How are you guys? it seems stuff always happens on saturdays, so lets see if we can go sundays instead.

Cedric and Ellie came back from their honey moon, and got back to work. The sergeant sent them to investigate a break in on a mall, and they found out that only food was taken.

Later, while checking out a break in into a kitchen, they once again found that only food was missing. At this time, Ellie used her special ability to interrogate Buster, the house's dog, and found out that the suspect fits the description of a goblin.

Maybe some goblins followed the elves through their gate? currently, Ellie and Cedric are coming back home from dining with her dad.

**She said**

Driving Cedric's truck is a lot of fun! it's big and feels really sturdy. It makes Ellie feel like she's really safe behind the wheel! of course, police officer Ellie knows the laws of traffic, so she properly signals at every corner and drives on the defensive!

"Cedric, why does your truck have a stick and the patrol car does not?" -she asks while looking down at the shift stick and making sure she's using it right
"Ah, please look at the road... well, my truck is older. Newer cars don't normally have a shift stick."
"Is it better without it?"
"Uhmm... I am not a big car fan, I wouldn't know, love. I just know enough to fix my truck."
"Ah, like when you fix the tv?"
"No, I don't slap the truck and make it work."
"Alright" -she energically twists the wheel to turn right, and enters their house's street.

It is already night, but not particularly late. The street lights have been on for just a little while, and there's still plenty of people out on the street.

Ellie stops the truck to greet every neighbor they come across, so it takes a bit to get home.

"Hold on love, I'll get your door for you!" -Cedric quickly gets off the truck while Ellie turns around to grab the bags in her arms.

Opening the door, he smiles as she leans down to kiss him. Holding her firmly by the waist, he lowers her to the floor before closing after her.

"Cedric, wouldn't it have made more sense to carry the bags instead?"
"But, I'r rather carry my Ellie, like this!" -he says while picking her up, bags and all, and making his way to the door as he kisses her.
"Hmm... Silly"

As usual, Stella greets them at the door, and Cedric takes his jacket off inside the house. Ellie is just wearing a shirt and jeans, completely okay with the fresh wind outside.

"I'll prepare some snacks, what are we doing tonight?"

Stella yaps happily, cheering for her "mom".

"No, I just want her to stop chewing my shoes..."
"But those are daddy's shoes, they smell like

Ellie "talks" to Stella...

daddy! That's what she says"
"Well, tell her that daddy needs his shoes dry and unchewed."
"She says she wants daddy to play with her more."
"It's not a negotiation..."

Still, Cedric does pick up Stella and tickles her tummy and chin

After that, they teach Stella to walk next to them when they walk her, and to not play on the kitchen.

***She said***

"Ah, should we give her a shower?"
"I'll buy some shampoo for her tomorrow"
"She needs her own shampoo?"
"Right, her fur is not the same as our hair... actually, your hair is really soft, love, don't you need a special shampoo?"
"Maybe?"
"Are there hair doctors? maybe you should google it up"

Ellie blinks, and kisses Cedric.

"My hair is fine, I used to wash it with river water and sometimes use plant oil on it, you know? I doubt the baby shampoo im using will hurt it."
"Ah, do I get another kiss if I worry about something else?"

She kisses him preemptively

"Silly"

The following morning, they are enjoying coffee inside the car when another call comes related to food theft.

"You think it's that goblin again?" -Ellie quickly finishes her cup and locks in her safety belt
"Sure. You think it's just one?"
"If it was a group, they would assault people."
"Really?"
"Yes, they are cowardly on their own, but in packs, they are quite daring."
"Uhm"

They soon arrive at a food stand. This time, there were witnesses that saw the goblin run in at a moment where the clerk was a few feet away from the counter, grab some food and run off.

"Well, with the descriptions I am getting, now we know its a goblin for sure." -Ellie sighs
"So, how do we catch it? him... it..."
"I haven't really gone goblin hunting you know? But it will probably look for a tunnel or somewhere else which is too small for humans to go into, which is warm, and gloomy."
"Well, I am not crawling into the sewers after it."

Ellie seems to think about it for a while.

"You remember that kid that we found in the sewers about two months ago?"
"Right, the one we were worried might had been kidnapped?"
"That's the one. He ended up at some sort of stop, right?"
"Yes, the sewers lead to a tank south of town. Ah, maybe we can flush the goblin to there?"
"I was thinking on just using dogs to chase it there." -says Ellie- "Wouldn't flooding the sewers risk drowning it?"
"As long as it keeps moving, no. Isn't seeking dogs on it kind of mean?"

"So which one of you came up with this?" -the sergeant asks while seeing how the officers lower the dogs into the sewers
"I did." -says Ellie
"Well, I'm only authorizing this because I had a lot of phonecalls from a lot of important people saying that if we couldn't find this critter by morning, we would find outselves up to the eyebrowns with people wearing hazmat suits and checking everyone in town for diseases." -the sergeant sounds rather pissed- "As it is, we'll probably all have to get checked anyway."

"Ah, let's hope our little guest isn't sick with anything, then."
"If he has been living in the sewers since Ellie's people arrived, there's a big chance he has, right?"
"Goblins are very resilient."
"Let's hope so."

The sergeant talks to the people at the final reservoir so check if they are ready with the nets, then orders to send the dogs after it.

"Well, there they go."
"Sergeant"
"Yes Ellie?"
"While abroad, I saw some officers on 'horses', can I get one of those?"
"We may be a rural town, but we are not that rural, Ellie."
"Aww! but this was on pretty big cities!"
"I think that's more of a tourist attraction thing. I can't really see any way on which riding a horse would be better than going around on a car, other than patrolling the park."
"The park patrols get horses!?"
"Yes, but that's basically punishment duty. You get to be out of the streets and have to police squirrels and birds for the rest of the year."
"Aww."

The dogs go into the sewers. Whenever possible, human officers go with them, but many of the tunnels are indeed too small for it.

"Now we wait." -says the sergeant- "Or to be more accurate, let's go wait at the final tank."

Seriously guys, this reminds me of a friend who works as a prison guard, and this time i went to visit him, he was watching sakura card captor. "Man, why are you watching that?" and he said "today a guy killed someone with a knife made out of soap, I need some cute, alright?"
To me this thread is like that, it's my cute, and I pretty much say so on the 1st post every time. If people wants more grim and dark, must be because they have very blessed and sheltered lives. Reminds me of why the Aasimar didn't made it to 4e. In the words of the designers "good and nice isn't exciting". Fuck them, and fuck those who are so privileged that they need to see grim darkness in their entertainment to see it at all. I prefer cute on mine.

Also remind me, now that the mail box is gone, I roll in the options box, right?

"Uhm? so it was more than one? how many are there?" -says the sergeant.

Of course, we are driving on our own patrol, but we can hear it over the radio.

"There's twelve in total, so far."

"Ellie, how many govlins are there on a tribe?"
"A lot, many more than a hundred. That's just a family, I think"
"Well, didn't you say they would attack people if there were more of them?"
"A dozen is not that many."
"It sounds plenty to me."
"That's not many, when you think goblins."

As we arrive at the site, we see that the goblins have been locked in the back of several police vehicles. It is mostly young ones, but there are some infants as well.

Indeed, one cannot help but think that they're just ugly. They look like stunted children with oversized heads, and their bodies are colored like something you would see on a chemical plant, with either dirty and sparse, or no hair at all.

"Well, I will be happy to hand them over tomorrow morning."

"Sergeant, who's coming to pick them up?"
"Uhm... honestly there's a lot of groups, and then there's the press. An operation like this, someone had to leak it to the media."

Well, there's no reason to doubt that, even if there's no media present at the capture point right now.

Indeed, the following morning, plenty of media groups are present to witness as the goblins are lifted into special vehicles and taken to tents outside of town (together with the officers who were there at the pick up point) to inspect them for diseases.

Thankfully, that includes neither Ellie nor Cedric.

Some of the news channels have given up on playing the plight of the goblins as soon as they saw their faces, and instead seem to be enraged about using the police dogs like that

"Ellie, do you really want a horse?"
"Wouldn't it be nice?"
"Oh, princess Ellie wants a poni." -Cedric says with a smile
"I'm not a princess..."
"Ah, sorry love, I'll explain it to you later. Let's go to work."

As they are driving around town, they receive a call. Thankfully, it is a much more mundane one, and they head over to look into a group of kids trespassing into an abandoned factory.

The factory building it's schefuled for demolition soon, and it has plenty of chemical waste.

"Why do kids like this sort of thing? what if one of them falls into a vat and turns into the joker or something?"
"Who?"
"Ah, comic book character. Let's be careful in there."

"Alright, let's try it the easy way first." -Cedric reaches into the car for the radio, switches it, raises the volume on the speakers to max and simply calls out for the kids.

"Hey, we got a complain about trespassers, so before we have to go in, why don't you kids come out and we'll just say you were gone when we got here!"

"You'll really do that?" -Ellie asks from her seat
"Sure, I was a kid too."
"Did you break into many factories?"
"Are you kidding me? dad would have grabbed me by the shoulders and shook me for a good 2 minutes while calmly saying how dissapointed he was."
"That doesn't sounds too bad"
"My feet wouldn't be touching the ground."
"Yes... I can imagine that..."

A few minutes later, noone has come out yet.

"Do you think they are still there?" -says Ellie
"They could have left from the back, but I was hoping they wouldnt, so we would not have to go in and check."
"Right."

Going in, the factory gear has been removed, so it is mostly a very big empty building, except for a few tanks with chemical residues near the back, and some offices on a small second floor.

"Pretty clean for an abandoned factory."
"I do not think this is clean at all" -says Ellie- "The smell is awful."
"I don't smell anything."
"You are lucky"

Upstairs, it looks like the kids must have been playing in the office, since the place looks... pretty orderly, actually. They were probably using it as a club house, since they cleared off the firniture except for a few chairs, and there is a decently new looking television and game console... it is a bit surprising that the place still has electricity, but it indeed seems to.

There's even an old microwave and a trash can full of discarded popcorn bags.

Thankfully, no syringes, condoms, or anything of the sort.
"You know, these may not be bad kids." -says Cedric
"There's some beer cans."
"So, they're not saints. They were already trespassing, remember?"

It takes them a little to unplug everything and carry it to the car.

As they are driving back to the station, they get a call from the sergeant, saying that there's some troubles at the hazmat tents where the goblins are being held, and that they should head over.
