You are Chitose Sonohara a 17 year yankii delinquent, badass, badboy, and high school student.

You’re currently attending the first semester of your second year at Onimaru Highschool of the Onimaru Trinity Sister Schools located in the dead center of your home-town-of-five-years, Eternal Diamond City on the eastern coast of Japan. While much of your time spent is just dicking around and going to school, you are also currently working part-time at your mentor’s establishment near the coast in the shopping district.

While you might have led quite the rough and tumble lifestyle for the better portion of a decade, it has come to your realization that FUCKING SHIT UP might not lead to the most prosperous of futures…

So super-charged with newfound determination to change your life, you CRASH INTO THE ROLLING MORNING!! Perhaps today will be great progress into a brilliant future of wonders untold!!

>Life has been -fairly- ordinary, but with recent revelations you’re beginning to think a bit more about what constitutes as normal or reality. They are quite deep thoughts for a degenerate such as yourself, but with the recent occurrences it is more than enough to get the gears turning. There’s no actual evidence or hearsay thus far to make you fully reconsider your understanding of the universe… but there has been enough coincidence to make you a bit weary… hopefully this will not hinder you as you continue to strive for a better tomorrow!

“Shit, why th’fuck not?” You help once more, though you do so with a fit of laughter. Instead of trying to keep standing Noriko instead opts to sit back down in her chair. Her eyes are set in disapproval and curiosity. She leans back as she awaits you to finish. “Cuz it’s pretty fuckin’ fun to do this shit to ya, Prez.”

“Chitose-kun! You’re so mean!” She scoots towards you in her chair and tries to hit you again with the palm-side of her little balled-up-fist, but she misses her mark when you take a slight step back. She does not fall this time as she catches herself with her other hand on her desk. Poking at her this time -really- got her flustered and clumsy! She’s almost as clumsy as Tina right now. It’s enough to make you let out quite a boisterous guffaw as she rights herself from her near-fall.

“Shit, that ain’t all either.” You raise a finger to dry a tear. Perhaps coming to the Student Council office wasn’t such a bad thing afterall! You lean forward after you’re able to manage getting yourself -mostly- calmed down, and place a hand on her desk. “You’s actually pretty damn cute when you’s flustered like this too, my important little Glasses Chick.”

“Y-y-yours?! C-c-cute?! B-b-but!” She leans back even deeper in her chair. Her dainty little fingers seem to dig right into the armrests, despite how solid they are. If she could physically pass through the chair and into the floor, she just might. She struggles to maintain eye contact, but she keeps breaking it away with darting glances towards every which way her eyes can go. Her face is flushed a deep crimson red, and sweat is forming on her brow. “I-I-I!”

“PFFFT! Shit, calm yo tits girl!” You cannot help but burst out into a fit of ravenous laughter. You are nearly felled with how deeply cute, adorkable, and wonderful this sight is. Your sides just about launch an all-out-assault on the nearest group of thugs, and then blast off into space!

>[1/3]
>>
“E-e-ehh?! B-b-b-but!” She blurts out as she leaves her indented space in her chair and places her hands on her desk to lean forward. Her hand, however, slips as she tries to pull herself upwards, scattering the mass of papers on her desk. With her flailing around they not only find their way onto the floor, but also into the air. Amidst the chaos you snatch up a -single- piece of paper, the one that she had turned around and shuffled into the rest of the papers, and you pocket it after folding it in half in haste.

“B-b-but nothin’! Yeah! -MY- Glasses Chick, just like I has -MY- Sweater Chick, or how that one dork is -MY- Fangy. I’s always refered to ya guy.” The entire situation’s got you in stitches again. Man, if you didn’t know that ‘Succubus’ was down there, you might be inclined to take a rest in the infirmary. “Man, this -play- you’s workin’ on must be pretty damn intense to be gettin’ ya all hot-n-bothered like this!”

“Sh-shut up! You said it like that on purpose!” Her voice cracks with a mix of emotions, and she even goes so far as to throw a few sheets of that paper at you. Sadly due to air resistance none of them reach you, and they all end up flying back into her face again. “You’re such a jerk sometimes!”

“Yeah, yeah. But I’m -YOUR- jerk!” You turn face and begin to leave the office. Your goal has been accomplished, and your damage hath been done. Overall, it was quite the productive trip, and even served to better your mood from your encounter with Yori.

“Just! Get out! Leave! Go back to class Chitose-kun!” She frantically tries to recapture the papers that she flung all over herself; alternating swatting and grabbing

“Whatever, I’m already leavin’! I’ll check ya later!” You exit the room and leave Noriko behind. You feel like your smirk right now must be legendary, and might -never- leave your face. Fuck. Your cheeks are practically sore with how much you’re cheesing it!

With your good feeling recently in mind, you turn towards the stairwell to head on up the final flight of stairs to get to the rooftop for that ‘air’ you wanted to get. As your pass by some of the classrooms you see some of your upperclassmen peeking their heads out of their classes to stare at you. Fuck, with how much Noriko was screaming, and how loud you were laughing it doesn’t surprise you. You just raise them a finger, and continue your happy ass to the stairs.

Soon as your first foot hits the steps, you fish out that piece of paper and unfold it to take a gander at what had Noriko so out-of-sorts, though you already have a decent idea of what it could be.

“Shit. I was right.” Your eyes fall onto a picture of yourself. It’s not the most -flattering- picture, as you -do- tend to intentionally take bad ones for the school. Yup, it’s last year’s school photo where you flipped-off the cameraman and the school censored your fingers by narrowing the borders on either side of you. In addition your tongue is lolling out of your mouth and your eyes are in a DEEP snear. Yup… just like any other year. “Dammit Prez, y’don’t wanna get involved with a piece of shit like me.”

You finally reach the door leading out to the rooftop. Delicious, cancery salvation sits just beyond those metal, double doors! You -really- need to light one up right about now. You reach for the horizontal push-bar that is the door’s opening mechanism, and push.

It does not open. It feels like it’s been barred from the other side.

Your suspicion seems to be correct when you hear the sounds of laughter emanating from outside along with general jeering and banter amongst the shitbrains that decided to bar your path.

>Kick that shit OPEN!
>DEMAND that the shits on the other side open it for you.

Ha! Ha! Time for Not Arch's quest!
>>
OP, I have to ask, why?

You seem to have a fairly good grasp of the English language, and your writing style is engaging, if a bit juvenile.

So why this dreck? It's like you've managed to pinpoint all the worst features of clichéd anime and manga with exactly zero of the redeeming features of said mediums. This is genuinely the most unoriginal slop I've seen on /tg/.

What is more, why a quest? You seem to be very much into this, based on the multi post updates, but why not just write your own light novel? Does masquerading as a quest guarantee more people will read your 'original' fiction and thus validate you? We're your earlier attempts at storytelling perhaps ignored by your followers at deviant art?

I'd like to apologize for any offence given, seriously. I don't mean to appear malicious, I'm just genuinely curious.

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I have my suspicions, but I'd like to hear from you.

I will take this bait for what it's worth.

First, thank you for the comment on my writing being engaging, even if my writing style is not as sophisticated or as mature as some others.

I don't really consider myself a wordsmith. Nor do I really consider myself a writer/author.

I am more than a bit curious about your comment about my use of clichés as well as my (apparent) lack of anything more substantial/enjoyable.

As for why a quest? Certainly not because I'm looking to expand a readerbase. I'm not a writer.

This quest is actually the first written piece I've had the pleasure to presenting to those who've enjoyed it thus far.

The aim of one who entertains is not of self-satisfaction, but that of bringing entertainment.

If there were no anons who would join me in this quest, I would have attempted the task of -only- writing a piece of literature. But here on /tg/ I have found anons who do, for whatever reasons they may, like it.

Dude, I'm just a guy in his mid-twenties who wants to give other people a good laugh and a smile. A quest allows me to entertain, as well as give the players the ability to also drive the story however it might end up.

Also, if you've any -actual- criticisms, I'd -love- to hear them. If there are improvements to be made, I'd be pretty damn willing to hear them out.

First you had to deal with carrying your friend to the infirmary and getting his nosebleed blood all over your clothes, then you had to endure your encounter with the slut -in- the infirmary, and now some punks are barring your from the rooftop? Fuck that shit. Fuck this door. You take a couple steps backward and lower your stance. If those chucklefucks out there think that something as simple as this is enough to keep your out, they were dead wrong.

You take two swift, and powerful steps forward, and with a small spin unload the fullest fury you can muster into the center of the door. Whatever was holding the portal closed snaps at the full force of your foot bashing into the door. With a sudden swing either door swings wide open. One side smacks loudly against the wall it was attached to, while the other one makes a loud, dull thud as it runs into something with a lot more padding.

“Urrgk!” It was a person, apparently.

You take the next few feet forward and exit onto the rooftop, and arrive at your destination. You take a good look around with a swivel of your head and notice one gal, and six guys all in various states of shock at your sudden entrance… well, -five- guys who are able to make such expressions, as the sixth is trying to recover from what looks like a broken nose.

“Oye! Th’fuck do you think you’re doing comin’ up here?! Ain’t’chu see th’door was locked?!” One particular boy steps forward. His pompadour gleams in the sunlight with all the product used to keep it in that bulbous form. He sneers you down over the top of his black sunglasses, and raises his middle finger when your eyes lock with his.

“Yeah! What he said!” Another boy steps up. He’s a big, beefy-looking bastard rocking a skinhead look, and has a cigarette tucked between his lips.

“Get th’fuck outta here -Yella-Kitten!- You ain’t wanted here.” The chick speaks up. She’s got a long skirt, and is wearing the male’s jacket over her torso, only covered by sarashi. She’s also rockin’ one of those medical masks that some delinquents do…

In fact, you can spot two of the guys also wearing them over their faces. You know these chumps. You beat their asses down when you first came to Eternal Diamond City, and you’ve had the displeasure of beating them down a few times since then. Albeit, it looks as though their membership has increased by three since last time, one of the newbies being the chick.

“I came up fer some fresh air. I din’ think that’d it be so polluted with shits like the lot of ya.” You take another step forward and give a nice, good stretch. Even though you’ve walked into a scrappy situation the afternoon sun feels great, coupled with the slight breeze that could be felt at such a height. The noontime sun is pretty damn nice.

The thugs begin to move to encircle you, and each lower into battle stances. The silence between the group of them is golden. You can practically hear their hearts beating wildly at the prospect of getting into a scrap they -think- they can win.

“Now, how’s ‘bou you all piss off and let me enjoy my smoke in peace.” You relax your posture a bit and crack your knuckles. They each pop in audible succession to add extra weight to your words. You motion your head towards the guy still recovering from being hit by the door. “That’s if ya don’t ALL need a nose job.”

“Fuck you Sonohara! Get him!” The pompadour cries out as he rushed towards you. There is a flurry of movement as each of the delinquents charges right at you. They cry out loudly their individual battle cries and curses. Most of them only have their fists, but you notice that the some of them are packing. Skinhead is brandishing a pair of brass knuckles, the Chick is wielding a baseball bat, both dudes with surgical masks are coming at you with shinai…

Looks like it’s gonna be a good one.

A’ight bozos, are ya ready ta rumble?!
But, before ya start scrappin’,
ya gotta know the RRRRRRRRRRuLLLLLLLLLes!

With that stated, time to get into the nitty gritty:
Each encounter consists of THREE things:
>1. Success/Failure Pools
>2. Die rolls
>3. Rumble Resource Points

>>>Success/Failure Pools
Each round you gain at least 1-pt of Success, or Failure. Both Success and Failure have their own individual pools that will keep adding up for each Success or Failure. Success or Failure in an Encounter is determined by which pool reaches a total of 5-pts first. There are two ways of adding to each pool: Die Rolls, and Rumble Resources.

>>>Die Rolls:
Die rolls will be 1d20, and I will take the first three rolls. There will be a starting DC set for each encounter to determine Successes or Failures. Rolls will be determined by the highest roll, and if at least one of the other rolls is at least three below the DC. A Natural 1 or 20 will usually result in Critical Success or Failure, but only if it is supported by the other dice; then it is just a normal Success or Failure. Critical Successes or Failures will grant you 2-pts rather than just 1-pt. The DC to hit will permanently raise with each Failure, and lessen with each Success. Battle momentum is a hell of a thing.

>>>Rumble Resources (RR)
Die rolls represent the eternal sway of battle, but Rumble Resources (RR) represent the Mind, Body, and Soul of Chitose. Each Encounter will start with 1-pt all three (RR). Each (RR) is a numeral indication of how exactly you’re , and represent different aspects of Chitose. Each round the first three to roll dice get to choose a (RR) in addition to their Rolls. You gain an additional 2-pts of Success or Failure if you reach a certain threshold of a particular (RR), dependant on the Encounter. Some fights require more brawn, but less thinkin’; more manly spirit, less brawn; so on and so forth. If you reach this threshold it will trigger events tied to each encounter.

TIME TO FUCK UP SOME SHITS
>>
File: FOLLOW_THE_RULES.jpg (96 KB, 850x645)
96 KB
96 KB JPG
>Hotblooded: (HB)
Hotblooded represents BODY, and is the stat that increases Chitose’s physical parameters. The more points invested in (HB) allows Chitose to dish out more pain, and greatly increases his overall brute force. Every 5-pts of (HB) adds a +1 bonus to the primary roll.

You -always- gain a bonus point of (HB) with each failure. Adversely you -lose- a point of (HB) with each success. Reaching 0 (HB) results in the secondary die’s DC to be one less than the primary DC, rather than 3 less than the primary DC.

>Spirited: (SP)
Spirited represents SOUL, and is the stat that increases Chitose’s willpower, and overall ability to do cool shit. (SP) allows Chitose to become even more inspiring to his allies, terrifying to his foes, and increases his maneuverability/agility. Every 5-pts of (SP) adds a +1 bonus to the secondary roll.

You -always- gain a bonus point of Spirit with each Success. Adversely you -lose- a point of Spirit with each Failure. Reaching 0 (SP) results in the encounter’s DC being raised by 2.

>Justice: (JP)
Justice represents the MIND, and increases both your ability to be a clever little shit, as well as your awareness amidst the throes of combat. (JP) let’s Chitose analyze a situation as to find alternative means to end a conflict, weak points, or to catch wind of a change of his opponent's tactics. Every 5-pts of (JP) lowers the target DCs by 1.

You -always- gain 10 bonus (JP) with a Critical Success, and lose -all- of your (JP) with each Critical Failure. You also lose 2 (JP) for each failure. Reaching 0 (JP) results in a -1 penalty to each die roll.

>>>TL;DR
Choose Hotblooded, Spirited, or Justice in addition to rolling 1d20. Just one.
First three are counted.
Earn 5 Successes before you get 5 Failures.
Gain benefits from raising Hotblooded, Spirited, and Justice points high enough
Accrue penalties if Hotblooded, Spirited, or Justice reach 0 points.

Yes. Now -this- is familiar. You know this feeling all too well.

You crouch down as your adrenaline kicks in. It gives you that nice high that a good fight always tends to give you. While on a normal day you would be most inclined to go all-out and just charge right into battle like the rest of these assholes, but today you’re a new man. You’re gonna reform, and it all starts on this very day.

You can feel your heart beating strongly in your chest. It feels like it’s going a million miles an hour, and you can practically -feel- each and every single blood cell in your body rushing along arteries and veins as you analyze the situation. Six of the seven total thugs are rushing you, but they’re not at all organized. Their formation isn’t even worthy of being called dog-like… they’re worse than dogs.

Pompadour reaches you first, but you easily sidestep his straightforward punch. He shouts with surprise when you grab the collar of his shirt to swing him with his own momentum into one of his own guys, a dude with a tall and gelled up mohawk. Mohawk stumbles over Pompadour and nearly falls down, while Pompadour takes the fullest brunt of the swing and hits the ground with a skid. He doesn’t seem completely out yet, and Mohawk is stalled as he turns to try and help his buddy up.

You turn to hear the whistle of objects being swung through the air and jump backwards just in time to see the two Surgical-mask chucklefucks hit empty air, then each other.
>>
“Ugggayah!” The chick cries out as she too swings her wooden bat at your face, but with the added momentum of your first jump backwards, you do so again. Her bat hits the ground HARD, and you can see how the reverberations are affecting her hands by the pained expression in her eyes.

Skinhead, however gets a good swing in on you. He strikes hard into your chest. While the impact was good, the damage it dealt was not so much as it was broken by your pack of cigarettes… While he knocked some of the air out of you, it wasn’t the worst you’ve ever had.

“This mother fucker -right- here!” Your nearly unhindered voice cries out loudly enough to startle the chick some, who looked relieved that you’d been hit. Skinhead looks plenty shaken as well. He probably didn’t expect you to be able to shout as loudly after being hit with a set of brass knuckles; he probably also didn’t -feel- that he didn’t land a -solid- hit due to them either.

>Your balanced start was enough to get a strong grasp of the situation, deal some direct damage, as well as shake 'em up a bit!

Stop the presses boys! I've just stumbled across a conspiracy of world-shakin' proportions. Our yankii ain't just some punk kid. Mohawk is able to fully assist Pompadour to his feet, and the both of them are glaring daggers at you. You can see a decent gash has formed on Pompadour’s lip, as well as the rest of his face being -very- red from sliding against the grating surface of the rooftop.

The two Surgical Mask guys spin on their heels near the same time. They try to keep themselves steady through the pain of being hit so directly by each other, and curse insults back to one another. Their bodies shake with each slow and steady step they take towards you, seemingly being pained from the movement.

The Chick finally seems to get a grip and she hefts her bat over her shoulder as she begins to approach. Closes her eyes for a moment and places a hand over her chest, but it lasts a mere instant. She takes off towards you once more.

You take a step forward towards Skinhead, but find yourself stumbling into him instead as the collar of your jacket is grabbed. You practically fall out of your school’s uniform jacket , and stumble right into Skinhead. You can feel the solid build of his body as he spins you around, and grabs hold of your arms. Shit! He’s got a solid grip on them as well!

>[1/2]
>>
“Eyye, fhucker! Y’fink yer fso coohl fer breagin’ m’nose, how coohl y’fink yer ghonna beh when I breagh yer wkhole facthe?!” With Skinhead at your back and holding you towards the door you bust through, you see the dude with the broken nose coming towards you; blood is practically spilling from his nose, and it dyes his white shirt a bright red. You struggle to get out of Skinheads grasp, but the struggle is lessened when you feel the solid impact of a baseball bat against your gut. “Fhuck you, Sonoghara!”

He staggers forward and strikes you hard in the face. His fist connects solidly with your cheek, and then a second hit gets you in the chin as he follows it up with an uppercut. You try to struggle out of Skinhead’s grasp, but he tightens his grip and knees you in the back to calm your ass down.

“Ain’t such a big deal anymore, are ya ‘Yella Kitty’? Won’t be talkin’ so big anymore!” Pompadour finally makes his way to you and gives you a solid kick right to the gut. Shit! Your lunch is just about to try and make it’s exit! “Yeah! I like the sound of ‘Yella Kitten’! Golden Lion is too good for shit like you!”

You’re pissed. Ain’t no fuckin’ reason right now! You struggle like a wild beast in Skinhead’s iron grip to no avail. All rhyme and reason is lost in your mind as it is only filled with RAGE and the DESIRE to keep moving forward! You begin to lose sight of everybody else as you vision clouds with the exception of Pompadour.

>CRITICAL FAILURE!! You’ve lost yourself to rage, and are incapable of thinking clearly! Your Justice has been dropped to 0, also your Failure raises your Hotblooded pts by 1, and lowers your Spirited pts by 1.

It's what I hope we become, minus the Idiot part. That or Shizuo from DRRR

Well, seeing as we already have girls that like us to various degrees and notice it, I think we're ahead on the not quite so stupid part.

And we lament that they're interested is also a good character choice

Pretty sure we're not strong enough to rip street lights out of the ground.

“When we’re done wit ya, Yella Kitten, we’s gonna strip your ass naked and tie your bleached, blonde little head to the gate!” Pompadour laughs and his already ugly mug shifts to become even uglier as he guffaws at his own plan. Of course as their ‘boss’ his mooks also follow him into this bout of laughter. “After dat, you better not show yer pompous ass ‘round these parts again!”

His ugly face and the chorus of laughter surrounding him snap you out of your nearly blind rage. Shit. You know he’s not bluffing, but if he did that you -just- might lose not only all of your street cred, but you’d also have the endure all of your friends seeing you in such a sorry ass state. You’re no chump! You’re a MAN!

Pompadour places his greasy, ass hand on your golden locks, and you shift into the next gear. You feel a lot of Skinhead’s strength in his upper body to keep you from going every horizontal direction, but he’s gotten so used to it he ain’t keeping you from dropping down.

With a sudden bend of the knees you go down and take the top-heavy Skinhead with you. As he falls with his hands still trying to firmly grasp at your arms, you use his momentum and an upwards jump to fling his ass forward. While it only lasts a brief moment, you fling that bald-headed motherfucker at Pompadour. He seems to realize your plan, lets go of your hair, and rolls out of the way. No matter. You still send Skinhead flying right at the next bozo in line, which would be Broken Nose.

With a dull thud and a loud gasp, Skinhead falls back-first on top of Broken Nose who gets the air knocked out of him. He gasps for air and knocks his own ass out flailing his arms and head around while Skinhead struggles to get his ass off of him.

One asshole down.

>[1/2]
>>
While Pompadour rolls himself far enough away to be safe, you settle your eyes on the three people who are -armed- and are -much- more dangerous in the moment. The chick seems to shirk away from your glare and backs up a few feet, but she still grasps the baseball bat firmly in her hand.

The Surgical Mast duo shiftily look back forth between themselves, before the one you notice is left-handed pushes the right-handed one forward. After the pair decide on who gets to go, they both charge one after the other.

"You're messin' with the -wong- motha fucker!" You crouch in preparation.

>Success! You’ve barely escaped a nasty situation that was quickly going downhill! You also regained some of your senses, while your returned momentum has quickly made a couple of the newer people of Pompadour’s crew back off a bit! Success lowers you Hotblooded points by 1, and Failure raises your Spirited points by 1.

Glad you like it. That has to be my favorite song from Anarchy Reigns. Perfect for when there's a 1 on (Or in this more than) 1 fight going on.
>>
Your eyes are trained on the Surgical Mask duo’s movements, and how they raise each of their shinai in preparation for attack. You prepare to get your timing right to jump between their attacks, and hit them before they can get you with a backswing. This train of thought is interrupted when you hear Mohawk’s grating voice cry out; sounding off his attack -before- he’s even able to strike. It’s like he’s never even been in a -real- scrap before.

He jumps and tries to hit you with a jump kick to your chest, but you anticipate his movement and step out of the way before he even reaches you. You see the look of shock and fear in his eye as you look down upon him in pity as he flies by right in front of you. As he’s mid motion to correct himself so he doesn’t hurt himself too bad on his landing you raise and arm, and lower and elbow into his face as he passes. The hit is strong enough that he’s unable to correct himself and he falls, and skids on his ass a few feet away from you.

You do not focus on him as you hear the planting stomp of the first Surgical Mask guy setting his foot down for a strong horizontal slash at your abdomen. Just a single step behind you notice the second guy getting into position to do the same thing, only with a vertical slash. While you consider jumping over or dropping under the horizontal slash, you realize that the vertical one will get you if you drop into such a weakened position. You’re going to take one way or another.

So you take the strong strike to your abdomen after bracing for it. While it hurts like fuck, flexing your muscles helps keep your lunch in tact. Afterwards you reach down and grab the shinai that hit you out of it’s owner’s grasp, him being far too shocked that you just stood there and tanked his blow like a boss. It slides easily from his fingers, and you’re able to raise it and brace for the vertical strike his counterpart is making.

CLUNK!

>[1/3]
>>
It strikes solidly, but with no harm to yourself. The second Surgical Mask dude is also quite shocked with this situation, and you take advantage of both of their surprise. With a quick spin on your heel you kick the first guy in the head, flooring him.
With the rest of your momentum, you’re able to get a pretty solid hit on the second guy’s forearm. It causes him to drop his shinai, so only two of your opponents are armed. But fuck if you’re not very good using a shinai… you’ve never done kendo before.

With an instinctual hop backwards, followed by a strong backwards elbow to Skinhead who’s finally gotten his ass up, you throw the shinai over the railing of the roof. You got a good hit in with it, but it was lucky. You’re better off using your own body, and it’d be bad to leave that laying around for somebody else to grab.

Skinhead almost doubles over, but while your elbow thrust was strong, it still hit solid muscle.

The Chick looks nervous as she takes another couple steps backwards. Mohawk looks downright terrified as he seems to freeze in place as the tables turn so thoroughly.

>[2/3]
>>
“Fuck! GET HIM!” Pompadour screams out as he tries to get in another punch, to which you’re able to sidestep, and then trip. He falls on his ass -again.-

“Yeah. Come ‘n get some! I’ll fuck all you guys up!” You raise both your arms up and flip off your opponents, trying to get as many of them as you can within their general direction. Mohawk and the Chick begin to approach once more, but -very- cautiously.

>Success! The momentum of your reversal has turned the tables on this gang of opposing delinquents! You’ve cleared your head quite a bit, and your raw determination still seems to be make others think twice about getting near you. Success lowers you Hotblooded points by 1, and Failure raises your Spirited points by 1.

Yeah! This is the fuckin’ thrill you’re so used to! The ebb and flow of battle that fills a man’s heart and soul with meaning! Even if it means taking a set of brass knuckles to your ribs… SHIT!

Skinhead seems to have made a decent recovery and is now on the offensive again. He strikes forward and misses with his other fist, but Pompadour’s able to take advantage of your dodge and plant his fist into the back of your skull. The pain spikes through your head and begins a dull throbbing. Fuck!

“Yeah! Keep on yappin’ Sonohara! Ain’t so tough without yer senpai or your lapdog, are ya?!” Pompadour knees you in the stomach as Skinhead grabs hold of your shoulders. Oh! Fuck that! While Pompadour gets in a good hit, you struggle right the fuck out of another hold, but only to be assaulted by a suckerpunch by Mohawk who’s seemed to regain his cool, as well as a bat to the shins from the chick! The only person who hasn’t hit you in this series of bad moves is the remaining Surgical Mask guy…

Crack! There goes that. He strikes you hard in the back of your back. You swing out and graze Mohawk, but catch mostly air… air and another onslaught of hits of various sorts from being ganged up on. This is seriously pissing you off! You strike out in raw fury and the crowd parts momentarily as your punch thin air, trying your damndest to hit -somebody.- Amidst this blind flurry of punches you lunge forward at Pompadour, who in turns reads your attack and moves. Instead of hitting thin air, your momentum carries you forward to strike the entryway onto the roof! You hit the solid concrete; in one of the cracks even.

As you retract your pained fist from the wall you can feel the set of studs break away from your glove… they are now embedded into the wall.

While there’s still a metal plate within your gloves that they were attached to, you’ve lost some of your fist’s edge. Fuck! You’ll get these bastards!

>Failure! Shit… well, a -good- fight never has -that- clear of a victor anyways. You can still do it! People -love- underdogs! Failure raises you Hotblooded points by 1, and lowers your Spirited points by 1.

>EVENT GET! (Negative): Hotblooded reached Threshold of 6! You’ve lost some edge in your punches, as well as left identifiable markings (and/or) evidence in the wall. While this -doesn’t- mean you should never let your temper take control of you, -this- time it could have consequences. Gain 1 additional point of Failure.

I've got a plan for that. As well as the nearly impossible event of triple 20's.

In that scenario, you will gain the usual 2 Critical Points, and then in addition you will obtain 1 more.

So that will be a total of 3 Success or Failure points.

It isn't as "insta-fail" or "win-button", but it still gives extra room for the extraordinary to happen.

You -just- might be able to come back from such failure... Maybe. The Dice Gods are fickle like that.
>>
Well fuck this shit! You turn around as the three try to take advantage of your back being to a wall. You’re able to think the situation through and come up with a plan of action! Yes! It might be crazy, but it might just be crazy enough to work! You quickly hop upwards, and then kick yourself off of the wall with all your gathered strength. You channel that rage to propel you forward, and over the wall of fellow degenerates. This quick maneuver is more than enough to make all of them pause a moment before turning around.

But it’s too late. You land just behind them with grace.

With one hand you reach out to grab the mask right off the last standing shinai-wielding guy. This move makes him drop his weapon, and cover his mouth with both hands. Of course. This little shit is a member of the kendo club! That’s why he’s carrying around a shinai. If he’s -caught and identified- like how you might be due to your studs embedded in the wall, he’d get kicked out of the kendo club! Now that you know his identity, and -most likely- that of his -most likely twin- brother you have some leeway against them.

Not only that, with a swift kick to Mohawk’s leg as he tries to turn in time to catch you before you’re able to attack, and it causes his leg to give out. The full weight of his body crashes down on his knee and he cries out in pain. Thankfully, his falling also causes him to fall on top of the dude’s shinai. Now you’ve potentially have further evidence, apart from the first guy’s who you threw off the building.

>[1/2]
>>
“What would’jer sensei do if she knew you’s participating in such unsavory acts, huh Shinai-boy-number-2?” You call out to the kid directly, and it causes him to turn tail and run. Little dipshit really wasn’t ready for the consequences of such a lifestyle. What a little bitch. You can hear him cursing as he runs down the stairwell.

The Chick also backs up a bit, but based off of how she doesn’t immediatly take flight nor attack, you’re able to see that she’s conflicted. Pompadour and Skinhead have no qualms though, and they try to position themselves on either side of you...

>Success! Time to turn those tables AGAIN! Thugs really begin to underestimate you when they think you’re on the ropes. By experience, you know -just how- to take advantage of this situation! Success lowers your Hotblooded points by 1, and raises your Spirited points by 1.

>EVENT GET! (Positive): Justice Threshold of 6 has been surpassed! Looking to change the tides by using your noggin’ can really get things moving in the right direction! Gain 1 additional point of Success.

>Success (3)/Failure (4)
