Gently, I poke a finger into the hole that has appeared on the side of what I thought to be the wrought-iron exterior of the building. The spray of air hasn't ceased, and I'm finding it more and more difficult to believe that this is simply an illusion or some kind of misunderstanding on how buildings work. There's no doubt about it in my mind. Fortune HQ, a gigantic building which was once made of concrete and steel, is now filled almost entirely with air. I am Itsukuma Masami. Today is not looking to be a good day, either. This is the last day we have before Asai escapes his prison and does whatever evil thing he has planned. I'm frustrated with my family at the moment, as none of them seemed to have any confidence in me AT ALL with plan. I'm hoping to convert Asai into a human, which should de-power him. Mom has some kind of weird plan involving a magic bracelet. Marie, Aiko's mom, wants to fight Asai head-on. Kaori wants to leave town and never look back. The only sensible choices are Mom's plan and mine. Maybe nobody else is smart, like we are.We came to Fortune HQ shortly after discussing our plans in order to scout out what Asai might be doing. Hundreds of monsters are gathered in the parking lot outside of his evil building, and his evil building appears to be replaced with a big evil balloon shaped like his building. So whatever plan he has in motion is completely lost on me."M-Maybe he's trying to start a big circus?" My words are trembling."I-I hope it's a big circus." Kaori touches the surface of the building. The 'skin' of this air-filled replica bends to her touch. "I don't think it's a big circus, Masami." She backs away from it, slowly. >"Then what is it!? Why would he make this!?" >"I don't know, either." >"Maybe all the monsters out front are full of air too, want to go check?">Call Asai on your cell phone! >CALL MOM AND TELL HER!>Hide! There's no telling if he spotted me here or not! >Other?

Since this shit is running for almost 100 threads now,the fuck is it about andis it worth reading the archive?
>>42964146It's Magical Girl played as straight as you can imagine with a few mystery elements mixed in. If you're into a hundred threads of that kind of thing, go for it. The first dozen threads are sketchy writing-wise, though.

>"Then what is it!? Why would he make this!?" >CALL MOM AND TELL HER!>"Maybe all the monsters out front are full of air too, want to go check?"Writing!>>42964224This is a good description, I would like to add that I have emphasis on cute in this story instead of action or drama.
>>42964224I don't recall them being particularily sketchy.
"Then.." I stare at the surface of the soft, plastic wall."What is it!? Why would someone make such a thing?" "Masami! Shh!" Ohh! Oh right! Stealthy! We're trying to be stealthy. "Sorry!" I fumble in my pocket and pull out my phone, and quickly tap Mom's tile. "Hello?""MOM! FORTU-"I feel a nudge on my shoulder, "Shh!" "..Mom, Fortune HQ is gone, there's just a replica of the building in it's place.""That's silly." "No! It's true! We're there right no-" "Wait a minute! Didn't I tell you not to go there!? Get back home, right now!" "W-."I suddenly realize that the thin ice I may have already been on is already thinner. "Got to go.""Masami! Wait-" Click."Didn't go so well?" I nod my head, "And I think we're both grounded from sweets, now." "MASA-" I put my hand over her mouth, we both nervously search around. "Masami! Every time! Every time you get some dumb idea you go and get me in trouble with it! I'm fed up! I'm going home!" "Wait, hold on. Don't you want to see what those monsters are doing out front?" "I don't even care anymore, Masami!" "You will care if they attack the city, Kaori!" She pouts, crossing her arms and glaring at me. "Fine. Let's go." "Yay!" --We walk through the parking lot, making note of all the elaborate additions Asai has added.Statues, glaring straight ahead with steely resolve. Each of them wearing a shiny slab of metal in place of armor. "Wow." "That's.." Kaori seems equally awed. "Stupid Asai! He was expecting someone to spy on him and see this stupid display. He's probably laughing to himself thinking about how panickey everyone is getting over a fake army." Kaori stomps her foot, "This sucks, I'm in trouble and I came to Fortune for nothing." >"Uuh! Look on the bright side! No Asai, right?" >"This isn't right, Kaori.">"Want to punch a statue?" >"I'm sorry.">"..How did he make these?">This isn't fair! Call out Asai! My internet connection is dying, and it's not a fast death.Cross fingers I can get the next post up.
"This isn't right, Kaori." I nudge her, and then point to all of the statues. "Where would Asai have hidden all of these statues? Where did they come from?""I don't know, why don't you ask him?" Kaori shrugs."Well it's just.." I look around me one more time, just to be sure I have the number right. There are at least one or two hundred of these statues lined up in the parking lot of Fortune.Imagine if they were real monsters.I shiver just thinking about it; I could take a few, but not several hundred. "How did all of these get here? Mom didn't mention them when she was around." "Actually, I was thinking about it." Kaori seems sullen, "I think they WERE here, and were why Mom didn't want us coming over."The sheer number of these statues just baffles me, where did they all come from? Who made them? Who would make unique versions of hundreds of stone replicas of monsters without ever asking-Or, better yet, how did all of these get here perfectly unscathed since yesterday? They weren't here even a few days ago. So that means the only person who could have made them-"How did he make these?" I ponder out-loud. "I really doubt he hired someone to make statues of a hundered monsters and just put them in his parking lot." Kaori runs her finger along the exterior of one of the stone behemoths. She turns to me and snaps her fingers."Maybe." Kaori clicks her tongue, "Maybe Asai's power is over stone? That would explain how he controlled the building. It would also mean that if he wanted to make a hundred statues, he could have just pulled them up from the ground." "Woh! Hold on Kaori." I stop her, feeling a sense of panic. "I don't want to think about if Asai could control stone. I mean, the ground we're standing on is made of stone, the Earth is made of stone, that would be very bad and scary if he had control over the Earth!" That's how it works, right? It must be."Well, I-, Um." she tries to find her words. >Cont.
"Forget it! I'm calling him!" "Calling him!?" "I got his cell phone number! I'll just call him up and ask what the big idea is!" ClickRing.Ring.Ring.Click."Hello, you have reached Fortune's business lin-" I grumble and tap the button on my phone."What does this company even sell that requires a business line?"Kaori stands ramrod straight, and then furiously taps my shoulder."What is it, Kaori?" My phone is ringing?I take it out of my pocket and turn around. Then I see what Kaori is pointing at. "Hello! It's rude of me to miss one of my business calls!" Asai. He's standing right here, in the rows and rows of statues. "I'll be sure to get right back to you after I tend to some other business of my own!" He has that spiteful smirk on his face as he taps his phone and pockets it."What brings you here today, sweetie? Did you notice my lawn ornament closeout?" >Get really mad at him!>Nope! Time to go! "A-s-s-s-s-s-s-" Kaori stammers. This is probably the first time she's come face-to-face with Asai, now that I think about it. To be fair, I'm also feeling a little stiff. This is a far different environment than I usually meet the man in. For one, I'm surrounded by an army of creepy statues. Two, he seems far more threatening when he's OUTSIDE of his office, and standing up.Oh, he's a lot taller than I remember him being. It doesn't help that I've been caught red-handed doing the exact thing that he told me not to do. This time seems more like a disappointed parent getting ready to scold their kid. I don't like thinking that I fit anywhere into that. "Didn't Izumi say something about today? Something about 'Don't come over here?'" He taps his foot. "What do you have to say for yourself, Masami?""Asai! You don't scare us!" Kaori says, as she steps backwards uneasily."That's too bad, because I was hoping to get at least one day of peace and quiet." He sighs. Then, he starts walking toward us. "STAY BACK!" Kaori yells. "You're too late! Get off my property!" His smirk is gone. It's replaced with a slight frown. "OKAY! WE WERE JUST LEAVING!" I leap forward and grab Kaori by the arm. Then I concentrate. Safe place.Safe place! SAFE PLACE! HE'S RUNNING AT US NOW! SAFE PLACE! "You two just sit-" His voice is cut off.--This is it, we're back in the other world.Safe place, indeed. Kaori nearly falls over when she realizes that we're safe. She falls into my arms and starts to sob. I have another thought on my mind."He didn't care about us at all. He doesn't think we have anything that can threaten him." Is he right? Does he seriously think nothing we can do will stop him now?"You two." I hear a voice echo out, almost like it's surrounding us. That's when I realize, we're still technically inside of the barrier surrounding Fortune. I can almost feel him looking at me from the other side.>Thread End
Thanks for the thread everyone. My apologies if this one seemed a lot shorter than usual. The posting problems and the connection issues have made it difficult to do anything. Thanks again for the thread, Ill try to schedule a longer thread for Saturday if I'm not busy.
