You are a Magical Girl, and you are about to be murdered by a golden-haired traitor.

A traitor that - and it needs to be said here - had played everyone, most of all your sempai, like a goddamn fiddle. To the point where no one - not even you - suspected her of anything other than the most steadfast loyalty, the most motherly of concern.

You'll admit here and now - moments before your death - that you've always been jealous of her. More than your sempai's rough sibling-like closeness with Kyoko, or her grudging camaraderie with Sayaka - even more than her sometimes distressing obsession with trying to get Wendy to like her again - you've always been envious of how Tomoe Mami seemed to always be the sun that your sempai's entire universe revolved around on.

It wasn't love, not the kind you were blessed enough to share with your grumbling, chainsmoking sempai. It was a different kind, one devoid of lust or romance or even the barest hint of infatuation.

It was a love that would have her go on a murder spree to avenge Tomoe Mami's honor. A love that would see your sempai consigning the world to flames if it meant protecting Tomoe Mami from harm.

It was adoration. Pure, focused, unconditional, untainted adoration. Not exactly obsession nor worship, but carrying the unhealthy zealousness of both.
>>
>>43033083

Your sempai adored Tomoe Mami to the point that her true self - the one that warned you about her treachery - was rendered immobile at the simple shock of her warning actually coming true. Unable to even so much as defend you - or herself - from the golden-haired traitor that had just blown an unstoppable metal juggernaut away with a simple pull of a trigger.

"Sempai," You beg the catatonic girl sitting slack on her knees, her eyes glazed over with shock. "Sempai, snap out of it. Please. You need to get up, get yourself out of here, please--"

Pain, hot and sharp, steals your breath - and words - away as the ribbons cinch tighter around you. Making you grit your teeth as you force yourself not to scream, not to give her the satisfaction of hearing you suffer.

"...For what it's worth, I never wanted for things to get this out of hand." You hear Mami say through the absolute agony of slowly, torturously being crushed to death. Her voice still cold, still dead, despite the clear hesitation in her words. "I was supposed to...take care of things long before it got to this point."

Through the pain, you hear Mami clear the breech of her massive golden rifle - and you blearily see her toss what appears to be a darkened soul gem over her shoulder, the spent bauble exploding to dust the moment it touched the ground. With mounting horror, you watch as she takes another soul gem - a sparkling green one, this time - from somewhere behind her and load it into her rifle with a heavy snap.

"But I didn't. Every time I was told to end things, I always held out the hope that she'd change. That she'd stay clear of the path she was destined to be on."

A sigh escapes her lips. The sigh of the massively-bereaved, the sigh of someone with the world's weight on their shoulders.

[1/2]

>>43033091

"But I'm not basing this just on dreams, Midori-san, if you're worried about that. Nor am I just relying on the prognostication of mind-addled Culexus. I've been doing some research of my own."

Your bonds slacken just the slightest bit - giving you a reprieve from the pain - and it's here that you see something behind Mami. A familiar demon in a Magical Girl costume, her pink hair tied into twintails, her sunless eyes as black as a shark's, her bloody lips peeled back in a razortooth grin.

She winks at you, giggling soundlessly, before pressing a crimson-smeared finger to her pursed lips.

"A massive anomaly in the time-space continuum." Mami continues to speak, seemingly not aware of the abomination behind her. "Timelines jumping left and right, stopping and starting, some of them branching off and invading the others. Some even fragmenting into multiple timelines, and even smashing into each other. Chaos. And then...suddenly, everything ends."

She points towards the catatonic fragment of your sempai.

"And it's all her fault."

No! You furiously shake your head, and make to scream - until one of the ribbons esnaring you snap up to stretch across your mouth, gagging you. You shriek into the taut fabric, your words ending up muffled, undecipherable.

"You have no idea how this feels, Midori-san." The blonde shakes her head as she looks down at you. "Knowing that one day, without warning - everything will be reset, with no one the wiser. Everyone losing their memories, of what they've been through, of the people they've loved and loved them in return...I had to do something.

"Seeing what comes next...I couldn't afford to stand idly by anymore."

You make to struggle again, to continue squirming against your bonds in futility - but you stop as you suddenly realize that they've been growing slack ever since Pinky appeared. You look at her again, and she continues to signal you to stay quiet.

[2/3]
>>
>>43033106

"I tried, you have to understand that." Mami turns to you, her eyes sincere, the coldness in her voice suddenly giving way to needy desperation. "My first choice of action was to go for a non-violent means to stop the anomaly from happening to this timeline. I thought if I could only get Chiaki-san off the path she was headed, she'd change her mind and be the person she wanted to be, rather than what she was meant to be. A hero. ...My hero."

She shakes her head. "I gave her everything I could give her, and what I couldn't I forced the world to. Fame. Fortune. Becoming someone important, being someone who everyone looked up to. Good friends. Good food. Love. Companionship."

Mami smiles here, brokenly. "I even summoned a Witch right in my very apartment, so she could rescue me. So she could feel how it is to be a hero, instead of the villain the universe wanted her to be."

You glare at her while trying to keep absolutely still. The ribbons have loosened to the point that you could get up and slap her if you wanted to - but you don't. Not yet. Not while she still has that golden rifle trained at you.

And besides, Pinky seems to be waiting for something, too...

"But no. Even after everything, she still turned into...into THAT." Mami's face hardened. "You saw her, Midori. What she turned into. That...that THING with the dreadful wings. The thing that's going to kill us all. And I made my decision then - I wasn't going to wait for things to improve anymore. I was going to have to be proactive about it."

She looks at Chiaki, before finally swivelling her golden musket to aim squarely at your sempai's head. "I know what you're thinking, Midori-san. I know how much you despise me right now - that I'm no better than a traitor, and should be executed for such. And you're...you're completely right."

[3/4]
>>
>>43033118

Her voice shakes for a moment. "But I'll live with that. I'll live with the sin of betrayal. I'll even take Miss Valnikov's title. But if you think for one moment that I didn't try to save her - if I didn't try everything I could think of doing first - then you're sadly mistaken. But that's alright - I'm used to not being understood."

Your heart pounding in your ears, thudding against your chest as adrenalin begins to pump through your veins - you clench your teeth as the moment you've been waiting for presents itself. The moment where Mami's attention is fully focused on something else - that being your motionless, helpless sempai. Her finger tightening on the trigger, her entire body tensing for that one final act of betrayal.

"I'm sorry, Chiaki-san. I tried, I really did." Tears begin to make their way down the blonde's face. "But this...this has to be done. I'm sorry. I hope you'll forgive me in time, but...it's alright if you don't."

Mami fires her Golden Weapon --

-- and the migraine-bright beam hits nothing as you crash headlong into the blonde. You feel something in your left shoulder crack as the both of you land hard on the hard-packed ground, cursing and clawing at each other.

No time to think. Just enough time to react.

Let up for one moment and she'll kill you right here and now.

What do you do?

There are three things that really bother me:
1- How Mami teleported? The First lend her one of their teleporters? If that is the case, this lend us to the second question:
2- Why lend her a teleporter for "personal use"? How much has Mami told them about what is happening? And so, our last question:
3- Is the First aware of what is happening? If so, how much does it knows? Because them knowing too much means that Mami is the last of our problems, considering that they are going to declare Chiaki Traitoris Extremis and all the Officios are coming to buttfuck us and our Officio
>>
>>43033275
The memory encapsulation and throwing it into someone's mind takes an instant, as was seen with Kyouko and with sending the memories to the Golden Weapon spirits.

>>43033281
We could have told Mami when she appeared right now, instead of panicking and getting Tiny Pete killed. Now things are an even worse mess.
And by sending memories through a psychic package, they're considered to be very reliable to be true, enough that Kyouko and Yuu believed Midori's story.

>>43033285
Pinky can't read minds, we've seen that. So we push the information into Mami's mind along with the threat of Pinky being right here so she doesn't spill about Godoka.
>>
>>43033342
You realize that she could already be aware of what's going on right?
>>
>>43033083
Oh, the Mami shoe finally dropped? Been a long, long time coming.
>>
>>43033353
Yeah, it's possible.
But hitting Mami with a psychic punch loaded with memories is still a good way to slow her down.
If she was already aware of the purpose of the Golden Weapons and that Pinky said that Chiaki's current form gives her a better chance at the final fight, then we still knocked her mentally back enough for us to do something else.

And if she wasn't aware, then it's a chance to show Mami that she shouldn't be listening to the Golden Weapons or to the Blessed Lady.

I'm gonna say this now: we need to take Mami alive if at all possible. If we kill her, it brings about the bad end dream we had where everybody goes to ear with Chiaki. We need her alive so we can convince everyone that she's a traitorous, unhinged psychopath with a gun that shoots souls, and who intentionally summoned a witch.
>>
>>43033438
Well it's a little late for that, isn't it?
Only 2 votes were for taking Mami alive by trying to knock her out, everyone else voted to either shoot her, ask Pinky for help (which means Mami's soul will get eaten), or give the gun to Chiaki who we don't control and therefore will either not do anything because she's still in shock or will shoot Mami immediately.
>>
>>43033438
Mmm... In my opinion, is better to attrack her to our side rather than reveal what she did

>>43033489

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Sometimes, I think anons want the story to follow a particular path and vote purposely to that end.
>>
>>43033597
Listen, I've been at his for 3 years now and experience has taught me that the stupidest option is always the correct one.
>>
>>43033597
This is the same group of people that summoned Tiny Pete and got him killed.
Someone said that we can restore him from backups, but I really don't see that.
We would need a compatible computer system to house his machine spirit, which we are unlikely to have, and even if we did, we don't even have an AI core that he could be restored to.
I'm pretty sure that Tiny Pete has gone the way of Mirai; a supporting character that you could have saved, but then did something really stupid that got them killed and removed from the story.
>>
>>43033638
>Mirai
Don't remind me.

But maybe if we just kill everyone, we can end this quest before 2017
>>
>>43033608
>I think anons want the story to follow a particular path
They just want to get railroaded into what Decu has planned.
Otherwise, why would they always pick one of the offered rails/choices, instead of a write-in?
>>
>>43033656
>But maybe if we just kill everyone
Next is Misaka. Maybe we can use Yuu to kill her and Rhea.
>>
>>43033597
So which way did you vote?
Did you vote to have Pinky consume Mami's soul?
Or were you just unfortunate enough to be too late?
>>
>>43033661
Because many times, choosing a write-in option forces Decu to alter all his story. With the options presented, Decu already knows what he has to write and the story is faster. Besides, Decu tries to present options with bad and good consequences
>>
is it not a good time?

Can you show where that is true? Has Decu said that on his Ask? Because with the time between posts, I don't see any difference.

>Besides, Decu tries to present options with bad and good consequences
And frequently the bad will outweight the good for bad options.
We've already been told that this entire arc was accelerated and made worse by the choice of handing over our Soul Gem, even if it made the Ahriman fight a cake walk.
>>
>>43033678
Pinky. She deserves some screen time.

Mami deserves to have her soul eaten. It's also the option with the highest chance of winning. Getting rid of Midori is a nice bonus.
>>
>>43033758
Did you vote to call in Tiny Pete?
>>
>>43033753
No, anon. I am only gessing that if Decu put options to choose, he already knows how they affect his story, and so, knows how to put that in words

>>
>>43033661

Well, most of the time write-ins take some time to plan out and write into a coherent post. Even if the write-in is a very good idea, the other pre-written options will get a lot of votes unless the write-in anon was correct in predicting the path the last vote would take and can post the write-in early.

Also, we're on an arc that has been exhausting and agonizingly long for some people. Their main objective may be to get past this as quickly as possible. HAPPENINGS are great, but at this point it's been nothing but HAPPENINGS for maybe a few months straight. We're on a boat ride that never ends made of HAPPENINGS on planet Namek which there are things HAPPENINGS and there are five minutes until it HAPPENS.
>>
>>43033854
Then you got what you wanted, a dead Tiny Pete.
>>
>>43033883
It's simply pure player laziness, because you can still change your vote until voting closes.
This doesn't excuse any anon from picking a pre-written choice and then walking away.

Getting past this arc as quickly as possible is also the way to fuck this up the most and get well-liked characters killed.
If they can't handle it, then they should do what others have done and leave until the arc is over.

As a player I can see that this a defeat event from which we will only escape through deus ex machina -->Pinky or Homucifer
The thing is, I'm trying to roleplay this quest so I pick choices that appear IC to me.
Midori seems needy so I believe that she would try and rely on Pete or Pinky once she is in a corner (she did the same thing during MidoriQuest 1). I also voted for the pulsing thing without believing in it, simply because I thought Midori would.
>>
>>43034167

>>
>>43034167
>Midori seems needy so I believe that she would try and rely on Pete or Pinky once she is in a corner (she did the same thing during MidoriQuest 1)
She relied on the others in Siberia because she's an infiltration and information specialist in a hostile environment going up against combat-oriented enemies. Of fucking course she'd choose to rely on melee heavy-hitters when she's told she needs to not only find, but also subdue and capture alive, a bruiser that can shrug off the tranq darts she has and she's limited in the magic she can expend.

She doesn't rely on Eversors and Vindicares because she's needy, she relies on them because she's a squishy Callidus and it's the smart thing to do.
It's like calling a crypto-analyst needy for having a pair of infantry escort him into enemy territory.
>>
>>43034293
This.
>>
>>43034285
I mostly just want her to feel guilty.
>>
>>43034327
Mami can't feel guilty if she's only been told the lies fed to her by the Golden Musket and Pinky, and isn't broken free of the GM's influence.

Which isn't going to happen if she's dead. Nor will it happen if we don't show her the truth that's been kept from her.
>>
>>43033952

I agree, though it's just a bit tiring to get through the long and drawn-out Prophet arc, then be confronted with a Midori Quest that's pretty much a rehash of the first one. I like Midori, but this is just retreading old ground with additional burgerbutt DLC. Don't get me wrong, I like Midori partnering up with Wendy, but it just feels kinda samey.
>>
Before Decu posts, how do you think this is going to end? I think the option to give Chiaki the DEagle is the option that won
>>
>>43034293
That's true. It's been a while since I read the Siberia arc, so I mostly remember her character from the dating stuff after that. That's probably where the needy comes from.
Replace it with squishy and the rest of my reasoning stands.
>>
>>43033145 >>43033148 >>43033151 >>43033152

The most dangerous place to fight a Callidus is on the ground. You've heard that a lot of times during training, sometimes said seriously, sometimes with a knowing smirk on the speaker's face and a smarmy waggling.

But it's true. Of all the ranks - with the exception of the ever-unpredictable, ever enigmatic Culexus - only the Callidus is trained to fight this up close. Eversors are trained for unarmed and melee combat, sure, but they're the most deadly with enough space to move, to kick, to punch, to slash. A Vindicare is trained to cut and stab and slash with a combat knife, but only in desperation, and even then very rarely.

A Callidus is trained, from day one, to be at her deadliest at full body contact, where things such as trigger discipline and martial art forms get thrown out the window, replaced by nothing more than reflex and instinct and nerves. Whether it's how to best embrace someone in order to conceal the knife in your hand that you'll be stabbing into their back - or to grapple with a golden weapon-wielding Vindicare in order to stop her from shooting you AND to steal something from her Inventory - you were trained for it.

It's also one of the few things you're actually good at.

Thankfully, the latter is exactly what you're trying to do, except the Vindicare in this situation is someone who's not only wielding a golden weapon, but also clearly and horribly strong on the physical side.

Even with your experience with leverage and holds and joint locks, you still find yourself barely managing to maintain control of the situation, with Mami almost nearly throwing you off with sheer brute force. But you hang on, using all your strength to do so, a strength aided by both the adrenalin coursing in your veins and the fear gnawing at your core.

[1/2]
>>
>>43034442

Cursing your name, your rank and your heritage - Mami summons a rifle, white and gleaming, from somewhere inside her left sleeve, her fingers curling around the barrel. You smash your elbow into her left wrist, numbing it temporarily and making her drop the weapon - giving you enough time to kick it away, just as you continue pinning the golden rifle to the ground with the entire weight of your body.

A moment later and she summons her ribbons - five strips of it, sprouting out of nowhere, sharp as blades and stiff as swords. You duck under the swipe of one, and lean away from the other, before summoning your own Magical Weapon and rending all five to shreds in one, clean cut.

Your Magical Weapon. Something you never really liked using, and made a point never to use unless you really needed it. A simple butterfly knife that could cut anything you wanted to, when you absolutely needed to. It's nothing special - it doesn't even have any engravings, looking like a cheap butterfly knife made to be sold online to kids with second-year syndrome and an overwhelming desire to lash out - but it was a reliable, dependable blade. A knife you promised to yourself you'd never use to kill - simply because you knew that no matter what, you could always get yourself out of trouble before having to take someone's life with your own hands.

Mami shrieks and bucks again, and you hang on hard and fast as she tries to lever the golden rifle out from underneath you, no doubt chomping at the bit to reload. At that span of time, barely longer than an eyeblink, at least two opportunities present itself for you to cut her throat open, to end it here - but even with the adrenalin singing in your veins and your own common sense screaming at you to get back at the traitor, you let the opportunities pass, one after the other, your knife vanishing into the ether.

[2/3]
>>
>>43034456

You can't.

You won't.

This is still Mami, when all is said is done. Horribly misguided, frighteningly motivated to make the worst decision of her life - and that of everyone else's - she is still the person who had been there for you sempai before you were. And you heard her concern - her hesitation - at the world-ending atrocity that she was about to do.

That counts for something.

That counts for everything.

And you're not going to kill her without doing everything you can to try and talk her out of it first.

But not right now. Not when you're trying to survive this encounter, to stop her from committing the mistake that would doom everyone to a dark, dreamless death.

Certainly not when you're trying to hold on long enough to steal something from her inventory.

Something that you finally manage to grab hold of and pull free - just as she manages to kick you away from her, with a devastating kick that knocks the wind out of you at and at the same time break three of your ribs.

But you ignore it. You ignore every joint, every muscle, every bone in your body screaming in pain and for a moment's respite as you roll with your fall, coming to a stop just long enough to throw the golden desert eagle, holster and all, at your sempai.

And you smile as you see your sempai's eyes light up at the sight of the Golden Weapon, sentience returning to them, her hands outstretched to catch it.

"NO! MIDORI, YOU--!!!" Mami screams - and you turn just in time for her to aim her golden weapon at you. The tip of the rifle glowing with an unearthly blue light. The light of your own impending death.

But instead of fear - instead of rage - all you feel is calm. A placid, almost relieved sense of peace, in such sharp contrast from everything else that you almost feel like laughing. Or crying. Or both at the same time.

You just have enough time to say something before everything ends.

What do you say?

There is the possibility that she can't intercept the message. We don't know for real. And sharing our knowledge seems like like the best way to stop Mami and put her on our side
>>
>>43034975

Midori doesn't have a thousand time cycles worth of knowledge, so that shouldn't happen.

>>
>>43034529

With your own doom approaching, you decide to forgo any cutting rejoinder, any witticism about having a bad time to your murderer.

Instead, you decide to gather everything you've learned and deem to be important to your sempai's past, present and future - along with all the memories you've created with her - into a pulsed thought. A thought that would fill them with all the information they need to continue.

But you only have time to send it to one person and one person alone.

Who do you send it to?

Agreed with >>43035168 Mami is a zealot, and if she comes to understand what Midori has seen, she may well react with hardened determination rather than reconsideration, and use the knowledge against Chiaki. Worse, it could endanger others. Wendy can't really do anything with it. But leaving your loved one with the memories of your time together as YOU experienced them is something unique and seems just like Midori. Not to mention that Chiaki might be able to use some of it in the future as things start getting crazy and it'll inform her future decision-making (i.e. a pass to use knowledge from Midori's perspective that may otherwise be meta). Mami and Wendy risk too much making this a wasted opportunity.

You send that pulsed thought with whatever strength is left in your body - no, your soul. Feeling your body finally give out from that one last burst of effort, one that's immediately validated by the pulse recipient's sudden confusion, and then her stark realization. Proving that you not only succeeded at telling them what you wanted to say, but you also made them understand.

You close your eyes and smile as the light takes you, then overwhelms you.

Letting yourself fall into the darkness that you've eluded for so long, after that fateful day in Siberia.

Thank you, sempai, you think as the darkness claims you, holding you in its warm, loving embrace.

Thank you for everything. For all the memories.

You did what you could. It's all in her hands now.

Your only regret is not being able to say goodbye.

...Well, that's okay.

You probably wouldn't be able to stop yourself crying long enough to do so.

. . .

. . .

. . .

But just as you feel yourself slipping away, you hear someone whisper in your ear, the moment the sweet, cinnamon scent of rotting bodies fills your nostrils.

I remember you said that doing so accelerated a lot of things and made things worse, and what we got out of it was making the Ahriman fight easy at the expense of everything else.

You would have to imply in some fashion that you disagree with the upside somehow, otherwise people will see you mention the upside and assume you are supportive of it.
Especially if the post chain was talking about there being little to no upsides worth the downsides of the decision.

Yes, because you did not imply in any way that you felt that the downsides were not an equitable or advantageous exchange for an increased pace.
We can only judge by the text of your post, and an image if you include one.

Your post was made in response to to a chain saying how we got little to nothing positive from the exchange, and anything positive we did get was not worth the massive amount of negatives. Your post then went on to say that we got one effect from the exchange, instead of seeing it as a negative (things coming at us so fast we don't have time or resources to fend them off properly), we should see it as a positive.
With nothing else to go by in that post, seeing it as a defense of the exchange is obvious.

>>
>>43037765

It's also doubly frustrating when Decu only allows a voting extension on the choice of "who do you relay this information to before your character dies?" when that option was presented earlier and nobody pays attention to it because it's a write-in. Then the QM ignores that option as a standard choice until the very end.
>>
>>43037802

Sometimes, anon, the author just wants the story to go in one direction. This direction was sealed when Mami managed to somehow teleport into a never seen-before witch barrier with pinpoint precision and knock out any other characters who could have done anything.
>>
>>43037802

>>43037805
It is exactly that. Except Adam tried to put it in his butt first or something so it was just confusing on top of terrible.

>>43037835
In Decu's defense, there's also a matter of working a sudden new option into a scene in a way where it makes sense and flows smoothly.
>>
>>43037744
>It's really frustrating when a slim minority of anons figure out how to get out of a situation alive, yet nobody listens to them until it's too late.
Decu will still take write-ins even if they're not 'popular', e.g. figuring out the tower was a distraction.
>>
>>43037697
>Yes, because you did not imply in any way that you felt that the downsides were not an equitable or advantageous exchange for an increased pace.
Was my sarcasm not evident, or did I need to say that the quest would only continue for a million years with everyone trying to kill the MC, rather than 10 billion?
>>
>>43037896
>In Decu's defense, there's also a matter of working a sudden new option into a scene in a way where it makes sense and flows smoothly.
Okay, yeah, but the option of mind-slamming Mami with the realization she's been played a fool this entire time could have been inserted at any point when Midori was tied up, which was 3 different vote chances.
>>
>>43037896

I can see how Decu could have some trouble with that, but it's one thing to selectively incorporate write-ins to expedite things not five threads ago and ignore another write-in that could have also made a similar impact.

I get that he's not perfect and that this is a continuous learning process, but ignoring a potential future-altering decision in favor of a smoothly flowing scene (which leads to a character dying, no less) feels kind of scummy.

There were still people saying that it was the most retarded idea since Get Fucked and handing over our Soul Gem, and was even the worst decision in the entire quest.

We don't know the full fallout of the memory dump, or of Midori's soul getting caught by Pinky, so I don't think we should pass judgement yet.

Remember how many people were cheering when we curbstomped Ahriman after Chiaki transformed into TTO?

Though the entire undoctored/uncensored infodump could have been prevented if more anons voted for the infodump option BEFORE actually being mere milliseconds away from death. Or if Decu didn't ignore the write-in.

I dunno. I just feel kinda cheated and led on by all this. Midori Quest 2, which is extremely similar to Midori Quest 1 only with more roundabouts and fruitless investigations, a betrayal that was heavily TOLD and not heavily SHOWN, and less ability to influence the direction of the ending.

Burgerbutt didn't really do anything useful there either. Maybe we should have pulsed her instead of calling Tiny Pete in. Pretty sure she's immune to death flags at this point.

>if more anons voted for the infodump option BEFORE actually being mere milliseconds away from death.
We could have done it before wasting our breath and time by calling Mami a traitor and that this isn't what Chiaki wanted.
We could have done it before calling Tiny Pete.
We could have done it before doing Flesh of Fallen Angels to call in Pinky.

Compared to Midori Quest 1's final battle, instead of having the stupid decision in the beginning end the fight for us, we were given multiple chances to choose the action that would bloodlessly end the confrontation but didn't take it, and we only did it at the end when it already didn't matter.

Though it's frustrating that the memory dump had almost won after Tiny Pete was killed, but Flesh of Fallen Angels just edged it out, and that's what called Pinky here in the first place.

I agree wholeheartedly. But the frustrating thing is that Decu incorporated non-majority write-ins earlier in the quest to skip the entire tower part. Yet this write-in did not pass whatever criteria he had in place for the last one.
>>
>>43038891

I love the quest, but jesus christ, this playerbase is killing me. Most vote without thinking about long-term consequences, others will vote out of sheer HAPPENINGS, others will vote out of spite or to arbitrarily kill characters they don't like.
>>
>>43038949
Are you sure this wasn't a majority vote? I don't remember anyone complaining back then.
>>
>>43039000

Nobody complained back then because he used the write-in to bypass a grueling and fruitless and potentially lethal red herring.
>>
>>43038997
>this playerbase is killing me
I know, and when we try to do the smart thing we get overruled or told that it's completely retarded.
But again, let's save it for next thread, so that we can see whether this was actually a good idea or not.
>>
>>43039028
I just checked the archive and []other won an overwhelming majority. They were all suggesting different things though, some just []other without any input at all.
>>
>>43039102
It *was* a good idea when Pinky wasn't around.

Now that Pinky was there and actively observing, it may have been one of the worst decisions ever.

>>43039106

So while it's not exactly a minority write-in victory, it basically had the same effect.

I just feel really cheated. It feels like that sometimes we'll be allowed shortcuts to do the smart things, sometimes we'll be denied because Decu really wants the plot to go into one direction. Sometimes he won't give prompts for confirming really bad decisions, and sometimes he will. But he'll ignore smart minority write-ins if it will advance the plot in the direction that he wants.

Even if that's not what he intends, that's what it sure feels like right now.
>>
>>43039159
>Now that Pinky was there and actively observing, it may have been one of the worst decisions ever.
Midori's soul was going to get caught by Pinky and information ripped from her regardless whether we sent the information to Mami or not.

Midori is a Vessel of the Blessed Lady. She would have been caught unless we kept her from being killed, which it was too late to prevent.
>>
>>43039262

Which could have been prevented if Decu wasn't selectively ignoring write-ins. Or if anons weren't so damn stupid or so intent on trading in the current waifu for a shiny new one.
>>
>>43039159
>Now that Pinky was there and actively observing, it may have been one of the worst decisions ever.
And if Pinky didn't intercept it at all because even though she's a god, there are limits? Especially because she's constantly fighting Godoka unconsciously and TTO.
