It's March. The weather is cold, the grounds and the castle is white with all the snow, the sun rarely reveals herself behind the clouds. The House Cup results are as follows:

>Gryffindor 165
>Slytherin 200
>Ravenclaw 235
>Hufflepuff 290

Hufflepuff thanks to their last victory in Quidditch, is also on the lead in the House Cup. Professor Flitwick seems quite excited for today's match and even attends to the breakfast and eats at the same table with you students, cheering and chanting during all the meal to much annoyance of other Houses and Professors tables. After the breakfast you take your broom and your Quidditch kit to head to the pitch with Tim. Anya, Glenn and Valdis all wish you good luck and they also get going to get a nice spot.

The weather is seeming to get worsen. It's not snowing anymore but the clouds are pretty dark. It doesn't even look like a morning but like dusk. You are sure a storm is about to start. With the first whistle blown, you and the rest of your team start flying.

>Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin

I will use the same rules as the last match for the game. I will get 3 rolls in total for the match. Let's see how it goes.

The Ravenclaw starts the game quite good. Anthony leads the attacks with high speed Woollongong Shimmy movements, and confuses the defenders of Slytherin with rapid zig zags and fast passing of the Quaffles back and forth. Ravenclaw chasers start scoring a lot while the Slytherin is slow and has no score.

The weather starts getting worse. You see a bright flash and a few seconds later the sky roars and the water follows as if somebody is dropping buckets from the clouds on you. It's raining as hell.

Lot of 10s for the 10th thread

The storm is going on full force...just like the Ravenclaw team. With the rain, howling wind, roaring sky and flashing lightnings it looks like a complete tornado of blue and bronze in the Quidditch pitch. Slytherin is yet to score any goals while the Ravenclaw is completely destroying them.

You start diving like crazy suddenly, going full speed descend, the Slytherin seeker, thinking you have seen the Snitch also follows. Just at the right moment you suddenly pull up, the clueless Slytherin seeker still going down fails to notice your sudden pull-up, continues to descend. You manage to make a quite good Wronski Feint move. The Slytherin seeker understand his mistake all too late, trying to slow down at the last seconds, (thankfully) falling down on the ground at a reasonable speed without major injuries yet he will have to waste some more time getting up and flying.

You are back on a higher altitude yet no sign of the snitch. It is very, very difficult to spot anything in this weather at all. You can't even see properly your teammates or the people who are watching the game. You can hardly make out what the commentator is saying.

Ravenclaw is ahead of Slytherin by a lot of points, that seems practically impossible to catch up, even with the Snitch. Yet the Slytherin seeker, who feels very embarrassed to be fooled by a first grader new seeker, has decided to end the game on his own terms.

He catches a glimpse of the Snitch and rapidly dives to get it. Once you realize what is happening it's already too late. The Slytherin seeker catches the Snitch. The match finishes. Yet it's a victory for the Ravenclaw.

Yeah, would have been 350 points up.
But damn. Whoever was playing seeker for Slytherin, they are going to be the only one on that team walking out of this with any pride intact. Except maybe the one chaser that scored. Their pride will only be moderately shredded.

After the match, the team is hailed as heroes back in the Ravenclaw tower. You feel a bit strange to not catching the Snitch, as if your victory is not quite complete but after you see Professor Flitwick going crazy in the tower with chanting for Ravenclaw you forget about it. This means of course the next match between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff will be the final match to decide who will be the Champions. Too much pressure.

The party goes on yet Anya leaves early to go to the sleep. Valdis makes a bit fun of her after she leaves. "She needs to relax a bit!"

You spend a couple of more hours having fun with Valdis, Tim, Glenn and some other first graders like Bryan, Juliette and Alice.

People usually talk about the Quidditch match, how you tricked the Slytherin seeker, how Ravenclaw won despite now catching the Snitch, how we will destroy Hufflepuff in the final...and then some gossips, you hear some stupid story about two fourth grader girls in Ravenclaw fighting with each other for a Gryffindor boy, how annoying Professor Snape is, is Professor Flitwick half Goblin or Half Elf, how can a newborn baby not get killed by the Killing Curse, what happens to the people in Azkaban, Professor Binns is the most boring person in history of the world...and so on.

You start to feel sleepy too.

You speak a bit more with Alice before going to bed. She is a short petite girl with short blonde hair and a quite pale skin. She tells you one day she will have her own articles in the Prophet and she wants to be a journalist. She says she wants to create a club for journalism minded students next year and asks you if you will be interested. You have never shown any interest in newspapers, news or journalists in general so you politely say "Maybe..." and change the subject.

After a bit more chat you leave the common area to go to sleep.

Next day, the stories of the Quidditch are still the only thing spoken in the Ravenclaw tower and also in the castle in general. You and your friends make your way to the DADA class, that is in common with the Gryffindor.

You sit next to Anya and wait for the class to start. You look around to see Alba for the first time after the Gryffindor's defeat. She looks normal, even waves at you friendly.

Anya starts telling you about something she has read in a book while doing some research on the Goblins. "...you know that they always consider objects made my them to be theirs, no matter even if they sell it to the wizards...And we saw he was carrying some kind of chest or something...so I think he was trying to take something from the Castle that is made by him or other Goblins."

"So he was stealing something you think?" you ask.

"Yes...well not stealing for him because to him it's already his stuff...but yeah. What do you think?"

"I am not sure... I mean he knew he was stealing something...why would he run away and let that creature on us otherwise? I think he was up to something else..." Then you are interrupted by the Professor Phyillia starting the class.

"Today we will be learning about a spell that can help you a lot if used well. It is not a curse or a powerful charm. It is not anything offensive. Our class is the Defence against the Dark Arts so I will be teaching you how to defend yourself and your best defend is your allies and friends. Of course there is certain power you would find in offensive spells, charms or curses. Something that would give you courage and trust. Even joy. There are not many people honest enough to admit that it is a pleasure to inflict pain, to have power to defend yourself or to make others fear you. That is why many wizard and witch find the Dark Arts attractive and that is precisely why you need to know how to defend yourself and to know how they think. The spell you will learn is "Periculum" it is a simple and basic spell, that makes you shoot a very big and bright beacon to the sky so anyone for miles can spot it...and hopefully come to your help." She walks around the classroom with grace and speaks with a soft silky voice. She claps her hands and the ceiling of the room changes dramatically to a night sky that looks like there are no more ceilings anymore. "Now...who can show me how to do it? Anyone cast this before? Ah yes Miss Morteno." Alba looks confident, casts the spell perfectly, aimed at the sky. A red beacon of light launches from her want that looks like a flare gun. "Very good! 10 points to Gryffindor!" Alba looking happy, sits back down to her seat.

Then Professor continues to teach about the spell and finally everyone tries to cast it.

>Learned the spell Periculum

"Wow you are really good at this, John!" Anya whispers, trying to cast her own.

After all the castings are done Professor keeps talking about the Dark Arts and the Dark Wizards. "Well in our wizarding world, most wizards and witches are much too concerned with themselves to be malicious, thankfully. Yet many are also drawn to the Dark Arts originally in the pursuit of knowledge." She seems to be more addressing the Ravenclaw side of the class now. "The knowledge, the secrets, hunger for more, the forbidden knowledge... Tempting... This is how many wizards fall into ruin. By trying to achieve more than what is permitted and in the meantime lose themselves. We will read on some of the tragic stories next week..."

After the class finishes Alba catches up with you. "Hey John! I heard you did a really nice move at the match. I wasn't there because Professor McGonagall has put me in detention..." She seems really angry about it. "But anyway... When I was in the library I saw a Slytherin boy named David, there was really nobody else in the library since everyone was at the match and it was the Slytherin's match so I found it odd that he was in the library also. Then something really strange happened. Some books near the main door suddenly caught fire. And I of course tried to run there to help with the fire as the Madam Pince was trying to take out the fire like a crazy person... I think she is in love with those books...Anyway, after it was done a few minutes later I saw this David coming out between the books on the other side of the library. Near the restricted section. Then he just left... So then I checked the library book and his name. I found out he checked out six different potions book in the last semester. I don't think this is normal."

Meanwhile you can see the Hufflepuff girl Mary from the Book Club keeps looking at you during her work. Glenn and Anya are trying to plant some mushrooms also and the rest of the class just faking to work in the ground but actually chatting or killing time. You are left with your own thoughts. Some strange things either happening around or nothing is actually going on and people are starting to get paranoid.

You also start to take notice of certain rivalries getting more and more serious with the passing time as the first graders truly starts to feel like they are in Hogwarts now. The Gryffindor and Slytherins do seem to like dislike each other greatly. And Hufflepuffs seems to be trying to be at odds with Ravenclaw at any given turn, especially when everyone is waiting for the final match between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. They sure seem to be taking it really seriously. And for Gryffindor and Slytherin, since they have no more chance to become champions, for them the last match is even more important now to beat each other. You can sense trouble brewing...

You try to cast the spell but you fail and you almost lose control of your broom and almost drop your wand. The flying shadow descends more and more and enters the forest. You are about to cross into the Forbidden Forest's area, which is obviously: forbidden.
