You take up a position outside as the men search the building.

Elodia follows, the little Sentinel is surprisingly nimble..
"So what yous your kill count again,, about thirty orks on foot and two of the dreds, including the big one?"

"That's about right."

"Not bad, I mean I killed more of the walkers, and I'm not really sure the little ones count for much when you're that big."

You shake your head laughing
"You killed more than me?"

"Best sentinel pilot the regiment's seen on over 500 years,
I got two dredds and three kans, didn't bother with the little ones lascannon would only let me hit one at a time,
I did squash a few though."

You're pretty surprised by this.
"That's actually pretty impressive

"What you don't think a girl should be able to fight?"

"Oh no we've plenty of female knights, I mean that you managed in in a sentinel."

You hear a clanging noise that you're pretty sure is her putting her feet up on the sentinel equivalent of a dashboard.

"What can I say, this is my baby, I would love to get my hands on one of those knights though."
You can just about hear the whine of valkyrie engines in the distance.

Lets take lliza's knight and give it to Elodia for a "trial run" and bribe on of the magos with a toaster saying that her knight was sent back to a forgeworld for "maintence" because the house Sacristan is on vacation.

It's not possible, you're actually hooked up to it, it's driven by your mind.
You need some pretty intensive training, as well as a pilots suit.

Knights actually feel the Titan asthough it was their own body.

There isn't actually much extra room inside either.

She laughs.
"Niiice, so you knights are all nobles and stuff right?"

"That's right."

"I kind of expected you to be more stuck up, buy you're alright."

The valkyries come into land infront of you,
The doors open and two squads of men in carapace armour march out, forming a perimeter.

The Techpriests follow soon after,
They seem shocked to see you and quickly kneel.

You get the feeling that this is more for the titan than you.

The leader stands and steps forward.

They follow you through the damaged doors and up to the orkish titan.

The ones with biological mouths gasp, shocked that even xenos would dare create such an abomination.

The leader steps forward to begin the initial examination.

"Ah it appears that the gun mounted in the chest is a standard mars pattern Demolisher cannon, it should be salvageable.
The orks do not seem to have time to make many alterations, perhaps those were to come once this vile monstrosity was complete.
Quite a few of these parts seem unaltered, though the arrangement is quite clearly heretical in nature.
with luck we can ease the machine spirits pain, the worst of this may be reborn in the sacred forges.
It will take time to see just what can be saved.
You have done well great knight in preventing the completion of this xeno machine."

He bows.

"In return for this you need only ask and we will provide you with any two pieces of equipment we have the authority to give the local guardsmen."

We should ask for no Armour and instead ask if they would be willing to inspect the vessel of our machine spirit (The knight), for it would be an honor if a true servant of the machine spirit would look it over rather then a lowly sacristan. Then have the items that we would be getting given instead to the guard.
>>
Please, oh please, power weapon!
A sword is perfect, but a power axe or cleaver is nice. Carapace armor is nice, as well, but what if we are challenged by a rival, or a SPEHSS MAHREEN, or an angry commander? A power weapon is as much of status symbol as an effective weapon in combat. We can't always rely on our Knight.
>>
>>43132579

No. We need something to cover our ass in case we have to bail from the knight. We're already giving one gift to the rest of the squad, and that's more than is expected of us in and of itself; beyond that, it's in our best interest to get the carapace armour. However, it would be in everyone's best interest to ask for one of the tech priests to stick around.

.

"You are a generous man sir knight, we will see what supplies we can spare to this group of guardsmen.
Perhaps some more specialist weapons,
We will also provide you with a suit of carapace armour
Made to allow you to interface with the machine spirit while wearing it."
You nod this meeting has gone well, you had heard the mechanicus could be hard to deal with.

"If you'll excuse me, my presence will be required outside in the event of a counter-attack"

The Priests are left to their work as you make your way back to your sentry post.

The lieutenant voxs you the moment you exit.

"Looks like you made some friends."

it seems that just being near techpriests annoys her.

"It's good to keep on good terms with people, but I'm pretty sure a lot of that was because of my Titan.
They offered me a reward for reclaiming this place,
But I had to let them know I couldn't take all the credit, you guys did a lot of the work."

She's silent for a second.

"Huh... you are really not what I expected we should really... talk more when we get back."

She goes back to her usual self after a minute or so of silence.

"So where exactly are you from anyway?"

"My homeworld is the knight world of Corna, it's fairly advanced for a knight world,
Many are simply feudal worlds, our planet has defended this sector for over five thousand years."

"Not far from home then really... mines on the other side of the galaxy, you've probably heard of Cadia, it's an alright place if you don't mind the giant evil sphincter in the sky."

You spend a few hours just talking, until you're relieved by an infantry regiment who will form the more permanent garrison.

Once you return to camp you're actually greeted by cheers from a few of the guardsmen.

Elodia explains.
"That place has been a pain in most of these guys asses ever since it fell."

You dismount along with the platoon.

the lieutenant nods to you,
"You head on, I've got some reports to write up, then we can 'talk'"

You arrive back at your tent, it's probably pretty luxurious compared to what most of the guardsmen have.
For one thing you don't have to share, there's also an actual bed.

There's a case sitting on said bed, that you presume contains your new armour.

You decide o try on your new armour,
It's fairly standard carapace armout on appearance though slightly more ornamental,
But you're pretty sure the base armour doesn't come with most of these ports and interfaces.

It's surprisingly comfortable, and weighs much less than you would think.

You decide to vox the techpriest from earlier to thank him.

"Ah honoured knight to what do I owe the pleasure?"

"I just thought I would thank you for the armour, it surpasses all of my expectations."

THere is very little emotion in his voice but you get the feeling that he is glad that you are happy with it.

"There is no need for gratitude, we are merely repaying our debt."

"You can consider it more than repaid."

It you take another few minutes to test the range of movement of the armour, when he entrance to your tent flaps open.

Elodia steps into the tent pulling off her helmet and looking around it's the first time you've actually seen her hair, it's blonde and kind of short compared with most women you're used to, though you'd guess it's a little long by guard standards.
"Well that took longer than I thought nice place you got here, I've one just like it, though I have to share with 5 other people."

She flops down on the bed, stretching out.
"And I definitely don't have one of these!"

Sitting up she pats the bed next to her.
"Sit down let's get to talking!"

I'm personally hoping she does. And personally, I say we mention the possibility of that to Elly, and to tell her that if it happens, we don't wanna stop because of it. Just keep going if she walks in, and ham it up even. Make Lizzy uncomfortable as shit.

I don't even care if she stays there for the whole thing. Finishing in front of her will be satisfying.

"So when'd you join up? how did you end up being the pilot behind that sentinel of yours?"

"Well there was never a point where I joined up, I'm Cadian it's in my blood my whole life was pretty much just one long bootcamp."

"As for the sentinel, well most of us are trained in the basics of all of the guards weapons and more common vehicles,
We're then placed where ever we fit best.
The first time I piloted training sentinel... it was amazing, for the first time I felt... in control,
Iot just a recruit, I was bigger than all the drill sergeants and commissars.
It wasn't like driving a chimera or a leman russ, it was like an extension of by body...
Nice armour by the way, that's not standard is it?
I'm guessing you got it from those cogboys right?"

You nod examining the back of one of your gauntlets.

"I was just testing it out, it's pretty good,
I'm still not used to getting in and out of it though,
I could probably do with some help, would you mind lending a hand?"

She smiles.
"I thought you'd never ask."

She gets you out of the armour surprisingly fast, you guess it must have at least some parts in common with flak armour.

"Huh... no scars, that's kind of weird, most Cadians have at least a few."

She runs a hand small slightly rougher hand than you're used to in women over your chest.

"It's kind of nice though..."

The Cadian girl shrugs.

"Well you've shown me yours."

She pulls off her flak armour piece by piece, shes's more muscular than the average girl from back home, you guess that comes with the guard lifestyle, or it could be in her genes.

Her breasts are more than you expected you guess the armour hides them pretty well.

"Like what you see?"

"Oh I do."

She smiles and pulls you on top of her.

She doesn't leave until the morning.

You're woken up by her climbing out of the bed.

"Oh frak sorry about that, I didn't mean to wake you up, but I've got a job to do."

You get out of there as fast as possible in the morning and let them wake up when ever they have to."

She shakes her head laughing.

"Civvies are weird."

After pulling on her armour she turns to look at you.
"We really should do this again sometime,
I've got a scouting run to go on, I'll see you around."

You make your way to the command tent.

SEveral guardsmen along the way greet you, some of them stopping what they're doing to salute.

It seems like you've become rather popular in just one day,
Guardsmen must appreciate a massive adamantium clad killing machine drawing most of the enemy fire.

Iliza's titan is already outside when you arrive.

You open the tent flap to find that the command staff are already hard at work.
"We could sent three of out knights to cut them off, the could most likely block off the pass."
Seems like there is already some plan being formed, the general is not quite as sure as Iliza

"Are you sure, they would be facing the ork convoy head on, we're already winning, this plan is reckless we just need to advance slowly and wait for the next shipment of men."

"We block the pass have your men advance to prevent their retreat, then we bombard them with all the artillery and air support we can muster, we could be half way to winning this in one battle."

She watches your reaction.
"Already?, Emperor damn it, what the fuck is wrong with you!
Actually don't answer that, You over heard atleast some of the plan what are your thoughts."

The general doesn't seem to know what to make of her outburst, and begins rearranging the map.

"I'll do it, it seems like a good plan but I'm not sure why we should go with such a risky attack when a slow advance would work just as well."]

She rolls her eyes.

"Of course a skill-less coward like you would say that,
Ending this war quickly means the guard don't have to stay bogged down on this rock,
And can be ready to respond to any other threats to the Imperium that may arise.
This is the first chance we've had to engage the leader of this horde on our terms

The longer we continue this war the more orks will be drawn to this planet.

I suppose talking like a vicodin addict really wouldn't be to our advantage here. The second part of my suggestion still stands though. Tell her to have the troops drill holes in the rock walls and fill them with demolition charges in preparation to collapse the pass in two spots and trap the green convoy in a pocket.
Let her and the general decide whether to drill to collapse the whole pocket or just save time on the extra drilling and drop bombs in from overhead.

It's a pass. The only reason a group typically uses a pass is because it's the only way through an area in any kind of a timely manner. If there's another route through/across the mountain, they'd be even easier pickings.

>>43144685
I'll back this minus getting the breakfast.

>>43144756
If we cant get demo charges or blow the pass then we should lay a bunch of mines or something that could blow up the convoy.

Guys, idea:
Lizzy's not the one in charge here. The General's the one in charge. We only need his support to do something. Let's talk to him away from Thin Lizzy and get him to greenlight us and supply us.
>>
So how does this whole mess work? We are a Freeblade, but we sere under her? Is there any scennario that could place us outside of her influence? I don't want to obey her for a longer duation that we absolutley have to.
>>
>>43144967
The way that we're gonna get out from under her is by proving that we don't fall in with our family and worship chaos. I don't know how to prove that, but it's what we need to do.
>>
>>43145024
I guess we'd have to score as many victories against the Arch-Enemy as we can. Meaning that Iliza might be right, and we need spend as little time on this rock playing tag with the orks as possible.
>>
>>43144967
Nominally, you are, you aren't part of the actual command structure, but she is in charge of all the other knights on the planet and you're deployed with them.

If she wants you dead she can probably get it done.

She's giving you orders because it's easier to have one person in charge of the knights.

Perfect. That give us a chance to figure out if we're gonna drill the walls, mine the floor, or just sit back and let Lizzy's idiot plan get us all killed.

My vote is still for collecting Elly, getting the general to greenlight us, and drilling at least one side of the pass. Even if we only collapse the pass to block their retreat, that lets us stack all of our troops on one side instead of splitting them.
>>
>>43145639

Damn. Yes, I am the guy that isn't familiar with WH40k stuff.

My plan already is to talk with the general and ask him to be outfitted for this; if he likes the idea better than the prospect of splitting his troops between the front and back and setting them up to be slaughtered, he'll send one or two units with us that CAN drill, and someone that can tell us the best spots to put the explosives.
>>
>>43146059
God damn dont you love it when a plan comes together.
We can set explovises in the pass then use the other charges to collapse it on the orks after that its a slaughter.

>>43146059
>>43146166
try a Hades breaching drill, those are used to assault fortifications by drilling through the ground under them.
>>
>>43146239
If everyone else agrees to rolling with the drilling route, we'll ask if there's a Hades in supply when we speak with the general.

Right now, it's just me (the guy spearheading the idea who also doesn't know much about WH40k or WH in general) and one or two other guys. I wanna see everyone here weigh in on this.
>>
>>43146312
We lack the time and collapsing only one end leave the Orks ability to escape.
>>
>>43146312
They might have it but they are used more for sieges. Guard knowledge and knight Titan knowledge isn't my strong suit.
>>
>>43146361
Usually only siege or specialty regiment have them. This so far seems to be neither.
>>
>>43131112
OP, how well equipped is this gaurd unit exactly? And how does its motor pool look?
>>
>>43146336
-IF- we only collapse one end, it'll be the end behind them. The end in front of them will be blocked off by the knights and other ground forces.

Though now that I think about it, a small group to the rear might be a nice investment to grind up any orks that manage to scale the debris. The group we invest to the rear won't need to be nearly as big as what Lizzy has planned now though.
>>
>>43146497
Your pre-supposing we have time for that, they won't counter it, and They'll all fit in the pass. WAAAAAGHS can have hundred of thousands of troops.
>>
>>43146554
Lizzy's plan is to block off their retreat with everyone that's not in a Knight, which means that the orks are already confirmed to fit in the pass, and she's planning on having all of them at the BACK of the pass, which means there's at least enough time to get them there and situate them so the orks can't see them before they enter the canyon.

The only uncertain thing here is their ability to counter it. If they can counter my drilling plan, they can dance a circle around Lizzy's plan.
>>
>>43146703
Let's make this easier. Claiming name to mitigate confusion.
>>

quest manager can we get a map of the battlefield before me make a decision so we know exactly what liz wants to do.
>>
>>43146922
Seconding this.
>>
>>43146940
we really needed to know what were going into, because if we cant drill it we could fire down on them from the top of the pass

I'll see if I can whip something up.

It's Valkir Heavy Support troopers from Dreamforge, armswapped to hold bolters and with custom heads...the company name escapes me.

i want to talk about killn orks and fighting with the GIANT ROBOT we have; we've also already got something to romance, more would turn this into another fetish quest.

It already is a fetish quest. This is what our character did before the quest started, and this is even WHY the quest started.

It would be a breach of character integrity to let this quest be anything else.
>>
>>43151282
>it's already a fetish quest
how?

>this is what our character did before the quest started
no, this is what was alluded towards, not made explicit to the reader.

>this is even WHY the quest was started.
says who, certainly not the quest manager as we start with being accused of heresy, not fucking to many women.

>it would be a breach of character
not true, as we don't have enough information on his past life to make that much of a decision on what is in or out of character.

i could be wrong due to the fact that this is player driven and thus subject to change but in no way is this a fetish quest.
>>
>>43151282
>>43151391
this anon is right.
>>
>>43151456
i'm only right if you're the quest manager, other wise, it's just you're opinion
>>
>>43151391
Being accused of heresy was HOW the quest started, not WHY the quest started. This quest started because we fucked Lizzy's best friend, and thre's no way that we didn't used to sleep with a bunch of women before this, being that we said "usually I'm the one sneaking out of bed".

I'll admit to this past being only alluded to thus far, but there's no evidence that we didn't sleep around, and no shortage of suggestions that we did.
>>
>>43150321
Skull purity seals? Perhaps a servo skull
>>
>>43151510
>Being accused of heresy was HOW the quest started, not WHY the quest started.
no that is exactly why the quest started; more specifically, it started so we cold clear our family name after being called a HERETIC!

>This quest started because we fucked Lizzy's best friend,
no, it didn't

>and thre's no way that we didn't used to sleep with a bunch of women
arguable, but not unfounded, with the "sneaking out of bed" line.

>I'll admit to this past being only alluded to thus far, but there's no evidence that we didn't sleep around, and no shortage of suggestions that we did.

fare enough, i just want this quest to be more about being a freeblade of a knight house turned to heresy; it's a more interesting premises as waifu fucking has been done in every other quest.
>>
>>43151615
>waifu fucking has been done in every other quest
Maybe it's time for husbandu fucking then?

Seriously though, why not balance fighting and fucking? That's something that was already suggested (more or less) by one of the NPCs.
>>
>>43151664
okay, i'm not going to argue this shit with you as OP has yet to return and we have yet to finalize a plane to fight the orks in the pass.

you wanted to drill in through the sides right, what could we do to ensure that the gaurd and ourselves are used with the utmost effect to trap the orks in the pass?

are you a chick?
>>
>>43151741
I'm a guy.

We have to wait for the QM to get back and find out what we have on-hand before we can plan our drilling operation any further. We're still hoping for a Hades drill, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

We're only gonna be talking to the general about the plan because we're not gonna get any support from Lizzy on this; it's not her idea, so she expects us to shove it up our ass. Without her say-so, the troops won't alter their plan any further than what I'm hoping for now, if she lets them alter the plan at all.

Shit, we're on the 9th page. Someone might wanna make a new thread and link it back here for the QM to find.

Make sure to have a previous thread link in the first post.

I'd do it myself, but I've been told several times to stop starting threads for people because I'm fucking horrible at it somehow.
>>
>>43152793
Op has forsaken us, we should wait until he makes a new thread if he doesn't I hope someone else can take over.
>>
>>43152859
This is why I wanted to get the posters together in an off-4chan group. I'm still willing to cobble together a skype group, if people are interested in joining so that they can be kept in the loop for thread starts.
