>(1/2)

You are John James Green, mutant vagrant.

Your blood glows faintly as it fills up the syringe, reminding you of way your palm looks when you shine a powerful light through it. You feel the heat beside your heart spread out, sending a fevered shiver across your skin as it pools in the flesh of your stump. The limb begins to grow back toward its original, unhurt state at a rapid pace, bones stretching through skin, muscle slinging itself across bone, until you can see the shape of a wrist beginning to unfurl and coil together.

“You might want to get another vial while it’s charged like this.” You say, referring to the bioluminescent state of your blood. “I don’t know how much it takes to actually work.”

Doctor Rao tears her eyes away from your soon-to-be-healed arm long enough to back up your request. You feel a second needle press against the flesh of your arm.

“You’re not worried about blood loss?” She asks, impassively.

You shake your head. “I’m probably producing more blood than I’m losing like this.”

She seems to accept that.
>>
>(2/2)

You’re in a much larger tent than Rao’s, equipped, it seems, for various medical procedures. You feel distinctly ill at ease, but you keep reminding yourself that these people are, supposedly, humanitarians. They haven’t done anything to make you distrust them. Yet. Judging by the tension in Laura’s stance, she’s little more relaxed than you are.

Just to be safe, you told them you had imbue your blood with curative properties. In case anyone got any bright ideas about forcing it out of you.

The Red Cross staff take two more vials before the effect of your inner light wears off. You find yourself brandishing a brand new, entirely healed hand.

“If only,” Rao begins, her eyes focused upon your newly-grown fingers “every mutant were as lucky as you.”

You can’t help but frown at that. You get what she means, but you’ve never considered yourself lucky.

We should ask for medical equipment Mildred listed in exchange for future blood donations. The Blood will free Rao's resources and personel for other humanitarian pursuits and there are probably muties that don't trust flatscan doctors, but might trust Mildred.

Ignoring the backhanded compliment – if that’s what it was – in favor of moving things along, you grasp the air with your new hand, flexing your fingers experimentally. Everything seems to be in working order. Feels sort of sensitive, though. Soft. Maybe it takes a little longer to get all the nerves hooked up correctly?

When you speak, your voice is low, unimposing.

“If you don’t mind, I’d like to know that it’s actually being used.”

Doctor Rao glances over at her staff, sharing a purposeful look. She turns back to you.

“We’ll have to check it first.” She says. “For the usual contaminants. Infections, sexually transmitted diseases, etcetera etcetera. Enhanced healing factors generally make such things a nonissue, but… we have to be careful.” You nod. You guess you understand that. “In the meantime… I got the impression earlier that you wished to speak with our guest, no?”

The reporter.

“Yeah. I’d like that very much.”

Picking up the folder she seems to always keep close at hand, she leads you out into one of the larger tents, where there are a few patients languishing under thin, white blankets. An unobtrusive, broad-shouldered man with thick glasses and a slightly stooped, careful posture sits to one side. At first you think he’s writing something down on his notepad, but then you realize the movements of his hands are more consistent with those of sketchwork. He glances up at the three of you as you enter, beaming.

Rao introduces you, before vanishing, presumably to take a look at your unusual donations.

He has a strong, firm handshake. That puts you somewhat at ease.

Sitting down on one of the plastic chairs nearby, you ask him what he’s drawing, mostly as a way to avoid and awkward silences. Resting his pencil in the rungs that hold his notebook together, he turns the front page to face you. It’s a rough sketch of the tent’s interior. It doesn’t detail any faces, but it gets the point across. It’s not bad.

“So…” You trail off. He waits politely for you to continue. “…I guess everyone knows about this place now?”

There is a sympathetic look on his face as he turns to a new page on his notebook.

“Not exactly.” He replies. “People have always assumed that the Zone made a good hiding place for people with reason to hide. After today, though, there’ll be more people looking into it. It’s safe to say that the public in general will know very soon.”

Damn.

“You want to know what happened?” You say, turning his words over in your head. “With the explosion.”

He nods. “Very much so.”

You tell him. You tell him that the Sinister Six were involved, that you think they were either being paid by another, bigger syndicate, or that they were making a move into the bold new world of selling drugs to disenfranchised youths. You tell him that Spider-Man showed up to turf them out – and you consider telling him a little more.

>[ ] Tell him that mutants also helped fight off the Six.
>[ ] Tell him that mutants have been fighting the syndicates.
>[ ] Don’t tell him any of that stuff.

Some ideas that I had for JJ, in more of a meta sense.

JJ has a lot more allies and resources than pretty much any mutant in the scar right now. I think he needs to start working his connections as much as possible.

Moon knight is pretty rich. I was thinking we could get into contact with him to start bringing in supplies or purchasing property in the scar as part of a holding company so that legally we wouldn't be forcibly evicted out of the area.

Do we know murdoch? He could probably help with the legalities.

Secondly, we did work at the Bugle for a short amount of time, and we know that Jameson is sympathetic to mutant plight. How about we start a media campaign highlighting positive effects that the mutant community has done to combat crime? Like taking down two notorious crime lords, stopping a shipping container with mutant hostages on board, how a New drug is being used that fucking harvests the organs of mutants like cattle, etc.

Laura should really start helping other mutants shape up in physical combat, group tactics, etc., and Noriko/Kevin could help other mutants in controlling and expressing their powers. Shit, start working our core team.

Other mutants not doing patrols should help out in building around the scar. Shoring up dilapidated buildings, gathering supplies, etc.

Finally, maybe get in touch with other Superheroes that we have met and see what they can offer.

“Just Spider-Man?”

You pause. How much do you want to tell this guy?

In the end, though, you figure he seems like an okay guy, and you have little to lose from revealing that the mutants of the Scar can defend themselves. Maybe a few people will even approve of someone putting the smackdown on those psychopaths, mutant or not.

“No.” You say. “Not just Spider-Man. A number of mutants intervened as well.” Pausing, you clarify: “We were defending ourselves.”

He nods, his posture, the way his eyes scan his notes, seeming to indicate a genuine want to record all this in its rawest state.

“You can put me down as Vagrant.” You say, recalling your last words to the Owl. You register a hint of confusion on his face – surely you mean ‘a vagrant’, something like that, probably – but move past it quickly. “I was at Sacred Tree. You remember that? And the docks, where all this started. I was the one that saved those kids.”

It feels strange, oddly shameful even, to say it like that.

“You’re telling the truth?” The reporter lets his glasses slide down over his nose, fixing you with a long, piercing stare, his blue eyes almost fixing you to the spot. “That was you?”

You nod.

He holds his stare a little long, then looks away, smiling slightly, apparently satisfied.

“It’s an honor to meet you, then.”

You feel a stab of embarrassment.

“Y-yeah, thanks…”

Shaking your hand again, he rises to his feet.

“I think that’s all I need.” He beams. “Best of luck, Mr. Vagrant.”

Unused to such an absence of hostility, you instinctively lower your voice, your eyes straying just aside of his.

“Yeah, you too, Mr…?” You grasp for his name, and are secretly relieved when he cuts in.

“Clark is fine.”

Saying goodbye, you watch him go.

With little else to do, you and Laura hang awkwardly around the tents. You make a point of passing by the tent you’d been earlier, and spy what you believe to be Doctor Rao administering a small amount of your blood to a young girl with long, pointed fins in the place of ears.

You step inside, making sure to be sufficiently noisy. You don’t want to disturb anyone at the wrong moment.

Rao notices you – you can tell by the way her form shifts in place – but she doesn’t look up until she’s finished injecting a small amount of your blood into the young girl’s arm. It’s then that you notice the long, jagged burns that run along her shoulder and waist, fresh and painfully sore. The Goblin’s handiwork, you imagine. Maybe Electro, but somehow, you don’t think one of Electro’s blasts would have left enough of her to put back together.

Slowly, a warm, bioluminescent glow entering the surrounding tissue, the wounds begin to mend. Doctor Rao raises an eyebrow, turning toward you.

“Well.” She says, her voice low. “It works.”

You fight back the urge to spit out an ‘I told you so.’ Why do you get the impression that this woman fully expected something to go wrong?

“Yeah.” You start. “There’s something else…”

There is no goddamn way in hell that you could run all the necessary medical tests to prove that (a) the blood is compatible with another person
(b) there are no foreign agents inside the blood and
(c) that the blood won't fucking kill the other person when dealing with a mutation.
(d) Have the necessary equipment to do such a thing in a goddamn tent

To everyone saying Vagrant is a bad name (which, we could have better, let's be honest, not bad, but not the best) it'll work fine for when we get evicted from the Scar by Sentinels and lose everything, traveling around and saving people, then we can walk away and tell them we're just a vagrant passing through.

Now all we have to do is watch everything we love die and burn as we are the only survivor!

She gives you expectant look. You almost find yourself backing down, but instead you fish your phone out of your pants, scrolling through the list of medical necessities Mildred made for you.

“So, there’s a lot of mutants in the Zone that don’t really trust you guys…” She raises an eyebrow at that. What? Just the truth. “But I know someone with some medical knowledge. She says she could help people if”–

“…If we were to supply the proper materials?” She says, finishing your sentence for you.

“…Yeah.”

She looks you up and down in silence, as if weighing the exact level of trust she’s will to impart upon you, before finally sighing, her shoulders sagging slightly.

“Show me the list.”

You hand it over. She check it in silence, tapping absently at one of her legs with her folder. Eventually, she passes it back to you.

“Some of these should be possible. Some sooner than others. Drop by in a day or two and I should have it put together for you.”

“Thanks.” You say, a little relief worming its way into your voice.

She nods in response, and you say goodbye.

You stall a little on your way back. A chill passes over you – without that light at the center of your being on, you’re a lot more susceptible to the nighttime temperatures, though certain less than you were a few months back.

“Sorry.” You say to Laura, as she lags back to match her step with yours, the warmth of her sweater very much appreciated against your arm. “Just… had a thought.”

Supervillains aren’t your area of expertise. Maybe that will have to change, but for now, it’s just factual. You know people who do deal with supervillains, though, as part of their day-to-day lives. Hopefully you can get in touch with them – the dialogue between you and Moon Knight’s friends had generally been pretty one-way.

You go at it sideways, phoning the Agency. You know she has a line to Power Man, and he keeps in touch with the rest.

She’s glad to hear from you. A little less glad, by the sound of it, when you tell her that you’d like to get a message through to Power Man, but she says she’ll help. You hear her set the receiver down and make another call. There is a short exchange, before eventually she picks you back up, asking if you can meet Power Man and his associates tonight.

>[ ] Yes.
>[ ] No.

We can just use plain bolos for training. Or use plain bolos till we git good. We have muscle memory, agility and geointuitive vision. We should be done with the training within a day or two.

We seriously could use some crowd control, or something that slows enemies down. This would provide just that. Plus it's non lethal, and modifiable/lootable enough (there are electric shock, and foam capsule ones), that most grenade villains, or archery heroes use.

Plus its really hard to miss with them. Like seriously you have to aim within a meter of the person.

Interesting? You like the sound of that, and you don’t like the sound of that.

You guess you don’t really have the time for a quick respite in your tent.

Glancing down at Laura, you smile.

“Hey, I’m gonna go meet the…” Pause. You can’t believe you’re saying this. “…superhero types. Wanna come with?”

She glances back in the direction of the station, before knitting her fingers through yours, her warmth travelling up your arm. You guess that’s your answer.

“Hold on.”

Unable to suppress a slight grin, you unfurl your wings, their width stretching out against the back, the leathery membrane strung between their frames seeming to pulse slightly with a faint, orangey-red heat. Laura’s breath hitches slightly as you pick her up, propelling yourself into the air, and you feel her heart thump loudly against her chest. She’s not afraid of heights, but you think flying is something she has yet to get a feel for.

You’re not entirely disappointed by that. You can’t complain about the way she rests her head against your chest, after all, her long, even breaths tickling at the surface of your skin.

You arrive with a little time to spare, swooping down into one of the nearby alleys to return yourself to regular, four-limbed JJ.

As you enter the safehouse, you notice Laura seeming a little on edge. Her eyes roam the living space with an air of careful scrutiny, her hands remaining far away from any of the furniture or surfaces.

“Hey. What’s up?”

She is quiet for a moment, as though debating her answer with herself. Eventually, she breaks her silence:

“I’ve been in places like this before.”

You don’t press it. Instead, you wait, getting more and more comfortable in the strangely empty apartment.

You’re only alone for a matter of minutes.

There is a flash of stark, white motion that sets Laura’s jaw into a growl, and Moon Knight enters via the window on the far side of the room. Daredevil, fully decked out in his red spandex, follows closely behind.

Power Man, on the other hand, enters through the front door, like a normal person.

You wait for a moment for fourth offender, Iron Fist, to emerge, but he doesn’t.

“No… Iron Guy?” You ask.

Daredevil answers, his voice barely above a whisper.

“Not tonight.”

>>
>>43148659

No. They said that he was missing.
>>
>>43148675
well, technically Laura might have been considered a supervillain considering she was a superpowered assassin working for a shady paramilitary group. She isn't anymore though
>>
>>43148675
Our girlfriend is a cutter and a former assassin like Elektra. I'm not sure what you're driving at
>>
>>43148675
He should just stop dating women and go out with Peter Parker. Perhaps the Parker and Murdock curse will then cancel each other out?
>>
>(1/2)

You’re not sure if it’s just you, but you get the distinct impression that Moon Knight is staring over your shoulder, at Laura. You can’t help but interpose yourself just slightly between the two of them. Not too obviously… just enough that you’d think it’d make eyeballing her sorta difficult. You don’t dislike Moon Knight – you’re not entirely sure he’s a functioning human being that you can really like or dislike – but you know his reputation, and you know from firsthand experience that he can be hella creepy.

Power Man slumps back on one of the overstuffed chairs that line the living room, his entire demeanor seeming entirely at odd with that of his companions. He looks up at you.

“So. What’s up?”

“You guys heard about the explosion, right?” You guess you should start from the beginning. “In the Exclusion Zone.”

There are nods.

“It’s been in the papers.” States Daredevil. “People are worried. A few outlets are trying to tie it to rumors of mutant gangs operating out of the Zone.”

“Pigs.” Cuts in Moon Knight, his voice a low, gravelly snarl. “Pigs with…”

He trails off, as if suddenly remembering that he’s not alone. It’s strange – his voice is gruffer that you remember it being.

The others try very much not to stare at him, and you do the same, opting to continue as if his little outburst had gone unnoticed.
>>
>>43148675
She won't die, she might go insane, I'm not sure she can be put in a coma, I'm not sure she can commit suicide, she may become a super villain.
>>
>>43148728
Hasn't Laura met Daredevil in the Crustyverse?
>>
>(2/2)

Making sure to spare few details, you tell them about your encounter with the Six. Daredevil’s frown deepens with every second you spend elaborating. When you’re done, he sighs heavily.

“We thought something like this might happen, eventually.” Excuse you? They expected this? “We didn’t think they’d attack an area that was already officially depopulated, but we assumed that either other interested parties would step in to take advantage of the chaos, or someone would start bringing in more hired muscle.”

“I’m thinking it’s the second.” Says Power Man, a little absently.

“Why?” You can’t help but wonder. You’re not a master detective, after all.

“Russians have been bringing in superpowered assets from overseas.” Growls Moon Knight. “Makes sense that one of the other groups would respond in kind. With the Owl’s people in disarray, that probably means it’s Negative.”

Daredevil continues, picking up where Moon Knight leaves off:

“They’re not being as open about it, but they’re still at war.” A concerned tone enters his voice as he goes on. “You’re alright, I take it?”

“I survived.”

“Good.” He seems to mean it, too. “If Negative is willing to bring in a wildcard like the Six, it means he’s desperate. It could be time to deal with him for good. Before he can pay for any more unpleasant surprises.”

First time we ran into them they wanted to grab mutants for experiments, which hasn't been connected to him yet.

Hired muscle requires cash. We hit his shit we could provoke one of the other groups to gang up on him while hes down. Watch it go down and we can use it to scout out the others.
>>
>[x] Suggest going straight for Mr. Negative himself.
It's simple, really. I propose we kill the Mr. Negative. Somebody like him can rebuild his assets in a month, maybe even a week. Only way of dealing with someone like him is to kill him. For a while, at least. Not sure if he is going to raise like some kin juei eastern vampire negative chi zombie thing.
>>

Maybe leave out the "personal interest", but mentioning Typhon might be a good idea. At the very least it would be good for him to be on the radar of other hero groups.

Shit, dudes, I would rather keep from storming the gates. Unless we can come up with a solid plan to a) counter Mr. Negatives powers, b) Isolate him from his support network, and c) Take advantage of his death so that the Russians don't just have everything fall neatly into their laps.

“I could arrange another overnight raid on Mr. Negative’s stuff.” You suggest, your voice low. You always feel like the underdog when you’re talking to these people, like you’re coming from a place of supreme ignorance. “If he does have extra help, it’d tie ‘em up. Maybe long enough for you guys to take him out.” You feel a nervous twitch enter your thoughts, and you add, quickly: “Or take him in. Whatever it is you do.”

“…Take him in, yes.” Daredevil. Moon Knight grunts derisively at that. “…I know nobody was seriously injured last time, JJ, but… are you sure that’s the best idea? You’ve been biting chunks out of him for weeks. He’s angry, now, and he’s had time to prepare. It might not go as well this time.”

You shrug. “I don’t see there being much of an alternative. These people aren’t just gonna stop. Right?”

He nods slowly, relenting. There is a faint, reluctant smile on his face. “…Right.”

“Another thing…” You don’t know exactly how to bring this up. In the absence of any better ideas, you go with the ‘blunt object’ approach: “There’s a guy, maybe hiding out in the Zone, maybe working with the Six. I think he can manufacture mutants, give people powers.”

“Concerning.” Says Moon Knight, breathing it out heavily, slowly. “What kind of powers?”

Thinking back, you try to list off everything you remember about Ladon.

“Watch out for them. I don’t think they do costumes, so…”

“…They could be anyone.” Says Power Man, finishing your sentence for you.

“Yeah.”

There is a brief, uneasy silence, before Moon Knight opens his mouth again.

“Anything else?”

“Just so you know, this scientist guy, he’s obsessed with me. I dunno if you can use that or”–

A voice cuts in. Power Man. “Why?”

“Uh…”

“Why’s he obsessed with you?”

Moon Knight scoffs, as though the answer is obvious, but when the others look his way he elects to say nothing. You grasp around for things to say – you’re not sure you want to bring up your dad, or his work, or the things he did to you. You’re sure they’ve gotten that you’re strange somehow, that your mutation doesn’t sit still the way it does with other mutants, but you don’t think you want them to know everything.

“Some crap about destiny.” You respond, a little lamely. “He’s delusional.”

“Which makes him all the more dangerous.” Says Daredevil, nodding in your direction. “Thank you for bringing this to our attention, JJ.”

“Yeah…” You squirm awkwardly. Again, not the kind of attention you’re used to. “…Another thing. I’ve been doing this for a while now…” This is something you’ve been steeling yourself for. “…and I’m feeling, uh, a little underequipped. If I’m going to keep doing this, I need some real equipment.”

It’s only fair. You know these guys have access to this stuff. They’re superheroes.

The others look toward Moon Knight. He cocks his head to one side, breathing loudly, and what he says makes you just a little uncomfortable:

“Good. I’ve been waiting.” What? He’s been waiting for what? “Gear for seven. Correct?”

He knows exactly how many people you hang out with.

“…Nine.” You say, hoping you sound less unnerved that you are. Tyler and Mildred.

“Hnn.” What’s that? What does that even mean? “Recruiting. Good. I can have them sent tonight. Here, or somewhere equally discreet.”

…He’s been putting a lot of thought into this, hasn’t he?

“Here.” You say. You intend on hanging around a bit. “Uh, speaking of, you guys don’t mind if I stick around for a bit and use the shower.”

There is a long, nonplussed silence that you take as a “None of us care.”

Finally, you turn to Laura. She knows this stuff better than you do.

She’s been quiet so far, though her eyes have strayed in Daredevil’s general vicinity more than once. You can’t help but wonder what’s up with that. He’s not better looking that you, is he? Oh Christ, he is, isn’t he? That jaw is amazing…

“What do you think?” You ask. “About hitting Negative?”

She blinks, looking down at the kitchen surface in front of her, as if organizing her thoughts across it.

“We should be certain that he is responsible first.” She says. “Reconnaissance before any kind of offensive.”

You feel a strange change in Daredevil’s posture.

“You”– He pauses, as if rethinking, and puts aside whatever it was. “Good thinking. We don’t want to go in blind. JJ, your abilities…”

“Yeah. I can do it.”

He nods respectfully in response.

Confirming that you can get in touch via the Phantom, you say your goodbyes, the masked vigilantes disappearing via the windows, while the less-masked vigilante excuses himself via the front door. Lingering for a moment, Power Man glances at you, then to Laura, and grins slightly.

“Have fun, kids.”

An Adamantium-induced abortion?
>>
Rolled 8 (1d100)

>>43150703
JJ's sperms is unstable so preggers is unlikely

roll under 20 and Laura is going to be a mommy

crit is twins
>>
>>43150747
Sounds like bollocks frankly (no offence), since said healing factor can be controlled to exact hair and nail lengths.

I believe its JJ's unstable genetics that makes pregnancy very unlikely, but still possible in the long run if JJ stabalizes after entering T3.
>>
>>43150777
Yay, she'll get to enjoy the wonders of pregnancy.

Until her healing factor aborts the kid, anyway.

>>43150706
She could get pregnant, she'd just miscarry.

>>43150747
I was there when it was brought up in the ask, and from what I gathered anons pointed out that shouldn't be the case. The inseminated egg would be considered a part of Laura's body

>>43150760
Laura doesn't suffer from adamantine poisoning because the adamantium is only localized in her hands. It's why her regeneration is so much better then Wolverine's.

>>43150757
It was less that JJ was a mutie, and more that JJ's genes were out of whack. Once his genes are settled, he's more likely to have kids
>>
>>43150791
dude, anons already pointed out that the egg would be protected by her healing factor, not attacked. It's in the ask
>>
>>43150830

>>

>>
>>43150879
>>43150888
Oh, well then. I guess she could do that. It'd certainly be cheaper then going to a clinic

It would be horrifying, however.
>>

>(1/???)

There are few things better than a warm shower. One of those things is a hot shower. There’s the hodgepodge assemblage you’ve got set up at the station, and that works – it runs the water – but it’s not quite the real deal. The hot water is a constant, soothing pressure against your skin, washing away the filth and the sweat and the ruin of the day, letting you just exist for a moment, in a space of total carelessness you rarely have the time or the opportunity for.

Stepping out, you pull your pants on, moving aside so Laura can make her way in. You briefly consider that you may have just wasted an opportunity, but you let it go, consoling yourself with the warm, comfy embrace of the sofa the superheroes have set up in their fakey apartment.

While you wait for Laura to get out, you mess around a bit with the back of the TV, finally getting it to work. You get a minute or two of distinctly unpleasant reporting regarding the recent gang activity across the city, along with a worrying insinuation that the explosion in the Scar may be linked, before you change the channel over to something else. There’s some film, a Danish crime show, that cartoon about crying people Lucas was watching in the mall, some other film…

You settle on the first option. It looks sort of weird, but you’re not in the mood for subtitles, or crying teatime friends or whatever.

Feeling a little mischievous, you break out your phone and order a pizza for this address. They won’t care, right?
>>
>>43150948
something about JJ's genes causing the fetus to congenital nightmare and die in the womb?
>>
>>43150948
Its not auto, just very likely. Its to do with JJ's baby batter being all kinds of weird.
>>
>2

Laura emerges, a towel wrapped around her midsection, and you can’t help but watch her as she makes her way around the sofa to take the cushion beside you. The pizza arrives, eventually, and you scarf it down while Laura pecks at the edges. She watches the television in a silence that you’d describe as both rapt and confused. You yourself are more focused on her than the film – it’s some kind of fake documentary thing about vampires in New Zealand. It’s good, but there are better things.

Sneaking one arm around Laura’s shoulders, you feel her tense briefly, her bright green eyes turning toward you. Her breath catches in her chest and you sense a vague, heady warmth settle in her shoulders and her collar, rising slowly, eventually coloring her cheeks with a pale shade of red. In a sudden, awkward motion, as though she suddenly lost her balance, she leans against you, her hands steadying her against your bare chest, their touch seeming to ignite against your skin.

You lean forward and kiss her, holding her taste in your mouth as you pull away, and she presses closer, her towel coming loose, your hands moving to snake their way up her legs, provoking a soft, long sigh of excitement from her as they clasp down upon her thighs.

The two of you flow into one another, kissing one moment, hands working through one another the next, all sense of time beginning to diminish into the spaces between your slow, languid motions. Laura pecks at your chest, her lips leaving moments of tense, lightheaded warmth upon you, her tongue flicking out to lick its way along your collar, your neck, your jaw… A sharp, sudden burst of sensation rattles your skull as you feel her tongue trace its way along one of your ears, and your whole body convulses, your hands squeezing down tighter on her, clutching her closer, draining a shrill, surprised squeak from her lungs.

A fire burning in you, you heft her up, sitting her upon your lap, and –

Someone knocks on the door.
>>
>>43150948
It's not auto, just more then likely to happen because of JJ's fucked up baby batter. Any egg that managed to get inseminated would likely become a fetus with a bunch of congenital disorders.
>>
>>43150974
>>43150982
>>43151015

No.

Argh.

That’s… that’s probably Moon Knight’s stuff, isn’t it?

You grit your teeth, hissing out your displeasure, as though trying to vent some of the mad heat boiling up through your core. You and Laura sit there for a moment, in tense, sweaty, desperate silence, your eyes carving into one another and your breath close enough to taste, before there is a second, more insistent knock, and Laura slowly slides herself from your lap. She collapses back against the side of the sofa, wrapping her towel back around her and breathing heavily.

You get up, trying to remain relatively calm, and amble toward the door.

You open it, just very slightly, and peer outside.

There’s a short, scruffy man with heavy, dark rings under his eyes and a thick mop of greasy brown hair outside. He looks at you wide eyes, and then shoves the pair of duffel bags at his feet toward you, turning to leave without a word.

…You guess… you guess Moon Knight has some weird race of scruffy imps that work for him?

Or he pays hobos to move stuff around. That could be it.

You drag the bags in, not entirely interested in what’s in them right now, timing considered, but you decide to unzip them anyway.

It’s the costumes that catch your eye, first.

As you sift through them, the first thing you realize is that they’re mostly identical, save for their proportions. The second thing is that they’re less like superhero garb, and more like motorcycling leathers – maybe a little more clingy, and the padding is more pronounced, harder (Kevlar? Some equivalent? You think it could be), but you could hang around in these in public and, at a glance, most people would assume you’re about to get on your Suzuki and bomb it down the street. Probably the oddest thing about them would be the hoods, but those could just be a fashion thing.

Sticking out against the black leathers, the masks are pure white – or almost pure white. They remind you of a substance halfway between porcelain and granite, with a stony feel to them that reminds you of old gargoyles you’ve seen in pictures of Notre Dame.

They’re expressionless, androgynous human faces, almost angelic, with different sets of horns from mask to mask. Some are curled, like a ram’s, while others remind you more a gazelle’s or that of a classical devil. One has none, just a set of grooves near the top. You realize they’re there to make room for the horns that you come packaged with as standard.

Wow. There’s others tuff, too, like –

At that precise moment, you stop caring, because Laura drags you away from the duffel bags and lands heavily on your chest, her hands pinning you down by your shoulders, her tongue burning across your neck…
