As if it had been an invisible shockwave the dark mist suddenly started to disappear in all directions and soon nothing but small faint traces of it were left. The Eldar witch weakly lied on the floor and slowly dragged herself back to her feet, somewhat paralyzed from the sudden shock of energy. Apparently she had somehow used her Witchblade as a lightning rod and managed to divert the most of the mortal voltage towards the ground. A brilliant tactic that had saved her life but still didn’t wasn’t to leave her completely unscathed.

The arena’s floor was composed by a rocky ground that was apparently constructed from the live rock of the own Asteroid in which the Space Station was built upon. Elyadien rested there and. Her black and bone colored armor was apparently undamaged, sans a few scratches made during the fall, still, a weak trail of smoke came from its minuscule junctures; your electrical attack had reached her flesh and charred it to some degree.

“Explain yourself Xenos!”

You were starting to get mad at her. She had used you as a puppet and now that you were starting to get answers she wanted to stop you from learning the complete truth.

Her mind was an alien and intricate mess of neurons and Cerebrum Synapses. You couldn’t start to grasp how would she think or act but you knew for sure that she was intelligent and clever. She was an alien enemy that was surrounded by some of the Imperium’s finest and she hated you with burning passion, taking the information out of her would be near impossible.

>This is your exam. Kill her and go to Telematha, the answers are waiting in there.
>You know a little bit about Spirit Stones, overpower her and take down her stone. Threaten to destroy the Stone if she doesn’t talks.

I'm really good today! These last days I have been somewhat stressed with a school project and it ended turning into a writter's block and overall stagnation. I have ended the project and feel really relieved. Quest ideas are slowly flowing back. How about you anon?

Well. Since we have four players already I guess I can go with a dice roll. Everybody roll a 1d100 for:

>You know a little bit about Spirit Stones, overpower her and take down her stone. Threaten to destroy the Stone if she doesn’t talks.

Not giving her any time to catch a breath you dash towards her general direction and activate your vibrowrists. Soon your hands start to shake as heavy as a turbocharged engine and your power sword turns into a blurry mess that spews orange and blue bursts of energy as its disruptor field agitates and fills the air with ionized oxygen.

With a movement that she cannot stop you send her sword flying backwards several feel with a great force. Not wanting to kill her yet you swung your blade on a great descending arch that would have divided her in two if it weren't for the fact that you ended hitting her with the flat side instead of the sharp blade. A great "Thunk!" was heard and she went down.

Elyadien might be weaponless now but she's a psyker, her biggest weapon is her own brain, and now you have just completely disarmed her.

She wasn't dead, her flat chest still moved weakly and denoted a breathing. You had only left her stunned for some time. A great crack on her helmet formed and expanded until it decomposed and revealed her face to you. The pass of time didn't seemed to have affected her at all and she continued to be, to some degree, pristine. Her lower lip was ruptured and bleed and she also seemed to have been bleeding from her nose.

You sheathed your sword and overpowered her, she was still unconscious but who knows for how long. Taking advantage of her stunned status you started to search her spirit stone and finally after touching all her curves and pockets found it. It was an opal like jewel that seemed to be hollowed, its interior was empty in a eerie way, you couldn't see its core and it was somehow filled with a black void, awaiting to be the vessel of an Eldar soul.

With a grunt she slowly came back to her senses, the moment she saw you with her Spirit Stone she entered into a panic and rage filled state.

She didn't had any chance, she was way too weakened and frail to be able to move your heavy body from her. Her unnatural agility wasn't of any help now, you had already violated her body and taken her most sacred and precious possession.

"Speak, witch."

Slowly you grabbed the Spirit Stone with your left hand and grabbed your Arc Pistol with the other. You looked at her dead in the eye and placed the cold barrel of the pistol on her warm forehead and pressed the jewel between your bionic fingers, cracking its surface.

>"I know you Eldar prize these stones above all other things except perhaps that infinity circuit. Why?"

Her eyes opened suddenly with a shock of revelation, then she silently shook her head with a desperation look on her alien face.

"Of course, the mon'keigh didn't or couldn't knew what was he doing. It isn't an excuse obviously. The story is repeating over again, Heracor. You are going to plunge yourself into a darkness you won't be able to escape. Your death is the only way we can stop a greater cataclysm. For that's what the time and destiny flows have revealed to me."

You pressed the stone tighter and noticed several cracks expanding in all directions, strange violet sparks flew from its core and floated around your hand before dying and disappearing into nothingness a few seconds later.

Tears started to form on her eyes, her spirit was starting to break.

"That's my Spirit Stone! The vessel for my immortal soul! If you destroy it I won't have nowhere to go but to the Jaws of She Who Thirst!"

"Slaanesh? Why xir?" You asked her.

"You know of the Dark Gods? The Dark Prince is the arch-nemesis of all my kin, be it Craftworld, Exodite or Comorrithe. All our souls are condemned for the sins of our ancestors destined to a eternal hell of unending torture under her reign. Those Stones are the only way to bypass that..."

"What about the Infinity Circuit?"

"A conglomerate of all the Spirit Stones. The closest thing we have to an afterlife in which our consciences can meet our ancestors and deceased friends and relatives. It isn't safe thought, its just a cage surrounded by fire. The moment you destroyed it you condemned all the Jasdevi Eldars to the worst ending that they could ever have. Millions of Souls feeding her at once!"
>>
>>43316119

Your hand weakened for an instant but you didn't bulged at the end and continued holding the stone on your palm.

"Don't think that I won't be able to break it and kill you afterwards Elyadien. I have done it before and I will surely do it again..."

>"Why are you here and why do you want to kill me?"

She once again tried to take you from top of her, to no success. You ended smacking her nose with the butt of your Arc Gun to turn her into a compliant questioned. After your attack the nosebleed started once again and covered her pink lips with a crimson coating.

"To stop my visions from coming truth. I have seen some figures raising and releasing a devastation of unprecedented scale! I'm talking about the Old Enemy."

Daemons and the incoming massive possession, you thought to yourself. Apparently your descent onto the planet will be the trigger that turns it into a reality. Her last vision didn't turned true thought, and thus you didn't ended believing any of her poison filled words.
>>
>>43316138
>"What's going on Telematha?"

"The unspeakable is happening. Testing with materials that no human should ever be able to have on their dirty hands. Treats with beings that nobody should ever dare to speak with. The creation of something artificial that should have never been created."

No mattered how damaged she seemed to be her pride and strange mannerisms made her speak in riddles and half-truths. Only a session of intense and long torture would be able to take the truth out of her and you didn't had the means nor the time. You looked upwards and made eye contact with the sarcophagus of the Inquisitor Iantorus, trying to decided how to act now.

>Break the Spirit Stone, and completely paralyze her. Gift her crippled and weeping body to the Inquisitor and consider the exam ended.
>Break the Spirit Stone and kill her. You had given her enough friendliness. Their kin only deserves to die.
>Do not Break the Spirit Stone and leave her unconscious with a punch. Give her body to the Inquisitor, she might be valuable in the future. Consider the exam ended.

Considering the likely route of Eldar prisoners, this seems the most merciful.

>Do not Break the Spirit Stone and leave her unconscious with a punch. Give her body to the Inquisitor, she might be valuable in the future. Consider the exam ended.

You softly place the Stone back inside of her armor and she looks at you with both surprise and acknowledgement, she immediately closed her eyes and stopped offering resistance, surely thinking that you were going to finish her. Instead you landed a punch on the side of her head that made her right pointed ear to bleed and completely knocked her out.

With the electrografted muscles of your power armor you quickly stood up and dragged her with only one had. You walked towards the Inquisitor and his Astartes companion and looked up at them before speaking.

"I declare this exam ended. The vile Eldar has been defeated without having to spill more blood than the necessary nor destroying its Spirit Stone. If a death is what you wanted please do tell and I will do it quick and swiftly, otherwise I will gladly give it to you, for she knows information and could be useful in the destruction of the Enemies of the Imperium."

You couldn't knew how was the Inquisitor reacting to such act for all you could see was only the cold and black slab that composed the door of his sarcophagus. Was he enraged or clapping inside of its life support? The few seconds of bewilderment until he spoke made you feel incredibly nervous and tense.

"A death would have been accepted under some circustances but what we really wanted to see was your initiative and capability to attack old foes. We were afraid of you being unable to confront an old friend after what happened with Karelia... You have done very well my acolyte. I hereby welcome thee into my retinue. This Station is now your home and you are part of my family. Even if you someday decided to pursue other paths you have to know that you will always have a place under my protection, but do not even dare to cross the line and betray the Emperor, for I am a good friend, but an even better enemy."

People started clapping around you. Soon a couple of servitors followed by some guards came and took the alien towards her future imprisonment. Along with them also came the own Inquisitor and his Astartes clad in grey armor. It wasn't until everybody left that they started speaking.

"Contemplate one of the holiest and bests daemon anathemas of the Galaxy, bested only by the Emperor itself. This is Caleb from the Grey Knights, who has come here to inspect you and survey your future mission. Since this delicate situation could end in a possible warp catastrophe we have decided to have two Companies of Grey Knights ready to be deployed."
>>
>>43316727

The Astartes, who seemed to have a gilded aura around him gifted you a collar, similar to the one that you had to use in the Ork races but way lighter and better constructed.

"I believe that you are already familiar with the use of those collars. With the use of BioHost Satellites we will be able to keep track of your movements. In case we hear anything strange, your biometric parameters drop or we lose your track we will descend with all we have. Any question?"

You looked at the Inquisitor and pronounced your first question.

>"What is a BioHost Satellite?"

The Insectoid legs that sprung from the back of the Sarcophagus clawed the ground and sunk deep enough, letting him rest his own weight on those legs. Now that he seemed to be more comfortable he proceeded to speak.

"A secret device of the Ordo Hereticus that they have allowed us to use. I, of course, don't know any specific detail but they are some small spheroids, no bigger than 25 inches in diameter. Inside of them they have the body of a specially heinous criminal whose limbs have been extracted. The Satellite works both as a information relay and a life support station, while the body works as the power generator. The criminal is stored inside in a tight fetal position and automatically connected with several tubes that will pump it with the necessary nutrients and drugs enough to keep it into a coma induced dream. Once every twenty five years they have to be exchanged, a specially designed ship comes with several tubes that can find the different satellites and connects with them, once the connection is done a new body is sent across the tube and the old one is thrown out to the vacuum, its fine thought, they were criminals who were judged with capital punishment and by the time they are launched they are pretty much mummified husks of their old selves, their bodies and senses are so damaged that they cannot feel a thing before the coldness and lack of atmosphere kills them, it is even more than they deserve... They are ideal because of their low energy generation and small size, we can deploy them on great quantities and spy on a planet. In case they are discovered the device as a self destruct button that completely erases any kind of clue of its true purpose. As we speak we are covering the atmosphere of Telematha with hundreds of them."
>>
>>43317292

It was interesting indeed, the use of humans as batteries wasn't something new but due to the low energy output that they would generate nobody had ever accepted its wide use, until now.

>"What kind of signal does this collar emit?"

The Inquisitor raised two of his clawed legs as if he were shrugging.

"I kind of understand their functions but their internal techno-sorcery is nothing but indecipherable blabber."

Caleb then decided to speak and answer that question for you.

"We will follow your movements, heart rate, stress levels and hear your words and of those around you. I don't comprehend how do those work but all I know is that they are recorded and processed by the internal cogitator of the collar and then turned into a signal that can cross vasts distances, only to be turned once again into readable data that we will study. Sorry if that wasn't the complete answer that you wanted."

He seemed to be fierce yet polite. Like a wolf in the sheep's skin.

>"Remind me of my mission once again."

"You will be sent towards your homeplanet Telematha, once in there you will act as the hero they consider you to be and try to infiltrate their inner circles. You have to discover two main things. What or Who are the Benefactors and in which way are they tied to the Anima Chips if they are at all. Your second objective is to discover why and how are they constructing the Anima Chips, you will have to destroy their plans and if possible steal their blueprints, such creation would be really useful under the right hands. Do whatever it takes to stop the daemonic incursion."

>"Let me say goodbye to my daughter and then I will be ready to go."

"We will be leaving in two hours. Stop wasting time and go already. Make my granddaughter feel proud of her father!"

After that they let you exit and you dashed towards the Fabricatorium where Alaria would be.

As you ran towards her fabricatorium you activated your noise dampener, surprising some few passerby with the sudden sharp tone that it generated whenever it was activated.

You found your daughter Alaria working on the antigrav engines of the base of a Servoskull and slowly placed yourself behind her and covered her eyes with your ironclad hands. Since no sound could be generated due to your anti-noise bionic you had to send her a text message to contact.

"Guess who?"

With a great smile she turned back and hugged you. You deactivated the noise dampener and once again the air currents started to transport soundwaves with them

"Father!"

Her arms could barely hug you completely, your chest and its many layers were simply too much for her to completely encircle you.

"How is my dear and little Alaria?" Those words still sounded pretty alien to you, she was indeed your dear little girl but still, you were completely unaccustomed to them.

"Good! Today I found an old servoskull in the deepest part of one of the warehouses. It seemed that somebody had forgotten about it and has been working as a paperweight and dust collector for the last decades. I am trying to repair it, as a challenge mostly."

Even if you had no lips anymore you felt like smiling and cupped her face with one of your hands.

"I know we are not related by blood, but we are both true scions of the Omnisiah and I am proud to have played a small part in raising you to into the lovely techpriestess you've become."

"Awww, you are going to make me blush!"

She turned as red as her hair and then seemed to have trouble to breathe, guided by instinct she grabbed a small inhaler and pushed it into a small port that connected with her neck. The vapors entered into her respiratory system and opened her lungs and trachea, stopping the Asthma attack. It lasted less than a minute but during all that time you felt completely frozen, the mere idea of losing her was simply too much. Now that she was out of danger you thanked the Emperor that she decided to follow a safer path than the one you followed.

You decided to construct a servoskull for her, something that would be there with her at all times, a protector and even a friend. She already had three servoskulls following her, Morti that was armed with a Taser Goad, Wurgen that was the biggest one by far and was armed with a Lasgun and the Third one, called Arri and equipped with a camera that recorded her. She could still have a fourth one, if she wants to be a great servoskull constructor she has to have a great array of familiars after all.

What kind of Servoskull will you create?

>Lexmechanic Servoskull:
It will have a diary recorder that will be able to inscribe her daily life. You will be able to access it and study how she feels and how she is. To some degree you still feel that she's an unknown person.
>Weapon Servoskull:
Armed with a Laser pistol equivalent this servoskull will protect her along with the other two. She's your precious and thus no matter how much protected she is it never seems enough.

A servoskull that will aid her on her duties and task and act as a guide and aid. If properly developed it will surely boost her career as a techprietess

>Tool Servo-skull

You two made a great team. She had a greater knowledge that you but you were by far stronger and more adept with the different tools. It was a shame that you didn't had the chance to study as much as she did, you think that you could also become a great technician, maybe after all this is over you could retire from the action and work with her on some forge surrounded by peace and serenity...

In the course of about two hours you two manage to assemble and repair that old skull and turn it into a greater assistant that would help her with her many tasks and duties.

The servo-skull was fitted with a greater antigrav engine and several magnetic clamps that would let it grab it any kind of tool, albeit it would have more ease with metallic objects. Its eyes were also turned into two potent lux casters that would illuminate any kind of area she would work with.

In your honor she decided to name the servo-skull Herahive, and give it a mix of your two names to act as a small reminder of your presence whenever she's busy with work, which with her talent will be pretty much always.

It wasn't later after that when two Scions came to escort you into the spaceship that will transport you. You were guided across several corridors and hidden pathways that you didn't knew that even existed and eventually guided towards a dock in which a red and golden frigate with symbols of the Mechanicus awaited for you. There were several Electro-priests and other heavily augmented personnel transporting materiel inside.

The ship seemed to be almost filled with energy generators and had several voltage towers coming out of its hull. On the sides it had some plasma weapons that you couldn't identify and several dome like structure that vibrated heavily and were surrounded by a disk of energy. On the prowl of the ship there was a massive gilded ram with the form of a half gear. The Inquisitor appeared from between the workers and approached you.
>>
>>43318963

"Do you like it? It's the Lux in Tenebris. Or known as "A Light Shining in Darkness" in Low-Gothic. It's...a gift from Arandano to you. She had been pretty busy while you were in Stasis. I bet you will meet her sometime soon."

"M-My own ship?"

"Indeed, and those Electro-priests in there are ones who have been inspired by your act and sudden psykerdom act. They believe that you are the Luminangelus, a holy angel of the Omnissiah. We know of some other similar beliefs on your planet too. Your own Skitarii and personal army."

One of those Electropriests came to you quickly, he had a pointed cap that gave him the impression of being a captain or another member of higher rank, its eyes were covered with a red bandana that seemed to have caught fire in more than one occasion and carried on its shoulders a couple of lit candles. Its skin was blueish and on it the illumination of several electoos shined from time to time.

"Nice to meet you sire! A pleasure sire! We are ready to leave when you desire! Do you want to make all the way on a stasis pod, or awakened?"

He spoke very quickly and with each word the bandage that covered his eyes illuminated from behind, it seemed that whatever it had for eyes glowed every time he spoke or did some action.

We need to use these people to the maximum advantage. Going in blind will serve us little.

"Tell me your name and everything about the Lux in Tenebris"

You say as you continue to admire the beautiful frigate.

"Of course sire. I am Vincenikae, at the service of the Omnissiah, the Emperor and finally at your service."

He grabbed a dataslate and started to search for some information by apparently getting data from it by mere touch. Soon from it a tridimensional holodepiction of the frigate appeared.

>Tempest-class strike frigate
>Dimensions: 1.5 km long, 0.4 km abeam at fins approx.
>Mass: 6.1 megatonnes approx.
>Crew: 30500 crew, approx.
>Accel: 4.7 gravities max sustainable acceleration

"This ship has been waiting for five years for the return of its rightful owner sire! It is a heavily modified Tempest-class strike frigate whose most of its passenger containers have been repurposed to hold massive Generators and energy power plants; it is powered by two eternally rotating Jovian Pattern Class 3 Drives. It has a Strelov 1 Warp Engine that allows the vessel to enter and remain in the Immaterium and has a Geller field that lets it create a bubble of realspace when in the Inmaterium. It has a single Void shield Array and a series of Electromagnetic disks that create an additional protector layer and are able to deflect solid projectiles like macrocannon rounds. It has a Command Bridge with delicate yet Enhanced Cogitator Relays that let the Captain have a greater control over his vessel."

With each word the different parts of the ship appeared on the holodepiction. The image wasn't the best but it was descriptive enough to make a mental image of it.

"It has pretty poor life sustainers and squattish quarters but most of the crewsmen don’t seem to mind it sire!"

A small room that had to be shared. You had lived on one of those for years before you ran away, it isn't as bad as some people like to believe.

"We are proud to say that it also has a Deep Void Auger Array. It is, quite simply, one of the best sensors created by the Adeptus Mechanicus, and is reserved for our own ships."

The hologram depicted several satellite dishes that were spread across the ship.

"On each side it has a Ryza Pattern Plasma Battery. These weapons are rare and expensive examples of the ancient art of plasma-craft. Their power draw is considerable, but so is their effectiveness."

So those are the massive plasma weapons that you saw. Good, very good.

"The most characteristic part of this ship is obviously the prow. It is an armoured ram that also acts as a holy symbol and as the tip of the blade of the Omnissiah. If the situation requires it the energy can be diverted towards it and turn it into an Omniweapon whose characteristics share some traits with both Melta and Power weapons. Anything that it touches its both melted and disintegrated, at the same time. Arandano even said that it is the fastest and biggest lighting bolt of the Galaxy."

>Say Goodbye to the Inquisitor and do all the Journey awake. Use the time to meet your warriors and the like.

You said goodbye to the few people that you had meet in there. B'xir, Iantorus and even the Grey knight Caleb.

Once inside you sat on the command bridge and readied everything to take off. In most occasions those kind of spaceships cannot directly take off from the surface due to their heavy weight but since you are now on an Asteroid this is possible.

Slowly you see how the massive generators that occupy the ship generate a shroud of energy arcs that cross all the ship and ricochet for its surface as if they were mere dust particles and then you now understood why Arandano called it the biggest lighting bolt ever.

Everything on the ship seemed to be electrified to some degree. People had to have bionic limbs or rubber covered soles and gloves to simply touch the metallic surfaces and the few people with visible hair had it completely filled with static and all pointy.

"Destination Telematha. Estimated time to Arrival: 2 months!" Yelled the chartographer.

"There's no turning back... Triumph or oblivion."

The ship started to accelerate and soon the Space Station was nothing but a small brown rock. As its speed increase so did the energy arcs and soon enough the entire ship looked like a massive electrical arrow that pierced the void, it was indeed "A Light Shinning in Darkness"

Like the invitation of a certain death a Warp Entrance appeared in front of the ship and the frigate started to head into it. You were directly heading to the wolf's mouth.

writers block done?

How flustered was Alaria? Does she really wear that little?

>Writers block done?
Yeah, it was mostly because I had some class project that took most of my time and had me somewhat stressed. I have finished it already and I feel much better now.

>How flustered was Alaria?
Very, this is a chapter of her life that she has been awaiting for long. She had been on the Space Station for years waiting for his adoptive father, the hero, to recover from its injuries and be once more back with her.

She's nervous in a joyful virginal way.

>Does she really wear that little?
Its just a picture that I found and fitted her description, plus it also had a servoskull so it was pretty much how I pictured her. Still, no. I guess that is a picture of her about to take a bath or a shower.

Anyone we know besides Alaria and elfdar know of our return? Aradano doing well I take it? The admech starting to (oh so Imperator awfully slowly) manufacture her design?

>Anyone we know besides Alaria and elfdar know of our return?
Liwet knows it because Alaria has told her. She felt relieved because she thought Heracor was dead. I think I mentioned it in some recent thread.

>Aradano doing well I take it?
She was a prodigious person with the mind and knowledge of a grow up techpriest and the energy of a child. She was surely pissed of not being able to captain the Explorator ship but she has worked hard and ascended the echelons and gained some power.

>The admech starting to (oh so Imperator awfully slowly) manufacture her design?
They are looking at the blueprints. Expect it to be rejected or approved in the next two centuries and to start construction in the first three centuries after the approval is made.
