Hey guys, today we will be ending a bitt earlier than usual since I have an appoiuntment to go check out a new house, ok? Other than that, as usual, let me know when you get here and we'll get started
>>

Miellewds-anon here.
I hope we can do some dungeon-diving with Miel, Miel II, and Portia today.
Also leveling the Harpies to increase their Int and Wis. Hopefully more of them will be able to earn their names soon.
>>
>>43351126
Oh, did we ever get that necklace and name tag for Nina?
>>
>>43351228
Is more about naming them slowly so we (and I mean me) will remember their names properly

***

We head to the dining room, but it is empty. A maid explains that grandfather likes having his meals in the kitchen table with the staff unless he is entertaining state guests, so that's where he is having finner with Stella, Zoe and Portia right now.

Well, the dining room at the keep is... yeah, it is kind of enormous. We can easily imagine it must feel kind of odd to eat by yourself there, but most nobles would surely still do it, right?

Anyway, as it turns out, grandfather likes to have dinner with lots of people, so many of the cooks and maids are sitting at the table with him.

It, too, is a rather big table, but it is also half full right now, so the feeling is completely different. It feels like a cheerful feast.

"Brother!" -Stella hugs us and rubs her pretty face on our neck while she wags her tail.

Ah, let's pat her head a little and play with the fluffy ears. Her hair (fur?) is really soft, isn't it?

"Ah, have a seat, boy." -grandfather invites us to sit down
"I-it is nice to meet you, sir."

We introduce Aritsu to grandpa, and he stands up to greet her politely, and then Lyann. He pulls the chairs for them.

Ah... Portia looks about the same? but her level is 50, now. Well, as a beastkin, she will probably grow overnight with a good night of rest, so she should have a good meal now.

Zoe smiles, her tailtip swaying up and down as we sit next to her. Ah, she wants to be pampered too, right? but she's not the type to ask.

Let's pet her ears a little, too. Yep, she's purring. She's a nice, quiet girl, but she sure loves being loved, doesn't she?

>Tell grandpa that he shouldn't bother the staff by eating with them.
>Casually join in the dinner/feat.
>Admonish Stella and Zoe for leveling up Portia so much.

Talk around with the staff, use our high Wis and Int to observe them and see if they're uncomfortable with their downtime being hogged by their boss, or if they actually enjoy this first, before admonishing grandpa.

Goddamn, we need to get stronger than grandpa so that we can give him a good lecturing on the need to be more responsible.

I wonder if the god/gods who entrusted the Lightbringer family with the Keep and maintaining the super-dungeon underneath it knows that grandpa let many of the defenses and Keep systems fall into disrepair or actively shut them down.

"Lightbringer, you had one job! ONE JOB!"

Most of the staff here arrived as children that grandfather picked up the streets or bought and then freed from slavery. He also pays for the studies of those who want to go to martial, wizardry or clerical schools, but the mayority of them are quite happy just working at the keep.

They see him as their adoptive father, so they are a bit confused about your questions. To them, it feels quite natural to have grandfather around during meals.

After a while, you notice a rather large turnover of diners. People get up and go to work or sit down as their shift ends. A couple of guards come in as two house servants get up. It is a rather lively table.

"Ah, Marissa, Portia is about to go through a growth spurt, so make sure she gets plenty of food, alright?" -grandpa is talking to a middleage-looking cook.
"Yes sire. Portia, do you want to be taller or more slim?"
"Ah... I just want to be smarter..." -says the spiderkin girl softly
"Uhmm... let's see... I think I read something about spiderkin diet being low in fat because the giant insects they get from their foodgeons are very low on the stuff... I hadn't seen one before and I haven't been to Lapsiona, is the standard of people there slim, busty, tall, wide at the shoulders...?"

"Marissa is something of an expert on healthy food." -explains grandpa
"That's because you are always bringing children of so many races, sire. I had to read a lot on what is healthy for different peoples and what is not, you know?"
"Ah, I see. Well, I noticed the people in Portia's home were very slim...."

>"...flat as boards, really. Why don't we give her something more healthy?"
>"...but that is her culture, and she may want to fit in when she goes back, so we should go with a diet fit to such a place."

Im surprised noone thought on asking her. Anyway, we have a tie, you guys want to change your votes?
>>
>>43352127
We can ask her.
We actually don't even know Lapsionian culture; for all we know, bigger breasts might be a desirable ideal and it's their diet that's holding them back.

We shouldn't presume to know their culture when we haven't even talked with any of them about it, and we've only observed them for less than a week.

Well thats two votes to give her some nutritious food and one for asking her.

"I wanna look like Stella, she's fun!"
"Ah... Stella may be a bit too much fun." -says the cook lady with a grin

Well, yeah... Stella is the most "healthy" of the girls around us, if you know what I mean..., which is kind of odd considering all the exercise and running around and all around trouble she gets into, really.

"Well, I think you could use some meat in those bones, anyway." -the cook lady pour Portia a larger serving including plenty of meat and thick veggies.

"Once everyone is done with the meal, we are going back, alright?"
"Aww... they can't stay for a week ro so? the girls are really fun to have around." -says grandfather
"Well, they are on vacations..." -Wait, is sending them into the dungeon with grandfather more or LESS dangerous than taking them with us?

>Less, he's way overleveled, they'll be fine. Plus we are going into a potentially hostile country

They may be on vacation, but we do need to bring Portia with us, to help Miel get over her arachnophobia.
And there must be summer homework that Zoe and Stella should finish before the next term starts.
We can't let them become NEETs like grandpa.
>>

>>Less, he's way overleveled, they'll be fine. Plus we are going into a potentially hostile country

As long as they stay away from the dungeon heart everything should be fine and the group's succubi have figured out the pattern to finding when and where will be attacked anyway.

>NEETs like grandpa.
This made me laugh so much for some reason

"They may be on vacations but they still have to do homework and study..."

Zoe nods nods while Stella shakes her head as if to say no no. Well... actually Stella wants to go to the military school here in the capital as of next year, so technically she doesn't has homework... she's actually not being lazy, you know?

Well... it would be nice if she studied regardless.

"Do you want to stay with grandpa?"
"Grandpa is fun! we get to smack monsters!" -Stella
"Ah... I wanna stay with brother." -says Zoe softly as she looks down, wiggling her tailtip up and down behind her.
"Well, you can stay or come with me, you don't have to both do the same."
"Wait, I wanna play with brother, too!" -says Stella
"Ah, it seems I lost to the popular older brother" -says grandfather with a smile and a sigh- "Aren't you loved a lot, Eldric?"

"Well, I'm planning on going to some dungeons as well. I want to help both Miels get acquainted with Portia, and it would be fun if you came along."

Both girls seem happy with it.

"And, next year, Stella will be going to school in town, so you'll have her around a lot, right?"
"Yup! Im already signed up for school here."
"Ah, in that case, we'll prepare a nice room for the young lady" -the staff seems happy as well.

Ah... they're going to spoil her, aren't they? well, dad already spoils her a lot at home.

Once dinner is done with, we go back to the rockitship and head over to our bedrooms. Portia is already sleep when we leave her in the girl's room.

"Call me if anything happens, alright?"
"Yes, brother" -Zoe nods nods

Well, it should be alright.

Now...

>Let's go to bed, tomorrow we should be arriving at the capital in Lapsiona

Now that we have a general idea of when the next attack is going to occur, we should really level grind in earnest.

Also, maybe create our own dungeons to have hired workers farm materials to fuel rock-it ship and battle golem manufacturing.
>>
>>43353696
>Let's go to work on Mantequira
We need to work on that mountain of paperwork, and give a report to Ren on our negotiations with the Lapsiona monarchy, as well as briefing her and General Li about the projections concerning the upcoming [ERROR] attacks. The general will undoubtedly want to send some forces to test out weapons and tactics, as well as to get some first-hand battle experience with this enemy type.

And so, after leaving the girls on their room, we prepare to head over to our office and work with miss Yin for a while.

Should we bring some gifts as souvenirs? Let's take some of Miel's honey... that sounds sort of lewd... but it's not. Let's take some honey from home, and some preserved meat and fruit from Heven for Ren's kitchen. That should do it, right?

Ah, but ...

Apparently more people just leave to ties anyway? I miss having 5 or 7 voters, so we couldnt have ties. But IIRC one was sort of mean. Wait for a bit for someone to change their minds I guess?

So, we [Treestride] together with Aritsu and Lyann to Mantequira. As usual, we emerge ifrom the large peach tree in the palace's inner garden.

Well, the inner garden in the government pavillion, anyway.

As we leave the orderly garden and step unto the white stone road leading to our office, we are greeted by some of the palace lion guards and other staff whom have already grown used to us.

Ah, they've finally grown used to remembering our faces. We have been coming to work regularly as of late, so we are no longer being stopped and having our presence questioned.

Of course, the beautiful blonde elven princess and the stunning redheaded beauty with us could probably make us easy to remember, but we prefer to think it is thanks to our diligence. Yes, it is thanks to our hard work. Definitively

As we go into the office, we spot miss Yin at the low table, as usual, sitting on her heels over a pillow while she reads from a pile of documents.

"Miss Yin, hello"
"Ah!" -she was quite focused on her task and didn't notice us until we were next to her, it seems.

Her tails all stiffen for a moment, and then visibly relax. Its kind of fun to watch

"Sir, good evening."

Once the normal greetings are exchanged, we take a seat next to her and receive the documents she wants us to check right away. As usual, Aritsu sits across from her, with Lyann next to her so we can all go through the work.

Thankfully, its not a especially large pule of work today. We HAVE been coming regularly after all.

Uhmm...

The soldiers continuous excursions into the national foodgeons has resulted in a large stockpile of materials. Should these be used for public projects or released to the public at a cheap cost?

Damnit its time for me to go. Tomorrow should be normal, hopefully, but I need to go to that appointment soon. I'll see you guys when I come back in hour or two after checking the place out, in case you want to leave a suggestions, question or such.

How's the construction of Sienar Fleet Yards and Kuat Drive Yards? How's our market penetration into the Black Lake towns?
Have we been keeping track of the cult's activities in Eopolis?

Is Eldric ever going to get a chance to learn the Dreadnaught Job?
>>
Sorry guys, It took a long time, and theres a chance tomorrow's thread will be cancelled because I may need to go around all day looking for a new place
