The world of Horizon's Drop is yours.

Standing on the surface of the barren moon you look towards the blue and gray planet. Once it was your prison but now it is the first of your conquests to bring about your return.

You suppose that your victory is not yet assured. The cryptic warnings of the strange Masked being say that the Osjiic Scout fleet along with the Dagger Pirate Clanship and its protective fleet will arrive within the system in three days. You hope they will be too busy fighting each other to realize a third power has suddenly emerged on the backwater world and overtaken it in their absence.

With the pirates moonbase captured and their hangar of dropships and fighter craft you believe you could at least prove a challenge and even emerge as the victor if you planned carefully and fought well.

You always enjoyed the silence of the vacuum, once comforted by the quiet hymns of the Wormstar but now replaced by a static of whispers and hisses. Sensing Lorgul approach you hear his words in your mind, no atmosphere to carry his words.

"The Base is yours, Lord Jadyk. The fleets are coming. We must prepare," the armored skeleton's voice a grating of stone in your mind.

Tapping your chin in thought you clack your jaw, "Yes, we have much to do."

From taking the base you've gotten quite a haul of supplies.

Captured:
>1 Netu Base Commander, 12 Netu, 8 Humans, 10 Vorh, 3 Kesh, 1 Osjiic, 1 Worker Sunscale
>20 Dropships
>40 Fightercraft
>Armory (120M if converted)
>Corpses (70B)
>Solar System Sensor
>Solar Power Collector
>Dagger Skip Drive (Damaged)
>Lunar Mining Equipment (Drones that harvest 70M daily from a nearby mine, not currently in use)

Your Think Tanks are quite eager to begin work deconstructing the captured technology and turning them to your own use but at this distance they would not be able to control the Talons with the skill needed to perform advanced research.

You've gained a powerful foothold and a chance to reach your grasp out to the stars once more.

But first you must prepare for the coming conflicts.

What shall you do first?

I forgot to add but I have created an Ask.fm for the quest: http://ask.fm/DeathAmongTheStarsQuest

Research Gained:
>Fightercraft: A two person fighter craft using chemical thrusters to maneuver in space it does not carry the supplies or engines powerful enough for interplanetary travel, reliant on carrier ships and surface hangars.

>Solar System Sensor: An advanced collection of sensors connect to several discreet satellites spread through the system allow an advanced warning for approaching craft or asteroids.

>Solar Power Collector: A large dish of black and gray tiles that angle towards the sun to generate energy and even oxygen using a culture of photosynthetic cells.

>Dagger Skip Drive (damaged, chance of destroying sample): Found in the repair bay of the Pirate Base this complex device appears to have been damaged in battle and was in the process of repairing it. Netu minions claim it is an FTL Engine capable of near instantaneous jumps between large gravity wells.

Do you wish to craft a Cauldron and Think Tank on the moonbase or transport research samples to the surface for study?
>>
>>43489766
>Craft a Cauldron and Think Tank on the moonbase
Best place to build our fleet is in space after all.
>>
>>43489766
>>43489801
This I guess, have dropship ferry supplies. restore AA functionality and set up a few more, also make walls to avoid getting attacked from the surface.
>>
>>43489801
I disagree. It'll be fairly obvious to everyone. The best place is hidden, like the canyon or cave since we are still small time
>>
>>43489766
Additional research gained:
>Advanced AA-Tower: A powerful version of the anti-air towers the colony used, this version is capable of attacking and damaging ships in high orbit
>>
>>43489766
Can't we transport a cauldron and think tank to the moon to do the research?
>>
>>43489889
Actually that's very possible.

New vote:
A)Create Cauldron and Think Tank base on Moon
B)Transport research supplies to surface
C)Transport Cauldron and Think Tank to the Moon for research and construction

Interrogation:
What do you ask of your new minions?

I should point out that you've captured a new type of sentient alien you've never encountered. A reptilian humanoid with gray metallic scales.
>>
>>43490026
C

The practical advantages of construction on the Moon outweigh the possible risks of detection.

Also we should do a full interrogation of the new alien before melting them in the Think Tank

Yo think about how fucking vulnerable we'll be to bombardments on the moon.
We should dig a tunnel between mine and canyon, much safer.

Hell, we could make a real base super deep
>>
>>43490026
Quick question, last thread we found a crab thing that was very hard to remove from the rocks they stick to.

They will be the key to many victories

We could use them to make what I call the Crawl Crit.
Modified to withstand being shot out of a special AA tower, they will be launched at enemy ships and crawl along the surface. With the aid of our engineers we could move it to the theoretical best (for us) spot for an explosion.
Once at that spot it will detonate its necrotic, void, or gas bomb build with in it.

Because our creations don't need to breath, the crawl's hard shell and extreme adherence to whatever its on the Crawl could be used almost any where and on any thing.

Can we build it?
>>
>>43490274
I like the name, Crawl Crit. Because almost every hit is a crit.

Undead Bomb Crabs.

Jesus Christ, what have you created, anon?

Even better, they could attempt to breach the hull with acid/digging claws and explode once they're created a fracture point
>>
>>43490026
A dropship lifts off the surface of the moon and tears into the vacuum to retrieve a Cauldron and Think Tank as you and Lorgul turn to the base.

Reentering you find your newly acquired minions waking from the coma that plagues all new unwilling converts to your cause. Even in the face of conquest and subjugation you notice there is one of the captured aliens that still keeps to itself, unique from the others. A six foot humanoid reptilian with patches of its green scales replaced with metallic versions. It looks down at its feet as you approach, picking at the scales of its leg. It tugs away several loose green scales and you see the glint of fresh metallic ones just underneath.

It glances up at you and the spines on its head and neck bristle at your approach but they stay sitting.

"I have yet to encounter your kind before. Tell me your name and of your people," you ask and they stare up at you silently.

Lorgul growls and takes a step forward menacingly but a a Vorh timidly speaks up, chitin paling with fear, "He...uh, he can't speak, he has no tongue."

You glance at the lizard who promptly opens their mouth to show off their short but sharp teeth and true enough, their tongue was little more than a stub. Sighing you turn to the Vorh, "Tell me what you know of him. Please," you ask politely as Talon leans over the Vorhs shoulder hissing to encourage it.

The Vorh lets out a string of prayers in its native language of bubbling clicks before nodding, "T-they're a Sunscale. Most call them Lizards. Space nomads like us but very war-like. We don't know much about them. The Spear Clan comes into conflict with them sometimes. We found this guy, the only survivor of a life-pod. Others died of starvation but he survived barely. Likes to eat metal and looks like his scales slowly replace themselves with the metal. Good worker, knows how to fix things."

You nod and motion to a Troll and it stoops down to drag off the Sunscale. It hisses deep in its throat and retaliates against the trolls grasp. Leaping up with surprising speed it grabs the Trolls arm with both its feet and hands and using its tail to hook around the undead neck. It's body twists and the troll shouts as its arm is broken the wrong way and nearly wrenched from its socket.

You look on in surprise as the Sunscale drops from the Troll on all fours and snarls at you but then it is gagging and hissing as its body convulses from the sudden pain surging through it. Quite impressive that the creature could cause such damage to your Troll.

Lorgul stomps forward and lifts his foot to crush the skull of the alien but the same injured Troll drags the twitching reptilian out of the way just in time. Lorgul whips his head back at you and you shake your own, "I want him alive to see what the Think Tanks can get from him. You must be more gentle, Lorgul."

A pair of Troll secure the unconscious sunscale and drag him off. Lorgul grumbles something but takes his place at your side as you turn to regard the others seated and standing before you.

>Question time
Specifics you wish to know?

>>43490274
Perfectly feasible honestly. With the thermal weapon upgrades they could latch onto ships even better or even dig through the hull if given enough time. If given the Zapper adaptation they could cause even more havoc to a ship if they got to crucial areas.

Already you can feel the dropship being loaded with the Cauldron from the Pirate base, the Think Tank securing itself as it waits for take off.

You gesture to the leader of the base and the tall Netu stands, breath hissing from the holes in its neck, "Your fleet is soon to arrive in several days. I need to know their strength and tactics. How to prepare for them. You will speak the truth or I will know of it and you will know what true agony is before you are rendered down for bone and chitin."

The fear is palpable in the room flooding off the captured minions. The Netu glances around and realizes they truly had no choice, "The Clanship has a protective fleet around it. Clanship is heavy armored and armed. Many dropships and fighters to protect it along with cruisers and corvettes. Their numbers vary as it travels, collecting squadrons or dispatching them. I do not know how many will arrive with it. The Clanship is large and has shields but the Osjiic have been able to find a way to overload them with their void attacks lately. Our inventors were hard at work for a solution, the last time I was with the Clan Fleet."

You nod, "Tell me about the system. Will they arrive directly at this world or at the others?" The dropship lifts into the air and you feel it leave the planet and the almost juvenile joy the Think Tank expressed as it leaves the gravity of the planet.

"Skip Drives means it will appear closer to the biggest gravity wells which would be the star then the gas giant. There is a fuel mining depot run on drones and a...skeleton crew," You hear a human snicker in the crowd only to get an elbow from a worried looking Osjiic, "on the largest moon that we took over from the Osjiic after they left recently. No one goes to the scorched planet," they glance at the crowd towards a netu that wore special lenses over its eyes, "Some did want to go explore the alien ruins there. No tactical value though."

>cont
>>
>>43491033
The singled out Netu lets out an exasperated hiss through its spiracles, throwing up its hands as it shouts at the commander, "We've been overrun by an undead monster and you STILL bring that up? I only thought there might be something interesting since they resemble the ruins on the moons."

The netu commander shrugs and turns back to you look you in the eyes(ockets), "Back to the Clanship. They'll appear at either the gas giant for refueling or they'll appear between this planet and the scorched one before heading this way. We Daggers pride ourselves on our boarding parties. The Clanship and hangar ships carry boarding craft that can punch into Osjiic ships easily enough but you surely know the pain it is to fight Osjiic head on."

>Any more specific questions before we move on to researching and creation?

>>43491124
Ruins, where are they located? Your ship mate is more intelligent than he knows.
>>
>>43491124

What are common salvage operations? Will your people collect salvage after a battle - ships, survivors?

Guys, we should seriously consider hunkering down entirely and just try to ride out the battle if possible.
>>
>>43490575
>>43491124
Ask them of any legends or even rumors of any part of the undead armada surviving.

Then send them and some gargoyles, talons trolls and a think tank to explore the scorched planet. We might not be the only thing locked up in this sector
>>
>>43491182

>just to clarify

Maybe we should just pick the whole planet and system clean and move everyone to the scorched world's ruins. The pirates/Osijics will be too busy kicking the shit out of each other to really look for us.

>>
>>43491363
You can't kill what's already dead

But really if we plan right we can cripple them before they even know we are here. With an army of undead explosive space crabs
>>
>>43491425

I mean, we can do both things. Hide everyone in a bunker for maximum safety and stealth and also leave a minefield of undead bomb crabs in orbit for shits and gigs.
>>
>>43491425
What about just bunkering down until they tire eachother out first before striking? They don't even know we exist, it's unlikely that we'll lose the opportunity of surprise by waiting unless we really fuck up bigtime.
>>
>>43491124
"How does your clan salvage? Relying on boarding parties? Hardly efficient for a living force," you ask of the Netu

"Shuttles with tractor beams and magnetic gathering drones. But yes, we rely on boarding parties and strategic disabling of ship systems to take them over. It is a dream of our inventors to get their hands on the Ahkam Blink technology. Those feathered bastards guard that secret to their graves." You can feel a ripple of amusement move through the crowd with the same human as before letting out a short laugh until the Osjiic smacks the back of their head and grumbles at them.

"Your comrade may be onto something," you say as you turn to the lensed Netu and motion them forward. They stand uncertainly and move forward. They were shorter than the commander with paler chitin, one of the pilots you realize, "Tell me of these ruins, if you would."

"They're uh, old. Very old. The ones on the moon are little more than collapsed caves with pillars or stone buildings that have long since fallen. No real markers but we haven't really investigated too thoroughly. The ruins on the scorched planet look similar but in better shape, believe it or not. Despite the radiation winds they seem to be holding up better and I suspect their structure is larger below the surface. Probes never sense any activity though before they have to return from the radiation storms," They shrug, a very human gesture, "I would guess they're from the time of the early Alliance of Planets era or even before that."

You nod as you mull over the information, the dropship finally arriving and the Cauldron carted out and into the hangar with the Think Tank. Already Talons and Stingers carry corpses and scrap metal from the assault to dump into the cauldron while others start to pull apart and inspect the various new research samples.

>We present you with a challenge. They will fight amongst themselves but you must choose. Be the victor in the bloody battle, or hide and flee. We challenge you to proclaim your skill and to see if you are worth of our...interference,"

Maintaining the element of surprise until the best possible moment before striking does not mean that we will be hiding and fleeing. He told us to proclaim our skill, he did tell us to do so right away.

We'll defeat them when they least expect it, the deed itself will be proclamation enough and if the masked don't like it then fuck them.

As if by rote you ask the collective if there were still remnants of the Necrotic Armada or if knowledge existed of you and the Wormstar. To your disappointment they do not seem anymore knowledgeable than those you had already questioned.

You were about to turn and leave when a Kesh stands up, chirping a few times in fright before they clear their throat, facial flaps flexing nervously, "You..." it struggles with the language of the galactic trade language and you surprise it by encouraging it to continue in the Kesh's native language of chirps and growls.

It nods and blinks its large singular eye and speaks easier in its own tongue, "Kesh legends speak of undead. Star killers and planet eaters. Kesh homeworld long gone, devoured by Lightdrinker. Kesh plot and never forget. Follow Lightdrinker, track her before she disappeared into unknown space," You give your full attention to the Kesh, approaching the arboreal creature.

It falters under your gaze but you chirp to give it encouragement and it takes a breath, "Lightdrinker, Akka-Tor. Before she left for unknown space she devoured a star. Took a new name with her new powers," It trails off and in barely a whisper it says, "Lightdrinker became Sun-Eater. Stars go dark, her wraiths screaming in the void. Sun-Eater consumes all and hungers for the galaxy."

You pat the Kesh on the shoulder, thanking it in its own tongue before turning from the group.

That was quite a tale it spun for you. You mull it over as the Think Tank tinkers away.

>A fast but frail looking construct of bone and metal the Dart Fighters carry a single Stinger Pilot with the option of carrying a handful of troops to release them either on the surface of planets, hulls of ships, or into the void of space. Armed with upscaled Chain-flensers and Heavy Bone Repeaters they whittle away at a the armor and shields of larger ships. Cost: 10B 20M

Created Ship Module/Structure:
>Solar Energy Converter
>A large dish of black and gray bone it absorbs solar radiation and energy, using them to charge and even grow the necrotic crystals your vehicles rely on for power. These same crystals can be farmed and used to fuel the Cauldrons with Biomass. The crabs need some basic maneuverability - gas thrusters are a must! They should also have very strong claws and used for breaching ship hulls.
>>
>>43492188
Only the adaptations they need. These are one use guys so we should have them be made fast and cheap. Think quality over quantity.
>>
>>43492188
>Solar powered biomass farms

Welp we found a use for that sun scorched planet no one wants.
>>
>>43492203

Man, if Jadyk had his body repaired enough to SPEAK he would STILL be able to look like an undead abomination and get every bitch in the universe hopping on his 'bone, even the ones that aren't Necro-oriented.
>>
>>43492262
There own explosion breaches the hull. Then more move in. Repeat until victory.

Just spam these guys a lot and fast, but add a lot of necrotic energy to the explosion to do more crippling damage to the ships
>>
>>43492188
As others have stated, the crabs need some basic maneuverability in a vacuum, so thrusters of some sort would be must. Don't need to be terribly sophisticated, just a gas bag that can be vented in any direction would do.

We also need the EM adaptation, so they can cripple vital systems without blowing it to smithereens. That way we can capture ships for even MORE reverse engineering goodness.
>>
>>43492369

Damage could be much worse if they wedged themselves into the ship hull first.
>>
>>43492396
Necrotic energy should suffice for now as a substitute for EM
>>
>>43492369
I say we have them use electricity to blind ships instead of necrotic energy to just blow them up. That's kind of a waste if you ask me.

With the Cauldron hard at work you stick your hands deep into the liquid and work to create a new creation for your upcoming battles. You were quite inspired by the creature discovered in the swamps and with the spherical creature in mind you start to shape and carve bone and chitin.

The first of them crawl from the lip then curl themselves into a sphere of bone to roll about the floor. Uncurling they scuttle around the room, the multitude of legs underneath glowing faintly with thermal energy.

>Created Crit Crawl
>Based on the Shieldshell crustaceans Crit Crawls resemble isopods with dense shells of metal and bone. A dozen sharp legs burn with thermal energy allowing them to clutch to the surface of ships or buildings with ease. Crit Crawls can navigate through the vacuum of space with methane thrusters set in the crevices of their shell. Able to drift in the void of space for weeks at a time before needing a recharge of necrotic fluid they are meant as anti-ship weapons and saboteur attacks. Crit Crawls are able to detonate themselves with great explosive strength once they crawl to crucial sections of the targets ship. When in hibernation sensors mistake them for little more than harmless space debris. Cost: 3B 5M

Crit Crawls can be equipped with the Zapper adaptation at the cost of replacing the explosive/necrotic energy attack. The electric attack takes a while to recharge but does not cost the loss of the unit.

>>43492530
A happy coincidence. I said sting missiles based off the modern day stinger missile system. But yeah maybe HQQ is leaking through a lot, sorry ):
>>
I suggest we focus on a lot of AA guns as that alien said they specialize in boarding and raiding. Blow them out of the sky, and you remove their melee strength.
>>
>>43492751
Good, now ether modify one of the existing AA guns to launch them in to space or make one from scratch.

Them fill the sky's above us with a fuck ton of them as soon as we can. They will wait for the enemy to come and as there ships pass through what they think is harmless space junk they will be covered in the crawl.

Make 1/3 have zappers
>>
>>43492767

So we build a bunch of Prism towers?
>>
>>43492751

Mass produce the bug mines.

Put them in orbit in likely jump spots. The key thing is this: the bugs can latch on ships and can detonate after the battle is over.
>>
>>43492751
How many of your new little critters do you wish to create?

The Think Tanks say that they can consume and recreate the Dagger Dropships and Fightercraft into your Darts and Dropships for equal the cost or you can consume them for their metals for other projects.

>Y/N?

>>43492530
Whoops, forgot to answer the cost question
Needle Missile Pod: 8M
Sting Missile Pod: 14M

>>43492883
At the moment you do not have the capability to launch them from the surface. It is easy enough to spread them using a Dropship or even having Darts carry a trio to launch at a ship using momentum
>>
>>43492751
We can use the lizards as a beserker unit since theyre fast and deadly, just add a few upgrades.
>>
>>43492941

>>

>Convert Dagger ships into Reconstructed Ships?
Yes

Also, is there any chance we could build some advanced AA towers on our new moon base and utilize them in the upcoming battle? Would advanced AA towers be able to hit shit in orbit or in the area of space around the moon/planet?
>>
>>43492980
>Y
>>
>>43492980

N.

Leave the dropships as they are - we can load them with our troops and use them to board an enemy ship in a pinch. Pirates/Osijic may not take in an obviously foreign looking drop ship, but they would definitely collect a "damaged" drop ship.
>>
>>43492980
Why can't they be launched from a modded AA tower?

20 EM Crawlers- 80B 140M

>>
>>43493166
If they blow up there own crashed ships if there is a risk of infiltration would they really let us in?

We should instead use them to bait the Osijic in to a trap
>>
>>43493050
The 8 Advanced AA towers you have captured are on the side facing the planet. They were placed to fire into the back of any force heading towards the planet though you can place some onto the darkside of the planet.

>Advanced AA-Tower: An upgraded form of the current AA-towers this more powerful weapon is able to strike ships in high orbit. Similar to the standard form but slower to charge and fire their energy beams. Cost: 30M

>>43493229
Darts can hold one Missile pod type
Dropships can carry two, typically one of each though that can be changed to have both be one type.

Looks like the consensus is save the Dagger Dropships.
Also save Fightercraft or convert?

The halls of the Base are soon filled with clusters of rolling spheres and scuttling domes of metal, a fifth of them sparking occasionally with static buildup. They are quickly herded into dropships where they curl up to save space.

I like how our Rival / Bro / Frenemy Ghul had us as a last / remnant thought, and trusted us / knew us well enough to trust us with his unwilling legacy and the future of his slice of the Necromantic Armarda.

Sadly the Lightdrinker / Sun-Eater has probably gone irreversibly insane or if not, probably guaranteed to hold our absence against us and be our enemy for a few hundred millennia.

Yeah, we're still needing to go after her though. No way we can take the Osjic empire if their warriors iced Ghul as primitives without magic.

Their warriors didn't Ice Ghul though, it was a pair of Gods, they came down personally to wreck Ghul's shit in a bid of power, they just taught the Osjic how to siphon off bits and pieces of Ghul.

Hell, I'm willing to bet that Ghul could have handled them even, he was at the height of his power unlike Jadyk right now, only one of them was powered by the same shit he was.

Your dropships, chariots, and new darts travel along the surface of the moon searching for a suitable place to hide your fledgling fleet. Here were numerous craters but few places hidden from aerial view.

It was one of your Chariots that discovered a suitable location. At the impact site of a long ago meteor strike that shattered a mountain ridge. Under a ridge of shattered cliff there was a long but shallow cave where the crust had tilted up.

It would suffice to hide fighters and dropships but larger craft would not be able to hide without excavation. Your Darts move to hide themselves in the shadow of the cave, the Stingers within going into hibernation as they wait.

Mother in the Void and the Father from the Solar actually killed Ghul's patron (or so they say), a "God" that controlled the Void and bestowed it upon Ghul and the Voidknights.

>>43494067
The Wormstar was Jadyks connection to the Court. Without the Wormstar they can't connect to the others.

The Court was more of an alliance of powerful undead and undead controlling entities than a physical location. They saw a chance to turn the galaxy to their own image once they conquered it. Each member of the Court would've gained an equal share of the Galaxy to rule.

A new collection of Diggers hovers out to join the Dagger drones in the lunar mine, surprised by the richness of the ore on the moon.

Within the depths of the moonbase you create a handful of additional Think Tanks, knowing you'll need their skills and assistance in controlling your forces in the coming battle. For now you set them to studying the Skip Drive with the assistance of the Dagger engineers explaining the complex mathematics and engineering specifications needed to repair, create, and operate one.

Dagger Dropship armor = Reconstructed Dropship armor < Osjiic Dropship Armor
Dagger fightercraft armor < Dart Armor

>>43494768
Shields function much like the FTL game. Always on, advanced and larger ships can have multiple layers but its costly as fuck. Sufficient damage causes the shield to drop temporarily or at least for the duration of battle as the projectors overheat. Some ships are able to reboot their shields in the midst of battle. Daggers and Osjiic do not have this.

Special Ion weaponry can disable them quickly but you do not have access to such technology yet

>>43494838
The Dart and Dropship (need a better name for our type) sort of do have a built in pilot. Similar to a Stinger in build they connect directly to the ship and are essentially only able to leave if the ship crashes and they survived.

After speaking with the Netu base commander you learn they did send a message ahead to the Gas Giant but in the days since they have received no answer to their hails. The Commander is unsure why they would go silent like this but says anything from technical difficulties, surviving Osjiic attackers, or the like could be the cause.
>>
>>43494838

>>
>>43494878
For a better name try Pin and Needle

But what happens when an object comes in contact with the shield? It's it destroyed or can it sit on top of it?
Can the shields block necrotic radiation?

Then we convert the material of the drained ships to make what I'm going to continue calling pins and needles
>>
>>43494980

He's talking about opening up the pilot seat and just depositing a giant loogie of Necro-powered biomass with the directive of "Shove your nervous tissue / Fine manipulator appendages into EVERYTHING and then wait for a Think Tank or me to tell you to do other stuff."

It's basically making a drone out of a manned craft by replacing the man with a giant direct-interface USB port.
>>
>>43494988
Beams fizzle and slugs are vaporized. Shields do block most of necrotic energy but the "radiation" that leaks through is not enough to cause significant immediate damage to a ship.

Personal shielding has not yet been perfected except in rare instances across the galaxy.

Dropships are now called Coffins

Ships and weapons fire can exit but cannot enter. It's a one-way door, if that makes sense. To take in ships they would have to temporarily turn off their shields which means it takes until the end of a battle before they normally drop them to take in their ships.

Some shield tech does allow friendly ships to enter through a shield but the Daggers do not have access to that.

The Osjiic battlecruisers and battleships do.

If we're not going to vote on new units right now, can you tell us how big our resource pile will be at the start of the next thread? I'd like to get my write ins in order.

>All these fantastic puns.
I really hope Jadyk either revives or finds his fellow members of the Undying Court, if only to share his puns with someone.

Stockpile:
>2545B (15 Catoblepas: 450B daily, 4Herds: 80B daily)
>1988M (6 Diggers: 120M daily, Miners: 160M daily, Lunar Mine: 10 Diggers, Mining drones: 270M)

Also remembered that the Miners were building and expanding mining operations/mountain fortress construction.

>>43495248
Setting is mostly figured out but expanding constantly.
I don't want to admit how much of the story is winging it based around a vague plot and outline.

>>43495281
I'm going to look at the suggested troops for how we can start on Saturday. Start of next thread will have the Fleets arriving the next day
If the Masked was telling the truth, afterall
>>
>>43495308
I'll keep them coming, but if we ever need to go incognito out fake name should be Bill Door. If you get the reference than you have good taste
>>
>>43495313
But how do you feel about the ships being named coffin and nail?
>>
>>43495313
Could you add venom glands to the default Cyclops design? I assume they all have them, but I have to remember to add the adaptation cost to them whenever we make them.

I'll edit their base design to include them as a default.

Other units can still get the venom gland adaptation.

>>43495341
I was kind of attached to the name Darts for the fighters but I suppose nails could work just as well if I do name the dropships coffins. Dropships are more like the HQQ style shuttles in that once you get proper combat ships beyond these two they will be relegated to resource management.

All this talk of darts, stingers, needles, pin missiles keeps making me think the reconstructed resemble wasps in a way.
>>
>>43495433
But we are keeping with a pun theme, even if we had lips we would still be smiling
>>
I like Affably evil / neutral Jadyk.

He's everybody's friend, up until they aren't, or he needs your body to be broken down for more efficient workers / unique biological traits he can apply to units.
>>
So Jyoti, how many times has the Dread Wormstar metaphorically patted itself on the back for the decision to elevate The worm that was Jadyk over the eons?

I love how Jadyk is inevitably going to end up as Daggerfall Mannimarco

>Scary as fuck
>Rather cordial and welcoming, presumably you aren't rude
>Friendly because he can afford to be
>So powerful that the Daedric Prince that fucking HATES Undead with all the fury of ten thousand burning stars is afraid to push the line
>Covered in bitches, so many bitches, what the fuck, where does he get so many fine bitches?
>Oh, he raises them from childhood to be fine nigh-immortal murder bitches.
>If he wants to be a skelly, he's a fucking skelly, if he wants flesh to give a bitch the giant D, he has it.
>Stylin' on everyone.

I guess a couple millennia of entombment really mellows out liches.

Back then he was all about raising cain and stripping entire worlds of life for the glory of the Wormstar.

Now, eh, live and let die. The living pull their weight well enough and don't start shit, so whatever. Not like he's got any reason to shake the boat and rush his return to the intergalactic stage, he's got nothing but time after all.
>>
>>43496296

I thought it was said somewhere that the Undying Court wasn't really all about "Death to all Living!" and was more "Death to the living who aren't on our side!" and had entire civilizations of living inside their borders?

I might just be carrying on from a line or two Jyoti said, but the Undying Court wasn't retarded enough to throw away such a valuable resource as living subjects.
>>
>>43496325
I think you're right, it's just the overall tone of his leadership that has changed I guess.

>>43496229
This sums up my view of Jadyk perfectly.

Except for maybe the bitches. For now.
>>
>>43496390

The bitches are non-negotiable.

Naturally, I expect Jyoti to just gloss over the entire issue, but they will be there, and everyone knows it.
>>
>>43496390
>>43496422
No no, he needs the bitches, he just can't remember why.
>>
>>43496812

He's not THAT senile man.
>>
>>43496812
>>43496939
I like to think that once we get under way and start building palaces and castles worthy of an interstellar king, Jadyk will just add them because that's what any self respecting interstellar lord did when he was entombed. And everybody who's aware of it is too intimidated to tell him that nobody does that sort of thing anymore, so rumors just start going around about him being a total pimp.
>>
>>43497062

Kinda reminds me of that time in Predator Quest where we rolled a nat 20 when giving the Dick to a female.

That was a glorious moment.
>>
>>43496939
It's not that he is old and senile, it's that he was a fucking SLUG. He has no reproductive instincts, at least not the way anyone would think of as reproduction
>>
>>43497418

He was only a Worm for a comparatively short amount of time.

He's completely swapped out body types and physiological layouts throughout his unlife, and he clearly doesn't plan on stopping that. I think we all know where this is going to end up.

It always ends with Bowy
>>

Anon, anon stop. You do not want me to start discussing slug mating habits here. If you thought ducks had weird dicks, you don't even wanna know what slugs have got.

I wasn't referring to the dicks themselves, I was referring to the love darts.
>>
>>43498638

I thought that was only flatworms? Also, Flatworms write their memory into chemicals inside their body, if another flatworm or similar enough creature eats them or feels said chemicals, they can experience the original flatworm's memories, simple as they may be, real Lovecraft-tier shit if you ignore how rudimentary those creatures are.

While that is utterly fascinating, I am quite sure love darts are integral feature of the mating rituals of certain species of slugs and mollusks.

Which is rather disturbing to consider in the context of our kinetic weapons and fighter ship designs. Might explain Jadyk's preference for weapons firing barb like projectiles at extreme speeds.
>>
>>43489520
Can we please, please, please god forge one of the Voidsingers into our body already so we can exploit the power of the Void?
>>
>>43495214
so why are we not mass producing crit crawlers, drop ships and ground troops. Use drop ships to make a huge minefield of crit crawlers, have them all go dormant near moon base, build AA towers to attract attention

wait for the battle to being

let them damage each other for a bit, as one side gets the upper hand, open fire with towers, as enemies move in to attack, activate crit crawlers

disable as many ships as possible...board, capture, turn repeat.

also can we invent infect critters? say, a basic infantry that attacks an enemy, grapples them and implants a control chip like our armour?
>>

>>43496390
>>43496422
You people are going to ruin this quest. You faggots who always subvert "tropes" and try to make them "cool". Ugh.
>>
>>43498921
We are, we're churning out these units as fast as our resources come in. The only way we could produce even more of them is to increase our income, but given our tight time scale we've so far been opting to focus on turning over as many frontline units as possible instead of investing in harvesting units, by and large.

>>43498974
>Trying to subvert 'tropes'
>While taking inspiration from a 20 year old vidya character
Whatever you say bud.
>>
>>43499057
You're debating between making him David Bowie and Mannimarco, both two guys who don't really fit the whole tone of "mass murdering undead lich-alien that used to be a bodiless slug"

I'm not saying he has to make dull speeches, whine about a phylacetry or just be mister generic villain but why the fuck are we discussing making him a fabulous pimp, that's fucking retarded.
>>
>>43498938
That's a good pic for Lorgul honestly.
>>
>>43499057
>>43498921
The plan was for the thread to be used for discussing what and how many troops we want to retroactively make in prep for the fleets arrivals so Jyoti can start off with it ok Saturday thread
>>
>>43499140
>>43498974

Y'know Jyoti's main inspiration for this entire thing was The Hive from Destiny right? With the Main Man Oryx himself finally pushing him over the line?

Even Oryx had bitches, granted his two main bitches were his daughters while his sons were out and about fighting each other in foreign corners of the universe, but Oryx had bitches.

The best villains are pimps, or are affably evil, or are polite smiling monsters, Jadyk so far has been all of these, Mannimarco was all of these, David Bowie in Labyrinth was all of these.

Hell, even the Overmind had a bitch.
>>
>>43499371
>granted his two main bitches were his daughters
Please anon, we aren't Shadow Quest.
>>
>>43499371
Yeah, this quest is going to descend into waifu shit and bollocks soon.

Just like Joker Quest and Aspiring Emperor Quest did.
>>
>>43499737

/tg/ loves Empire building more than waifus, /tg/ loves Necromancy more than waifus, /tg/ loves HAHA! SCIENCE! more than waifus, /tg/ loves MAGICSCIENCE! more than waifus.

So no, it's probably not going to descend into waifu shit, you pessimistic cunt, at worst it's going to end up like Hive Queen quest and be a fucking joke people poke fun at.

The only time this would ever probably be a serious issue is with the Lightdrinker / Sun-Eater, and that would probably be more about a way to rejoin those two branches of the Undying Court rather than true waifu'ing, and it probably won't mean much beyond "Yeah, we got hitched a couple billion years ago, we only see each other every fifteen millennia and are good friends and enemies."
>>
>>43499737
Are you one of the anons who downvote these threads en mass when the Jyoti forgets to put the quest tag on them? Because you come across as being that level of salty for no reason.
>>
>>43499737
I think Jyoti avoids waifus and such.

I think he might be gay or asexual
>>
>>43499903
Or he just keeps his private life private
>>
>>43499799
Aspiring Emperor has all of those things besides Necromancy, which it replaces with elves, becoming a god and other shit.

Joker had mechs and awesome combat. tg loves both of those, didn't save it.

>>43499893
Excuse my pessimism; /tg/'s known for it's great quest track record, right? I mean, no quest ever became shit over time because people would be like "lol, lets make Risa randumb because it'll be funny lol" or "of course the soulless sociopath can have friends, they've been acting like they're friends this whole time" (which in particular annoys me because the word acting is in that sentence but people can't be aware, can they?)

So, no. I've seen a lot of good quests turn shit, right around the 10 mark too. The way this is going, it'll join them.

>>43499903
Well, this is one of the few things that might actually result in things turning out well.
>>
>>43500303
Pretty sure Joker was far and away not a waifu quest.
>>
>>43500317
Wtf? Is this asshole really posting this in EVERY thread?
>>
>>43499903
>>43500303
I'm pretty sure that Jyoti avoids waifus to keep this kind of drama away.

I doubt this quest will crash and burn as fast as you think. His Ghoul Civ was waifu-free even at 45+ threads.

But then again it was full of mutants and undead. Furthest he went was having the two leaders of the tribe be a couple and having a goblin/human (both ghouls) lesbian couple
>>
Bump.

Anyone going to post planned units?
