/tg/ - Traditional Games

After dying on a plane accident, a fellow fa/t g/uy and chemical engineer is reborn to a world of Swords & Sorcery, the kind of world he used to dream about.

As a huge plus, this new world runs on old times JRPG mechanics, with him being able to see his and other people's levels and character sheets. He can go into dungeons and even tame wild moneters, but, his new awesome life is in danger because of a "cascade of errors" in the system that makes his new world, leading to a spill over of strange monsters that are threatening his new world.

Now aged (almost) 15, Eldric is trying to gather nations under the Coalition's banner in order to ready a solid defense when these [ERROR]s invade again!

***
Warning: This thread is built in both old JRPGs, modern games, old and new memes and jokes, as well as lewd and cheap humor. If any of these things offend you, cry me a river. And put a ward on it

Seriously though, we have an agoraphobic dragon who doesn't wants to come out of her pĆ³keball because fuck the outer world, you know, and a bunch of "empty headed" succubus who also happen to be frikking geniuses but have the attention span of a 4 years old except for the things THEY like.

Anyway guys, let me know when you are here and we'll get started. We had just arrived to Anelosimus and landed on a garrison's lot

So we never got around to asking the Lapsionians or Portia if they can spin and weave spider silk, or tested it to see if it's equivalent to steel.

Actually they can't, and it was mentioned before that "we were surprised to see no spider silk on the market."

Not ALL spiders spun silk. Larger spiders are roaming hunters, and they dont come much bigger than spiders that are horse sized.

I just had an idea. We had already established that their diet is protein rich but very low in fat, so what if that's why they don't weave silk? they can't spare the energy for it, so maybe they only do it when its for socially important reasons like a wedding dress or such? just a thought I just had.

But yeah, originally it was because they are not "hide and wait" spiders, they can use weapons, and its just better to shoot a bird with an arrow than to sit around and wait, if you want to be have a civilization. I think

Everyone is capable of it, but it's not done much because it requires proteins and calories, when using dropped materials is usually more efficient.
There's still special times when they'll produce silk, but generally it's just as easy to buy woven products. People still do it if it's more convenient, or they want to save money.

I really REALLY like your suggestion but we got two votes otherwise. You guys would be okay switching to this idea or do you wanna stick with your selections? Also, Im pretty sure they wont be poisonous, just so you know, but I may be biased because where I live there are large roaming spiders that hunt by jumping on top of little birds and bugs and such.

Also, I cant find a documentary on them (in english), but suffice to say we call it the chicken spider, and that it IS size-related :P

Im a bit surprised on the fact that as interesting as it is to see a spider hunting like a cat, all the videos i could find on youtube were only about "top 10 most poisonous spiders" and such.
>>
>>43502257

This video has a "chicken spider" catching a mouse. If you are squimish, dont watch it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJBsiAXlL_M

This one is the same spider, minus the violence

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKepoHAO7Ys

Honestly, I like animals but I couldnt keep one that demanded live sacrifices, you know? I want my pets to greet me happily and eat from a bowl

Easy size reference. Lots of people playing with a chicken spider being sold as a pet

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zHXm5ThSK0

Anyway, you guys seem to have liked the idea of them only spunning silk for specuak gifts and such, and I think thats a good idea, so let's go with it.

So, no spider silk on the market.

Also, uh, a chilean enterprise called AndeSpiders exports chilean spiders to the US, in case anyone wants one. 3 to 12 dollars, and the females live up to 25 years.

The rockit ship is guided towards a garrison, and once we land we are quickly and predictably surrounded by the local troops.

The captain of the squad that received us sent a few soldiers ahead of us to explain the situation, so they are there on a ceremonial role, rather than anything else.

Their uniform consists of numerous wide "sleeves" down their legs, which show the colors and insignia of their ranks and regiment.

Much like the soldiers we saw before, they only wear some jewelry on their human torsos, and even then only scarcely to keep proper homogeneity with each other, as corresponds to any disciplined army.

Gold torcs decorate necks and upper arms almost universally, with a sturdy body harness to hang tools and weapons from. Most of them wear small bits of matching armor, and if this wasn't an RPG-based world, we would harbor serious questions on its protection levels. As it is, however, perhaps those bits count as heavy armor?

Chest, shoulders and hips are "protected" with armor bits that would seem almost casual and decorative in our previous world.

Well, the definition of "armor" in this world has always been different from our old world... we certainly abuse that to tease Lyann often enough by getting her lewder and lewder armor... That and the fact that nobody else seems to think anything about it thanks to her dancer jobs.

Normally, the weather is very humid and hot, which is ...less than comfortable, and not a weather you want to endure with layers of clothes sticking to you.

I wonder, do their spider bodies sweat? do spiders sweat? the locals do wear plenty of decoration on their spider half and legs, but nearly nothing on their human torsos.

After a few minutes, the officer in charge comes to greet us.

A tall, muscular female, she's built like an athlete rather than a bodybuilder, thin and nimble. She is wearing long leggings with the regiment's symbol displayed, and no vibisle weapons. She has a gold torc with matching upper arm bracelets and no harness.

A blue hat is decorated with a large bright red feather. Her hair is short and she has a pleasant, but smart looking expression on her attractive face.

"We am pleased to greet you, on behalf of our people, with great hope for a peaceful future." -Okaba greets the officer as he offers both hands in greeting.

Right, that is how the nobles greeted us at the banquets back in Heven, so it must betraditional.

The officer nods as she places her hands on his, gently, and invites us into her office to inquire about the details of our visit.

*** A little bit later ***

"Our lord will meet with you tomorrow evening, after which he hopes you will accept a dinner invitation" -says the officer once her messenger returns from the palace.

Coronel Kathleen (as she introduced herself) wants to invite us to a meal in her residence tonight, as means of an apology for the delay.

On the other hand, we could spend the evening in the ship or wandering around the less sensitive areas of the regiment as guests.

"By tomorrow, we will be able to arrange a proper escort in case you wish to visit our fair city." -she says

>Accept the invitation and dress up for the event. It will be a good chance to see more of their culture and perhaps learn some local mannerisms.
>Ask her instead to dine with us on the ship, to show her the many different goods and foodstuff the Coalition has to offer. In a casual and relaxed manner, of course.

"Alright, we are going. You girls have fun, but go to sleep early, alright?" -Lyann says while kissing Zoe and Stella's forehead, then Portia's.

Nina and the other harpies look at her with big expectating eyes, so she sighs and gives them each a forehead kiss as well. They look quite happy now.

Well, they're children, after all. They sure enjoy being loved and pampered.

"Now what did I say?" -she asks the lot of them
"Have fun and go to bed!" -they say together
"Alright. Good girls. We'll bring back late but not too late, so you should all be sleeping already, understood?"
"Yes!" -they chorus

They all look as if they were about to run wild and were just waiting for the grown ups to go... but surely no, right? Well, this won't backfire, right? there's plenty of adult crewmembers to keep them in chack... right?

"Brother, have fun!" -Stella says with a smile

Ah... it will be fine, right? they won't burn the ship or anything like that, right?

Right?

Mako is wearing a beautiful short dress made of silk. White and blue with flower patterns all over. A turtle neck and long sleeves, as well as a short, plated skirt... it looks somewhat like a cheongsam, but insteaf of covering the legs and exposing the arms, this version shows off her legs while keeping her upper body hidden away. Well, of course she looks beautiful. Mako has a great figure, which the dress somehow enhances, and she has great legs, you know?

...I'm a bit bothered by it. I guess I don't want people looking at my Mako's legs...

Okaba is wearing his traditional attire, with bright red and white pants and a soft, long flowing open jacket with slits for his wings. He's not wearing any jewelry, but our friend has never been fond of such.

1/?
>>
>>43504815

Honoria is wearing a elegant long dress... it is a good thing that the weather is nicer at night. It looks soft but stuffy... it surely is ideal for her mountain home, but in the tropic, she's liable to get a heatstroke. We should probably take her to talk with master Tazar and get her something more proper for these parts.

Asmund is wearing a nicely cut three piece suit with fluffy sleeves... well, he's from not-britain, right? I guess it was to be expected?

To be honest, Dawn's long and super adorned victorian dress is much more of a surprise than anyone else's attire. I can't decide if this is the same bubblegum-colored succubus that runs around with a dirty nose playing pranks on everyone, or someone else. Did she had a "elegant noble girl/nosy prankster" mode switch somewhere?! what the hell is this, she's so proper and ladylike, she's a bit scary!

Ah, ah! she's grinning! its another prank, isn't it? she just let it built up for years before now, goddamnit!

Wait, let me visualize... lets try placing her normal figure on top of this one... it doesn't match. It just doesn't match at all!

"Pray tell, young sir, you do seem most unwell. Is something the matter?" -she asks politely
"..."

Raising his arms, Eldric just turns around for a moment, then facepalms while Dawn chickles very quietly unto her left hand behind him.

"Sister dear, please do forgive our friend. He appears to be unwell." -says Asmund while trying not to smirk

Et tu, Brutus?

Fine, whatever.

Aritsu and Sinoe are wearing matching dresses in white and green. They look very soft and elegant... it fits them really well. Yes, this is what a couple of elven princesses should look like. Its a very refreshing and calming picture.

Alard is wearing a lighter colored version of Asmund's suit, much like ourselves.

that feels like something from a spy movie. I'd expect a russian female fatale to wear that under a bullet rain as she shoots back with james bond driving the car.

Which is to say, I love it, but dont know about the rest. I guess it comes down to, would she buy her own dress for such ocassions, would she try to dress to please Eldric, or for herself? would Eldric buy her a dress for elegant ocassions, would it be like that, and of course and most, important, what do you think?

As a dancer, she could wear nothing but a scarf and it would still be thought of as perfectly appropiate by those around her.

Link pretty much related https://pat.primecdn.net/pics/original/51/518c8c1f.jpg

Now I feel like I wanna give her a scarf scene at some point, maybe shortly after they marry and are in private? or something like "Eldric, I want children" and he going "ok"
>>
>>43505462
Anyway, lets go with that since nobody seems to have objected, and I have said repeatedly that silence implies consent.

***

Lyann looks dazzling in her modern, daring red dress. Of course, it was made by master Tazar according to our tastes.

A daring cut here and there, a tall side slit, and legendary-quality silk give a naturally stunning result on the beautiful young woman by our side.

Atroma is wearing a long white dress in a simpler style than Dawn's, albeit with a fresh and girly look. She also sports a wide wing hat with flowers... she looks very cute, like the daugther of a wealthy family.

As for Fahima, her clan's fashion is not very different from the locals. She is adorned with some jewelry, but otherwise bare. Her figure is a lot more curvy than the locals, but she's fit and atlethic all the same, plus her gliding along the floor is very smooth and naturally elegant. I'm trying to say, there's no bouncing involved.

I hope you know what I mean.

And so, we board the carriages the coronel sent for us and head towards the manor.

Honestly. I am still a bit worried about the girls (Zoe, Stella, Portia, Nina, etc) back in the ship. They will be fine, right? The ship will be fine, right?

The carriages themselves are quiite large, and pulled by a large, bright blue and golden bettle. Well, the spiderkin have very large bodies, so it is only to be expected. There are two rows of seats running along the inside of each carriage, where we can easily imagine the locals rest their large lower bodies while it is in motion.

Honestly, these feel as large as beds. It is a little bit uncomfortable to be unable to support one's back while sitting, but its not a problem for such a short trip.

1/?
>>
>>43505694
What about Miel? Is she still hiding?
Maybe the two of them are hiding in our jacket pockets?
>>
>>43505462
btw would that pic break any rule? since im not sure, I linked to it instead of posting it

>>43505694

"Ah!" -Mako lets out a little cry as the carriage starts moving.

Well, there's no backing on the seats so its easy to lose your balance. Also, there's nothing bad about it, it gives us fair cause to hold Mako and that's never bad, wouldn't you agree?

"Thank you" -she says with a smile
*smooch* -we couldnt help but give her a kiss
"Eldric, what are you doing? this is not the right time...!" -she blushes a little, but looks happy
"No, no" -Eldric shakes his head- "It is always the right time to kiss my Mako"
"...meanie" -she says as she blushes much brighter now

Miel is riding on Lyann's small but colorful hat, dressed in a long (well, everything is relative) golden dress with deep cuts on either side, which exposes her back to allow her to freely use her back.

The coroner's manor on sight, the carriages slow down to a stop, and we are welcomed by a line of servants ready to attend to us.

Inside, the building is quite spacious, with very wide hallways and doors, as well as walls with artistic if deep engravings.

Well, if I was a spider, I'd like my house to have easy to climb walls, I guess.

The coroner welcomes us herself. She has her short hair arranged into a bum, with what are probably hair extensions cascading down her back.

Those are hair extensions, right? do the spiderkin have cosmetic magic?

Her dress looks like a very complicated yet elegant looking system of soft cloth lines wrapping around her spider body and cascading gracefully down her legs, while her upper body is almost accidentally covered by the end of the cloth lines before cascading down before her.

Probably.

"Thank you for honoring my house, your highness, your excellencies." -she greets us politely, and invites us in

Well, there are proper seats a the dining table. Thankfully

As for dinner itself, the dishes mostly feel very frutal in taste. Even those which are obviously meat. It seems they use fuit sauce on pretty much everything.

The meat is white, by the way. If it wasn't for the texture, one would think it is fish of some sort... it... I really don't want to say it...

...well, its fine, it -looks- like chicken, but it has its own flavor. Somewhat bland, but the fuit sauce helps a great deal.

Of course, there are plenty of salat. This is a tropical region, with fruits and vegetables that are foreign to our table.

The colonel os understandably worried by the horrors from outside the world that ate one of her country's smaller cities.

All things considered, three minutes of silence and a stunned expression is a perfectly valid reaction.

"And you have... no, I mean, there were witnesses?" -she manages to say after a few minutes
"Indeed, we rescued any survivors we could and took them to the closest safe city."
"Why haven't we heard about it?"

We did stay for about a week in the last town. News of these events MUST have reached the capital already.

Are the nobles keeping the situation a secret for some reason?

"Perhaps we can ask his majesty tomorrow during our audience" -suggests Asmund in between sips of his drink
"Well, that will be so." -says the colonel- "What sort of forces does it takes to fight these things? I assume they are the main reason your excellencies are seeking a deal with our nation?"
"So far, their leaders seem mindless, but their weak spots had been constant. The eyes seem to be the only real part of the creatures, and they are not easily accessible." -says Eldric
"The last one had an eye inside its mouth, it was most unpleasant." -says Dawn with a delicate tone of voice and elegant gesture

Yeah, I want to ask her what she did with the real Dawn, too.

"I see... in that case, we should begin drilling the troops on the right tactics to fight these things."

"...understandable."

We continue talking about more agreeable topics with the colonel, and after a while, are invited to the lounge to relax enjoying local dancers and music before the end of the evening.

As for their dancing styles, noone was surprised by the fact that it is mostly focused on the upper bodies, giving special focus to the hands and eyes, but also borrows heavily on the ease of movement and steadiness that 8 legs would grant to a body.

Also, the dancers the colonel invited seem to be the first people we have seen since arrival, that bother with what we would think of as proper clothing, for some reason.

"Colonel, thank you for your hospitality." -after we are done with the after dinner show, we thank the colonel for being a gracious host when she escorts us back to the ship.

We do notice a large number of troops hiding some distance away, apparently waiting for a signal from the colonel, but Catlheen never gives the sign and the evening ends peacefully enough.

We thank the colonel and see her carriage go, then mention the troops.

"If I had to guess, half of them are from the king's faction, and the other half belong to the nobles" -says Okaba as he helps Aura up the ramp into the rockit ship
"So... not as monolithic as they could be, then? I was beginning to feel it was odd how every one of our countries had a solid centralized government" -says Eldric
"You do not have a centralized government." -says Asmund- "Don't you have a senate?"
"We do," -Alard explains- "but it acts as one after a decision has been made."

"It is not as orderly in Lapsiona. Sometimes the king or the nobles will undermine each other simply to chip away at each other's power. Their military is larger than ours. We should have a much harder time fighting them than we do, but their internal power struggles are a great help." -says Aura, showing a political knowledge we honestly did not expect of her
"Well, the rockit ships should help with that, soon." -adds Okaba
"And the energy cores" -says Asmund
"And the alliance" -adds Honoria
"And the extra trade" -says Lyann
"And, and... your friends" -says Mako
"Yes, and my friends." -Okaba smiles as he gently leans over and kisses Mako's hand, then helps her up the platform as well

There's no need to be jealous. It's just our gentlemanly friend being a gentleman. No need to be jealous at all.

As we go into the ship, we find a harpy sitting on the deck on her pajamas, holding a honey flask with both hands, hoping for its last drops to fall into her open mouth.

"What are you doing awake, what are you doing with that jar, and where are Zoe and Stella?" -we sort of say, sort of sigh
"Welcome home!" -the petite harpy says with a smile, her face a happy mess of sweet cream and honey.

I think we need to set up projects and assignments that can be done by others and progress in the background.
Such as keeping the harpies out and either going to school or socializing with the kids at the Albion orphanage, getting them enrolled in school, and taking them dungeon-diving to grind levels.

I also think we should consider funding a scholarship so that we can assemble a research institute and staff it with gifted talent.

As for questions, how is construction of our rock-it ship yards?
What about construction of a super-dreadnaught for Miel's mobile capital? Could we begin drafting the plans now?
And what's up with the internal situation of Yellowleaves and the southern empire? What happened after we busted up their secret R&D base?
Whatever happened to the idea of arriving at their capital in full Imperial regalia to tell them that their tthey are being reintegrated with the Celestial Empire?

The ones in Eopolis are fully operative now. They can make a light cruiser in a couple of weeks and a large freighter or battleship in three months.

Chaos Crusher is still the flagship, though, and it took all the shipyards a year to make while they were working each on a section of it, so it looks like we wont be replacing it any time soon, though.
