Welcome to Banished Quest!
You take the role of a young mage labeled a criminal by his people and cast out into the wider world. In the last thread you explored a forgotten palace in the void and encountered a band of looters in a tomb.

It is currently the 23rd of Svarthi, in the year 936 NH.

Well, you're here. You might as well have some fun with this. Channeling vys you have the temperature in the room start steadily dropping as the Vatis works to erode the statue. At first they don't seem to notice, and you can hardly blame them. You're barely reducing the temperature by a degree at a time. Indeed, it's only when you start to use Fire magic to make it appear as though runes have begun fading into view on the walls of the chamber that they seem to notice.

The nobleman is first to comment. In a hushed whisper he ask his companion. “Are you seeing this?” You afford yourself a brief peek over the edge of the abyss to watch as he gestures to the walls.

The Vatis, seeming tired out by the effort of eroding the statue, merely grunts in response while continuing to work. Only when the nobleman shakes him by the shoulder does he finally cut the flow of vys, barking out a terse. “What?!” At the other man. He loses his attitude upon noticing the walls, frowning deeply. “Did this happen last time you were here?”

The noble shakes his head slowly, wrapping his robes around himself a little tighter. “No, no it didn't. Those symbols are giving off a lot of vys and I really don't like the look of them.” A pause. “Is it just me or is the room fucking freezing?” By this point, dew had started to accumulate on the pillars and on the surface of the statue. You've probably lowered the temperature a good twenty or thirty degrees at this point and it seems like it was cool in the chamber to begin with.

You wouldn't know. You have no skin with which to gauge temperature.

After a minute or so of waiting, during which you choose not to increase the brightness of the runes or lower the temperature further, the noble coughs uncomfortably. “Let's get this over with. Not long now until we should find the scepter.”
(1/4)
>>
The Vatis nods, reaching into a pocket on his robe and extracting a small locket. You detect a brief emission of vys, followed by a vast increase in the man's reserves. Then he tucks the locket back into his pocket and resumes his work with renewed vigor. You in turn increase the rate at which the temperature drops, and use Nature magic to whisper brief snatches of Old Samjan into their heads.

At first you start with single syllables, short words. Nothing overt. Then you get into more foreboding phrases. Warning them of vengeance, of their impending death, of the curse placed upon the tomb and the horrid creatures which slumber beneath. They do not heed your warnings, and so they must suffer for it.

Faces form briefly from the stone of the walls, their lips moving soundlessly in time with the whispers you force into their thoughts. Again, the nobleman is the one to notice but he seems struck dumb, speechless. He stairs in wordless horror as from the wall bleeds a formless creature, its face contorted in unimaginable pain. It's just then that the Vatis concludes his work, revealing the skeletal remains of some rich fool. More importantly, revealing a long staff wrought from Elaudian Steel and capped with the same material you found in such abundant supply in the palace.

The real center piece of the staff is a small metallic ball practically bursting with power, arcs of lightning shooting off at random only to be captured by the cage it sits within. The ball isn't obviously supported by anything, but rather floats free within the staff's head. You get the distinct impression that the entire thing is unstable, on the cusp of releasing a wave of destructive vys which will no doubt destroy the entire temple.

The Vatis is already snatching up the scepter, even as the noble struggles to warn his companion. It's then that you choose to spring your trap. Leaping from the abyss you assault their thoughts with a horrendous shriek, enjoying the panicked shout of the nobleman as stone figures spring fully formed from the walls, a dozen of the shuffling puppets moving to block off their root to the exit. The noble makes a snap decision, breaking out into a sprint towards the door, but you have an icy hand form from nothing to clutch his foot.

He falls flat on his face, kicking and screaming with wild abandon only to be freed by a burst of fire from his Vatis companion. They don't seem to have quite noticed you yet, so you position yourself inside the coffin and rise slowly from within, wreathed in fire and shards of ice.

The first thing the Vatis sees when he turns around is your ghostly form rising from what is supposed to be a grave, and his reaction is instinctual. He lets out a high pitched, girlish scream and sends a hasty bolt of flame soaring in your general direction. You barely need to apply any sort of effort at all to deflect the reckless assault, and it smashes into the ground with a burst of flame.

It's as you raise into the air and drift towards them, muttering into their thoughts promises of eternal torment, that twin runic arrays in the walls flare to life and release a veritable flood of the same model of spider constructs you encountered in the palace. They surge forward with wild abandon, the would-be looters quickly surrendering themselves to panic at the sight of the swarm.
(3/4)
>>
The Vatis and his nobleman cohort turn to flee with the spiders in quick pursuit, the noble screaming at the Vatis to drop the scepter, an order he seems staunchly against obeying. You watch from high above with a sort of passive detachment, the spiders paying you no mind as they skitter towards the darkened passageway towards which the looters flee. The noble reaches the exit first, and promptly slams into some sort of invisible barrier, his nose bent at an unseemly angle and sending blood dribbling down his chin.

The Vatis sees this and drops backwards, sliding to a stop and gracefully pivoting his weight to face the sea of spiders charging towards him. Thrusting forward an arm he lets out a blast of white hot plasma which bores a hole straight through the nearest construct, and through a dozen more behind it, but those constructs lost are but a minuscule fraction of the whole. It would seem that they're doomed.

>You should probably interfere. If you can just convince the Vatis to return the scepter the spiders will probably leave him alone.

You didn't really set out to kill the poor bastards, just give them a good scare. Fortunately there seems to be an obvious solution. If you just get the vatis to let go of the scepter, the spiders will probably leave him alone. You base this assumption on sparse evidence to say the least, but it seems like a logical assumption. What's the worst that could really happen if you're wrong, the deaths of two strangers?

Channeling your Vys, you will two icy hands into existence around the haft of the scepter. It requires an inordinate amount of vys expenditure but using a combination of Water magic and a Manipulation spell you manage to rip the scepter out of the vatis' hands. As expected the spiders seem to halt in mid-step, some of them following the scepter as it slowly drifts towards you. The nobleman has dragged himself to his feet and watches on in stunned horror as blood stains his clothing a darker shade of red.

You hadn't really planned much further than this, but the spiders aren't just going away. They're just waiting expectantly, though you're not sure for what. As the staff comes to rest in your illusory hands, only the vaguest sense of pressure carried back to you through your ghostly appendages, you start to wonder whether or not you ought to try and escape with the staff somehow, or just return it to the defaced statue from which the looters pried it.

(1/2)
>>
It's as you're pondering this dilemma that the Vatis falls to his knees, lifting his hands towards you as though begging on a street corner. “Forgive us, spirit, for we did not know that we trespassed!” You're pretty sure they were aware that grave robbing was a dick move, but whatever. You want to see where this is going. “Please, Great One, call off your minions and we will serve you wholeheartedly!”

>Alright, this guy is getting annoying. Drift back to the statue and place the scepter inside. Then 'vanish'.

You drift lower, towards the prostrate vatis and the nobleman hurrying to join his companion in bowing before you. {What can you offer me?} You ask, your thoughts thundering through their skulls so loudly that they wince almost simultaneously. {You, mere mortals, could not hope to provide me with some service that I could not acquire through other means. I may just as well kill you know, for you would do as much good dead as alive.}

You try to maintain that ancient dialect of Samjan you found written in that report you found in the palace, but it's difficult to manage your mental tone. They don't seem to notice either way, as after a brief delay the noble responds with unexpected vigor, a gleam in his eye. “We can journey beyond this tomb! You are trapped here, yes?” No, what does he think you are? Some sort of ancient evil? “Take us into your service and we can free you from your confinement!”

The vatis decides to make an offer of his own. “We are rich in gold and jewels, if you will allow us to retrieve our luggage we will offer it all to you, o Great Spirit! Merely say the word and we will fill your tomb with unimaginable wealth!”

The noble shoots his friend a vicious glare before turning his focus back on you. “Or we might sacrifice the blood of our men upon your tomb! Their vys might fuel your return to life and give you the power to break whatever spell binds you here!”

(1/2)
>>
So ready is he to kill off the men who no doubt ensured his survival on the trek across the Pa'vala that he draws a dagger from his waistband. “Say the word and I shall drag forth our guide and slit his throat, you need only order it so!”

Now it's the Vatis' turn to reproach the noble, though neither speaks to the other. You're not sure if they're competing against one another to win your favor or if they're just so desperate to escape with their lives that little things like 'planning' and 'negotiation' didn't occur to them at all. You drift closer still, the spiders scuttling forward in eager pursuit only to stop below you upon the realization that you're still out of reach.

It's clear that you could demand almost anything from these two, though how faithfully they'll obey your orders is questionable.

>Tell them to seek out your “descendants”, the noble family Abdul-Hakim, and serve their interest.
>Bid that they bring forth their wealth and lay offer it before your tomb.

>>43565951
When someone becomes a disciple they're expected to spend most of their time servicing the spirit to which they're a disciple. Usually this means, for spirits with very small followings like Mahana, actively recruiting new servants and disciples into the spirit's cult.

So I mean, if you want to risk some of your family members/your family retainers becoming soulless husk who function on the command of the disciples and Mahana alone, then go for it.
>>
>>43566042
Sure. Let's do it. Make Mahanna more powerful, increase out relationship with him, and get some powerful disciples pitching in with our family from time to time. Sounds perfect.

After a pause, more for dramatic effect than anything else really, you send your voice once more thundering through their thoughts. {You are useless to me.} The utterly horrified expressions which flash across their faces are truly priceless. The dejection of the nobleman. The desperation of the vatis. If only you could preserve the moment. {However, perhaps my descendants might find some use for you. Seek out the noble family of Abdul-Hakim and swear yourselves to their service.}

They practically fall over one another to agree, but you cut off their thanks and praise by once again invading the sanctity of their minds. {Know that should you shirk your duties to my kinsmen I will seek you out and consume your souls as Surya does the souls of the damned. Do not cross me, mortals.}

You wonder if you actually could 'consume' someone's soul? You know you can use other people's souls in rituals, but could there be any benefit to trying to absorb another's soul with your own? Perhaps, one day, you'll try an experiment in that vein. Until then you drift towards the statue of whatever ancient enchanter created this staff and sink into the ruined stone shell, careful to return the staff to its original resting place. Almost immediately the spider constructs retreat, vanishing into the portals humming on either side of the room.

The portals vanish as soon as the last of the constructs slips through, and the noblemen are left standing awe-struck in an otherwise empty tomb. Masking yourself via illusion, you slip up towards the ceiling to watch them as they drift cautiously towards the statue. The vatis is quick to summon stone from the surroundings and crudely patch the top of the tomb. Just for added effect, you reinforce his shoddy efforts and carve your own face into the statue's head.
(1/2)
>>
Seeing this, the vatis and his noble companion retreat towards the burial chamber's entrance. The noble in particular is cautious, pawing at air to make sure that he's not about to run into an invisible wall before hesitantly passing through. The vatis seems more concerned with just getting as far away from here as possible.

Once you're sure they're gone you slink towards the statue and fold your ethereal legs beneath yourself, channeling vys on a whim to see if you can't construct a shrine here for the cat. It seems like it would be a useful place to access on a whim, even if there is a massive source of corrupted vys directly below you. Actually, you wonder if that will have any effect on how many runes Mahana grants you?

You start to channel vys, and feel a force intervene. Suddenly you're willing stone blocks to pull themselves from the walls, forming a bridge across the abyss which joins with the wall at the very end of the chamber. There you erect a simple shrine in a classical octagonal style, with a domed ceiling and a motif of the sun rising over the dunes carved above the doorway. It reminds you of many ancient shrines you can find in Hiacian ruins.

Once completed you note just how... strange the air feels. Previously the room had seemed inordinately charged with vys. Not saturated, as some other places you've recently frequented, but simply particularly rich in vys. Now it felt somehow polluted. As though simply being here dirties you in some way.

Channeling Nature magic the reason for this strange sensation soon becomes clear. In a world cast in shades of green you now find sharp streaks of yellow cutting through the ambient vys, flowing into the shrine's doorway as if the tendrils of some great beast trying to rip the structure apart.

(2/3)
>>
You do not feel the typical throbbing headache you associate with the acquisition of new runes, nor does a brief mental review shed any light on new insights you might have gained. It is a disappointing, but not wholly unexpected, development. In a way you feel cheated. The fire spirit you met, Atma, seemed more than happy to consume the corrupted core of one of Fulvia's sisters. Why does Mahana find it so onerous?

Good for burninating things. That's not necessarily the same as eroding things, though.

I have a strong feeling that when you get down to the String level, the different schools of magic are pretty similar in effect. We already knew that Metal is good for manipulating the strings, and now we know that Fire can be used to similar effect, just as enchanting is all about manipulating the strings as well. The other 3 schools probably have strong applications in this vein as well.

Probably goes back to the point before magic was separated into the hard schools of "Fire, Water, Nature, Earth, Metal", mentioned during the Crown episode.

>>
>>43567392
And you're misunderstanding how enchanting works.
>>
>>43567423
How?
>>
>>43567402
It takes more to enchant something than memorizing what a rune looks like, you have to put it in a specific sequence, in the right place, interacting with another rune in the right way, which you can only do through either getting knowledge shoved into your skull (unreliable, word of god says so) or experimenting with how different runes interact with eachother.

Becoming a skilled enchanter from scratch would take many, many, many years. A tremendous timeskip would be necessary to do some of the shit that was done 1000 years ago, back when they had a huge foundation of practical knowledge, writings and teachers.

>>43567423
You know, you haven't exactly explained why a Good Boy Points system wouldn't work. You've only asserted that it wouldn't.

58 KB JPG
You drift towards the entrance to the shrine, but pause before touching the massive strands of corrupted vys drifting into the shrine from the black abyss below. Focusing on your image of Mahana, in all his scaly five-eyed glory, you try to contact the spirit from outside his shrine so as to avoid potentially corrupting your soul.

Your concentration is broken by a purr rumbling through your skull, and only moments later a tiger-striped tabby cat emerges from the shrine's doorway. Mahana sits upon the topmost step, licking his paw and running it across the top of his head to get rid of some unknown contaminant. He looks no different than the last time you saw him in this form, though you wonder if his eyes aren't glowing just slightly in the gloom of the burial chamber. {What, Mikhael, might I do for you this fine afternoon?}

He seems to be in a good mood, and you don't get the impression he's at all weakened in anyway. Then again corruption can be a subtle, and confusing thing. Some creatures seem to feed on it and grow in power while others wither and die. Careful to maintain a level tone, you explain your reason for calling the cat here. {I was curious about what it is your shrine is doing, drinking in corrupted vys. I was likewise curios why I have yet to receive any runes for its construction, as per our agreement.}

Mahana's voice slips into the space between your thoughts with a surprising gentleness, seeming almost a caress. {I believe I understand your confusion, dear friend. You see, the corruption which festers in this place is not natural. It is old, yes, but it is artificial. Caused by the True Death of a spirit deep beneath the surface. Its corpse lies there, rotting. In a way you may think of it as a poisoned well spreading plague.}

(1/2)
>>
>>43567571
>just because it seems hilarious
See this is the problem with the quest

Didn't people also think that saying they owned the cat was hilarious before it happened?
>>
You weren't aware that the death of a spirit, or rather this 'true death', could cause corruption. You thought it was caused by Delerium... but what if Delerium is the corpse of a spirit? You're in the midst of pondering this when Mahana once again intrudes. {Normally this would not be an issue. In fact, the presence of the corpse would be a boon, but a parasite has seized hold of what remains of my predecessor and now infects the land, reaching its tendrils throughout the compound and feeding on the deceased spirit's essence.}

A parasite? What sort of ungodly parasite feeds upon the corpses of spirits? {It is due to the presence of this parasite that I have deemed this location particularly unsuitable, and decided not to award you the usual bevy of runes. For you see, in building this shrine you've exposed me to potential infection. I believe that, in time, I might turn this into a useful source of power. Yet first I will be required to carefully excise this vile serpent. In order to do so I will destroy what remains of the corpse, and the parasite should die in turn.}

Curious that he doesn't seem particularly bitter towards you, or even the slightest upset. You would expect him to be indignant at your questioning of his decisions. Perhaps, now that he's not so weak, he no longer desperately seeks power at the expense of reason?

>Well, that's fair enough you suppose. You weren't aware of the parasite. Say your goodbyes and return to the palace.

Also, this isn't your quest, so in the end we'll just vote on shit and then I ask that you deal with the consequences with good grace and enjoy the ride, instead of bitching about other people having different opinions being "the problem" with this quest.

Or go shitpost in the IRC. Your posts literally contain nothing of value, and are just wasted space.

You bow low, preparing to say your goodbyes, but then a thought occurs to you. {Actually, Mahana. Before I take my leave I wanted to ask you a few other things. You see, I find myself here largely be accident. I was exploring a palace I discovered within the void and upon activating a runic array I was transported here. Rather, to a cremation chamber within this complex. The question I wish to pose is: do you have any idea why or how a palace was constructed in the void?}

The cat spirit pauses in its grooming, its head cocking to the side. {A palace inside the void? Is this a mortal construction, or a work of the divine? What else can you tell me about it?}

You're suddenly glad you decided to meditate in the palace, or else you'd be at a loss here. {I'm quite certain it is a mortal construction. You see, I meditated there upon the nature of the soul and magic, and I discovered something quite interesting. There are ropes of silver which bind the void together, much like the threads of gold which bind our own reality together. To me that implies that there is something beyond the void, some place no mortal has ever dared to tread. Anyway, I'm assured of the palace's mortal origins because inside the palace these silver ropes were intertwined with gold, while outside the palace this was not the case.}

Mahana's tail swishes languidly from side to side, his eyes slipping closed as if deep in thought. {I can only presume that what you discovered was the private realm of some powerful enchanter. How they could have managed such a feat remains a mystery, but if I was forced to guess I would posit that it was a lengthy and involved process. They probably used only their own vys, or their own soul, to establish a fabric that they were familiar with between these silver ropes you mention.}
(1/3)
>>
>>43568371
As much as I support the cat, having him inject his divine essence into us isn't going to end well.
>>
>>43568423
>goldy
Who
>>
The spirit opens his eyes, his voice more confident when next it drifts through your thoughts. {Perhaps it was a communal effort, or the work of one man alone. It would seem quite possible, almost simple given the proper knowledge of runes. For a rune you see need not be drawn on a medium necessarily, but can in fact be activated even if merely projected in mid-air. This artificial reality would likely be similar in some superficial ways to the realms of spirits, in that it would be overlaid on the void as a spirit's realm is overlaid upon reality.}

Mahana calms, his tail curling up around his feet. {As for why a mortal would construct this 'palace', I can only guess. Perhaps they merely wished to show off, to prove to others or themselves that they could. Perhaps they wished for a private retreat where they could escape from prying eyes. Perhaps it was a logistics center from which one man might appear to be in many places at once. I could not truly say.}

He hasn't really revealed anything you hadn't guessed for yourself, so far as the purpose for its construction is concerned, but it's interesting to note the palace's similarities to a spirit's realm. You hadn't realized that a spirit's realm was simply woven between the threads of your reality. You wonder if there are further levels to explore? What would happen if you attempted to construct something inside a spirit realm, or what if a spirit tried to establish their realm in the palace?

You once again prepare to depart, but once again find yourself distracted. {And about this parasite, how powerful is it? Could perhaps you and I together defeat this 'serpent', as you've termed it?}
(2/3)
>>
Mahana perks up, sitting a little taller. {Perhaps, but not in your current form. Incidentally I must digress to congratulate you. This is perhaps the longest I have ever seen a mortal maintain coherence and consciousness once separated from their physical form. Usually mortals are reduced to little else besides a shard of divinity without that protective housing you call a body.}

The cat dips his head, though you're not entirely sure of the gesture's significance. Is it a sign of respect? That would seem the most logical suggestion but it would seem quite out of character for a spirit as arrogant as Mahana. {To my original point, in your current form you are far too susceptible to corruption. Even with the markings you've engraved into the surface of your soul.} Does he mean your tattoos? Is that what they are? {Were you not divorced from physical form, defeating the parasite would seem a more realistic notion. For now it would be pure, reckless folly.}

Not entirely true. You can't finalize a rune without knowing its purpose. You also lack the necessary materials to take a rubbing.

Now that he mentions it, you have been away from your body for quite some time. It might be wise to return to Nazir and your companions. However, if you try to return the way you came you'll only find yourself trapped again in the void, with only one method of escape left you haven't tried. Adventurous and insane you might be, but you're still not terribly eager to sit down on a heavily enchanted throne in the middle of the void. It just seems like a bad idea in a general sense.

It's fortunate, then, that you negotiated an agreement with Mahana for the usage of his realm to speed travel. You don't really know where you are but you get the sense that you're in the Pa'vala, meaning you're much, much further from Nazir than Anthus is to El-Amin. Hopefully the travel time isn't proportionally lengthened, because it if its you'll be in Mahana's realm for days. You hope you're remembering correctly that distance in a spirit's realm is not set, but rather relative.

Your mind brushes against the cat's own, the vast and alien landscape of his consciousness only momentarily overwhelming. {Now that you've mentioned it, I think it's probably time that I return to my own body. Lest it start to rot without me in it. Would you mind dragging me into your realm, to speed travel? I'd rather that then travel through the void again.}

You get no response. You merely appear within what you might best describe as a fleshy hellscape. Before you rises a bridge wrought from twisted lengths of flesh and bone, the earth torn by great fissures wider and deeper than any canyon you've ever seen. In several places the bridges have collapsed, leaving naught but piles of gore where once they stood. You wonder if this is a result of the parasite, or a result of the Pa'vala?

File: Vengeful Spirit.jpg (205 KB, 750x1090)

To reach the top of the bridge you have to scale the side of some sort of machine crafted from the hollowed out bone of some massive beast. Upon reaching the top you find that you can see no farther elevated than you could on the ground. The grey storm clouds above have unleashed their fury ahead of you, and the rain falls so heavily that you can't see more than three hundred feet forward. Worryingly, wherever the rain falls steam seems to rise off the flesh as it slowly begins to melt away.

You've few options, save to start walking. Here, in Mahana's realm, your form has more weight. You cannot sore effortlessly through the air, and the chill in the air bites you to nonexistent bones. It's as if, in the absence of a physical body, Mahana has made your ghostly form physical. A curious sensation, to put it mildly.

You're only an hour into your march when you see figures ahead engaged in some great battle against what you might best describe as a horde of revenants. Their arms have been died red up to their severed elbows, streams of blood boiling away into the aether from any of a dozen wounds. Their throats are slit several times over, and many of them are pierced through the chest be swords of immense size. Their pale skin and emaciated frames, coupled with their white hair, remind you vaguely of an image you once saw in a mirror, of yourself enslaved by the void.

The figures engaging them in combat are heavily armored. One wears black filled with innumerable holes, each one spilling an angry red light, while the other wears brilliant gold accented by a ruff of thin crystals growing from underneath his pauldron and draping down his back like some sort of cape. Both wield poleaxes with no small skill, cutting down two or three of their attackers with every swipe. You don't think they've spotted you, so you could just slip away, but something feels off about these two.

Disciplefags BTFO
>>
<Tpp> when did the cat get disciples?
<Soma_QM> And fairly recently, TPP. Half of this encounter is to show that Mik won't be "top dog" anymore if he were to become a desciple, as he would've been.
<Soma_QM> Thus disincentivising becoming a disciple and digging the salt mine of pro-disciple folks deeper.
>>
>>43570984
Fuck.
I misspelled disciple.
>>
>>43570984
>our ex got new bfs
kill them both and pledge our love
>>
>>43570984
What a shame.
>>
>>43570984
Wow fuck him then.

We'll experiment on our soul until we can make our own disciples.
>>
>people getting surprised when the cat found new goyim to sucker into choking on his dick when Mik wouldn't put out
I mean, what did you expect?
>>
>>43570984
at least we still have travel visa.
>>
Reminder that disciples are basically useful idiots who took the power bait in exchange for eternal slavery
>>
>>43571086
This.

We'll make our own spirit realm, with blackjack, and hookers.
>>
We should find a way to make catbro our bitch and then have him take the form of a catgirl, and you all know what happens next
>>
>>43571196
We have tea and crumpets with him?
>>
>>43571215
Exactly~
>>
>>43570984
Nah it just makes it so that if we were to ever become his disciple we're going to negotiate it in a way that we're above/removed from the hierarchy of mahannas disciples.

We sure as hell ain't takin orders from some lil bitch who sucks cat dick.
>>
>>43571196
We experiment on him to re-discover the lost art of binding spirits to shit?
>>
>>43571192
We recently found out that this is possible too.
>>
>>43571233
>Be Disciple
>Not suck cat dick
Pick one
>>
>>43571236
>the lost art of binding spirits to shit?
We should visit Pani's temple for that, the spirit is bound there.
>>
>>43571236
The only thing we're binding him to is our dick
>>
>>43571233
>denial
>>
Why become a disciple when we can have disciples? The cat included
>>
>>43571276
>Wanting penis barbs
>>
>>43571292
Because that's not possible and you are also a gay fag.
>>
>>43571293
You know that is not what i meant but now that i think about it, couldn't we gain cat ears and a tail?
>>
>>43571255
>implying we should fuk with the spirit that had one of the strongest vatis in the world in his employ
no ty
>>
>>43571301
you misspelled Fish.
>>
>>43571309
thanks m8
>>
>>43571307
We should only look what runes are there and try learning them somehow.
>>
>>43571301
It is 100% possible, we just don't know how yet.
>>
>>43571315
no problem, it's a common mistake.

Once we ascend to godhood we shall have the power to obtain that which we desire the most.

You bypass the armored figures and their hordes of tortured enemies in favor of continuing your walk across the fleshy bridge. Only a few minutes after your encounter with the armored figures and their enemies the terrain shifts suddenly, the clouds falling away to reveal an endless stretch of night sky. Where once the chasms which split the earth had cut across in seemingly random, unpredictable patterns now they assembled themselves into clean lines, forming a sort of maze between the winding walkways that fill the landscape.

Ahead of you lies a ball of fire larger than any you've ever seen. Its surface boils, sending off massive jets of flame which seem to lash against the surface you walk across, washing harmlessly across the stone. At the top of the ball of flame is a black globe of immense size, though dwarfed by the fire itself, with a single hole in the center giving it the appearance of a baleful eye staring down at the world.

For a moment, you think you stare into the eye of Surya himself, and the god stares back.

Below you, inside the maze, dark water forms a shallow pool filled with all manner of sea life. Strange fish swimming across the surface and lichen clinging to the side of the stone platforms which form the maze walls. You stop for a moment to marvel at the wonder of it all, but find that before long you feet start to carry you forward of their own volition. You drift without really giving your destination any constant thought, shuffling forward with your eyes focused firmly upon the ground in front of you and the water below. Even as waves of heat wash over you, threatening to strip the shell of vys from your soul and lay you bear before a ravenous god.

>>
You feel yourself approaching your destination, and the ground around you warps to reflect this. The lichen which crawls up the walls mutates, growing bulbous, fleshy appendages and crawling further and further towards the platform. Soon you walk across a bed of warped meat not unlike the spirit realm within the Pa'vala, great strings of fat and muscle bubbling up from between the cracks in the ground.

Then you wake up. Standing, in so far as a formless being of vys can stand, by yourself in the middle of the twisted lands you inadvertently created in the midst of the desert to the east of Nazir. You drift upwards, shell shocked, and only after you've traveled a mile or more do you realize that night has long since fallen. You have been gone from your body nearly an entire day.

Darzi is going to be livid if you've allowed your physical form to die in the absence of your soul.
