The land of Aeons, a beautiful land full of mystery, magic and adventure. A place were great heroes are at a constant battle with the forces of evil, great monsters and demons alike. Wizards and Clerics are common place, along with creatures such as ogres and dragons. A land where adventurers travel in search of wealth, fame and power.
Kings and queens, under the protection of these well payed and respected men and woman rule with absolute authority, bringing glory to their allies and death to their enemies. It is truly a wonderful and dangerous place, and to be a adventurer in these times would truly be a life of freedom and prosperity.
Ah, what a dream it would be...
...Ah well, enough day dreaming, that cow won't milk itself.
>>

It's been a few months since your father had passed, leaving you in charge of the family farm. Of course, it's rather run down and the only animals you have is a single cow and a mule, Eustice. The only thing thats been growing has been onions and grass, and even that is barely enough to feed you. Though at the least you have a place to sleep at night without the threat of wolves or bandits.
The day itself was an average, the signs of the summer starting to show as the sun blazed overhead, so of course it was a surprise when you heard a knock on your door and there was a knight, dressed in full armor standing behind it. He had the emblem of the king and what seemed to be a a satchel full of scrolls.
Quickly, he pulls out one of the scrolls, opens it up and coughs.
"Hello sir, I apologize for the inconvenience, however I come here in the name of our king.
First, for future reference, what is your name?"

One final question. Would you rather leave this home, forfeit your land to the king and be paid for the trouble, or would you rather keep this land and work under the king as a ready and able'd soldier at his whim, or pay the king a large sum of gold to keep this land for a few more years?"

You manage to gather up most necessities. For a moment, you get the urge to stab the guard, but realize that you would probably be broken rather quickly. And so, you pack your things, set them onto your mule and are ready for travel, leaving your old family home.

As you think of where to go, you plan to travel to the city of Aldres. Perhaps you can find work, or at least shelter there, safer then anything out here. The guard, who seemed to have painted the sign of the king over the home's walls, seems to wander in your direction for a moment, before turning away towards the direction of another home, leaving you to continue north. You know it may take at least 2 days travel, 3 if you take your time. After at least a few hours walk down the main road, you can already see the sun beginning to set. Your still in a rather open area, with only a few trees and some large forests far in front of you.

You scan your surroundings. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of shelter, though a bit farther ahead of you, off the main road, you do see a cave, of sorts. Theres a hole, and it seems to lead down, into a small grassy hill.

You think over your options. Of course you can't trust random lights at night. As old pop used to say "No chasing lights at night. That's how you die."
Course, staying here isn't an option either, so perhaps its best to head to the hill. After all, a farmer should stay in his environment.
You walk over to the hill, getting a much better look. It seems to be rather large, though still only a bit above your head. Looking into the hole, it seems to lead down into the hill side in a slope. Its very dark, but it doesn't seem to go down too far.

Finally, the cave illuminates, showing the dirt and mold walls, worms and insects crawling around. It goes quite a bit down, where it flattens out and ends. It seems it would make a rather nice place to stay. Only problem seems to be the wild dog that seems to be sleeping there. You swing down, wacking the dog away to the floor, digging your hoe into it and leaving it whimpering and laying on the floor. Finishing it off to stop its suffering is simple enough. Finally, the dog is down. Exausted, you drop the hoe. It is late at night, and the only sound out is that of crickets. Bury it, don't want other animals getting sick eating it.
>>

Cook it and then put the cooked meat out as bait to possibly get some REAL dinner.

You grab the dog by the legs, dragging it slowly back out, and throwing it ourside the cave, leaving a small trail of blood. Hopefully, this won't attract more predators to the cave. Digging a shallow grave, you push the poor creature in. At worst, they'll try and dig it up, and then you might have something better to eat...if it's not too big. Tired and worn from the long day, you go back into the cave. You think about all that's happened. Lost your home, fought off and killed a dog. Pop never prepared you for this, damn it.

You start a small fire, the warmth being nice in the cool of the night. Staying up for a few minutes, keeping an eye out for any unwanted guests, weapon in hand, you slowly find yourself drifting off into sleep, your eyes closing. You need the rest, for the rest of the trip. Your mule sleeps next to you, the smell hardly seeming worse then that of the dog. Feeling your gold, and with dreams of a better future, this day ends for Joe the Farmer.

(And I think that may be where we stop for now, looking at the time. Seems a fitting place to hold off. That was alot of fun, got to say. Probably going to continue round next day, or after, round same time?)

Get a twitter, mate. Good quest so far. Try to put a little bit more detail into your updates, but go for personal preference. I see potential with this.
