Age: 732

Location: Planet Vegeta

Information: Daikon has been charged by King Vegeta to lead a team into the unknown reaches of space and establish a Saiyan Empire with the end goal of returning to stop Frieza once and for all. After gaining the consent of his team, Daikon has also recruited Bardock and his crew to join in the mission.
>>
Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place shortly after the war against the Tuffles, as the Saiyans look for more foes to battle in the absence of their old enemies.

Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.

Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)

During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.

If a 100 is rolled, it is considered a crit success (unless 100 was the number you had to match).

If a 1 is rolled, it is a crit failure, regardless of whether or not the other two rolls are high enough to succeed.

If, during a battle, players want to attempt a writein action, that is allowed, but I am the one who will assign the number to it, so use caution

You're a young male Saiyan who fought in the war with the Tuffles. You are an average fighter for now, but have the potential of one of the greatest warrior races to roam the universe flowing through your veins. There is no limit to what you can accomplish through blood, sweat, and tears.

Bardock disappears from the room, and Rugula steps in, shaking her head and a disappointed manner.

"You're not nearly as dead as I was expecting," she teases.

You watch her drop into a combat stance, removing her scouter and tossing it aside.

"Come on, get up," she instructs. "We're going to spar."

"Why?" you ask, getting up and getting into a fighting stance.

"Because I don't want a weakling leading us," she answers. "So, if you're going to be in charge, you're going to have to get strong enough for us to follow your orders."

You know Rugula is a fair bit stronger than you. Not as much as Bardock, but still considerably. Still, you've beaten her multiple times before. This should be doable.

You decide to start in a defensive strategy. You're still a bit hurt from your battle with Bardock, so you don't want to leave yourself overly vulnerable to taking further damage.

Rugula is glad to make the first move, though you notice she makes her attack less direct than normal.

She rushes at you head on, then leaps above your head, landing behind you and kicking at the back of your neck. You spin, ducking out of the way and grabbing her by the ankle.

You hold your palm toward her and fire an energy blast into her chest, pushing her back and knocking her off of her feet.

She smirks, picking herself back up and taking to the air.

"Good," she says. "After your poor performance against Bardock, I thought you'd lost your touch, but maybe you aren't totally hopeless."

She gathers energy into her palms and begins raining blasts down on you.

>A. Dodge (63)

>B. Dodge and fire a blast at her (85)

>C. Fire a Mouth Blast through her attacks. You'll probably take some damage doing this, but the attack should be able to cut through hers (74)

>D. Explosive Wave. This will take energy, and it won't damage her, but it should stop her blasts (47)

Is it possible to learn to store away energy? Like, say naturally our power level is 1,000, but over time we can accommodate and stash away another 200, which take a turn to release and is only really good for an hour or so.

You dodge every blast she throws your way, speeding across the room and narrowly escaping the painful sensation of being struck by a ball of energy.

Rugula quickly realizes the continuous energy attacks won't stop you, and instead rushes toward you.

You fly up as she charges, causing her to pass right beneath you, but, when you kick down at her, she flips over, grabs your ankle, spins, and throws you to the ground.

You crash on your back, and look up to see an energy wave rocketing toward you. You backflip to your feet and avoid the blast, but see Rugula charging down toward you.

You won't be able to dodge in time.

You open your mouth, preparing to unleash a blast of energy, but Rugula realizes what you're about to do, and fires an energy blast right into your face, knocking you onto your back and leaving you vulnerable.

She is on you at once, stomping on your gut then taking a step back and firing blasts repeatedly onto various parts of your body.

You're in great pain, but you can tell that she isn't actually trying to kill you this time, so that's at least some good news.

Still, she doesn't let up, and continues to bombard your body with a barrage of blasts.

You don't think you damaged her very badly, but this gives you the opportunity to get to your feet, then quickly leap into the air to dodge one of her blasts.

Rugula picks herself back up and chases after you, and the two of you trade punches before she knocks you back, gathering her energy and firing a wave at you.

You open your mouth wide and fire a blast of energy as she unleashes her own, the two blasts colliding with a flash halfway between you.

Your mouth blast is more powerful than your normal energy wave, making it a slightly more even struggle, but Rugula has you beaten in terms of power level, and begins to push your blast back toward you.

You're going to have to give it everything you've got if you want to win this struggle.

Based on the way Rugula started the battle i dont think this is the match for leadership. She wants to beat us down so we can get back up stronger like we did to her 3 damn times. Plus we were already hurt from fighting Bardock. That makes this not a fair fight in her mind. Once we're back on par with her strength is when she will actually challenge us for team leadership.

But, somehow you find the strength to continue fighting, and slowly, your blast begins making its way back toward her. She grits her teeth and continues to struggle, but you simply overpower her in the end.

Your blast makes its way to her, and she lets out a yell as her own blast explodes, pushing her back and letting your blast strike her full-force, pushing her across the room and slamming her against the far wall.

You don't let up, continuing to pour energy into your attack.

You lost a lot of energy in the struggle, but you put the rest of what you had into your attack, keeping Rugula pinned against the wall and blasting her until you're out of energy.

Finally, you fall to the ground below, struggling to catch your breath and slowly getting back to your feet. You look across the room and spot Rugula dropping to the floor, looking really hurt but nonetheless able to keep on going.

She looks over at you and smirks.

"I'm impressed someone as weak as you could manage that," she comments, and you think you detect some teasing in her voice. "But you're not winning this match."

She starts toward you, and you're all but certain that you're about to receive a major beating.

Still, you've turned more hopeless situations around before. Maybe you can still win this battle.

If you're going to lose, you're going down swinging.

You rush toward Rugula as fast as you can, pulling back your left fist and throwing a punch as soon as you reach her.

She leaps above your punch and kicks downward, but you flip over and manage to block the kick. Still, the force of it slams you painfully on your back, and when she lands and grabs you by the leg, you can't do much to fight back.

She pulls you close and stomps through the guard you've made with your hands, kicking you in the face and knocking you out cold.

You wake up sometime later in a healing tank, spotting Malaka waiting outside for you.

The tank opens, and Malaka hands you your armor as you step out.

"Your team takes its training very seriously," he comments, handing you your scouter once you've put your armor back on. "You and Rugula are in these tanks more than just about anybody."

You reattach your scouter and run a quick scan of your power level, finding that you've made it to 1165.

"I'm not sure what kind of training the two of you were doing, but Rugula needed a little dip in the tank herself when she brought you here," he comments. "She's fully recovered, and your teammate Soko wanted me to let you know that someone named Kamatsuna was looking for you. Apparently, she'll be stopping by your quarters later."

You thank Malaka for fixing you up.

"It's my job," he says. "But please try not to keep injuring yourself. Getting stronger won't do you much good if you're spending all of your time in the healing tank."

You leave the medical center and make your way back toward your own quarters, opening the door to find Kamatsuna waiting for you.

"Hello," she greets as you shut the door behind yourself.

She motions for you to deactivate your scouter, and you do so.

"King Vegeta sent me," she explains. "I've been instructed to accompany you on your mission as your chief science expert. I've also been charged with telling you how we're going to make our escape."

You tell her that you're listening, and Kamatsuna explains the plan.

"The most important thing is that we make sure we build this empire as far away from Frieza as possible," she reminds you. "From what we understand, Frieza controls a large section of the galaxy, but not all of it. The problem is, we Saiyans don't know much about the layout of the galaxy. To get that kind of information, we'd have to break into the control tower and download their maps to our pod's computers. That's going to mean fighting Frieza's soldiers, but King Vegeta will make sure the commander isn't there during our attack."

"Once we've made our escape, King Vegeta is going to send Bardock and his team after us, supposedly to hunt us down," she continues. "Once they arrive, we'll have all of our pods destroyed to make Frieza think they died hunting us. Then we can get to work."

"We make our move tomorrow," she concludes.

She heads for the door. "Have your team attack the control tower at noon. King Vegeta will make sure the commander is absent, but you and your team will still have to deal with Frieza's soldiers."

Rugula frowns, but doesn't comment further.

You motion for everyone to deactivate their scouters before removing your own and following your own advice. You wait for everyone else to do as instructed before explaining the plan.

Rugula, Sabi, and even Soko look pretty excited by the prospect of busting into Frieza's control tower and killing his men. Azu looks nervous, but you doubt that will really amount to anything.

You then explain how Bardock and his crew will be joining you, and that Kamatsuna will attempt to get blueprints for healing tanks before joining you all.

"Pretty well thought out," Soko admits. "Might actually work, at least as long as we can deal with Frieza's flunkies without getting ourselves killed."

"Shouldn't be too hard, at least if we can catch a few of them off-guard," Rugula chimes in. "It seems like most of the men Frieza left here were pretty weak, with a few exceptions."

"So what, we'll sneak into the tower?" Sabi asks.

"That could take more time than we have," Azu says. "It might be better to just blast our way in, even if we lose surprise. That way we can still be in and out before the commander gets back."

"Alright then, we'll sneak in and take out their soldiers," Rugula says.

"What about their scouters?" Azu asks.

"Hopefully they'll just think we're some of their own," Rugula replies. "If not, we'll have to fight, but at least this way we'll have a chance of getting in without making a scene."

Azu sighs. "Alright."

You tell everyone else to spend the night here so that you can all head out together the next morning for the mission.

Azu seems oddly okay with this, but none of the others look particularly thrilled, especially Rugula, who looks ready to punch you for your suggestion before taking a second to realize the context.

Everyone spread out throughout your living space, taking different areas to use for the night. Soko and Sabi put as much space between each other as possible, while Rugula tries to avoid everyone altogether. Ultimately, she settles for a spot further away from you. Azu just looks for an available spot and plops down.

The next morning, you wake up and everyone gathers. Together, you all head for the control tower, which stands high above anything else in the city, even King Vegeta's palace.

Everyone quickly gets behind the workers, and the guards shout, demanding to know what's happening.

But, it's too late, and you and your team kill the aliens sitting at the computers, save the Staff Officer and one other.

The guards yell, rushing your way, and the door opens, letting in the guard right outside of it.

The two guards in the room are armed with blasters, and all three are wearing scouters.

You hold our your hands, firing blasts at the faces of your foes. Each blast hits its mark, and you manage to destroy every scouter in the room, while also knocking two of the guards right off of their feet.

Your team springs into action, with Rugula swooping in and crushing the windpipe of one guard before dodging blaster-fire from the other.

Soko hits the immobilized soldier with a barrage of energy blasts, wounding him badly before Sabi finishes him off.

Azu knocks the other off his feet with a well-placed energy wave, and you're able to finish it off with an attack of your own.

"What the hell are you Saiyans doing?" the staff officer demands. "Lord Frieza will hear of this!"

You finish the Staff Officer with a single energy blast that puts a hole right through his chest.

As he collapses, you look over to see Rugula standing beside the one surviving alien.

"Now you're going to transfer the maps to our pods or you're going to join your friends," she tells him.

"Okay, okay!" the alien shouts in a frightened tone, getting to work.

He frantically types at his keyboard for a few moments, then looks up at her.

"Okay, it's done."

You tell the alien that you want a disk copy of the maps as well.

"Alright, fine!" he says, setting to work.

Soon, he hands you a disk. You activate your scouter and confirm that Kamatsuna has received the information she needed.

"Yes, we can discuss things when you arrive," she tells you.

You take the disk, then give Rugula permission to kill him. She obliges and kills him with a chop to the neck.

The five of you blast your way out and fly toward the spot where Kamatsuna is waiting with all of your pods.

You spot her and land in front of her.

"I checked the maps," she tells you. "We have two choices. If we go North, we can be out of Frieza's territory in about two months. However, the area to the North of Frieza's territory is very small, and he'll probably expand there before too long. We could go to the South and cut through the territory of some people called Cooler and King Cold. It would take two years, but we'd have plenty of room to expand and Frieza may never reach that place."

You tell her that you want to take the Southern route.

Kamatsuna nods. "That would have been my choice as well. Now let's go, they'll figure out what's going on before long."

Everyone climbs into their pods, blasting off into the sky and far away from Planet Vegeta at rapid speed.

You watch the planet disappear from view as you speed through space on toward the unknown.

You contact Azu, and ask if she's alright. Specifically, you ask about any misgivings she might have.

"I'm just worried," she tells you. "I don't like leaving our home behind like this, and I'm still not sure if we'll ever be strong enough to beat Frieza."

"We'll definitely be back," you promise. "And when we return, we'll have an army at our back. We'll free the others from that pink bastard."

When Azu speaks again, she sounds a little less nervous. "Thank you. I think I feel a little better now."

You start by contacting Kamatsuna and asking what blueprints she managed to grab.

"I was able to get the healing tank blueprints like you wanted," she informs you. "I was also able to get some information about these pods. They do have trackers in them, but I think I might be able to disable them once we land."

"In the meantime, we shouldn't say anything important over the scouters until I can set them to different channels," she warns. "Frieza's people might be listening in on them."

You end the transmission and contact Soko.

"Hey man, what's up?" he asks.

You ask how he feels about the mission.

"To tell you the truth, I'm still not sure we can pull it off," he admits. "But I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do out here. I mean, think about it, Daikon, our own empire. We can be kings just like Vegeta."

"We've come a long way since we were kids in the village," you tell him.

"We sure have," he agrees.
