Location: Planet Afhan

Information: Daikon has begun taking steps to secure his rule and begin expansion, sending his team out in pods to scour space for suitable planets to conquer. However, there have been some problems. Bardock has been badly wounded in training, and a Galactic Patrolman was sent to the planet to fight the Saiyans. However, he was quickly defeated, and rule over the planet seems secure.

Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place shortly after the war against the Tuffles, as the Saiyans look for more foes to battle in the absence of their old enemies.

Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.

Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)

During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.

If a 100 is rolled, it is considered a crit success (unless 100 was the number you had to match).

If a 1 is rolled, it is a crit failure, regardless of whether or not the other two rolls are high enough to succeed.

If, during a battle, players want to attempt a writein action, that is allowed, but I am the one who will assign the number to it, so use caution

You're a young male Saiyan who fought in the war with the Tuffles. You are an average fighter for now, but have the potential of one of the greatest warrior races to roam the universe flowing through your veins. There is no limit to what you can accomplish through blood, sweat, and tears.

One week ago, you sent three of your teammates out into space to search for planets to conquer.

In that time, Bardock and his crew have made full recoveries, with Bardock himself once again surpassing you with a power level of 3000. Rugula and Alpha have stepped up their efforts to destroy any resistance remaining, with Rugula sending her new Heran fighters on missions in order to test their loyalty. A few, predictably, did not obey commands that required fighting their own people, and were executed.

You stand on the bridge, waiting as Kamatsuna looks over reports your team have sent back from their scouting.

"Soko went South," she reminds you. "Apparently he's found a world that's primitive but has a good amount of resources. Power levels are varied, but the largest he's picked up so far is only at 1500."

"Alpha won't be happy with such a weak opposition," Rugula tells you. "Maybe we should wait to head there until we've given them a fight."

"Azu went west," Kamatsuna continues. "She's done some looking around, and apparently there's some people there with Heran Blood."

Rugula looks thoughtful. "I wonder how they compare to the ones here."

"Sabi travelled North," Kamatsuna says. "We lost contact with him a few hours ago. His radio's gone to static, and he isn't responding to attempts to raise him on his scouter."

Rugula raises an eyebrow. "Sabi never struck me as the type to try a stealth approach. Sounds to me like he's in trouble."

>A. You think she's right, and you want to set a course to Sabi's last known location

"Alright," Rugula tells you. "I'll have our forces ready as quickly as possible."

She exits the room, contacting Bardock's crew via scouter and grabbing the first few Zillians she sees.

Kamatsuna, meanwhile, orders her engineers to prepare the ship for launch while she attempts to contact Sabi. You can tell from the faint look of frustration on her face that he isn't having any luck.

"Same here, just let me save the coordinates for the planet I found on the ship computer, and I'll be on my way," Soko tells you.

You instruct them to get there as soon as possible, then end the transmission and do what you can to help get the ship prepped for launch.

Soon, everyone who's coming is on the ship, and you take off, heading in the direction where Sabi's signal vanished.

For the next several days, Kamatsuna periodically attempts to contact Sabi via scouter, but has the same lack of luck as before.

Nobody really knows what to expect as the ship travels through space, but the Saiyans and Zillians alike are prepared for any opponent they might encounter.

However, Rugula confides in you that she isn't sure what use the Herans will be.

"They've gotten stronger since they started working for me, but they've never had to face anything stronger than a normal Afhanian or occasional rogue part-Heran," Rugula tells you. "I don't know how well they'll perform here."

You assure her that you'll only use the Herans if you have to.

Rugula seems satisfied with that answer, and even gives a little chuckle. "Whatever it is out there, it's probably nothing to worry about. Sabi was probably caught off-guard. There's more than one of us, and we're a lot stronger than he is."

"Still, him vanishing with no warning is concerning," Toma comments as he and Bardock step onto the bridge. "Did he even put up a fight?"

"We'll find out what happened soon enough," Kamatsuna announces. "We're coming up on his last known location."

You figure it's probably worth pointing out, and mention it to Kamatsuna.

The scientist looks over to see what you're referring to, and frowns. "Hmm, Sabi didn't say anything about that before we lost contact."

Your scouter suddenly starts going nuts, alerting you to two power levels of roughly 800 heading right toward the ship.

Kamatsuna takes a step back, swearing to herself.

You look out and see missiles coming right at your ship from whatever that structure on the moon is.

"Everybody, brace for impact!" Kamatsuna shouts.

The missiles strike the ship seconds later, not completely destroying it, but causing significant damage and causing the engineers to lose control over many of the controls. The lights begin flashing, and Kamatsuna takes manual controls, trying to steers the ship as it breaks the planet's atmosphere and begins plummeting toward the surface.

>>43880559

You blast a hole in the ship, telling the other Saiyans to follow you as you fly out of it.

The four of you move beneath the ship and push against it, doing all you can to slow it down. The ship still moves fast toward ground, but with the four of you combining your power, you are able to slow it.

When the ship hits the ground, it's badly damaged, but you're confident that it can be repaired.

Still, when Kamatsuna emerges from the ship, she looks ready to tear someone's head off. Gine, the Zillians, and most of the Herans emerge soon after, displaying emotions ranging from fear and confusion to irritation and anger.

"Well, I'd say that's one mystery solved," Bardock comments. "Looks like Sabi got shot down when he reaches this planet."

"Could he have survived a crash?" Toma asks.

"Probably," Rugula vouches for your comrade. "But he probably wasn't in good shape, either."

"His scouter's still activate," Kamatsuna adds. "He's just not responding. If the crash didn't break his scouter, he's probably alive."

"Well, let's see if we can't find him," Rugula says, activating her scouter and taking a little look around.

You activate your own and do the same. Most of the powers you pick up are rather unimpressive, but there are a significant amount of powers that are rather high, high enough to potentially pose a threat even to someone as strong as you or Bardock.

"Power level of 2000 heading right for us," Rugula informs you.

You look South, and your scouter confirms what Rugula's told you. Something is fast approaching.

"Have everyone hide in the ship and surrounding areas," you instruct the nearest Saiyans. "We'll ambush whatever this is when the time comes."

The Saiyans begin relaying orders, and your forces begin to hide as the approaching power grows closer.

Most of them are hidden by the time it arrives, but a few, including yourself, are still in the open.

The thing is clearly not alive. It's some sort of colossal machine that towers over the nearby trees. It's round in shape, basically a giant ball rolling toward you. When it stops, however, lights begin to glow all over its body, and dozens of metallic tentacles emerge from it.

Several of the tendrils begin reaching for you and the few Zillians that are out in the open with you.

You move quickly, your superior power giving you the speed needed to avoid each tendril as it comes your way.

The Zillians are not so lucky, and they are quickly wrapped up in the tendrils, which then proceed to electrocute them. The Zillians growl and scream in pain, ceasing any struggles they were making to escape.

The tendrils retract, and the Zillians are put inside of the spherical machine.

More tendrils come for you, but you move out of the way and fire an energy blast toward the machine, striking it and causing it to quickly roll back.

The tendrils retract almost immediately, and the ball begins pushing against your blast, though it's clearly fighting a losing battle and is slowly pushed back.

You shout for Bardock to come and assist you.

He comes flying from the ship, and asks what you want him to do. You simply instruct him to keep the machine in place for you while you do something.

"If you say so," he replies before firing his own energy wave at the robot.

You speed over to the machine, flying above it and channeling your energy into your foot. Dropping down, you deliver a kick with enough force to crack the machine open like an egg, and as you make the strike you shout "BARDOCK BUSTER!"

"That's not funny!" Bardock tells you indignantly.

You tell him you'll change the name, then frown as your scouter alerts you to more than a dozen power levels right on top of you.

A dozen small aircraft streak through the sky above. They're too small to have anyone in them, and they move in a v-formation that matches the shape of each aircraft.

Their powers are at 1000 each.

Two large machines approach on foot, each one moving on four legs at massive speed. They're about as large as the last machine you destroyed, though these ones look more combat-ready, with cannons mounted on their backs preparing to fire.

Their powers are 2500 each.

"All forces, attack!" you demand. "Stay evasive and take out those fighters!"

The Zillians begin pouring from the ship, taking to the air and making their way toward the fighters.

The fighters don't shoot projectiles, instead, they release a cloud of something onto the ground below. The Zillians rush through it and begin striking the fighters, making short work of them with the help of the Saiyans.

You fire a blast of energy at the charging machines, only to watch it bounce off some sort of forcefield. The machines return fire, shooting powerful projectiles that knock you to the ground.

Electricity courses through your body, and you find yourself writhing on the ground for several seconds before you're able to force yourself to stand.

You feel a bit on the tired side, but aren't about to give up just yet. Bardock fires a blast of energy that slows a machine, hitting the forcefield with enough power to make the massive mechanical monster shake.

Zillians begin rushing at the machines, leaping at them and being thrown back by the forcefields. A few manage to fire energy attacks, but to no effect. Alpha fires shots of energy from his spear, but has no more luck than anybody else.

You watch the machine kick a Zillian into the distant trees, where he vanishes. It then opens its mouth and unleashes a small group of tiny orbs that plop to the ground and begin rolling toward nearby Zillians.

The orbs sprout arms and legs, climbing up the bodies of your soldiers and stabbing into the with small syringes.

The Zillians that are stabbed collapse.

You jump into the air and race toward the nearest machine, avoiding projectiles and closing in at rapid pace as you channel the energy into your leg once again.

You hit the forcefield with a devastating kick, actually managing to shatter it and shake the machine with its power.

You're riddled with projectiles seconds later, however, and fall to the ground, screaming in pain. Looking up, you see a wave of energy shoot over your head and strike the machine in its mouth, causing several explosions that culminate in the head falling from the machine.

The guns continue firing, but their aim is way off, allowing the Saiyans to move in and blast at it.

The machine collapses, and you barely manage to get out of the way in time before it does.

You watch the others attack the final machine, and see Bardock and Toma finally break through the forcefield.

Zillians pile onto the remaining machine, which soon begins to collapse under the weight.

You feel yourself becoming more and more drowsy, and suspect the cloud the fighter released to be the cause.

He's more of a "why shoot lasers when I can tackle you" kind of guy.

We should work on developing an Atomic Tackle

This move managed to be cool as shit and also absolutely worthless at the same time in all the dbz fighting games
>>
>>43883525
Geez Salza your mom let you have FIVE whole finger beams?
>>
>>43883576
Didn't Frieza's Finger Beam instantly knock you down in one of the games?
>>
>>43883606
I like the golden frieza finger beam super in Xenoverse. It's all of pretty damn worthless when you have shit like Spirit Bomb spam, but it's so cool to have on a Frieza Clansman.
>>
>>43883606
I wouldn't be surprised if that were true

You warn everyone to get away from the cloud, then let out a yell, unleashing a powerful gust of energy that blows the cloud away.

You fall to your knees, exhausted between the fight and exposure to whatever the gas was. Rugula comes to your side, not looking too much better herself.

"Are you alright?" she asks.

If you didn't know any better, you'd think she was concerned.

>A. You'll be alright

>B. Ask how she' holding up

You assure her that you're alright, then ask how she's hanging in there.

"I feel like I need a nap, but otherwise fine," she tells you.

You order everyone to head for the woods, and Rugula grumbles before grabbing your arm and pulling you to your feet.

"Come on," she says in an annoyed tone, letting you lean on her as she walks you to the woods.

You find the Zillian who was thrown there before alive and well, and that most of your people survived the battle with the machines.

"So, I guess we know what happened to Sabi," Rugula says after leaning you against a tree. "At least he's probably still alive."

>A. Ask how she figures that

>B. You need to find out where he is

>C. You need to find a way off-planet, this mission is a wash

If these robots were just the opening volley then we probably aren't prepared for the big guns they are hiding away. We need to get in, grab Sabi, and get the hell out. We can come back later. Unless there's a full-moon soon....

You tell everyone that you need to find out where Sabi is.

"Well, we have scouters, let's see what we can find," Bardock says.

Did we see the position of the local star in relation to the moon's orbit of the planet to determine a rough estimate of the next full moon.
