“You saw one chance at victory,” Kenpachi grumbles angrily, his blade now jammed deep into Ichigo's chest, “so you let your guard down? An' here I thought you mighta been the one that wasted Aizen... well, if you were I guess that just means he was too weak to hack it anyway.”

Ichigo, his eyes wide in disbelief, watches as his zanpakuto snaps before him. Kenpachi's sword had passed through it almost as if it weren't there, piercing through it with ease before doing the same to him. The jagged edge pulls free. Blood falls slowly through the air as the world grows dim.

“Can't believe I wasted my time on this runt,” Kenpachi sighs as he turns to walk away from the scene, though his enemy can't even hear him anymore. As everything seems to crawl to a halt, a third figure approaches Ichigo.

His clothing seems insubstantial, like shadows lapping around his slender frame, and his face is framed by a thin beard. It seems he looks down at Ichigo in a mixture of sadness and disgust.

“What are you doing, Ichigo?” he demands. “You shouldn't be losing like this when you haven't even called on me properly yet.”

In a moment, Ichigo is standing once more. Zaraki turns in place to face him, surprise evident in his features as the bloodflow seems to stop.

“Coulda sworn your heart just stopped,” Zaraki grins, “but I ain't gonna complain!”

With a massive burst of speed, Ichigo draws a clean slash across Zaraki's chest with his deeply-curved blade, and the giant Captain's grin widens in excitement.

“Sorry, Zaraki,” Ichigo apologizes, “but I can't waste any more time here. I've got somewhere I need to be.”

“I don't care about that shit!” Zaraki roars happily, slashing back at Ichigo with a wild swipe that earns him a second gash on his ribs. “How'd you come back from the brink of death? Where'd you get this strength? None of that matters!”

As Zaraki continues to swing his nameless zanpakuto furiously at his smaller, faster opponent, the two trade minor injuries. Neither shows any sign of falling. “Keep gettin' stronger! Keep risin' again and again so I can keep cuttin' you 'till one of us dies!”

After taking another serious blow, Zaraki stops to laugh like a man possessed.

“The hell's wrong with you?” Ichigo demands. “Even with Zangetsu's help, you just won't go down!”

“Zangetsu, huh?” Zaraki laughs, sidestepping a burst of reiatsu in the vague shape of an arrow as Ichigo tries to keep him off-balance. “That's a good name! Can't tell you anythin' about mine yet, but in exchange for the introduction I'll show you somethin' special!”

Zaraki's left hand, which until now has seen little use in the fight, finds its way to the hilt of his sword as he adopts a high ready stance.

“I've been savin' this to impress a special lady,” Zaraki admits with a wicked grin, “so you better not tell anyone you saw me usin' it... if you survive, that is!”

“You really think a two-handed stance will make that much of a difference?” Ichigo wonders aloud, sizing the Captain up. “It's not live you've doubled your reiatsu or anything.”

Zaraki laughs again, his reiatsu soaring in strength yet again as he finds a rare moment of focus. “To be honest, I'm the worst of the Captains when it comes to kenjutsu. But if you're this naive, Ichigo, guess I'll have to be the one to show you how big a difference it can make.”

“And that's how it was,” Yoruichi finishes, poking a stick at the little fire in the hearth of the shelter cut back into the base of the Sōkyoku hill. “Zaraki just walked away after that. Either his wounds were too severe to bother finishing Ichigo off, or he just couldn't bring himself to do it. I don't know for sure.”

“There's a worse scenario,” you mutter, staring down at Ichigo as he rests. “Could be he had too much fun to kill the kid.”

“Oh, Ichigo,” Yoruichi grimaces at the notion. “Poor, dumb Ichigo. You're in such trouble and you don't even know."

The light filtering in from outside has grown dim over the last few hours, and though it's been nice to just sit with your wife for a while like this the world hasn't stopped moving just for you. Tatsuki, Ishida, Yasutora, and Ganju are all in your Division's custody by now, and Kai is resting from the protracted duel against Ishida in which his zanpakuto was damaged by a Seele Schnieder. You've also received word that Renji has managed to escape from the Sixth Division's barracks. Byakuya must be furiously searching for him by this point.

“It only seems quiet,” Rosa observes in your mind. “You're lingering too long.”

“Quiet, Rosa,” Tenkotsuki hisses. “You may have forgotten, but those of us who still have bodies need to rest every once in a while or they start to lose strength.”

>Rosa has a point, you should return to your Division.
>You should probably search for Renji. That could spell trouble later.

“As much as I'd love to just stay here,” you sigh wistfully, “there's more to be done. Renji's off being a loose cannon for one thing.”

The two of you allow yourselves to share a brief, tender moment together... all to rare these last few days, not just due to the ongoing drama but the fact that Yoruichi has been a cat since she got back. Then, immediately regretting the decision, you leave for the Ninth Division barracks.

Along the way you meet Rangiku, who seems out of breath. It's like she's been searching for you at a breakneck pace since you left to meet Yoruichi.

“There you are!” she declares. “I just got word from Gin, Momo's broken out of her quarters, she's been missing since then!”

“Can't say I'm surprised,” you admit with a sigh. “She's probably going to try and track me down, and odds are good Captain Hitsugaya won't be too far behind.”

“This is getting out of hand!” your daughter shakes her head, clearly frustrated with her fellow Lieutenant. “And if Captain Hitsugaya is going to get involved, things are going to get dangerous.”

She has a point. Two Lieutenants fighting is a dangerous enough situation for most shinigami to find themselves in the middle of, but if Hitsugaya is serious about this there may be a fight between Captains. Getting innocents caught in that is something that should be avoided at all costs.

>Let's head away from the barracks. She'll come to us.

Go find Hitsugaya and tell him to handle her. We can take advantage of the fact that he cares about her well-being. If he cares about her well being the best thing he can do is keep her confined for now. Momo has already fucked herself enough already with the messing up the crimescene, threatening us and then breaking out of her confinement. Clearly she isn't in her right mind.

“We'll lure her away from the barracks,” you decide. “That way if things go wrong nobody else will have to be drawn into it. If you can keep Hinamori occupied, I think I can handle the situation without any need for violence.”

Rangiku nods thoughtfully to herself. “I'll do what I can, of course. But I'm not sure how much she'll be willing to listen to me.”

That'll have to do. You lead Rangiku away from your Division's barracks, eventually settling on an area for your confrontation: an empty stretch of alleyways between Ninth and Tenth Division's regular patrol routes.

“Why is this even here?” Rangiku muses. “I've never really mentioned it, but doesn't the Seireitei look like it's twenty times bigger than it has to be?”

You merely shrug, sensing a Lieutenant's spiritual presence coming towards you.

“I've never been particularly good at this trick,” you admit to your sword as you draw her. “Tenkotsuki, please lend me your skills once more.”

“When you ask so nicely,” Tenkotsuki sighs dramatically.

“Kyokkō,” you declare, hearing Tenkotsuki recite the incantation for you. The world seems to wrap around your edges, making you all but disappear from view.

It only takes a few moments for Hinamori to arrive.

“Where is she, Rangiku?” Hinamori demands, her voice filled with a desperate urgency.

Rangiku shakes her head. “I'm not going to facilitate this anymore, Momo. You have to stop.”

“I can't,” the smaller Lieutenant insists, her body visibly trembling. “Not until Captain Aizen's death has been avenged!”

“I already told you,” Rangiku growls. “Captain Kusajishi had nothing to do with that, you're acting crazy!”

Hinamori draws her sword, evidently having made her mind up. “I admire your loyalty, Rangiku, but it makes me sad that you're loyal to the wrong person. I didn't want to have to do this... not when you've always been so kind to me."

“Snap, Tobiume!” Hinamori calls on her sword as she draws it. But you don't allow her to do anything with it.

You thrust a hand the Lieutenant doesn't see in front of her face, and feel Tenkotsuki helping you cast the “Inemuri” spell. The first thing she notices is the sensation of her nervous system being overwhelmed by your kidō, and if she notices anything else beyond that it's not for long, Her pupils dilate and contract rapidly several times, and finally her eyes lose focus as she slumps to the stone tiles under her feet.

The kidō you've hidden yourself with wears off, and you reappear once more.

“Thank you, Tenkotsuki,” you offer respectfully. “That was much better than it could have been.”

“Think nothing of it, my dear Lady Riku,” your sword replies, a bow almost audible in her tone.

Rangiku quickly moves to place Hinamori under even more extensive bakudō, until you're certain even you would have a tough time breaking free.

“Slow down, girl,” you mutter in amusement. “She's not going anywhere.”

“Now she's not,” Rangiku agrees, clearly not yet over Hinamori's drive to attack you. “Really, if I weren't her friend I wouldn't keep putting up with this.”

“And what would you do if you weren't her friend, Lieutenant?” Captain Hitsugaya asks sternly as he joins the three of you. He doesn't look thrilled by what he sees.

“I thought I told you to keep a closer eye on this girl,” you scold the young Captain. “This is the second time she's tried to attack me.”

“I see you've treated her quite gently again,” he observes calmly, looking over the scene. “Though the binding seems a bit excessive. When I felt you release your sword, Captain, I was concerned that I would have to kill you.”

“Look Shiro,” you insist, dropping any tone of formality for the time being. “I get that you care about the Lieutenant. I really do. But your little friend here was about to attack my dear daughter, and do you see me threatening anyone? Of course not, because I keep my personal and official matters separate!

“You should really try it some time, it makes this whole Captain business way easier.”

“I don't need you reprimanding me like I'm some spoiled brat,” Captain Hitsugaya mutters, though you're fairly sure you've made your point. Still, you won't settle for anything less than total victory this time.

You shake your head in disbelief. “Really, you do need someone to reprimand you. The way you've been acting lately is dangerous, and this absolutely isn't the time for it.”

Hitsugaya silently hefts Hinamori over his shoulder, gripping by the chains of kidō that are binding her. He turns to leave, but pauses before he does so.

“You have a point, of course. My apologies for the inconvenience.”

After he's gone, Rangiku sighs and brushes a stray strand of hair out of her face. “I've never seen him look so embarrassed. You really let him have it.”

“He needs to grow up,” you declare. “Someone with potential like his has no alternative.”

“You figure Aizen tried to play on that deliberately?”

“I have no doubt.”

You decide that it's time you visited Rukia once more, this time heading for the white tower by the Sōkyoku grounds. She deserves to know the fates of the people who came here to save her.

You find her just as she's being moved into the tower itself, but not before Byakuya does. For some reason it seems Ukitake's here as well, likely overseeing the transfer itself rather than coming to visit Rukia in any sort of unofficial capacity.

“Goodbye, Rukia,” he tells her, finishing up whatever he came here to say.

You scowl at him. “You're a real piece of work, little Byakuya.”

“We each do what we must,” he replies calmly. “You know that.”

“Still, I'm not exactly thrilled at your attitude towards the situation, Lord Kuchiki,” Ukitake frowns. “You would think a brother would care more about his sister's fate than that.”

“You might think that,” Byakuya retorts. “Rukia knows our family, and she knows its business. So she also knows what to expect when one of its members breaks the laws of the Seireitei.”

You're about to argue with him about his stubborn refusal to even CONSIDER that the Central 46 may be acting improperly, when you find yourself rudely interrupted.”

You can feel him long before he even arrives. Ichigo has somehow managed to escape from Yoruichi, and is on his way much faster than he should be able to. Of course, it must be that he's stolen one of Yoruichi's many spiritual tools. Probably that wand you used to cross the Atlantic back during the Great War. Byakuya seems to notice something coming, but you've already begun damage control with Tenkotsuki.

“On it!” she tells you as Ichigo cuts through the spot where you were standing with no warning, watching his blade slice cleanly through the afterimage you left to trick him. In the same instant you pivot in place, striking him in the face as you cast Inemuri on him. The combination of the powerful blow and the kidō knocks Ichigo unconscious instantly, a feat no doubt made vastly easier due to his wounded state.

As your feet return to the spots where they were just before Ichigo struck, Tenkotsuki completes her spell. She succeeds in hiding Ichigo's body even before he falls to the floor.

Your expression never changes.

“I felt something just now,” Byakuya muses, a look of non-comprehension spreading across his features. “It felt as if a Captain was fighting nearby.”

You exchange a look with Ukitake, feigning concern. “What are you talking about, Byakuya? It's just us here.”

Byakuya glances at his sister, then at Ukitake, then at you. He looks around himself, as if trying to spot an assailant that simply isn't there to be seen.

“I was certain of it,” he insists. “Surely with your level of skill you felt it as well?”

“Nah.”

Ukitake seems puzzled as well. “I think the strain may be getting to you more than you think, Captain Kuchiki.”

“I...” Byakuya begins, trying and failing to come up with something to say that won't make him sound like a madman. You can see in his eyes that he's beginning to doubt himself as well now, which is exactly what you wanted.

“Go home Byakuya, you're drunk,” you advise, shaking your head dismissively.

Byakuya nods quietly. “I may take your advice, Captain. Perhaps recent events have had an unwelcome impact... my sleep has been off recently.”

With that, Byakuya leaves you with Ukitake, Rukia and her escorts, and an unconscious and invisible Ichigo at your feet.

"Sir... can we continue transferring the prisoner?" one of the guards asks as Rukia blinks awkwardly. It seems everyone else here has momentarily forgotten what they were doing.

"That's right," Rukia mutters. "I was going to prison, wasn't I?"

"I'll be along to speak with you in a moment," you assure Rukia, giving Ichigo's head a subtle kick as he seems to stir for a moment. Probably not necessary, but every little bit helps.

"Yes, ma'am," Rukia replies, sounding exhausted. "You know where to find me."

The guards lead her off into the tower, and Ukitake continues to stare at you in puzzlement.

You can feel that Yoruichi is on her way here, her spiritual pressure hidden to anyone not intimately familiar with its qualities.

“Jūshirō,” you ask hesitantly. “What would you say if I told you I had a teenaged nephew?”

“I'd ask you when Kaoru found time to have a son,” he replies with a cheeky grin.

“He's not Kaoru's,” you admit, to his surprise.

“Who, Isshin?”

You nod, and his eyes widen in surprise. “That's a name I haven't heard in a while. I'd always hoped he was alive and well.”

“Three kids and a wife,” you grin. “I'd say he's doing pretty good for himself.”

“And so what does this have to do with the current situation?”

“His name is Ichigo, and right now he's invisible and curled up in a ball at my feet.”

Jūshirō nods thoughtfully. “I see. I thought I felt something suspicious just now. If it was the child of a long-lost Captain that would make sense. He's here to rescue Miss Rukia?”

“Near as I can tell.”

“So you've taken personal responsibility for his safety and that of his friends, despite holding to your own duties?” he asks. “Quite the line to toe.”

“Tell me about it,” you mutter. “He's a damn handful, but he's not even the worst thing going on here.”

“I take it Lady Yoruichi's involved as well? It makes sense given her absence.”

As Yoruichi makes a fast pass under the walkway, you nudge Ichigo's unconscious body off the edge with one foot so that she can catch him. Requiring no communication and only a second or two of Ichigo being visible again as he falls, your wife immediately adjusts to the situation and quickly makes for the Sōkyoku.

“It also explains why you just kicked the poor boy off the tower,” your fellow Captain adds with a smile.

“Captain Ukitake has also been under Aizen's influence,” Tenkotsuki informs you quietly. “He is not currently being influenced, to my knowledge.”

“There's something really messed up going on,” you tell Captain Ukitake simply. “I can't tell you all the details, but all of this is connected: Central 46's obsession with Rukia, Aizen's death, and more besides. I will try to save Rukia's life, but when the time comes I may not be able to do so.”

“Would you do that?” you ask him calmly. “Can I count on you, Jūshirō?”

After a moment, he nods. “If it's that serious, I suppose I have no choice. Does the Head Captain know?”

You chuckle to yourself nervously. “He knows some of what's going on. But for the same reasons I can't tell you everything, I can't tell him everything either.”

“You certainly don't make it easy, do you?” Ukitake chuckles. “I'll expect an explanation later though.”

You remember that the whole reason you were here was to speak with Rukia, and now that she's comfortably situated in her new confines you decide to follow through on that intention. She's inside the tower, which is devoid of any furnishings, sitting against a wall.

“So, here we are,” she sighs. “Could use some cushions, but I think that's on the long list of things I'm not allowed.”

Taking a seat on the floor next to her, you frown. “You know Ichigo came to rescue you, right?”

“I suspected he'd do that,” Rukia smiles. “That boy is hopeless. Can't leave him alone for five minutes. How has it gone so far?

“Our Division has captured all of them but Ichigo already,” you tell her. “They should be fine though.”

Your Commando seems worried at first, but when you assure her that none of them are in immediate danger of dying. “And what happened earlier?”

“Ichigo tried to rescue you,” you explain with a snicker. “It was sweet of him, but he's still wounded from the fight with Kenpachi. So I had him go to sleep for a while.”

“I didn't even see it!” Rukia exclaims, completely astonished. “He's grown faster so quickly.”

“Tatsuki's grown much stronger too,” you tell her. “They all have, except for Yasutora.”

“Well I'm glad they're okay,” Rukia smiles. “So they'll be allowed to go home safely?”

“I'll make sure of that,” you insist quietly. “And I haven't given up on you either, for that matter.”

“Thank you, Lady Kusajishi,” Rukia bows deeply to you. “Truly... thank you.”

“Don't go thanking me yet,” you frown, scratching the back of your neck awkwardly. “But still, there's something you can do for me in return when this is all over.”

“Name it, ma'am.”

You crack a wide grin. “Take good care of my nephew... understand?”

As Rukia blushes and stammers, you invite yourself out of the tower. Of all people, you find Gin standing on the bridge waiting for you with a smile on his lips.

“I was going to tease her a little,” he admits shamelessly. “Just in case she'd decided she was okay with dying like this.”

“No need,” you explain. “She's stronger than most people seem to give her credit for.”

“That's good.”

As you run towards the Ninth Division barracks, intending at first to speak with your captives there assuming any of them had regained consciousness, you sense two powerful spiritual pressures following you. They're almost certainly Captain level. Alongside them are two presences which can only be Lieutenants... one of them belonging to Tetsuzaemon. It's almost a certainty that the two Captains are Komamura and Tōsen.

Flipping out your phone, you contact your daughter. Gin wasn't wrong, things seem to have taken a drastic turn.

“I'm being followed by two Captains and their Lieutenants,” you report to her. “Meet me. Bring Mirai and Shūhei, and put the Division on maximum alert.”

After a moment of silence, Rangiku speaks up. “Good luck, mom. I'll be there when I can.”

Diverting from your path, you lead your tails into an empty part of the Seireitei: a courtyard of some sort that's elevated above the winding paths below by some dozen meters or so.

“Give it up, boys,” you announce loudly. “You're not nearly as sneaky as you seem to think you are.”

The full reiatsu of two Captains crashes into you in response as Komamura, Tōsen, Iba, and Kira reveal themselves. Tiles crack under the weight of their presence, and particularly under Komamura's massive boots.

“As keen as would be expected, Captain Shiba!” Komamura barks from inside his helmet. “Tragic that it has come to this.”

It's Tōsen who reveals their purpose to you, picking up where Komamura left off. “Central 46 has issued a warrant for your arrest, for your suspected involvement in the murder of Captain Aizen Sōsuke. Please come quietly.”

Wait, how is Riku a suspect again? There is no real evidence for it. Then again 46 is like the Inquisition, innocence proves nothing.

>>
>>43895829
“That so?” you ask calmly. “You sure you're done talking? Well allow me to retort.”

“Bullshit.”

You can feel Tōsen glaring at you. “Explain.”

“There's no way the Central 46 would act so quickly,” you sigh, “and they'd go through the Head Captain and the Onmitsukidō before making a general order.”

“The Head Captain has been informed,” the blind Captain replies. If it's a lie, he's doing well hiding it. “The orders are legitimate, I assure you.”

“Your words ring hollow, Captain,” Komamura adds. “The deflections of a guilty heart, perhaps?”

“Well then, traitor,” you tell Tōsen as your backup arrives. “I suppose this is what you might call in impasse?”

“If you refuse to follow the lawful orders of the Seireitei,” Komamura growls, “then we will be forced to enforce the laws ourselves.”

Tetsuzaemon glances uncomfortably at his Captain, then at you. You can tell by the look on his face that he and Komamura have been through this already at least once before. You've never seen the man so conflicted before.

“I suppose this means we'll have to fight,” he finally concludes. “I have no desire to fight my former companions, but we have no choice now. Mirai, shall we?”

“No,” you mutter quietly. “Mirai, you'll pair off against Kira. Shūhei, you'll fight Tetsuzaemon.”

“Seated officers against Lieutenants?” Kira muses. “The Ninth Division sounds like an arrogant bunch.”

“Draw such conclusions after our fight, novice,” Mirai glares heatedly.

“Guess I can check out the new talent,” Tetsuzaemon mutters. “Come on, rookie. Let's do this somewhere else.”

“I don't suppose I could convince you to withdraw?” you ask once last time.

Behind his featureless helmet, you can tell Komamura is scowling at you. “No. Your choices are willing confinement, or confinement by force.”

“Then I apologize in advance,” you bow gently before allowing your own reiatsu to wash over the two Captains. “For what I'm about to do to you, I hope you will eventually forgive me, Sajin.”

“Leave Tōsen to me, Captain,” your daughter mutters quietly. “Komamura strikes me as the powerful type, so you'll be better suited to fighting him.”

You can tell that your daughter means business, seeing that she's already released her sword inside its sheath. Haineko's ashes are ready to go whenever you give the word.

“Be careful, sweetie,” you tell her. “I'll take care of the big guy, so don't worry.”

“A Lieutenant against a Captain?” Komamura muses. “Would you really send your subordinate to die with such calm?”

“You're in for a real shock, Sajin,” you reply calmly as Rangiku and Tōsen move to the opposite end of the courtyard. “I give your buddy five minutes or less.”

Sajin roars with laughter as he draws his own sword. “If your Lieutenant is so great, then what would that make you?”

“Sōkatsui!” you shout, blasting Komamura's head off with one shot.

Your surprise fades as you realize that you simply caught the giant Captain off guard, and blasted his helmet to smouldering pieces. Underneath is something you absolutely didn't expect to see when you woke up this morning. A fuzzy face, a long muzzle, and vigilant ears frame Komamura's yellow eyes... in a way, he's actually kind of cute, in a doggy sort of way.

“Interesting,” you admit. “A little hairier than I'd imagined but hey, some ladies are into that.”

“That isn't very funny,” Komamura growls as Rangiku deflects a series of vicious spears from Tōsen's sword using Haineko's ashes.

You shrug. “Well, it's unconventional. But I'm not gonna judge.”

Komamura draws his sword, and you do the same.

Orihime is unimportant here.
>>
>>43897437
I'll explain it once you get to see it in action. Otherwise it would spoil the surprise.
>>
>>43897311
Renji is still unconscious?
>>
>>43897238
I suspect that Kubo finally realized that no, not even he could bullshit a way to make a giant Fox person be a captain seem like something reasonable.

>>43897287
That makes even less sense. Was there a ritual, an incantation, SOMETHING or was it just him taking a hit, a bunch of smoke obscuring him for a while and when it cleared up he was human, hax and doomed to be even furrier than before?
>>
>>43897504
Alright, but I can only stay at the edge of my seat for so long.
>>
>>43897531
It is by Kubo standards a filled plot hole. His whole ancestry gets revealed.
>>
>>43897520
... MAYBE.

No, my bad. I missed that one. He's hiding though, so he doesn't know much about what's happened since he WAS unconscious anyway.
>>
>>43897579
It would be pretty impressive if he managed to escape while unconscious. Maybe not so much in the Bleach universe, but definitely impressive for Renji.
>>
>>43897531
There was a whole character arc.
>>
>>43897311
Masaki 's is still out of date
>>
>>43897615
Well, Ichigo managed to escape from Byakuya while unconscious.

Fuck, I'm going to have to read the mess that is Canon Bleach just to see how he bullshits his way out of this, won't I?
>>
>>43897673
What is Tenkotsuki's opinion on Komamura. Seeing that he is a giant fox-thing?
>>
>>43897675
Yup. How far behind are you?
>>
>>43897673

Did Iba properly warn Komamura what he is getting into if he crosses swords with Riku?
>>
>>43897705
She has no opinion. Most people are beneath her notice actually, unless Riku interacts with them on a regular basis.

Being a goddess means it takes more to leave an impression with her.
>>
>>43897673
I find it sort of weird that Gin's stats are the same as in cannon did riku not have that much of a effect on him?
>>
>>43897775
He is obviously hiding his powerlevel.
>>
>>43897741
I'm willing to bet he tried, but Komamura is too busy riding the JUSTICE train to listen.

And now he's going to get his shit wrecked as a result.
>>
>>43897775
Maybe he worships Khorne. Always pegged him for a bird guy though.
>>
>>43897775
He might just be too powerful now for our poxy 'statistics'.
>>
>>43897758

Well we know Rosa's opinion on Aizen. She wants to destroy him.

Does Tenkotsuki have much of any opinion on other people Riku works with?

>>43897775

I figure he is hiding his power level some and he likely knows more tricks then he did in canon.

Remember, in canon he came off as one of the strongest of the captains, he also never fought anyone though.

Other then slapping around a confused Ichigo at the end.
>>
I miss "with his bare hand" and "that reashi" moments from Bleach.
>>
>>43897933
Let's be honest, Bleach is like the McDonalds of anime/manga. It's not good for you, and you don't admit you like it, but once in a blue moon you go there anyway because every now and again you get a very specific craving for the crap that they serve.
>>
>>43897966
I know. It's just nostalgia. If I decided to rewatch Bleach I wouldn't last to the beginning of the rescue arc.
>>
>>43897933
>>43897966

As bad as it eventually got, Bleach really has its moments. Concept is great, and the Aizen arc, even with all the cheese, was very good. And yeah, those "Ichigo is (temporarily) screwed" moments.

Since when were you under the impression...
>>
>>43897966
I still read it through. Like what they did with Mayuri and Nemu. Though I might be a minority in that regard.
>>
>>43898144

Do tell, I haven't read it in years.
>>
>>43898102
It really feelt good to get Kuboed for the first time.
>>
>>43898144
I do still read it, but only after I give it a few weeks or so to pad out properly first.
>>
>>43898155
Kubo basically humanised him with Nemu(or rather Nemuri Nanago) the seventh try at creating artificial life(and an ultimate success). They made him a father, and he showed fatherly feelings. Feelings, Mayuri, it just didn't mix till now.
>>
>>43898221
So no more "kek, hold him down so that I can stab through both of you"?

Mayuri was always one of the more amusing characters.
>>
>>43898144
>I still read it through.

That's my point. As a story, Bleach is by and large pretty crap, but it does have a few moments which make you wonder what it would be like if the entire thing was of the same high quality.
>>
>>43898275
He really peaked against Szayelapporo.
>>
>>43898275
He did do something that kinda pissed me off though. He brought Captain Jobber back to life. Or "dezombified" him. I thought that his plot armour finally ran out.
>>
>>43898325
It truly was a MAD SCIENCE! showdown. Though that kill move.
>>
All in all bleach is in the end a shonen manga. I enjoyed watching it back when I was in late middle school when I first started watching anime. Some may scoff but Naruto and Bleach was the first anime I started to watch, and I watched it with a friend so it has a special place in my mind. Also Kubo do create nice characters with nice "design"
>>
>>43898375
At least they are nice to look at. Not too out there like One Piece, and not too similar like Naruto. Fairy Tail has some nice designs too.

I feel like Kubo went a little too obvious with some of Yoruichi's outfits though.
>>
>>43898426
Hey, don't be talking down One Piece now. The style matches the narrative quite well, even if it isn't for everyone.
>>
>>43898466

How many people will pick up the fight that breaks out here?

Will the reiatsu be felt from a distance?

Bigger question is Kenny picking up on the fight?

I think it would be good if the kid invaders get a feel on what they were stepping into.
>>
>>43898466
Really? Noooo, can't be. It's not like the main target audience for bleach was hormonal teenagers.

(Besides are we really complaining about that?)
>>
>>43898482
I'm not. I love One Piece. I just say that certain character designs can be pretty out there. And very alien to those giving it a first look.
>>
>>43898555
As this fight is occurring earlier than it did in canon, Kenpachi may not be in good enough shape to really participate. Meaning he'll be quite pent-up by the time it's all over.

You'd have to be insensate not to notice this fight, from anywhere in the Seireitei.
>>
1. Komamura's a talking fox person.
2. Inari's domain includes foxes.
3. Riku's sword is an aspect of Inari/Inari's daughter.
4. ???
5. Very dubious profit?
>>
>>43898618
Hate to break it, but Komamura's a wolfman.
>>
>>43898656
What? Damn.
>>
>>43898656
Pretty sure it's a fox in the manga. As far as I can see the thing he turns into after human mode is a fox. I might have missed something. Must check the wiki.
>>
>>43898606

Did no one notice Rangiku went Bankai, or were they unable to identify who's bankai it was against Ishida?

It seems some people really suck identifying peoples true strength.

I guess Kira just dismissed the 9ths reputation.
>>
>>43898656
So, does Tenzumon know how badly this is going to end?
>>
>>43898698
Yup. Wolf, often mistaken for a dog.

>>43898743
His clan is the "wolfman" clan. Its elder is also more dog/wolf-like than Komamura himself is.
>>
>>43898773
Most people can't really tell much about specific reiatsu, so many of those who were paying attention assumed it was Riku. Kira falls into that category.

He's fucked, by the way. Sesshouseki won't be affected by his zanpakuto's power, as it's essentially impervious to reiatsu, and not only is Mirai faster but she's slightly better at kidou. Riku's in-character justification is that the arrangement she settled on means none of the four are familiar with each other or their powers, giving Mirai a definite edge and depriving Tetsuzaemon of a potential advantage, but she accidentally handed Mirai an auto-win.
>>
>>43898792
Yup. I was wrong. Could have sworn that that was a fox that he turned into. Apparently only a very foxy wolf. Oh well.
>>
>>43898792
Tanuki clan when?
>>
>>43898863
>Most people can't really tell much about specific reiatsu, so many of those who were paying attention assumed it was Riku. Kira falls into that category.

So basically, only the old time captains really noticed, like the old man, Unohara, Ukitake and such would ID it as Rangiku.

Aizen of coarse too.
>>
>>43899003
It is different from our half-bankai and most current Captains know how that feels.
>>
>>43899038

Speaking of our bankai, what exactly did we show the captains? The auto-spellcasting part of the Shikai?
>>
>>43899003
Tosen should have noticed as well, he is quite good at sensing Reitsu. Makes me wonder why he was sent on this suicide mission.
>>
>>43899003
Pretty much, yeah.

>>43898963
Probably never. Too many other things to introduce in "part II".
>>
>>43899079
we only showed them the auto-casting and special effects roulette with inappropriate seasonal 7-layered kimono garb.
>>
>>43899085

No one really knows how strong Riku is, other then very.

This is just the start of coarse though.

They also may not know how well Div 9 keeps in contact with each other. Also the power Ishida put out, most would assume that Rangiku got hurt by it, not just a minor easy to heal burn.
>>
>>43898863
>handed Mirai an auto-win
welp.
>>
>>43899098
How many parts do you have in plan? And isn't this part deux?
>>
From ask.

>Question: Did Iba give Kira and Komamura a proper warning what tangling with the 9th division would actually mean? Kira seems to not know what he is stepping into with Mirai. Komamura seemed to have forgotten watching Riku treat Kenpachi as a punching bag all those decades ago too.
>Answer: Komamura simply believes he's gotten strong enough to face Riku, not realizing that he's only seen part of her power from SEVERAL power boosts ago. In his mind it's an easy assumption to make that the older Captains have plateaued.
>As for Kira, he doesn't really talk to Tetsuzaemon that much and Mirai has very little reputation outside her own Division. All he knows is that she's around Lieutenant level, is stronger than she looks, and is very professional. There are also rumors that she's passed up offers for Lieutenant seats to stay where she is, so he knows she's very loyal to her Captain.
>>
>>43899214
Hope she brings popcorn when she's done.
>>
>>43899313
In my head the end of the Invasion arc is something of a natural division in the story. It may not be halfway, but the pitch and tenor will change.

It may be more accurate to refer to it as part III, actually. Part I being the prelude, Part II being early canon.

>>43899214
You lucked out when you found that one, anon. Mirai's pretty intense, and after winning her over early on she's one of the most reliable allies Riku has. At this point she'd even consider accepting otherwise insane risks like attempting hollowfication if you told her it was necessary. She wouldn't be happy about it, but she trusts you.
>>
>>43899434
She definitely needs more screen time.
I'm for training her for Captain if we don't get expelled out of SS.
>>
>>43899434
I guess overall Riku has been pretty lucky, huh? Like getting Yoruichi as a mentor. Imagen if our first captain meeting had been Aizen (if that was even a possibility)
>>
>>43899546
It absolutely was a possibility.
>>
>>43899546
He wasn't a Captain back then.
>>
>>43899546
The 2s were the greatest set of rolls in this quest, bar none.
>>
>>43899600
Hm. Mind me asking how?
>>
>>43899627
And the odd 4. Poor Unohana.
>>
>>43899600
Who is Hitsugaya's Lieutenant?
>>
>>43899709
Ashido Kano. AKA the guy who knows basically the whole story.
>>
>>43899747
Cool. He's a chill nigga.
Who is Aizens?
>>
>>43899813
I remembered. It's Amagi.
>>
>>43899642
Ending up in Fifth under Shinji would have exposed you to Aizen early. From there you'd have had a variety of choices that I never bothered to flesh out very far once we got on the Yoruichi train.
>>
>>43899813
>Cool. He's a chill nigga.
>chill
...how appropriate.
>>
>>43899847
Unohana would have also been nice.
>>
>>43899848
He is an ice type? Was not aware of that. If he is he meshes well wit Shiro.
>>
>>43899905
He never released his Zanpakto, so I've got no idea.
>>
>>43899847
I think Yoruichi clicked quite well with Riku on her being more... Informal then other captains and being part of the 2nd division who doesn't really play by the rules when it comes to fighting.

I for one is really happy we ended up as we have, only other I can see that could have been interesting was captain strawhat.
