Ichigo seems to notice you for the first time, as in the last few hours of his training session you've taken a seat together with Tenkotsuki and Rosa's manifested forms. You proffer a small cup of barley tea.

“Here,” you insist. “It's a matter of hospitality.”

“What are you doin' here!?” Ichigo demands loudly. “And who are these two women?”

“I am Tenkotsuki, one of Lady Riku's zanpakuto,” Tenkotsuki greets calmly, her many tails swaying idly as she pays the young man the barest modicum of attention.

“And I'm Rosa,” Rosa replies, taking a sip of her own tea. “I guess you can call me Riku's other sword. It's close enough to the truth.”

“You've got two zanpakuto?” Ichigo asks, his suspicion and aggravation at your presence suddenly replaced by confusion. “I didn't think that was possible.”

Yoruichi nods thoughtfully. “Ichigo could probably use the healing properties too.”

She then turns to your nephew. “There's a pool over there for you to use.”

Meanwhile you head to the entrance to greet Renji, who has been poking around the inside of the little shack at the top of the ladder down into the training cavern. When he sees you, he tries to draw his sword only to find your hand pressed against the hilt.

“What are you doing here!?” he demands loudly.

“Laying low,” you reply calmly. “I take it my Division is under house arrest?”

“For you mauling two Captains?” he growls. “You bet your ass.”

“My ass is none of your business,” you snap, “but I could probably afford to catch you up on what's been happening.”

After a few minutes, you manage to convince Renji that you're not actually a madwoman spree-killer, and that you may be innocent of all the things people are saying you may have done. He follows you own into the training area, where Ichigo reacts to his presence with absolute shock.

“Now THIS asshole shows up? What the hell, Yoruichi!?”

“Captain Shihōin!” Renji stands up a bit straighter at the presence of another Captain. “Sorry to barge in on you, but I needed a place to finish training. I'm guessin' you know about Rukia's execution?”

Ichigo nods sternly. “I do. I'll be ready, so you better be too.”

“Save your speeches,” Renji shoots back, a strange monkey-like woman and a boy with a snake tail appearing on either side of him. “I've already manifested, so I should be ready even before you are. It's you who's gotta keep up.”

A loud splashing sound greets you after you bid Renji and his zanpakuto goodbye for the time being, as Yoruichi has thrown Ichigo into a healing hot spring.

"It's your own damn fault," she insists dismissively. "You should have just stripped like I told you."

As for you, you crash into a pool of water on the opposite side of a large boulder, allowing you to speak with your nephew without being seen. Your wife seats herself against the boulder as well, seemingly grateful for the relief.

"Babysitting these kids is too stressful," she sighs. "You keep freaking out all the time, like they could get killed at any point."

"Hey, Aunt Riku," Ichigo interrupts from his own side of the rock. "Didn't you say that Yoruichi was your cat?"

A devious glance tugs at your lips as you exchange a glance with Yoruichi.

You could swear you even feel a bit... well, it's hard to say what it is. It's like you feel that things are just going to go your way. As if you're somehow luckier than you were when you went to sleep, or something similarly nonsensical.

Rangiku on the other hand sits bolt upright with a gasp.

Ichigo seems frazzled as well, exchanging a near-dead glare with Renji over breakfast. Seems that the Lieutenant didn't heed your advice about resting and crashed hard. He's barely on his feet.

The trip to the Head Captain's office is a short one for someone as fast as you, but still it would probably have been advisable under such circumstances for you to try to sneak your way over there. But right now, for some reason, you really don't feel like you can be bothered.

“You are not even going to try being subtle about it?” Tenkotsuki wonders aloud.

“Nope,” you reply confidently. “Don't need to. It'll be fine.”

“Bushōgoma!” Shunsui declares, sending a pair of scything wind blasts towards you in defiance of your words. They form an eye wall around you, blocking your line of sight in every direction but up and down.

“Takaoni!” Shunsui adds, descending from above into the center of his previous attack. The swing slices straight through your body, surprising even your fellow Captain with the ease of which he managed to kill you.

Or at least that's what he thinks before a shunkō-empowered punch hits him in the back of the head.

“Ouch! That really hurt!” Shunsui complains as he wobbles to his feet, having smashed his face into a tile roof. “You made me lose my hat too... that wasn't very lady-like!”

“I wouldn't have had to if you'd just agreed to come with me in the first place!” you retort. “Besides, you started it!”

“Where the hell are you in such a hurry to get to anyway?” the Captain inquires, swinging his blades at you together in wave-like combinations. That short blade keeps almost lulling you into a false sense of security. You have to be careful to judge his fighting distance based on the longer sword.

“The Head Captain's office!” you reply, tripping Shunsui with a reiatsu chain. “Like I said, probably the same place you're going!”

“Did you kill Captain Aizen?” Shunsui asks as he breaks the chain and tries to disarm you with an upward swipe from the longer of his two falchion-like blades.

“White,” you declare as a hirenkyaku brings you instantly into slashing range. Shunsui's eyes widen in alarm as Tenkotsuki arcs straight for them, the blade in prime position to swipe right across the bridge of his nose. Though it's clear he's always thought of his eyes as grey, the color of his irises, he realizes in this exact moment that his eyes, like yours, are mostly white.

At the last possible moment Tenkotsuki's edge drifts a hair higher, slashing Shunsui across the eyebrows. Though the wound is relatively minor, it's still enough to get blood in his eyes.

“Let's go, Shunsui,” you insist, grabbing the man by the back of his silly pink haori while he tries vainly to clear his vision. “I'll explain everything when I make my report to the Head Captain.”

“You don't play fair!” Shunsui complains from behind you, but finally it seems that he's willing to comply. “Still, my eyes thank you for going easy on me.”
