Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, joined the Circle of Mages and met his roommate, Ed. He borrowed some books from the library and picked out his familiar. After spending hours trying to master some of his sorcerous heritage, he went to Eve who gave him a pep talk that helped him master more of his ability.

You stand there in the aftermath of your discovery. Your legs feel energized. You hop from one foot to the other letting all of your new found power settle and balance out. Maybe you should go for a jog or something. Eve stares at you, looking you up and down as she notices some change in your demeanor.

“Well? Did that help at all?” You nod to her. Odd to admit, but it was a combination of that book's insights and her speech that gave you a leg up on mastering some of this. Eve has, in spite of her eccentricity, been an able teacher for you. “Good then. Just remember, if you keep holding onto your goals tightly your body will give you what you need. If you ever find yourself accomplishing what you set out to do, come up with an even harder goal so as to keep pushing yourself. I believe in you, Alan!” And with that she gives you a playful punch in the hip.

She turns back to her own practice and leaves you there. You're confident you can now channel some of your arcane talent into your legs to make yourself move faster.

You figure it's about seven or eight in the morning. You head to the Circle's cafeteria and grab yourself a bite to eat, gorging yourself on smoked sausages and biscuits. Alright, what's first for today?

You decide to go look for Quissonce. Eve can help you master that instinctual ability, but Quissonce has the experience and the knowledge on how to manipulate magic with technique. You head back up to the fourth floor and knock on her door.

You wait for a few seconds and after a lengthy silence you wonder if she's somewhere else. As you begin to walk away, the door opens and Quissonce looks at you.

“Oh. Hey Alan. What's up?” Her eyes look bloodshot.

“I was wondering if you would be able to teach me some of the basics of wizardry.” It takes her a few seconds longer than usual to process what you're saying, but she quickly nods her head yes.

“Oh, sure sure. I can give you a few basic pointers. I mean, I have all the time in the world now. Come in, come in. You want some coffee?” You politely accept the offer as you enter her room.

It looks much the same as yours and Ed's room, with a few distinct differences. For one, there is bat guano on the central table. In a sealed container, but it's closer to the food than you think shit has any right to be. Quissonce's table is filled with all those books she took from the library. There are two piles. One side has ten and the other has four, with one book open in between the two, about half-way finished.

Eve's personal desk has just a small wooden idol of a dragon on her desk. A gift from the lizardfolk, perhaps?

There are scribbled pieces of paper all over the floor that have been crushed into little paper balls. Quissonce's hands are covered in ink, you notice, as she hands you a cup of coffee. You only got five or six hours of sleep, so you could use a pick-me-up.

“So Alan what would you like me to show you first. Maybe I could teach you about the basics of spellcraft? Or I could teach you some arcane lore? Or how to get a simple spell book going? What do you want to learn?” She's speaking in a rather rapid manner.

“I was wondering actually if you could teach me how not to sleep, first.” She looks at you puzzled.

“That's something only elves are able to do. I doubt you could learn it.” You shrug.

“I should at least try. Test my limits a bit. And if I don't have to sleep I'll have extra time to learn everything else. What's the worst that could happen?” She steps back and taps her finger on her lips.

“Yeah, sure. Okay Alan. Ummm,” she ponders how she's going to teach you this. “I guess I'll just start meditating. Try to follow along.” She sits on her bed and crosses her legs. She motions for you to sit next to her and you copy her position. “So, it starts with shutting out the rest of the world. You can't let the noises or your responsibilities or anything bother you. You come to a quiet. You focus on your skills and how best to utilize them. Its easy for me. I just think about the gestures, the philosophy and the different spells involved in casting magic.”

She lets the world come to a quiet and begins her meditation. You watch her for a while. She does look serene. But then you realize that isn't really meditating if you watch her. So you focus on yourself. What do you need to do? You still haven't done your daily hour of prayer so you begin communing with The Great Will. You focus on that and begin making your requests of him to grant you strength and wisdom. Courage and bravery. You fall into a peaceful trance as the world around you fades away into a white void of calm. (1/2)
>>
“Alan wake up!” Your eyes shoot open as Eve's voice pierces your ears. You're lying in bed. Eve and Quissonce are standing over you. “Seriously, Alan. I came up with this super cool handshake now that we're all part of the Circle. Wanna see it?”

“Eve, you ruined my meditation!” you put your hands to your head. It hurts a bit.

“Actually Alan, you fell asleep. It's dinner time,” Quissonce admits. You give her a wide-eyed stare. You've been asleep for ten hours. Fifteen altogether if you count your rest from last night. “You looked peaceful. I didn't want to disturb you.” Eve nods her head.

“You need to get good rest whenever you make a breakthrough like that. Pushing yourself saps your strength. Now, wanna see my handshake!”

“Yes Eve. Show me the handshake.” She shoves her hand out at you in a c shape. “Circle up!” You look at her and at her hand and then at Quissonce whose expression seems to scream 'just indulge her'. You make a c shape with your own hand and connect it with her hand. “Alright!” She brings her hand down. “So this is a secret handshake only for us magic-users. We don't tell the others about it and what the significance of it is.”

“I'm sure the others will feel so jealous. So Alan, would you like to try not sleeping again. Might be a lot easier now.” She smirks at you. Har har. You sit up and breathe a bit.

“No, I think I'll try trying to get the basics of spellcrafting down now.” You stand up and roll your shoulders a bit.

“OK. But you should eat something first.” Quissonce points to a bowl of stew sitting on the central table. How nice. You go over and start eating while Quissonce sits next to you and starts pulling out a blank piece of vellum and two inkpots.

She goes over the basics of how to construct a spell. Magic, as wizards practice it, is quite similar to accounting or math. She shows you how different symbols combine together to make different phrases and gestures that aid in the casting of different spells. It's all Draconic, but certain words in the Draconic language are more suited to spellcasting than others, and their combination differs slightly from the combinations of symbols that make up basic communication. A scholar who can speak the language but knows nothing of spells and magic would be unable to decipher the script for a scroll or spell book. (1/2)
>>
Quissonce also teaches you the gestures and the exact pronunciation that goes with the symbols on the page to allow you to see a spell in action and through the analysis of certain core principles figure out its purpose or effect. Not as necessary for a fireball, but it might be integral to figuring out somebody casted a spell to charm you.

She shows you different symbols that are more commonly used for different schools of magic. She says you should read that book about them if you want to have an even more in-depth understanding of the gestures that govern which schools.

Finally, she has you learn how to detect and read magic. These, she says, are a wizard's bread and butter. The fundamentals. With these you can decipher a magical document or magic runes on a weapon if it was written in an alternate form. Detect magic allows you to see the magical auras emanating off of of objects and people and then from the specific 'flavor' of their aura, discover the school of magic governing said object or person.

You spend six hours working on this and by midnight you've gone through dozens of papers. But you think you finally have a grasp of spellcrafting. You're even able to make your first scroll. All it does is cast detect magic when read, which Quissonce tells you every wizard can do. But it shows you've got a grasp of it.

“You are officially a very sub-par wizard.”

Yay!

Well you've learned a lot in six hours of straight study. And now it's time for you to relax and wind down. You aren't ready to go to sleep yet. You put your quill down, thank Quissonce for taking time out of her day to teach you and tell them you're heading to The Sword and Shield for a drink.

You head out and check in with Ed for a moment before gathering your stuff. He tells you he'd be happy to teach you about magic whenever you were down for it. You tell him you may take him up on his offer later before heading down to the first floor and start walking towards the main street of Seaside.

You make it The Sword and Shield which, from the amount of noise coming out of it seems to be in full swing of things. You even hear some familiar voices . . . arguing. You sigh as you enter.

Rowe is leaning against the wall near the door and you two lock eyes as you enter. She raises her glass in salutations before turning her head back to the central focus of tonight's drama.

“Who the fuck are you to say that I'm evil?” Gabby shouts across the table at Dolah, standing up looking ready to start throwing punches.

“Dolah Ornatheon. Paladin of The Great Will. And I'm not saying you're Evil. The Great Will believes that. I'm saying you're fat. That's not an insult, merely an observation.” Dolah is still sitting down, but she's in her full armor, grasping a glass of water tightly. Most of the patrons of the bar are warily watching the loud argument. The bartender, to his credit, doesn't seem to care much.

“Fuck you. Your God doesn't exist and if he did he'd be a fucking pussy.” Rowe laughs at this exchange. She looks over to you.

“I can tell they're in love. Why can't they?” Rowe sips her beer as she watches the next volley of insults.

You chuckle to yourself, before going to grab a drink from the bar. You ask the bartender if he wants the sword back. He shakes his head no before telling you to keep it. You'll find more use for it. You go back to Rowe and clink glasses as you settle in to watch.

“So, how long has this been going on?” Rowe thinks a bit before starting.

“About, five maybe ten minutes ago. Dolah walked in looking very angry and of course Gabby had to poke the orc, because how else are you going to show affection. Dolah responded by yelling at her about being a sinner and a 'corrupter', I particularly liked that one. Said that if Gabby wasn't around we wouldn't have been convinced to take the law into our own hands. Gabby brought up that Betsy had all the guys we didn't kill hanged for attempting to kill Calloway anyway. Dolah responded that that is up to the law of the town to decide, not one person. Yadda Yadda. Then comes Dolah saying Gabby is evil. And here we are.”

You listen in on the conversation.

“Even if by some fucking miracle your God does exist, why the fuck should anybody listen to him. I have powers. Rowe has powers. Quissonce, Eve, Kyra have powers. Alan's a sponge. And you know who's responsible for those. Us. No matter how much power you get you're still Big Daddy Will's bitch.”

“Is that what comforts you? You need to be #1 all the time? Does it frighten you that there may be something more powerful than yourself you may have to defer to every once in a a blue moon. No, you're better than the law of man and the law of God. Fine. But keep your vile beliefs to yourself and don't drag the others into it. Especially Alan. He's going through a rough patch in his life and he doesn't need you steering him back towards the dark.” Gabby laughs uproariously at that last part.

“Pot. Kettle. Black.”

Yeah, you're not touching that situation with a ten-foot pole. You finish your drink before turning to Rowe.

“Can you teach me how to handle a bow?” She laughs.

“My turn to play teacher? Sure, I can give you some training if you want.” You see Kyra sitting by herself and wave for her to come over.

She flips you off and goes back to her drink. You frown before Rowe laughs again. “Yeah, you're going to have to go to her. I'll get us more drinks.”

You head over to where Kyra is sitting, inching your way around the periphery of the bar to avoid being sucked into Dolah and Gabby's 'morality argument' and sit across from her. She seems to have a new weapon on her back. When you point to it with a questioning look, she quickly whips it out and points it at you while holding it with both hands.

It's a very sharp, thin blade. Looks easy to break. “What is that?” She sheathes it quickly.

“Katana.” Huh. You've never heard of whatever that is. At this point Rowe comes back with three ales and puts them in front of you.

“Yeah, Kyra picked that up from the Fighter's Guild. You should join up tomorrow. Considering your talents, there's plenty of training manuals and skilled people you could try to bum a lesson off of. It costs 100 gold to get in and then 10 gold a month afterwards for upkeep, but I think it'd be worth it.”

Kyra nods in agreement. The argument between Dolah and Gabby has now turned into whether or not The Great Will should receive credit for Gabby's skills.

“So Kyra, what have you been up to recently?” you ask as Gabby starts to question the point of worshipping something that is going to grant everybody powers.

“Sneak stuff. Practice with my new weapon. Joined the Fighter's Guild with Rowe. Test out some new skills. Blackburn told me there have been some disappearances lately. Couple guards here and there. Show up a bit later seemingly alright, acting a bit strange. Been investigating.” That sounds interesting, you think as Dolah mentions that even now Gabby can turn to the light.

“How about you Rowe?” you question as Gabby tells Dolah the light is coming out her fucking ass.

“Bow stuff. I've gotten a lot better. Pulling off shots that before were practically impossible. Faster too. Joined the Fighter's Guild. Recently a group of members were ambushed in the forest to the south-west of Seaside a few days ago. Probably by orcs. Guildmaster asked me to look into it. I've been doing some solo excursions out into that area looking for signs of them. Blackburn has been paying me for bringing back flora and fauna that Gilda hasn't found yet.” Gabby has now made some insinuations about Dolah's sexual orientation. “How about you?”

“Well, I'm a wizard now!” You bring up as Dolah questions Gabby's obsession with her sexuality.

“Cool.” Rowe gives you a thumbs up. You look back at the argument. Dolah is talking while Gabby seems to be fuming.
>>
“All I am saying is that you act rather butch. I'll admit, I can sometimes appear masculine myself. But I'm part orc, what's your excuse? I also don't ask other females if they're sexually interested in women.”

“I'm not a fucking dyke.”

“Well neither am I. And seeing as how we both are unable to lie – oh wait! That's just me.” Dolah smirks at Gabby.

Oh boy, here it comes. Gabby is red in the face. Rowe turns to Kyra and the two start betting on who's going to win. The two of them are staring each other down. Who's going to throw the first punch.

Gabby suddenly turns on her heel and storms away from Dolah. Dolah visibly relaxes as Gabby makes a beeline towards your table. She slams her head down on the floor.

“I want to hit something. If you want it to be your face, Al. Tonight at the beach.” She walks away and slams open the doors.

You sigh and finish the last of your drink before getting up from the table. Rowe looks at you in shock.

“You're seriously not going to go fight her, are you?” You shrug. “God, you really are a masochist.”

“It's just a spar and besides, last time I kicked her ass. I'm sure I'll be –”

WHAM!

Ow. OK, your nose isn't bleeding. You put your hands back up into position as she comes at you with three more strikes. Gabby looks extra pissed.

“I swear some fucking day I'm just going to snap and beat her until she is little unrecognizable chunks of green.” You try going for a stunning fist, which she catches, but you're able to come in with a left hook to her gut. She grunts and then backs up. “But here's the thing. She wants me to hit her. You can see it on her smug face. Just wants me to be the one to make the first punch so she can brag about how she's right. I'm not gonna let her win.”

You rush her and try to knee her in the chest. She catches you and lifts you off the ground. You bring your elbow into her shoulder before she can toss you into the sand. Smart move, fighting on the beach. Makes falls hurt less. The cold, sea breeze and the sound of the waves coming in keep the place feeling peaceful despite your frantic activity. She's rubbing her shoulder. You got her good with that elbow.

“Maybe you should think less about her and more about right now.” You advise as you stand up. She looks you in the face before nodding her head.
>>
“Yeah, you're right. Thanks for this, Al. I needed to vent some steam.” She rushes you and goes for the grapple, lifting you off the ground and then throwing you back into the sand. She gets on top of you and then begins to wail on you. The first two go straight to your face but you're able to catch the third. And then you catch her other hand.

You struggle for a bit in your impromptu test of strength. She has gotten stronger. You realize you aren't going to win that way. So you come up for the headbutt. SLAM! She lets go and rolls off of you, holding her head. You roll the other way and quickly come up to your feet. She's still sitting on the ground.

“Ow. Fuck, Al. You hard-headed motherfucker.” She takes her hand off her head and looks at it, blood coming out of a wound on her forehead. She wipes the blood off in the sand and looks at you. “You actually fucking learned from that fight on the boat, didn't you.” You shrug. The pain of that move is just now getting to you. Your head feels like you got a stone dropped on it. Thankfully you can heal yourself. She gets up, wiping the sand off her white, slightly ripped robe.

“Eh, I think I'm good. I owe you one for this. Anything you want me to teach you, you got it. Just not tonight.” As she starts to catch her breath, you notice she's got a pained expression on her face. You'd like to think it's from you, but something tells you it's not some physical ailment that bothers her.

"You're not evil Gabby. Dolah is to focus on doing things "by the book" but even she once said that the Great Will doesn't forgive TRUE evil. What that man was doing was evil he couldn't be redeemed. I mean, you really don't think Gabby's evil, but you really don't think it's good to broach the subject for right now.

“Hey Gabby. You want to come get drunk with Rowe, Kyra and I?” She looks up at you, her face dropping the funk she was in.

“Hell yeah.” You heal your wounds and then hers. Then the two of you walk back up from the beach, through the waterfront areas and onto Seaside's main street. You enter the bar to find it much emptier than before. Dolah has left and is most likely at Father Calloway's chapel.

You see Kyra and Rowe, who have now gone through three or four more drinks each. Quissonce has also seemed to have joined them. You grab yourself a drink and Gabby grabs four for herself and one more for you.

You head over and seat yourselves. Rowe pipes up first.

“So you didn't kill each other. That's good.” Quissonce looks confused and Rowe promptly explains the fight that happened earlier. Quissonce looks puzzled.

“Dolah does know that we're all capable of independent thought right.” Rowe motions for her to drop it so you all can get to drinking.

You chat as you drink through your two ales and purchase a third one. That makes five you've drunk tonight. You're definitely feeling it.

“Hey Gabby. Have you also joined the Fighter's Guild?” She nods her head.

“Yeah, after Rowe said they had some scrolls there about meditation techniques and fighting styles with fists, figured I'd pony up the money. There's a couple interesting things in there, but I figure I'll learn most of my shit from the field. Or beating you into a pulp, Al. Hey Rowe, we still on for that orc hunt?” Rowe shrugs.

“The second I have a good idea where to find them. Yeah. I'm still having issues tracking that lost group of Fighter's Guild members and you figure they'd at least leave some sort of trail. All I can say for certain is that the war party that took them hasn't left the area.” Gabby turns to you.

“You should come with, Al. They haven't been able to capture a live orc yet and are apparently paying a shitload if we bring one in. Plus Fighter's Guild will be greatful if we rescue some of their members. And, y'know, somehow it helps the war effort, or something.”

You may just join them on that when the time comes. You look over to Quissonce as you knock back your sixth drink. She is singing some sort of tune to herself. It isn't really a song. Sounds much more like she's speaking poetry in a lyrical manner. Some elven art?

You figure you might find out about the Ed situation.

“So, Quissonce.” She stops what she was doing and looks over to you.

“Yes.”

“What do you think of Ed?” She scrunches her face up and looks up at the ceiling of the bar.

“He seems nice. Helpful too. Carrying all those books up would have been annoying without him. But, I mean he's your roommate. I figured you'd know him better than me. What do you think of Ed?”

“I think he's a cool dude. He's nice, respectful and isn't a shit roommate.” You shrug your shoulders and so does Quissonce. You don't think you were being anywhere close to subtle, but she seems drunk enough that she didn't pick up on how obvious asking about Ed was. Ed's a half-orc. Which means he has parents of different races. And so might Rowe. That's a segue if you try hard enough.

You turn to Rowe. “Hey Rowe. So, you're part elf, right?” She nods.

“Yep. Half in fact.” Wow, she looks very human save for the ears. So one of her parents is a full elf. At your question, Rowe seems to get some flash of insight before turning to Gabby. “That reminds me. What were you going on about with half-elf men that one time, Gabby.” Gabby laughs as she finishes her drink and then sets it aside. Quissonce also seems interested in this.

“So, y'know how elf men are pretty boy pansies and only elf women are willing to fuck them.” Quissonce and Rowe look at each other. Gabby erroneously take this as agreement with her previous statement. “So what's the one thing that makes an elf bitch hornier than all hell.” Rowe looks at Quissonce. Quissonce shrugs. “Don't ask her. She'll lie. What turns elf women on are human men. No, not the ugly shitty one that make up most of the human fucking race. But those rugged, bearded alpha males. Because all female elves had their whole lives are pretty boy pansies. And that's where half-elves come from.”
>>
>>44120746
Gabby is /tg/ as fuck.
>>
Rowe looks at Quissonce again, who puts her hands up in mock surrender. “She got me. I'm a slut for human cock.” Rowe starts to laugh, but Gabby takes this as a cue to continue.

“Right! So now take a half-elf male. He retains some of those pretty boy genes from his mother's side, but he also has those alpha male genes. Facial hair, masculinity, vigor, y'know. He's got that human vigor!”

Rowe nods sarcastically and puts her hands out. “Truly, we half-elves have vigor. It is our best quality.”

Gabby shakes her head in affirmation. “Yes. Vigor. Masculinity combined with a softer, feminine touch. The type of guy that will make you scream into the pillow, but write a poem about it afterwards. Y'know.”

Rowe and Quissonce are stunned as Gabby finishes her spiel. Rowe then turns to you. “Yeah, so my father is a full-blooded elf and my mother is human.” Gabby frowns as Rowe and Quissonce burst into laughter. “I do appreciate how much thought you put into that Gabby. Very interesting.”

You finish your seventh drink as this moment passes.

As you stumble back with your eighth drink, you realize Rowe was pretending to be human since you met her. She even mentioned something about growing pointy ears or something. That's fucked up.

You sit down and turn to her. “Hey Rowe? Why were you keeping your elven ancsstry a secrit?” Rowe waves her hand.

“Eh, I'm a giant stereotype. Half-elf with a bow, kills orcs, good in forests. I'd rather not have people judge an entire group of people because of my decisions. I can pass for human and that lets me avoid prejudice from humans for being an oddity and from elves for being a mongrel.” Quissonce speaks up.

“Actually, that's a stereotype for elves. The stereotypes for half-elves are, well” Quissonce makes an 'opened legs' gesture before going back to her drink. Which takes her a few tries to pick up. Man, Quissonce is pretty wasted.

Hey. Wait a minute. You turn to Gabby.

“The fuck 'r you talkin' about?” Gabby looks over to you. “You can' beat me into a pulp. I just kicked yr ass outside!” Gabby slams her drink down.

“I don't know what fight you're remembering. I let you off before I destroyed you.”

“Nuh-huh. You gave up. You lost! I've beaten you twice now!” You hold up two fingers. Gabby blows a raspberry.

“Eh, I was mad and off my game. And the first time I was going easy on you. Any other time I'd kick your fucking shit in, kid.” She laughs. Oh, kid is it?

Kid? KID?! Oh you'll show her you're all fucking man. You tackle that cunt to the ground, admittedly it was a bit sloppy and you two stumbled into one of the nearby tables, knocking it over. But it was successful. You hear groans from behind you.

“He spilled my drink.” Quissonce complains as you pull your fist back and punch Gabby right in her gabber. She grabs you by the arm and chucks you off of her. You slam into a chair and break it. The night-duty bartender just sighs and crosses his arms, looking at the rest of your friends. You and Gabby get up.

“Oh I see Alan. It's an ambush, is it?” Gabby says as she wipes her mouth with her sleeve. “Well bring it!” You put your head down and slam into her, backing her into a wall. She reigns her fists down upon your back before you actually manage to lift her a bit off her feet. She lifts her legs up and kicks off the wall, putting enough strength and momentum into it to push you back. You're also a bit top heavy at the moment, so you fall backwards and land on your back as she rolls off of you and into another table.

“Goddammit.” Rowe is holding her head in her hands as she preemptively starts counting out coins to pay for the damages. You stumble to your feet. Whether its because you're very drunk or you've been hit a lot, you aren't sure. Gabby also gets up. She rips the sleeves off of her robes, since one of them has already been torn a bit.

“Is that all you have in you, KID?”

Nah. Time to finish this. You rush at her and she she similarly comes barreling towards you. At the last second you slide under her legs and sweep her feet out from under her. She hits the side of a table coming down with her head. When she's on the floor you get on top of her and just start wailing. She holds her arms up, deflecting most of your punches, but you're still punching her arms and that's gotta hurt.

“Give up!”

“NO!” She shouts at you, punching you in the gut as you give her a moment of respite. You go back to wailing. She has her arms up again. Every once in a while, getting a strike in when you accidentally give her a chance.
>>
You've got her. She's done for. There's no fucking way she can keep this up for – GAK! Your hands reach up to the arm that has wrapped itself around your neck. It's rather slender, covered in leather. You reach your arm around you to feel curly hair. It's Kyra. She's choking you out.

You tap her on the arm as you thrash about. She's got you. You'll stop. Her only response is “Shhhhhhhh Alan. Time to sleep.” In your futile attempts to get her off you, you've been dragged off of Gabby. She tries to get up, but Rowe quickly runs up from behind and puts her foot on Gabby's chest.

“Nooooooooooo. You go to sleep too.”
“No! I almost had him where I wanted him! Let me up!” Gabby tries to get up from the ground, but is too weak and too drunk to stop Rowe from keeping her down.

“No. Quissonce, can you help with this.” Quissonce comes up from behind and casts some sort of spell on Gabby. It doesn't seem to do anything. Rowe gives Quissonce a questioning look. She shrugs.

“It's supposed to make people fall asleep.” Quissonce tries it again. Gabby keeps thrashing, yelling about how she has to beat you up. A third time. A fourth time. On the fifth cast, it finally works and Gabby passes out from Quissonce's spell.

You on the other hand are still trying your damnedest to not black out. You keep tapping Kyra on the arm. It's OK. You're fine. You'll stop.

All you get in response is Kyra trying to soothe you. “Shhhhhhhhhh. It's alright Alan. Sleep time.”

Your eyes get droopy. Your vision gets hazy. Sleep sounds nice. The last thing you hear before you pass out is Rowe's voice.

“I'm sorry sir. How much do I owe you?”

You black out.
