Anyone remember heroes of might and magic 3? Great, this game is a bit like that!
How to play:

>Each turn you decide an action for the village first (research, building, whatever). Most votes wins (loosely), roll 1d100 for success.
>Then you decide an action for the away team.
>Whenever something new is built/invented/upgraded/recruited/… YOU post an image of the thing and I shop it onto our village
>images cannot include: magical realm, lame memes, stuff that reminds me of /b/ or /pol/, stuff from established settings.
>any suggestions welcome
It’s been a few weeks since we've settled here.
Only a few elders remember the days before our tribe became nomads. They were very young at that time, and they can’t remember much of the terror that chased them away, but they tell tales of brutes with demonic strength.
The sea is calm here, the mountains guard us from the wind.
This is our village, our home.

>Inhabitants: Humans (few, primitive)
>Buildings: Houses (few, primitive)
>Tech: hunting and gathering

Before anything else, we need a name for this village
>>
>>44282102
Hey guy, you might wanna name for this tho.

The village name... well I kinda like Og? a lot

We should send some scouts around, see what we can find to feed ourselves

We shall name it Vanaheimr (I was going for Butterpuss at first)

Our group of scouts exist of brave men and women who wander the wild and provide for the village. (scouts, or away team, will be posted and voted for as the ‘second’ part of each turn. Village->scouts->village->so on…)
They bear simple weapons and tools, mostly spears and baskets.
Away team:

Our team needs a leader! We need a name/ specialisation/ image!

[Village turn]
A few villagers have taken to the gentle sea, trying to fish whatever they can on primitive boats. It appears they get some strange, small fish and even eel in their nets. However, they also find some half-eaten fish and some fishermen have seen flashes of large predators in the water.

Others manage to gather some loose rocks and chop down a few trees near the village.

Storehouses on their way

[Away turn]
The scouts are able to gather many hard fruits, nuts and some strange spices. Some of the fruits seem to have seeds in them, which they could use for farming.

Njorm takes his time to study the wildlife. He spots many snakes, insects and hares (some with antlers). In the distance, he could spot what appears to be some wild boar.

In the afternoon, the gatherers take a break. It's then when they see something miraculous going on in the distance...

A question for whoever is here: What do you think about this game?
Not many players seem to join, do you think it's the timing? Or do you think there's something unappealing about the format or narrative? Any feedback is welcome.

Hey sorry if I haven't been active but I'm kinda busy right now. I'm lurking this thread and I find it very interesting actually.

[Away turn]
As the scouts approach the lake, a fog seems to come out of nowhere.
For a moment, whatever caught their eye disappeared in the thick mist.
The scouts reach the shore when Njorn calls them to a halt. "This reeks of magic" he warns...
Slowly, a large head rises from the water, clearly focussed on the party. The creature doesn't seem to show any emotion, no sign whether it is hostile or not...

>Or do you think there's something unappealing about the format or narrative

Maybe there's too much to consider when it comes down to managing/building the village,
with more players this would be problematic because everybody will ask to focus on a specific thing like building defenses/gathering resources or food/ building normal houses or dedicated buildings etc etc.

I think it would be a good idea to set a few main requirements/goals to have a functioning village before moving on with the campaing and expansion,
like having a storage, a few groups of people dedicated to the gathering of resources and other basic stuff that once the first "stage" is completed becomes automatic so we don't have to specify/roll for it every turn.

But all in all yes it's very interesting.

Njorn will lead the party closer...

[Village turn]
The villagers have been very busy building a large wooden fence. The children who are helping have no idea why they're doing it, since the parents are trying to hide the fact that they are uneasy with the though of other beings in the mountains.
The fence isn't very high, but it bars off any entry-point to the village except for the sea.

Some people were just finishing up a part of the fence close to the mountain when they saw it: a young child, one of our own, lying on barren rock outside the village. A large gaping hole was left where the child's stomach used to be.

[Away turn]
The scouts are uneasy, but Njorn decides they should not raise arms. Instead, he goes knee-deep into to shallow water and holds out a piece of fruit.
Waves crash into Njorns frail body as the entire island seems to drift towards him. A mouth that could shallow two men whole opens up before him, Njorn gently throws the fruit in and then quickly pulls back his arm...

The scouts are amazed by the gentleness of this giant as it remains docile while they offer it more fruit. The creature seems to have a sleepy demeanour.
The scouts will:

The gentle way, eh?

[Village turn]
In the morning, the village seems quiet. As if nothing happened and everybody just decided to stay in bed today.
They came in the night, breaking through the fence and cleaving down anyone who crossed their path with crude axes. The few sentries who guarded the fence fell first. They were horned men, with faces of goats and eyes filled with hatred. Whenever they caught someone, they took their time to tear off bits of flesh and ruthlessly mutilate the victim...
After they had taken down about 10 humans, they dragged the corpses along and rushed back through the fence.

The first day nobody had dared to step outside of the houses or the storage shack. The day after that, some went outside and resumed some minor tasks. Bits of human body are still spread across the village, even a few unclaimed corpses.
On the mountain, figures have been seen.
Horned figures.
Waiting.
Watching.

So, what are we going to do?

You've discovered this creature is extremely docile. It's even outright lazy, probably since it doesn't have much problems with natural predators.
