The New Necrotic Armada strengthens its hold on a new system, Jadyk's Generals creating bunkers and fortresses on alien worlds. The Ahkam converted natives beginning planet-wide preparations and celebrations, bonfires and sacrificial altars blessed and stacked high with food.

Entropic Excavators shatter and consume vast amounts of stone and raw metal ore, the metal ingots left in their wake harvested and shipped out where they were needed in your Armada.

Across several systems Eyegores drift undetected, watching over planets circling strange stars. Ahkam and Osjiic forces grind each other to space dust, the nearly crippled ships of the Osjiic fleeing from the overwhelming numbers of the Ahkam worshipers. The massive pale serpent of an Ahkam disappearing below the cloud cover of the planet the two fleets had fought over, blue blood glimmering in the darkness of the void.

Under an energetic blue star spins a world overgrown by massive foliage. A craft appears on your Eyegores sensors, approaching the planet and finally it catches sight of the ship. A capitol sized ship crafted from intertwining branches curled around massive engines drifts to the planet. The radiation scarred Eyegore could detect no transmissions from the living ship but on the planet a canopy slowly bends away to present a landing platform.

The binary star hosting the factories of the Osjiic receiving new visitors as a small fleet of Osjiic warships appears in a flash of Void energy. They dock with the refueling plants, the fleet consisting of a pair of battlecruisers and a host of sub-capitols. Your dutiful craft intercepts transmissions inquiring to the lost fleet of Sub-Admiral Estkri.

Completed Research:
>Dagger Powersuit: A sophisticated suit of mechanized armor that only Clanship Captain Krotur was honored enough to wear into battle. Underneath the emblems, medals and trophies of long ago victories was a suit that increased the wearers strength and speed greatly. Vacuum-sealed it could operate in the void of space, densely armored against weapons fire, an advanced jump-pack hidden under the ancient cloak and armed with an array of hidden weaponry. Thermal blasters mounted to each wrist, slots for thermal knives and various grenades with a launcher mounted on the shoulder.

>Razor-Wire Trap: A relatively simple but extremely dangerous trap. Spring loaded ribbons of razor-thin wire are coiled and tensed that when triggered whip out at opposing angles. The wires are partially magnetic and when they encounter a solid object curl in on themselves, tightening a net sharp enough to cut through most simple armors. Against flesh and bone the wires slice through like a thermal blade through cheap plastic, maiming easily and potentially proving deadly.

Unlocked:
Studying the Dagger Powersuit gives insight into improving your mechanized units, giving a slight boost to harvesting and combat capabilities.
Your Cauldrons and Think Tanks can now create simple powered exoskeletal supports for living minions.
>Simple Exoskeleton: A suit of armor resembling your standard chitin and bone armor powered and driven by miniature motors and metal musclestrands to give living minions a strength, speed and durability boost. Cost: 7M

Razor-Wire Traps can now be reproduced by the Think Tanks.
>Created Wire Bolas: By mimicking the constricting mechanics of the wires of the traps a solitary Think Tank has created a weapon that launches a bundle of metal and sinew wires. When impacting a target the wires whip out and constrict, tightening to restrict movement while preventing lethal injury. Cost: 4M

Fuckin Ya it's here!

Ok I want to see if we can make contact with the plant ship.
>>
>>44449662
Order all capital ships to begin firing upon the strange overgrown world. Have 150 of the nails go to keep other fighters at bay. Have 30 coffins and 10 support gunships with the rest of the nails swing around to the far side of the planet to attempt to land in secret.

No
No
No

Attempt contact first.
The masked said that there was a potential friend surprisingly close.
This might be them
>>
>>44450538
First contact is just a chance to ready their warships, we should strike while they think they are safe.
>>
>>44450002
We should let the living miners, there output is negligible and they can be put to better use as the start of a cult
>>
>>44450358
Lorgul and his two Disciples are hard at work with a Think Tank, designing and crafting their powerful craft. Void energy ripples around them as they shape bone as black as their armor around the large Void Screamer weapons. They appeared to be only Coffin sized but you could already see that most of their bulk was from the shields and Void Drives, not to mention the weapons sized for sub-capitols.

Agona watches over the Stonestar moon, a frigate transporting the weapons gained from attacking the Ahkam loyalists along with the caged captives. Her outposts fortified in the mountains surrounding her fortress, watchtowers erected discreetly on mountain peaks with Cyclops and Gargoyles roosting and waiting. Nails scout the surface of the moon, revealing the holy wars between the Stonestars to be a wide-spread conflict.

Nekris sits on his Corvette, staring at the stump of his wrist. Curiously he'd avoided growing a new one despite the offer from the Cauldron, instead focusing on fortifying the atoll island chain. Reconstructed swim through bright water and sail through the salty air. The local population of Kryssers either migrated or slain the local fish and cephalopod populations started to appear more often, ignoring the undead that swam among them.

Jor tends to the matters of the colony and your living minions, his frustration with their increasing complaints. Your soldiers had mostly moved on from supervising the living, turned to more pressing matters. A small group of the Reconstructed waited at Jors commands, the Voidsinger becoming the humans right-hand in dealing with the disgruntled Osjiic and Daggers.

There was much to do and tend to. Much to prepare for.

What shall you do?
>>

Ships done? If so send 5 to Nekris and Angona's locations to help secure the planets.

Capitol ship research should be complete by the time I run on Saturday mostly so I can finish them up

If you mean the frigates that were being constructed, yes. Five of them are disguised as Osjiic Frigates

Stop driving the living miners as slaves. We don't get much out of them. Give them a few days off and then start working on making a religion about us.

Frigates already crafted spool up their Skip Drives, disappearing in flashes of light then reappearing minutes later in the other system. On the surface of the moon the factories are turned to work once more, shaping and crafting a new order of ships in the image of the Dagger Pirates.

Your Eyegore watches at the large ship descends to the surface of the planet, landing on a large platform of wood. Roots extend from the craft to connect with the network of tree and large trunks, the hull of the craft "blossoming" as it extends branches, leaves unfurling to drink in the strange blue light of the star.

Your presence was a common sight at the mine, connected as it was to your fortified bunker underneath the mountain where you kept your trophies and original Cauldron. The miners hardly look up as you approach but jerk in surprise when you stop to motion for them to follow you.

Rounding up the miners in the main room you can feel their fear surging through the nails of black metal in their chests. You raise a skeletal hand, "Be at ease. If your life was desired I would've taken them long ago. I wish to congratulate and thank you for your service," their fear is quickly overwhelmed by confusion and you continue, "Your efforts in aiding me have been admirable but I realize I have been too harsh. My automatons and soldiers can continue your work easily enough. You may return to your friends and families at the colony."

The miners are silent as they stare up at the armored skeleton standing before them. You'd roll your eyes if you possessed any. Motioning to the open door where a Coffin waits idly with its bay door open, "The Necrotic Armada is a stronger force, thanks to your efforts. Return home and rest knowing you've helped me. In time you may be rewarded for your time. Speak to Jor and he'll get you accommodated."

They hesitate for several moments before the mix of dirty, tired humans, vorh, and kesh move to board the Coffin. They are swiftly transported to the colony where Jor waits for them with fresh food and clothing. Through Jors Stinger bodyguard you watch as the miners quickly realize their good fortune. Several are moved to tears in relief, others quick to feast and change.

Nodding in satisfaction you contact your two generals abroad. Images of Agona and Nekris flicker into being around you, kneeling in greeting. You lean back in your throne, tapping your claws together before speaking, "Lorgul will be upset to start without him but I have a task for you two. These Ahkam and their influence is a bothersome thing. You both will teach the natives the weakness of their false gods."

The two reconstructed generals, formed from the leaders of enemy fleets, look up to you ready and willing to fight at your command.

"Predator Nekris. You will destroy the shrines the Ructu have erected to them. Burn their idols and ruin their offerings. They will know the folly of their worship. Be discreet," you caution then point to your other general, "Punisher Agona, you will aid this...Lavafather. Assault the Ahkam worshipers, smash their altars and ravage their soldiers. The Stonestars will learn to fear us. Go now, make my will known."

They bow their heads, voices intoning, "Hail the Conquering Worm, Glory to the Necrotic Armada," before their images flicker away to carry out your will.

As night fell on Rukor and Ructu fishers sailed out to sea to harvest the oceans bounty Nails and Coffins lift off from their hiding spots underwater. They zip across the skies of the archipelago world, their engines muffled to avoid detection from the natives.

They each locate a village with the large Ahkam shrines and idols, hovering silent over them. Several were in the midst of celebration, ructu dancing and playing music as they laid bundles and jars of preserved food at the base.

At Nekris' command the ships open fire, unleashing salvos of missiles and necroflenser fire in unison. Screams and explosions replaced the drumming and horns in the night air. In the matter of a few brief seconds the Ahkam idols and their offerings are smoldering craters. Ructu natives are a frenzy as they panic and tend to the unfortunate caught in the blasts.

The ships depart quickly, Gargoyles staying behind to observe the aftermath.

On the moon large enough to be considered a planet Agona watches as her freshly constructed army loads into Coffins and Nails, departing for the warzones that began cropping up in recent days. Agona boards one of her newly arrived Frigates and lifts into the air.

Stonestar battles weren't hard to find, plains and canyons turned into slaughterfields where the stonestar loyalists clashed with the Ahkam worshipers. Their living weapons rained death on each side though Agona does note that only the Ahkam allied Stonestars fielded the large and dangerous lightning cannons.

Nails sweep past battles, launching salvos of missiles and weaponsfire to cripple the weapons of their targets, Coffins sweeping in afterwards to unload their warriors.

At first those loyalists of the Lavafather pulled back to watch in awe and confusion as the betrayers were ravaged by the sudden arrival of warriors from the sky. Soon though the loyalists began to press their attacks, grinding the Ahkam forces to paste between them and your reconstructed.

As Agona's forces attacked the armies she guided her frigate, the powerful turrets of the ship easily reducing the white stone idols of the Ahkam to molten stone or reducing them to gravel under a hail of metal.

You watch as your generals attack the poor disillusioned worshipers of the Ahkam. You almost wish the serpents themselves could feel the pain of the attacks.

I really hate to do this but I have to cut the thread short. Some things have arisen that require my immediate attention.

I will run tomorrow, possibly in this same thread if its still up.

Terribly sorry about this folks.

Feel free to plot and plan in my absence

>>
>>44453601
I don't blame him but it's really going to hurt how many players this quest will have
>>
>>44453739
Yeah worried about that too. We only hit six players tonight.

What is it with Grave and these emergencies
>>
>>44453765
>>44453739
I really hope this quest aint dead. Hoping next week he returns to his normal schedule
>>
>>44453765
For some reason every quest I've played has been plagued by interruptions from life.
I figure that the same kind of person that willing and able to run a good quest is also the kind of person to suffer from problems or people with problems who bother them
>>
>>44453858
He seems like he's too nice to say No to people IRL

Also on the subject of starting a cult. Should we have Jadyk show up personally to bless/baptize any newborns that might be born to his minions?
>>
>>44454360
Eventually there will be too many for personal appearance, instead grant each an item blessed by us
>>
I'm gonna guess that once the holidays are over Jyoti will go back to his schedule. He used to never miss a thread
>>
>>44455063
I just don't want to see the quest die
>>
>>44455145
I don't either.

Terribly sorry folks, had an emergency I had to help with. Grandpa was in a car accident. Thankfully only got a broken wrist and some whiplash

I'm planning on tomorrow for sure and definitely Saturday. From then on I should be back to my normal schedule.

I hope I haven't lost too many players because of this past month
>>
>>44455459
you have a very accident prone family or you're just lying.

Either way, just get better. we can only handle so much disappointment
>>
>>44455459
Just think of how disappointed QD must be
>>
No worries Grave (kinda fell asleep at the but anyways), take care of your gramps it's only Christmas once a year and it's been great to have you run around the holidays anyway.... Most other quests don't. I'd wager most of us that's been following you since Red throat is too chaught up in this too care about a few canceled moments. Shit happens. Sorry for long rant got a bit annoyed at people blaming you for seeing to your family when such an accident happens.
Have a happy new year!
