Down in the colony of Horizon's Drop your enslaved minions hold a subdued celebration for the return of the mining crew. Jor had told the colonists and former soldiers both Osjiic and Dagger that their tasks for the day were dismissed.

Herd-beast steaks and chicken were prepared alongside steamed root vegetables and sauteed kelp. Someone managed to find a few sealed crates of beer and liquor and the Daggers brought their own ship-brewed moonshine to the gathering.

There were even a few of the Osjiic grunts joining the gathering despite the protests their former commanders and more hardened veterans tried to put up. There was some tension between them and the Daggers but they knew better than to bring up old wounds.

Even Jor was able to walk among them for a short-time, the colonists for once not shooting him glares and begrudgingly including him in a few conversations. Among the news and gossip he gathered was that there was a human woman that was pregnant and nearing birth. The colonists had somehow managed to cover her shifts, hiding her from Jor and the cauldron-born soldiers but tongues were loosened by drink and good food.

You watch over the celebration idly, a Gargoyle perched in its roost on a pylon of atmosphere sensors. You could feel their anxieties and tensions ease as they ate, drank, and talked. While their normal fears were of little threat, you realize this release was much needed for your subjects.

The Eyegore scout watching the binary star dominated by the Osjiic watches as the fleet suddenly grows with the arrival of several of the surviving and injured craft from the battle with the Ahkam. Scorch marks and craters dot the heavily armored ships, several looking like they barely held together long enough to make the FTL trip and dock with the repair yards in the asteroid belt. Your spy still occasionally overhearing talk about tracking down Estkri's missing scout fleet.

On Rukor the sun rises to the sound of lamenting ructu villagers. The synchronized attack by Nekris and his ships had reduced the largest villages shrines and idols to charred craters, their offering turned to ash that drifted away in the wind. Gargoyles watch as they try their best to repair the damage but you can tell by their panic that they were frightened more by the lack of food offerings, the natives bringing out their own personal stocks of food to lay in the craters under hastily built effigies.

The volcanic moon was uncharacteristically calm, the Ahkam worshiping Stonestars remaining in their caverns while the Lavafather loyalists sweep away the altars and idolts crumbled under Agona's purge. They erect their circles of standing stones as Agona sends her forces to intervene in battles on distant parts of the moon. Even the Volcano that supposedly housed the Lavafather entity itself was calm, lava flows burbling calmly down cliffs.

Your ructu captives stare uneasily at the collection of five stonestars, the two groups unsure of what to make of each other as they sat in their cells silently. The ructu spending most of their time using the sigil carved stone that shows them hallucinations of space and its glories.

There was much to tend to and prepare for. What shall you do?

I will. Right now I'm making a bunch of cookies to take to everyone tomorrow

>>44471617
This could work. But we should send nekris aswell to instill some terror in them? do we have any sunscale corpses left? Litter them everywhere to show them that they are abandoned
>>
>>44471702
Do you mean send Nekris with the Ructu or to the plant planet?
>>
>>44471890
No I meant the ructu planet. Have him subtly show them that the lizards are dead
>>
>>44471593
Do you wish to speak to the Ructu before sending them back?

>Initiate contact with Plant controlled planet with Eyegore transmission
>Y/N?

>>44471985
The Ructu did not know the lizards were even on their planet.

The Sunscale Lizards are at war with the Ahkam and their recovered journals showed they were scouting the world because of the Ahkam presence.

Of course we'll speak with the ructu first. Tell them to be carefull, not all may be so easily swayed by knowledge... We don't want another civil war to deal with

These beings that manipulated plant matter on a scale grander than you ever had with flesh and chitin intrigued you. Their very technology seemed based around the large tree-like growths. Curious to know more about them and why they stayed on a planet blasted by powerful radiation your Eyegore drifts closer to the planet.

There were no ships in orbit, only the two on the surface entwined with the massive trees. Several of the trees were shaped into dishes of rippled wood pointed at the star as the planet rotated and there were two large landing platforms for the living ships.

Your Eyegore sends out a series of messages across various channels in various languages known to you and your minions, a simple short "Hello. Peaceful contact desired. Request identity," hoping they would be able to decode the message.

There is silence for a long time before a radio signal crackles from the surface, distorted by the radiation of the star. It was a simple written message in the common trade language the Confederacy and Pirate clans used.

"You are intruding in Armatocere territory. Identify immediately." On the surface your Eyegore catches sight of the smaller of the craft, withdraw its limbs and leaves, roots detaching from its platform but it only remains at the ready.

How should you respond to this?
>>
>>44472953
Just an exploration ship wishing to meet races never before encountered. We are an Eyegore scout vessel in service of Lord Jad.
>>
>>44473060
This! The eyegore doesn't have any armaments does it? Just act friendly and ask for nothing more than an exchange of hello's
>>
>>44472953
Your captive Ructu are released from their cell by a troll with armor blacked and scorched from it's encounter with the Sunscale worker and it's rather spectacular death. It guides them to the surface, the crustaceans in awe as they look across the valley as the red sun rises in the distance. Cliff-jumper herds had begun to return now that you no longer relied on hunting them, the hexapodal creatures leaping impressive heights in search of tough grasses and shrubs.

The trolls motions for them to board the waiting Coffin, handing the eldest of the fishers the sigil carved dreamstone. The ructu takes the sphere and boards the ship, starting to speak excitedly with the others as the doors close and the craft lifts off to join up with a frigate to make the jump.

Once above Rukor the Coffin descends, carrying them near to where you'd initially rescued them. Awaiting them was a Stinger with a carepackage for them. The bodies of several gutted kryssers lay wrapped in large leaves with several stringers of squids and eels. To their delight is a large batch of the kelp they had grown to quite enjoy in their time in your prison.

The Stinger points to the pile of trees already cut down, telling them in your voice to return to their people. It points to the dreamstone pulsing in the hands of the eldest, "Show your leaders the knowledge I have given you. Share with them the truth. The Ahkam are monsters and must be resisted. This knowledge is the first of my gifts. Keep your conviction, brave ructu. Rukor deserves better than serpents."

The fishers nod and turn to begin construction of a raft to transport themselves and the sudden bounty of food back to their home village, a moderately sized one that had suffered through an attack from Nekris. The elder runs its hand across the surface of the dreamstone and you can feel his determination steeling.

Your Eyegore grows a little nervous but keeps itself calm with your gaze upon it. It transfers another signal in response.

"I am an unarmed exploration craft. I search for new stars and new races to meet. I am an Eyegore in the service of Lord Jadyk. I mean no harm," The Eyegore speaking with your words to give the illusion of sophisticated thought.

There is silence as the message is transferred and your answer arrives as the smaller ship, the size of a cruiser, departs the surface of the world en route for the eyegore. The scout shudders in fear, the mass of eyes twitching and darting but it eventually receives a new message as the ship drift at a lazy pace for it.

"We have no records of a Lord Jadyk. This system is a vital research asset to us. We are transmitting coordinates for a neutral system for more thorough introductions," a set of coordinates to a relatively nearby star arrives before the message continues, "Your craft is to leave this system or be viewed as an act of aggression."

The ship drifts into weapons range as bark armor of the ship peel back to reveal a series of holes in the hull. The shields flickering into being with a nearly opaque green light around the ship, distorting your sensors from reading the craft.

How shall you respond?
>>
>>44473577
This exploration craft will leave. It will take some time before my lord will move however. How long do we have?
>>
>>44473577
Leave and arrange a meeting
Send Jor to ensure good first contact
>>
>>44473577
Ask who controls the system after she answers thank her then leave
>>
>>44473577
Your Eyegore gladly charges its engine as it transfers the last of its message, "I am leaving as commanded. It will take time but an envoy will be dispatched. Is this system populated?" it asks as a last second, its engines idling

The treeship shimmers behind it's thick shield, a message arriving shortly, "Uninhabited and uncontrolled. Neutral space," it replies shortly.

Your Eyegore surrounds itself in a ripple of Void energy, twisting the light around it as it departs for Horizon's Drop. They had given a time for the meet along with the coordinates, set for the next day.

You clack your talons together as you plan, sitting deep in your fortress.

Who do you send and how do you prepare for this meeting?

(sorry for delay, had to make dinner. Eggs and bagels)
