Your hand rests on a large sphere of dormant necrotic energy. Sending a spark of power into the core ignites the engine and the Think Tank connected to the craft shudders into being. It's mind, new and naive, reaches out to it's kind, drinking in knowledge as it took command of the ship.

Lights slowly illuminate as power surges through the ship, systems coming online one by one. The battlecruiser's engines thrum with power, lunar dust blowing away as the craft lifts from the surface of the moon. Cables detach and drop with small puffs of gas, weapon mounts swiveling and testing their range of motion.

You step onto the bridge of the first of your new capitol ships, a large wall of holographic light giving an illusion of a glass windshield. Cyclopean pilots, merged at the waist to consoles and controls maintain the systems, several sitting in pods that swivel as they controlled the targeting of the weapons turrets.

The Think Tank spins in it's cradle, going through a list of system checks before pausing. It's mind, joyous and excited at the chance to be the first of your capitol ships, reaches out to yours, <This one is ready to serve. Hail the Conquering Worm!> the words echoed through the reconstructed crew members and those in construction yards.

You nod in satisfaction, sitting down on a throne of muscle and bone. It was a start.

Your shadow will reach out among the stars, evil growing in its wake. All will serve, the dead and the living.

Hail the Conquering Worm and the New Necrotic Armada

Completed Research:

>Capitol Ships: By extensively studying the Daggers Clanship and digging through the memories of sacrificed engineers and technicians, along with extensive testing and prototypes your Think Tanks can now create Capitol class ships.

>Javelin Launcher: One of the Stonestars living battleweapons this large gastropod hides under a dome shaped shell pock-marked with holes. By inflating several lung-like organs it can propel a volley of javelins made of a chitin-like material. These projectiles are not produced by the creature itself, but rather crafted by stonestars and surgically implanted through a hatch of thick scar-tissue surgically carved to allow reloading in the midst of combat.

>Diver Plant: Taken from the Sunscale Divers, the dried plant was studied while the seeds were germinated and grown using the lizards own instructions. The plant was a seagrass that grew in long clumps possessing narcotic and minor hallucinogenic properties. When air-dried naturally or dehydrated for quicker consumption, the plant is then ground up. The dried plant is typically incinerated with the smoke inhaled much like the human staple of tobacco. Divers held a religious reverence for the plant and it's properties, prayers associated with the plant speaking of it's power to hold back the influence of the Sadism the Divers were perpetually cursed with.

Long ranged these javelins can be fired in an arc to rain down from above or aimed at a medium distance for direct fire into enclosed spaces. In vacuum or zero-g the weapons can only be fired in a straight line. Cost: 5M

Unlocked:
>Narcotikelp: By mixing the Divers seagrass with your modified kelp you've created a moderately fast growing plant. When the dried plant is burned the smoke gives a euphoric and calming effect to most species with high doses causing minor hallucinations. The Necrotic corruption in the plant allows Jadyk to hold greater sway over the minds of those under its effects. Minorly addictive.
>Narcotikelp Vat: A vat of specially mixed water and necrotic fluid promoting the growth of a Narcotikelp crop. Plants grow slower than the normal kelp, reaching harvest size every three days. Cost: 8B 4M

Your Eyegore appears with a small flash of light as the void energy around it dissipates at the end of it's trip home. It drifts down to the surface of the moon and lands in the grasp of armatures among the ship construction site. It's radiation scorched hull detached and replaced with fresh plates of bone and metal while it drink down it's fuel of hydrogen and necrotic fluid.

These Armatocere expected the presence of you or a representative at the location your Eyegore had exposed and risked itself to gain. The coordinates were for a system several jumps away by Skip Drive but there was still time to prepare for this meeting.

Elsewhere your Eyegores watch distant systems. Ahkam and Osjiic fleets repairing and rearming their damaged ships. The investigatory fleet sent to search for Sub-Admiral Estkri, now your General Agona, and her fleet delaying their search to reinforce the system in the event of a retaliatory attack from the serpents forces.

Nail run patrols in the night skies of the world Rukor, attacking any attempt at raising another idol or shrine to the Ahkam. Secretive Gargoyles watch as the ructu natives panic grows with each attack but still they tried to leave offerings of their own food for their overlords.

Your controlled Ructu, the eldest carrying the dreamstone, arrive to their village with mixed reactions from excitement and disbelief to downright scorn and disinterest in the face of their current trial. Few of the natives questioned the bounty the four had brought with them, the eldest told to meet with the village elders that night. He ran a hand across the runes of the dreamstone, ready to show them the truth of their oppressors.

Lorgul remains hard at work with his Disciples, crafting the ships the Voidknight claims will be a symbol of the Reborn Voidknight Order.

The Think Tanks in control of the construction yards yearn for your orders, ready to turn their attention to the tasks of creating your fleets.

Creating
>40 support dropships- 600B 3960M
>20 chariots- 200M
Total: 600B 4160M

Agona and Nekris were overseeing their tasks when the Eyegore stationed in the system starts to blare an alarm, desperate for their attention.

They both happened to be within their command ships directing their forces, their screens flashing to show the view from a remote satellite over the world of Rukor. What appeared to be a stormcloud of all things began to accumulate and form out of the nothingness of the void. Dark clouds billowed and swelled as lightning flashed with strobe light frequency.

The ructu underneath the event fell to the ground as they notice the storm brewing in the night sky, their shouts a mix of dismay and religious relief.

There was a large burst of radiation and from within the storm a fleet of ships emerged. A motley assortment of frigates and corvettes surround a Destroyer capitol ship, its hull a jagged mockery of an insect pockmarked and scorched from battle. Fighter craft detach from the hulls and circle the ships as they float over the planet.

Nekris hurriedly grounds his ships and Agona sends commands to the mining operations in the asteroid belt to withdraw to their base built into the protoplanet the Entropic Excavators were hollowing out.

A pair of corvettes descend on the planet, a cloud of dropships surrounding it as they glow in the atmosphere.

The forces of the Ahkam have arrived over the planet Rukor. To your relief they appear ignorant of Nekris' location on the planet or of his presence all together for the moment.

The Ahkam ships descend and split up, dropships pairing off to approach the largest of villages. Your controlled ructu watch with dread welling up in them as a pair of ships land just outside the village walls. The craft were not as well crafted as your own or even the Daggers but they bore their battlescars proudly.

Gargoyles hidden among the trees watch other villages as the sub-capitol ships hover ominously overhead. The dropship doors open and groups of mixed aliens emerge armored and carrying weapons. Several wore full-bodied armor while others simple plates of metal and ceramic strapped to them, an insignia of a twisting white serpent marking their gear and ships.

There were a few humans and vorh among their ranks with their ranks consisting mostly of a bulky humanoid race that looked a mix of arthropod and reptilian. Several unknown reptilians smaller and more uniform than the Sunscales guide large platforms that hover over the ground.

Soldiers approach the elders and immediately start shouting about the blasphemy of the destroyed shrines and altars. They begin to demand the "required tribute and tithes" with the elders hastily trying to explain their misfortune. Your controlled ructu recoiling as an armored soldiers swings a thermal sword through the torso of one of the stout ructu, kicking the bleeding creature away.

The scene is much the same across the villages, Ahkam soldiers rounding up every scrap of food the villages could scrounge together. There was some dissent but all was quickly subdued with violent force.

Nekris sits in his corvette, his ships and bunker withdrawn under the water and sands of their atoll to remain hidden. He contacts you along with Agona, requesting your orders.

How shall you respond to this new development?

Start deploying strike craft and drop ships full of troops but only within the planet's atmosphere. Ambush the Akham on the planet and when they counter lead them into a trap, try to bog them down in it. While we keep them busy there we can have a ship or two covertly dump a bunch of crit crawls onto their fleet in orbit, and when they get ready to either bombard the planet or send reinforcements to it we send in our fleet and detonate the crit crawls.

Before you had been alerted to the sudden threat of the Ahkam fleet you had been speaking to Jor and the Voidsinger both through a Stinger proxy, telling them they would be your representatives in an introduction to a new faction.

The Voidsinger stoically accepts the task while Jor asks just who this new faction was. They both frown as they learn of the Armatocere and their control over plants.

Plant and tree-based ships had always been a rumor, Jor thought. Spacer tales and stellar legends. The Voidsinger says the Osjiic had short records of violent encounters with a ships that appeared to be grown from vast trees fighting their forces to standstills.

You tell them to prepare themselves for the meeting, giving them permission to speak with the Think Tanks to get them equipped. They should make a decent first impression as your representatives after all.

Jor requests:

How do you wish to begin your campaign against them?

Nekris' base is secluded in an atoll a good distance away from any ships in the atmosphere but there is a chance those in orbit will detect any large ship attempting to travel. Nails, Coffins, and Chariots can move comfortably if slowly underwater.

Small craft like dropships, coffins, and nails don't possess FTL engines. They have to piggyback on the hulls of large ships.

Let's just say a Bloat ship can transport 10 Coffins, Support Coffins, or Nails docked with their hulls.

You turn to the screen showing Nekris seated in his command chair rubbing the stump where his lesser hand was once. They glance up, feeling your eyeless gaze even from lightyears away.

"Tell me, my Predator. How would you suggest we deal with this complication?" you ask, leaning back in the chair on board your battlecruiser.

Nekris is silent for several minutes as he looks over the maps and locations of the Ahkam troops.

Gargoyles report that the troops are upset about the meager offerings, several village elders being struck down as an example. Truly though they seemed most upset about the fact that something has attacked the idols specifically. The gargoyles overhear them mention Sunscale or Confederate interference but they can't agree.

Finally Nekris looks to you, his whisper of a voice speaking firm, "We wait for the moment, let them punish and anger the locals. Let them grow complacent and attempt to search for the attackers. I will prepare and attack, abducting the stragglers. We will strike and hurt them. Make them believe it is the Divers. They have much history it seems, a believable scapegoat," the Predator goes silent, looking for your approval.

Agona's frigates and corvettes discreetly depart with their Void Drives heading to Horizons Drop to recover and transport a waiting flight of Support Coffins.
>Did you wish to make any Crit Crawlers of either the EMP or Explosive variety to stock the Support Coffins?

Nekris stands from his chair to bow, his cloak sweeping forward to cover him before he moves to command his forces deep in his bunker. The Cauldron churns and soon the first of the newest Stalkers and Shadows emerged hauling new weaponry for the conflict.

You were watching as events set into motion when you notice that Lorgul had boarded the battlecruiser and was heading for the bridge. Nodding a greeting as he enters, "Greetings Lord Jadyk, I want to..." the voidknight trails off, looking at the screens to absorb the situation.

He snorts a laugh and turns to face you, his flaming skull a rictus grin, "The Void smiles upon me. I had come to inform you that my task is complete. And to show off the results," he says with a small laugh, motioning for you to follow.

Hovering just above the pale surface of the moon was a coffin sized craft of great power.

Rocket shaped the craft was built around three powerful Void-Screamer weapons and a large Void Drive. Six Chain-Flenser turrets spaced around the craft with only a pair of auxiliary Necroflensers. A small compact shield shimmers around it as Lorgul approaches the craft, the front end splitting open to swallow him inside.

Void flames leak from the seams of the black armored ship, the unreflective surface blending into the darkness of space. Joining him were the two Disciples, piloting their own versions of the strikecraft.

Lorgul has created the Void Terror strikecraft
>Void Terror
>4 Troll Bodyguards
>3 Fixed Void Screamers
>6 Chain-Flenser Turrets
>2 Necroflenser Auxiliary
>Shields
>Void Drive

The Void Terror is a fast small craft slightly smaller than a dropship. Focused around raw destructive power based on the devastating Void-Screamer weapons supported by powerful secondary weapons the craft can possibly stand up to sub-capitols or even prove a danger to capitol ships with is incredible speed and small size. The craft holds enough space to house four troll bodyguards should the pilot need to make land-fall or board a larger ship.

Lorgul claims the Void Terror will become the new symbol and elite weapon of the new Voidknight order, each of their number piloting these new ships to bring ruin to your enemies.

The majority Ahkam fleet remains in orbit while a pair of Corvettes descends to set up a base of operation.

They settle for the largest of the Ructu villages, a metropolis of clay and wooden buildings built at the base of a natural pier that houses the many boats that the populace used. The two ships land in the charred crater where the largest idol to the Ahkam has stood, a massive tree painstakingly carved to look like the coiled serpent. Nekris had personally incinerated the idol with his corvette from high in the sky.

Stout fighters started to patrol the skies while dropships bristling with troops set up small outposts on the fringes of various villages. The Ructu already suffering from their visitors proclaiming a sort of martial law that the various aliens used to take advantage of their hosts.

Aquatic reconstructed stalk the waters, Nails slipping through the currents as they carefully track the air traffic.

Shadows lift silently from the water in the dark of night, hauling crates with the razor-wire traps. They creep silently, drifting above the jungle and marsh floors as they near the small outposts. Traps are set near their camps, aimed low to main their legs as they walked past.

A group of aquatic talons and stalkers shadow a patrol of aliens walking along a shore of a river. Talons darting out to fire their bolas as stalkers leap to drag the ambushed aliens into the water and waiting Coffin.

The first night for the Ahkam forces is a bloody event. Deep in your bunker the captured are contained in a recently created prison, sea water lapping to the knees of the captives. Razor-wire traps and venomous Cyclops maiming and ruining the soldiers but avoiding taking their lives.

By morning the Eyegore overhears the transmissions as outposts with reduced crew report in. Accusations of local resistance and Diver interference taking the forefront. It seemed the Ahkam forces had come into conflict many times before with Sunscale inspired rebellion.

>28 Ahkam soldiers (8 Epikor, 7 Tyrre, 7 Kosda, 3 Human, 3 Kesh)

Nekris looks over his captives, walking on the surface of the water the prisoners have to slosh through as they charge at the bars as he passes. They shout at him and try to reach out at him, the captives shouting alien curses after him. He waves a hand idly as he departs the prison.

A Think Tank drifts silently after him, the prisoners going quiet as they spot the sphere of twisted black metal orbited by an array of metal spikes. A moment later and the captives fall back, shouting, splashing and retching as they are each impaled by a domination spike.

The Ahkam fleet responds to the nights attacks by sending another pair of Corvettes to the surface, the ships patrolling the sky above the villages with a guard of fighters. It's shadow falls on disgruntled ructu natives, the presence of the loud craft affecting their fishing now that they were allowed out at daybreak. The ructu natives did most of their fishing at night but the Ahkam forces had disrupted the nights tasks. Now they were even speaking of a curfew because of the nights attacks and abductions.

Your ructu minions try their best to appear unremarkable. The one that held the dreamstone sending discreet messages to the elders of their village to meet with them that night in secret.

Because of recent events you had not paid much attention to the Plainsrunners, letting Red-Leaf-Strains to her own devices. You turn your gaze to her and are impressed with her progress. Her sisters had finally caved and began to experience the Dreamstones gifts. Their migration slowed as they spent longer the last few days using the stone.

They began to speak of sharing the knowledge with other herds, not wanting to hold back these gifts. It was a juvenile Osogo that surprised the elder trio, suggesting they go to meet the colonists they'd seen in their visions.

Jor and the Voidsinger are fitted and equipped with their new gear, testing out the exoskeletons and weaponry. Jor was not a warrior but he appreciates the power he felt in the powered armor. You can feel his pride as he looks at himself in a mirror, the helm snapping shut around his head and sealing. Decorative trappings are made at his suggestions, the armor mostly hidden under what he considered to be a regal cape of dark red and gray much like Nekris' cloak.

You have much to do. How shall you proceed?

Dissection results:
>Epikor: Slightly taller than the average human these tanned humanoids resembled mammalians with little to no hair beyond patches of stiff quills along their limbs. They saw in a mix of visual and thermal imaging but had an aversion to bright lights with eyes slow to adjust to sudden changes in light. Their visors of darkened plastic allowing them to work in conditions that would normally leave them blinded. These warriors were equipped with more advanced armor and weaponry than most of their comrades, carrying grenades and heavy repeaters or heavy blasters. Their tough skin was oddly cold, hardly appearing in the thermal gaze of Talon guards.

>Tyrre: A species resembling a mix of insectoid and reptilian they were actually repto-mammalian similar to the harpoon-beasts of Horizons Drop. A powerful race with a tough hide and shell-like flexible armor. Predatory they relied on rushing their enemy and using their brute strength to overpower and crush their foes. They wore thick but simple armor lacking the refinement of the Epikors. They possessed a sophisticated endocrine system with several over-sized adrenal glands. The captives quickly recover from the pain and shock of the domination spikes to attack the bars of the cage in a blind rage that requires paralytic venom to subdue.

>Kosda: A reptilian race slightly shorter than the average human they had thick gray and brown scales with stout powerful claws. They possessed a powerful sense of smell and taste, relying on their noses and sensitive tongues to track chemical trails in the air. They seemed to be oddly intelligent, observation showing them tending to the ships and weapons or serving as medics to those injured by cyclops or razor trap.

Unlocked:
>Coldskin: The Epikor skin resists appearing on thermal imaging, directing their body heat through a complex circulatory system to cool themselves. Reconstructed soldiers and ships are now harder to appear on thermal imaging and detection while not exerting themselves or at rest.

>Berserker Gland: The Tyrre adrenal glands are easily replicated in reconstructed soldiers. Units can now enter a berserker state that causes them to move faster and hit harder in melee, able to ignore damage that would cause others to flinch or hesitate. Berserk units will continue to attack until their target is dead or they themselves are destroyed. The intensely physical demands of the Berserker state means a unit can only enter the state once a day and must enter a hibernation to recuperate afterwards. Cost: 3B

>Trackers: Scent tracking senses have been drastically increased in potency.

You recognize the potential the new crop of the Narcotikelp could aid your rise in power. The Wormstar Choir was often treated to psychotropic "gifts" to increase their connection to the Wormstar and Jadyk.

In the same underground facility that was full of your Catoblepas and the Kelp Vats used to feed them and your minions the Diggers begin to expand the operation. Talons haul out the frames of low vats and glass, assembling them as soil and water from the oceans are collected by Coffins and brought to the mountain.

The first seeds of the crop are planted, Talons walking between the long low aquariums in the first room. This first crop would have to be devoted to further growing the farms until the vast order could be completed.

Punisher Agona contacts you, requesting your attention. Her image appears on the wall of your mountain fortress, the large warrior standing in the control room of her own bunker.

She kneels, offering praise to the Necrotic Armada before standing once more then speaks in her rumbling voice, "In light of the Ahkams visit to Rukor, they are likely to pay a visit here to check on their Stonestar worshipers. They know of us, they'd face us in battle and seen our warriors. The stonestars know we are not Lavafather creations or Sunscale and the Ahkam will know this should they arrive," she pauses, letting you soak in the information.

Tapping your talons together for a few moments you motion for her to continue and she bobs her horned head, "I wish to know your orders should they appear. I highly doubt they can see through the storm layer. There is also the matter of the Lavafather. Should I inform them of the return of Ahkam forces in the system or keep silent for now?"

What shall you do?

Send 60 nails and 20 coffins to Agona's moon and wait in hiding for the Akham to show up. If we can coordinate the strikes on the Akham ships above the volcano world and the Ructu's world we could destroy the entire fleet in this solar system in one go.

So i had a crazy idea for a specialized defensive ship.

Terrordrome: A semispherical half-dome sub-capitol ship that is focused on defensive measures and guarding an area. These half-dome ships can land on a planet or asteroid to provide anti-air support. In space two of them can combine to form a sphere to provide all around cover. Would be mostly turrets and auxiliary and missiles with a hangar for holding nail fighters. While combined they would have increased shields too

On the Stonestar Moon Agona lays out plans for an Anti-air network should the Ahkam forces decide to pay a visit. Similar to the moon of Rukor she orders a large web of concealed cannon and tower placements to be constructed across the mountain tops.
>Created 10 Advanced AA towers and 30 AA towers

With her forces busy at work she boards her coffin, the craft sailing through the air towards the volcano. She lands and approaches the same large pool of glowing magma she'd initially made contact with the servant of the Lavafather.

She stands on the shore, watching through the wavering air the bubbling and twisting surface of the lava. The soles of her armored boots charring from the intense heat the stone radiated. A telekinetically tossed rock similar to before gets the desired reaction. The hump of something moving through the molten stone approaching her slowly then halting.

"Punisher Agona. You approach us once more," the droning voice states, "Why?" it asks simply

How should she reply and what should she tell it?

"I bring a message of warning. Ahkam forces have appeared in the system. A small fleet orbits a world, terrorizing its inhabitants. My brother in arms is already engaged with their forces. We have not seen an Ahkam itself in the system just yet. They may pay a visit to this moon," she motions vaguely in the direction of her fortress, "I am already in the process of creating defenses."

The Lavafathers servant is silent for a while as if digesting the information but then the voice speaks out, "We thank you for the warning. We shall prepare for the return of the Ahkam and their fleets."

Agona bows her head respectfully, unsure if the entity could even see or understand the gesture, "My lord wishes to know if the forces of the Lavafather will aid us in our conflict with the Ahkam worshipers."

The mound in the lava shifts from side to side for a few moments, "We have no spacecraft. Trapped on this world," it pauses then adds, "For now," the entity pulled back slightly, "We will be prepared to aid should they make landfall. To our luck they are unable to penetrate the stormlayer but the Ahkam themselves are able to transport themselves into the atmosphere."

Agona would've frowned if she could, her face an impassive mask of thick bone.

Anything else to speak of with the entity before wrapping up for the night?
>>
>>44538149
Were you once a traveler of the stars, have you clashed with the Akham elsewhere?
>>
>>44538149
Before Agona departed for her fortress to prepare there was something nagging at her about the words of the Lavafathers servant, "One last thing. Were you or the Lavafather a traveler of the stars? Did you clash with the Ahkam before you came to be here?"

There is a long silence but eventually it answers, "I myself, this servant was created on this world from this world. The Lavafather was once a traveler like yourself but without a name. A being of great power before being betrayed and struck down, imprisoned in the heart of the volcano. The Lavafather took their name as they began to gain power over their prison and created it's servants and guardians. Now it protects the Stonestars from themselves and alien warlords."

The Punisher gives a bow to the mount, "Thank you for trusting me with this information. My forces shall prepare for their coming. I shall send word if they appear to be on their way for this moon."

"We thank you, Agona," the voices says before the entity disappears into the depths of the lavapool.
