Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place in the years Frieza controlled Planet Vegeta, as the Saiyans grow in strength and try to find a way to free themselves.

Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.

Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)

During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.

If a 100 is rolled, it is considered a crit success (unless 100 was the number you had to match).

If a 1 is rolled, it is a crit failure, regardless of whether or not the other two rolls are high enough to succeed.

If, during a battle, players want to attempt a writein action, that is allowed, but I am the one who will assign the number to it, so use caution

You're a young male Saiyan who fought in the war with the Tuffles. You've become one of the most powerful Saiyans in the universe, but there's still potential for you to grow stronger.

The flight to Planet Vegeta has been one of mixed emotions.

On the one hand, everyone is thrilled to have finally defeated Frieza, and succeeded on the mission you set out to complete years ago. On the other, many feel saddened by the loss of not only Rugula, but the others that perished during your time roaming the cosmos.

"We'll be arriving on Planet Vegeta in two minutes," Kamatsuna says from the controls. "King Vegeta will be expecting us."

He seems surprised that you've asked this so bluntly, but doesn't avoid the question. He sighs, gives a small shrug, and answers.

"I'm going to miss her," he admits. "And not just because it was fun to watch you and her go back and forth. She was a good warrior and comrade."

He glances in the direction of Bardock. "But, at least so far our team's only lost one."

"Well, we beat Frieza," you remind him. "What do you plan on doing now?"

He seems confused by the question. "What do you mean? I'll go where the team goes."

You ask Kamatsuna to scan Planet Vegeta and search for the highest power level.

"There are three higher than any others," she tells you after a moment. "One at eight thousand, one at ten thousand, and one at twelve thousand."

You assume King Vegeta to be the highest of those, and begin to laugh. Kamatsuna gives you a bewildered look, as does Soko.

"What?" he asks.

"Soko, you realize we're Super Saiyans, right?" you ask him. "The first in a thousand years."

"Yeah," he responds.

"We've reached heights way beyond what we ever dreamed of back in the village where we grew up," you say. "So, I've got something rather blunt to ask. Even though you've realized the legend, will you bow before King Vegeta?"

He's silent for a moment before giving a disinterested shrug. "The way I see it, you're still a lot stronger than I am. So, I'm just gonna go with whatever you choose. Wanna keep working for the king? That's fine. Wanna take over? That's fine too. You're the leader. Make a choice, and I'll follow."

I suggest we don't backstab King Vegeta and become the very traitors Frieza was always afraid of.

All the same, I'd remind the king that he's now got two Super Saiyans under his command and should probably make sure he rules benevolently for the sake of all Saiyans, rather than trying any sort of despotism that the rest of us are all expected to go along with because he's the strongest.

It's not really backstabbing. Saiyan culture demands that the stronger must rule. The king is no longer the strongest and has lost his right to sit on the throne. It's simple as that. We don't necessarily need to kill him. Just let him see our power and give him the chance to relinquish power peacefully. I doubt he'd accept but it's important we give him the chance.

Kamatsuna lets you know that the ship is landing, and you soon disembark onto a landing pad where a large group of well-dressed Saiyans are waiting for you. At the front of the group is Zorn, who bows his head as you step onto the platform.

"Welcome back," he says respectfully. "King Vegeta awaits you in his throne room. If you'll come with me, he was most insistent that you arrive as quickly as possible."

"You know, you've always had a really nice cape," you tell Zorn as he leads you toward the palace.

You can't see his expression, but he sounds amused when he says "Thanks."

You're led to the palace, and soon come to a large set of doors.

Zorn opens them and steps back, allowing you and the others to enter before shutting them behind you.

You spot King Vegeta at the bottom of the stairs that lead to his throne. He seems nervous for some reason, and his voice even sounds somewhat shaky when he speaks.

"Daikon, you've returned," he says as you and the other Saiyans approach. "So Frieza has been destroyed at last."

King Vegeta grins. "It finally happened. I was beginning to think I'd never see the day. But you've proven that nobody will make slaves of the Saiyans."

"And that the Saiyans can produce better warriors then I thought," a voice says from atop the stairs.

Looking up, you see two figures. One is sitting on King Vegeta's throne, the other is standing to the left of it.

The person who's sitting is purple in color, and resembles a large, shaved cat. He wears a smug look on his face as he stares down at you and the other Saiyans.

The other figure is tall and oddly dressed, with light blue skin, white hair, and a staff clutched in his hand.

"And I'm Whis," the blue-skinned man chimes in.

"I was just visiting your king when I heard that you'd defeated Frieza," Lord Beerus explains, rising from the throne and putting his hands behind his back. "For a Saiyan to defeat Frieza, that's an unexpected occurrence."

He begins walking down the steps, eyes scanning you and the others.

"Hmm...I don't believe that even together you'd stand a chance at defeating Frieza," he comments, rubbing his chin. "You don't have nearly enough power."

Whis gives an amused smirk, while Beerus waits for an explanation, looking more irritated by the second.

"He wasn't a very good technical fighter, and was incredibly overconfident," you explain.

"Yes, he was always so self-important," Lord Beerus agrees. "Had we crossed paths again, I would have gladly wiped the entitled little bugger out."

You explain that you and Soko had a transformation that multiplied your powers, and that, with sacrifice and some luck, you and the others were able to defeat Frieza.

"A transformation you say?" Beerus asks, sounding only mildly interested. "I take it you aren't referring to those ape-creature Saiyans can turn into."

You offer to show it to him, but warn that it might be better to do it outside.

Lord Beerus yawns. "Alright, I suppose I can take a look, but then I want to get home."

He glances over his shoulder. "Vegeta!"

"Y-yes, Lord Beerus?" the king asks.

"I think I'll return next year," Lord Beerus tells him. "You can present me with my feast then. And remember, I want the most comfortable pillow on this world for my seat when that day comes."

"Y-yes, Lord Beerus," King Vegeta says.

"Hey, enough talking," Lord Beerus cuts in. "Just get on with it already."

You concentrate, digging to the power hidden deep inside you. You think of the rage you felt when Sabi was hurt, of what happened to Rugula. You remember the sensation of strength, of invincibility.

You let out a yell and let it rush to the surface. Your muscles expand even further, and sparks dance around you. The ground cracks beneath you, and you find yourself sinking into an ever-growing crater. Chunks of rock are ripped up and disintegrated, and there's a bright flash as you let out a final yell.

King Vegeta stares at you, wide-eyed and slack-jawed.

"Well, you Saiyans certainly have a flair for dramatic transformations," Whis comments.

Lord Beerus still doesn't look impressed. "Well, I guess if Frieza was holding back, this might have been enough to defeat him."

The others seem quite confused as to why Lord Beerus and Whis are so dismissive of your powers. And you can't help but wonder just how powerful they are.

Lord Beerus yawns. "Well, guess we'd better get going. Vegeta! I changed my mind about the pillow."

King Vegeta gives him a confused look.

"I want the most comfortable pillow in the entire universe," Lord Beerus informs him.

"Yes, Lord Beerus," Vegeta says, bowing his head.

"Now let's go, Whis," Lord Beerus hollers.
