You are Siris Erickson, and you are a mutant. This is hardly surprising, considering both of your parents are mutants, and you grew up surrounded by mutants. Despite being somewhat of a late bloomer with your powers, the leaders of the Xavier Institute saw incredible potential in you and your abilities. With the ability to control the wavelength and frequency of light, as well as emit light from your body, you could theoretically do incredible things, although that is currently limited to a limited control over the light in the surrounding area and the ability to concentrate light into a laser. Both of which tend to give you painful headaches, and you can only do those with the help of a specially created suit. You were accepted into the Xavier Institute mid-year despite the late arrival of your powers, and you have been accepted into the Paragons squad.

Your brother, Lewis has gotten wrapped up in some bad stuff. For a while, he’s been selling some new drug called Toad Juice for Frankie Zapruder, all while dating the daughter of Zapruder’s rival, Daniel Kaufman. Recently, he’s gone missing, all while Kaufman started selling Toad Juice. You and your squad headed for Mutant Town to search for the truth of what happened to your brother. Currently, you’re making your way into Zapruder’s turf to try and get answers.

You want to say more to Pixie, but you’re cut off by the sudden shout from Guido, “Get down!” You and your squad dive for cover as a car pulls up, and a man leans out the window with a gun, firing a few shots at you. He’s cut off, however, as Guido charges through the gunfire and slams into the car, tipping it onto it’s side. He rips both the driver and the gunman from the car, tossing them over to where you and your squad are. He steps away from the burning wreckage, giving you a grin. “You’d think at some point the bad guys would stop shooting at the big buff guy.”

After a little bit, you, Guido, and Match manage to get your attackers set up in an alley out of view where you can ask them questions. They both seem loyal enough not to talk right away, although you’re sure with a bit of convincing you can make them talk. As Guido looms over the two, making sure they don’t try to run, Match approaches you. “Yo, Siris, uh... I was thinking. You know how in movies, they have a good cop and a bad cop? I think we should do that too.”

You pause. “I’ll be bad cop. This is important.” Match nods, although he looks a bit disappointed. This does leave you with the predicament of looking scarier than the guy who’s head is on fire, but you barely even realize that. Instead all you can think about is your brother. So, as you approach these two, you can barely hold yourself back. Your eyes glow slightly as you look at the thugs, and you think of what they might have done to Lewis.

You reach out, finding the light of the streetlamps and shutting them off one by one. While doing this, you made sure your eyes glowed a little bit. Still, you didn’t say anything, standing behind Match, your arms crossed over your chest. “Listen guys, we don’t want any trouble, y’know? Forgive and forget, that’s my motto. We just need some answers, right? See, my friend here, his brother’s gone missing. And he, well... he needs somebody to take his anger out on. That doesn’t need to be you. Just tell us why you attacked us, and what you know about his brother.”

For a moment, the driver looks like he’s about to say something, but the gunner speaks up first. “Go to fuckin’ hell, gene freaks! We’re not tellin’ you nothin’.”

You smile, before looking towards Guido and Match. “Hold their eyes open, please. And shut yours.” Guido shrugs, but the two of them do it, despite the struggling from the thugs. You still have a grasp on the light from the streetlamps you dimmed, so it’s simple enough to guide the light over to the alley you’re in, and suddenly turn it up to a very, very high level. The two thugs scream from pain, and you let go of your grip on the streetlamps, letting them return to their usual light level. To drive your point further, you kick the Gunner right in his crotch.

“Don’t worry, the blindness isn’t gonna last forever. Probably,” you say, trying to scare them a bit more.

Now that they seem ready to talk, what do you want to ask them?
> Why they attacked you.
> What they know about your brother.
> Who they work for.

Now, with your point made, you can ask some questions. “Who the hell do you work for? Why were you attacking us?” You ask both questions, holding yourself back from outright asking about your brother, you try to keep your voice calm, despite how upset you are. The driver talks first, without the gunman to interrupt him. “We’re working for Shaky Kaufman! He wanted us to kill you! He thought you were asking too many questions! Please don’t hurt us, it was just a job!”

It’s where he takes care of his business.” You nod, grabbing him by his collar and pulling him up into a standing position. “Okay! Wonderful! I have a new job for you! You take us to Kaufman, and we’ll pay you, by not knocking your teeth out!” The driver nods quickly. “Okay, okay!” He rubs his eyes as his vision starts to return, and he begins to lead you in a direction. Guido, Ben, and Megan follow a ways behind you.

You decide to spend your time talking to the group. At least so you can formulate a plan. You approach the rest of them, and Megan looks at you strangely. “You were pretty harsh back there, Siris,” she says quietly, obviously not wanting to say much beyond voice her displeasure. You consider talking to her more about it, but, you want to stay focused on figuring out a plan. Your brother’s life is at stake her.

Now he's relaxed, cuz he's in the clear. Either if we knock off his boss, or if he led us into a trap."

You sigh, and give Pixie a pleading look. “Can we talk about this later? We have to focus here.” She nods, seeming a bit put-off. Still, you get everyone together. “Okay, what’s the plan? We’re heading into unfamiliar territory here, we need to be prepared.” Guido nods, “I’ll call everyone else, let them know what’s going on. Figure I’ll go in first right? Seein’ as I’m bulletproof and what not. We gotta play it safe, okay. This don’t gotta go bad for anyone, I’m sure we can get outta this without a fight or somethin’, kids.”

You nod, “That sounds good. You’re in charge here.” You’re way less experienced than Strong Guy is, you remind yourself, and you don’t like being the leader anyway. It doesn’t suit you. As Guido pulls out his phone and calls up his buddies, you decide to talk to Pixie. Your relationship has been a little weird. First, there was the kiss, and then the two of you didn’t talk for a while, the awkwardness is overwhelming as you approach her.

“Hey, Megan,” you talk to her quietly, “About that stuff before, yeah, I was harsh but they’re criminals. They would have killed us. When you deal with guys like that, you have to be harsh, or else more people get hurt.” Megan seems to think on this for a while, before she frowns a little bit. “I suppose so, but... that doesn’t seem like things we should be doing. We’re X-Men, right? Or, well, we’re training to be X-Men. We’re supposed to be heroes. That... didn’t feel heroic. It just felt wrong.”

> What do you want to say?

You frown, “You’re right. I made a mistake, I’m thinking like Siris, the kid that grew up in M-Town, not Siris, the X-Man in training. I, uh, I’m just worried about my brother.” Megan gives you a sympathetic smile. “I understand, it’s okay. I’m sure your brother will be alright, and this’ll all end okay. I didn’t mean to make this into some big thing, I was just somewhat shocked. I didn’t expect to see that side of you.” You shrug, and the conversation begins to drift towards more casual topics, and the two of you just chat for a while.

You’re discussing Ms. Frost’s teaching methods when you finally arrive at the warehouse. The driver holds his hands up. “This is it! Can I please go now? I’m sorry, I’ll turn my life around! Please, just let me go!”

You nod. “Sure, get the hell out of here. Stay away from gangs from now on, okay? It’s a dumb career choice in M-Town.” As the hopefully no-longer criminal runs away from the scene, you take a deep breath. Your brother is going to be in here, hopefully. Along with a dangerous drug lord and presumably a lot of armed men. You’ve trained for this. You’ve watched videos of other people succeeding at things like this. Yet, you really don’t feel ready for this.

Still, Guido looks at you, “Ready, boss?” and you take a look around at your friends, seeing all eyes are on you, and you nod. The next few minutes are a blur. Guido bursts through the doors, there are sudden gunshots. Guido says something you can’t hear over afore mentioned gunshots, and then there’s a blinding flash of light.

Not caused by you.

By the time you wake up, the world is spinning. Or rather, your vision is. It takes a moment for your mind to really understand what’s going on, but eventually you realize that’s speech you’re hearing.

“S-s-so. Wh-who the f-f-f-f-fuck do you th-th-th-thin-think you are?” you hear a voice behind you. Shaky Kaufman, you realize, is standing behind you, speaking to you. Based on his stuttering, the man is angry. Which means he’s very, very fucking strong. You realize this when he slams his hands down on the steel table in front of you, breaking it in half. You try to move, only to find you’re strapped to the chair.
