I really try not to, but some days they're great (everything is relative. Still 99% blind after all) and others... not so much.

Right now I have this thick fog right before my field of view. Its really annoying. Let me show you... it creates blanks in my vision, like this,

Right no- I have this th--k fog right before my field of ----. Its really -------oying. Let me --ow you... it ---ates blanks-----my vision, like --is,

Im sure you get it. Anyway, where were we when I started seeing disco lights? and again, sorry I dissapeared like that

PD: I miss the xmas captcha, it was really nice and easy to see

We had just gotten back from our spying mission, and Eldric was unsuccessful in his flirting with Mai.

So now we need to report to the rest of the UN council about the Alquian tech development.

Alrighty then

***

As we passed over the ship, Mai casually stepped off the dragon's back and fell straight down unto the deck, landing as if she was weightless and just walking in without any ceremony.

"I'm back!" -she said as she dissapeared under the deck

We go around and land before the ship, then unsummon our mount after giving it a prize red apple as a treat.

"Thanks for your work." -we say while sending it away

We climb unto the ship, and follow after Mai through the threshold.

We should...

>Go greet Mako

Afterwards we can greet Lyann and Aritsu, and then gather everyone for a meeting.

Uhmm i was hoping the others would show up already. Well, I guess we can go like this for a while and see if they do.

Eldric goes down two sets of stairs, then walks down the hallway towards Mako's room.

The door was closed, but from under it, light was visible. Well, Mai was probably already there and Mako would want to hear about the short trip.

*knock knock* -he tapped the door gently

Ami opened the door. Well, Eldric was a little happy to be finally able to tell them apart. The shadows were identical, of course, but Ami had a healthy aura, so to speak. She was currently wearing a short but thick wool and leather jacket, matching a pair of long, soft-looking pants.

All of it was black, with a few white details, such as the thick and clean rope she used as a belt, and the simple choker on her neck.

She was bare foot, and stoof on the balls of her feet. It might have looked charming if Eldric didn't know her enough to know it meant she was ready to throw a kick at a moment's notice.

Thankfully, she relaxed when she saw him, and supported her heels on the floor. For her, that was as close as disarmed as she could get.

"Good evening" -she smiled and looked behind us. Seeing noone else, she stepped aside and opened the door for us.
"Thank you. Please excuse me."

Going in, we found Mako wearing a soft white robe as she sat in the middle of the bed, her ankles at either side of her hips, hands on her thighs as she remained still while Mai brushed her hair from behind her.

"Eldric!" -she beamed at us, but Mai very gently pushed down right on the middle of her head, making her sit back down in place.

Well, taking care of Mako's hair was actually one of her duties.

It may sound silly if you did not know how important Mako and Ren's hair was a crafting goods. It was no exaggeration to say that they were living treasure vaults for their country.

"My princess, there's still 385 brush strokes to go." -said Mai

Mai had already cleaned and changed her clothes, somehow.

Of course, riding on a dragon's back for a couple of hours would dry anyone, so we weren't dripping salt water into the room, but perhaps we should have had a bath back in our room before we came?

"Eldric, you came!" -Mako said happily- "Are you going to... what was it again?" -she looked towards Ami without moving her head
"Push you down and kiss you, my princess." -the redhead responded in a neutral tone
"Yes! will you push me down and kiss me, like you said you would?"

>Ah, no... that was just me teasing you.
>Of course
>No... not right now. If I do that, I won't be able to pull away for a while, and I have to talk with Asmund and Okaba...

"...yes" -he answered while climbing unto the bed and leaning down against Mako's lips.
"E-eep!" -she let out a soft cry, a full body blush coming forth as he kissed her gently

Somehow, her shadows were gone when he looked for them in the room.

He kissed her again, gently pushing her down with kisses while they entwined their fingers.

"E-eldric, I am wearing pajamas..." -she objected softly
"Such lucky pajamas. I'm sure they're the envy of pajamas world wide!"
"I don't understand what you are sa-ah!" -she lets out a little gasp as he kisses her again

Uhhh... we never thought to be jealous of pajamas before. These, these shamelessly lucky pajamas that get to hug her every night! what's with this stupidly good luck pajamas!?

By the time we come back to our senses, it's late enough to be early.

We'll have to talk to everyone in the morning, after all.

Mako was so red that it was visible through her clothes. She was lying down with her hips resting on their side, her knees together. We had been hugging and kissing for hours, but it couldn't be helped.

Right!

It's not our fault!

It's because Mako is so lovely, so it's her fault!

Lovely Mako's fault!

Right!

Eldric nodded to himself as he looked at her-

"What are you doing?" -she asks confused
"I had other things to do."
"Important things."
"Well, of relative importance, I mean, kissing Mako or anything else, you know... relative importance."
"Eldric's being silly." -she says with a little smile

Right.

It is definitively Mako's fault.

That's why, we'll punish her with kisses.

The first half was her fault, so this other half is her punishment!

...we did eventually make it out past the door.

Scary! we can see the dawn breaking out behind the horizon. We just blew all night in Mako's room!

1/?
>>
>>44627512
>We just blew all night in Mako's room!
Lyann and Aritsu will be jealous.
>>
>>44627602
because they couldnt kiss mako

thats understandable
>>
>>44627512
It happens, one of the upsides of keeping the rod sisters inthe same room is less of a chance to neglect then.
>>
>>44627512

It would be gramatically correct to say we wasted all night in Mako's room. Gramatically correct, but factually wrong.

Because there's no way time spent on kissing Mako would ever count as a waste!

Right. Such a phrase would never be approved of! Any scholar that would say that such a phrase was right, would be a fool!

"Fuuu..." -Lyann let out a long sigh of dissatisfaction as she greeted us outside of Mako's room.

"Good morning" -she says to us with a beaming smile.

That's a really beautiful smile.

It is also terrifying.

But, but... it was a night well spent. Even if we are to die now, we won't regret it!

"You smell like a beach." -she says, and pulls us by our right hand.

We are not dead?

Thus, we are led back to our room by Saint Lyann of the sacred heart. Her love and understanding are truly bottomless, aren't they?

As we go into the room, Aritsu turns to greet us. She was working on our desk, but... her words die before they reach her lips.

Because unlike us, she can look at Lyann's face.

A green eyed monster! a green eyed monster is here!

The elven princess flees the room in a hurry. She turns around once, and bows, then leaves with quick steps.

"Did you learn anything interesting?" -Lyann asks while filling the tub with water, and gathering the bath tools.
"Yes, the alquians have ships with turbines and propellers..." -we begin explaining while taking out clothes off

Lyann helps us into the tub... wait, isn't that boiling water? love... love, that water looks too hot, you know?

"Lyann, I..."
"Yes?" -scary! that smile is scary!

We enter into the tub.

Is that a horse brush? why aren't you using the usual sponge? that's too hard, you know? it has metallic teeth, love!

...we shed two skin layers and a year of life during this bath.

Images are censored. It wouldn't be strange if this created some sort of complex in Eldric towards baths, hot water, or horse brushes.

During breakfast, we can't help but think that cotton clothes are itchy.

We went to the great lenght of introducing cotton to master Tazar so we could get some nice, soft clothes.

It was a waste of time.

That's how it feels, now that we are wearing cotton clothes with two layers less of skin.

We always thought that the nobles on this world were overdoing it by wearing silk, but... right now, silk sounds good.

Silk sounds great.

Silk is great.

Silk, hooray!

Thank you God for our silk underwear.

"Eldric, you are bright red." -Alard points out during breakfast in the mess hall- "Did you catch a cold?"
"Idiots don't catch colds." -says Lyann in a flat tone.

Alard looks at Lyann for a moment, then decides he likes his skin where it is, so he shuts the fuck up.

Of course, we need to explain what a propeller is. Then we give them a rough explanation of a turbine.

As expected, Asmund and Okaba are obviously interested on it. Aura and Dawn could understand what we are talking about if they had the interest to do so, certainly... but they don't.

Ah, how hard can it be to find a succubus with an interest in science?

Well, Okaba's people has lived with them for thousands of years. In that time, they learnt that trying to push them towards any one field of work is just as pointless as trying to command the waves.

In the end, they just sort of kept them around and hoped for the best. Whenever the odd succubus has a -enduring- interest in a craft, technology has moved forth by leaps and bounds, but, most of the time they more interested in music, dance, cooking, the movement of stars, or dark fields of knowledge they don't even bother to come up with a name for.

There certainly is a succubus out there that can talk to bees.

Not monster bees, either. Just regular bees.

Because that sort of thing interested her.

Should I call them idiot savants? a whole race of them, too!

"Well, what would be the cost of making such ships?" -Honoria seems only midly interested herself.

Her kingdom is land-locked, so they have a use for flying rockit ships, but not for refular ships who require water, propeller or not.

"It should be much cheaper than making a rockit ship." -offers Okaba- "After all, we only need to slightly modify an old ship to install these propell ekts, but we need to build each rockit ship from scratch around a rockit stone skeleton."

"I'd like to take a look at what passes nowadays for a maritime chart in Alquia. The propel-er nust have greatly advanced their exploring over sea routes, right?" -Asmund says and then takes a sip of his drink.

"Actually, shouldn't our own knowledge of far away lands widely exceed their own? we probably should organize a merely exploratory mission soon." -our cousin offers as he cuts his food

"How much food would we need to go around the world? nooone knows how big it is, after all. All we know are the continents that we call home." -we offer into the conversation

"6051.8±1.0 kilometers, give or take a few hundred meters." -offers Aura as an after thought while playing with her food

"It's not a perfect orb. slightly flatter on the poles, though." -adds Dawn as she seems to play with Aura's food as well.

Are these two airheads measuring the world based on the array of Aura's food plate?

I feel like I want to ask.

But I really don't want to know.

"Alright, so, with a cruiser, that's a crew of 500 or so. That's a numerous enough crew to be able to fight off most things without much trouble, right? how much food would they need to go around the world?" -we ask Aura with a hopeful expression.

Both Okaba and Asmund look at us with pitying eyes.

"I dunno. A lot?" -she answers while going omnom nom

We turn to Dawn.

Hey, you are not even listening anymore! what are you doing with the salt! please put down the sugar, too!

These two...

No, the one that expected them to remain focused was only us.

It is our fault. Our friends are looking at us with pitying eyes.

I kind of hate these airheads, just a little.

We pull out a premium red apple from our [Inventory] and hold it before their eyes.

"How much food would we need to have to feed a crew of 500 for a trip around the world, if they were on a rockit ship?"

"237 520 apples like this one" -says Aura as she tries to reach for it

We let her have it.

Well that is... something. But we have our doubts on feeding nothing but apples to a crew for god knows how long...

"How long would the trip last?" -we ask Dawn while holding another apple, but she's nibbling on Aura's apple from the other side.

The succubus have no concept of personal space, do they?

Okaba gives us a pitying look.

"Of course it's been tried." -he says- "But there's no teacher who can keep pace with a succubus learning speed, let alone a classroom full of them. They get bored on the first day, and then you lost."

There's a tint of bitterness in his voice.

"Just let it go." -adds Asmund- "The best you can hope is that whatever finally does catch their interest is ...relatively harmless. If it is helpful, consider yourself blessed."

"Don't worry. I'm sure we can come up with the right numbers once we go through the fleet's records." -says Lyann, patting our hand as she rubs our back- "It'll be just a couple days of work, or so."

"Anyway... I'd like to know who they got that could come up with turbines and how to use mana collectors that way." -we say, trying to forget about the horny airheads

As in, they have horns, nothing else. Jsyk

Well, tonight, we need to meet with the king for his decision on trade and the future of Lapsiona's diplomatic relationships with the coalition, but until then, we have all day.

A few months away, lets say 2, so the fleet should be at full strengthen by the time Mako is 15. In time for her bday, really

>>44631070
>How much time before the Heavenly Empire will have its first squadron of military rock-it ships?
How many ships do you want that to be? the small cruisers and patrol ships are almost done. The big ships are months away, though. No capital ships at all right now.
>>
>>44631172
I was thinking something like the Great White Fleet, but since subjugating Alquia before it can become more of a military and political threat should take priority, a group of light cruisers with a long-range teleportation pad and a signed Imperial Edict giving Duke Lightbringer full authority over the Alquian colonies will have to do.
>>
>>44631172
For the Alquian Pacification Campaign, four cruisers and some fleet tenders. I'd like some dreadnaughts and battleships, but the Alquians might develop anti-air defenses if we wait too long, and they may not submit to the Empress.

As an aside, the Miel Hegemony Home Fleet should probably consist of a number of heavy capital ships and a swarm of escort ships and fleet tenders.
In addition to the Home Fleet, we could gift the Hegemony with Hive Fleets that will provide overwhelming military might to her far-flung empire.

In fact, it might actually be a Hive Fleet, or the Hegemony Home Fleet itself, that will circumnavigate the world before the Heavenly Empire.

I want a succubus engineer, with a specific interest in propulsion systems.
Some of her ideas are revolutionary and elegant, like the magitek turbine and propellor.
Others are just plain useless and only good for novelty value (until other tech catches up to actually make it use).

So one month she'll be working on an efficient mana condenser and motor system, and the next she'll be trying to figure out how to use that same mana condenser to power a Plant-type monster's root legs.
