A dark sun looms over a sky darkened by swarms of ships and sub-capitols, the shadows of capitol ships drifting overhead. The atmosphere was smoggy with fumes and smoke from flesh farms and ship factories toiling for the Necrotic Armada.

Lich-Lord Jadyk stands on the prow of a cruiser as it descends from his fleet to the world the Undying Court used to hold session. He spies the jagged hull of the Voidknights, sensing Voidlord Ghul already landing. Ships from the Red Rot, the Whispered, the Puppeteers, and many others of the Necrotic Armada filling the air. He even spots the ethereal forms of Akka-Tor's Wraiths drifting past, her forces needing no ships to descend from their ships in orbit.

A shudder runs through him, mandibles making up his mouth chittering in annoyance as the Lightdrinker herself drifts through his latest body. Shaking his head at the grin she sported he nonetheless offers a bow, "Greetings Akka-Tor. I was not expecting you to show to be honest," your voice traveling despite the airless void.

The human appearing ghost drifts around the Lich, a shocked gasp then soft laugh reaching him, "Am I really that unreliable?" she asks with a smirk, the tendrils trailing from her shifting form writhing in an unfelt breeze.

A ghostly hand trails along Jadyk's shoulders and he shifts, "Apologies. I thought you were busy with your campaign?"

Akka-Tor clicks her tongue as they descend, "Yes, but to ignore a summons from the Undying Court itself? Unforgivable," she sounds chastising yet grins, "I wish to learn more about these new enemies. Is it true they have already destroyed the fleet of the Plaguedrinkers?"

Jadyk nods, horn-like antennae twitching, "Unfortunately. None of their diseases worked. "Black of shell with crimson eyes and wings." Hardly a threat to our Grand Necrotic Armada, the Plaguedrinkers were a minor fleet," the Lich says with confidence as he looks over the crumbling planet below.

The ghost nods, "Hardly a threat, I'm sure."

Completed Research:
>Ahkam Fighter Craft: The teardrop shaped fighter craft that Nekris and his forces have shot down were thoroughly investigated by his onsite Think Tank. The ships were not as advanced or well maintained as the Osjiic or even Dagger ships but are sturdy and able to unleash a devastating barrage of weapons fire. Their main weapon is an over-sized rotary repeater cannon with a surprising amount of swarm-missile pods.

>Stonestar Moon Survey: As Agona's forces carried out their campaign against the Ahkam loyalists a small group scoured the planet for information on it's wildlife and unique properties. Among their discoveries:

>A large snail-like creature with a shell that flakes and splits into rough edges when aggitated.
>A long flat creature that sails on the updrafts from the volcanic vents and pools, dropping down on unwary prey.
>A fast growing organism resembling both fungus and lichen ringing hot springs that seems to be the basis of the moons food-chain.
>Small flying creatures that resemble stones until disturbed
>>
>>44778530
Unlocked upgrades:
>Repeater Cannon/Bone Repeater Upgrade
Upgrading your own Repeater Cannons/Bone Repeaters to switch from a pair of alternating barrels the weapons now operate with a quartet of rotary barrels, increasing firing speed. This upgrade applies to both the ship based Repeater Cannon and the troop-sized bone repeater.

>Condensed Needle Missile Pod upgrade
By condensing the already small Needle Missiles you can fit twice as many into a single pod, allowing for a secondary volley before needing to reload.

Unlocked Research:
>Ahkam Fighter Mimicry: Medium
>Flakeshell Dissection: Fast
>Flatsnake Dissection: Fast
>Volcanic Lichen: Medium

There is a flash of light almost missed on the backdrop of the star as a Frigate arrives in the system with Jor and the Armatocere diplomats. The unarmed craft cools its Skip Drive as it accelerates towards the planet and the ships in orbit.

A portion of the treeship breaks away, or rather lets go, and moves to intercept the craft but with weapons withdrawn. This same craft had departed at the end of the talks between Sapling Sllrt and Jor, speeding away into FTL before returning several hours later.

Your frigate slows as they near each other, rotating to a stop to expose its underside to the smaller ship which does similar. There is a brief exchange between ships and the frigates cargo hold opens, several large crates that filled nearly the entirety of the hold drift out towards the plantship.

>-900M

Vines lash out from the ship to snatch the crates and draw them tight against the tree. Similarly layers of armored bark slide away and release a single large seed. A pair of trolls with advanced jump-packs guide the cargo inside, sealing it within the ship.

Jor sends a message to the Armatocere ship, "Trade complete. Our Lord Jadyk thanks you for your cooperation. I personally hope this is the start of a friendship between our people," he says as the frigate spools its FTL once more then disappears from the system.

There is a delay before the synthetic voice of Sllrt transmits, "Agreed Diplomat Jor. We shall leave a satellite in the system and invite you to do the same if we wish to remain in contact," What looks like a flowerbud detaches from the treeship and drifts a short distance before turning to face the star and blossoms, reflective petals peeling back from an array of sensors.

Jor bids farewell and soon both ships depart, leaving the Eyegore staring with curiosity at the Armatocere satellite.

On Rukor the Ahkam were growing restless. Nekris had withdrawn his attacks for a single night and the tension and dread was almost palpable.

Ahkam patrols were doubled in size, a single Corvette traveling from base to base as well. Your ructu and Gargoyles listen in on paranoid troopers, watching the fear-drunk soldiers overreact to every single snap or rustle in the jungles and swamps of the planet.

Your Eyegore watches the ships in orbit, the large Destroyer ship serving as a hangar for the swarm of fighters that traveled to and from the surface. To your Eyegores alarm it overhears them mention the Stonestars moon. The fleet eventually needing to visit the gas giant to refuel and to check in on the natives in their wars and training for eventual uplifting into the Ahkam forces.

Already Agona's ships idle on the surface of the moon, ready to launch at a moments surface. The Obsidianborn construct pacing along Agona's fortress and ships, silently inspecting the craft and soldiers.

The secret hangar of Nails awaiting on Rukors moon awakening from their hibernation in the cold along with those guarding the asteroid mining operation.

You watch as Red-Leaf-Strains tribe changes their migration, heading north for the cold mountains and the Colony. They carried with them supplies they dug up from secret caches along the way, dried roots and berries helping them on their way.

There was much to be done. What shall you do first?

>>44780165
You command the Gargoyles watching the herd to keep a close eye on them. You hear a Think Tank laugh in the background before hurriedly returning to its research when you glance at it.

The Plainsrunners shall make this pilgrimage themselves. You will keep an eye on them should they run into trouble. For now though you wait for Jor's arrival, wanting him to prepare for the large natives.

The Frigate containing the seed appears within the system near the gas giant. It pauses only long enough to gulp down fuel from a resupply craft before zipping its way towards the moon.

It's cargo bay opens and several Coffins grab the seed larger than the coffins themselves and transport it to the former Dagger base, now a research hub for Think Tanks.

The bark of the seed splits along seams in the shell, falling into four separate containers, each full to the brim with a variety of food from colorful fruits to thick roots and ferns to what appeared to be a variety of colorful jellied fruits.
>>
>>44780823
Alarms sound across multiple bases, each of your generals alerted at the same moment as yourself. Your Eyegore watching through its satellite as two of the remaining corvettes and two frigates break orbit and start to accelerate towards the gas giant. The black shelled Destroyer remained above the planet flanked by two blocky frigates with two of the corvettes leaving the surface to join guard.

The four ships are somewhat slower than your own sub-light ships. It would take them a few hours to arrive at the gas giant and its moon but they were on their way.

The faces of your three Generals flicker onto a screen as you sit on your battlecruiser. They bow their heads in greeting before Punisher Agona speaks, "The time is upon us, Lord Jadyk. How shall we act?"

You look to your generals, tapping your claws together.

The Ahkam are sending ships towards the Stonestar moon and will arrive in several hours.
How shall you react?

(Well dang. I think the crit crawl minefield was a high 90's roll last time as well)

Agona hurriedly sends the coffins laying in wait on both her moon and those scattered on several other moons into space. They push their engines to the limit, cargo doors opening and vomiting their deadly cargo into the void near the asteroid belt they would have to push through.

Spheres of bone position themselves with small burst of pressurized gas between armored plates. They set themselves into motion to intercept the craft, disguising themselves among chunks of drifting rock.

As fleets prepare themselves the Crit Crawls wait, barely contained thoughts of excitement at finally achieving glory for their Lord Jadyk burbling between them. Eventually the four ships pass through the asteroid belt, their thick armored hulls letting them ignore all but the largest of debris which are either avoid or pulverized by defensive cannons.

Your Crit Crawls go unnoticed and bounce off the hulls, only to uncurl and latch on to them with thermal glowing legs. The domed constructs scurry along the surface of the ship, securing themselves against weapons mounts and engines, the EMP Crawls searching for the shield generators that were currently turned off. These Ahkam seemed not to worry about possible ambushes or they were frugal with their shields.

All four ships are thoroughly bugged. A good portion of them remain drifting in the asteroid belt waiting either to be picked up or the other ships to pass through as well.

>15 Exp Crit Crawls unattached
>30 EMP Crit Crawls unattached

(fuck sorry, be back in a few, small emergency cropped up)

How do you want to launch the attack? They are still enroute for the moon

>>
>>44781948
Oh dear, I hope it isn't bad, man.

As for the attack I thought we'd be better waiting until they're in orbit of the moon, and ideally within range of the array of advanced AA turrets Agona has built up. Then we detonate the crit crawlers and swarm them with the nails.

Lorgul stews silently in disappointment at not being able to join. Nekris watches passively, and you give the command to Agona.

"Make me proud, my Punisher. Show them to fear you," you say with a nod. Agona bows and you swear you can feel excitement welling up inside her as the screen goes blank.

Agona stands on the bridge of her Light Cruiser, her small picket fleet lighting their engines, lifting into the air and waiting for her command. They wait just below the storm cover, only a single lightning strike hitting Agonas shield without harm now that the Think Tanks had analyzed the storms.

The four ships drift closer and closer, reaching orbit over the planet. Your Eyegore can hear them complaining of the storm disrupting their sensors but a frigate and corvette start to descend. The pair of ships approach the storm level and Agona sends her command.

The voices of multiple Crit Crawls ring out in bliss before they detonate against the hulls of the ships. Flames blossom across the ships as weapon mounts are shattered and engines cracked. Electrical Crit Crawls pulse their charges, wrecking further havoc on the unfortunate ships and rendering their shields useless.

One of the two ships lose power to their engines, rapidly starting to fall to the surface while their communication waves enter a fury. They punch into the storm, lightning flashing excitedly and striking the ships unprotected against the strikes.

Agona's fleet passes by the free-falling ship, Necrotic Flayer turrets raking across the hulls in passing. Before the ships even cleared the storm her array of towers unleash their hail of fire, striking the damaged frigate barely remaining in the sky.

Soon two great fireballs descend from the storm, Stonestars of both factions watching the skies with amazement as the ships crash to the surface then detonate.

>cont
>>
>>44783097
The two remaining ships in orbit try to reactivate their engines, stubborn EMP crit crawls staggering their pulses to disable them and the shields. This leaves them wide open for the five advanced AA towers to aim and unleash their weapons against them.

Screaming from the cloud cover Nails race out, firing a dazzling array of flensers, flayers and missiles. Several are cut down by the small squad of fighters fleeing the damaged sub-capitols only to quickly torn to pieces in an overwhelming dogfight.

The ships attempt to fire their remaining weapons but the nimble Nails dodge the attacks, raking the hull with their flayers and flensers.

Agona's ships punch through the clouds, lighting flashing around them as they unleash their bombardment. Slugs of heavy metal charges with Necrotic energy punch through the hulls, acid-drops igniting on shattered bulkheads. The ships try to fight back, their weapons too few and too damaged to puncture their shields.

The quintet of ships surround the craft, firing broadside against them until the hulls start to rupture under the assault. There is a brief cry for mercy over communication waves and a plea to the Ahkam to save them before first the corvette then the frigate shatter then detonate.

Cheers rise up through the small fleet, even Agona letting out a laugh at the easy victory. She turns to the screen that showed your smiling skull and she bows, "It was an honor to test our warships for the first time, Lord Jadyk. I pray all our conflicts are this easily won. Glory to the New Necrotic Armada!"

Her cheer ripples through her ships but your Eyegore watches as the ships over Rukor tighten their formation and fire their engines. The Destroyer recalls its fighters and across Rukor bases are hastily abandoned as troops flee to orbit.
