>In this quest you play as a "DM" kind of character, instead of a "Player".

You're... Pretty much omnipotent. You're the "Storyteller". Since forever, you've been the world itself, building it on the go for some special sentient beings - Heroes - to inhabit, explore and exist. That was your purpose, your passion. To compose and make a poetic, grandiose environment for the Heroes. You weren't perfect though - sometimes, you did make this and that mistake, but it was certainly nothing you couldn't fix with some guile and narrative cunning.

However, this time, you've messed up big time. Keiko, one of your heroes, was now in possession of a God Blade - The Infinitos 12. It was sword that was at par with your own divine power. She wasn't supposed to have that! You must've made a horrible oversight! Gah. What a mistake!

Now, you couldn't just poof it out of her hands. But how you wish you could. You have to be more subtle than that - you had to orchestrate her life and events in a convincing, satisfying, "story-told" way. Simply causing a "A big rock falls, and she dies" event would mean your *own* demise. Making a good story is what keeps you *alive*.

You kinda haven't paid her much attention until now, given how unremarkable of an adventurer she was, however, you could vaguely remember the kind of story line you had set out for her.

>You've gone with the stereotypical, playing it safe. You had made a story for her to go to a dungeon and retrieve a magical artifact for a wizard, as a quest. She got the sword as a reward for completing it.
>Your story for her so far has been tragic and gritty. She had fought in a war, and one of her companions had died - but he had left her his family's heirloom. It happened to be the sword.
>Her story has been fairly light-hearted until now. She had won the sword as a prize in a silly bet, and at first everyone believed it just to be trash. But it happened to be the Infinitos.

Tragic it is!
---*---

Ah, you remember it now. She had fought in a war, and one of her companions had died - but he had left her his family's heirloom. It happened to be the sword. All of that was over now, and she was at a small town, tired and beaten up from her affairs abroad.

However, Keiko was doing something odd. She had been researching something lately, visiting libraries and talking to people, asking them things about the Last Lands.

The Last Lands was told to be a remote, horribly dangerous place covered in an eternal storm, and nobody has even been able to come out of there alive. That was just a rumor that you have spread though, you haven't actually "made" the Last Lands yet. It was all blank, except for the storm that envelops and hides it, and a single, very important thing at the middle. If the world was your body, the Last Lands contained your heart - the World's Core. Of course, you had also covered it in a ridiculous amount of protective layers of armor and such, just in case. But there was no "adventure" there, nothing to be found or be done. Nobody was supposed to be even able to get there in the first place! Keiko was supposed to continue her regular storyline!

You had to think of something, quick, and "make" some kind of adventure to exist within the first part of the Last Lands. Some kind of campaign, adventure, something! She mustn't discover that it's just all blank!

>Write in a Setting and basic background/plot info for the first part of the Last Lands.
For example, a very brief one would be: "Atlantis-like area populated by golems, created by a powerful mage centuries ago."
>>
>>44801008
If it's just the first part of the Last Lands we need, then we start with a desert, maybe populated by wandering colossi. Fits in with keeping people out and will buy us time to think of more for after.

And really, deserts are trying on even hardened adventurers. This'll be a good test of her.

>An advanced empire had once spanned this continent, living in a golden era of prosperity and wealth for a thousand years until they created something horrible in the face of their hubris; an eldritch horror that brought their Empire to their knees and annihilated it. All that remains now are the ruins of a great civilization filled with the nightmarish off-springs of the created Eldritch horror.

An enchanted forest populated by tentacle monsters and various insects that lay eggs in unwary adventurers

Just kidding go with the desert idea.

But maybe with glass desert
The kind of glass that comes into existence when lightning strikes sand
>>
>>44801008
Last Lands had in ancient times housed a kindom with advanced magics, but a war forgotten to history devasted it and left it under a perpetual storm. Only magical monsters created by the magical devastation roam its plains now.
>>
>>44801106
I love Eldritch horrors.
>>
The last lands contain various portals to other half finished worlds you hVe begun an abandoned. Some mutated together into an abomination others have decayed into mass dungeons with endless possibities.

Her sword would allow her to edit these unfinished worldsand make for an intruiging story as we try to wrestle control away.
>>
She was actually going to do it. She was going to go to the Last Lands. Using her savings, she had bought a boat and provisions, and set off to those forbidden lands.

But, like, didn't he have a war to continue fighting in? What about that dude that gave her the heirloom. Didn't she care about him? What the hell was she doing?

The Infinitos 12. It had to be the blame. Now that she had the power to pretty much do and defeat anything, she had to be looking for something at par with her abilities, or something. You didn't know her motives, you didn't really know her well enough to guess. But having her want to go to the Last Lands was bad, really really bad. If there was anything that could break through all of the World Core's defenses like butter, it was the Infinitos 12.

There was a reason it was called the Infinitos 12 too. It had 12 powers, but... You didn't know what the other 12 powers were. It would depend on her as the wielder to discover and develop them. Of course, that would mean that over time, she would become more powerful and have more options to use with the blade, but that's a minor concern. You have *infinite* options. Once you could discover what those 12 powers were, planning out an elegant checkmate to solve this problem would be trivial. But you needed the information.

Keiko rode the boat and slashed through the storm with her Godblade, and finally reached the shores of your newly created area - The Forgotten Desert. In ancient times housed a kindom with advanced magics, but a war forgotten to history devasted it and left it under a perpetual storm, and within the eye of the storm, this. A vast desert. With some surprises.

You observed how she looked around, and got off her boat, and started to march into the glassy sands. Then, right there, a pair of golems popped up and roared at her! She was an intruder to their lands!

(Cont.)
>>
>>44801546

She unsheathed and put the blade en garde in front of her, in a defensive stance.

"Who are you!" she demanded. "I don't want to kill you guys, but if I have to, I will!"

She's.... Not going to attack right away? This is your chance.

>Have the golems talk to her. Let's get to know her better through our plot-minions. Write in questions.
>Challenge her and try to have her awaken one of the powers of the Infinitos. Have the golems attack! The sooner you get the information you need for that checkmate, the better.
>Stall. Let her slowly roast in the desert heat, if she falls unconscious, attempting to take the blade from her would be easy. This option seems perhaps... Too easy, though.

Who are you!?
>>
So you mebtion that we dont pay attention to her... This implies that other heroes take up a large part of our time. Can we contract some of them to help us?
>>
>>44801748
Sure, but you have to be subtle. The same way that PC characters don't know that a IRL person is DMing them, the heroes don't know that you're orchestrating their life.

So you can't go up to them and say "Yo, I need your help".

You're god though, you could just make your own NPCs too.

Make the golems unbeatable with God-powers and have them steal the Infinitos.

GG, no RE.

>>44801810
Holy shit, yes! Make a couple of NPC's and spread rumors that the heroin with the God blade is trying to purge the world and reforge it anew with her new god-like sword.

Make her out to be the BBEG and make the other heroes pursue her and stop her.
>>
>>44801845
But that would be... boring. We as a storyteller god would hardly be satisfied with that.

>>44801861
heroine*
>>
>>44801861
Well there might be some merit in that, we already gave her tragedy as her past.
>>
>>44801881
Also, that would be the IRL equivalent of telling your players to gang up against another player, just because YOU accidentally gave her an OP item.

that's just wrong, yo.
>>
>>44801810
Easy, have the golems talk to he and send her on a journey through the whole world. While she's travelling we'll play on her war experiences, that even a blade s powerful as this cannott bring back the dead, mend a heart or help you conquer the self
Make her give up on the sword.

The Golems boomed forth in unison. "We are the guardians of this citadel!" "Why have you come, stranger? State your intentions, or be destroyed!"

Keiko held her stance. "I'm looking for the World's Core." she admitted. "I have no business with your ...Citadel, golems!"

"The World's Core?" they replied in surprise. "Who are you!?"

"Keiko." she replied. "Just Keiko."

"Keiko." the Golems then said, and aimed their fists at the sword. "Disarming sequence initiated."

Their fists shot out at supersonic speeds. There was no way she could avoi-

The Godblade hissed in the wind as it swung forth, and deflected the attack!

>Infinitos Power #1 discovered: God-tier fighting capabilities.

That would also explain how she literally cut through a storm to get here.

---*---

You shifted your attention back to the mainland, and started to spawn NPCs. Your new little army started to spread rumors that the heroine with the God blade is trying to purge the world and reforge it anew with her new god-like sword. It would soon reach the ears of the other Heroes, however, you also realized that the tale of a girl going to the Lost Lands alone had also spread.

---*---

Keiko still hasn't killed your golems. You could try to attack her again. Maybe if you muster your full divine power, you could put yourself at par with the Godblade.

Have another pair of golems at a distance of 300 meters attack with fire magic.
The golems have some kind of magic drill head and dig themselves out of the sand.
On the opposite side have a giant sand worm burrow out of the ground and attack everything.
>>
Rolled 48 (1d100)

>>44802302
This is a good opportunity to test the blade's capabilities. Let the golems fight with powerful attacks and put pressure on her defenses. Let's see if she is worthy of a story...

Rolled 51 (1d100)

>>44802478
The sword overrides her own abilities, making her better at fighting.
>Infinitos Power #1 discovered: God-tier fighting capabilities.

"The world's core is not to be touched" then >>44802396
Have the golems only working to push her back, but the worm working for a meal. These are both noble goals that people would be pleased with attaining victory.
Yes, it's an attempt to offset her losing being amazing with being 'good'.

Wow, I never expected this thread to be held alive for so long, thanks guys.

I'm sorry for not being able to continue like I mentioned. The things got worse and I had to attend them. Things should be better now though.

I would continue right now, but it's really late here. I'll try tomorrow.

Also, I archived the thread just in case the other day: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=GodBlade

I figure I should get a twitter too, eventually.
