Yeah, you have something else to ask him.

"Then ask it, Matsuda. Or - wait a moment - I think I know what you're going to ask." Your Incubator pauses in his unnatural touch-typing to swivel his round, beady-eyed head towards you, the two spheres of crimson embedded in his skull piercing through yours.

"Let me guess - you were about to ask, with the same absolute lack of respect and basic communication skill that you've always spiced our conversations with - what possible right did I have in authorizing Malal inserting memory-wiping failsafes in your mind, in the worst-case scenario that you remembered who you TRULY were?"

That's...you blink at Kyuubey, momentarily taken off-guard by the clear, almost palpable tone of mounting aggression and anger in your boss' voice. That's...pretty much what you were about to ask, yeah. But you're supposed to be the angry one here! You're the one whose mind was getting fucked with his okay! What fucking business does he have being angry when--

BANG. Loud as a gunshot and brighter than the resultant muzzle flare, one of the flatscreen LCD monitors on Kyuubey's desk array explodes in a sudden shower of sparks and broken glass, cutting you off and making you take a step back.

What the...? What the fuck did just happen?

Suddenly, it's here that you feel it. A pressure. A crushing, stifling heaviness bearing down on you as Kyuubey jumps off of his hilariously-oversized chair, landing lightly on the floor beside his desk on all fours. Stalking towards you slowly, with infinite feline grace.

And for the first time - you find yourself rooted to the spot, frozen, like a deer caught in headlights.
>>
>>44895427

Kyuubey has never been intimidating to you. How could he be? A furry white creature, in the shape and form of a featureless, harmless cat. A form you've always held in snarling contempt, and had made abudantly clear with multiple and recurring attempts of murder. A form that you've kicked, shot and levied a whole range of crippling physical abuse at, whenever you lost your temper or simply wanted to enact a little bit of vindictive cruelty whenever Mami wasn't around to see it.

A form that had shrunk away from you in a recoiling flinch when he saw firsthand what you've become.

But now--

"I was hoping that your colorful, if somewhat brief experience Warmaster had at least taught you something about accountability, Matsuda." Kyuubey's quiet, level voice echoes sharply in your mind, clear as a bell. "Being accountable - responsible - for livelihoods other than your own. LIVES other than your own."

He stares up at you. "If that were indeed the case - and it's regrettably clear that it isn't - then I wouldn't have to explain why I let Malal do what she did. I wouldn't have to explain to my Warmaster WHY I made such a decision, in language that a child would understand."

It's only through force of will that you manage to break whatever spell that the cat had rooted you to the floor with - at least temporarily - and you manage to gasp out a protest. One Kyuubey doesn't seem to hear, or if he does, he ignores it.

"Imagine, Matsuda, that one of your trusted officers finds a bomb in some conflict-ridden hotzone. A bomb that you can certainly use against your enemies, or perhaps even monetize in some way that would turn a profit for you."

[1/2]
>>
>>44895443

"But something is wrong with the bomb. An inherent flaw in its wiring, perhaps, has its timer continuously counting down to detonation no matter what is done. It can't be fixed - it can't be dismantled - and if the countdown does reach its terminus, then everything burns. Not just your life's work, not just the people working underneath you - everything, in a cataclysmic explosion. Everything reduced to ash, everything rendered useless."

"All your other officers are telling you to do the sensible thing, to bury the bomb or jettison it somewhere where its explosion would harm no one. You have no obligation towards the bomb - you have many like it, some more obedient, more profitable than others - just that this one is more dangerous than most. And for a moment, you almost decide to do so - until your most trusted advisor tells you that she has a way to indefinitely delay the bomb's explosion, or at least until a way is found to repair that deadly flaw."

Kyuubey pauses in his lengthy tirade to sit back on his haunches, still staring straight into your soul.

"A failsafe, to reset the countdown whenever it gets too close to its terminus. Something that could be considered cruel, but then again, you do not owe the bomb any favors, you do not owe it any mercy. And you are certainly much more interested in keeping your own struggling organization afloat rather than become the minder of something that could spell the doom of civilization itself - even though at the time you simply had an inkling of its devastating capabilities, and were not told of the entire story. All you had to go on was a favor owed, and a promise to be kept."

[2/3]
>>
>>44895450

He must have seen the look on your face for him to let out a sigh, one that makes him shrug his tiny shoulders, the feline gesture oddly human.

"Matsuda, I allowed Malal to do what she did because it was the only recourse that was available to me at the time. The only recourse that didn't involve having you taken out and shot, or dumped back into the nightmare Tomoe Mami found you in." And then, all at once, the pressure lifts from your shoulders. "It was also the only recourse that Malal would permit me to take - with her calling in all the favors I owed her. And despite everything I've learned from my brothers, everything I've learned from this world, everything I had resembling common sense - I went through with it. Even when you posed a danger to my Officio - and, after your more recent transformation, the entire universe. Apparently."

He stares at you. "Did you really think I allowed it simply because I thought it was amusing to see you stumble around, unable to remember even your own name after your last episode? Did you honestly think I would enjoy something like that?"

How do you react?

Damn, now even the mutant cat is more intimidating than us. We've become full dildo.

Also, if we're the walking nuke here, is Coobie trying to drop us on the First for a reason other than saving mumi? Just a thought after the last thread.
>>
>>44895606
I'm wondering what he kept us around for after Malal died. Maybe he was indeed going to "detonate" us on the First.
>>

Well, my personal opinion is that if the mission of saving goes well, profit. If we enter in combat with The First, then Matsuda will enter Devil Mode and fuck them up, so profit too. PROFIT ALWAYS, BITCH!

It's even more than that I think, bear with me for a moment.

I'm assuming here that Malal told Coobie all the information that he needs. So he knows that Chiaki has to get the golden weapons (otherwise he wouldn't encourage us to get them in the first place), otherwise universe is screwed. Now, for the rest ot the magical world it looks like one crazy incubator tries to equip satan with powerful weapons, who would allow that really. The First finds out and 9th is bacon. So my take on QB's action is: go nuclear, even if it means going against his brothers. He's an incubator with nothing to loose. And that's good, because we're desperate too.

the problem with that is what to write into the title

I guess for this one you could do "An angry Magical Girl gets yelled at by an allegedly emotionless alien" or something, but you can't really do that for each of them without dipping into spoilers/railroading.

Also, if it's a bot, which by it's MO it almost definitely is, there's nothing such as archiving fast enough.

Just like QB said, you haven't learned any responsibility to lives other than your own or even thinking things through.

That would be right if it was just a question of us being the nuke. But the world is going to be screwed even with us hiding in a hole, at least that's what I got from timey-wimey speech from mumi. Coobie knows we're getting close to the endgame, and he has to make a move. But that's just a theory, the thread is still young, Coobie may have other ace-in-the-hole.

Also, I propose we add pic related to the list of people to ask about things. She may not know much, but we made a deal with her, also I want to see what's catte up to.
>>
>>44895909
Mmm... Maybe I indeed have excited too much. What I wanted to say is that our powers maybe can allow us to be powerful enough to prove to The First that they can't defeat us, so they better stay in The Moon killing WPN witches?

>>

> Kharn thinks Mami was a traitor as well, that Homucifer was pulling the strings, and that means that the First might be full of her fucking worshippers.

> And if you think I COULD have been an evil god, well, she's the one behind the golden goddamn weapons and I would say that since she wants me to . . . die? Kill everything? Do both of those things, and somehow be together with her forever?

> She's fucked up, and schizophrenic with also being the Blessed Lady, and she needs to be stopped somehow and I might be the only thing that can do that now.

> Did I mention that she is possibly controlling the First?
>>
>>44896062
>confusing Homucifer with Pinky
Yeah, nah. What he did was right because it's what worked and kept his Magical Girls alive so far.
We needed those memory wipes in the past.
>>
>>44895782
Personally, I think it's time to share all the information with QB. Dude has put all his shit on the line, and at this point since we aren't getting attacked by everything he has, he's pretty much stuck on our side now. He's all in.

So we might as well fill him in on Mami possibly being the traitor, and that she might have gone after the First because they are doing some sketchy shit as well.

Also, let's just move on.

> [X]I don't know what the fuck you find amusing, so maybe. It's kind of hard for me to trust you after multiple memory wipes. Anyone, really. I don't know how much anyone knows, or why Mami would attack the first, or why Kharn thinks she tried to whack ME in the silent room.

- Fuck, you screwed it up big time.

>>
>>44896333
We've been complaining for a long time about not remembering.
But we haven't actually sat a person down, such as Sayaka or Kyouko, and asked them to tell us everything we forgot.
The only time we got close was when we asked Sayaka about the girls that died protecting us.

You...well, you were struck silent by seeing Kyuubey visibly and palpably pissed at you for the first time in your life, but now you're quiet because you can't really -say- anything.

It's not that what he's saying makes an entire world of sense - in fact even you can point out that with his resources, his staff and even fucking MALAL at his side at the time, he could have gone a less memory-rapey route, or at least worked up to it.

But when framed like that, you can see how he arrived at that conclusion. You don't like what he did, sure, but at least you understand why he did it.

And from his explanation, it seems that Malal did quite the job in twisting his furry little arm into it, to the point of breaking it off. And if there's anything an Incubator hates, it's admitting that he got flimflammed and bamboozled - moreso if the culprit was someone other than a fellow Incubator. So no chance of him lying about that, or shifting the blame onto the dead.

So you let him know of your capitulation - or at least, grudging agreement for now - with something you know he'll appreciate: your silence. And he seems to be doing just that, the oppressive mood from earlier lifting, slowly being replaced by something that oddly feels like confession.

Contrition, even, of a sort, which is bordering into the morbidly surreal, especially coming from something as emotionally sterile and coldly pragmatic as an Incubator.

[1/2]
>>
>>44896499

"Of course, I had my doubts, and for a while I resisted her attempts to strong-arm me into relenting. As I'm sure you'll agree, even without taking recent events into consideration, that simply getting rid of you would have been the cleaner, faster resolution." Kyuubey shakes his head, his long ears flapping with the movement.

"But Malal was insistent to the point of monomania. She seemed to have some kind of large, overarching plan in mind, a series of long, over-elaborate gambles that would play out over varied periods of time - from minutes to years, or at least that's what I managed to glean from her own shielded, surface thoughts." He looks at you. "And most of them revolved around you, or someone who would associate with you in some way or form."

The mutant cat bastard pauses for a moment, turning towards his monitor array - and the damaged one still sparking, still smoking as it hung brokenly from its pivot arm - before looking back at you. "She called in every favor, every debt I owed her. Not only to allow her to do what she deemed necessary, but...well, to allow you to flourish. To ensure your safety and professional growth to a point, without overtly influencing your career track as a working agent in this Officio."

You open your mouth to say something here, and he holds up a paw. "No, before you say it, I did not take it upon myself to treat you any different as I would any contractee. I sent you on tasks and missions that any other Magical Girl under my employ would have to undertake to earn her salary AND her keep. I was only made to promise that I wouldn't relegate you to manual, menial labor, nor would I prevent your rise in the ranks simply to keep you out of danger. I was only to treat you as a regular contractee despite your irregular origin."

[2/3]
>>
>>44896422
>>44896441
I still think that's one of the best moments of the quest.
>>
>>44896422
That's pretty much Malal. Just add some fourth wall breaking to the mix.

>>44896447
We did, with Kharn, in Siberia. Didn't learn all that much about ourself though. Except the fact that we really were a pathetic person. I Don't think Sayaka and even Kyoubro knew us well enough to tell us anything of importance.
>>
>>44896137
I find comforting the fact it still doesn't like us. If the fucking incubator ever starts approving of us, it's time to put gun in mouth and end it.
>>
>>44896538
>I Don't think Sayaka and even Kyoubro knew us well enough to tell us anything of importance.
They could have told us of what we did, even if they couldn't tell us how we felt or what we were thinking.

And everything points to us having a great career when Malal was still around, then after she was gone, we had a few legendary exploits with absolutely pathetic performance in between.

We could have learned just what kind of a fuckup we were, and how badly we screwed up right before getting another memory wipe.
>>
>>44896515

Then, your becoming Warmaster--

"--is Tomoe Mami's fault, and hers alone." Kyuubey replies curtly. "Had it been up to me, I'd have overruled her decision and forced Miki Sayaka to take the position. But here we are."

...Yes, here you are indeed. With Mami about to face execution by the First of all things, and you...well, the least said about you the better.

Christ, you murmur to yourself, shaking your head in disbelief. Your knees weak and your head swimming as you try to absorb everything that's been told to you. Feeling an insane need to laugh and cry at the same time, at the sheer absurdity of everything you've ever heard.

This is some shit all right.

Kyuubey is silent for a few more moments before speaking again. "For what it's worth, Matsuda, I did my best to convince Malal to give you peace after the first failsafe was set off. But she was adamant that you'd be able to endure that kind of trauma. Something about your...legacy of being hardheaded, I often heard her telling herself, while she watched you suffer."

You have no other reply than to sink slowly down on the floor, planting your ass on the cold plastek and hugging your knees to your chest. Burying your face into your arms.

"I'm sorry, Matsuda." You hear Kyuubey speak again. "We Incubators are not known for being emphatic, but I would surmise hearing all that didn't help any." There's a note of guilty sheepishness in his voice, one you hear clearly along with his nearly-silent footsteps. After a moment, you feel him sit down beside you. Seemingly trying to commiserate through proximity, like a confused middle manager would to a harried subordinate.

How do you react?

We need to check if the Dolls are still around an if they can do this op since we fucked them up pretty good when we went partial TTO.

Also we need to ask QB if a cloned Mami body could be switched in, or if the execution method involves the Soul Gem and we need to figure out a way to replace that.

No we don't. Removing the memory failsafe was causing all memories to bleed through, and the second trip into Chiaki's Barrier that Midori made was to keep those memories locked behind a door.

For fuck's sake, the Chiaki inside the Barrier said that when she woke up she wouldn't remember this.

No. No, it didn't help any, you murmur as you lift your head just enough to look down at your Incubator. But...well, you suppose you just wanted to hear it from him.

Maybe you just wanted to hear someone say sorry to you and actually mean it.

"I see." Kyuubey replies after a moment. "Matsuda, I--"

You never let him finish his sentence. In a gesture you feel would never have been appropriate except for this particular insteance, you reach out with a hand to touch him - and predictably, he flinches. But instead of shrinking further back or simply just breaking a hasty retreat, Kyuubey seems to stand his ground - not only tolerating yourtouch, but allowing you to pet the soft, bristling fur on top of his head and give it a good scritching with your nails.

"..." The Incubator is deathly silent as you subject him to his treatment, and is silent still, even after you've finished indulging yourself. As you stand up, whoever, it's there that he seems to find his tongue again. At least, he would have, if you didn't pre-empt him this time.

So what's the plan? You ask him as you brush your awkwardly-long hair out with your fingers, before throwing the majority of it over your shoulder with a quick flick of your wrist.

"...Plan? Plan for what, Matsuda?" He asks, clearly puzzled. "I just explained to you why you've been a blank slate for as long as you can remember. If you're asking me what my plan to survive being shot in point-blank range, well, it's mainly by running back up here and having housekeeping dispose of my remains before the ants get here. If that's what gets it out of your system, then--"

No, no, not that. You shake your head irritably. His plan to break Tomoe Mami out of wherever shithole the First Officio is holding her in. Because that's what he was hinting about, right? All that 'only a devil can pull it off' bullshit?

[1/2]
>>
>>44897603

Because while you may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, you know a fucking hint when it's dropped on your lap like that.

Kyuubey stares at you from his spot on the floor, before something approaching amusement colors his words. "...Well. Perhaps I was trying to insinuate something like that, hoping you'd pick up on it, what with your obvious intimacy with Tomoe Mami, but..." He shakes his head. "Matsuda, now that I think more on it, I question the wisdom of actually doing so. This is The First we're talking about. Any other Officio and this would not even be up to debate. But to defy my older brother's ruling, and to oppose his wards..."

The mutant cat bastard glances about his office. "We are not only talking about your destruction if you are caught, Matsuda, but my Officio as well. The First does not tolerate insubordination. It is tantamount to rebellion to him, and he punishes such sins by wiping the slate clean. Purging the existence of the Incubator as well as any contracts he made, to ensure that no one will be around to remember or to avenge."

Huh. Well, at least he's thorough, you smirk. Wondering briefly if you wanted to risk opening your Inventory, to try and rummage for some smokes. Or at least a bottle of whiskey. You know you promised Midori, but with everything you've had to deal with, you feel that you deserve to indulge on some deliberately bad behavior to balance your suffering out.

"Very thorough. He'll even have his Magical Girls - each one an Officio on their own, mind - hunt down any transferees or officers on loan to other Officios, and purge their existence as well. Cutting threads, Matsuda, to ensure nothing can be traced back, that no lingering taint of corruption exists."

[2/3]
>>
>>44897629

He looks back up at you. "What I am saying here, Matsuda, is perhaps we should simply accept Tomoe Mami's fate, and move on from there. We should see her off, of course, and hear her final words - maybe even divine what drove her to such a dismal end - but to rescue her..."

The Incubator's words trail off into silence, the hesitation clear in his voice. Clearly conflicted on what he wants to do and what he says he wants to do.

How do you respond?

[]I'll take the fall for it. Just give me a plan. Something to go on, unless you want me to do what I do best and just show up with a gun in my hand.

But saying you'll take the fall for it just means not telling him about the other assets he can bring in to come up with a better plan.

Also, QB already said that with the First's thoroughness, it won't matter if we take responsibility or not. He'll have the entire Officio razed and QB executed, every single member of the Ninth hunted down and killed no matter where they are in the world, to make sure that all taint of rebellion is destroyed.

Haruka is a traitor to her own Officio (the 3th). She revealed the infiltrators in the 9th after Malal & Co parched back her mind. Kharn wanted to execute her for this, seeing that it was something innoble, but QB decided to keep her to track witches and make a fortune in Wall Street. I don´t jnow how the other Officios see her (or even if they know about her), but among the 9th, she is indeed a traitor

She was one of the Thirds that joined the Ninth. Then she got other former Thirds together and tried to kill Chiaki. So she's a traitor because she tried to kill someone from the Officio that took her in.

>>
>>44898497

>>
>>44898575
And yet it seems like everyone's aboard for jumping right over to the Moon and face-fisting the First.
>>
>>44898462
It's just that I needed to confirm exactly what you were talking about, before telling you that YOU'RE WRONG.

"Mantling" in TES only happens because the entire universe is, in fact, the dream of a sleeping god. And dreams can get fuzzy on details. It's hard for the god's subconscious to keep apart the dreamed characters' identities - so if events approach a climax in a manner that's vaguely similar to something that happened before, it is possible for a pivotal character to switch identities (and thus, power) by fooling the god's subconscious through literally acting similar to the identity they want to Mantle.

None of this applies to either canon PMMM or MGNQ, as this universe isn't a sleeping god's dream.
>>
>>44898554
From where do you get that? QB only mentioned that she was the leader of a group that tried to kill Murderface, but never mentioned that Haruka was already inside. From what I remember, there was groups of megucas from the 3th that refused to join and became rogue, so Kharn, Murderface and Malal hunted them down. One of this groups was Haruka´s group. What´s more, Hat-Chan mentioned in ask.fm that Haruka was convinced by a group of rebels to lead into killing Murderface, wich ultimately ended in Haruka being haunted by Pinky, the same state that she was when Malal found her

For Gods' sake people, keep the violence-boner in your pants, because you're currently in the process of getting rused again. I mean, Kyubey basically just sweet-talked Chiaki into suicide, and in the same breath told her that murdering her had been what he had in mind for her since day one... and now that the last mental leftovers of her patron saint Malal are gone, he has no reason to keep her alive since she managed to break out of even that kind of failsafe and nobody can put a failsafe that strong back.

It's a suicide mission in the most literal sense of the word, it's actually supposed to be suicide and little else.

Yeah, guess what: it's not Mami's execution.

It's Chiakis.

In case you forgot, we had been told (by Kyubey) that Mami went to the Moon BEFORE Midoriquest 2 happened. It was a lie, obviously. Mami never went there, she stayed on Earth and busted into the silent room with Wendy's help when Wendy and Midori entered it, to pull her traitorous shenanigans.

Evidently, whatever Mami pulled, Kyubey had been working for / with her.

This means that he was either complicit or approved of the murder attempt that Mami tried to pull on Chiaki.

So what he's selling Chiaki right now is just continuing the same old con with hopes of making Chiaki put the noose on herself.

Do you have any problems with my logic or are you just shitposting? Because I don't believe I made any errors in that.

Mami gone during Midoriquest and not avaliable for backup because she's supposedly on the moon = true.
Kyubey telling people that she is on the moon = true.
Mami backstabbing Chiaki and Midori with Wendy = true.

So from that point onwards, you can pull whatever logical conclusions you want to pull, but I'm going with the idea that the character who took over the role of Mephistopheles (an actual Devil's Advocate) from the original Faust and just, right now, admitted that he wanted to see Chiaki dead from day one, still wants to see her dead. Not so far fetched, right?

>>44898947
Except that if she does end up there and pulls what she just basically agreed to she'll just be swiftly disposed of, which is exactly the kind of plan I see Kyubey working out. Like, five magical girls worth an officio in fighting power each taking on the giant problem child he's been dragging around all this time? Sounds like an incubator kind of plan.

Kyuubey just needs to give you a plan. That's all you need. Something to go on in the face of the most powerful - and probably the most overrated - Officio around. Unless, of course, all Kyuubey wants you to do is to do what you do best, and just show up with a gun in your hand.

"That's..." Your Incubator looks up at you, incredulous. "Matsuda, I realize up to now that you've relied upon plans and strategies haphazardly thrown together one minute before midnight, and it's been working out with moderate success. And I'll admit, that takes quite a bit of skill, as well as luck, and that's nothing to sneeze at. But I reiterate, this is the First." He shakes his head. "They are not the typical kind of Magical Girl you're used to dealing with, or blowing the kneecaps off of. They're of a completely different breed."

Then that gives them a generous enough handicap, you counter. Of course, you can't help but feel unnerved by this too - you've always known him to be smugly confident about nearly everything in his own quiet, alien way, even if sometimes you can't help but feel that you're just imagining it. To have him admit another Officio's superiority this blatantly, well...you start to wonder if you're rushing into things a bit too quickly.

Then again, if you were the type to actually think things through properly before doing them, everything that had happened up to this point probably would have gone over a bit better, rather than how they actually did.

[1/2]
>>
>>44899097

After a moment, Kyuubey speaks. "I...I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll...I'll see what I can do, Matsuda. I have no guarantees on whether I'll have something that'll work, or if I'll have anything feasible at all, but I'll try." He lets out another sigh. "You must understand that this my talking earlier about attacking the First, of mounting an assault, they were all just hypotheticals. Nothing concrete, just a mental exercise that proves to be entertaining every now and again, and frustrating the rest."

That'll be enough, you tell him. But in the case he doesn't come up with something, you have some deniable assets of your own that you can probably use here, tools that you can use without them being traced back to you.

Your Incubator seems to look uneasy here, and for a moment you thought you saw his fur briefly stand on end. "I...I see. Well, that may prove useful here, Matsuda. But like I've been saying, even if you do somehow manage to shoulder all responsibility for this endeavor, there's no guarantee that the First will see the rest of the Ninth as completely innocent. Casualties may not just be expected, but a certainty.

That's...nh. That's true. That's the last thing you want to happen, of course - you've no plans to risk anyone else's life but your own. But perhaps if you just make it clear enough that you're the one behind it all, to establish that you are working completely solo and without the support of the Ninth, then--

"Perhaps, perhaps." Kyuubey quickly nods. "Like I said, there are no guarantees one way or the other. They are thorough, yes, but perhaps if you project a strong enough identity, something other than the Warmaster of the Ninth, then maybe they wil leave the Officio - and Midori - alone."

[2/3]
>>
>>44899124

You stare at Kyuubey for a while longer, narrowing your eyes at him.

Fucking scheming bastard cat, you knew he was going to trot out Midori in front of you sooner or later.

"I'm simply being the scheming, conniving superior you've always imagined me to be, Matsuda." Kyuubey seems to smirk here. "But as far as planning is concerned, I would like you to at least think it through, once you've made the trip and you're standing in the hallowed walls of the First Officio's base. Make your decision then and there - and we'll deal with the consequences of whatever choice you take."

...Yeah. Alright. You give Kyuubey a small nod, wondering if for once, you've managed to convince your own Incubator of doing something he would really rather not do than the other way around.

It's a strange feeling.

"I never thought there'd actually come a day that I'd be seriously contemplating rebellion against the First," Kyuubey says as he makes his way back to his desk, the broken monitor glowing as it seems to repair itself right then and there.

"Well, perhaps it is a long time coming. I had an inkling that one of us - the Seventh, the Eighth, or myself - would be the one to challenge our eldest brother into a fight we could never hope to win." He chuckles here. "And to think I was the one who did his best to follow the First's footsteps, to live up to the expectations set by him. There's a certain irony here, I think."

Chiaki's execution ? possibly

But everyone seems to think that Mami had to come back to Earth and bust into the Silent Room when Midori and Wendy seems to have walked into yet another Homu-barrier when they entered.

Who's to say Mumi, one of the best and actually still owning a Golden Weapon couldn't find her way in(or have a guide from the First) from the Moon right through the Akashic Realm which is possibly a dimension wholly made of witch barriers ?

Worse still, there could be Magical Girls on the Moon who could send her straight into that barrier and pull her back to the Moon.
>>
>>44899152

He looks at you. "Well, Matsuda. Your trip to the moon is tomorrow night. Make your preparations - you'll be going up there solo." A moment later, and he nods. "You may as well bring everything that you think will give you an advantage if it does come to blows. Otherwise, I suggest you pack light."

...Doesn't really mince words, now, does he?

What do you do now?

[]Ask Kyuubey about his plan. Does it involve a lot of explosives?

The problem with your logic is that, as QB reiterated, the First is still likely to see any violence committed by Chiaki as a sign of rebellion by the Ninth, and will kill every Magical Girl in the Officio and execute QB via atmospheric immolation.

Once, Mami attempting to murder the First Warmaster, can be happenstance. But from how thorough the First has been portrayed to be, he will assume that second is enemy action, and will execute the entire Ninth.

Your idea depends on QB willing to risk his entire Officio and himself to being branded traitors.
It IS far-fetched, and a really stupid idea.
>>
>They are thorough, yes, but perhaps if you project a strong enough identity, something other than the Warmaster of the Ninth, then maybe they wil leave the Officio - and Midori - alone.
Wait, so Coobies is suggesting that we pretend to be TTO or something? Even Chiaki herself identified TTO as someone with her face! That can´t possibly work! And if not TTO, then what identity? Identity, that, by the way, will "casually" have the face of the Warmaster of the 9th

It's because Wendy and Mami had a close relationship that Mami exploited in the barrier.

In case you didn't notice that, in that one storypost where Mami bowled into the barrier and busted everyone to the floor, while everyone was either knocked out or tied up with her ribbons, she went over to Wendy and removed the ribbon her bottom was wearing around her neck.

That's a collar, basically, because Mami and Wendy had it going on BDSM style. She always wore that collar, that collar is the reason Wendy always wore a scarf, so people couldn't see it. But of course, it's still Mami's ribbon, with all the magic bullshit that entails.

The way I see it, either Mami had Wendy cloak her into the barrier or simply used the ribbon around Wendy's neck like a fishing line to draw herself into the barrier along it. Not to mention that Wendy was at least as slavishly devoted to Mami as those girls that had willingly given her their soul gems to use as fucking ammo for the golden musket. I'd implicate her in anything.

Hey how about this one: maybe Kyubey, as the by far most capable earth-bound incubator, simply sat together with his brother on the moon and said:

"Hey bro, ya know, wanna kill the shit out of that chick moonlighting as the Warmaster (top fucking kek she's barely an attack dog) at my officio? I get the feeling she is literally the fucking murder-boogeyman of our species reincarnated."
And the First goes "Sure bro, send her along, I'll have ten of my girls jump her at once, that kkind of threat needs taking care of fast."

Deniability.

If someone kills the Warmaster in her hospital bed people will ask a lot of questions. Before you go >natural causes or >make it look like the barrier killed her after all, no, Warmasters don't die without a fight ever. EVER.

If the Warmaster goes on an attempted murderspree on the Moon and gets wasted in turn (or at least so the official story goes) nobody will bat an eye. Hell they'll probably say she deserved it.

>>
>>44899779
Why would deniability matter? Only the incubators are powerful enough that they might do something about killing a Warmaster, but they don't care. Megucas don't care because who cares about some other officio and they don't matter because Incubators can always contract. Mundies have never mattered and will never matter.

If Kuubi wanted Chiaki dead as much as you say he wants, he would not care about anyones opinion over it.
>>
>>44899788
>maybe it's a branch of the current timeline or something
That would mean that this timeline got reset and looped, because there isn't coming back from a failed Maeorus procedure then killing Misaka and Midori.

>Because I bet my ass Decu specifically said that Officios are a very new thing.
They're relatively new, but this timeline isn't the only one that has them. Previous timelines had them.
>>
>>44899912
Guilty as charged.

>>44899918
No, there's Megucas that would be very upset and also very powerful. The entire Rank leader block and the Equerry in the 9th, basically the whole top floor, would flip its lid. Kyouko and in turn Sayaka would lead the charge, with Kharn hot on their heels, babbies or no. Because nobody buys it that the incubator was too fucking stupid to have the highest degree of safety for his comatose Warmaster.

And with them follows basically the entire rest of the Officio. Not something the Incubator can afford to have happen.
>>
>>44896975
Per Decu, Chiaki does not remember all the details of past timelines.
At most, just the highlights. And even then, he didn't say if she remembers all o them or just the most recent few.
>>
>>44900022
The rank leaders are going to flip regardless if Chiaki dies at this point.

The security that Kuubi brough from outside his own officio she had when she was comatose was for if she woke in a murderrage as much as dafety. Could have killed her and said she did just that.
>>
>>44900121
I wonder if she remembers that Mami is an emotionally Jenga-playing joke of a sempai.
>>
>>44900129
The outside security was literally a redshirt squad. If Chiaki woke with murderrage, as has happened and only cooled off because of Kyouko, she would have busted out her wings and her dolls would have rendered the security team a smear across the ground. The sec team was only there for apperrance purposes, to seem as if he was giving a fuck, while providing warm bodies to get pulped (that he didn't have to pay for to equip) in case of bad stuff happening. If he had actually given a fuck he'd have made up a security team from his own officio, or simply made Kyouko room with her.
>>
>>44900204
Culexus are not redshirts anon. They are the rarest and most effective breed of Meguca outside Maeorus.
>>
>>44900204
Except that the only person who might have been able to fight a raging Chiaki would be Sayaka or Mami, and QB doesn't have any Culexus left so he does have to get them from another Officio.

Using one of his own Eversor teams would have just gotten them killed, if they didn't have Culexus support.
And that's what the security team was, Culexus.
>>
>>44900245
And they die like a bitch to Homusatan because Homusatan does not care for mortals who are not one of the four besties she had across the timelines.
>>
>>44900245
>most effective
You're gonna have to specify that into "most effective anti-meguca breed" - their deep lack of longevity cripples their use.
>>
>>44900309
This is true. Their strength is most effective against other Megucas than against anything else.

>>44900274
And no one knows what Homusatan is capable of outisde Mami, Wendy and Kuubi. Neither Sayaka or Kyoko saw her in action. Regalia broke down after how many days of confiment? They could claim have 'killed' her before she went full rage mode.
>>
>>44900424
>that feel when if chiaki went full homusatan in the first literally everybody there would die and not a singular flying fuck would have been given.
>>
>>44900424
Akuma Homu has plot power. Akuma Homu does not get killed by redshirts, that would be unseemly. Hell, if it came to that I'd expect Faust to come down from the heavens screaming about how "THATS NOT HOW THE STORY GOES YOU PIECES OF SHIT" before flattening all of them into the ground.
>>
Someone please archive~
>>
>>44900457
>>44900462
We are assuming that Chiaki controls her Homusatan powers. Most likely not: she just adquired them . And besides, do you remember the dream with this timeline Homu-who-most-likely-is-from-The-First? We lose that one badly. It´s no going to be as simple as "And then HomuHomu killed everyone with magical bullshit powers and went to drink, smoke and get waifus. End of the story"
>>
>>44900462
Very true, but it still leave us in a situation where a plot to kill Chiaki by sending her to the moon is not viable when, faster, more effective, less messy means of murder were available.

But she already did that, in the barrier. The Golden Weapon Spectres were like beyond-first-tier dangerous and she swatted all of them down just by letting her inner Homusatan out.

Here's another reason for Kyubey to take her to the moon: he knows that trying to get her killed will lead to unbelievable collateral damage, on the kind of level that would have him prefer to have her not even on the same planetary body as him and the rest of humanity. The moon is plenty empty enough for ultra-meguca to have a beatdown without wiping out a couple hundred million lives in the crossfire.
>>
>>44900707
>The Golden Weapon Spectres were like beyond-first-tier dangerous and she swatted all of them down just by letting her inner Homusatan out
2 problems with that: one, is the fact that Chiaki wasn´t herself, so is safe to nassume that "that"Homusatan is not Chiaki, and two, if is really Chiaki, then is clear that she lost her mind when she goes full Devil, and that means that even if she wins the battle, she doesn´t have to do as we want, because is like another personality.
Also, I want you to read this great post: >>44895909
>>
>>44900837
Well no shit, I've been arguing all this time that Chiaki has no fucking business being on the moon!

Just check on Wendy, get her side of the story, get the confirmation that Mami never was on the moon and never intended to go there, see the gaps in the Incubators web of lies and track down where Mami is (on Earth, obviously) to iron this pile of shit out!
>>
>>44900895
And when Wendy doesn't give confirmation that Mami hadn't left Earth, and in fact Mami had gone to the Moon, what then?
When you get proven to have been wrong?
>>
>>44900895
And as I have posted in this same thread: even if IS a trap (wich I doubt), we have to go to The Moon to attend the "execution", so pack your bags, we go on a ride whenever you like it or not
>>
>>44900895

"Well brother, it seems that my Warmaster has indeed discovered that we have a plan to get rid of her, so send your megucas here and finish her" wich lend us to the same result but with our Officio having many casualities.
Besides, you don´t have any concrete evidence that proves that what you are saying is true, so things like >I won't because I'm not.
only prove that you need to take out your head from your ass

I still wasn't proven wrong on any of the facts I provided, mind. If anything you have an issue with the conclusions I draw, I'd like to see the ones that you would draw. To quote from further up:

Mami gone during Midoriquest and not avaliable for backup because she's supposedly on the moon = true.
Kyubey telling people that she is on the moon = true.
Mami backstabbing Chiaki and Midori with the help of Wendy = true.

>>
>>44901170
>I still wasn't proven wrong on any of the facts I provided
And still hasn´t proved that you are right in anything. The thing is that you are convinced of what you are saying without leaving the door to the other option opened.
Ok, anon, look, I´m Spanishfaggot, the guy who posted the theory in thread 274 about Hazuki not being this timeline Homu due to a draw Decu made. Even if I was convinced about what I wrote back then, I always had in mind that I could have been wrong. You, on the contrary, have just assumed that are right and decided that we need to act according to your theory wothout further proof. What >>44900969
posted is true: we can´t afford to disobey The First, so this post >>44900895 has no sense at all. We ARE going to The Moon, and if by some chance you are right (because yes, you can be right about your prediction), then The First is comig for us. So, as someone posted before, if we are going to face The First in our Devil mode, is best to do it on The Moon to reduce casualities

Has Pinky ever expressed an opinion about Mami?
Because a quick time stop-enabled soul gem switcheroo would be pretty ideal for saving Mami's life, ignoring everything else

I never heard of that theory. The good thing about my theory is that it can be verified in three threads at the very most, at a very low effort, in a course of action that is now practially assured (visiting Wendy).

And I am just pulling basic logic out of the drawer. I'm not going out on a limb when I say that the Incubator is evil, that's the entire premise of the franchise. I also see how you failed to show up any mistakes I made.

I know my theory sounds outlandish because it goes against what major characters have told to Chiakis face, but the fact of the matter is that all the characters that have done so have been proven time and time again as massive fucking liars. Namely Kyubey.

Try to disengage from the forced perspective of Chiaki and look at the quest world a little more objectively. There is no reason to trust the alien. There is every reason to double check, verify and look for alternate ways to get out of this shit.

Hell, what I'm personally banking on is that finding Mami chained up in some 9th officio basement will send Chiaki into such a rage that she'll muscle down on the Incubator and tell him that if he doesn't want his real body to be flayed from existence by her dolls he should try not treating the reincarnation of the boogeyman of his species like a play puppet. Because if Kyubey has proven himself to be anything, its selfish and mercenary, even towards the rest of the incubator race.
>>
>>44901602
And in the case Wendy can´t provide any reliable info? And if we don´t find anyone chained in the Officio basement? We have confirmation that Midori succeded in passing the memories to Mmai, and Decu confirmed that Mami feels guilty about what happened.
Now, I want to ask you: when all is said and done, how do you plan to fight The First? Because is clear that if we don´t go to them, they will come for us
>>
>>44901599
Most likely Pinky is not going to help. Remember that she takes pleasure in seeing Chiaki suffering
>>
>>44901599
Pinky likes Mami's pancakes, but she'd gladly kill Mami if it means more suffering from Chiaki.

Not at all. The situation will develop into something we cannot predict from where we stand right now before that point. I suppose it all depends on what Chiaki aka us will be able to choke out of the Incubator.

If he can be made to actually support Chiaki, maybe all that we'll have to do is have him call up the First and blow off the assassination plot, given that Chiaki can be assumed to be in control of her powers and not about to go ahead and wipe out the Incubator race. At least as long as Kyubey stops trying to fuck with her.

After that, well, it seems like Chiaki ran out of enemies by now. All that's left is to go ahead and scour the world for the other Golden Weapons, now that she's actually in control of her officio like she ought to have been from thread 100 or so, and after that's done start the endgame with Madoka. I know that someone in the First has like five, maybe Chiaki can fight her for them in an honor duel.

If he does not support Chiaki after she has found out what he plotted against her, well... at that point all I can see happening is that she will sic her dolls on him until nothing is left of his existence anymore. From that point onwards we're really cooking with gas, since that would mean more or less declaring war on the Incubators, and I am not sure if I would prefer this one or the other option because while the former one pleases my sense of right and wrong, this one here pleases my sense of blood and justice.

>If anything you have an issue with the conclusions I draw, I'd like to see the ones that you would draw.

You asked for it:
- the're two Mami clones, the first is earthbound, the seconds lives on the moon
- Mami that's about to be executed is the real Mami, the one that tried to off us is Candeloro.
- there's actually no moonbase.
- there's actually no moon.
- we're still in the barrier in Regalia.
- we're still in Midori's illusion.

All three of your fact are actually a one single fact: that Mami is known to be somewhere where she wasn't. Going from that to that QB master plan is a long shot at least. Don't get me wrong, I don't think you're theory is necessarily wrong. It's just far from 1000% future canon.

I'm still convinced that the biggest twist of mgnq will be that QB will never be truly a bad guy. But for now we have to agree to disagree.

>>44901882
It depends on how far from the planned despair event horizon we are. I guess, not that far.
>>
>>44901945
>call up the First and blow off the assassination plot, given that Chiaki can be assumed to be in control of her powers and not about to go ahead and wipe out the Incubator race. At least as long as Kyubey stops trying to fuck with her.
"Hey, bro! Guess what? The bitch that destroyed our race, the thing we all fear? She is here, in my Officio! And in CONTROL OF HER POWERS! Yeah, she said she doesn´t want to kill us, so is cool. But she is under my command alone! So, have a good day!".
Let me put this:
"Hello Goverment! I have in my possesion an opeartive nuclear warhead. Don´t worry, is not going to explode at any moment, but only I have control over it! So, have a good day!"
Now, traitor, be sincere: What do you think will happen in this two situations?
>>
>>44902114
>"Hello Goverment! I have in my possesion an opeartive nuclear warhead. Don´t worry, is not going to explode at any moment, but only I have control over it! So, have a good day!"

You know, you basically described the plot of MGS on a whole and also the cold war right there. Protip: anyone with a brain will not make any overt moves against you while that thing is operable, and I don't see Homu going out of comission any time soon, at least not before she found all the golden weapons.

Come to think of it, this actually sounds like the safest option to fight the First. Anything else would be putting them on equal footing, this would force even them to back the fuck off and consider what the hell they're up to. Raw power is cute and all but Madoka and Homura literally run this reality, you don't argue with reality warpers who managed to get both control of their powers and control of their mental faculties.
>>
>>44902114
>that analogy
>>44902280
>MGS PW
All we need to do is to get a Homusatan clone for every officio, so we can achieve balance through homunuclear detterence.
>>
>>44901945
You assume that QB is trying to assassinate Chiaki right now, that he has a plan to do so with the First, and that the First will stay his hand from sending everything at his disposal at the entity that killed his entire race.

All your facts can just as easily support:
Mami used one of the First's Teleporters.
She attempted to murder the Warmaster of the First in an attempt to eliminate the other Homura who could be used by TTO, after she received Midori's memory dump.

The facts that you hold up as being so crucial to your ideas are not in doubt, just as that there are spirits inside the Golden Weapons not in doubt.
But the conclusions you draw are so outlandish, based on information known both in and out of character.
>>
>>44901170
>Mami gone during Midoriquest and not avaliable for backup because she's supposedly on the moon = true.

The Moon has teleporters. Mami can hop from the Moon, to Earth, and back, without issue. Unless we have someone with evidence that Mami was on the Moon and in Chiaki's barrier at the same time (which we don't) the two aren;t mutually exclusive.

>Kyubey telling people that she is on the moon = true.

Yup.

>Mami backstabbing Chiaki and Midori with the help of Wendy = true.

No, that's supposition.

Remember, we already know that using a target device you can teleport from the regular wolrd into a barrier, the Akashic Realm, etc: Tiny Pete's Teleport Device.
Mami put a Ribbon around Wendy's neck, as a condition for her staying in Mitakihara without Mami killing her.
Mami teleported from the Moon into Chiaki's barrier using the ribbon as a target.

> I'm going with the idea that the character who took over the role of Mephistopheles (an actual Devil's Advocate) from the original Faust and just, right now, admitted that he wanted to see Chiaki dead from day one, still wants to see her dead. Not so far fetched, right?

It is when he's thrown away EVERY OPPORTUNITY PRESENTED TO HIM ON A PALTTER TO OFF CHIAKI. He turns down killing her while unconscious with the helpful nearby disposal hired goon squad he can blame and then liquidate, and isntead uses some cockamamie plan that will either fail and have Chiaki surive, or succeed and have him killed in retaliation? Yep, pretty far fetched.

>>44899469
That shit is nicely backed up by writing both in the quest and in writeups posted down as thread accompanying pieces. Wendy's her bitch, that's as blunt as I can make it. Why involve the First if you have an insider right in the damn barrier? You don't need a teleporter for that, not if you're Mami. Don't forget that her guns are technically also just her ribbons.
>>
>>44902542
>insider
Nope. not even a Trojan Horse. A Patsy. You think Wendy just went "yeah, I've risked my life to smuggle Midori into the barrier for no good reason, now to fulfil my actual purpose and tug on the ribbon or something to summon Mami to murder Chiaki"?
>>
Is Mami perhaps laying a trap of her own? Called in some favors to the first, arranged to be 'executed' and is prepping to murderzone Chiaki once she gets up there?
>>
>>44902603
Well, to put it like this: you know Mami pulled the ribbon off her, right? Why do you think she did that? It's a BDSM thing explained in the writeups surrounding the two of them. Basically, its a mark of trust, from both sides. Mami removed it because a) she still has a conscience and b) she knows she betrayed that trust that Wendy put into her. I'll bet you marrow and bone that Wendy's about as heartbroken as she could be right now.

>obviously. Mami never went there,
>>
>>44902682
But that doesn't mean that she didn't use a teleporter from the first. All it does is show that Mami had some way to track Wendy.

Fact: Mami had a way to track Wendy
Conjecture backed by what we've seen so far: Mami used a teleporter to get into the barrier, just like Tiny Pete's beacon allowed him to home in Midori.

This fact does not imply that Mami stayed on Earth, only that she has a means of tracking Wendy.
>>
>>44903416
I think that's too complicated. Why would she be up there then? So she went up to the First to take a teleporter into the heart of her own officio, instead of using one down there? Where literally everyone jumps when she wags a finger at them? Why, to involve as many people outside of the Need To Know circle as possible?
>>
>all of this planning
>we're probably going to walk in and start shooting the second we get the option to do so
>>
>>44903846
Because there are no Culexus left in the 9th to operate a teleporter.
>>
>>44903908
Since when do you need a Culexus to operate a teleporter? Tiny Pete gets along fine without one.
>>
>>44903948
Since we needed Yuma to operate the teleporter that got us both in and out of the Akashic Realm.

Since we saw the Culexus operating the teleporter in the Yuma flashbacks to Walpurgisnacht.
>>
>>44904029
Must be older and shitty tech then given that a locator armband can move a nine foot metal monstrosity with the same precision.
>>
>>44903846
My opinion is that she went to patch things with Vintage because QB told her to do so, but secretly she wanted to use the teleporter to kill Chiaki and save the world. She simply used a First teleporter because she was there: if she wouldn´t be in The Moon, then she would have used a 9th teleporter, or enter Regalia by another means. The thing is, that the moment she saw the wings, she planned to assasinate Chiaki. The trick was when and how to do it
>>
Holy shit, I miss two threads and this happens?

The first executing Mami conveniently solves that problem without putting us on the express train to bad end.

I say we go there, be diplomatic with the first, and figure out exactly what went down.
>>
>>44904345
Would ya read the thread kindly
>>
>>44904058
We should talk to our midget mechanic about what we're going to do and if we can get any help. She probably misses us, too.

Also see if we have any assets ALREADY in the First Officio. Kharn probably knows where some bodies are buried.
