You're a Cave Hydra, big and mighty. And right now you're in a quite the situation, and it all started when you decided to venture to the surface.

Following the dwarven caravan, you decided to see what's around, what kind of terrain is up here, this leaded you into an encounter with an undead, and from there the ball rolled down nonstop. Going through a few rooms filled with petty enemies and tricks, you've finally managed to swallow the bipedal responsible for this mayhem and broken rules of Nature.

However, exactly the moment you swallowed your opponent, four figures emerged from the entrance to this room, all staring at you for while, so you decided to return the favor by staring back. The tallest bipedal is completely covered in shiny rock, wielding a softly glowing big, sharp stick, the most prominent feature of it is that the aura it emits feels natural, as if this was nature itself standing in front of you. Second tallest bipedal has a jumping stick in his hand, he's also green skinned and has tusks growing out of his mouth. The third in line is covered in white robes, akin to the one you've just swallowed, only difference being the colors, his are white, the one that's now acting as energy source in your stomach had black ones.

And the last one is tiny, even smaller than dwarves, her skin is brown, tanned, and she's wearing a thin cloak that's at least about twice her size for only one reason you can think of, to hide her tininess. She's also holding a pair of equally puny, although wicked looking sticks.

You're in no haste, running with your stomach partially filled isn't good either, so you decide to wait and see what they do.

The first one to do anything is the tallest bipedal, it reaches for the head part of its armor and takes it off, now you understand why it gave such aura. It's an elf, golden, long hair falls from under the helmet and the prolonged ears that reach the top of its head makes you wonder how did they fit inside such tiny space. It approaches you first as well, you're not afraid of it, you can sense that it's very much pure in its intentions, however, the green-skin behind it raises your suspicion a bit.

They stop just outside of your extended limb range, the tusked man dropping his bow and extending his arm towards you in a brutish, but careful manner, trying not to anger you. Once his arm extends far out, he moves his fingers which gain your attention, then he snaps them and a flicker of neon green light appears from between the finger tips.

"Can you hear me, Hydra?"

That voice was none of your heads.

"How does he do this? I can hear him in my head."

"Is he a secret Hydra? He doesn't smell like our kin."

Your heads discuss, but he seems to not even notify that, it would appear that this shocking, sudden communication is linked only with you, the others can only listen, but speak only with you only.

>"What are you doing here is my question."

"I've destroyed the source of the undead." You reply, lowering your head to have easier time looking at the now quite interesting green skin.

"And I am the one supposed to ask why you're here."

With a huff through your nostrils, you force a reply, the tusked bipedal steps just a bit back to be safe, showing that he's lacking in experience and bravery to face you. Then you him whispering to the elf, to which the long ear replies with a whisper as well.

"We've come for.. What you have eaten."

"I am not vomiting him back, I am still hungry."

He chuckles, whispering again to the elf, at this point you realize that he's relaying information and that the elf is the one you really should be talking with.

"How can you speak to us. You don't smell like Hydra." You inquire, interrupting their talk, you care little for them if you have to be completely honest, but the possibility to talk with a bipedal piqued your interest.

"I can commune with all sort of beasts. I have special powers, let's leave it at that.... We're thankful for your.. Assistance, but, we need proof of his death."

"Why do you need proof? If you need it so badly, wait a few days, you can have what's left of him then." You say, the first response is for the translator to turn and bend over, huffing loudly before relying the information which puts a sign of disbelief and annoyance on the face of the elf before whispering back.

"There is someone who wants to be sure of his death, if he gets proof, we will get money."

"What's money?"

"We use money to get tons of stuff, like, water, better weapons, food."

"Food?"

"He said food." One of your heads comments, slightly excited.

Now you just might consider their request under one condition.

"I will vomit him out if you give me food. Lots of it.. Especially the feathery small bipedal meat." You say, remembering that you didn't really got to eat it the first time, of course your heads wiggle around from happiness, since you ordered their current favorite.

"..Hold on." He replies and takes the elf back to the group and then they start a heated discussion.

You don't bother with listening, you won't understand a thing, but you see that the tiniest of them all is also the most prone to angry gestures as it waves between you, them and the stitched monster, yelling across the entire room. The robed man sounds so quiet you aren't even sure if he's taking part in the talk, although you do see him move his mouth ever so often.

But the leader definitely is the elf, because after some time you see it stomp down and wave out every argument everyone suggested and pointed at you. This took a while for everyone, especially the puny one to digest, but eventually, the green skin and the elf return.

"Deal. Give us his body."

A promise is a promise, and you will keep your part of the deal.

Your head reels back and then you start making pumping motion with your neck, swallowing air while tightening your stomach, trying to force a gag reflex. After finding that it doesn't work, you try to make more powerful pumps.

Soon enough, the strategy of slow but strong works and makes you vomit whatever you had in your stomach. You feel it go down your neck, getting stuck midway before being pushed by a mix of stomach acid and saliva going right behind it. And so the mangled body of the necromancer splashes down, partially chewed by your organism from the inside. The splash staining whoever happened to be too close, which was the elf, who didn't look like that bothered it.

After digging out the bit of robe that got stuck in between your teeth with your claw, you stomp about a little, you can't deny your excitement over the fact that you're going to eat something, according to your heads, very tasty.

They don't bother with taking the entire body, you see the tiniest of them all grab something from his neck before cutting off the head and putting both things into its bag before nonchalantly going back to the exit.

"Follow us." the green man says, doing the same.

Walking was not part of the discussion, but you'll chew it through.

They walk all the way back to the place where the caravan entered, entering even through the same gate before which you parted ways with it.

"Stay here, we'll buy you the chickens."

So they're called chickens.

"No, I already had to walk, I am going all the way until I get my food."

"...No, you see-"

"There's nothing stopping me for having you four for food instead." You growl, lowering your head right over the green-skin.

"...Right, just a moment, let me talk this over."

And he runs back to the group, and the heated discussions begins anew with the same route as before. The tiny is angry, the robed man speaks little to nothing at all, tusked bipedal is standing there holding his head while the elf boils up before figuratively exploding and giving an ultimatum to everyone that they have to follow.

This however is enough time to consider getting rid of the undead stench off of you. Licking doesn't work, so you have to improvise a bit, you roll on the water in powder, letting it soften the blood before you stomp over to the trees to scrub it off as next step. This is rather a crude way of bathing for you, but you'll work with what you have. Running water would be nice you think.

Eventually, the entire group approaches you, and you spot the one who can talk with you holding a hefty amount of rope in his hand.

"Okay, so... You can walk with us, BUT.. We have to put this on all of your heads, and then you have to follow us, all the time, no straying off." He says, raising his arms and showing the huge loop at one of the ends.

You huff, outright scolding them with your action before you lean in to the green skin.

"Fine, tug on it though and I will eat you. Slowly." You loom over all of them, your heads following your example and hissing in unison, trying to magnify your try of being menacing. Which seems to work, because starting with the tusked man, they all nod rather vigorously.

All of you lowers yourself before pressing in your necks, letting the jump stick wielding man put the leash on you and tighten it so it doesn't simply fall off to the bottom of your necks, putting extra care as to not brush against your mouths or pull too harshly.

The biggest one in their team, the elf, grasps the rope first and leads, the second biggest one right behind it while the others don't bother standing even near you. And they lead you into the village, and the first thing that you notice is that everything is cramped.

These weird, out of place caverns are set so closely, even the bipedals sometimes have trouble going through, thankfully everyone runs away from you or just point at the ones leading you ad nodding with the utmost respect in their eyes, which is weird to you, they didn't do anything praise worthy.

The tiniest one separates from the group and runs off into a different road while you keep walking to this humongous place. The little wooden cavern is surrounded by a tiny fence, but the circle of this fence is huge, outright ridiculous, almost like the room where you fought the chimera, and in it.

Chickens, and the horned beasts, everywhere, eating various things. Needless to say, you have to stomp around your foot.

"Wait for us to bring them to you, please, I'm really begging you, wait for Hira to come back with money." the tusked man says.

>"Hira? That's how you call the puniest ones?"

"Hira? That's how you call the puniest ones?" You inquire, swallowing your saliva to not drool, something your heads are failing a bit at doing.

"Yes, no. Yes and no. That's.. Her personal name."

"What do you mean personal name?"

"We all name ourselves on top of our race name. I'm Holgrum, and I am an orc." You shake your head in confusion, having to wait and let this slowly sink into your brain(s). This is overly excessive, why bother with another name when you're already called? This is so stupid.

"He.." Holgrum points at the robed man. "..is Edward, a human, and this is Cleriori, an elf."

Even elves do this, why is every bipedal so stupid.

"So what is Hira's actual name?"

"What do you mean? Oh, you mean that, she's a halfling. Speaking of which." He raises his hand and points behind you, at the surprisingly fast Hira, or rather, halfling.

The bag is handed over to the elf, who then enters the cavern and later on, returns and yells out to the orc.

"Just a bit more, we bought the chickens. We have to get them now."

>"Why I can't just eat them now?"

"Why I can't just eat them now?" You whine, settling yourself down and looking straight at the orc, who now seems quite troubled.

"Well... Uh, we all made some, like... Deals, and like, we have to make exchanges before we get our deals?" He mumbles out, looking at you with quite worried expression, hoping that anger is the last thing on your mind. He's partially true on that hope.

"It's like.. A social construct, we keep our deals, I suppose."

This makes no sense to you, they already gave the thing called money to the one in possession of the chickens, you should be able to just walk up there and eat them, in the end, trying to understand bipedals is a futile endeavor. You'll just wait.

You see bunch of men go out into the field and start snatching the chickens, packing them up, you see in just how much of a hurry they are in, their hands just shaking vigorously and almost screaming whenever they look at you. You didn't even do anything yet, this slowly questions if all the trouble that was in getting here is worth it.

It is.

They're presented to you in a huge box, all screeching in their tongue about, trying to escape before you devour them. And now you sense the reason why your heads freaked out. Crunchy, tasty, juicy, this is everything you can ask for in a food. If they only weren't bite sized.

You burp, finishing the last of the chickens, smacking your lips as you feel yourself slowly getting sleepy, you overate, but honestly, it was worth it, you deserved it too.

"...Sooo... Cleriori wanted to know. What's your name?" Holgrum asks, stepping in closer more boldly, you are not sure if it's because you're satiated or because their full team is here.

>"I'm a Cave Hydra."
>"What name? Given name? I don't have a given name, I don't need it."

"I'm a Cave Hydra." You reply before rolling over onto your back to let your belly accommodate the amount of food it just withstood on top of being finally able to rest from near constant vomiting. You're not afraid of being this vulnerable, none of them feel like they're about to attack you, and if the elf is worth anything still, it won't let them hurt you anyway as long as you remain innocent.

"No. I mean like.. This was a good enough of an answer." The orc mumbles before looking back at the elf and saying something, then he sits down on the edge of the box and falls into a deep thought, as if trying to process information on something.

"Do you dislike the undead as well?" You ask, not wanting the awkward silence ruin your about-to-nap time.

The orc perks up suddenly at this question, surprised that you asked something like this, then he turns to the arguing trio behind him and probably relays the message. And the elf perks up first and says something.

"Yes."

Well, such short of a word doesn't need explanation, and you're not surprised by the fact that the elf was first to reply, what however surprised you was how quickly it took it to do so, almost immediately after Holgrum relayed the question. And with such unnatural, as if inflated anger.

The rest reply with the same notion, nodding while looking surprised. Which once again, surprises you in return.

"Good." You reply to the orc before you nestle yourself in, you hear some words of surprise echo from them and the inside of the wooden cavern, but you can't care less about them and promptly fall asleep.

You wake up much later, in fact, it's night, something that's basically all the time down under, you sense that the rope is still around your necks and now starts to slowly turn very, very annoying, you will have to deal with it soon.

The cavern which the bipedals use is.. Set on fire, or so you think, the small holes are lit, emitting warmth, unlike the mushrooms which only glow. However, you're not in haste to actually bother with a fire, this isn't your problem, so firstly you stretch and go through your morning routine before checking the box that's still out in the open for anything to munch on, sadly, you see only scrapes, which you eat to satiate the wake up hunger for at least a moment.

Now you're ready to see what the light is about, you extend your necks and peek inside, only to find some useless things inside, but you are surprised, this is a multi level cavern. On a flat piece of wood, you see a jar with fire contained inside, and around that jar, you spot the group you've met before and some other people who must be the ones who gathered your food.

They all rush inside, the orc approaching you and extending his arm, you follow it and then spot the neon green flicker again.

"You gave us a lot of trouble. We all must leave now."

"Why? I can stay here while you go. All I did was just nap."

"You see.. That's, uh, exactly our problem. You see, we have some rather.. Strict rules as to who can stay in a village, and sadly, for you, giant Hydra's that tower over everyone and can eat them in one bite scare everyone and make everyone juuuust kind of irritated and mad. Believe me when I say that if we leave now, we will be fine."

Well, while you don't understand why anyone would get mad at you, or irritated, or scared at the matter because all you did was eat something rightfully yours and then you fell asleep for a bit in a reasonably unused place. But at this point you might as well try to stop trying to understand the bipedals at this point, they will never make sense to you.

"Okay, but where are you going?"

"We? We'll just wander about, see the world I guess, prove that we can do anything, get rich or famous, or both at once, or all three at once." The orc grins for a second before turning into a hurried, worried look on his face, however, the idea of wandering about doesn't seem too bad of a life style, you can see it merits, mainly in the chickens.

Whats it with you and oddly seconding things that aren't even write ins?

>"Can I follow you?"
>>

He's probably on his phone.
>>
To clarify just incase

>"Remove the rope and I will go."

Means you will go back to your nest, it's just a more polite way of doing so rather than just ripping it. You know, to not make them feel inferior by showing that you could set yourself free any time.
>>
>>45031146
>>Don't say anything, just rip the rope and go back to your nest, this day was crazy enough for you.
That's enough adventuring for today. Besides, I'm not too keen on becoming a group of adventures pet.
>>
>>45031146
>"Can I follow you?"
I'm surprised so few of you want to go adventuring.
>>
>>45031146
>"Remove the rope and I will go."
I think we can have our own adventures without this party.
>>
Iiiit's 4 for following 4 for going back to your nest.

I will wait 5 minutes since the post, if by then the lead won't be taken, I'll roll.
>>
>>45031146
>"Can I follow you?"
Adventure Ho!
>>
>>45031231
Changing the second one to
>"Can I follow you without the rope?"
>>
>>45031381
That only encourages samefagging.
>>
>>45031381
>"Can I follow you?"
>>
>>45031366
Same. I like the idea of wandering through dungeons and shit by our self and ruining possible encounters for future adventurers.
>>
Well, following them wins.

Writing.
>>
>>"Can I follow you?"

"Remove the rope and I will follow you."

"Sure, lean in... Wait what?"

"I'll follow you."

"Are you.. Hold on hoold on. You just.." He falls into deep thought before raising his opened hand towards you, as if motioning for you to stay as he rushes in back into the wood cave. Soon after that, you hear the halfling just burst out into a yell for some reason, angrily discussing something before you hear a smack of flesh being hit and then suddenly, she stops yelling. But soon after that, sounds of pushing and general commotion happen, all while the bipedals here, dwarves and what you assume to be humans start to gather around with random sticks, looking at you angrily.

But before they do anything, the four bursts off, all in a rather angry mood while the orc motions for you to lean in. He cuts the rope after you follow his instructions and then keeps running, motioning you to follow him.

"This is best idea, more food."

"I don't know, we still have that Grick in our cave, a waste of food."

"Who cares, we get more chickens if we keep following them."

Your heads argue while, now five of you, escape through the gate and burst off into seemingly random direction. You pass the caravan and the duo of dwarves who fed you earlier, looking equally shocked as before.

Well, this is a definitely a new act in your life.

>End of Thread.

Well, it was a thread and a half. I can stick a bit for a QnA.

Thanks for running!

Next possible chance to run and epilogue where we raise our babis and tell them of the delicious food we ate.

No anon,

Thanks YOU for playing. Quest isn't a quest without players.
>>
>>45031608
How do hydras rear their children and what happened exactly since I'm a bit lost.
>>
>>45031608
Will we meet other animals we can talk to, or will it mostly be discussions with our selves?
>>
>And as the last Necromancer dies, and the remnants of the knowledge of the dark art burns to be forgotten forever, the people will ask
>"Hydra, why did you help us?"
>And we shall reply:
"For chicken."
>>
>>45031608
Will you add an adaption mechanic or would we need magic/potions to have one?
>>
Honestly i don't know what to expect from becoming part of this team.
We can't speak to npcs or party members.
Common places are inaccessible.

I have a bad feelings about this.

>>45031608
Thanks for the thread. next one when ?
>>
>>45031608
Do Hydra's have anything special happen to them like go in heat or more aggressive/hungry.
>>
>>45031699
No idea anon, probably in the future.

>>45031717
It's basic stuff. You hatch, get taught shit as soon as possible and then you're on your own, hiding till you're big enough to handle stuff that would previously eat you.

>>45031737
You will find other animals to talk with, be it via gestures or actual language, aka another hydra. But all in due time.

>>45031765
The only adapting you'll have is figuring out weak spots of the enemy, like you did with the undead. Otherwise, forbidden potions, horrible mutations from magic and yatta yatta. Also stuff you'll be given by your humanoid partners.

>>45031782
If not tomorrow, then after tomorrow.
>>
Will there be Halfling bullying?
Cause I wanna bully the Halfling.
>>
>>45031811
A-Anon-kun, please, not in the thread...

>>45031816
Maybe, no promises.
>>
>>45031813
So what was the situation that happened that a fight broke out.
>>
>>45031854
Not following you exactly, can you elaborate anon?
>>
>>45031874
I belive Anon is wondering why the adventurers are pissed.
>>
Well, I must go now.

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/45028146/

For the anon, if you mean the fight right after you suggested to follow them. Put yourself in their perspective.

They get cheated out of a job, then outright blackmailed by a hydra which later says that will follow you. All of this happens in otherwise normal, rather run of the mill day. Add short temper of a short folk, and you get a fight.

Also, they're adventurers, I mean, they've let you into a village, that's not something a sane person would do, and we all know that adventurers are whole different type of person.
>>
>>45031951
i don't know why but blackmailed by a hydra really cracks me up
