Interlude: Fell in love with a girl

It takes a moment of decompression and shallow frequent breaths as you fall with your back against the door for what just happened out there to really hit you. A giddy sensation course through you and becoming a quake of giggling laughter as you pull your arms into your core and and then settle yourself.

After that moment in the dark, you ran all the way home. Hard and fast you ran all the way home after your talk with Mikage, flush with the excitement of your confession and response to her earlier unexpected claim.

“I could do it,” you say through the last vestiges of your excited and happy laughter as your push off the door and spin in an impromptu dance leaving your shoes behind, “I could write loyalty and read it as love,”

Pausing, you smooth down your skirt and sit suddenly on the couch.

“Did I come on too strong?” you worry, “Did I tease her too much?”

Shaking that doubt and concern, you sigh and relax as your mother comes down from upstairs, unexpectedly clad in comfortably casual looking attire.

“Kairi, honey,” she asks as she comes up alongside the couch, “Would you be okay to take a ride with me?”

There is a note to her voice that is unfamiliar, worry of some kind.

“Is everything okay?”

“Yeah, it’s just,” she pauses and takes a breath, “There’s something I need to tell you. Someone you need to meet,”

Quest Start

Stepping through the streets of Juuban intent upon heading to Shinjuku clad in high heeled sandals, short shorts, and a cute t-shirt top with your cropped jacket buttoned; you are left lament that the lasting heat of summer is finally beginning to fade into the fall. Oddly enough it has taken over a month into the new school term for that pervasive warmth to even start to pull way. With certainty, you’ll miss it.

Especially now that YOU take a certain thrill of dressing scandalously down in it. Without your tanning spread, you pick up the pace on your mission while gleefully showing off your legs. You are quite proud of all the effort you put into your legs.

You are Mikage Chiba, second year highschool student fifteen years old, and you were formerly the third woman to carry on as the Pretty Guardian of Love & Justice known as Sailor Moon. Now that mantle, once carried by your mother and elder sister, is worn by your younger sister Koyomi Chiba. Secretly, you’ve been supporting her and her new court of young Sailor Guardians as the mysterious hero known as Eclipse. Why did you quit being Sailor Moon, a traumatic victory, in which you couldn’t heal someone you promised to save and thought yourself responsible for a death that had actually happened some months prior to your intervention.

It made you hide from who you were, what you thought you had done, and the people who loved you. It made you break yourself apart just to have a semblance of normality when you couldn’t deal with your own world. These parts, you are only just recently getting to put back together toward being whole.
>>
>>45116345

Presently you are clad in clothes you used to only wear as your cultivated and formerly splintered Ganguro fashion enthusiast identity, Miki. The point of this identity was to be noticed, loved, and adored; all things you sought to deny yourself out of guilt. Now those things have been returned to you in full, making it much easier to be a sociable individual.

And it makes it easier to go to your preliminary measurement and fitting appointment made for Miki without too much fuss. Your secret is out among the fashion circle Miki belongs to, so you aren’t too worried about prodigy fashion designer Yukiko Akiyama seeing you without your tanning makeup on. Which isn’t to say you’re going out entirely natural, just not your usual extreme.

A busy day looms ahead of you. Tonight you’ll be attending a concert in the still fractious guise of the delinquent scourge of Juuban, the Red Eyed Beast, both to investigate a legitimate front of the enemy you and your sister have been fighting and to better acquaint yourself with the new style of an old...friend.

Stopping to think about that and other assorted complications, your mind drifts back to your conversation last night with your sister. It finally strikes you that you missed her going from being your klutzy baby sister to becoming a klutzy young woman. Regret swells within you at time lost which will be made up for in trust and sisterly bonds.

Trust and sisterly bonds...built on honesty.

Dang, missed it. Hopefully the next vote has an option for "don't tell Kanari you know".

Honestly, I was hoping for a dramatic reveal where we go from Eclipse garb to the princely one and Kanari would be the only one that knew that outfit.

Honesty you made the effort to keep last night after a few weeks of…

Omission? Lying? Smoke and- lying.

You’ve been lying to Koyomi about being Eclipse. Excuses you’ve used to yourself and others are varied, but it was finally pointed out to you by one of your friends that you shouldn’t do this to her or yourself anymore. The effort you’d been putting into keeping this secret from them may well have been hampering your team’s ability to assist them.

So last night, after dinner while you and your younger sister were taking care of the dishes together, you broached the subject. Carefully. The memory is still fresh in your head as you cross and walk on automatic to the looming district ahead.

~Hey, Koyomi-chan,~ you remember beginning as you slot a plate into the dishwasher, ~Can I talk to you about something?~

“Hmm, what is it, Mikage-nee?” the blonde girl questions for a moment before a distinctly mischievous and unworried grin splits through her lips, “Something to do with your complicated day?”

She teasingly giggles to herself as she rinses a plate and passes it to you.

You aren’t so amused, or at least full of humor.

~After a fashion,~ you say with a suddenly worn feeling creeping up your legs, ~Koyomi...I kept something from you, and I’m sorry,~

“Mikage-nee?” she pauses as you take the plate from her now still hand and lean over to place it into the machine.

~I told myself it was to protect you,~ you admit a little harshly on yourself with a sigh, ~but, maybe it was selfish...to say I wasn’t part of it,~
>>
>>45119661

She pauses and steps around the open face of the washer and up behind you as the creeping feeling finds its way to your chest, you lean against the counter for just a moment. Tentatively she reaches out and then grabs you around the waist in a hug as her head rests against your back.

She isn’t saying anything yet, you’re struggling to find the words. No more excuses, no more stalling. Here and now you put this to rest and hope she forgives you for it. Actually, a day later it strikes you as funny to have been worried about that given the dispositions you both share.

~I’m Eclipse,~

The reel of shock and surprise through her is noticeable even with your eyes to the counter beneath you as she jerks rigidly. Resignation and perhaps a touch of guilt takes you.

Her arms loosen, but she maintains the hug.

“Why?” uncertainty clouds her voice.

Why did you keep this from me? Why are you telling me now? Why would you do this to me? Why would you make me look like a fool? Why would you break my trust? Why would you why would you why would you why would you why would you why would why would why would why?

Why?

It echoes in your skull, one word that gives birth to so many projected questions and fears and worries. This feeling drags you down, but you don’t let it. Not while you still have your voice.

~I was ashamed,~ you begin slowly, ~of myself. I wanted to keep all my bullshit away from you girls, but I couldn’t stay away and not try to help. Even if I was afraid of being close,~

Grip wavering, you feel for a painfully long second as her arms go slack around your middle. She hates you. She can never trust you again. How could you?
>>
>>45119699

“How could you,” her voice matches your fear for one perfect instant before her arms return with fervor as she presses herself into you as though you could vanish at any second, “think that about yourself?”

~Koyomi,~ you say tiredly and worriedly, though in this moment you find yourself unwilling to cry despite the choking nature of your sister’s voice behind you.

Talking for a bit longer over the matter, you and your sister cover the details of how your deception was achieved in contested moments or cases. She understands, you know they were briefed on what PIT discovered of your fight with Magician...and she is willing to understand why you lied to her, but she isn’t happy with you for keeping this up for so long.

Her face undercut the pragmatism of her expression of continued upset. Though not angry or furious, she claimed hurt for which you had better take responsibility for as a big sister. To make up to lying to her.

Readily and relieved, you agreed and found your sister excited that you’d be fighting alongside her and the others more openly now...and then confused as to who your suspicious Knight’s could be.

Find you Sunday, you told her with a renewed and yet feigned confidence and bravado as her hands pulled and wrung at her blond pigtails to your-

Dodging the splashing water caused by a passing truck along the sidewalk, you are brought from your memories and thankfully dry. Amid your reminiscing of the event of last night you had already arrived at your destination? Well, it isn’t worth questioning any further as you head into the tall building and check in with the first floor.

In no time at all, you exit the recently repaired elevator toward the familiar studio space occupied by Yukiko Akiyama. The prodigy fashion designer and talent whom you and your ganguro fashion circle are throwing in with for her ganguro inspired fashion line.
>>
>>45119735

The dark haired girl, resplendent despite wearing her school uniform from the Zodiac Academy for girls, throws the doors wide at your approach to the expected loft space.

“Miki, darling, welcome to this preliminary fitting and measuring,” she says in complete confidence of your identity because of your appointment, though she pauses to look you over and take stock of your real hair and lack of tanning coloration, “You know that little cancelation threw off most of my day yesterday, naughty of you to party so hard on a school night,”

Her studio is in full production mode, dress mannequins all over draped in muslin fabric for the patterns she is preparing and crafting by hand as well as rolls and reams of materials on cutting tables. It looks like she manages to flit from one thing to the next while working on multiple projects simultaneously rather than focusing on one thing at a time, a working issue you can relate to.

There is even another model struggling to stand on a small raised platform in front of a circling bank of mirrors, a length and elegant blue dress with a long train pinned around her as she tries to maintain a rather specific pose in front of the mirror and her probably long black hair done up in a secure bun and her thin and tall frame exudes a certain elegance. Even from the door, and with her face obscured by the angle, she seems out of her element and uncomfortable.

There was one other reason we've kept a low profile, besides faking out the enemy.
On this Sunday meeting, we'll have to discuss the Vision.

Also, collude with everyone to fake Kanari out for just one moment. Please, after the elder Senshi left, Kanari has been my main hold back. That and the hope for a dramatic reveal.
>>
>>45120492
Also, reassured that shadow Koyomi didn't react worse, though I think that pragmatism is probably the shadow stuff, so then I'm less reassured. Fudge.
>>
>>45120804
This pleases me. More so than listening to Hamilton while writing.
>>
>>45120492
Hmmm, messing with Kanari…
That’s it!

If we make Koito a Knight, and Kanari protests, we’ll tell her:
>I’m going to train him myself. If that’s not good enough, go fight a bear untransformed, by yourself, without getting hurt, and then we’ll talk.
>>
>>45120949
Well, I believe we're offering him training either way. Though I think we can get even more fire out of her by saying if she has a problem with this training, then she has to beat our CQC instructor untransformed. Then cue Sasha.
>>
~Oh, like good morning Akiyama-san,~ you smile broadly and approach her in the doorway heedless of personal space or decorum and kiss at the air on either side of her face as her expression falls for only a second, ~Let’s not let today get totally thrown,~

“Yes, well,” she composes herself and returns your greeting in a certain familiar but still friendly insincerity, “It shouldn’t take too long and I can get back to my other work handedly. Now I’m quite certain of what outfits everyone will be fielding at the show,”

She explains this as she leads you into the studio to a small raised platform surrounded by dressing dummies uncovered with anything and a curiously large laid out arrangement of muslin mockups.pinned and stitched together and scoured with red and blue pencil markings and numbers in whatever arcane arrangement for her processes Akiyama-san uses.

“Though all told,” she gestures for you to step up on the small platform and set your bag down, “Sometimes seeing my patterns on their intended models has a way of reshaping my intentions. We’ll let’s get starting, Miki darling,”

~Totally,~ you say as she retakes your measurements and clicks her tongue before adjusting the pinning of the first set of muslin before holding it up against you while you eye the other model struggling to hold her pose, ~Sorry, I may have hit a growth spurt,~

“No matter,” she tuts and goes to work and taking in the whole of her to you unseen vision in preliminary patterning fabric.

~Say, like what’s with the ball gown,~ you observe and glance down at the girl at work.

“Another collection,” she explains while still focusing on her work upon you, “Not for the other collections of the show this will be for. I’m always working on something else and something new. I’m revising it with another pet project, I have a tendency to collect new models, you see, and I’ve taken it upon to polish this one with the preliminary designs of that ball gown series,”

~Oh, totally makes sense,~ you reason in the feigned vapidity of your sunny disposition, punctuated with a giggle.

“Actually,” she pauses through a pin held in her lips and her tape measure held before her, taught, “You might want to speak with her when we’re done. She has some questions about the incident you were here for,”

What? Your eyes shoot back over to the woman in the blue dress, shuddering at holding her pose and otherwise shaking uncomfortably across the studio from you.

~Oh that?~ you hum to yourself and bring a finger to your chin as if remembering is difficult, ~Oh yeah. I totally got a hot pic of the Senshi, Maybe she’s like a photography scout or from some kind of tabloid or junk~

“Er, not exactly. She-” Yukiko Akiyama begins and you cast your eyes over again and call out toward the mystery girl while maintaining your well felt out characterization.

~Like hey~ you call for the girl and see her stumble while standing still, hands going down to hold up the hem of the dress as she makes an uncertain and surprised sound and starts shaking in front of the mirrors, ~Are you like a reporter or some junk?~

Even from over here you can practically hear her knees clattering against one another until she goes rigid.

She shakes her head rapidly back and forth, the bun behind her and facing you swaying with her; loosening slightly leaving stray hairs to spring up.

~Well, like, why did you want to talk to me about meeting the Senshi?~ you lament and pop your hands on your hips as Yukiko scolds you while flitting to a second muslin mock up to lay out against you, ~I mean I totally missed the cool part in the bathroom,~

She stops her rigid crouching and stands upright tentatively and carefully.

Still facing away from you she makes some tentative sounds and tries to clear her throat while mumbling in the distance. It is certainly a familiar process to you, somehow. As she stumbles, Yukiko growls in frustration.

“SHE ASKED YOU A QUESTION!” she shrieks in an imported and harpy tone, “Annunciation! Square your shoulders! Face her! Confidence, how do you expect to make it on the runway if you can’t even answer a question?!”
>>
>>45123872

The girl across the room spins around, dress hiked forward so that she could maneuver as such, and the train fluttering behind her in the flurry of motion. She is wide eyed, with a familiar darkness beneath their twin widths, and certainly familiar. Surprisingly familiar.

Its unexpected, that she looks pretty. You can easily imagine how Akiyama roped the usually weak willed girl into going along with modeling if she thought her a diamond to polish to the task.

“b-b-but I d-don’t think I-” she stammers to the girl kneeling in front of you from across the room, familiar recognition of yourself perhaps imminent between your pink tresses and untanned skin.

Faster than you can blink in recognition of your face, you invoke your ability to appear as an anonymous cipher to feature recognition and memory. And while it won’t interfere with Akiyama’s work as she already has seen your features and knows you after a fashion, it will handedly prevent Saori Umeki from recognizing you from your rather distinct tresses of pink alone.

She mumbles again, unable to find her words as is her usual means especially with addressing someone who she thinks is a stranger. Taking a deep breath and maintaining the facade you play this coolly, with your power activated there is no way she can suss you out the truth.

Or remember fine details to compare against you later.

“You’ll have to excuse her,” Akiyama-san explains in frustration, “She’s a new talent and incredibly unpolished on even the most basic social niceties, but this girl has the potential for greatness,”

Somewhere in her speech, the young fashionista rose to her feet and struck a fist toward the recently repaired skylight above. There is fervor and intent behind it, which annoys you as you had designs on properly socializing Umeki-san. You saw her first.

Still, not quite worth it to rock the boat while you identity is at risk as the vivacious woman composes herself.

“Though before that I should play the proper host and introduce you, darlings,” she motions for Saori to close in on the two of you and the girl lifts the front of her dress enough to walk across the room with some reluctance, “Saori Umeki, Miki. Miki, Saori Umeki. With that out of the way perhaps you can do us the marvelous favor of posing your queries to Miki while I finish fitting her,”

Rolling her eyes she returns to her muslin, measurements, and pins up and down your body as the uncomfortable girl looks up at you in confusion.
>>
>>45125106

“I...well, you saw,” she composes herself and tugs at the edges of her shoulder where the strapless and shoulderless sleeves of her gown flare up to firm fabric points, “you saw it all, monster, beast, and Senshi...s-s-so could you maybe t-tell me what you saw?”

>Tell Umeki-san about what you saw, what beats?

~Sorry,~ you dip your posture a bit as you offer the apology, ~I was like in the bathroom until it was over. Though I totally got a great selfie with the senshi! Want to see it?~

“S-selfie?” she questions as you nod and kneel down, to Akiyama’s protest, for your phone in your purse and pull up that folder of pictures both selfie and of the Sailor Senshi’s confused faces.

~It was totes scary, and they were so cool,~ you feel a niggling desire to badmouth your darker alter ego, but honestly that inclination isn’t you anymore.

You notice as you lean over to show Saori your phone that she seems uncomfortable with your proximity. Well, you just need to put her at ease.

~Oh, like calm down dear, I won’t bite,~ you smile broadly at her and then wink, ~I’m Miki by the way and it is nice to meet you,~

“Oh, ah, w-well I’m Saori Umeki. It’s nice to meet you,” she says nervously by rote, but calmed by your more personable introduction when compared to the harried one offered by the busy Akiyama-san.

The muslin is changed again, how many outfits is she laying out against you anyway?

~So, when did you get noticed by Akiyama-san?~ you question the girl slyly.

“L-last night,” she explains slow at first and picks up speed and she begins her odd attempts at social posturing and embellishment, “I know some friends of hers and they helped me out with some crude guy who I was gonna give the time of day, but they thought he wasn’t good enough for me because I’m kinda awesome,”

Sparing a glance down at Akiyama, you see her rolling her eyes at your weirdest friend's explanation of events.

“And Akiyama-san noticed me and thought I had a model’s posture and figure,” she boasts, suddenly full of herself and her stutter forgotten, “Fufufufu,”

There is something in that laugh and her somehow undeserved sudden haughtiness that you have a strong desire to undercut. Maybe it is playing the part of Miki that really brings out her worst qualities in you, but it is time to give your friend a taste of the social undercurrents she has no idea she is wading into.

~Well,~ you say while letting your California style cadence diminish, and the veracity of your disguise field slacken, ~You do look great, Saori-chan, though you really need to learn to give credit where credit is due,~

She balks, her laugh forgotten as she stares at you. Really stares and pieces things together she didn’t notice before. Rather than break her mind, your delivery of certain knowings and truths spurs something else in the girl as she calmly regards you, and calculates.

This task falters along with her face and she momentarily glances at you and narrows her eyes. For the briefest moment it appears she wants to ask Akiyama-san something, but her cheeks puff in some expression between frustration and defeat as she nods her head.

“Well played, Miki,” she emphasises that name and crosses her arms, her appearance accentuated by the elegant dress she wears, “Well played,”

Akiyama, absorbed in her work, seems to ignore the whole of the exchange.

In no time at all, your fittings and measurements are concluded and you are free to go about the rest of your morning while Akiyama unpins Saori so she herself can head off to school.

True, but the Knight position is for fighting.
>>
Counting.
>>
>>45127292
Honestly, we are the main ones built for that, and we don't actually know if Koito can fight, we just suspect that he may know some.
Besides, having someone else that can sneak fight and look around would give us more backup on those missions.

And being a knight doesn't really affect that, Koito might be better suited for training and building up than Saori would be without a friend in the head.
>>
>>45127394
>Besides, having someone else that can sneak fight and look around would give us more backup on those missions.

Well, Kairi has Perception and Stealth skills.
>>
>>45127559
She seems more focused on them, but mainly I think having a Shitennou keep an eye on her would be invaluable, because she gets into nothing but trouble when unattended.

And Koito seems like he'd take to normal training very well, if he's anything like his sister.

..And our interactions with Umeki have been increasingly endearing and I'm afraid she would be much less useful without a boost. Such that she'll probably get herself into increasing trouble and we'll have to bail her out so often people will mistake her for Lois Lane and/or Jimmy Olsen.
>>
>>45127807
Not to say I have anything against Koito, I definitely want to recruit him, just not sure he needs the knight boost. Then again, maybe he does. We don't really know him.

Unrelated thought, I wonder if Boris could accept one..

>>
As you leave for the hallway outside of the loft studio, you pause by the elevator and wait a moment. You want to speak to her a bit more, Saori, and it puts you in a certain state of thought and consideration. After you’re done here you should probably talk to someone in contention against Saori who is a bit more in the know of things than she is.

Yes, after you chat with the normally invisible girl you’ll seek out Koito Kino and speak with him candidly about Zoisite. Though you imagine it will be difficult, considering the middle school’s front gate is probably already closed and homeroom starts in fifteen minutes or so while you aren’t even in Juuban.

It doesn’t take long for Saori Umeki to come out after you, though she is surprised to see you waiting for her. No longer clad in the elegant blue dress, she is instead dressed in a seemingly oversized black T-Shirt displaying the blue and yellow lettering initials of a well known eroge production house. Her hair remains in a loose bun, and rather loose and unflattering jeans extend from beneath the low hem of her shirt.

This grants of a panging sigh of frustration, you thought you had found good thing going for her with tight capris.

Then again, that was yesterday. She’s hardly had a chance to alter her wardrobe or change her habits, besides which it’s early yet and this is probably what she just threw together to get her for comfort’s sake.

Still, her sunken eyes regard you carefully.

“Hey,” she nods as she comes to a stop alongside you while you press the call button for the elevator.

~Hey yourself,~ you smile genuinely, ~Look at you, getting discovered by Akiyama for modeling,~

She blushes a bit under that praise, before offering a suspicious side glance in your direction.

“Well, as someone pointed out I may have had some help,” she notes, probing.
>>
>>45128588

~Well, bringing that up was more about scoring some fashion points with Akiyama-san,~ you note with some embarrassment as the elevator arrives, ~Though she was so involved in her work I’m not sure she noticed,~

She shrugs a bit, dryly chuckling. She seems oddly, relaxed? Is that the right word for it? Definitely the least wound up since you’ve met her.

“Yeah, once she gets to work she’s a hurricane,” she complains as the elevator door closes behind the two of you, as it shakes into motion she adjusts herself and slings her backpack from her shoulder to the floor.

Rummaging through it, she poses a question.

“So, I’ve got a question for you, Mikage-chan,” she says plainly and without her stutter, carefully testing out using your first name with a friendly honorific as you used earlier with her, it seems talking to you alone and without external duress is a part of her repertoire now, “A follow up to everything from yesterday,”

~Should I brace myself?~ you query, she isn’t quite so amused.

“Did you curse me?” she queries, “Cast a spell on me? Given me some kind of boon?”

~What?~

“You’re a witch, you and your secret coven. You’ve done something to me and now I’m making friends and can attract people’s attention,” she accuses, though without malice.

Though laced with conspiracy.

>Yes, I used my great and powerful magics to curse you into uncomfortable social encounters

~Nope,~ you shrug to her accusations of sorcery, ~it’s a virus,~

“I virus!?” she balks in a more customary and tightly wound panic as the loose bun valiantly holding to this point undes itself as she shoots up from her bag to meet you in the eye, “It was the stir fry, that’s how you got me!”

Her black hair falls down and then rests flat in all directions from the former bun, worriedly she brushes the curtain of her bangs out of her face and stares at you in accusatory concern.

~Nothing like that,~ you scoff and laugh as the elevator reaches the lobby, ~Friendship is infectious like that. Entirely natural, not magical,~

She laughs at your explanation, and you notice on her way upright she took something out of her bag. It's about the size of a magazine, but quite thick, and looks independently bound. Leaving into the lobby with you, she pauses and offers the floppy covered volume to you.

“Well, in the interest of doubling down on the infection,” she chides, proud of herself for making such a line, “I have something on me I thought you might like. It’s a bit shit, but it’s a lending thank you for all the stuff you let me borrow yesterday,”
>>
>>45129213

Huh, looks like an independently published original doujin. You’ll give it a more thorough look later, though you catch the Kanji for Maiden emblazoned in a sparkly logo font across the top.

~Thank you, Saori-chan,~ you beam and slide it into your own bag for safekeeping.

“Y-yeah,” she murmurs, “You too,”

Exiting the building, the two of you part ways. She has some other things to take care of with her unexpected day off, while you need to head back toward Juuban.

Back toward the Junior High.

Even with roof hopping, you arrive after the first period bell. There is still much to be done today, but you have to deal with this. You need a chance to sit down and seriously talk to Koito Kino about things. As close as you find yourself becoming friends with Saori Umeki, you need to get a bead on her competition for the position of Zoisite Knight...given both of them possess this affinity.

With a sigh, you regard Juuban Central Junior High School carefully.

Before you is Juuban Central Junior High, to your back is your presently closed Highschool. You’ve come here today with the intent of speaking with one Koito Kino.

You don’t know the boy very well, but would very much like too. He possesses an affinity that would rank him among your to be named Knights and successors to your father’s Shintennou. While you have grown a close friendship with another candidate for the appointment to which he is in alignment with, a formerly invisible girl named Saori Umeki, you are keen on seeing what potential Koito has.

Your reason for that is twofold. His mother and sister both carry the mantle and name of Sailor Jupiter, and he is certainly aware of the Senshi’s activities and identities already. Beyond that, he is in the throes and awkwardness of young love with your younger sister whom carries the mantle of Sailor New Moon.

He has a desire to protect, a will to help.

All that considered, you reason you need to get to know him and talk about this with him. More than that, you have decided that there is no time to waste on the matter and you must talk with him now.

The closed main gate of the school is of course nothing that can actually stop you from getting into the school.

Backing away from the building before you, you walk through the gate of the high school instead and turn to walk along the wall until you reach the shared athletic field the two campuses utilize. There are some construction and inspection work going on by the school gymnasium, you can see into it from here with the sliding wall open.

Slipping into your disguise field, you walk calmly around the wall and into the athletic field. Pausing you look at the trio of statues between the schools on the field, you square your shoulders.

Normally you don’t like looking at them, a reminder of failure...the blank face of the third staring back at you. You staring back at you, judging you.

Squaring your shoulders, you carry on. Sure, for once, in the face that you aren’t judging yourself.

Depressing the top of the disguise pen, you clad yourself in more conservative clothes. Mostly less showy and revealing as well as hallway appropriate slippers instead of your heeled sandals.

As you walk, you spy a pair of kids hunched behind an athletic supply storage shed on the field. Both with cards splayed out in their hands and numerous piles and tins between them, a boy and a girl with longish hair. Skipping class while still on campus, not the smartest move.

The two of them are extremely absorbed in their game, both of them with seemingly wild long hair and otherwise similar features. You assume them siblings as you close in on them, unnoticed due to their shared distraction.

Carefully looming over them against the sun as not to cast a shadow, you take momentary stock of their glitzy collection of monsters and magic themed story playing cards. They talk back and forth excitedly as though the whole of this is new to them.

“So, fire is weak against water monsters, but strong against amphibian monsters, ice monsters, and grass monsters,” the boy reasons while laying a few monsters out before his sister, “but that only matters for special abilities and not head to head attacks?”

“It’s the simplest subsystem of the rules,” the girl hums to herself, “Though the spell cards are completely unbalanced against it and the monsters. That and the relative value and use of different cards and combinations compared to rarity of the random draw in booster packs is strangely stilted,”

The boy nods.

“I think one of the other kids called it Ivory Tower design,” he reasons as you’ve heard enough and chime in.

~Boo,~ you say simply as the duo jump and send various cards flying everywhere.

They both flatten against the shed and stare at you in exquisite shock and wide eyes.

~You shouldn’t skip class like this,~ you scold them with a serious tone your hands on your hips, ~Especially if you’re going to stay on campus. You need to find a better hiding place or actually leave campus to play hooky?~

“Hooky?” queries the...boy? Yeah, he’s wearing the right uniform.

Actually, they both look a bit familiar and androgynous. Turning your attention to the girl, you are caught off guard as her eyes glow and lock into your own.
>>
>>45135934

A mental command routes through your mind telling you to forget you saw the two of them and go about your business...except this power breaks against your naturally significant mental defenses, and the girl knows it immediately.

“Uah?” she gasps in shock and worry as her eyes get watery, “I was resisted again?”

Oh. You get it now. It is a familiar power.

~Oh, you’re Estra’s siblings,~ you realize and finally make the connection, saying their brother’s real name brings them a moment of confusion and then apprehension.

>Tell them to get to class
>I’m telling your brother
>Say nothing and leave them
>Write in

That matter dealt with, you find your way into the Junior High and its abysmal security. Coursing through the familiar hallways, you walk undisturbed as first period is in full swing and classes are in session. You know well where your sister’s class is, where you’ll find Koito.

Hmm...Koyomi, Kanari, and Koito are in that class. You muse about the possibility of your sister having told Kanari about what you told her last night, though given how difficult it was for you to tell her she might hold it back a bit until you tell her.

You come to a stop in front of the right classroom and plan your next move

~Tell your brother thanks again for his bravery at the High School,~ you chirp to the slightly less terrified alien school children with a smile, before your eye cracks into a decidedly villainous bent, ~and tell him I look forward to him telling me about why the two of you are out here,~

The two gasp again at your scolding threat as you leave them to gather their things. It amuses you, their little hooliganism. However their attempt to get into your head annoyed you, not enough to lash out, but still annoying.

Finally outside the classroom, you consider how to best get Koito out that you may speak of mostly clandestine things. Fluttering through a mental checklist of your options, you decide upon contacting the boy directly through your powers of telepathy. Peering in through the edge of the door’s window you spy the boy in his seat.

-Koito Kino,- you begin after a deep focusing breath while leaning against the outer wall to the classroom, -Don’t say a word, I am speaking directly to your mind. We need to talk,-

-Who, who are you?- he thinks carefully after the initial shock of contact has passed, he can’t place you probably because of your ability to appear as no one of consequence.

-Its Mikage,- you explain succinctly over the mental connection as you relax your disguise to him, -Mikage Chiba, and I need you to leave class and meet me up on the roof,-

You feel an impression of his shock, unable to see him and faced with the empty hall around you, and imagine him glancing over toward his sister or your own. You clarify matters with a certain punctuation before he can pose the question you feel building.

-Alone,- you think, -Don’t tell the girls you are coming to see me,-

-Uh, yeah,- he says with dubious uncertainty, -Is this about what we spoke about before?-

-Find out,- you say as you push off of the wall and head for the stairwell, -On the roof,-

The connection goes silent and you head upstairs. It’s been awhile since you’ve been on the roof of the Junior High, it certainly carries a noticeable weight of nostalgia.

Over here, you would eat with your friends during lunch. There was a moment against this chain link fence where you and Yoshi had a moment...which looking back on was a missed opportunity for a first…

“Chiba-san,” you are broken from your reminiscing as the young man with brown hair steps through the access door and onto the roof top.

~Thank you for coming up to see me, Kino-san,~ you release the fence links and step toward the center of the roof, he closes in to meet you.

“Is this about my date yesterday with Koyomi,” he asks nervously calling back to your buzzed ramblings at the Crowne Arcade, “because I took what you had to tell me to heart,”

No, what you have to ask him is far more serious…
>>
>>45138739

~Koito, do you still want to help your sister and mine stand up to the threats arrayed against us?~ you ask him seriously as you take a wide stance and present a confident front.

His posture shifts, and his green eyes meet your own. There is a seriousness within them, and certainty.

“Yes,” he answers, sure of himself.

Well, that settles that he’s willing.

You walk over to one of the benches that are part of the rooftop layout. Patting the empty space next to you, you wait for Koito to come sit down next to you. He reminds you, at least in appearance, of his sister and mother.

~Sit with me a while then,~ you offer him as he follows you to the bench, ~So, what do you know about what’s going on so far?~

He shifts, and you wait a moment as he recounts about what he knows about the enemy and what’s happened. People being changed, negative emotions being used, the attack on Sailor Pluto that lead to your mother and the other original Senshi leaving earth, and that the enemy have some ties to the ancient past of earth and the kingdoms that used to exist in space.

Apprehension rules him amid this, worry for the safety of his mother and his sister. Especially worry about Koyomi, especially considering what he’s heard about the fights.

“I covered for them, Koyomi and Kanair, when they went to the high school,” he says with a sigh, “I try not to act like things worry me, but the two of them rushing off like that...and I couldn’t really do anything to help,”

~Yeah,~ you nod in understanding.

“I worry about Kanari,” he admits, “even if I know she’s strong because I also know she’s a hothead,”

He hangs his head a bit.

“I worry about Koyomi because,” he takes a deep breath, “because she’s Koyomi. I can’t imagine her fighting...hurting anyone,”
>>
>>45142399

~Well, she isn’t hurting people,~ you reason, ~She’s healing them, putting them right after the bad guys turn them into monsters,~

“She still has to fight them, right?”

~No,~ you reason slowly, ~She choses to, for others,~

“That,” he nods with a sigh, “does seem like her,”

~It takes a big heart to host a starseed,~ you nod.

Your hand drifts over your own heart as you look out across the field beyond the roof. Koito looks out there too, like you probably watching the statues. Your statue.

“You chose it too, right?”

~I did,~ you admit thinking back to your anger, your drive to prove yourself better than Usa and to get the praise of the then distant Tomoe-sensei, ~though I’m not sure I did it for the right reasons,~

A quiet spreads between the two of you. Classes persist in the school beneath you.

“Who are they,” he asks you, “Why are they doing all of this?”

You take a breath and explain to him a brief history of the past lives of your parents, and how this enemy has risen out of the ashes of the forgotten kingdom of Elysion toward yet understood ends for unknown reasons and using a weapon born from the remains of cosmic horror. Chaos.

He is quiet through your explanation.

“How can I even help, then?” he wonders, perhaps with an edge of anger.

Helplessness, a feeling you are quite familiar with. It tugs at you and you feel for the boy beside you. His own frustrations for knowing what he knows and being unable to do anything.

When you use Elemental Fist pick one of the following energy types: acid, cold, electricity, or fire. On a successful hit, the attack deals damage normally plus 1d6 points of damage of the chosen type. This damage increases by 1d6 for every 5 monk levels you have attained (2d6 at level 5, 3d6 at level 10 etc.) You must declare that you are using this feat before you make your attack roll (thus a failed attack roll ruins the attempt). You may use Elemental Fist attack once per day per monk level that you have attained and no more than once per round.

That's spliced together from the Monk of the Four Winds version, which honestly, should be the baseline version anyway, because the feat is otherwise fucking terrible.

~Would you like to be able to fight beside them?~ you ask as he clicks his tongue.

“Yes,” he huffs as he drops his head forward and musses his own hair in frustration before he whips it back up to look at you, “Fighting is in my blood, and even if Kanari is stronger than me I want to be able to help them,”

Nodding slowly, you kip up from the bench and cross a little away from the now confused boy and then turn to face him. His desire to fight reaches you, you think back to this as a matter of duty...and you decide between the boy before you and the shy girl you’ve recently befriended. You’ll make this offer to someone with the desire to fight...

~Then there is someone I want you to meet, Koito,~ after he understands exactly what he’s getting into at least.

Extending your hand, you will the stone to the surface. Requesting he reveal himself, there is an illusory flicker of darkness as his phantom spirals into being and then reveals Zoisite’s true face.

“What?” Kotio steps back in shock and concern.

~His name is Zoisite,~ you explain calmly as the phantom leans against the chain link fence behind, ~I’ll let him explain the rest,~

“Thank you, Princess,” the long haired man flourishes in a bow before turning his attention to Koito Kinno, “Don’t be afraid, child, I’m quite dead and to you harmless,”

“Dead?” he questions, with a tinge of surprise and fear.

“Yes, dead,” he laments with a sigh, “Longer than you’ve been alive, and on two occasions. Honestly I don’t recommend it,”

Koito turns and looks the figure before him up and down, the phantom smiles.

“I can awaken you to power, and instruct you in it’s use,” he says as he approaches the brown haired boy, “It come at a cost though, loyalty to the service and protection of the royal line of a forgotten kingdom. Knighthood and fealty,”

“Silver Millenium?” Koito questions, “Is that the royal line I’d protect?”

“Not quite, though that house is joined with the line I was sworn to in my first life,” Zoisite laughs and teases, “You’d protect both the heirs of Silver Millennium and the Heirs of Elysion, which just so happens to include the woman behind you and the young woman you would seem to be the beau of,”

“How does this work?” Koito queries and flushes, while otherwise maintaining his composure in the face of the teasing barb offered by the former dark general.

~The stone to which Zoisite’s soul is bound becomes a tool in your possession, imbuing you as an item of power to guide you,~ you explain firmly as he spins to face you, ~You have an affinity for his power, and with it you would work with me to support the Senshi and fight beside them...if you choose to,~

“If I choose to?” he questions softly.

~Of course,~ you laugh, ~To become one of my Knights or not, that’s your choice,~

You quiet and look at him more solemnly.

~It’s always your choice,~ you say seriously.

He looks away, his hair casting a shadow over his eyes, lost in thought for a moment.

“Before I answer,” he finally speaks, “There’s something I want to do,”

~What’s that?~
>>
>>45144942

“I want to talk to her,” he meets your eyes, resolved emeralds in the late morning light to meet your own rubies, “I think I need to talk to her first,”

“What’s this?” Zoisite’s voice again teases as he floats alongside the boy with a mischievous grin, “Not wanting to surprise her with a heroic moment of rescue?”

The boy’s posture goes rigid as he crosses his arms and turns his nose up at Zoisite’s suggestion and insinuation. Though you aren’t so certain between Kanari and Koyomi who he means to talk to.

“What? I- that’s. Just, not everyone has such a flare for the melodramatic,” he grouses, unamused.

“But, there are always elements of theater in this,” Zoisite flits around the rooftop, invisible to anyone but the two of you.

~You can save the arguing for later,~ you smile at how well they’re already getting along.

He nods as you leave him behind, you still have a long day before show time tonight...speaking of which.

Its really quite easy to escape the school grounds, between your natural and supernatural talents you are easily able to avoid the notice of teachers in the hall when the bell rings between periods. Returning to the streets of Juuban, you make your way to a familiar address you haven’t had occasion to visit since you still attended the Junior High you now leave behind. Releasing your disguise pen, you return to your vivaciously colored cropped jacket and short shorts.

You need to pick up your ticket and backstage pass for the show, so you come to a stop in front of the Sakurada household.

Taking out the disguise pen again, you use it to turn from short shorts and heeled sandals to some reasonable capris and sensible sneakers. Lowering the noticeability of your makeup, and lengthening your light cropped jacket. Certain you look more like, yourself, in the interest of not rocking any boats of expectations.

Well, no more than you already had with being found out as the Beast.

You sigh at that, this has been a terrible week for your double identities. At least a terrible week for maintaining them.

No matter, at least with Yoshi it was a fair trade of secrets…

~Okay, calm down,~ you take a deep breath and march up to the door, ~Just, act natural,~

Having assured yourself, you come to a stop at the door and knock. It isn’t a frantic knock, but three firm rapts. Waiting quietly a minute, you are about to knock again when you hear motion beyond the door. It falls away to you revealing the living room and a tired woman still in her nightgown and tied off bathrobe.

You imagine she slept in because the school is closed again.

Haruna Sakurada, your Principal and Yoshi’s mother stands before you yawning her way through asking who has come to disturb her.

“Good morning, Who is-” at least until she sees it’s you and wakes up in certain surprise, “Chiba-san? Uh, morning,”

~Morning, Principal Sakurada,~ you say with a weak wave, ~Is Yoshi in?~

She narrows her eyes for just a second, then quirks an eyebrow and nods slowly.

“I’ll go check if he’s up, please, come in?” she says with a certain barely conspiratorial and amused smugness.

Just what does she think is going on between you and her son?

~It’s alright,~ you say apologetically, ~I’ll just wait out here. No need for me to intrude,~

It isn’t like you’re here to stay long, just picking up the ticket and the pass and saying you’ll see him later.

She regards you curiously, before nodding and disappearing back into the house. The door before you is left noticeably open, as you wait quietly outside for perhaps a little more than a minute when your outdoor solitude is ended by the arrival of the boy you came to see.

Yoshi is dressed casually, something you’ve seen infrequently. Jeans and a black t-shirt as he adjusts his glasses while opening the door again for you.

“Good morning,” he says with a smile, “Mikage,”

~Morning Yoshi,~ you say casually before leaning in conspiratorially and bringing up your hand to cover the side of your mouth in case his mother is trying to eavesdrop from the stairs, ~I swung by to pick up my ticket and pass,~

He nods, glancing up toward the stairs to make sure the two of you are alone as he slides a small envelope out of his pocket.

“I figured as much,” he says with certainty holds out the envelope likely containing your ticket and backstage pass, and then a look of uncertainty spreads across his features, “Say, are you free to talk about…”

~Yoshi?~ you question while taking the offered item.

“I understand if it’s a bad time,” he hesitates, “Or if talking about it isn’t good for you to do, but...can we talk about what you tried to tell me about Kal before you had a panic attack?”

From thread 110

>“I don’t understand,” he says carefully, “Mikage, even if you can’t tell me the finer details I need you to be straight with me on this. Whatever you are afraid to say, it’s okay, I trust you,”

>~He’s dead,~ you resolve yourself and explain things plainly and start to roll into a pleading explanation, ~He died thousands of years ago and is now an animated thing. A thing that’s part of the group that is turning people into monsters, turned Umeki-san and Nomura-san and others into monsters, is harvesting negative emotion, plunged the city into chaos at Tokyo Tower, and was trying to kill Keiko for really convoluted reasons. At your concert, I know you felt something strange about your audience. He is using you and your music, and I don’t want him to hurt you,~

>You need to tell him, but as much as you can. He says he trust you so maybe he’ll accept it. So you let as much spill as you can, the things you want to warn him about. The danger he may be in. It stirs at your anxiety, crashing through the barriers you’ve managed to erect into its path by your healing and recovery in this matter. Even now you feel your vision tunneling and the world growing faint and distant.

>He is quiet. You try to hold on and he is quiet. There is a serious look on his face as he parses through what you’ve shared.

>“Did they,” he asks carefully, “Did they do something to you?”

>His question isn’t about his own safety. It’s about the things you can do that he’s seen. He isn’t accusing you of being some kind of thing, but if you’d been hurt by them or changed against your will. In more manners than you’d care to count, they have. That drives it home. And the world starts falling away.

Honestly, I'm not sure I want to commit to Yoshi as Kunzite just yet, because I have this feeling that Sasha may be humbled coming out with us, and change his mind. Also it seems like a pretty dick move to both of them to, immediately after offering the position and getting rejected, go and offer it to the rival.

It's not fair to Sasha because it's just like "Whelp you said no, I mean it's not like I had other options or anything like that."
And to Yoshi it's like "Whelp, my first choice said no so I'm settling for you."
>>

>>
>>45149953
I was on the no one boat until we started to open up, and Sasha seemed good, but the reveals around Yoshi and his general attitude seem a good match for her. Kairi is more a long term project. Until we get her an option other than ourself for relieving her depression, I think that path is best avoided, lest we hit that bad end we glimpsed with her.
>>
>>45150065
And I see a lot of potential in Kanari's interactions with Sasha, so I feel we still get to have the littlest Russian in a fighty relationship.
Though it seems another athlete also has eyes on him. Fun fun.

Ueda makes me realize that despite the cast bloat, most of the people even in small rolls feel distinct. Mostly because she's got some overlap with Niji. As characters they feel a bit similar. given the size of the cast, I'm surprised I haven't noticed more of that.

>>
>>45150351
Was that an actual flash forward vision thing or was it some kind of Mikage's fears thing?
>>
>>45150591
>>45150487
Vision, in the few clear glimpses of a future that gave us all new things to worry about. Same branch of the future that gave us a vision of a beautiful woman Mikage didn't recognize in a hospital being upset with her. Who we surmise was an adult Venus and hinted that the magic we possessed in that time had been able to keep he going but not cure her, which pushed a shift toward craft wonderous since magic items can do things spells cannot or at the very least a reusabe item would get around the woman's concerns about our personal attention to her. All through this encounter, our partner, the loyal husk of Kairi, was impassively on hand.

That and a dream we had later at Aiha's got us to broach the subject of her needing help beyond us and reluctance to feed on her regularly. No movement on that front yet from her that I recall though.
>>
>>45152640
Actually I think that vision came during that dream, the power of two ESPers sleeping in contact, with visi9ns kicking in around the point that Aiha and Mikage stopped hearing each other.
>>
>>45153819
Well, her putting together that support group for transformation victims will probably help.

>>
Comedic Aside

It confuses you...you learned that about her yesterday and yet when all the pieces were in place and she was introduced to you by name you didn’t recognize her. It dispels any doubt in your mind that she is indeed some kind of good witch.

Great Ganguro Witch Chiba…

Akiyama-san was bragging about her upcoming ganguro inspired collection and the models and collaborators she had assembled to the task. She introduced her to you as Miki, and her hair was exactly the same. The only explanation to your inability to recognize her was magic.

“No no no, this isn’t right,” you muse to yourself and sit down on a park bench with your early convenience store lunch, “All the timing is weird, and she was super unpopular before all of this started happening,”

The mystery of the monster makers, the Senshi, The Beast, and the Witches deepens. Nothing really adds up or makes sense. It isn’t like an adventure game, dialogue tree mystery, or eroge at all. You’ve sunk maybe two days into going outside and talking to people about this and all you have are more questions…

And more people who seem to want to talk to you and generally be interested in you.

Glaring up at the sky, you think how much you dislike the sun...but maybe it and the things that have happened because you’ve been spending so much time out in in aren’t all bad.

Popping the clear plastic top from your lunch platter, you break your chopsticks and say thank your for the meal, until a Frisbee collides with your lap and sends the rice, omelette, and pickled vegetables flying.
>>
>>45156308

“Gwah!” you shriek and stand bolt upright in surprise and shock, spilling what food survived and the offending plastic discus onto the ground.

“Wan!” a black dog has come to a stop amid your spread and scrambled food, barking happily with a wagging tail as it looks down at the toy and then up to you.

Its cute, but then its ears perk and it looks down again but not at the frisbee. With a happy yelp it starts nibbling and licking around at the rice and eggs spread about the ground.

“Hey! No!” you say annoyed, your usual timid nature when facing a stranger forgotten.

Dogs aren’t people, they don’t judge. No reason to be shy around them. It pauses and looks up at you, sitting on its haunches. Surprisingly well behaved.

Lifting up the frisbee, its eyes follow you and it wags its tail again. Patiently.

“Sorry!” another voice calls, running up from the side, prompting you to go rigid.

New people...person. Oh no. It sounds like a guy too. Okay, no big deal, play it cool.

“Hey, I’m really sorry about that. I threw a bit wide,” he says in embarrassment as you turn to face him.

You’ve seen this guy around. A manager or something at the Crowne Arcade.

Several false starts at accepting his apology or telling him damn right he’s sorry sputter and die between your throat in your lips as you stumble over words. That guy in Akihabra last night may have been slick when he hit on you, but this guy is just pretty. TVXQ boy band pretty.

“Looks like Kuro and I ruined your lunch,” the dark haired boy laughs nervously and apologetically, “let me make it up to you. I’m Yeon,”
>>
>>45156333
Yeah, the sun is definitely not bad.

Oh god he’s waiting for an answer or something.

In this kind of situation, you’d pray for and expect the menu options to appear and offer you some sense of direction or stability. Flying near completely blind.

“Y-yeah, it’s nice to eat- MEET, meet you-u,” you stumble through responding to him while holding the frisbee up and close to your chest, “Saori Umeki, and you d-d-damn well better t-t-take responsibility,”

Eyes shooting wide at your own misuse of a stock line makes you shake your head and brandish one hand and cover yourself.

“For m-my lunch. Take responsibility for my lunch,” you recover and drop you hand holding the toy that started this chicanery, only for the dog to walk up to you and bump your leg with its nose while whining and looking up sadly at the plastic disc, yesterday the kitten and now this, “C-cuuuuuuuuuuuute,”

End aside

Interlude: ???

The jeep comes to a stop in a gated parking deck beneath a nondescript office park. Rather than sedans or the expected cars of salarymen and office women paid well enough to afford to drive in Tokyo, the tableau reminds you more of the motor pool of a police office or a military storage field. There are no doubts in your mind your mother has brought you to a Paranormal Incident Task Force base.

And you don’t really know why.

She’s been tense. Tense and worried the entire drive over, glancing at your reflection in the windshield guiltily against the dark. Nephrite is quiet in your mind, perhaps because this is a family moment.

You only really noticed that thanks to the acuity and clarity afforded by Mikage’s feeding.

“Come on, Kairi,” she says, as she parks and unbuckles.

Your mother leads you to an elevator in the middle of the lot, and rather than rising into the offices above, the shifting in your core and of your weight suggest it drops. After a few moments, it opens to a check in area where she flashes her credentials and signs you in as a guest. Quite clearly your name is printed on the expected sign in list, you specifically were expected. She leads you through neat corridors. Soldiers, scientists, and technicians walk assorted halls and a few more secure checkpoints.

Though honestly, they feel more like strategic choke points. Complete with sealable bulkheads.

“Mom, why did you bring me here?” you ask uncertainty and with an anxious nervousness.

The numb feeling from Mikage supping on your negative emotions is already waning. If she hadn’t done so just before this, you might be having some problems.
>>
>>45168143

“Just...if I show you first it’ll be easier to explain,” you mother says curtly as you pass through a secure series of doors, “And maybe easier to apologize for,”

Beyond the last door is a simple room of bright colors, small furnishings, and children’s toys. On the small table are a splayed out arrangement of drawings. Very exact and detailed of scenery. Among them are also open folds of paper, letters. Lifting one, you are surprised to see a letter you wrote months ago.

A letter to, no one. A child your mother lost from the stress after your father…

You turn with a start as a door slides open on the far side of the room. There stands the small figure of a child in slightly oversized pajamas rubbing sleep from his eyes, behind him the darkness of a small bedroom. His features are immediately familiar, despite the ashen tone to his skin.

His eyes widen as he takes in your presence, and he steps back into the room and hides partially behind the edge of the door. He watches you, and glances worriedly at your mother.

His mother.

“It’s alright,” she kneels down beside you and speaks softly to the boy, “the two of you have deserved to meet for a long time, and I’m sorry it took so long,”

Hanako Minami - Flowers (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
Hisako Ito - @repostyankee (first time I think I've mentioned her first name)
Akane Kita - Ringo (is still leery of ya)
Nijiko Junta - Niji (remember how your encounter at the track went?)
Saori Umeki (questions)
Four Sisters who are groupies for Malefic Black (back stage pass & after party invite)
3 Malefic Black members
4 Unrepentent Damned members
Kalunite

yup...real blatant powder keg of a night I've got setup.

You know that point in every season where there is an upset in the bad guy's power structure/operating hand/revelation about the power behind their actions...that should happen before the Aiba tournament.
>>
>>45170259
Maybe Sasha will actually take us up on our offer after that.
>>
>>45170226
It feels like the Senshi haven't gotten a lot of screen time recently.

Thread 87. found it there.

...wow, the syrup and peach bit reads a lot more suggestive than I remember it being.
>>
>>45171752
Found it more disturbing overall, particularly after my attempt at a photo op with some.
>>
>>45169705
He hesitant because we pushed him away before.
He earnestly kept trying to help until Princess No turned things up beyond no to actively undermining his interactions with her (see bus and hospital). To the point of taking his hurt and heartbreak to Metal.
>>
>>45172662
There are worse places to take it.x
>>
>>45172186
Peaches in syrup?
>>
>>45172186
Suggestive in a disturbing way.
>>
>>45172662
I wonder how this will affect their dynamic as Red Eyes and The Damned, it was a pretty tense scene before when neither knew.
>>
>>45169210
>>45169527
>>45169027
so... is the implication that Setsuna has a kid...or is next season's young Sailor Pluto just going to be a younger version of herself because she has to deal with cyclical time or some such?
>>
>>45174457
Yes, exactly. Man, what time at night did I post that maddening update...what time did I write it?
>>
>>45174001
Those were some nice cellphone pictures of the subject matter at least.
>>
>>45179011
Ummmm....8pm
>>
>>45181338
Then there aren'f any excuses.
>>
>>45172662
I think it was a train, not a bus...and we played right into Artemis's plans I think...unless the manner of that initial interaction was supposed to influence what kind of history he gave his character and Mikage?
>>
>>45172186
Sticky sticky Kairi.
>>
>>45133773
How'd that go?
>>
>>45174001
Overflowing peach syrup. Was surprisingly difficult to clean up after, it just sticks to all the things and doesn't soak up at all.

>>45174457
It is peaches and peach syrup. Suggestive is very easy for those.

>>45181665
Thought it all worked.

>>45182505
While we chose options that showed it off, I don't think Mikage's response with them would have been as harsh had things not gone that way between them.

Home again!
>>
>>45186488
Welcome home. You think that Mikage apologizing to him and becoming something nebulous in his life again is going to undercut his ability to perform at the show?
>>
>>45188586
Nah, I think we've introduced enough new traumas and worries since then to keep him going as an artist.
>>
>>45189136
>Oh god, shadows are moving on the wall...wait, that's just something she can do. I'm sure its nothing.
>Why am I hearing a voice talking to someone else?
>Did, did Daigo attack the student council president?
>And there's a spider jumping at my face. Who the hell just caught it?
>Great, everyone in school is possessed. My mom is possessed. This is really upsetting.
>If it weren't for the mortal terror, I think this whole situation could make for a good song.
>She believes in me? She believes in me.
>That...that is a giant spider girl.

And the whole "My Middle School Crush is a Part-Time Demon-Girl Deliquent-Thrasher Who Passes Out Sometimes", and "My Manager Might be More Evil Than Most".
>>

New top selling visual novel?
>>
>>45191999
Just unflappables his way through reactions.
>>
>>45189348
>>45192683
His ability to keep it together really endears him to me.
>>
>>45190182
>>45191999
See with a title like the second one I expect an office comedy about how the floor manager is bad at hiding being a demon. A rigorously loyal company man with a dynamic management style, but a demon.
>>
>>45185988
Still ongoing. Turning cad model now until diagrams to machine. I'm cursing the doctoral student who decided to make it so complex.
>>
>>45193581
That sounds fucking amazing. Fund it.
>>
>>45193886
That means they are bad at engineering. If it's complex, chances are there's a way to make it less complex.
>>
>>45194128
The question is American style office or Japanese style office culture...
>>
>>45194405
American, because being a "company man" is such an oddity over here.
>>
>>45194405
Are they not both keep your head down and slave away until you die? Though I imagine the specifics of managers jockeying for position may vary, that could be said between different corporations in general.
>>
>>45194144
The problem isn't an engineering one. Its a design for a mechanism that produces a certain complex motion. It was someone's master thesis project. The professor now wants it to be manufactured, whereas before it was merely cad and alot of simulations. I'm just the undergrad who got assigned to making it.
>>
>>45194548
Oh fun. So when they designed it, actually manufacturing the product probably didn't enter into the equation.
>>
>>45194606
Yeah. Most of the work I've done is resizeing parts to use available hardware.
>>
>>45194653
So it's not even dimensioned properly. That sucks.
>>
>>45194653
Like, are the measurements not in the same standard as the measurement units used by the manufacturing tools?
>>
>>45195620
Sounded to me like it was dimensioned in such a way that it was either too large or too small for the equipment.
>>
>>45195651
Its not the equipment but other parts going into it. U-jojnts, bearings, ball joints, and of course a bunch of nuts and bolts.
>>
>>45194128
>>45194405
>>45194470
>>45194477
And true to American Corporate culture, no one cares he's a demon and an employee who is a hard line evangelical can't make a stink without HR being on their ass.
>>
>>45168184
Its good this happened, and honestly its a plot we as the players are kinda distant and separate from.

For real though. We will need to be on hand to comfort her and then for her to comfort us in the inevitable guilt induced breakdown.
>>
>>45170226
So does this mean we also likely have an after party invite...do we even go to the after party? Random thought, Daigo Endo knows Yoshi and Mikage are talking to each other again...when he hears or sees that Yoshi invited the Red Eyed Beast to the show with a backstage pass and presumably to the after party, there are going to be some questions. Doubly so if Nui Takeda, being someone who saw him play guitar at school, connects him to being the Damned

>>45198523
There is a periscope depth joke to be made...I just know it.
>>
>>45199164
I don't see many people making that connection just because of red eyes.
>>
>>45199249
I think the questions worried about here >>45199164
are more in the vein of Daigo taking issue with Yoshi seemingly inviting another girl to their show and backstage when he had witnessed Yoshi and the girl he's been hung up on for more than a year finally talking and on positive terms again.

And that, at least, is something I had considered.
>>
>>45199249
Plus we have backup.
>>
>>45198523
I wonder, if there was ever a U-Boat named Lily or The Lily or some variation of Lily.
>>
>>45199402
Well, we can tweak the Ogre's nose if we need to.
>>
>>45203330
Haha.Should be interesting. Also I get the feeling that we're going to tier up when we get our four guardians.
>>
>>45203330
Also interestingly enough the Kriegsmarine never actually named their vessels from what I can find, they were known by their designations.
>>
I need to keep a master list of cast names. I can't find where I wrote the real names for the other two members of Unrepentant Damned.
>>
>>45196724
Sorry to hear its going so roughly but good luck sorting the whole of it out.
>>
>>45204192
I wonder if we'll be stable enough to handle the next Divine Source by the tier after that, cause I don't think we'll be ready soon. Getting closer tho.
>>
>>45206379
Ahh, I manage, but thanks for the support.
>>
>>45207664
Welcome.
>>
>>45207398
You mean the abilities you'd get next tier or gaining another sphere of magical influence?

Also, we are now in free fall. See you guys next thread. No time for one this weekend, no time for one on Monday from the look of it. So hang tight and we'll be back before you know it.
>>
>>45207759
Not quite yet, not for another few posts. But yeah, hopefully soon Arty. I start jones-ing when EQM isn't up on the weekends.
>>
>>45207759
Nah, thinking of that additional rank of Divine Source we'd been thinking of but then realized might be terrifying.
>>
>>45208491
I don't recall any talk of an additional rank in Divine Source...would kinda be superfluous anyway.
>>
>>45208491
What spells become part of our spell like abilities available next rank anyway. They're kind of our big guns.
>>
Shit, did they change /tg/'s bump limit?
>>
>>45209109
They did. It's 350 now for whatever reason.
>>
>>45208675
I thought you were still around then? It would be super powerful and add a pile of spell options that didn't use MP. Only hold back I think was that it might mindbreak Mikage if she wasn't ready for it.
>>
>>45210847
>>45209109
Think they did that back when archiving went in?
>>
>>45210867
What Domain? Still would use Planet Power
>>
>>45211345
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric/domains/paizo---domains/healing-domain/resurrection

This was talked about, at least.
Don’t remember any of the others.
>>
>>45211345
That didn't use Planet Power, granted spell-like abilities.

>>45211473
That was the biggest one. When I wake up more I'll see if I can remember others. I'd actually forgotten some of that while thinking about crafting stuff.
>>
>>45211795
That was talked about just last thread I think.
>>
>>45211473
Being able to bring back the dead, that way lay all the feelings and possibly anger and tears especially.
>>
>>45212051
Six months to a year ago, I believe. Someone was scared that having resurrection would make go nuts, but Artemis eased us into the last batch so maybe Mikage won't know about that until later on when she is ready.
>>
>>45212343
No, I mean what we were doing next tier.
>>
>>45211795
More awake, seems other ideas beyond Resurrection was still in the air. The additional healing and the resurrection made it potent.
The new domain and addition sub where harder to peg down. In some ways it is a matter of deciding another representative aspect of the character. Darkness for the shadows of Earth and Moon, as well as our own shadowy tendencies, Healing for the goodness and nurturing within us, seeking to help others. And what gets to form the third point on our personal triforce?

Have a couple ideas, one of which is entirely new to this morning that occurred to me, touching on the Daphne side more:
Knowledge. Learning, from the practical seeking information and intel, to the more joy of study and knowing things. Plays well into finding out more about what is going on and the history behind things, as well as into learning more about crafting and magic.

>>45212051
>>45212963
Well, it was revisited. Though, having been reminded about Divine Source, that could be a solid choice (possible mindbreak not withstanding), and then pick up Armor & Weapons with the next Mythic feat selection.

>>45212343
This right here has reignited me on the idea. Art did a nice job easing her into the initial helping, and it feels like she still isn't fully aware of everything she can do on that Path.

6th tier is pretty much spoken for with StarWalker, and tiers will just get harder to reach, can we afford to put Divine Source off until 7th? Actual question.
Depending on what all happens, it feels early to go into it, but 7th tier feels like a while off. Though the next mythic feat isn't until seventh either, so there is that too.
>>
>>45209109
>>45210847
Huh, seems we are in auto-sage now though. Did it get changed to 310 or something, because it wasn't just after 300 from what I saw last night.
>>
Also, unrelated to anything else, it occurs to me we should ask about Usa next time he asks for a random aside topic. Curious what things are like over there.
