Jackie approached the 2 Skelters and the Sivvian amidst the plaza. Weary boots and bandaged weaponry clanked about as Runners shuffled to make it to the next floor, business as usual.

Sens: Uheheheeh there was so much excitement that we plumb forgot why we came here for. The skelter reached into his pockets and pulled out a curious compact, inside was a compass, shaped like a crow.

" An invitation, " He says, " Use it to navigate the crystal corridors and it will take you to our small place under the stairs~ We came here to pay Vidofnir a visit but... it seems we attended a funeral instead Uheheheheh. It's a shame, we had thought he had a pretty good setup going, guess monsters have a long way to go before they can enjoy all this. . . As for the people behind this... well can you blame us if we'd rather explain it when you arrive ? Well later ! "
>>
>>45197730

"W-wait! The doppleganger! You know something about the doppleganger, don't you? They left with a child up the stairs. What do you know of them?"
>>
>>45197794
They look to each other.
" It's complicated. "
Disdyne: Even I don't get it sometimes.
House M can't exactly get along on the same mission... especially when guys like Doppio are around. I understand what happened to him... but even somethings are going too far.. "
Sens: As for that kid... I got a bad feeling from him. Even Disdyne felt threatened..
>>
>>45197929

"'Ere I thought House M was made up of about 14 people? Or did that number balloon from that 'incident' in the desert"

Burkhard rubs his head "This is getting awfully complicated real fast."

"Oh yeah do I still owe you a fight or do you have business elsewhere" This question was posed to Disdyne.
>>
>>45197730
Thank you. We will see you soon I expect.

>>45197794
Do not worry Meave. I have a feeling the Child will be fine. If the Doppleganger tries anything I have a feeling he will not live long enough to regret it.

However if it makes you feel better I shall make it a priority to find the Child, free him, and help him Home.

Reposting my questions from the last thread.
-What's the Range stat on the Lifemare?
-Gravity Pulse does what?
-Poison Pulse does what?
-Just how illegal is this thing? Should I not be seen in town with it?

I wonder how I might go about getting the memory drawn without the Lifemare being confiscated like the Reaper Scythe. I can hear soft murmuring, maybe I should listen to it.
>>
>>45197730
can we get a redone character sheet? with all the new classes including PALADIN?
>>
>>45199125

We haven't unlocked Paladin yet though, but yes I think one with the Editor and Shinobi on it would be a good idea.
>>
>>45199144
The dragon stuff said we could now advance into paladin, so I assumed we had unlocked it?
>>
>>45199166

No I think that's just the Dragon Pact we unlocked access to rather then the class, since the only one who could have told us buggered off.
>>

Can one of the mages please ask our new runic library for a LOT more information on how the Eye and Glass runes function?
>>
>>45197730
Can I get clarification on this line?

>Certain actions found violating this will stay your hand unless reason sides with you.

Not sure what exactly it means.
>>
>>45199587
my guess is that as long as you can justify breaking the law within reason.

For example: Upholding one law means breaking another higher, more important (or more just?) law, then you're free to break it.

Lying to uphold a law, or breaking a law to speak the truth.

Basically it's a get out of free card for when you literally cannot act perfectly within your pact.

Rabbitspaw perched on top of the stairway to watch the hustle of the crowds below. They were all getting ready to abandon Luxendarc, skelters, runners and humans. The Wyrd Hunt.. He was nibbling on a cheese. Wondering about goats. About peace and quiet. In a little bit he'd be on his way too, to new floors and new honest jobs and that wasn't a bad-wrong-negative thought but it was an odd one. Maybe that quiet goat-herder had been right, and something to fight would be a good idea.
==

Rabbitspaw has some actions he would like to take.
>Thank Jackie for the Zenny to buy guns.

>Give "Floors Compilia" to Scholar Charon
>>"This 832,128, page Tome outlines the compiled histories of the previous floors visited by Florian Faerune during her Scholar Study. While gigantic, it serves as a universal fact checker for those wishing to compile data about any magical theory. Rabbitspaw also am having other book
>Give Runica Glass to mage-leader Jackie, then all mages can learn the Glass rune from Jackie?
>>Information on Glass in other thread.

Rabbits thinks that old historian-summoner-worker Latvian, who says words like "Mezzier" and "Sign" might find-use this old historical books with Mezziers and Signs very interesting. If she is trying to summon someone named Trigger Warning, perhaps that name is in this book?
>Give Encyc. Chronos to Latvian

Rabbitspaw has distinct feeling inside that Runica Bibliotica is mind-reading bad-nogood book we should give to the Scholomance as soon as possible.

Also Rabbitspaw wanted to become honest-helpful-good citizen. It is hard. He can try again.

Before leaving Luxendarc, Rabbitspaw will find Lady Aya and ask for tutoring-instruction.
>Advance to Shinobi, learn Green Purple River.

Rabbitspaw will also swear a [Pact]. If Veritas will alllow him to. Then maybe in future, Rabbitspaw can settle down and help Luxendarc like Goat Herder Man said was smart. Be honest citizen. Be just. Not steal.

>Rabbitspaw has distinct feeling inside that Runica Bibliotica is mind-reading bad-nogood book we should give to the Scholomance as soon as possible.

Books that read minds are not necessarily evil, they just have a very efficient interface. My old town had our law book do the same thing, so it could bring to the fore any laws that were relevant to a case.

So please Rabbit's paw, we really do need that book to help understand things here. If nothing else, you could give it to Runner? Let him decide what to do with it.

Am thinking it will be okay. Rabbitspaw has found role model in old songs and books he has just read. Thinking it will be okay.

>>45201386
Oh, okay Mr. Hetros-man. Is reasonable. Am sorry.

Runica Bilbliotica is here in Rabbitspaws bags then, and can be used by anyone who wants to research Runic stuff. Am thinking you can combine it wth Floors Compilia (and Charon scholar help!) to learn magic-theory-work-words, yes?
Rabbitspaw only request is please be careful with mind-reading books and put it back when done-finished. Am holding on to these books now for Veritas.
>Allow people to use the Runica Bibliotica to research and play around and hold on to it

Is important task. Don't want to lose books that Dragon said Rabbitspaw could take care of.
>>
>>45201596
Okay, Rabbitspaw.

This is important.

You realize Law =/= Justice right?

If the Law in a place says you have to cut off the hand of a child because they stole an apple from t a stall, as a Lux Pact, you will HAVE to do it, or die.

If it says someone has to be stoned to death for speaking badly of a fascist government, you will have to help stone the poor soul to death.

Darc dragons are the dragons of Justice, not of Law. Lux dragons are dragons of Law, not justice.
>>
>>45201596
Also that's fair.
>>
>>45200286
>Going to have to read this.
>The whole thing.
>All 832,128 pages.
>>
>>45201726
Yes-yes, is true. Is true if this was Vidofnir!

Yet also Law and Florian's Knowledge would mean-is good laws, yes? Ultimate-final search for Laws and Scholar dragon is good combination! Benevolence! Truth! Veritas, not Dictates!

No murder is law Rabbitspaw can get behind, Rabbitspaw doesn't like killing and Falsehood is just lies-deceit-fibbing which Rabbitspaw can give up! Promise. For real.

Can still wear mask, am not lying to people if face is hidden; is not pretending to be anyone else. Law is impartial. Can still stab in back and take weapons and run and throw and steal. No murder is not no fighting. If fighting, no rules on how to fight. And if not fighting, what is better than to Disarm those who would hurt others? Just won't harm-hurt-damage those protected by the Law. No breaking promises.

And Rabbitspaw promised he'd help in the library, and he did. Promises courier job, he did. Promised he'd stop Other-Dobbie-Rabbitspaw. He did. Rabbitspaw is rogue of his word.
No, is satisfied with this plan if nice Dragon-Person-Lady agrees.

Might need Stun-Rounds for shiny new guns.
>>
>>45203031
Rabbitspaw! You have to obey ALL laws! Not just the ones of your particular dragon!

If you were any other kind of dragon then yes, it would JUST be the rules your dragon sets, but Lux Dragons set Law and Order above all other things, Justice has -nothing- to do with it.
>>
>>45203031

If it's what you want to do, then do it, don't let others hold you back!
>>
>>45203223
>>45203272
I just don't want him sucked into a hole in reality because he pissed off Veritas by saving a child from their lawfully ordained, but unjust, death.

Veritas is no longer Florian, they are no longer human or mortal. Making assumptions about how they think now will get some, or all, of us killed.

I wonder if you could Engrave a Glass Rune on a shield, then use it to deflect spells or get defense against incoming spells.

Sort of a shield that turns everything that hits it into a Ring?
>>
>>45205050
That's not how it works.

Glass is more like a magnifying glass.

Let's say I cast Arrow][Ring.

That means I shoot somebody 5 spaces infront of me, and they now have ][Ring applied to them.

Now then I cast ArrowBallBall onto that same person.

As it hits that person, it's converted into ArrowBallBallRing.

>a little water hungry staff.

>>
>>45205401
what I don't know is this.

Does it REVIVE the spell, and recast it from that location? So the arrow is cast again out of him?

or is everyone around the person, as well as the person hit, also hit with the ArrowBallBall spell?
>>
>>45203272
You are very nice Knight-warrior-lady.
Rabbitspaw would offer goat cheese, but he ated it all. Is not too sorry. Was good cheese. Maybe delicious rice ball for nice knight?

Also, Rabbitspaw forgot to say this. Found a Mesmeria Illus. Book, which has "4 words" and "Lux | Hydra = Illusion". Mag+0, but 4 words means...
>Concentrates
Can do Ring and Ring and Ring and Block and this makes smart-clever illusion hiding field to protect everyone.
Or maybe Hand and Hand and Hand and Ring if Velen wants to move-transport an ocean. Or maybe clever summoner want to summon giant river to feed Khya's thirsty-hungry-evil staff. Or Arrow and Arrow and Arrow and Ring Lux stun bolt.
Also it has no "Level" requirement, so if Mage or Scholar or Alquemist or Summoner wants to borrow it is okay.
(only if Rabbitspaw get fancy Lux Pact, maybe nice mage can teach him to read proper, so he can understand what Lux is from this book too? That would be nice-kind).

>Offer Mesmeria Illus, 4 Words, Hydra+Lux(Illusion) to group.

I would have thought poison pulse was an antidote, and the inverse of that would be actual poison... what with Ley magic always being straight buffs usually.

Since I've been mentioning the Group Bank a bit I thought I should expand on it a bit.

Llama Banking on a whole is simple. You may deposit and withdraw items and zenni during the Crystal Corridor phase or whenever else the Llama is available. Zenni deposited earns 10% interest per floor. You cannot access your Bank on a regular floor.

The Group Bank is merely a collective account within the Llama banking system for the Wyrd Hunt.

The Group Bank itself is a place to put your items and zenni if you want to give it to the group at large, or wish to leave the items available for if you disappear in the future and have no way to distribute what you have gained to people who will use it.

Any interest gained on collective Zenny will go into the Death Fund for Runner Heirs.

I do my best to keep track of everything however keeping the items you've deposited under a Group Bank header on your own sheet is a good idea.

The current group bank list is here : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19UmhJ4grb5PYacAF5V-BXz1KgqT5yv4GXc7GIbI6zd8/edit?usp=sharing

A logical line of thinking, but that is sort of the job of Cleanse.

>with Ley magic always being straight buffs usually
True all of the Leyline effects we have seen so far have been beneficial to the target (or at least non-lethal in the case of Lux). There is still the unseen as yet Darc Pulse, which is most likely extremely lethal to non-Ghouls.

A posting on the Runner's Guild walls.

"Back_Ground"
Luxendarc has recognized both the WyrdHunt [and the Goldjoys, and a certain M, ] As heroes of Luxendarc and the first champions of Vidofnir. Far will their tales of infamy spread even going as far as inspiring up and coming Runners to join their ranks !

I dunno man, the Goldjoys I think were in on it... there was too many coincidences... well maybe their last surviving member can redeem them.
>>
>>45208409
The mage and the knight were definitely in on it. The pumpkin giant we fought was originally with the Goldjoys.

Sadly the knight did not survive. I am unsure if the mage made it out. I believe Tyrone simply was there because his cousins were there. And yes, he definitely proved that Goldjoys can learn to better then mere bullies and thugs.
>>
>>45208180
That is a beautiful painting of people meeting. And hurray for the heroes. I wonder what that ???? is though - something not unlocked yet or unknown?

S - is a stance ability, a toggle if you will. Activating this ability grants you some benefit until you deactivate the ability
A&M - I have no clue about
T - I am fuzzy on, the only ability I know that uses it is Jump, so it may just denote a targeted ability, but then it should be on tons of other abilities as well, and it isn't.

Take this with a grain of salt, it is just how I have observed this abilities to function in the past.

So maybe you pay the nice tailor 63 and then load 437 from the Wyrd Hunt. If you need to. Rabbitspaw did!

Rabbitspaw is now heavily armed librarian-rogue with guns.

>>45210820
S - Stance; you flip it on and you flip it of and then it modifies your stats + action

P - Passive, it allows you to do something without actively using the skill (rogue backstab always applies)

T - Turn Delay; you use it and its resolved next phase (Slayer Jump launches you into air, then you land in dungeon phase)

M - Modify, it Modifies equipment and changes their stats / capabilities

A - is Area - it has a varied effect depending on Area (Sacred Geometry gets power powerful if you tap 4 wards in a perfect square, Recurse can be any spell within your line of sight area)

R - Reactive; you use it and then until next turn any time someone causes you to do something you React (knight counter causes a counter attack reaction for every attack during the dungeon phase)

you missed
E - which is Environment Based ( Shinobi Orange Leaves disguises you in the Environment )

Oh and the roman numerals on the Shinobi indicate Chi Cost to activate that ability - chi being generated by dealing and recieving damage as a shinobi.

For Beginnings Summoners.
> Summoning requires one to draw a sign on the ground.
and then.
> Spending an elemental Shard or higher to call forth a Summon.

In order to exert the highest amount of Control over your Summons it's advised that you keep it to one Type At A Time.

=Using the Bind Rune=
Creatures captured through the Bind Rune will have its Aetha and Mezzier code saved in your book. Once it is
summoned, it cannot be summoned again using the same code. However it can be recaptured again.

Commanding Summons.
To give summons a strict order is one action. Much like casting a spell, they will follow it until a new one is given. Some summons [like faery and moth ] curtails this rule by either operating on their own or acting as an extension of the caster. Blowing a whistle recalls them to your side, stopping whatever it is they are doing. Using the dog whistle is a tap action and can be used as an overwatch in case your summons [Go too Far.]

Dismiss.
Summons can be dismissed by their owner, they revert back to an Elemental Shard of their element, this must be retrieved.

Can a navigator use Reversal on himself indefinitely?
>>
>>45215896
Well, casting spells is pretty hard if you're dead. But I guess you could do it for a full heal as long as you are conscious and alive.
>>
>>45216113

>>
>>45216113

>>45215012

Ahh shit.

Is it possible to switch Take Prisoner for Double Time? Or would that be a bad precedent to set?
>>
>>45210759
Ontop of that

>What are Breaths ? Dragon Breaths are a unit of magic gained through Pact magic, in this case Veritas Sworn get their power for LUX. Similarly, use of Lux based spells against them will give them an additional breath. What are they used for ? Well, Dragon Magic of course. As well as other spells that require mana.

> Are there other dragons ? Of Course ! Each one has a different set of laws and values to uphold. Some even drive you to Murder.
>>
>>45216167
The thing is, you can already throw Reversal around freely. It's not like it's a limited resource.

The main use for Reversal is reverting dead teammates to their former, living state. I guess a navigator could use Reversal on itself, but I fail to see the point.
>>
>>45216247
>The thing is, you can already throw Reversal around freely. It's not like it's a limited resource.

So... What are action points for then?
>>
>>45216320
how fast you are in a turn, if you use reversal on yourself all your previous actions are therefore negated because you went back in time and they never happened.

Also trying to cheese the system will piss off the game master and cause really bad shit to happen
>>
>>45216320
>>45216465
"I don't think that is entirely it. Perhaps I can explain in a way that makes sense."

"[Reversal] is an ability that returns its user to a previous state. Action points are a metaphysical representation of how quick a person is or how much time an action takes."

"Now, [Reversal] takes time to cast; about one action's worth of time. You will jump back in time, and be physically refreshed, but you will still have spent the time to use [Reversal]. The rest of the world does not jump back in time with you, so the cast time of [Reversal] has been spent. This leaves you with one unit of Action left to do with as you will."
>>
>>45216320
I'm pretty sure Reversal doesn't give you back your action points if you cast it on yourself. Also, the reason you don't create an infinite Accel loop is because you'll explode.
>>
>>45216203
>Or would that be a bad precedent to set?
I think you are free to change your mind until you deploy on the next Floor. Then you are set in stone, so to speak. Right now you are sort of nebulous. Also those are new skill you had no knowledge of, so it'd be harsh to penalize you for changing now.

>>45216320
>So... What are action points for then?
I can answer this and your previous question.
No, a Navigator can not cast Reversal infinitely, Reversal is a time rewind, but it still exists within the overall flow of time. Even cast on oneself, actions would still be consumed in the larger sense.
>>
>>45216555
>>45216561
Ok, gotcha. I think I'm going to roll a Navigator with Dilatation + Reversal if that's alright.

My plan is to revive teammates, plus I can cast it on frontliners/damaged people to "heal" the damage they sustained last turn, or cast them on a group of approaching enemies to send them back to where they came from.

Does this sound good to you guys?

I could also get Accel, to double the output of someone better than me. I dunno, I'm open to suggestions.
>>
>>45216615

Yessir, Khya.

>I can now compensate for my shoot or move dependency!
>>
>>45216651
also just a quick tidbit, you can't start as navigator, you can only start as the center 6 classes, so you'll start as guide if you want to go navigator, since only guides can become navigators.
>>
>>45216651
"Unfortunately, Navigator is an advanced class that may be advanced into from the Guide base class. If you wish to be a Navigator, you will need to first begin as a Guide and gain strength by completing a floor."
>>
>>45216668
Apparently we can now start runners from Luxendarc, though, so you can have a dragon pact! Also there may or may not be other consequences to doing so we are currently unaware of, in addition to the dragon pacts.
>>
>>45216668
Aaaaaaah ok. Then I'll be a guide with... Channel and Cleanse? Sound good?
>>
>>45216717
Wait, I can start with a Dragon pact?

Also, claiming a name.
>>
>>45216741
Yup!
>>45208180
See here, runners can now start from Luxendarc.

Comes with the same limitations, but you get access to all the Dragon Magic and whatnot. I don't know how Dragon Magic works, other than apparently you gain some during "daytime" if you have a pact. It sounds like being sworn to Veritas would give you access to Lux as an element regardless of your current focus, though. So as a starting guide you could also blind people with light pulses? I think?
>>
>>45216741
"Yes. If you claim LuxenDarc as your home, you may make a [Pact] with Veritas. This will increase your magic coefficient (MAG) by 1, and grant access to the [Dragon] school of magic."

"However, making a [Pact] with Veritas binds you to his will, and you will be required to follow a code of conduct; in this case, adherence to a doctrine of Absolute Law. I believe Sigmund, who has already [Pact]ed with Veritas, can help you with the exact details of this code."
>>
>>45216725
>Then I'll be a guide with... Channel and Cleanse? Sound good?
I'd recommend you take Pulse as one of your starting skills, it is the signature Guide ability. Pulse + Channel gives you the greatest flexibility in healing, but limits you to healing until you can level up. Pulse + Cleanse allows you to heal and remove status effects, but will force you a bit closer to the front lines.

The choice however, is totally yours.
>>
>>45216821
>Pulse + Channel it is!
>>
>>45216725
We always need more Guides. I'd suggest Pulse though, it's pretty much the Guide's central skill. But as I said, it's just my suggestion, and you're free to do as you wish. Having one more Guide is always good.
>>
OK so... I'd like to be Guide Valencia with Pulse and Channel!

In Verbatim:

Since You are making a pact with Veritas further details of this union is as follows:
-Increased Sight range by 3 [Total 8]
-Lux Resistance and blindness resistance.
- During "daytime" Those sworn gain 1 Breath a turn.
- Use of Dragon Magic, and some forms of Sword Magic.
- Ability to Transition to Alignment Appropriate Classes like Paladin.

Choosing to join will entail these consequences:
- Your thoughts and actions will be known to the Elder Dragon if you rouse a connection. So just be yourself, your BEST self.
- You will adhere to the Laws of Antiquity in their presence. Certain actions found violating this will stay your hand unless reason sides with you.
- Performing acts of Falsehoods your fellows and yourself is frowned upon, treachery in any form will earn you the silence of the Void.
- And Much Much More !

>>
>>45216988
Oh, Ok. I thought it meant level or something, sorry
>>
>>45216852
An excellent choice.
Channel allows you to form a Ley Line connection to a max of two other Runners. This will allow you to heal those Runners no matter where they are on the Floor, they will always be within your casting range. The Channel will collapse if you or your target fall to 0HP or below, or if you an rendered unconscious.
When you first connect a channel you will also give 1/2 of your MAG stat to your target as a 1 turn boost. This is great if you are channeling Mages, but for most other classes the MAG boost is kind of pointless. When Channeling Mages for the MAG boost, you will need to refresh your Channel each turn to give them the boost. You can refresh your Channel via your Channel, so you do not need to be in casting range of your target. God i hope that wasn't confusing.

Pulse allows you to restore HP = to your MAG stat to yourself or another Runner. As a fresh guide this means you heal for 4HP per Pulse (except for Knights, their Aethernumbness cuts your healing in half).

>>45216886
>What do I do now
We wait. Next up is a Corridor, which is mostly shopping (sadly you have no money yet, someone will give/loan you some, probably), then a game thread should appear at a later date (we just finished one, so there might be a bit of a wait)
>>
>>45215012
Is Evil Does Not Rest a passive, stance, or just a 1 turn buff?
>>
>>45217194

It'd be pretty garbage as a one turn buff so I am assuming it's a passive.
>>
>>45217130
Can I cast any beneficial spell via the Ley Line?
>>
>>45217258
Any beneficial Ley spell can be cast via Channel. So anything you'd learn as a Guide or Navigator, yes, except possibly Dragon Magic which again I don't know how it works. The magic boost also might be useful to non-mage classes who have dragon pacts, but we need more experimentation with that to find out for sure. Also Knights who have a pact have magic 2 instead of 0 and so you heal for the full amount.
>>
>>45217238
well it's not bad for a 'buff right before you smack somebody's shit' ability.

>>45217258
Leymagic is, by it's very nature, almost always beneficial!

Guide spells are never DIRECTLY lethal (they might debuff, DoT, or otherwise hinder a foe, but they'll never blast him with direct damage).

You really only have TWO spells that are variable. There is Pulse and there is Radiance (which is just AoE pulse really).

Pulse's effect is determined by the element of your rod. You start with a plant rod, letting you cast terras, hydras, or plant type pulses. Plant Pulse is a straight Heal Target for Mag.

We also know of several other pulses.
Lux pulse creates a light and stuns if it's applied directly to a target

Terras pulse creates blocks of solid matter

Hydras Pulse does... we think it summons water which is great for washing away runes and wards, and if it works like llama water, is a very minor cleanse and healing effect as well. Also good for putting out fires (they start with surprising frequency).

Darc Pulse we -think- damages living things and helps the undead, but we only know for certain it helps the undead.

Spirit Pulses (Arias+Lux) will apply an HoT

You can find out more about how magic functions and what elements there are in this handy guide (it's fuck huge, so don't worry, it's by no means mandatory to read this to play, let alone play well).

Hunter's Chain.

Hunters NEED hook and pull. It's just one of those things that make us FUCKING AWESOME.

Rig is going to be HELLISHLY useful next floor, because we have two hunters with RIG-NETWORK which lets us establish a teleportation network across the map!

Bloodlust is surprisingly useful, but NOT for it's stated ability, but because there are certain 'monster buffs' that will effect you too. On the first map there was "Blood Moon" which gave all enemies +1 Atk, +1HP, and bloodlust hunters got it too. It's not ALWAYS useful, but you're glad when you have it.

Suspension is almost always your go-to skill when in a group (and unless you have Lurk, what are you not doing in a group?) because it harms the enemy and buffs your more damage capable buddies.

Remember, hunters aren't the best DPS in the game. Knights, Militia, and even Rogues set up right, have us beat there. We're here to be that really annoying fuck on the battlefield disrupting enemy formations and putting them into situations that suck.

Now, about your iron maiden? It can trap just about anything. Even giant big-huge enemies (though it might kill them in the process).

Iron Maidens are HEAVY though, they'll slow you down by 1 Mov when you lug it around, and you'll want to lug it around because the best way for a hunter to make money, since you won't be getting many kills, will be from selling monsters. So wait till around the end of the floor, deploy your iron maiden, and hook and pull enemies into it. Then drag them with you off the stairs or onto the air ship!
>>
>>45218340
Trap all things in iron maidens and then give me and Zieg the organs.

That is certainly -an- option.

We can sell monsters to 3 different organizations currently.

Red Street, who break them down into hookers and blow (eventually), and will pay top dollar for some.

The Shairiya Clinic, which will convert monsters into organs to be implanted into Ghouls.

The Scholomance, which wants them to turn into runic knowledge and research papers.

All of them will pay us handsomely for monsters we capture. With the Clinic offering to convert them directly into ghoul implants instead.

We can also let an Adept Rogue [Scuttle] them into their monstery parts.

Iron Maidens can be walked over once they have been triggered from what we can tell.

We have no idea how hook and pull functions with rig. Rig is a fairly expensive skill since chains cost 30z. We've not used it much before now.

That's probably going to change now. We'll be learning alot more about how rig functions shortly.

The floor guide says inscription can go on walls. so why not wards as well
>>
>>45219037
wards have to be stood upon from what we can tell to take effect. I guess somebody could touch a wall while next to it though?
>>
>>45219037
>The floor guide says inscription can go on walls. so why not wards as well
That is a question that has come up a lot. I do not know the concrete answer myself.

I feel it might have something to do with Wards needing to be stood on (for whatever reason). Or the fact that a Rune is a remote casting point, so allowing it on walls gives more options to how spells are cast from it. A Ward is a remote casting target, meaning Guide abilities activate at the Ward, and having it on a wall would make things more complex as to if a player were actually in contact with it.

Yeah, not really a good answer I guess.
>>
>>45219218
the difference lies in this.

Runes are a casting LOCATION not a casting TARGET

you can cast FROM a rune.

Wards, like Rigs, can only be TARGETTED. They can't be cast FROM, only TO.

I get that its a location.
but when runes are drawn on a wall it becomes a matter of thinking of each square as a 3 dimensional block instead of 2 dimensional tile.

A ward makes that tile targetable, but putting that ward on the side of the 3 dimensional tile still denotes that same tile.

If, however, it involves touching the ward or righ then its different. But that also will bring further problems if anyone learns to levitate in regards to whether they are effected by ward if they aren't actually touching it

Mid battle hunter puts down rig. Boss walks over it.

Yep. And Hunter-Ghoul is just the fucking terminator. He just DOES NOT DIE and keeps gaining stats as he kills his foes and assimilates them through Devour.

Then he regenerates health as you shoot him, and rips and tears and generally makes a mess of things.

And holy -fuck- if you find a way to give his restraints fire resistance then he's sitting pretty because you've just removed the one thing that can one shot him.

Ghoul is Terminator, Slayer is the nuke.

Hunters get best advancements. I can't wait to see what the pure hunter build is.

Is the Sword Rune from a book in our possession?
>>
>>45226789
I think it's just straight up from adept skills.

It's pretty awesome!

As a shape, it lets you smack the hell out of stuff without risking hurting your friends in close range (like a focused ring), but if you use it as a Modifier (SwordOrbOrb versus OrbSwordSword) then it's giving you +2 Mag and hits against Def rather than MDef.

Now that's no good against say, a Knight, who I'm willing to bet still has aether numb applied to that magic damage. But it will EVISCERATE low armor folks like guides, mages, and rogues.
>>
>>45223995

>Burkhard considers this.

Make sure that when you are going to shoot that some one hasn't walked in front of you first, read the turn movement before you post. It would be best that you stick to the front or the sides for this but you are doing that anyway as a rogue.

Since you don't have the vast quantities of ammo or means to buff your loaded guns it might be worth keeping your guns to pick off squishy back line buggers and medium targets, you are naturally mobile after all. One shot even without any militia skills will pulp every caster class available so far, and if what I suspect to be true is true that means go for Guides and Navigators like stink on a skunk.

Oh yeah and try to remember to keep your guns loaded, this isn't so much of a problem with your 3 actions but it should be said.

>But yeah, there are 3 support classes in the game.
>Hunter (support by Crowd control), Guide (pure healing and force multiplicatioN) and Mage (territory control, and ability to advance into the two baddest ass force multiplier buff classes in the game)

From my experience I would take issue with this statement. First let's declare what do we mean under "support class" and "objective class" maybe? The objective of the game is what? Killing stuff? Moving from point A to point B? Or just basic survival? Usually it constitutes all 3 of these and sometimes more. Let us talk only basic classes for now and ignore Advanced classes as those are theoretically just more powerful versions of the basic ones with multiclassing options.

If the objective is "killing stuff" then mage is definitely not a support class because Mage has one of the biggest damage potential in the game with AOE right up there with Militia and Rogue. Countless elemental effects to choose from, not limited to items like bombs etc. Knight is rather a support class because while the damage can be formidable they are clearly outmatched by Militia and Mages by the simple fact that they are melee. (Slayers are a different story) So then Knight has the options of holding up the enemy with their blood and guts that is rather a support role to me,

If the objective is "moving from point A to B" Then Hunters, rogues and guides are not support classes because they can enhance the movement of other slower classes.

If the objective is "basic survival" then it is even harder to tell which class is the "objective class" and which one is the "support class" because while healers directly keep people from death by removing the damage, other classes like damage classes do that indirectly by removing the source of the damage.
>>
>>45228603
Fair point poka, but I'd argue none of those classes are at their shiniest when dealing pure damage.

Mages are at their best when threatening entire segments of the board with sheer firepower, or by putting down special effects that deny territory.

Hunters are at their best when capturing and suspending enemies.

yes, it's debatable, but no one is going to argue that a Mage can out DPS a militia with equal prep time and resources. Or that a hunter will out DPS a knight.
>>
>>45227635
Rabbitspaw wonders. If clever militia-Burkhard was helping, Rabbits could Switch guns with someone, they could load it with extra better-improved shots and Rabbitspaw could switch the gun back.
Is only going to be helpful if right next to each other, but is still smart-good trick. Or maybe Rabbitspaw switches gun with Graham and reloads and switches back and then Graham runs towards target and gets really close and shoots.

Guns are fun-interesting. Thank you for your instruction, Mr. Burkhard-bossman-sir. WIll try not to shoot teammates in the head. Promise!
>>45228603
So does this mean Rabbitspaw is support class? He stole Pardoner from death.

That would be nice.

>>45223882

>>
>>45229063
Only to other Militia. However, rogues or mages going into their family of classes tend to also "get it "
>>
>>45229187
Makes sense, guns are strange-odd and if Burkhard stuffed one full of powder and crystal and shots then Rabbitspaw is thinking he would blow-shoot his own foot of. Twice.

If only there was-is a rogue who knew how to use guns! Gun-rogue. Rabbitspaw thinking they could sling shots around, maybe-possibly a sort of slinger gun... is right on tip of Rabbitpaws tongue, swear to Veritas, gun-wielder? Sling-gunner?
Gunslinger?
No that's no good.

Ah... Rank and File classifications. The age old discussion of the ages. Let me begin by stating formally what the Runner's Guild bills them as.

" Runners travelling in the Melo Dia Spiral route travel rural and natural formations to ascend the stairs, it is noted that runners going this route favor taking on their adventures at walking speed but must needs be prepared for the influx of other runners, bandits, and migratory and infectious predators. Population centers swept up by the Malebolgia's pull also begin to cascade here, making this the fertile band by which most newcomers are greeted to an adventuring life, and where monsters wander to feed. Because of this, adventurers seeking a trade may enlist as these preparatory classes , classified by their proximity in fighting formations. "

Vanguards. A frontline combatant capable of mitigating and taking on enemy attacks directly as well as resuming their effective functions within reaching distance of their person. Vanguard traditions have proliferated greatly in Knights, but groomed Soldiers and other warriors have also learned to stand toe to toe with these monsters.

Strikers. Another frontline combatant often seated at the fore, or to the flank of the formation. The reason for this is that while strikers dont react well to the Enemy's attention , they make it their business to get close, and cut off a force's vital players within reaching distance. To help aide the frontline Vans they disable, deform, or simply scout the enemy with their very own eyes.

Sounds like Rogues and Hunters.
>>
>>45229366

Saviors. And of course as the attrition of combat begins to mount, time and wounds begin to accumulate. For this reason alone Saviors such as the Guides, Navigators or Scholars do well to ensure that vital parts of the group's functions do not fall to attrition and ultimately undercut the enemy's sacrifices by undoing their work.

Towers. And of course for every roaming group is the fixed point of the party, the hand that reaches from the back and sees the battle from the beginning to its end turns before it even transpires, this is the Tower and their role is quite simply to act as the agent that holds a strategy together to the very end. A nebulous proposal described only fittingly by what they do best- influencing the battle from afar, and able to do all but fight the enemy alone. This is the tower and it is in their best interest that the group remains alive, for without and they will always be half as effective as they can truly be.

In tactical shorthand, its better to describe these classes as Frontline and Rear, Offensive and Defensive ... and in the rare case where they are neither; Support.
>>
>>45229394
Mages simply seem the best equipped for that duty, given their wide range of capabilities to influence the battle.

Still your racing mind and heed my explanation of these laws. The Laws themselves are a gigantic force accounting for every permutation in our universe. But under them, people who lived under the light of these laws were promised these things;

I. Life without Harm.
2. Fairness without Exclusion.
3. Truth without Bias
4. Possession without Greed.
5. Work with due compensation.
6. Agreements with consent
7. Property with security.

Harming the foundation of any of these does not earn you the scorn of a punishing hand but instead the denial of these laws' blessings and those below them. On the other hand, adherence and even the enforcement on these laws will grant one the favor of the Elder dragon. Empowering you with further tools to carry out its laws in a bleak lawless world.

>>45232704
>>45232372
I shall continue the tale of the town of Luxendarc and the great peril it was under. In deep dark depths of a cursed forest a dragon lay dying. A great evil in the form of a trio of giant pumpkins had seized his body and his power. To free his spirit we cut the vines that bound his form and with a great leap and a greater blow together with Dragon's Aid we lay the pumpkin asunder, only to reveal the head of Vidolfnir.

The ending of this tale is not my tale to tell.
>>
>>45232851
>>45232877

wait so we got 5000z for each of us? Split between Me, Jenny, Livia, and Burkhard?

Well if that's the case I'm willing to split my share of that amongst everybody (I know I landed the killing blow on at least ONE of those 3 heads) Not gonna ask Jenny and Livia to do the same though.
>>
>>45232372

"Well if I didn't know any better I would swear we didn't leave Luxendarc"

>Sit down, produce diary
>Now, I helped get Coffee back on his feet with bread so that is at least 50z
>And I killed that big pumpkin, that should be worth 10z. I'll tell them about that fight, that'll be worth something.
>Did we get a cash pool to split? Not sure we did.
>And of course a cool and clean 150z from my Llama bank interest.
>210z + 775z = 985z in hand.

Fairly low gains on that floor, let's get fine exoendatures out of the way.

>20x Pumpkin Rounds for 360z
>Go see the Runner's Guild.

Ere' bossman hear me out, I killed a pumpkin treant by myself in Luxendarc in the defence of the Scholomance during the crisis in Luxendarc.

Bloody great thing it was, smashed through the library to inconvinience the mages and I held it back with gun and brass balls I did. And I did about 54 damage to it before the boffins put their wands together and dumped magic on it so hard that it turned back into a tree!

I hope they've put a plaque on it next time I go, I always wanted a monument named after me.

>With that done Burk heads to the Order shrine and plonks himself down next to Issac.

"Evenin' Squire. How's the hangover?"
>>
>>45232372
oh goddamn it Llama? Did you really increase the price on chains?
>grumble gripe
>>
>>45232372
OH! Before I forget.
>Sell Pumpkin Traitor to Schola
>Split proceeds 50/50 with Livia, return Livia's refurbished Maiden.
>>
>>45232877
My Lady Jenny. I shall end this tale. The great dragon bid us to destroy his head and his eye so none undeserving could steal his power. With heavy heart I did as bid. Thus the town was saved.

Thus too ends the tale of Vidofinir. Luxendarc's protector. And begins the tale of Veritas, friend to the Wyrd Hunt and dragon reborn.
>>
>>45232892
>Tilts head very slowly
"Work with due compensation".
>Tilts head the other way
Possession without Greed.
>Blinks.
Fairness without Exclusion.

Is "group reward". Wyrd Hunt is Group.

Unless Livia and Jenny and Burkhard Hetros-man want to split-part-share large bounty deal with Vidofnir and Scholomance Mages and Armistan-Armswright-Weapons-Maker and Skelter-skeletons-Brothers and Llama, Rabbitspaw suggests kindly is split with Wyrd Hunt.

Truth without bias.

>>45232949
>>45232877
>>45232908
Yay! Rabbitspaw would clap but his hand are full of riceballs. Exciting-fun-joy story!

Rabbitspaw doesn't have fun story. Oh-oh! Maybe? Am stole Pardoner from Death-bleeding-reapers! Am facing of evil-false Rabbitspaw doppelganger and blow evil-twin up! Also may have committed greatest Scholomance robbery in 100 floors but Rabbitspaw is really-very sorry-apologetic for last one.
>70 zenny!

Your stories were-was so much better. And colorful. Thank you-yours for saving everybody. Is-was very nice. Rabbitspaw likes not being dead.
>>
>>45232372
Mordenkainen approaches the Runner's Guild representative, curiously noting the line of bounty posters up on the wall.

"Excuse me, but I have a question about those bounty posters there. While in LuxenDarc, I encountered two mages with cracked masks. One was possessed by a Dark Weasel, the other carried a special tempatrium chalk that could destabilize terminus fields. I know not if these were Blood Mages, Void Mages, or Summoners, but I have the chalk as proof of the kill of one, and according to the Libra tis' a tool of the summoners that have resurfaced."

>Show Tempatrium Chalk as proof of kill

"Does this fulfill any outstanding bounties? I am unused to this kind of work, so I know not."
>>
>>45232704

>Sidle up to Jackie.

"'Ere boss, is this the place where we use that thing our 'friends' gave us?"
>>
>>45233134
Not yet, we have to follow this compass. Want to accompany me on a little trip after we visit the stores Sergent?

(I gotta go through the entire mess of threads to get my kill counts so I might be a bit)

Rabbitspaw is not very good with Magic, but is curious.

If he puts Courier Uniform (+1 DEF, +1 MOV) and Work Clothes (+1 MOV) and Prison Clothes (+1 DEF) and a LUX shard and a DARC shard in the Fusion pot, then is that good or bad or not-neither-either?

>Does the order accept armor too or just weapons?
I'm sure they take both, those the Order helps, could use both armor and weapons.
>>
>>45236172
Oh and Poka, you might want to combine the Wand with some chalk for one of our [E] friends.
>>
>>45236535
Why so? Don't they already have better ones that the Instructor's staff?
>>
>>45232910
As I shall be joining the group you may borrow mine. I was a little too eager in my use of my savings and am currently unskillful in their use.

>>45236006
With your physiology, could you not remove and enchant them?

Back to my previous statement of my lack of funds. May I ask any of you to provide a pittance of funds so I can buy some food for our trip up.

Pulling out my pearly whites sounds very painful. It's not something I would try right now, I'm not sure of how far I can go

Not ones that can write Runes at 4 tile range. Right now they have to use their chalk to draw Runes at touch range.

Jackie will you open the Guild bank for newcomers?

You need your chains more than I do. I have a nice set of 10 of the suckers. But it's unpleasant to realize how drastic a price increase they've undergone.

After the item fusion is done

>Deposit the Instructor rod to item bank for our Editors benefit.

Visit the Ignyllian Order's holy Memorandum of the Highest saints of Knights most heavenly and Supreme.
>Donate Acronaut's helm to the Memorandum
>Pray, reflect on the battle against Vidolfnir, when Poka's power was too weak to save all that needed healing, only the noble dragon's sacrifice saved us all.

When business is concluded at the Runner's Guild, Mordenkainen will head to the Scholomance.

"It seems as though it is time to find a new book for myself; one cannot ruminate on the same texts forever. What better way to receive fresh knowledge, than to make it anew?"

>Combine Pyras Tome and Hydra Tome
>Purchase Red Compass (-800z)

After this, Mordenkainen will visit the Order, to bring them the ill tidings of their former Deacon.

"Mine apologies, for I know of no gentle way to word this, but I believe there was once an individual called 'Deacon' in your service. I am afraid that while in LuxenDarc, it seems they have passed away due to unexplained circumstances. I found their head, rotten and riddled with plague deep in the catacombs beneath the city. Darker still, there is someone that has begun to masquerade as the recently deceased Deacon, no doubt for some nefarious purpose. There was also a Paladin named Sir Pogram, recently freed from his service to the dragon Vidofnir after it was slain, whom voluntarily chose to follow this false Deacon fully knowing that the Deacon of old lie dead. Other than myself, Militiaman Watchful, and Sir Pogram, I do not believe anyone yet knows of this treachery, but it may be prudent to warn those of your Order to tread carefully around this False Deacon."

>Mordenkainen is not a religious man, but he will offer up a [Prayer] for the recently deceased Deacon all the same.

We're now in autosage mode.
Just a warning.
>>
>>45232372
Just realized. Somebody should "Remember a Rune" for chain. It's a word/rune we've seen before that we could use again.
>>
>>45232372
If even an idiot can draw a ward then does that mean I could try my hand at drawing one for a guide to link with leylines later?
>>
>>45239245
I think bad things happen if nonmages or non-guides draw wards/runes.
>>
Non-magic users can and have drawn viable wards before.
