The women and children screamed as one after another, your village's militia turned into spears, swords and shields. Just those five goblins had managed to subjugate your entire village by waving their hands, and effortlessly casting an extremely high level spell: the Curse of Ferro. They must've been 'Stamped' - it was a new kind of magic technique that was being used to sweep the kingdom with the Curse of Ferro via mooks.

"Too easy!" one of them chuckled, as he snapped his fingers towards you.

You felt your flesh turn cold, your veins start to freeze. No, you had to fight! This couldn't just end like this!
Falling like lumber, you hit the ground with a clang.

You couldn't move.

"Hey, look. This guy turned into a suit of armor!"

You were helpless.

---*---

You had dreams. One day, you would inhereit your family's business and perhaps even marry a fair maiden, become a father and have apprentices of your own. That future was gone now - it had been taken away from you. You had been turned into a mere tool for the forces of the enemy.

Who were you?

You were Dan Smith. Carpenter, with experience in metalwork.

You were wrapped in leather, and transported for weeks. You remember going on a boat, on chariots, hearing the muffled voices of goblins, orcs, and other horrid beings. During all of that time, you struggled, you willed with all your might to *move*. There were no results, but you didn't care. You kept on fighting, fighting with your will.

You were eventually unwrapped, and left against a stone wall in a corridor like a rag-doll. You managed to see that your only company was a beautiful white-haired woman with a blind eye.

"Let's see now..." she muttered, as she put a palm on your armor.

"Servant of forgotten metal, heed my orders. Potentia!"

You felt something within you surge, an inner fire become alight. She kept her hand on you.

"Stand."

You stood.

"Good. Now listen well. Just stand here. But if someone besides me tries to get in that door, stop them."

She pulled out a necklace from the neck of her dress, and held a small wooden cylinder that hung from it, and then, jabbed your hand with it.

You suffered in silence immediate, mind-shearing pain. The metal of your gauntlet warped, creating a circular imprint.

"You can use the Stamp too." she added. "Just gesture and will them to become metal". She removed her palm from your chest, and nodded, satisfied. Then, she left down the corridor.

Like hell would you stay here, guarding some damn door.

You kept on struggling, FIGHTING to move.

With all of your desire and hopes, you WILLED to move.

shhriek

You gasped in your mind. Your ring finger had lifted

shhrieeek

You had opened your hand.

You could move! It was hard, but finally, after so long, so many days of struggling... You... You could move!

You took a step forwards. It was a heavy, straining task, but you soon stomped the ground in front of you. Aha! You could walk! To hell with her commands!

FREEDOM!

You focused on moving. You felt heavy - but you discovered that it wasn't because of weight. Weight felt vertical, pulling down. This was pressure all over you, pushing you to physically compel to her orders. Magic? It seemed like it.

You strained yourself, and tried to raise your arms the fastest you could - there was resistance, but you fought against it.

More!

You tried to thrash around - which translated into a slow dance of effort. Then, right there, you hit a sweet spot - you felt it. You kept on pushing the restrains, further!

...Snap!

You nearly tripped as you felt your inertia became released. You recovered your stance. You felt so much lighter, so much looser. You could circle your shoulders and arms pretty well now. You were still burdened by the actual weight of the armor, but no longer as tied down by whatever was restraining your movements. Aha! Progress!

You opened the door. It... Had no lock. Huh.

Aah. That's why she assigned you to guard it.

There were several weapons in here, chained to the walls. Were they transformed people? There were... So many. You tried to lift one.

So... Heavy. But still... Manageable.

You were convinced that you would be able to bring one with you, but not more. Having a tool would be useful, if you eventually had to fight your way through. Besides, they were people! You couldn't just leave them here - and if things went south, you could drop them and save yourself. You had a huge sense of heroism, but you had to be pragmatic if you were to save more people.

As far as you knew, you were the only one that could actually move while being transformed, which was revolutionary.

There were three weapons which seemed to have the loosest chains. The others had their chains more entangled or more secure restrains.

>Take the Shield: This could protect most of your body. Handy defense and it can also be used to slam into people.
>Take the Halberd: A long, two-handed weapon. Excellent range, but harder to use than the other options.

You took a shield. It looked elegant, and elven in design, but it was heavy and sturdy at the same time. What a peculiar combination.

You exited the room, closing the door behind you. You could then hear footsteps - you scurried to put yourself in a guarding position, in front of the door. You wouldn't be able to outpace anyone, plus whoever it was nearly caught you by surprise, so you chose to disguise.

"HUH. You're the new guard?" an orc that appeared taunted to you. He knocked your helmet, and you remained stationary, as the hollowness clanged out.

"Move aside." he commanded. You didn't budge.

"MOVE IT."

Mentally, you chuckled. You technically had 'orders' to not let anyone in here, besides, you kinda didn't want this 'handsome' guy to get to the weapons anyway.

He put his hand on your shoulder, and tried to push you aside, with effort. You started to be forced to lean aside. You wouldn't be able to feint being a statue for too long without losing your stony stance.

Regardless of choice, roll 1d100, best of first three.

"I move... For no man." you tell him.

"MOVE...." He rose his both fists "A-SIDE!" and slammed them down. You mustered your grit, and braced yourself. YOU WOULD NOT MOVE!

CLLLAAAANG.

The orc bounced off your surface, so hard that he hit the wall behind him. You... Understood your form. The metal you were made of, and the Curse of Ferro. It all made sense in your mind, and in a flash of inspiration, managed to use that illumination to brace yourself perfectly.

Then as the impact resounded throughout your body, across your helmet, down to your chest plate, to your gauntlets and into your shield, it traveled back from it with an echo that you managed to hear due to your now increased synchronicity with your metal form.

"H-Hello! Anyone?" a high-pitched, graceful female voice said. It sounded... Elven.

The orc huffed, and scrambled away. You focused more on the voice that you could now hear. You... Focused, and tried to silently communicate with her.

"Hello?" you asked.

"You can hear me!?" the voice replied. "Finally!"

"Well, yeah. Now I can." you said, still pretty surprised yourself.

"You can move, but you're transformed!" she replied. "That's... Amazing!"

You chuckled. "Yep."

"The woman with the blind eye - you know her, right? She has a dagger - a Damsel Dagger. That can undo the Curse! Please, please go get it! We can undo this form that we have upon ourselves!"

Hrm. This changed things, and you continued to ponder as you walked down the hallway, eventually finding a window. You could try to escape now - you could just throw yourself out. Your metal body would withstand the fall, you educated guessed. But the option of the Damsel Dagger was tempting as well. What would be best choice be?

You decide to venture in further the fortress. You went further down the hall, and reached a large, wooden door. Behind it, you could hear a ruckus of squeal-like voices, pot and pans. It had to be a goblin canteen of a sort.

You leaned against the door, and tried to listen closely to their yelling and gossip.

"Guys, we should be quiet, the Miss is going to be angry if we're not orderly!"
"Pffft, shut UP you twerp! She never comes around here. Clarentia spends all her days wanking at her tower, BWUAHAHAHA!"

You had to think of a plan to get passed them.

You try to walk right pass them. You marched straight to the other door, ignoring every single one. Because you remained so stoic and stiff, you didn't part your way from a pair of drunken goblins that bumped into you.

"Oooooy. WATCH WHERE YOU ARE GO'N, YOU... METAL TWERP!"
"Ye... YEAH! You.. YOU LOOKING FOR TROUBLES, TIN CAN?"

You stopped and sternly replied.

"I am going on orders from Claren- HNGF!"

The two goblins attacked you, and started to wrestle with your arms and legs. Soon enough, the others started to join in the 'fun', with enthusiastic cheers.

"DIBBS ON HIS FERRO SHIELD!" one of them claimed.

"Let's see who GETS IT FIRST, GUEHAHAHA!" another yelled.

You've never used your Stamp to cast the Curse of Ferro before , so you don't know what consequences there could be for using it yet - but you did know that it would be effective for combat. That's how these kind of beings ridiculed your village's militia.

>Level 3: On every single one.

You prepare your Stamp, and start to gesture at the goblins, and one after another, they started to become inanimate objects - swords, flails, shields... It seemed so simple, so straightforwards.

They started to use their Stamps against you in retaliation, but it was futile. You already in a cursed form!

The whole room was left clean of living beings. You exhaled mentally, relieved.

Then, it hit you. You mind started to feel twisted, it started to bend - reality started to become blurry. What was going on?

"Armor guy, are you alright!?" you could hear the Shield elf yell at you. You collapsed to the ground, and held your head. It felt like it was going to burst.

And started to giggle. It started as a chuckle, but then it grew into a full-fledged laughter.

You held your head down again. Wh-what was that? It wasn't you! You tried to control it, whatever it was, and brace it down.

The... Stamp. It had consequences for your sanity. It didn't seem to have much of an effect on goblins, given that they are crazy and homicidal regardless, but for you, this was a problem. You needed to keep control if you were to complete your tasks - starting to lose the grip on your actions could be dangerous.

[You have discovered that using the Stamp has consequences. The next time you use it, you will see a Sanity consequence table and roll for it, depending on how much you ask of the Stamp.]

You left the defeated canteen and went past it, through the annexed hallway and further into the fortification, then up a tower. You reached another door. It was posh, and more cleaner than the goblin's. You guessed it to be Clarentia's. You could even hear some faint footsteps on the other side.

DC: 70, Roll: 52

You waited for her to exit. When she did, you immediately tried to ram her into the wall, but she managed to jerk backwards and avoid your attack. You had missed!

"You! But how!" she exclaimed, glaring at you. "You were supposed to be guarding the door! H-How are you even HERE?"

You grinned on the inside. Via sheer willpower alone, you had managed to break through her compulsions. She followed up by firing a bolt of ice from her hands towards you, which exploded on your surface and left you chilled.

She went to put her palm on your armor, and immediately started to mutter an enchantment.

"Reverse the Servant....-"

She was going to undo what allowed you to move! No way!

You struck her off, and pushed her aside, then took a few steps back and put yourself en garde again.

"I have no choice but to kill you, Armor." she said. "A deviancy like you is too dangerous to leave around!"

Her hands illuminated with more magic - and it didn't seem like more ice this time.

Fight!

Stamp 0

Misread the Stamp levels. Level 1 just means that the first roll is taken.

Fuck, if she's half as powerful as I think she is, we should hold back, and she'd make a kickass magic sword!
