You are Kline Bueller, and you are in your old room, snoozing away. God, this takes you back. You often slept around in your bed when it was time to wake up, and your sister came in and pinched your cheek-

Wait, what?

You open your eyes to see Maria frowning at you. "Wake up, you lazy oaf! How can you sleep in such a beautiful day like this?"

"..Go away, dream Maria." You mutter and return to the blissful land of sleep.

At least, you tried to before the blonde roughly shook you awake. "Agh, I'm up, I'm up."

You rise out of bed, wearing your pajamas as you turn to look at Maria, who is clad in a pink nightgown.

"What is it?" You murmur.

"Aren't you supposed to go to visit that girl today?" Maria snaps.

>"Oh, shit."
>"She can wait."
>"Let me get dressed."

>"Let me get dressed."
>>

"I'll get dressed." You groan as Maria leaves the room, leaving you to get changed. You wonder if she was your mom from another world.

Emerging from your room with clothes on and cleaned up, you head downstairs and sit in the living room, waiting for your guildmate.

Your mother is in the kitchen, from the sounds coming inside. Bless her heart, she always tries to keep that place clean.

Stomping noises can be heard coming downstairs as Maria enters the living room wearing a sleeveless dress.

"Can we go now?" Maria demands. "I want to go outside and look around your little...home."

>"Fine, fine."
>"Yes, your majesty."
>"Just waiting on you."

"Yes, your majesty." You sigh as you get up and head out the door, Maria following along.

The two of you walk around the village, Maria taking in the sights as usual. For someone that acted like commoners were beneath her time, she was pretty excited to see some mundane things as a well and a weather vane on top of a rooftop.

"That design! Is that even a real bird?" Maria pesters you.

"It's made out of pewter." You say flatly.

"Impossible!" The blonde frowns.

"...We're here at last." You stop at a house with a red rooftop, the one you recognize as your childhood friend's house.

"..It doesn't look as nice as your house." Maria says.

"Be nice." You scold her.

You then knock on the door two times, Maria having a puzzled look on her face.

"Why are you doing that?" She asks.

Suddenly, the door swings open and a orange-haired girl with pigtails appears in the doorway.

"Well, I'll be darned. If it isn't Kline!" She smiles at you.

>"Nice to see you again!"
>"Hey, Millie."
>"You look cute as usual."

>"Nice to see you again!"
>>
>>45240641
"Nice to see you too, Millie." you reply.

"It's been so long since I've seen you!" Your friend smiles, then notices Maria. "Who's the fancy looking girl behind you?"

"One of my partners from the guild." You shrug. "She said she wanted to see how commoners lived."

"I never said that!" Maria exclaimed.

"She sounds like one of those snooty people, hm?" Millie smirks.

"Stop talking like I'm not here!" The blonde cleric shouts.

"Sorry, sorry." Millie sighs. "Didn't mean to get you all mad." She then gestures you two to enter her house.

As the three of you enter her living room, you look around, staring at the photo of you and Millie as kids.

"You kept that?" You ask.

"Of course, silly! You remember the time when you used to be my dressing dummy?" Millie grins.

"Oh, did he now?" Maria grins as well, although for a different reason.

>"Can we change topics?"
>"You don't get to laugh, Maria."
>"Not that story again..."
>>
>>45241719
>"Can we change topics?"
>>
>>45241719
"Can we talk about something else?" You say quickly.

"Fine, if you say so. My dad wanted to see you about giving something to you, although what I don't know." Millie shrugs.

"Is he in?" You ask.

"He's out in the back, working the wood." Your friend sighs. "He's gonna work himself raw at this rate."

Maria's face is the shade of a tomato as she registers the conversation. "H-How lewd!"

"Huh? What's so lewd about taking care of the morning wood?" Millie looks at Maria. "It's not like he's gonna blow his-"

"Stop! Just stop!" Maria then runs upstairs in a hurry.

"...What's her problem?" Your childhood friend looks at you confused.

"N-Nothing..." You chuckle. "Maria's just like that sometimes..."

"Strange girl." Millie agrees. "So, you wanna see him now or later?"

Let's keep talking.
>>
>>45242350
"I'll just talk to him after he's done." You sigh. "Don't want to interrupt the man's work."

"I'll go see what Miss Prissy-pants is upset about." Millie sighs as she heads upstairs.

You relax into the big comfy chair you saw Millie's father sit in when you were a kid. He was an expert adventurer when he was younger and he taught you the basics of being an adventurer. Without him, you'd be in a real pickle.

"Leave me alone!" Maria's wail could be heard upstairs.

"This is my house, I can't just leave you be! And stop messing up my parents' bed! My mom's gonna nagging like crazy if she finds out about this!" Millie's voice rings out.

"I don't care!" Maria half-sobs.

You let out a yawn. This was gonna be a long wait.

What do you do?

"You better care!" Millie shouts. "I don't wanna get yelled at!"

"How is that MY problem?" Maria snaps.

"Your body is on her bed, and you're gonna fix it or I'm gonna hold here until she arrives, and tell here that it's your fault!" The orange-haired girl yells.

"You'll just get in trouble too!" The cleric shouts.

"Better you than me!" Millie snaps. "Now get off!"

You hear Maria yelp as a thud can be heard upstairs. Millie can be tenacious when she wants to be.

"Now get up and move that butt of yours!" Millie snaps angrily as a door slam can be heard and her stomping reaches towards your ears, your friend entering the living room, looking weary.

"...You ok?" You ask.

"Fine. Dealing with that girl is like dealing with my cousins. It's nothing that I can't handle." Millie wipes the sweat off her brow.

"If it's any consolation, her mother handles her the same way you do." You offer.

"I wonder why she didn't take after her mom, then." Millie groans as she flops onto the couch.

"Beats me." You shrug. Suddenly, the back door can be heard knocking into a wall.

"I'm done!" A gruff male voice echoes out. "Millie, you made that lemonade?"

"In the icebox!" Millie shouts.

"Alright. Is Kline here yet?" Millie's father replies.

"In the living room!" His daughter shouts, then turns to you. "You better go see him."

"Kline, you there? Come on in here, boy!" You sigh and stand up, making your way into the kitchen. As you enter, you see an orange-haired man with a beard, drinking a glass of lemonade. This was Miller Barba, your mentor.

"Did you want to see me, Uncle Miller?" You ask.

"Yeah, I didn't know if you were coming back here or not. I want to give you something special." Miller states.

>"What is it?"
>"Another lesson?"
>"Your daughter's hand in marriage?"
>>
>>45243052
>"What is it?"
>>
>>45243052
"What do you want to give me?" You ask.

"My sword from my adventuring days. I've held on to it for so long... I think it's time that it finds another owner." Miller sighs.

"I can't accept-" You start.

"Boy, don't you dare say can't accept anything from me. This is my gift to you." Miller frowns. "And I want you to have it."

"I don't know what to say." You admit.

"Don't say anything. Just come with me." The man stands up and leaves the kitchen, you following him.

As the two of you enter the living room, you see Millie splayed onto the couch, lazily looking at you both. Seriously, she should wear something that doesn't show those damn long legs of hers.

You and Miller pass by Maria, who is grumbling angrily about bossy women.

"Friend of yours?" Miller states.

"Yeah." You say.

"She'll won't last long in a real adventure." Your master states as you two reach the attic and head on up. You see many things your mentor collected on his adventures.

"There it is." Miller heads over towards a mithril blade near a corner. "My prized possession."

"My gods." You whisper.

"I remember getting this baby from a ruined temple from the god of war." Miller sighs. "Seems so long ago. And now, it has a new owner." He offers the sword to you.

>Take the sword.
>Refuse.
>>
>>45243428
>Take the sword.
>inb4 we aren't strong enough to wield it
>>
>>45243428
You take the sword and you feel the power coursing through your hands. This feeling welling in your body... it was amazing.

"I don't think I can even wield this..." You mutter.

"Trust yourself, boy. As long as you train your mind and body, it will become your greatest ally." Miller states.

"Thank you, uncle." You nod.

"Now let's go downstairs and eat some cookies." Miller pats your back and the two of you head back down.

You enter the living room and see Maria and Millie glaring at each other, before they turn to you.

"Looks like Dad gave you his old relic, huh?" Millie grins.

"A relic that can kill you if used in the wrong hands." Miller sternly says. "Is your mother back from the store yet?" He then asks.

"I didn't hear the bell." Millie sighs. Just then, a bell rings from the outside. "Speak of the devil." She yawns.

The front door opens, and a tall and husky orange-haired woman enters. This was Milde, basically your mom's antithesis. Whereas your mom was a sweet and understanding woman, your aunt Milde was stern and bossy.

"Good gods, do you know how long it takes just to get a bunch of carrots? Those biddies at the store were like a pack of animals!" Millie's mom grumbles, then turns to you. "Kline? Miller, why didn't you tell me he was coming? I could've made something for him!"

"I didn't know." Your uncle groans. "I wish he'd send me a letter sometimes."

"Hi, Auntie." You wave.

"Come here, young man. Let me take a look at you." You walk over to Milde and she starts to examine you.

>"Do you really have to do this in front of everyone?"
>"I'm still healthy, Auntie."
>"Uncle, help?"
>>
>>45243764
Resistance is futile.
>"I'm still healthy, Auntie."
>>
>>45243764
"I'm fine, Auntie." You sigh.

"I'll be the judge of that." Milde frowns as she grabs your face and rubs her thumbs over your cheeks.

Maria is trying her best not to laugh. Miller and Millie look absolutely bored.

"There." Milde pulls her hands away from your face. "I worry about you sometimes, going on your dangerous adventures."

"Will you stop acting like the boy's mother? It's not like she worries about him too." Miller sighs.

"Well, she should start acting more like a mother! Someone has to look out for him!" Milde snaps.

"Mom, I'm hungry..." Millie whines.

"Fine, fine! I'll make dinner in a moment." Your auntie then spots Maria. "Who's that?"

"Excuse me, Ma'am. I am called Maria, and I am a cleric and Kline's partner-" Maria is cut off by Milde walking up to her and clasps her roughened hands with her smooth ones.

"Oh, thank the gods, he has someone to look after him!" Millie's mother shouts in joy. "Please, young lady, I beg you to take care of Kline. He needs someone to guide him."

"Moooom!" Millie whines.

"Hush, girl!" Milde scolds your childhood friend, then turns back to Maria. "I beg of you, grant me this request."

Maria blinks slowly and nods. "I will take care of Kline, ma'am."

You groan.

>"Can we eat now?"
>"Auntie, Maria messed up your bed."
>"I'm so sorry about this."
>>
>>45244066
>"Can we eat now?"
>>
>>45244066
"Great, that's nice. Can we have lunch now?" You ask.

Milde lets go of Maria and sighs. "All right, let me get into the kitchen." Your auntie heads off into the kitchen with her groceries.

"Thank the gods." Millie sighs. "Thought she'd never get in there."

"Well, I'm going to go check the storage. Be right back." Miller leaves the living room, leaving you alone with the girls.

"Did you hear that, Kline? I'm going to be taking good care of you." Maria smiles evilly.

"Hey, Millie, wanna go to the pond?" You ask, ignoring Maria.

"Hell yeah," Millie hops from the couch. "Been meaning to cool my body off." She stretches her arms. "Is Miss Prissy gonna go with us?"

"Stop calling me prissy!" Maria snaps. "And no! I'm going to help your mother!" She storms off to the kitchen.

"...I can practically hear the two of them gabbing like hens right about now." Millie groans.

"Let's go." You and Millie head out of the front door, leaving Maria in Milde's hands.

Soon, the two of you are at the pond, located through the grove behind Millie's house.

"Here we are." Millie sighs. "Well, no use standing around in our clothes in this heat." She turns to you. "You wanna go in or what?"

>"I'll just sit near the edge."
>"Sure."
>"You go on ahead."
>>
>>45244426
>"You go on ahead."
>>
>>45244426
"You go ahead." You say.

"Suit yourself." Millie then pulls off her shirt and flings it onto the ground and after that, her shorts, socks, and boots follow suit, leaving her in her underwear.

You turn your head away as something soft hits the ground. If your uncle saw this right now, he'd kill you. A loud splash signifies that Millie is in the water, skinny-dipping.

"This feels so good!" The orange-haired girl exclaims. "It feels so good, even without wearing my clothes!"

"Hope no one steals them." You remark.

"If they did, I'd kick their ass." Millie snaps haughtily. "I'd chase them down in my birthday suit if I have to."

"Please, don't." You sigh as you try to avert your eyes from seeing Millie move about in her birthday suit in the water.

Seeing your childhood friend in the buff when you were younger is one thing, but as grown adults is quite another.

"I wonder if dinner's ready yet?" You mumble out loud.

"Mom takes a long while to cook, so we still got time." Millie says. "Are you sure you don't want to join me?"

>"I'm sure."
>"Well..."
>"Fine, but I'm keeping my underwear on."
>>
>>45244854
>"I'm sure."
>>
>>45244854
"I'm good." You state your previous answer.

Millie shakes her head and dives back into the water. Gods, she was a good swimmer, but did she really have to be naked to swim? She was such a tomboy like that.

You lay back and look at the clouds. White puffs of cotton floating on by... So relaxing.

One of the clouds looks like a duck. Another cloud looks like a man's head. Another cloud looks like a fish. It seems like hours as you gaze at the clouds.

You let out a sigh as you slowly sit up to see a surprise, catching a full view of Millie's nude and wet body.

"GAH!" Your face heats up as you turn your head away. "Damn it, Mill!"

"What? It's not like we've seen each other naked before!" Millie laughs.

"We were kids! That's different! I don't want to see your...your..." You stammer.

"Melons?" Millie offers. "Or my private patch?" She turns around and shakes her hips. "Not even my big fat peach?"

"Please tell me you brought a towel." You groan.

"Nope." Mille smirks. "Not unless you give that shirt of yours."

You sigh as you take off your shirt and fling at your friend. Luckily, you had an undershirt on.

Few minutes later, Millie was dressed and holding onto your now-wet shirt. "Do you want this back or what?"

>"You can hold on to it."
>"I'll wash it when I get back home."
>>
>>45245234
>"You can hold on to it."
>>
>>45245234
"You can hold on it." you groan. "Seriously, you can be so..."

"Unladylike?" Millie sneers. "Like I haven't heard that before.

"Well, it wasn't my favorite shirt anyways." You sigh. "And I hated that color."

The two of you return to Millie's house, and Millie then heads upstairs. "Call me when dinner's ready." She calls to you from upstairs.

You then head into the kitchen and see Maria talking to Milde like Millie predicted, gossiping like hens.

"And then, he had the nerve to assume I was fat!" Maria sniffs.

"No!" Milde gasps. "Unbelievable!"

"Yes! That idiot insulted my figure!" The blonde shook her head.

"Men can be so insensitive sometimes." Milde frowns, stirring a pot on the stove.

>"Hey, ladies."
>"When's dinner ready, auntie?"
>"Umm..."
>>
>>45245464
>two women complaining about men

>walk into the room
This can only end in tears.
>"Hey, ladies."
>>
>>45245464
"Hey, ladies." You meekly say.

Milde and Maria quickly turn around and look at you.

"Is that any way to greet your aunt like that?" Milde scolds.

"Honestly, his manners are much to be left desired." Maria sighs as your auntie nods in agreement.

"Um, is dinner ready yet?" You ask.

"In a minute." Milde states. "Now stop bothering us and go do something." She shoos you away from the doorway.

You sigh and head up to Millie's room, opening her door and looking around. The walls weren't pink, but there were stuffed toys and dolls around the room. Millie was lying on her stomach on her bed, reading a book.

What do you do?

>Pester Millie

>Examine one of her teddy bears.
>>
>>45245678
You pick up a blue teddy bear and stare at it.

Gods, this thing looks like its seen better days. And that red bow looks faded. Sheesh, you think Millie would grow out of something like this.

"You do anything to Mr. Twinkle, and you're a dead man." Millie flatly says.

"He should be called 'Mr. Wrinkle'. Because that what he looks like." You complain.

"Your little mage friend didn't seem to think so." Your friend snorts.

"She was being nice, and so was I." You roll your eyes as Millie flips herself over, giving you an upside-down glare. Dear gods, you couldn't tell if she was trying to be funny or not.

"I don't care. I had that teddy bear since I was a kid, and I'm not giving him up." She defiantly growls.

"Fine, fine. Dinner's almost ready." You say.

"Gods, mom takes forever to cook." Millie sighs. "Wish I had your mom."

"I do not want your mom." You say. "I love her, but she's so overbearing at times."

"My mom, the perfectionist. I'll never know why dad married her." Millie sighs.

"Because you'd never be born." You reply.

"Good point." The orange-haired girl flips herself again on the bed.

Soon, the smell of delicious stew hits your nostrils and Milde's voice calling you two brings you both downstairs and into the dinning room, where Maria and your uncle and auntie are sitting.

Milde makes you all say grace, before you dig in. Using your table manners, you slowly take your time in eating your dish.

"Well? How is the food that I helped prepare?" Maria asks you.

>"...Lovely."
>"What's a nice word for 'blech'?"
>"It's ok."
>>
>>45246020
>"...Lovely."
>>
>>45246020
"It's...quite admirable." You managed to get out, looking at Maria's smug smile. You wish the gods would strike you down now.

"What kind of stew is this?" Millie asks.

"Cow liver stew with carrots and herbs." Milde states. "It's good for your body."

Miller is just eating without any complaints. Seems like your mentor is used to eating anything his wife makes.

You finish up the rest of your lunch, forcing yourself not to be insulting in the presence of your auntie. You hated liver, but you were raised to be more mature about things.

After dinner, you and Millie head back in her room, the girl flopping back onto the bed as you sit in her desk chair.

"Gods, that was... something." Millie groans.

"Yecch." You agree, sticking your tongue out.

"So, why don't you tell me a story or something from your guild?" Millie asks.

"Well.." you begin.

>"There was the time where..."
>"One day, I was..."
>"Recently, my and me friends were.."
>>
>>45246356
>"Recently, my and me friends were.."
>>
>>45246356
"Well, recently, me and my friends were hanging out at Maria's mansion, relaxing and having a good time." You say.

"Sounds like fun." Millie smiles.

"It was. Although we only got there by Maria chasing us." You laugh. "But she arrived at her house and was about to chew us out when her mom basically told her to knock it off. Gods, she looked like a scared puppy."

Millie giggles at that. "I can almost imagine that one."

"I know, right? Then her dad comes in and gives her a big ol' hug, and she's acting like a terrified alley cat." You snicker.

"Oh, man. I do not want MY dad doing that to me." Mille shakes her head. "Her family must be a riot."

"They are. Her brothers basically told me she wet her bed when she was young. So much for being a high-class noble." You say.

Millie snorts in laughter. "Sheesh, no wonder she's trying to act like her shit doesn't stink!"

"Ah, yeah. I guess trying to act like one of those nobles in books won't get you far out in the country." You sigh as you shake your head.

"Got any more embarrassing stuff of her?" Millie asks.

"She wears what your mom probably wears underneath her clothes." you say, causing Millie to have a fit of laughter.

"Ooh, g-gods!" Millie chokes out. "Who even wears underwear like that? S-she's really trying to be an old relic!"

The two of you laugh and laugh, then calm down a few minutes later.

"Oh, gods..." Millie pants. "I never heard something so funny before."

"Kline! I'm ready to go home!" Maria's voice rings out.

"Aw, damn. I gotta take her back to my home." You sigh.

"Are you gonna drop by tomorrow?" Millie asks.

>"Definitely."
>"We'll see."
>"Maybe."

>>
>>45246645
>"Definitely."
>>
>>45246645
"Definitely." You say.

"See you then." Millie waves at you as you leave her room and head downstairs.

Maria is tapping her foot as you arrive. "About time. I can't wait to show your mother my cooking expertise."

"You only helped out because Auntie liked you." You sigh.

"Whatever." Maria snorts as you two say your goodbyes to your uncle and auntie and head back to your home.

When you arrive at your house, you see your father talking to some men.

"So, that damn thing is back." Your father grumbles angrily.

"Yeah, we've tried to get rid of it, but it's ornery as hell." one of your dad's friends says.

"Freaking jumping beast." Another of dad's friends curses.

"Dad, what's going on?" You ask your father.

"It's nothing to worry about, Kline. Just a troublesome pest that appeared in the forest after your last visit." Your father sighs.

"Pest?" Maria asks.

"Some dad-gum varmint that's been messing with our stuff." the first man grunts.

>"Maybe I can help!"
>"Hope you get him."
>"I'm going inside now."

"Maybe I can help. What's the beast like?" You offer.

"It's too damn fast to tell what it even looks like. You'd be better off trying to trap it first." The second man snorts.

"I can make it so it gets stuck." You say.

"You can? Hah! This kid's got balls. Klint, I bet you 100 gold your kid can do it!" The first man snorts.

"I bet 100 gold he can't." The second man sniffs.

"Well..." Your dad scratches his cheek. "Fine, it's a deal. But you'd better get some rest, son. Don't want you getting too tired."

"Ok, tomorrow, then." You say and go inside the house. You head up the stairs as Maria rushes into the kitchen, no doubt going to get on mom's nerves again.

You enter your room and flop onto the bed with a sigh. Today was going to be a long day for you.

>To be continued.

And archived. Thanks for playing.
