“So what do you say?” you ask.

You and your crew have been gathered in one of the huts in the little Kaleesh village in the shadow of Fearghus’ palace. The Kaleesh were outside, celebrating the victory with ceremonial dance and song around the bonfire. While you were invited to feast and to dance with them, business must come first. And right now your business was with Fearghus. He rubs his chin, pensive. Vikker leans forward. “Listen, Fearghus, we just drove off those droids for you. We made things easy on you, no reason that Nauti-whatshisface is gonna send more just to rub out some no name place like this. Not unless he really was serious about destroying you all.”

“I am aware,” says Fearghus. “Very well. Let me tell you what happened. I was approached by Echani mercenaries in his employ, much like your friend here.” He motions to Whisper, who is carefully examining the head of a D-Wing. “They offered me 50,000 credits to have an important piece of cargo called the Force Harvester moved through hutt channels to another destination. And so I did, but to be sure I would be silent, they threatened me and the village with destruction should I divulge these details.” He looks clearly uncomfortable even telling you now.

“What else can you tell us?” you say.

“I called in my last favors with what hutts still tolerated me to have it moved. I didn’t tell them what it was, but they clearly were getting horrific feelings from it like I did,” he explains. “They moved it to the Outer Rim. To the Vahaba asteroid fields.”

“Vahaba?” Vikker blinks, grinding his tusks together.

“You know the place?” you ask.

“Used to be a big Alderaanian trader out there. Mined ores and fabricated metals. Then they got too greedy for their own good and became pirates. They’re so heavily armed out in that field that even the Empire doesn’t go near there unless in force.” he says. “What do a bunch of miners want with cargo that heavy?”

“I don’t know,” says Fearghus. “But that is all I know, I swear. The Echani were very clear to keep things on the downlow. Whatever they have in that asteroid field is out of my reach.” Fair enough, you wouldn’t expect a hutt who thinks he’s a Kaleesh to understand the importance of mining.”

“Vik.” He turns his head to you. “I think we need to accept that maybe our good friend Nautilus has managed to get into the Vahaban miners’ good graces and now they’re working for him. For all we know, that’s how he can afford to get all of these droids and mod them out like this.” Vikker nods slowly, then shakes his head in disappointment. “Listen, Fearghus, thanks for the information.”

“Yes, yes, of course,” he says. “You’re sure the droids will not be back?”

“I’m sure,” you say as you stand up. “We ought to get going. Maybe we can still catch the Harvester there before it moves again. Or better yet, maybe the Vahaba asteroid field is his base of operations.” You look over at Fearghus. “Listen, Fearghus, I don’t suppose you have any friends I can buy parts and scraps from?”

“Oh?” He tilts his head. “Well… I mean, there is one person.”

“Rhys!” Jennis D’Leer is quickly to hug you and kiss you on the cheek. “Aw, my baby! Haha!” She hangs onto you, motioning to the wrecks of all the Tri-droids, D-Wings, and Vultures shot down over the battle. “What are ya doin’ here?”

Fearghus clears his throat. “He needed someone that was selling things.”

“Oh?” Jennis lifts up her goggles, dropping out of your arms and looking around. “Well, I mean-…” She rubs her neck, sticking her tongue out a bit. “Yeah, I guess I’m selling stuff. I’m not entirely sure what you’d want with old Tri-droids. I’m just breaking things down for parts right now.”

“What about me selling things to you?” you ask.

“Oh, now, Rhys.” She holds up her hands. “I’m ain’t a Muun, sweetie, I ain’t made of money. I can’t buy things, it’s why I’m a scavvy.” She motions to your droids currently warding off some very desperate scavvers. “Now your droids though…”

“Back, back!” yells R5. R2 cowers behind R3 as they wield their weapons, trying to ward away the greedy and hungry scavvers looking to make a quick credit off of a functional astromech. “Back I say, you filthy hooligans!” R3 immediately slices on the chest with his buzzsaw, sending him to the ground in pain. The others immediately flee when it’s clear the droids are putting up a fight.

Jennis crosses her arms. “I don’t have much to sell I’m afraid, but I suppose I can give you a look around my wares if you want.”

“Oh really?” She smiles happily. “Well, alright, okay!” She grabs your wrist, leading you and your crew on to her ship which is landed nearby. “I declare, I managed to get some elements of an inventory together but unfortunately it er… it’s rather sparse.”

“How so?” you ask.

And when you get to her ship, you realize that it is rather sparse. “Yeah, this… this is basically it.” Only some scrap materials, some weapons, ammo, nothing ship related either. “I mean, it’s not much but hopefully it gets me through the next few weeks. Oh!” She snaps her fingers, quickly rifling through some junk. “Misri, I know you are just gonna love this!” She pulls out the wreck of a D-Wing droid. “It’s a D-Wing, now I know that-“

You hear a throat being cleared. You all look over to see another Hutt, backed up by some large Nikto enforcers. The hutt rubs his fingers, glaring at her. “… on second thought, er.” The enforcers quickly take the droid body away. “… That’s to pay for me losing at the fighting pits this morning,” she explains. Another enforcer carts away what looks to be one of the intact Vulture droid wrecks. “And that’s for losing at the races too.”

The hutt calls to her, rubbing his fingers again. “Jen!”

“Yeah, yeah, just take it,” she mutters. The last thing the Nikto take are several piles of scrap and the droid brain of one of the Tri-droids along with the laser cannons. With that, the hutt and his enforcers finally leave. “Yeah, erm. Sorry, they got here first.”

“I mean, I have money,” you say. “I could pay for-“

“Oh, goodness no!” she declares. “I couldn’t ask that. Seriously, I ain’t no damsel, Rhys. And I-…” She looks over at Whisper. “Who’s that?”

“New arrival,” says Kuvasz. “Whisper. She’s an Echani mercenary we picked up a day or two ago.”

“Awww, she is absolutely adorable!” declares Jennis as she walks over to her. Whisper looks away, clearly not enjoying the attention. “Aw, look at you, sweetie! I love ya cybernetics, they look so elegant and yet so functional! Can I touch them?”

Whisper grunts. “No.”

“… okay, darling.” Jennis slides back towards you. “Well, let me show you around what’s left.”

> Fighter sized hyperdrive – Jennis also claims this is from another old ARC-170. This hyperdrive is a Class 1.0 that can take anything anywhere. : 40,000

“I’ll just take everything,” you say.

“Oh, you will?” she says desperately. You nod. “Oh, thank ya, thank ya!” She immediately hugs you tight, you gently pat her on the back in return. “Oh, that’ll get me through the next few months, Rhys, I declare!”

“Seriously though, are you not getting business?” you ask.

“It’s hard being a scavver, okay?” She pulls away, frowning. “Especially a Zygerrian one, gosh, I don’t…” She pokes you in the chest, pouting a bit. “I don’t get on your nerves about what you do and where ya go, ya big palooka!”

You nod, then motion your crew to get everything lifted into your ship. “I’d love to be salvaging this stuff but I do have things to do. And I would like to spare some space in my craft in case I need to move a certain something.” She nods, understanding. “You know, Jennis. If you ever get sick of this scavving stuff, there’s always a place for you on my crew. I still have a spot open you know.”

“Ah, forget it!” she says. “I’d just get in the way, I’m no fighter and I ain’t got no darn eye for treasures like you do. Everything is junk to me.” Fair enough. “Besides…” She rubs her finger along your chest, biting her lip. “Good things in small doses, you know?”

> “No, I really should be going.”

“I would but, I gotta get going, Jennis.” She frowns deeply. “Aw, don’t give me that look.” You kiss her cheek, and she goes right back to giggling. “Next time, maybe, alright?”

“Alright, alright, you big-“ You gently nibble at her ear. “Ha! Ahaha! You-“ She slaps your shoulder, making you stop. She hurries to plant a kiss right on your lips, giving you a very coy smile. “You are the absolutely naughtiest man I know, and I love that. ‘Til next time, Rhys.” And with that, Jennis turns around and starts walking slowly back into her ship. Slowly enough for you to take in all the sights of her as she walks away.

Hm, makes you regret turning her down just a little. But it’s nothing you haven’t played with before you guess. As you start the trek back to your ship, Fearghus and his Kaleesh bodyguard stop you. “Rhys. My Kaleesh warriors, they-“

One of them presents a custom mask, in the shape of a nexu’s eternally smiling face, painted red with black and white stripes across it in the style of your R-22’s own paintjob. “We the Woad tribe recognize what you have done for us, and we present you this as a gift. You are welcome to live amongst our people any time, Rhys Cykgil.” You also see similar masks be handed to your crewmembers, who all have varying reactions. Kuvasz respectfully bows and accepts the gift. Misri is quick to put it on and play around with it. Vikker stuffs it in his bag and nods to them. Whisper simply stares at it, she probably doesn’t even know how significant this gift is.

You do though. You bow to the Kaleesh. “Thank you. You honor me with this mask.” Though, you wonder why they chose to render a nexu as the shape of it.

They nod as well. “You are recognized as Izvoshra, you are welcome among the Woad.” Fearghus smiles, bowing to you. You bow to him as well.

A fine gift you’d say.

So does anyone know where we should put the Shield Overcharger?

I'm thinking the H-Wing or the N-1 since both are sort of our heavy fighters.
>>
>>45539940
Misri's is painted black with yellow streaks across it, with no eye holes. It's more shaped like a purrgil's face.

Kuvasz's is given the classic Mandalorian T-visor with a bone white finish and black with the mask itself in the shape of a katarn's skull.

Vikker's is more wildly different, with four eye holes. His is painted yellow, with the devilish grin and mandibles of an Acklay.

And Whisper's is a krayt dragon, painted bone white with red stripes below the eyes, with the sides of a D-Wing droid's head forming the cheeks.
>>
>>45540151
That is really nice of them to do that. Might be useful too when we have to do honor duels and such, with Mandos or other tribe people.
>>
> Take stock of your crew. See if anyone needs anything or just wants to chat.

“Be ready to leave for Vahaba,” you say. “I’ll be right back.” He nods, ordering Roger and Wilco around to set the course in properly. You feel the rumble beneath your feet as your ship starts to take off now. First, you have to check in on everyone, make sure everyone’s alright.

In the galley, Kuvasz. He’s busy cooking up dinner for tonight. “Oh, hey, Rhys.” He’s out of his armor now, wearing only the heavy jumpsuit beneath it. He’s busy stirring some type of stew on the oven. “Don’t worry, I’m cooking something mild for our new Echani crewmember. I can imagine you’d want to welcome her with a good dinner meal rather than something truly of Mandalorian cuisine. Apparently it’s all too spicy for you.”

You shrug, stepping up and taking a quick spoonful of it. After a taste, you drop the spoon in the sink and hurry to douse your burning tongue in the sink. “That’s-“ You turn off the sink, coughing. “Kuvasz, that’s not mild at all! That’s still spicy!”

“Quit being a tooka,” he says. “This is mild. But…” He pulls out one of his spice bottles from his pack. “I guess I can throw in a little bit of this, maybe some herbs too.” He starts sprinkling some of the spice into the stew.

Alright, Kuvasz is fine. What about Vikker? You find Vikker already napping in the common room, where R5 and R3 are busy with a dejarik game. R5 has the edge on the overly aggressive R3 right now. Right, you guess Vikker is okay. He usually comes to you to complain about things anyway.

And Misri and Whisper?

[1/2]

“So…” You find Misri and Whisper in the machine shop. Whisper is currently practicing her punches while Misri sits by, wearing her mask. “Echani, eh?” Whisper nods to her, throwing another punch in the air.

“You don’t talk much, do you?” says Misri.

“I only talk when I feel speaking is necessary,” she says. “I am sorry if this may seem rude to you.”

“No, no, it’s okay!” Misri shakes her head, twiddling her fingers. “I mean, it’s been a while since I’ve got to talk with another girl. For the past few months, I’ve been the token girl on this ship. Not that that means anything of course, they’re all very respectable here, Kuvasz, Vik, and Rhys. It’s really the droids that ogle me more than they do, and Rhys I guess.”

“I’m right here you know,” you say from the door.

“Oh, I know,” says Misri. She picks up a clean towel from the rack and starts to the door. “I’m taking a shower now, while you’re busy. I wouldn’t want you peeking in on little ol’ me.” She smirks, walking past you. Well, you do have cameras on this ship, you don’t think she realizes that.

As for Whisper, she looks over at you, then continues punching the air, practicing with new and old arms.

She looks over, then nods. “Very well. Shall I-“ She grabs her robe.

They form around her figure quite well, but you can’t imagine having to fight in something as loose and heavy as those. You get on either side of the machine shop, then slowly assume your postures. “Right, whenever you’re ready.”

She nods. “Are you ready?”

“Ye-“ You’re immediately thrown onto your back. And before you can react, you’re thrown onto the ground. Your back and your ribs are screaming in pain as she stands over you. You didn’t even see her move! Damn, she’s fast. You hurry to stand up, and raise your fists. She stands in front of her, her fists raised as well. You punch nothing but air. Damn, she dodged. And she dodges again, and again.

When you punch for probably the tenth time or so, she grabs your arm, then throws you onto your back again. You roll over and push yourself back up quickly. No, you’re aren’t giving up, not until you can at least land a solid blow. You have to admit though, this is not the Echani style you’re familiar with. This feels more like a tiny Mandalorian is beating you the hell up! She jumps up to the side, then immediately jumps into a flip, then ends on your flank. Before you can react, she chops your gut and knocks you back.

Guess your reaction time in the Starfighter doesn’t translate to hand to hand.

Finally, she tackles you, sending you down to the ground once more. “Ugh…” This time, you rub your head, conceding. She stands over you, folding her hands behind her back. “… Mandalorian punches you’ve got.”

“You noticed?” she says. You nod. “When my caretakers noticed I had adopted some elements of Mandalorian fighting, they sent me to timeout.”

“Oh? You sat in a corner just for adapting?” you say as you stand up.

“… we have very different ideas of what timeout is,” she says. “But, thank you for noticing. You seem to be much smarter than I realized at first. Not many can distinguish between the two forms.”

“Well, I’ve read up on Echani before, you’re probably one of the first I’ve seen in person,” you say. “And I definitely have experience with Mandalorians.” Hands on experience. “Gotta ask, what’s with all the cybernetics? Were you in an accident?”

She shakes her head. “No.” Oh. Well. “Now, I hate to be rude. But er… I am used to practicing alone, so if you would…”

“Oh, I dunno, Whisper. You can always practice in my quarters if you want. I’ll let you disrobe in there, let you be flexible there too,” you say very smugly. Whisper stares up at you, not amused. “Come on, I’ve got reach, you’ve got flexibility. We can always hold a tiebreaker in there if you’re interested.”

“As flattering as your courting is, Captain Cykgil.” She folds her arms, looking down at the ground. “My body is not very desirable. I am sure you understand.” Wow, low self-esteem on this girl. You frown a bit, folding your arms as well.

“I do, I guess,” you say. “Though, if you’d let me at least try and land a solid blow on you.”

“Very well,” she says, standing stiff and stock still. “Come at me.” You smile, then try to punch her. Nothing but air. She’s stepped to the side. You try again. Again, dodged it. You try to sweep her leg, and she simply steps back. “You are telegraphing your movements, do you realize that?”

“What?” you ask.

“Before every attack, you are telegraphing your movements very clearly. When you mean to punch me, you cock your hand back, and your arm twitches as well. When you attempt to kick me, you brace your standing foot to hold your weight. And you try to dodge, you blink. These are all very subtle movements, I do not expect you to actually know that you are doing this. It is a matter of subconscious that is forcing you to telegraph,” she says. “As Echani tradition dictates, the first thing we train in is eliminating these actions, to make us harder to read in combat against others.”

“I see.” You hook your thumbs on your belt, nodding slowly. “Well, you can always feel free to teach me about it in my quarters.” She tilts her head, squinting her eye at you. “I’m not trying to come onto you that time, that’s a serious offer.”

“I may,” she says. “Another time. I wish to train-“ She dodges your punch. Damn it! “Nice try.”

Your ship exits hyperspace outside of the incredibly thick asteroid field of Vahaba. This site has been registered as hazardous. It’s mostly due to the exogorth growing in some of the asteroids, some asteroids colliding with each other, rumors about Starweirds inhabiting the asteroids too, and then there’s the pirates. You sit in the cockpit with Roger, Wilco, and Lev, staring out at the floating rocks of ore. “Sir, the asteroid metals are interfering with our sensors, if we venture into the asteroids, we will not be able to detect any incoming vessels attempting to ambush us.”

Ah yes, the old hazard of an asteroid field. Well, that and getting whacked by an asteroid.

Chances are if they are as powerful as advertised we'll want to be subtle and not go in guns blazing. So while it may be nice to have them available for helping us get out we probably shouldn't throw the gauntlet down and have them warp in with us.
>>

I think we shoud warp in together or at least have them warp within range of support if thing go FUBAR, like in Tule.

“The Vahaba asteroid field?” he says, as if trying to confirm what you just said. You nod to him as he is projected from your communications console. “We tried to clear out the miners there some time ago when they declared independence from Alderaanian influence. But unfortunately, they put up a very good fight. They know those asteroids better than anybody, and unfortunately fighting in them for us with our larger ships is a nightmare. If you intend to go in there, I will divert ISD Balmoral and ISD Admonitor to your location to support.”

“Well, if you say so,” you say. “But I think being subtle is the way to go for now. I don’t think Star Destroyers will last too long in there.”

“Fair.” He nods to you, deferring to your judgement. “If you are exploring, try not to get yourself killed. If you find anything of note, if you do find the Force Harvester, do not wait to contact me. I will want to know,” he states. “I will be in contact.”

You nod. “Thanks, Admiral.”

“One more thing, I must remind you the importance of the Force Harvester. If anybody has it, do not negotiate,” you say. “Kill them as a matter of practicality. I don’t want too many loose ends on this. It must be the Empire’s.” You nod again, fair enough. It’s not like pirates were your most favorite people anyway.

Your ship starts to slowly force its way into the asteroid field. And at that, your entire crew joins you in the cockpit. “Whisper, do you know this area?” you ask. Worth a shot really.

She shakes her head. “I am unfamiliar with this area.” Damn.

“There are so many asteroids,” says Misri. “W-… we’re not going to get hit are we?”

“Relax!” Dodger looks back at her. “We’re better than that-“ The ship shakes a little. You look to one of the consoles to see a smaller asteroid did strike the ship. You all glare at Dodger and Wilco. “… it was his fault,” Dodger says as he points to Wilco.

“Don’t drag me into this,” Wilco mutters.

You sigh. “Lev, do we have anything on scopes?”

“Sensors are being scrambled by the magnetic activity exuded from the larger asteroids, sir,” says Lev. “I am detecting life signs nearby however, very faint life signs. It appears to be a flock of purrgil.” Oh great, purrgil, as if you needed something else to crash into.

The Admonitor's already appeared a few times. It was originally supposed to explore the Unknown Regions, hence why it was one of the first on the scene with the RAS Bailiff treasure. Now, it's in Admiral Reike's proto-Death Squadron fleet.
>>
> “Take us into that flock. We can use those purrgil to mask our signature.”

“Take us into that flock of purrgil.” Everyone looks at you, surprised. “We’ll use their life signs to mask our signature. If anybody sees us, hopefully they’ll think we’re just another one of these purrgil.”

“Oh yeah, glowing engines and solid non-organic workframe,” says Vikker. “Definitely purrgil like.”

The Lion’s Share slowly brings itself into formation with the flock of twenty or so purrgil. Great big lumbering beasts they are, clumsy you hear too. Sometimes they wander into hyperspace lanes and crash ships. Other times they rub up against capital ships to clear themselves of space barnacles. “They’re beautiful,” says Misri. Her face is nearly up against the glass as you all take in the sight of the purrgil. They’re silent, but their tentacles flow as if through some imaginary breeze. Their eyes sometimes draw upon you, as if curious about what you are. But thankfully they don’t see to question it.

And hopefully, they’ll know how to navigate through an asteroid field better than Dodger and Wilco.

Lev draws closer to the sensor console. “Sir, our sensors are picking up a supermassive signature.”

“What is it, a planetoid?” you ask.

“No, it is more uniform in shape, it appears to be…” he says. He turns his head, then points to the window. You all look forward, and immediately feast your eyes on what exactly Lev is pointing at.

[1/2]
>>
>>45544936
[2/2]

Coming into view now, behind the horizon of a planetoid was a ship. It was almost like a shark in appearance, but it was gigantic. Bigger than any Imperial Star Destroyer you’ve seen. It resembled a Providence-class carrier mixed with a Recusant, and much more bigger to boot. You knew this ship, it was a Subjugator-class. But you only knew one to exist, the Malevolence. Considering that where the ion cannons would be are now replaced by what appear to be PCL-27 ships crudely attached to it, along with skeletal scaffolding creasing the top of the ship, it appears this must have been torn out of the shipyards during the Clone Wars.

Next to that ship was a smaller space station, buried into a large asteroid, with dozens of Y-8 Mining Vessels and smaller fighters and freighters coming to and from the bigger ship.

“What is that?” asks Kuvasz.

“It’s a ship,” you say. “A really big ship.”

“What do we do now?” asks Vikker, obviously wanting to leave.

>>
>>45544959

Report everything we saw then come back maybe we can damage something important.
>>
>>45545028
This i why we should probably try and cut them off. We know what's here now and will need back up.

We should try and act like a submarine and probably take this time to destroy the PCL-27 or the freighters supplying it with the Bartolz's Concussion missiles.

But we need to know when they can arrive so we can do the surprise attack.
>>
>>45545127
But if we leave the ship might escape, its better to stay where we are and use the two Star Destroyers to attack from the front and we attack from the rear while they are focused on the bigger ships.

I don't normally do this but I'm gonna be very candid with you. PCL 27 bulk freighters are A. attached to the big ship and B. are 800 meters long. Concussion missiles aren't going to do a whole lot of damage.
>>
>>45545206
aim for the engines or the bridge
>>
>>45545206
Well shit.....then all the more reasons we need the Star Destroyers. If anything we can use the time to attack the freighters and the mining station.
>>
>>45545226
Again, candid. Both are very redundant since they're attached to the big ship that has engines of its own.
>>
>>45545127
We can try and report via comms, so we can report their position and tell them what to expect and maybe how many fighters will intercept them.

We can use the time to help attack them from the rear and use the H-Wing and the N-1s Photon Torpedos to damage the engines or Bridge.
>>
>>45545269
Then we can aim for the bigger ship, wouldn't Photon Torpedos work since the H-Wing and N-1 have a lot of them?

You hurry to the comms console and quickly wire in on ISD Balmoral’s frequency. With all the metallic interference, things could be better in terms of transmission. Finally, her image appears on the holoprojector. “Rhys, good to see you. Is something wrong?”

“There’s a really big ship here, it’s a Subjugator-class,” you say. Her eyes go wide at the mention of it. “Plus, there’s a lot of miners here ferrying materials to and from the ship. I think they’re building something here. They might even have the Force Harvester here too. I’m going to need your help.”

She nods. “Alright, we’ll deploy squadrons to screen us first. But it’s not exactly going to be subtle. Star Destroyers aren’t great at going through asteroid fields.” That’s fine, she and the Admonitor are just going to be distractions while you try and find a hole in their defense. With the purrgil still masking your signature, you should be able to get relatively close enough to maybe board the space station. Though, that would be a bit too vulnerable. It’s probably more likely on the Subjugator.

Decisions, decisions.

“Sir.” Lev turns to you. “ISD Balmoral and ISD Admonitor are beginning their approach through the asteroid field.” And at that, you see several of the Y-8s turn away from their mining duties, now backed up by swarms of Vulture and Hyena bombers, along with piloted Z-95 Headhunters painted in dark yellow and white. “I will alert them of the incoming threat.”

“Alright, alright,” you say. “That means-“ Your sensor pings. “What’s that?”

“Sir, two of the Y-8s have diverted to chase us.” You look to see two Y-8 Mining Vessels closing in on you, backed up by a flight of four Dagger-class Starfighters. Uh oh.

> Evasive action
We could out fly them in a freighter, they won't be able to keep up without plastering themselves across the insides of their own cockpits.
>>
> Get to your fighter!

With a quick socketing of R5 into your R-22 and a hurry out of the hangar bay, you and your crew are already out into space. “Misri, these guys aren’t messing around. Daggers can move fast and can turn on a dime, so keep close to Sparks.”

“Alright!” she yells.

“Kuvasz, go for the Y-8s first,” you say. “We’ll cover you.”

“Got it,” he says.

Alright, time to dance. “Let ‘em pass between us.” The daggers all start barreling towards you, firing a flurry of laser bolts at you. You spin right and pass between their flight with little damage, as does Misri, and Sparks. Misri and Sparks break to the left. As for you, you break right and start to hurl yourself towards one of the Daggers. One of the things you’ve heard about Daggers is that they don’t have inertial dampeners, which means that the poor sod in there’s gonna get thrashed if you force him into a maneuver fight.

Which is precisely what you’re going to do. You tense your muscles up, then dive in over them. You spin right then dive down. Your blood tries crawling all over the place as you hurl yourself all over space. The Daggers try following after you, careful to avoid the little meteorites and asteroids around. Just two of them pursuing you.

Well, one. One of them just smacked himself silly into an asteroid and exploded.

The other however fires at you, plastering your shields with some grazing fire. “Sir, incoming asteroid.” Uh oh. You break left, dodging it. The Dagger behind you goes under it, then spins itself, firing an intense barrage of lasers. Whoever’s flying that thing is either not human or a droid! You look right to see the other two Daggers coming after you. Ah, nuts.

Suddenly, your comms console blares. “Sir, incoming message from ISD Balmoral.” Lotte appears in your lap, frantic.

“No, I’ll rally your TIE Fighters. Just stay with me,” you call.

“A-… Alright!” She nods.

You wheel around again, flying past the wreckage of the Y-8s that Kuvasz has destroyed. Misri and Sparks follow you as you close in on the larger battle going on nearby. The Admonitor appears to be taking some damage, but that’s not even getting into what’s happening to the ISD Balmoral. It’s aflame on the bow, and one of the shield generator towers is out. “This is ISD Admonitor, we are retreating!” The Admonitor starts turning around, and its TIE Fighter escort along with it.

And rather smartly, the fighters poking and prodding at it abandon Admonitor and start focusing their efforts on the Balmoral. “Aggh! Coward!” yells Lotte. “Squadrons, follow Rhys’ lead! Now!”

“Whose left?” you call over the Imperial channel.

“Nobody!” yells a TIE Pilot. “We’re getting slaughtered out here! There’s too many of th-“ His transmission immediately cuts out. Agh, damn it.

“To whoever’s left! I’m forcing a breakthrough!” you yell. “You have to get through now!” You blast and vaporize three Vulture droids in your path. But you watch in horror as several Y-8s tractor in an asteroid the size of a freighter and truck it at the Balmoral. It slams into the hull, and it bounces off. But not before ripping a giant crater into the ship.

“We just lost one of our main power generators!” yells Lotte. “I’m losing the ship, Rhys!”

“Just hang on,” you say. You slay another Vulture threatening the Balmoral. Misri and Sparks break off as well to try and draw away as many Vultures as they can, but there must be hundreds of them out here! A few TIE Fighters are rallying behind you, trying to break through the fighter screen. “We can win this.”

You look over to see the big Subjugator now lumbering into attack position. You gasp. You just remembered those things have a heck of a lot of guns. And all of them immediately begin barraging the Balmoral. The Balmoral starts firing on the Balmoral, shattering what shields and hull integrity it has left. “We’re getting hit! Everyone to the escape pods now!” yells Lotte. Her transmission cuts out as the Balmoral starts falling out of its flight path, smoke trailing from the engines.

Ah hell! “Lotte!” you yell. You see several escape pods escape the Balmoral. Hopefully Lotte’s among them. You see the Admonitor leave the asteroid field in the distance, then jump to hyperspace. Okay, maybe they’re going for help, fine, fine.

“There’s way too many fighters!” yells Misri.

Suddenly, your comms ping again. Coming on screen now is an OOM-Command droid. “Smuggler, I am a communications representative of General Nautilus. He requests that you surrender.”

“Like hell I am!” you yell.

“If not, we will fire on those escape pods,” he says.

You blink. Lotte could be on one of those pods. You turn to the Subjugator. There’s hundreds of turbolasers. Even if you wanted to destroy them before that happened, a lot of escape pods would be destroyed.

“Fine. You got me,” you say. “Everyone, disable your engines, put out a truce signal.”

“What?” Misri says confusedly. “But-“

“Do it,” you say. You disable engines and set your comms signal to send out a select signal, indicating you are no threat and have surrendered. You lean back in your seat, and see one Y-8 take you up in a tractor beam. The other Y-8s too catch the H-Wing, the N-1T, and Sparks as well, and start carting you off to the Subjugator. The Barloz as well is escorted to the ship by various Vultures and Tri-fighters.

They win today. You grip the controls tight, almost bending them in anger. You’re not taking this lying down.

-

-

“Hands up.” A pair of B1s point their E-5s at you. They’re not like the regular B1s you usually see. These ones appear to be much more tougher armored, and feature glowing photorecepters like the BX-series commandos.

> B1bis Droids <
> Upgraded B1 Droids <

You step out, reaching for the sky. A B2 Droid walks over and immediately starts throwing every weapon you have into your ship. Your pistols, your disruptor rifle, your sword, your energy shield belt, everything.

The same happens with the others, Kuvasz, Vikker, Misri, and Whisper. Your droids as well are escorted out of the Lion’s Share. All of your droids are put under restraining bolt. R3 has already been shut off, along with Sparks too. You’re marched towards an open area of the hangar, where many Vultures are busy undergoing retrofitting into their Elite forms. And they stop you in front of a large cargo door. There, they snap your wrists into restraining cuffs, all of you, even Lev as well.

And the door opens, revealing the Super Tactical Droid himself. With glowing yellow eyes, a black and white paint job, and what appears to be twenty or thirty masked and robed Echani mercenaries behind him, this was definitely the big cheese. He steps up to you all, up to Lev in particular. “TA-11.”

“Nautilus,” responds Lev coldly.

> General Nautilus <
> A General without a State <

“I see you have been ‘modernized’ to fight for a now corrupted government,” says Nautilus. “How old you have grown.”

“I see you are still fighting a war that ended almost twenty years ago,” Lev bites back.

And to that, Nautilus punches Lev in the gut. Lev grunts in monotone pain, doubling over. Nautilus then walks over to you. “Captain Rhys Cykgil. I have heard of you. Privateer. Archaeologist. Smuggler. Thief.”

You smirk. “What can I say, I’m popular.”

“Very,” Nautilus responds. “Your ships, your droids save for TA-11, and your weapons will remain here. And as promised, I have spared the escape pods. But they will now be my prisoners.” He leans in close. “I noticed the Captain and her XO were women. The miners I work with have not seen women of such fine breed in a very long while.” You gnash your teeth, seething. “It would be a shame if something were to happen to them. Same with your female crewmembers.” Misri bites her lip, looking down. Whisper as well bows her head, trying not to look recognizable to her Echani family.

“What’s your angle?” you ask.

“You may be useful yet,” he says. “Take them to their cells.” The B1 behind you nudges you with his blaster, motioning you forward. The Echani mercenaries part, allowing you to step into the red lit hallway.

So, taken prisoner.

Not the first time this has happened you guess.

That is it for tonight's thread of Star Wars: Fortune Hunter. Tomorrow will be another and probably the last triple feature I'll ever do for this Quest. Hope you all enjoyed, hope to see you tomorrow.

That sounds ominous.

Are you planning a new quest or are we this fucked?

No, I'm planning on running the GuP:LGA Sequel next week or so and honestly running triple features of this is more tiring than you think.

But we did fuck up pretty badly for ourselves didn't we. Honestly this might rank up with the Pivot turn from you WW1 Witch quest.

Rhys finds a way, he always does.

>>45549195
i'm so excited too anon but i will admit, I don't have as much planned as I should have. Guess I'll wing most of it like I did with LGA.

Don't bully, she's only a freshman. A freshman with huge tits but still.

Oh right, the set-up was for Trude's sister to take over the Tankery team.

Time to beeline for truest best girl of LGA, Clara Savage!

Well...

We are certainly in a pickle.

>I noticed the Captain and her XO were women. We are melting this droid down and using his parts to upgrade Lev.

So, clean up, any upgrades or repairs,

Faction Changes?

And where do our fancy new starship parts go?

Dodger and Wilco are conspicuously absent for a reason. You're not entirely sure where they are.

>>45549320
I have a policy of not answering questions like this so I'll leave this unanswered.

>>45549370
Griselda is gonna be an important NPC in the Quest. I decided to have the MC be a whole new character instead of Gris-Gris for the sake of starting fresh and not just making Gertrude 2.0 with Gris-Gris. I designed Elodie to be nearly the exact opposite of Gertrude even.

Also, you got good taste.

>>45549379
1. The power capacitor got fixed between hyperspace jumps.

2. No faction changes.

3. All of the fighter stuff except for the shield overcharger goes on Sparks. The overcharger goes on the R-22.
>>
>>45549461
>Dodger and Wilco are conspicuously absent for a reason. You're not entirely sure where they are.

Those sly droids, if they manage to save our bacon, We're going to have Misri give them a nice oil bath.

What will happen to our froids, will Sparks be sent for 'modification'? like the other Vulture Droids?

How many causalities?
>>
Did clone troopers fear the end of the clone wars as it was the even that gave their lives relevance? Or did they look forward to a time when they could stop seeing their brother die in droves?

Did we manage to keep the wrist grappiling hook?
>>
>>45549530
1. Your droids right now are going to become leverage against you if you try to escape and fail.

2. ISD Balmoral was lost. Only a few dozen crewmembers including Lotte and Luyties made it to the pods before the ship crumpled up under the fire of the Subjugator. All TIE Fighters were killed.

>>45549562
Well, there's a reason most Clones you meet are either drunken old men or so bitter at the world they can't enjoy it.

Most of the standard stuff from LGA. It's going to be set in the summer before Gertrude's senior year so some parts of the team from the original Quest have already graduated, which means their tanks are going to be claimed by the next generation.

I'm still debating mentally what the MC tank ought to be, but I'll probably decide on it within the week.

>>45549680
She's just happy to be here.
>>
As I assume that this quest will not actually go into Episode 4 territory, what would Rhys's reaction be to the destruction of Alderan?
>>
>>45549680
Well she had a better read of the situation and she trusted Rhys.

Still not sure what happened to the other Star destroyer. Where they just super outgunned? I thought the two were of a tonnage to handle the singular.

A Subjugator-class ship features over 500 Turbolaser turrets, is three times their size, and is so stupidly well-armored that its shield is more of an add-on than a necessary feature. If you want to know more, the Malevolence arc of TCW can really show how fucking powerful these ships are.

>>45549760
She's happy to be alive is what I mean. She can process the deaths of nearly her entire crew later.

Horrified, absolutely horrified. But if he's still with the Empire at that stage, he'd probably be too spineless to say anything about it.
>>
>>45549824
Then why on earth did they choose to engage it? Did they both just think "Rhys is on the level!" Or did we not tell them what it was so they ran right into the thing?

She's a Captain, so she'll have to get a new ship at any rate.
>>

True but her XO might overtake her, wasn't that the case?

Also why did they kill all the TIE pilots, weren't some of them were with us before we surrendered?

They were all killed in battle. I just failed to render that in writing.
>>
>>45550153
What is the difference between the COmmando Droid Arm and the Cybernetic Arm we bought?

Did we install it on Whisper?

Also are the B1bis Droids are basically B1 battle droids built like the Commando droids but still kind of dumb?
>>
>>45550187
1. I don't really render a difference. They're just arms.

2. No, not yet at least.

3. The B1bis droids are built with the same strong materials as the BX-series Commando droids along with new photoreceptors.

They're dumb, but they're also far smarter than the B1s were in the Clone Wars. They have the benefit of experience and not having been mindwiped for several years. Many of them realize how expendable they are, especially the ones that haven't received upgrades.
>>
>>45550223
Do we know why the Handmaiden Mercenaries follow this guy? Is it just for money or is there a more deeper connection?

There's various reasons, but it's mostly money. Whisper can probably enlighten you on it later.

How far do you intend for this quest to go anyway? Past episode 4? Episode 5? New Republic territory?

It's been gnawing at me for the past few threads.
>>
>>45550316
http://pastebin.com/HtBpMWfE

Here is the new pastebin.

Were you expecting this to go down this way?

This thread has me in a bit of suspense.

How are the survivor's feeling right now?
>>
>>45550432
I had honestly intended to end the Quest at a few points but I kept it going because ending it at those points didn't feel natural to me.

Though for now, I think the end of the Dark Reaper arc is where I will at least lay this Quest to rest until I want to run it again and if I can find a natural end point, perhaps after a sizable timeskip that brings Rhys past ANH and into the intervening three years before TES.

Besides New Republic is non-canon anyway and unfortunately post Episode VI content is handled by that faggot Chuck Wendig.

>>45550467
1. Won't comment.

2. Pretty bad.
>>
>>45550494
Though depending on what happens, why not during ANH, that seems to be a pretty big deal.
>>
>>45550494
Who is Chuck Wendig?
>>
>>45550535
ANH takes place over the course of, what, a few days? Leia's capture to the Battle of Yavin is not a long timeframe.
>>
>>45550535
I'm more interested in filling the gaps rather than having to work around events that are currently happening honestly. There's three years or so that can provide Rhys with a lot of adventure.

>>45550556
Writer of Star Wars Aftermath. Begged for the position on twitter. Wrote a shitty book, plans on writing two more shitty books, now writing the comic book novelization. Shitty SJW writer overall.

Anyway, with that, I'm heading to bed, so night y'all.

>>45550467

No need to expect anything. Our side got shit-stomped immediately, so it was probably more or less intended to play out this way.
