Welcome to Banished Quest!
You take the role of a young mage labeled a criminal by his people and cast out into the wider world. In the last thread a cat gave you a present.

It is currently the 28th of Svarthi, in the year 936 NH.

As much as it hurts your pride to admit, you wouldn't be able to make something like this. Not yet, and probably not for quite some time. Certainly not to as high a quality. {No, Zahak. I'm afraid I'm not yet capable of making something like this saddle, though perhaps one day that won't be the case. Rather, an...} How to describe your relationship with Mahana? You're not sure if you'd call him a friend necessarily, but you're certainly on good terms. {Well, an associate of mine created it for you on my request. You can think of it as a reward for your hard work today, though I'll also be giving you half of that ruby we pried out of the beast's mouth.}

You urge Zahak skyward, and with one powerful leap he carries both of you into the air. In this new saddle you don't feel nearly as at risk of falling to your death. Probably because you have actual stirrups now, rather than simply the the saddle horn to grip for all you're worth. Honestly, though you loathe to admit it the Rhynians had the right idea as far as saddles go. You're not sure why your people still insist on scorning the stirrup.

You wave to the three adventurers who's lives you briefly intruded upon, much to their benefit. They return the gesture. You can't help but wonder whether you'll encounter them again, but don't think it's particularly likely. The ruined temple quickly recedes with each steady beat of Zahak's wings, and soon the coast becomes faintly visible on the horizon. No doubt Zahak is better able to see it than you are, dragons seem naturally gifted with sharp eyes.

Once he's steadied you on a course towards Marqash, his thoughts once again mingle with yours. {Is that what you were doing in the hollowed out piece of the worm? Having this artifact made?}

Shrugging your shoulders, you allow yourself to relax into the raised back of the saddle. {Yes and no. My associate is a spirit, and likely one you're familair with. Have you ever seen a black, white, and orange cat stalking through the estate back in El-Amin? Has it perhaps ever spoken with you?}

Zahak transmits a vague sense of confirmation to you, after both questions, so you continue. {That cat is a manifestation of a spirit. Basically, a false representation of his true form more easily comprehensible to us mortals. His name is Mahana, and he was actually living at our estate long before you or I were ever born. He was living in the tunnels beneath the estate before the estate was even built, or the city for that matter. He's very wise, and a good source of information, but not the most reliable you understand. He has his own goals, and isn't above manipulating others for his own gain.}

You think that's a fair assessement of Mahana, perhaps even generous. {This is true of most spirits, that they are motivated primarily by self-interest and care little for the affairs of mortals unless they conflict or coincide with their own interest. Spirits can be fine allies, but they can also be fearsome enemies. They're also fickle creatures, and the line between ally and enemy can be thin indeed. I can only recommend that you deal with spirits carefully, and only when absolutely necessary.}

Zahak seems to puzzle over this for a time, his thoughts turning over the ideas you've introduced slowly and carefully. {So, where did spirits come from, if they're not like us? What makes us mortals and the cat a spirit?}
(2/5)

If you were being honest, you'd tell him you're not wholly certain of that yourself. However, you have some pretty good theories cobbled together based on what Mahana and others have told you already. {Zahak, the origin of spirits lies with the Gods themselves. The Gods are the creators of all that you see. They created this world, and the systems which ultimately led to both your birth and my own. They protect what we know as reality from intrusion by creatures which would see us destroyed, and they ensure that the cycle of death and rebirth continues unending.}

You don't want to get into the various dead gods and divine conflicts right now, that's a conversation for another time. {Spirits originated as creatures known as void entities, which are ultimately the distant descendants of the Gods. Thus, they are made from the same divine essence as the gods, where as you and I only have a shard of divine essence, our soul. Some of the void entities grew jealous of mortals, for the Gods have always favored us amongst their many creations, and some abandoned the void to enter the mortal realm. These creatures which fled the void would ultimately become spirits, though spirits today are quite unlike their ancestors.}

You think Zahak mostly understands, though there's still some confusion. {So, why would the cat make this saddle for me? Was it just because you asked? Is he your slave?}

If only that were the case, enslaving a spirit as powerful as Mahana would be an impressive feat indeed. {No, nothing of the sort. Rather, we have an agreement that I perform certain task for him, and he grants me certain favors in return. That strucutre I built from the carapace of the worm, it allows Mahana to draw power from the area. He, in turn, granted me the saddle as a sort of payment. I in turn gave it to you as a reward for all the hard work you've done lately.}

Zahak accepts this, approval and affection radiating from him as heat from a flame. Still, other matters call your attention. {I'd like to speak further, but Mahana also told me some disturbing news about Anthus, a city to the far north where I have friends. I need to speak with them, but it shouldn't take too long.}

Your son seems more interested in experimenting with his new saddle, manifesting softly glowing blue barriers both above and below you, as well as at various different angles around himself. He tries to touch one of the barriers with his tail when it's beneath him at an angle, but the closer his tail gets the further away the barrier shifts.

Allowing your focus to slip, you reach across the vast distance separating you from Demetrios, your thoughts brushing against his own. He seems worried, but not desperately so. {I've heard that the situation in Anthus has worsened since my departure. Just how bad has it gotten?}

At the sound of your voice his thoughts scatter, but they quickly reassemble themselves into something reminiscent of coherence. {Gods above and below, Mik. You scared the crap out of me. Isn't there some way for these brooches to warn a man before you go prodding their thoughts? I swear, you're even worse than Megalos!}

That will never cease to entertain you. {Honestly, Demetrios. You should be getting used to it by now. When I can I specifically choose to interrupt your thoughts at the most inconvenient possible time. I'd thought by doing so I'd force you to adapt, but I suppose I've been lax in my efforts recently.}

SECOND THREAD HYPE
>>
He's not really irritated, though he acts as though he is. {Well I can only hope that remains the case. I was enjoying the last two weeks of unmolested thought.} The conversation stalls, and when next your friend speaks he's decidedly more somber than before. {It's been getting worse by the day. The dragons have been torching any ship which gets within a mile of the harbor, and the fields which kept the city fed are little more than ash at this point. Our stores will last us another few months, or perhaps a year at most if we put the city on starvation rations tomorrow.}

You suppose the dragons seek revenge for their slain brethren, but you can't imagine why they'd try to starve the city rather than simply put it to the torch. That dragon you saw towering over Khmedi could probably manage it alone. {Do you think they plan to take over the city?}

Exhaustion filters through the connection. {At this point, I only wish I knew. Some think they plan to starve us all to death. Others think they're merely softening us up before butchering us all. Still, others claim they'd lift the siege if we'd only surrender ourselves to them. Though, you don't find many people claiming that openly. The Lords have ordered any sympathizers hanged from the walls. Personally, I don't think they're doing anything more than spread fear through the city's populace.}

{We've been doing what we can to supplement the city's stores. Much of the gardens and the grounds have been given over to farmland, nurtured by the Academy's Nature Vatis. I've heard the Archmagos plans on calling in the support of his allies abroad. The king of Agrealla, trapped in the city as he is, has promised his support and the support of his retinue. I've heard he's been trying to get a messenger out to other Rhynian pretenders as well, but I don't think any of his attempts have succeeded.}
(5/6)
>>
{The Lords of course are asking for the aid of Autokrator Vladan. What goes on in the halls of the Lords of Anthus is a mystery to me, but I can only hope they've been successful. Though I must admit, I do worry that by inviting that glorified warlord into the city, they may as well surrender our independence.}

It all sounds like quite the mess, really. You're surprised things have gotten so bad in just the two weeks since you've been gone. You're also glad you're not involved, you have enough on your plate as is.

Commander, research has unveiled significant enchantment opportunities!

Mind Inversion-Reversion Ring: Using the said array, we can tailor a ring to significantly boost a user’s metal magic or nature magic, or create a lightweight item that can boost both. Increasing bonuses beyond the initial array will result in an item that places some strain on Sanity however. At the same time, if combined with Boar Soul Tusk, we estimate the bonuses to Nature and Metal magic to be immense, at least 8, maybe more.

Suryan Firebrand: By using the Inversion-Reversion array on Fire, we’ve managed to uncover a way to create Plasma, the equivalent of Surya’s Vice energy and the Lightning magics of Fire Grandmasters! This energy is hard to create, but once it has been, it is exceeding easy to manipulate, such is its taste for destruction. Assuming of course, that there is a competent Fire Vatis to control it. If created with the Fireboar Tusk, we estimate even more powerful destructive potential.

Suryan Avatar: Current diagnostics via http://somaqm.tumblr.com/post/139134930142/so-going-off-post-38664336-we-only-have-the and http://somaqm.tumblr.com/post/139141537677/im-actually-more-interested-in-post-34740939 reveal that Darzi is capable of significant damage if she is able to attain a martial trance, including the ability to combine fire magic with her significant repertoire of combat maneuvers; this standard form is said to be a terrifying sight. However, she lacks the Nature capacity to do so. If Darzi is equipped with a Suryan FireBrand as well as the Inversion Ring, we predict she will have the ability to enter a martial trance of apocalyptic power, able to employ Master tier Combat maneuvers with GM tier fire magic in a meditation that can destroy a small army, with no loss in precise striking power due to the fine control allotted by meditation and her mastery over Marsala Ve.

We should let our father know about this once the chance arises. he can find a way to capitalize on this once the dragon thing gets resolved. importing food/materials to rebuild. Or just man power, and such.
We could also have Demetrios Set up/buy the bank of Anthus to take over for us while we're gone. And have one of Dad's associates/workers control it.

Once we finish up, We can take the shrine into the city and bring tons of food into the city in with us. And "buy" the bank and a shit ton of land. And slaves to leave under our families care in our name. Or something. Anyway you slice this we have to profit before this thing stabilizes.

I also had this idea for a fairly simple enchantment. It's basically a grenade.

The two enchantments on the object are just composite enchantments, so it should be fairly easy to actually finalize the enchantment (DC 35).

The way this object would work is that it would be a basic sphere of crystal or metal with the enchantment. The permanent enchantment would protect the object itself and aid in the violent expulsion of plasma.

The triggered enchantment would countain plasma in an area around the sphere while vys was channeled into it. We could safely trigger the object remotely by channeling with the hidden metamagic. This would cost at most 2 vys. When the channeling stopped, the containment would vanish. The result would be an enormous explosion.

I think that we could easily enchant this object with very little effort, since the necessary enchantments on it are so simple. It would allow use to create huge destruction very efficiently: only 2 vys to trigger from a distance an explosion that basically requires GM fire (or Master and even more vys) to create under normal circumstances.

It's hasn't had nearly enough time to spent on finish. Enemies are repetitive and boring. Fun to kill, but you get tired of seeing the same troopers, robots, and archons again and again. Psionic enemies were not developed to their full potential, Your soldiers all end up with predictable stats due to the consistent stat gain mechanic they introduced. You'll have solider preformers, but rarely will you get trick shotting snipers out of COD or a psychic that could mind control an ethereal.

We're going into the jungle. Wood is going to be a fucking joke to buy.
We can literally buy fucking a few tons of it, bring it back. Sell some to our family not for money but for now a permanent % of the profits on our ships. Since they could double their ships if not increase it buy more.
Sell the rest and invest it into our family and Skullkid. A mother fucking money making machine.
Also buy several gadgets we come across once we hit the technology civilization that doesn't like magic. For skull kid to help him advance faster. Possibly also throw in Create vys into skullkid to give him the ability to try and master metal.

<~Soma_QM> You'd likely want to make sure Darzi reached Legendary first, and you'd want her to be in her armor. Maybe up her Fire Magic to Master level first, if not Grandmaster. But yeah, she could become a whirlwind of death very easily. Especially since the armor makes her nearly invincible.
[21:51] <~Soma_QM> I imagine since Fire Magic also controls illusions, and since mortals can tap into something of the divine when they reach the deepest depths of a meditative trance, she'd also start to appear to take on aspects of Surya as she fought.
[21:52] <~Soma_QM> So, head replaced by a flaming maw. Arms sprouting off of her left and right striking at opponents in every direction, becoming a formless mass of fire one moment and a four-armed monstrosity the next.
[21:53] <~Soma_QM> The aspect of psychological warfare would probably end up being just as valuable as the sheer physical might.

They really don't have any good options, but you can think of at least one they don't seem to have considered as of yet. {What about trying to speak with the dragons? I understand there's a language barrier, but they're obviously intelligent. I managed to communicate with one essentially by accident when I was sailing into the city's port last time.}

You neglect to mention that you're also raising a dragon as your son. Not for any particular reason, it's just not a conversation you want to have right now. When you were last in Anthus you were still trying to keep Zahak a secret. You've since decided that's more trouble than it's worth, but considering the trouble dragons have been causing Anthus lately it's probably best to just leave Demetrios in the dark.

His response comes tinged with annoyance. {We've tried, though they haven't exactly been forthcoming. As you've said, there's a language barrier. We think a sufficiently skilled Nature Vatis would be able to understand meaning without understanding the words, but we haven't had the opportunity to test out this theory as of yet. Grandmasters aren't exactly common, and the Archmagos has been reluctant to take to the walls himself. As you've said, they're clearly intelligent. They're just quite alien when compared to say, humans. We need to find someone capable of communicating with them.}

Your thoughts turn to the girl you rescued from near death at the hands of a pack of corrupted dragons. {How has Aylin been adjusting to the Academy? I assume life isn't totally grinding to a halt under the threat of draconic invasion.}

(1/2)
>>
Some of the levity returns, though you can still tell he's absolutley exhausted. His thoughts are slow, and sluggish. They often seem indistinct, only resolving themselves into language after several second's delay. {She is adjusting well to the Academy, I'd say. There were some initial disciplinary problems, she was fighting with some of the other girls. Some of the boys as well. Fortunately these issues seem to have resolved themselves, I think most of the other students are a bit scared of her.}

Amusement drifts through the connection, brief snatches of memory rising to the surface. {You know, I don't think most of the students here have ever really been in a fight. Sure they'll spar one another or they'll get in the occaisional scuffle, but they haven't been trained. Not like that girl. You should have seen the expression on one of our upperclassman's face when he tried to scare her a bit with a bolt of fire and she broke his nose. You would have thought she'd stabbed him. I've never seen a grown man bawl their eyes out like that.}

You don't know if you like the idea of her fighting the other students, though you suppose it's good that she's not falling in with that crowd of girls that were trying to get her to steal from Hayes' workshop. {I hope her relations with the other students are not purely adversarial. She has friends too, doesn't she?}

Demetrios focuses once more, thoughts becoming slightly more distinct. {Oh, of course! She's gathered quite the little social circle, I'd say. Some of the younger students look to her as some kind of vigilante, and if nothing else she's earned the respect of a certain crowd. I do try to keep her out of trouble but I'm only one man, and a committed bachelor at that. I'm not exactly the best with children.}

Well, you suppose it's good to hear that she's not miserable, and seems to be carving out a niche for herself. You're about to ask after her studies, but Demetrios interrupts. {You know, that reminds me actually. Aisha's been nagging me for quite a while to let her speak with you. I promised her the next time you called I'd let her. Of course, I might conveniently forget this conversation ever happened...}

If Mik creates the Invert+Revert+Mind ring we discussed in the last thread, and makes it out of boar tusk, he'll already have the nature magic aspect down Anon. That's an 8-10 nature magic bonus, with his vatis bonus. GM Nature ability right there. However, since he's only a practitioner, he'll have to train 9-10 times to get to a high enough rank. This is why I selected Darzi for the Avatar project. She actually have the time to train. We've got better shit to do, like magic and enchantment.
>>
>>45549222

Unfortunately commander, Martial Trance relies on Marsala Ve, which is based on fire magic forms of the Suryan Priesthood. This is how Fire magic can be combined with fire magic in the Martial Trance, and how aspects of Surya can be tapped into by an Avatar. Pani has no such martial practices nor affinity.

>>34740939
>You shake your head, briefly. “I'll need to know more about the technique and the work itself before I agree.” She frowns, slightly. “Fine. Essentially the method involves shifting through all of the basic forms of Marsala Ve. I found it difficult at first to perform without a spear on hand, as many of the forms are reliant on the spear. I've been trying to turn it into some sort of 'battle trance' but I haven't managed to perfect the method yet. I find that it's particularly useful if you're trying to learn fire magic, likely because the forms of Marsala Ve are so closely tied to the ancient orders of warrior-priest dedicated to Surya. That said, it's just as useful as normal meditation for any of the other elements.”
>>
>>45547734
All this shit needs a timer or a stop function so it doesn't just go on forever.
>>
>>45549498
>>45549427
Err, I meant,
>This is how Fire magic can be combined with Combat Manuevers, how the trance is boosted by the Avatar's competence in Marsala Ve, and how aspects of Surya can be tapped into by an Avatar.
>>
>>45549498
What if we invented a martial trance of our own?
>>
>>45549499
>needs a timer or a stop function so it doesn't just go on forever
Nah that'd add to the DC.
>>
>>45549545
This is a very unlikely project commander. Not only does our form have to be deeply in tune with aspects of Pani, Mikhael lacks any practical knowledge of martial combat beyond his limited training. He has neither the religious knowledge, attunement with Pani, or martial ability to develop a powerful combat form, deeply in tune in Pani, that can be employed in a state of meditative martial trance.
>>
>>45549593
The simple answer is to find a new martial art that resonates with water or metal.
>>
>>45549593
What about a trance that improves only our magic skills?
>>
>>45549683
Unlikely. Martial trances rely too heavily on our martial ability.
>>
I do distinctly remember Soma talking about water magic being mentioned in some sort of trance based fighting style. Probably created alongside marsla ve by worshipers of Pani during the time of the Empire.
>>
I ahve returned, and am writing.
>>
>>45549812

>>

>>
>>45549980
Nope. People were too busy going for the shiny soul magic.
>>
>>45549980
Damn. What going Dhatu Avatar mode even do? Would you become completely impervious to all harm soulwise, magic wise, and physically? Control the minds of all who come near?
>>
>>45549980
You'd need to do a training session involving the forms you saw in the book, at which point I'd probably give you a new martial style.
>>
>>45550040
Hnnnnnnng. We need to create a team of Avatars. We're Dhatu. Darzi is Surya. Chryssa is Prthvi (worst god for worst girl). Mortia will probably be some weird Rhynian Avatar. I dunno what the fuck Prof can Avatar.
>>
>>45550040
So we missed out on combat bonuses and a new martial art.
>>

>>
>>45550040

>>
>>45550111
Fuuuuuuuck. If Mik does become a Dhutuan Avatar and if we wake him up, he's definitely making us the steward of whatever harebrained people's cooking up. It'll probably be something stupid like sentient robots.
>>
>>45550150
You mean like how a GM can use multiple elements? Very likely.
>>
>>45550111
>>45550093
>>45550089
The basis behind the enchantment wouldn't still apply. The name is purely for asthetics.

To create "other typed avatars" we basically need to find/create and enchantment combination that:
A: Synergizes with the Inversion Rings (Expanded mind, +8-12 bonus metal and nature rolls)
B: Fits the Dhatu styled martial arts. Preferably in a way that allows us to take advantage of an unending font of power, like is created by the Suryan firebrands.
>>
>>45550156
>something stupid like sentient robots.
>not wanting to stand on top of a leviathan harvester terminator at the head of an army of other harvesters

we need to have a word or two, son
>>
>>45550111
>Would a Dhatuan Avatar be able to wake the god up
Probably not desu.

What we should do is start killing a lot of people and then using Attract+Soul and Contain+Soul on an item to gather their essence, then feed that to Dhatu.
>>
>>45550198
So this is it then. The state beyond Grandmaster. Avatarhood. Embodying the god of your element itself.

Rhynian Martial Training: Trainee Rank (+1 to Short Swords and Blocking.) (0/1 insight)
Using the shield we would be better at. If we just get this one training.

Marsala Ve: Veteran Rank (+6 to Spear and Hand to Hand combat. +4 to Long Swords and Daggers, +2 to Bows and Short Swords) (3/4 insights)
We should do this first, and stop at master for a while. Better at handling the spear.

>>45550232
Why..

Anyway, I do say we should learn Dhatu's martial arts, derived from what I can only assume is directly from a god or from a very devote follow who gleaned some martial arts directly or indirectly from a god.
We may meet a master of such in the jungle. If we meet a legend of Dhatu's martial arts that doesn't want to kill us, We should do a free sessions with him.
Since by then, with master and hopefully by then a basic understanding of the art. We could likely rank of fast since we're also should be fit enough to handle most movements and strength and precision of the shit we will learn.

>>
>>45550486
Put in that we'll practice the battle trance with all of the elements first, then go on to teach them all that would be their affinity.

If Dhatu refuses to wake up for anything, I wonder whether he'd sleep through a sneaky sneaky Samjan comin up on him and siphoning out his divine essence all slow like over the course of a few thousand years and incorporating it into himself.

If we got the runes for a the nutrients we need it'd be really simple to make an object that generates just enough food to keep us fed and then implant it in our stomach. Or just go with the design philosophy of seemingly every enchanter ever and make it a tummy belt with a bigass needle on it that can poke through our front and inject it so we can take it off and not have to worry about surgery every time we want to mess with the thing.

The cloak storage is vast but we can still only keep a finite amount of food in it. Storing the amount of food needed to sustain Mik over the course of a several thousand year void excursion would be enormous, especially since we're limited to things that won't spoil, and the act of eating the food itself would represent a massive time sink over the course of such a lengthy project in comparison to automatically being fed by an enchanted device.

>Not making a pair of Destroy+Shit underpants
Honestly we have no reason to not make those right now.
Bonus: We subtly let someone find out about our shit-destroying underpants and then later on tell them we have a spare pair. Give the fake enchanted underpants to this person and cackle madly over the knowledge that we tricked some fucker into shitting his pants.

You sigh, though Demetrios can't hear it. Do you really want to deal with this right now? You've still got a few hours until you reach the city of Marqash, though the sun has started its long descent towards the horizon. Still, you've neglected her for two weeks now and you doubt she'll be particularly happy with you.

After a few more moments of hesitation, you reach your decision. Better to get it over with now than let it stew any longer than this. {It's fine, I think it's probably time that I deal with this. Whatever this entails, I suppose.} You can't imagine what's so vital that she just has to speak with you. {Hand over the brooch and I'll speak with her.}

The connection is severed, and you find yourself once more fully aware of your surroundings. The air has cooled somewhat over the course of your conversation with Demetrios, but Zahak still coasts easily upon the currents of warm air. To your right, an endless expanse of blue stretches out towards the horizon, while to your left the desert is interrupted by patches of verdant green or the blocky rooftops of a village. Fruit groves and fishing villages seem to populate this part of the coast.

Seconds turn to minutes, and minutes turn to hours as you wait for the brooch to once again interrupt your thoughts. You find yourself dozing off, your head resting against the empty pack strapped to Zahak's saddle. You notice something odd as you balance on that thin dividing line between wakefulness and sleep. Light and color play across your mind's eye, brief snatches of dream flaring into being only to die the very next moment. Yet there's a pattern to it all. The color, it corresponds to vys. Each burst of color illuminates Zahak in an array of colors, and the cities below appear as smears upon the horizon.

Oh thank god you're back.
>>
Before you have any real opportunity to investigate this phenomena, a voice intrudes upon your thoughts. Aisha, your Anthosian mistress, finally deigns to speak with you. {Mikhael? Gods, but this is strange. Do I really just think and trust you'll hear me?}

You interrupt her before her rambling can carry her any further down that chain of thought. It seems like everyone has a little trouble wrapping their head around the idea of the brooches the first time they use them. {It's really that simple. Truly, can you believe the conveniences we've learned to live without since the death of our ancient predecessors?}

Her thoughts recoil, and only slowly do they reach out once more to mingle with yours. She's nervous, but happy. She's also very annoyed. {Do you know how long I've been trying to contact you? Two weeks! Demetrios has been redirecting me at every turn. Have you been using him to ignore me?}

Well, it's a fair question. {Not really, no. I've just sort of been caught up in the various trials and tribulations of life in Pidjata.} You feel like you've been telling this story a lot today. {I apologize for neglecting to reach out to you, but I've been making my way slowly towards Elaudia. As is usually the case I can't seem to make it a hundred feet without getting side tracked by some vast crisis which demands my attention. Even now, I'm heading south to rescue my kidnapped niece.}

Annoyance rapidly turns to worry. {Who kidnapped your niece? I would have thought a family like the Abdul-Hakims above the petty squabbles of wider nobility. Before my banishment yours was among the most powerful and wealthy families in the Shahdom, it would seem foolish to provoke you with something petty like kidnapping.}
(2/3)

>I would have thought a family like the Abdul-Hakims above the petty squabbles of wider nobility. Before my banishment yours was among the most powerful and wealthy families in the Shahdom, it would seem foolish to provoke you with something petty like kidnapping
>Before my banishment yours was among the most powerful and wealthy families in the Shahdom
Wasn't she banished 20-30 years ago?
When our family was mid-tier merchants?
>>
She raises a good point, your father probably could have just brought news of the kidnapping to the Shah and had it taken care of, though Kadir might not be quite so fond of your family as the previous Shah. {I think my banishment may have hurt our reputation to an extent. Still, it's not something you need to concern yourself with. I've worked out a plan with my father that should resolve the issue quite satisfactorily.}

Her thoughts calm, only to start churning again a moment later. Anxiety builds, until finally she forces herself to speak. {So, I have some bad news. I assume Demetrios already told you about the siege, but this is of a bit more personal nature. I worry that, well... Pani may have seen fit to bless our union. I haven't bled in nearly a month now. I mean, that's not terribly odd but I thought to tell you. Just in case.}

You can tell even with your rather cursory understanding of Nature Magic that she's nervous, incredibly so. You can't say this revelation is wholly unexpected, but you still find it somewhat unsettling.

>Don't they have alchemist in Anthus? Have them brew something up, even if you're not yet certain.

not that guy, but from the way Soma has depicted Samjan society it doesn't really seem like a "magic strong vs magic weak" society overall

like, yeah, Vatis and their ability are central to the culture, but the non-magically inclined are just as important in their own way. Merchants merch, craftsmen make shit, farmers grow and harvest food, etc. Vatis have the ability to enhance all of the other shit in various ways, but both sides are irreplaceable.

Rather than Vatis should rule non-Vatis or non-Vatis should rule the Vatis, it seems more like they should have equal roles. Vatis are tank / DPS, non-Vatis are support, etc.

You suppress the initial urge to panic, reasoning that all your children are going to be bastards anyway. The fact Aisha may simply be the mother of your second is nothing to panic about. {Well, I suppose if you're not yet certain we shouldn't worry ourselves to death over it. That being said, if it does turn out that Pani blessed us then I'll adopt the child into my household. A sibling would be good for Zahak.}

There's a pause before Aisha responds, her thoughts muddled by a wide variety of emotions. Mostly curiosity, though you can detect perhaps a hint of jealousy. {Wait, you already have a child? When did this happen? I don't recall you ever mentioning a child.}

What's the harm in leading her on for a while? {Didn't I tell you? He's adopted, but I've raised him as if he were my own blood. I found him abandoned in an old mine quite some time before the two of us met.}

She relaxes, thoughts growing still. {Oh, that makes more sense. I mean, you're barely out of your apprenticeship. I've known apprentices who ended up with child before they earned their robes, but it's not exactly a common occurrence. What made you decided to adopt one of the clanless, then?}

It's difficult but you manage to suppress your amusement at her expense. Hopefully it doesn't filter through the connection {Well I couldn't bring myself to leave him there, if I hadn't stepped in he probably would've sat there forgotten in that forsaken ruin until he finally met his end. Sure Zahak doesn't exactly look like most other Samjan. I mean the enormous wings are a bit odd and the scales set him apart, but I love him all the same.}

Now she's annoyed, and perhaps disappointed as well. {Mik I'm trying to be serious, I've been worrying myself sick over this all week.}

(1/2)
>>
>>45552166
He did make man equal.
>>
Adopting a more somber tone, you focus on conveying a sense of your sincerity. {I'm being serious. I found a dragon egg in an ancient mine, put in the time and effort to hatch that egg, and now I have a draconic son whom I wouldn't trade for the world. In fact I'm riding on his back right now to reach Marqash, where I plan on parading through the city to rescue my niece with all the pomp and circumstance of the Shah himself paying a visit to his vassal.}

It slowly sinks in that you're not lying. Panic turns to calm acceptance, and then to defeated resignation. {Gods above, I've slept with a madman. If we have this kid we'll both be insane within five years' time.}

anon everyone in red squadron but luke and wedge die

we want to be rogue squadron, feared throughout the known world, with a veritable slew of merchandising and an okay game and various tie ins

Everyone but Mik and Zahak will die

ugh I want tachikoma spider tanks/spider golems that are the hybridization of SK's knowledge and engineering + Mik's enchanting golem fuckery so bad

we could ride them, use them as storage and material transport, have them be cover, and they could have modular weaponry along the lines of >>45547673 to make them suitable for paralyzing/capturing things, stealth/invis shit, or even just support artillery

i know it will never happen

Pani H. Christ. You post one simple, plausible thing to do and the next thing you know a bunch of retarded children crowd you with their edgy overcomplicated tasteless bullshit ideas. No wonder all the decent ideas get drowned out in this quest

The resolution with the Entity was just Soma throwing a convenient asspull solution at us so he doesn't have to write a Pa'vala arc after Elaudia. We essentially did fuck-all while Best Hivemind and Worst Girl saved our ass (and the rest of the continent).

I made a comic, but it's awful.

You poor, poor cunt. What navy will not be terrified of a country whose ships are the slaughtered beasts which have terrorised their cities and people?
Think of those degenerate elves when they see we've assfucked their creators.
It's psychological warfare, not retarded.

I feel like some kind of idiot. I tracked down the pastebin link to the Fulvia smut in the archives but the bloody thing won't work.

We can create illusory dragons flying overhead to achieve a better effect. A moment's hesitation across the enemy lines. In a battle, this spells death.

Now compare that to having to hunt down and slay a dozen dragons, learn fleshcrafting, spend weeks learning shipwrighting and doing the actual work for your far-fetched ideas of psychological warfare, and then add the possibility of it ending up not being able to float, and how cringe-inducingly edgy and barbaric it would all look...

Maybe now you'll understand why I'm perplexed by the idea of you having enough brain cells to provide you with the motor skills to type when the content of your post suggests you don't even have two neurons to rub together.

you have cocks as fingers, that's how gay that was
>Now compare that to having to hunt down and slay a dozen dragons
Hunting down dragons would be easy, get Zahak to mentally scream to them to help him.
I'm sure there are more ways, like telling them you killed their dad.
>learn fleshcrafting
Learning fleshcrafting will benefit us and is already planned on.
>spend weeks learning shipwrighting
Why the fuck would you need to learn to make ships? Enchant it to float.
>and how cringe-inducingly edgy and barbaric it would all look
Nigger. Elves.
>...
Oh, I see.

Stopped reading there, you pretentious faggot. Pretending to be smart on the internet doesn't get you points, especially on an anonymous image board.
