As you rise from your bed, the morning sun blocked out nearly completely by your thick curtains, you hear a knock at your chamber door. You give permission to enter, and three minions show themselves in. They wordlessly assist you in donning your armor as taught by Duncan, cutting your normal dressing time down by half. Once they're done, one of them reads out your agenda for the day.

"First, a morning meeting to discuss the dissenters popping up in town. Then, a brunch meeting with the local merchant guild. Finally, your court date in the Ninth Ring Circuit Court."

Today will be the day you bring Vanessa home, but first things first.

You excuse the minions and make your way to the conference room dimension, where Duncan, Shen, and Marigold are already waiting. They stand and bow as you enter, and wait until you sit to do so themselves. Duncan is the first to speak.

"We continue to face rebellious individuals seeking to stir up the masses. Some of them are only seeking wealth and prestige, but a handful seem to have real ambition. We've noticed that most of them are adventurers from other lands, who have not witnessed your strength firsthand and therefore do not understand what they face. So far they've had little luck truly gathering followers, but it's becoming troublesome either way. We'd like to know your proposed course of action."

We go to wherever most of these adventurers are gathered, look who's the strongest of them, literally tear him limb from limb, leave him there to die and demonstrate to everyone we're not to be fucked with.

After that we do something flashy, like melting everyone's eyes out or throwing a child into the sun whatever. That should stop adventurers from trying their luck ever again.

You tell Duncan to keep tabs on anyone who speaks up, and to make plucking one of them a part of your daily routine. He writes it down, and assures you he will have your information network begin on tracking them post haste.

Shen speaks next, without waiting for Duncan to pass the conversation to him.

"The minions are growing restless, as am I. They've been waiting for an attack that frankly might not be coming, and they're tense. They'd like leave to enjoy themselves, which would be fine, but I can hear them whispering as I train. They plan to commit debauchery in the local fishing village."

Shen nods, and says no more. You turn to Marigold next.

"Our men have become quite adept at the shortspear and buckler, but as you know that does not make a true fighting force. With your permission, I'd like to order some new weapons and begin drilling them on more combat formations. I've got some recommendations."

You tell Marigold to focus on archery, and once the minions have grasped that, to transition into horseback combat. She seems quite pleased by this decision, and promises to order the training equipment immediately.

You finish up the rest of the mundane topics for the meeting, and wrap it up just before noon. If you keep to your schedule, you'll need to meet with a bunch of angry merchants about how to improve income. You already know they'll ask for open borders, but doing so will only invite more dissent, as most neighboring rulers refuse to trade with you still.

You teleport yourself into the city hall. The merchants awaiting your arrival bow, but you sense no sincerity. You all sit, and they begin bombarding you with incessant questions about this and that change to the laws, all seeking to further their own private agendas. You answer them as they come, caring little for their benefit and focusing on what you believe to be best for the territory as a whole.

When at last you come to an interesting topic, your eyes roll down from the ceiling of the meeting room to the circle of overly powdered men around you.

"Dark lord, we ask that you consider, er, incorporating a nearby mining operation. The ore they have access too would be good for all."

You think on it a moment. If you recall correctly, it's merely an iron mine. Controlling this source would put you at odds with the kingdom that owns it now, but would afford you the ability to create sturdier armor and weapons for your own troops.

With everything else finally out of the way, the time has come to attend your hearing. You thought you'd be ready for it, but you can't help being slightly nervous. You return to the fortress to see that things are left in order.

As you prepare to leave, Duncan and the others stop you, asking if you're sure you should go into this dangerous situation alone. It may be a good idea to bring someone along.

You agree, and tell Duncan to prepare himself. You notice both Shen and Marigold seem disappointed by the missed opportunity, but say nothing of it.

Duncan armors himself and prepares a few things before returning to you, and the two of you step through the rift you open, together. For a brief moment you traverse the aether, a place of nothingness between realms, but just as soon as you arrive you are through, and you step forward into hell itself.

Hell really isn't all that bad once you're used to it. The endless screams and burning earth are a bit bothersome, but the local nightlife is quite booming. Duncan takes a moment to adjust to the heavy air, intense heat, and desire to claw his eyes out with his own fingers and eat them, then seems more or less fine.

You make your way into the courthouse and your assigned room, where you enter and behold a small, rather intimate setting. No doubt Vanessa's mother wishes to make this quick.

You take your seat along with Duncan, and look around. The jury box is empty for now, as is the judge's stand. The only other person here is the bailiff, a three meter tall, musclebound behemoth with three horns and a flaming whip. you wave, and he waves back.

Soon enough, people begin filing in. First the jury, then Vanessa's mother, and finally the judge. The judge in this case is an imp wearing a powdered wig. Just like your bitch of an ex-wife to hand pick the least confident creature in the underworld.

You are stern with her. A sly smile appears on her face as her eyes finally rise to meet yours. The red light is like a laser pointer in your eyes, but you stand firm.

"Well, we'll just see about that." As she speaks, the courtroom doors burst open, drawing all eyes to the back of the room. Through them strides a tall, matronly woman with golden hair and a suit of half-plate that shines silver under a white tabard. Her long, confident strides as she ties her hair into a neat bun are quite reassuring, especially when she comes to a hip-cocked stop in front of you and turns to Vanessa's mother.

"Yes, we will." The woman turns to you and offers her hand, which you shake. "Afternoon, Janet Blanc, Attorney at Law. Sorry I'm late, I was waiting for a dramatic entrance opportunity. I've looked over your case and chosen some key witnesses that I-"

"Excuse me?" You turn to see Vanessa's mother standing, looking annoyed. "We were in the middle of an emasculating conversation." She crosses her arms and turns her burning gaze on Janet. Janet's only response is to calmly reach into her briefcase and produce a leather case, which she opens to reveal a golden holy symbol. The light that shines from it burns the eyes of just about everyone in the room, and forces you to look away.

"I'm this man's representation in this case, please allow me to speak to him, or I'll have you held in contempt." You don't think she can actually do that, but you're too busy shielding your face to say much.

Janet puts the symbol away and leads you back to the table where Duncan helplessly feels around with his eyes shut tight. You sit between them, and she begins going over the points you'll need to make.

You listen carefully to Janet's plan.

"First, we need to establish that her mother would be a poor caretaker. If there's anything you can use against her, that's where we would start. Second, we need to show you in a positive light, so that the jury will see you as the better option. Finally, we hammer it home with a touching reunion in front of the jury. If we can do all that, I think this is as good as in the bag." You agree, with the only snag being Vanessa's inability to leave her mother's house. You don't have any way to free her without leaving the room, either. But perhaps there is an option.

Ok, this is a Jury from here, so, positive light might not be the best. What you need to do is make me look like a more fit parent. I allow her some freedom, she gets to flex her wings and practice her gained skills of her blood and education.

In the hall, you open a connection to the mortal plane, where your old pal Ray, who answers cheerfully. You ask him if he still remembers where the old house is, and he does. You ask him if he wouldn't mind breaking in, and kidnapping your daughter for you, and though he seems reluctant, once you explain the reason he agrees. You thank him, and end the connection before reentering the court.

Things have already begun, as your ex-wife and lawyer make their opening statements. You sit down just as they finish, and the judge asks for your first witness. You think about Janet's plan, and try to pick someone who will discredit your ex-wife.

You call Duncan to the stand. He vanishes in a puff of smoke from your side, and reappears on the witness stand, ready to speak. Your ex-wife approaches him, clearly trying to charm him, but alas he's about as straight as a question mark, and so her natural gifts do nothing to sway him.

"I've known Vanessa for some years now. She never stops going on about her father, but when she does talk about her mother, and mind you it's only after a few drinks, she has nothing good to say. Overbearing, paranoid, promiscuous, over-strict, and suffocating are the nicest words I can recall her ever using in reference to her own mother."

The sweating demon queen tries to object, but the judge can't think of a reason to sustain it, and Duncan is let off of the stand. You silently thank fate for the boys predisposition for penis.

Next, you must call a witness to show yourself as a better caretaker. Calling Duncan again would make you look weak, so it's best to use someone else.

You call Marigold. There is a loud pop, and suddenly the stand is filled with a ginger haired woman, sweaty and holding a training spear. She is quite shocked to be in an entirely new place without warning, but when she sees you and Duncan sitting across from her, she seems to calm down. Janet stands, and begins examining her.

"Well, I personally appreciate his brand of tough love. When we step out of line, he usually just whips us or brands us. Once he had a guy hung upside down while rats nibbled at his head. The worst he's ever done to Vanessa is scold her though. And even then he usually hugs her and sends her to her room. I guess that's favorable treatment, but honestly it's not a big deal to me. I'd be even harder on the other minions if he let me, especially the slackers who can't even run ten laps around the fortress."

You hear the jury murmuring amongst themselves. It's unclear how this makes you look, but it's certainly not at either extreme. Your ex-wife takes a turn examining Marigold next.

"Miss Marigold, would you say my husband is a capable leader?"

"Yes'm."

"Can you tell us where you were on the night of the fourth, at around, oh let's say nine o'clock? Need I remind you that lying while sitting on this bench will result in mental torture on the scale of which no sentient being can withstand?" You feel a little nervous.

"Er, I believe I was awaiting my dark lord in his chambers, as ordered."

"I see. And do you recall why it is he summoned you there that night?"

"I...I do."

"Tell the court, if you would." Marigold, turns a bit red, and looks to you for help, but you can offer none. It seems Janet has no idea where this is going either.

"Well, he summoned me there to speak to me."

"About?"

"About... he, erm..."

"Continue."

"He asked me to, er, tend to his needs for the night. Physically." The jury begins to murmur again.

"And did you obey his orders?"

"No. I refused."

"He tried to persuade me into staying by appealing to my sadomasochism, but I felt it was inappropriate to engage in a physical relationship with him based on my position at the organization." You can feel your ex-wife's lips curling up even without seeing them.

"So let me get this straight, he called you, a subordinate, to his bedroom to proposition you for sexual intercourse, then tried to bargain with you when you refused? Am I hearing that correctly?" She sets herself on the railing of the stand, sitting with her legs crossed and her head tilted cutely to one side.

"W-well it was only an offer, it's not as though he forced-"

"Ah! So not only was he propositioning you for sex, he didn't even have the courage to make it a direct order. Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, do these sound like the actions of a 'confident, capable leader'?" I think not. Nothing further." She slips down from the stand and makes her way back to her table. you grit your teeth, and turn to Marigold who tries to shout something, but vanishes before she is able. You turn to Janet, who seems a bit shaken.

"Well, that didn't go how I'd hoped. Still, we've got one last chance. If your daughter shows up and testifies, we can still swing this whole thing in our favor."

Unfortunately, you've still heard nothing from Ray. You need to buy time.

You take the stand and begin speaking about the difference in the way you conduct your business and the way you conduct your family life. You go into many topics, all of which you pad with needlessly long pauses and big words to squeeze out as much time as you can, while also attempting to confuse the jury into wandering over to your side.

There is laughter, crying, and at the end, as you deliver the final, most powerful point you have, applause. The judge is forced to call the court to order several times before things finally settle down. He then speaks to the room authoritatively.

"After hearing all of the arguments presented, I think it's time for the jury to make their decision. So, if you'll just step into the deliberation chamber and do as you were all bribed to do before the start of this case by the plaintiff, we can get this over with and go home."

The jury stand and apologize to you, confessing that they all agreed to vote you an unfit parent in return for lighter torture in the pits. You feel your heart drop into your stomach, but just as they are about to exit, the courtroom doors burst open again. You turn around to see none other than Vanessa, dressed only in her nightgown and a pair of slippers. Behind her is your old friend Ray, ragged and wrinkled, in his robes and hat smoking a hand rolled cigar. Vanessa takes one look around the room, spots you at the stand, and dashes across the floor, leaving a slipper behind as she leaps over the boundary and into your lap.

"Daddy! Uncle Ray came to pick me up! He even killed the hellhounds! I knew you wouldn't let me stay here!" She wraps you in a surprisingly tight hug, and plants a long kiss on your helmet. The jury is in awe, and the judge must call them to order again. Seeing this, Vanessa glares at him, and beams of yellow light shoot from her eyes, burning him to a crisp.

"Uncle Ray taught me that!"

The following three minutes of hacking, slashing, death rays, and chain lightning leave the courtroom in total disarray. As you rip and tear the jury to chunks, Janet excuses herself after congratulating you on your technical win. Duncan merely hides beneath the table, and Vanessa's mother sits patiently fixing her makeup as you commit acts of villainy the likes of which hadn't been seen in hell for nearly a week.

When all is done, you and the others are doused in blood and laughing. Ray offers to see Vanessa and Duncan out into the hall while you speak to her mother one last time before leaving, You approach the table and cross your arms triumphantly.

"Don't even say it, you asshole." She stands and begins putting away her files. "This isn't the last you'll hear about this. Vanessa belongs in hell, with her kind. With people who understand her."

I give her souls to feed, real ones, not those weak pale ones you have been feeding her, barely any real nutrition in them.
She learns to subjugate the surface under my wing, a valued LT., better than reading trash magazines and doing nothing.

You tell her that if she really wanted what was best for Vanessa, she'd think of things from her point of view as well. She does seem a bit hurt by this. To finish it off, you taunt her a bit, just like the old days, and begin making your way out of the room. As you walk, you hear her tell you to wait. You turn back, and feel your jaw drop a little.

She stands before you with her top bottom popped, and her skirt slightly raised.

"If we pretend we're fighting about something I bet we can get five good minutes in." You feel your old self taking control, but damn if he doesn't make a convincing argument.

You have an intense internal struggle, and eventually come to the conclusion that reliving the years of mindblowing, sanity warping sex with the woman voted hottest ass in hell three centuries running isn't worth your dignity. You take a deep breath, and try to ignore your erection as you tell her to find another dick to ride. She is shocked to the point of stumbling, and you leave the room with your honor, though not your boxer shorts, intact.

You enter the hallway where Vanessa, Duncan, Ray and Janet stand in a huddle making small talk. When she sees you, Vanessa goes for a hug, but you stop her to avoid the awkwardness that would bring up right now, on the pretense that you need to do something first.

You cross the floor to Ray and Janet, who both congratulate you.

"I've got another case to prepare for, so I should get running."

"And I have to get back to being retired. It's fun blasting some jerks now and then, but it's bad for my sciatica." Ray pounds on his lower back with a closed fist.

You need to get back home and get some more work done, but you can spare some time.

You thank Janet, and ask Ray if he'd like to join you and the others for lunch to celebrate. As Janet takes her leave, Ray mulls the offer over.

"Ah, I guess I'll join you. Nice to catch up after so long." You pat him on the shoulder and teleport the four of you to the Third Ring, home of the finest dining and shopping south of the aetherial plane.

As you traverse the boardwalk on the Sea of Blood and Bile, you ask everyone what they're in the mood for. Duncan is fine with anything, but Vanessa has a craving for a thick, bloody soul. Ray says his acid reflux will kick in if he eats something so rich, and prefers a good old fashioned steak and potato.

You tell Vanessa you'll whip her up something extra special when you get home, and that this is the first time you've gotten to see Ray in almost a decade. She understands, and the three of you travel to a rather high-class restaurant at the end of the boardwalk, decorated with brimstone columns and a blood fountain outside. You've heard nothing but bad things about the chef here, and some say he's a madman.

You approach the Maître d's podium and ask for a table. He flips through a tome as thick as your arm and stops on a page, fingering the column there for an open slot.

"I'm afraid we've no tables tonight, or any night for the next few years. If you'd like to make a reservation-"

Duncan produces a knife from his hip, and tosses it into the waiter's throat. As he collapses on the ground, gurgling, you step around the podium and erase one of the names, replacing it with yours.

The four of you find a nice spot by the window and wait for a waiter.

You give Duncan a pat on the shoulder for his good work, and turn to Ray, asking him about what he's been up to since he left the firm.

"Ah, not much. Reading, napping, fishing, carving explosive runes, you know. Retirement agrees with me, but I gotta say it's nice to stretch the old soul now and again." You agree, the downtime between your old job and your new one were the most dull days of your life.

You ask about the old boys from your time with the Sorcerer Vald. Ray confesses to losing touch with most, including your old boss, but he has spoken to Peter from accounting, and apparently he's been transferred to potential assets.

"There's some kid wandering around, healing the sick and sealing minor devils. It's nuts. Can't be more then seven, and the runt's got powers most clerics work their whole lives to get a taste of. Vald wants tabs on him, but he's slippery. They think he might have some help, but it's tough tracking someone with divine guidance."

You make a note of that for later. You change the subject back to his apprentice, and ask about her.

"Eh? Her name's Caitlyn. Picked her up begging for scraps outside my tower. Bandits got her older sister, I guess. Don't normally like kids, but she was cute, and she had a way with the cauldron. Had her making hex potions for a while to sell to chumps in town, but she started peeking at my cantrip notes and before I knew it she was throwing sparks and making the cat dance." Quite impressive, for someone so young.

You offer to take her in for a while, and though he seems uncertain, he doesn't oppose the idea. While he thinks, the waiter brings you some wine and bread to start. While he pours, you add that you know a pretty good necromancer by the name of Shaka, who was tough enough to tie you up in a fight. You don't mention him being the cause of all the drama lately.

"She's not much for necromancy, but I'll keep him in mind. Anyway, you're right that it might be good for her to get out and see the business up close." You laugh, and notice that Vanessa seems a bit put off by the idea of having another young girl wandering the fortress. Before you can soothe her, you are brought your menus.

You all place your orders, and move on with the conversation. Vanessa recants her time held in captivity, while Duncan catches her up on things at work. You and Ray reminisce about old times, and the others seem genuinely interested. After a good while, your plates are brought out and set on the table. Duncan takes a cut of murder salmon, which is much like normal salmon but murdery. Ray orders a slab of beef from the Island of Homunculi. It looks quite tender, and perfectly pink inside. Vanessa has a thick burger made from all natural human meat and seasoned with the screams of widows. Not many people appreciate the subtle taste of a good scream. You yourself enjoy a nice rack of cockatrice wings. Each bite is zesty and full of flavor, but you have to be careful when separating the head from the body.

You continue to talk and laugh over lunch, before finally setting your forks down and leaning back in your chairs.

"This was nice. Don't be afraid to call me out more often." Ray wipes his mouth with his napkin, and finishes off the last of his wine. "I better get back though, Cait gets nosy when she's bored, and I don't need her touching my lab. See ya around." With that, Ray vanishes into a puff of red smoke. Duncan asks what you'll do now.

You leave a generous tip, and prepare to teleport home. As you step through the aetherial plane, a cold sensation runs up your back, throwing you off balance, and knocking you off guard when you set your feet down in the halls of your fortress.

You look around and behold carnage. The bodies of your underlings are littering the floors, and in some cases the walls. They are all cut cleanly, and not a one is left alive. Duncan and Vanessa are shocked. You hear no alarms indicating an attack, only eerie silence. Outside, the light of sunset illuminates the death through the windows, and you begin walking the halls in search of any sign what happened.

The kitchen is bloody, your office is ransacked, and Vanessa's bedroom has been opened. You feel a mixture of rage and confusion, until at last you reach the training hall. Across from you, at the center of the sparring circle, are Shen and Marigold, both struggling for breath and ready to collapse, standing across from a man in shining armor, with a right arm that looks to be carved from stone. He turns to see you enter, and you behold none other than Cruz.

"Hello, friend. I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd drop by." He turns fully, revealing a long, curved blade of the east in his new hand. It is soaked in blood.

"If only you had that kind of sympathy for the common man." Cruz lines up his sword with your chest. "I'm going to carve that soft heart from your body and burn it."

Vanessa slides around and stands in front of you, spreading her arms to cover most of your body. You push her gently aside, and take up a stance with your sword drawn.

Marigold and Shen see an opening, and prepare to spring an attack while you have Cruz' attention.

You spread your arms, and invite Cruz to take the first swing. Vanessa tries to rush back in front of you, but Duncan holds her back.

"Daddy, no! No!" Despite her stuggle, Duncan manages to escort her from the room and into he hall, shutting the door behind them. Cruz watches, amused, and then turns back to you.

"You truly are arrogant. I'll take your offer, though." He spreads his legs, and tucks his sword into the sheathe on his belt. You've never seen this stance, but you only need to see it once. Just as you'd hoped, Marigold and Shen wait for him to take a step forward before springing into action. Unfortunately, you didn't plan for another uninvited guest.

A small knife flies through the air, striking Marigold in the thigh and causing her to collapse. Shen is distracted by this, and stops before leaping at Cruz. There is a flash of light, and suddenly Cruz is standing right before you, sword sliding from it's home with the speed of a diving hawk, blade turned up and coming across your chest in a smooth motion. You are just barely able to turn your body enough to avoid a fatal blow, but the cut does pierce your armor.

You take a step back, and grit your teeth at the burning pain of the cut as Cruz readjusts his stance to a more familiar one.

"Good work, child." His eyes flicker to the side, at a small child in white robes, holding another knife and a holy symbol.

Your strides are long and quick despite your size and weight, and you are upon him in moments. The weak thing freezes in fear, clearly not prepared for this, and merely stands petrified as you bring your sword down, cleaving the helpless brat in two. As the blood slashes across the floor of your training hall, you hear a scream of rage from behind you.

You whirl around and see Cruz with his blade hilt deep in Shen, who is barely holding back the sputter of blood trying to escape his mouth. Cruz retrieves his blade, and charges you blindly.

It's a trivial matter to wait for the right moment, then thrust your sword deep into Cruz belly. His momentum carries him forward until the cross-guard stops him. Blood gushes from his mouth, and runs down your hand to drip onto the floor. His arms go limp, and his sword clatters to the floor. His expression of wrath and terror is soon replaced by one of acceptance and amusement.

"I see. I suppose anger did lead me off of my path. Was this all a test, then?" You're not sure who he's speaking to, but you listen nonetheless. "You win. I'm just another blade of grass in the way of your sword. But, at the very least, I know you won't be able to sleep too well tonight, after seeing that." He smiles, and points limply to the ground behind you. You turn, and see only a white robe. No body or blood remains from the child you bisected. You grit your teeth and turn back to Cruz, who is chuckling despite the blood streaming down his lips.

"Finish me then, I'm tired of your stench."

You ask Shen how he's feeling. You see him kneeling, with his hands forming a strange sign in front of his face. You can sense energy flowing rapidly through his body, pooling around his stomach.

"I can heal the major damage, but I will need time to rest. Do with the bastard what you will." You turn back to Cruz, barely hanging on. You know what you'll do. You summon Vanessa.

She enters, still clad in her pajamas, and strides confidently toward you. Cruz can't turn to see her until she is close, and does seem unsure of what's happening. Vanessa looks at you, nods, and then reaches out to caress his bloody face.

"Let me hold that for you, sweetheart," she says, grinning. Cruz' eyes go wide as she leans in, pressing her lips to his. His strength has drained with his blood, leaving hims too weak to turn away as she pries open his lips with hers. You hear a scream muffled by their joined mouths, and after a moment his skin begins turning pale and dry. When Vanessa finally pulls away, a trail of something golden and bright is made between them, and is sucked into Vanessa's mouth, which she closes and wipes clean.

"Mmm, daddy, can't I swallow this one? Paladins are so hard to come by." You refuse, and tell Duncan to summon Shaka.

An hour or so later, you sit in your office chair, with the body of the recently fallen Paladin spread across your desk. Vanessa sits cross legged on the arm of your chair, and files her nails while you await your guest.

Shaka enters your office through the wooden door behind Duncan. You greet him warmly, and Vanessa hisses.

You remind Shaka of his time with your daughter, and he seems genuinely apologetic.

"Sorry, kid, business is business." You ask if he wouldn't mind doing a little cracking and modding for you, pointing at Cruz' corpse. "Sure, sure, I love a good project, plus I'm technically supposed to be in prison for treason. Your boy here busted me out." Shake points a thumb at Duncan. He approaches the desk, rubs his bandaged hands together, and wiggles his fingers.

"Let's see what we have to work with. Hope you aren't shy!" He tears away the modesty tarp you spread over Cruz, revealing his nude form beneath.

"Oh my," comments Vanessa, blushing.

"Oh my," comments Duncan, blushing. Shaka gives the body a thorough once over.

"Let's see. Good muscle mass. Seems well fed. If I didn't know better I'd say you killed him fresh today, haha! Hmm... man, this guy is in great shape! And I'm not just talking about his BMI. This arm might be a problem though. It's not organic, so I can't really affect it. Without it, I can promise you he'll be a worse fighter, but if you leave it on you risk him remembering his old will. If we rip it off, I can grow him a new one but he'll wake up hungry as a lumberjack."

You reach out and tear the arm out. Luckily you had Duncan drain his blood first, so all the comes out is a little loose meat.

"Perfect! Just let me do a few adjustments." Shaka produces a bag of tools, mostly sharp blades and hooks, and begins working. The process takes about an hour as the three of you watch, until he stands up straight and sighs.

"Done and dusted. Now the vessel just needs a soul." You order Vanessa to cough it up, and she frowns. She opens her mouth to reveal the golden shining soul still lingering on her tongue, and prepares to reintroduce it, sliding off of the arm of your chair and leaning in to Cruz.

"Whoa, you're gonna use his old soul? Most people don't keep those around. Fun fact, you can actually use just about any soul for a thrall. Common misconception really. In fact, if you want to gather them up, I can stuff this guy with as many souls as you want. Each one lends it's experience and knowledge to his power. Of course, if you put the old soul back in it'll resist any new ones you try to add. It's kind of complicated." You rub your chin. Vanessa looks at you with puppy dog eyes, silently asking permission to swallow what may possibly be the only Paladin soul she'll ever have the immense pleasure of rolling around in her mouth.

You tell Shaka you want to use an amalgam. He nods, and asks where you plan to get them. You instruct Duncan to lead him around the fortress and scrape up as many lingering souls he can from the minions, and gather them together. The two of them exit the room, leaving you alone with Vanessa. You give her permission to indulge herself, and she giggles happily.

She plops herself down in your lap and kicks her feet, chewing on the divine soul, enjoying it's flavor. You're a little jealous you can't eat souls raw like she can. You watch as she presses her palms to her cheeks, giggling and blushing at the rich, sweet and decadent flavor filling her mouth. She leans her head on your chest, and opens her mouth to show you it's contents. You see a golden, almost liquid substance, shifting and rippling. You can hear a faint scream of horror from her throat, just before she closes her mouth again, and takes it all down in one big gulp. Vanessa traces a finger down her throat, between her breasts, and stops at her stomach. A small burp slips out through her lips, and she blushes even more.

"Excuse me!" After wiping her mouth, she pulls herself up into another hug. "Thank you! You're the best, daddy!"

You tell Vanessa it's the least she deserves after what she's been through, and she seems pleased to hear it.

Vanessa's oral escape took long enough that Duncan and Shaka return very soon after, with a bottle containing a green flame. Shake approaches the body, holds open the mouth, and begins pouring. The flame spills into Cruz' mouth, seemingly endless in supply.

"While I'm doing this, I need one of you to take one of my tool and jam it in his arm socket." Duncan takes up the call, picking out an old bone carved with runes, inserting it as Shaka instructs. Without warning, muscle and bone begin growing in place of the missing arm, creating one identical to the left.

When Shaka's bottle finally runs out, he corks it, and stands back. The corpse begins breathing, albeit harshly, and color returns to the skin. It's still quite pale, but it would pass for living. A long series of runes and marks drawn into the flesh by Shaka light up, and burn away as if made from paper, until the last one is gone and the body begins shaking violently. After a minute or so of this, is sits bolt upright, and peers around the room. Upon seeing you, it slides off of the desk and leans into a bow.

"My dark lord," it says, in the voice of a hundred men, "It is good to see you. We live to serve."

You travel together with Legion to town, still nude as a newborn. One look from you and the constabulary stands down, allowing you to pass into the packed holding cells. Thieves, murderers, rapists, and drunks line the walls of the stone hall, held back by iron bars.

Legion walks out into the middle of the hall, and takes a good look around, before turning back to you.

Legion nods, and approaches a cell. One of the interred reaches out to grab him, but is far too slow to retract his arms when Legion grips his extended wrists, pulling him into the bars with such force that his skull cracks open. See this, the others step back, shocked, and watch helplessly as Legion takes a bloody bite out of the dead man's arm. He eats sloppilu, all the way down to his elbows before deciding it has become to difficult, and releases the now bony arm. He reaches out and grabs two of the bars, flexing his arms and begins bending them until they are wide enough to accommodate his muscular body. He slips thriugh, and continues consuming the raw flesh.

The other prisoners soon realize their fate will be the same without any interference, and begun attacking Legion. His body retains the strength and speed of Cruz, and he is able to effortlessly beat them to death with only his bare hands, and any weapons he can make from their own bones.

You watch him finish this cell, and another before he wipes his mouth and approaches you. He thanks you for the meal with a bow.
