Major? Are you sleeping again?

I know this is hard work, but we have to go through this. Ever since they disconnected the MAGI for the clean-up we've been working one paper forms.

Can you believe this? It's 2016 and we still have to work on paper. Unbelievable.

No question we should prioritize getting the evas back to fill strength.

But we might need to start scrimping a little. Get the damaged tank companies to 3/4ths effectiveness would be a good compromise.

...and here is the collateral damage report.

We've been allocated more funding since we're now housing a third Evangelion Unit. Though I heard that the higher ups in the U.N. are... uncomfortable with the lost of our two units.

Anyway this time we have 70 Funding Units.

Repair Unit 02, and the other two to full if its possible, repair the Tank Companies to 3/4ths strength. Finally, repair industrial district 03.

There's no replacing CAG.
>>
>>45621034
Do we really need to repair unit 03 ?
If we really want to be safe, we could repair it to half of it maximum HP ?
>>
>>45621039
Fixing Industrial is a big priority considering thats where our positron research lab is.

What would be the downside of leaving Rural District 10 unrepaired?)
>>
>>45621039
Can we just repair EVAs normally or does it cost extra when they get fried like this?

Also how much to fix CAG?
>>
>>45621091
Unit 03 has lower resistance/health than the other two as is. But its... um... episode does bring up some concerns.
>>
>>45621128
Also we kind of don't have a pilot now. Eileen is tang.
>>
>>45621091
>>45621128
Having it at full strength will allow us some extra breathing space in case our other EVAs are wrecked. It's an emergency measure, but I think it's worth the cost.
>>
Also, Bakelite ordnance for our strategic bomber sound like a good idea.

>>45621128
Well, the pilot is MIA, that's why I was unsure about repairing it.
If we want to be sure, we could just repair it just enough to work.
>>
>>45621167
Also, I cannot recall if pilots can pilot other EVAs, I think their harmonics are wrecked, but it's possible if i remember right.
>>

We've got top men working on that.

Top. Men.

Since my sister was given a leave for the death of her husband, I'm required to also give you this.

Fortunately, the research teams made significant breakthroughs before the angel attack. I've updated your R&D document with appropriate upgrades in Positron and MAGI Supercomputer technologies. You'll need to allocate our research staff to new projects. We currently have two research facilities, so you can pick two fields.

>>45621008
Last meeting I think I heard they were up to 13. I'm not sure though, you'll have to ask our U.N. attaché for confirmation.

>>45621013

>It is our duty to repair civilian structures. The downside is not doing our job, Major.
Right right... don't know what I was thinking.

Hm... So we've got the positron rifle concept functioning then?

That's good. Now we just need a way to power it.

I wonder if we can create an unmanned nuclear unit to house it... or at the very least the power it. Or if we can reverse engineer an Super Solenoid Engine from an angel instead.
>>
>>45621298
Depending on how much supply we have remaining, we could outfit our tanks with Royal Ordinance L77, as I believe we'll need more reliable support with only two operational Units.

For further research:

Magi Supercomputer Development & Evangelion Unit Development

>>
Unit 01 : +10
Unit 02 : +1
Unit 03 : +1/5/8
ACE : +2
Coin : +1
Ind - 03 : +2
Psy TEAM +1

total : 18/22/25 (I would go for the 21 option)

Add layer on the Geofront (11)
AT flares King + Smoke shell on Queen (5 + 3) They don't make that much damage. We use them most of the time as support for our pilots, give them the weapon they need for this task.
Bakelit Ordnance on Hermit, Howitzer on Temperence(3) Support for emergency + Having a strategic bomber able to make some fire support without destroying half the city.

total 22

Research :
I would recommend :
Entry Plug technology (since we have hard time keeping our pilot under control)
Evangelion Unit Development (since it's still our main weapon)

Could be interesting to switch one of them with MAGI since we had some trouble with it last time.

This is a base we can work on.

Last minute : >>45621425 space technology sound great

Also, on a last note : About the transmission CAG gave us. I remember we decrypted it, but do we know what the arrow and circle were pointing on the map ? Can we investigate ?
>>
>>45621298
we should stick with positron tech to figure out a power source but we can switch magi research to something else.

Space Research seems obvious, assuming UAO is an immediate threat. But otherwise I'd like to try researching Nuclear Unit (pic related) or Angel Engineering.

From what I understand, we must buy the research upgrade ? It mean 3 + 3 (positron + magi) ? If yes +6

Also, can we use the shuttle launch system (strategic bomber) to put an EVA on orbit ?
If yes, it would worth the 5 points.

10 +1 + 8 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 10 + 5 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + (5)(shuttle launch)
>57(62) points with the most expensive options.

Lobotomy is crude in principle but rather subtle in actual execution, it certainly doesn't leave this kind of scars, just couple small holes.
This has to be more sophisticated kind of surgery - either reconstruction after serious injury or some sort of implant / graft.

Come on, just ask him about the girl and drop it if he refuses to talk. What are they going to do, fire us for being curious about the sketchy-as-fuck classified bullshit taking place behind our back? Not asking questions would show a disturbing lack of interest.
It's not our fault their security couldn't keep a teenage girl locked in her room for ten minutes.

If you want my opinion, no one should have to get into those Eva Units. But the kid is stronger. He might surprise you.

Lots of soldiers have died under my orders. Many of them went to their deaths willingly. To try and protect you children in whatever way they could.

Sweetheart, Rachels a fighter. You've seen her put more than one hotshot asshole in their place. Something like this? She'll be on her feet soon enough.

it's just that when she does, shes going to be weak. Shes going to need help to get around abit, to help out with chores.

So Anna, stay with me for now. Stay with me until Rachel gets back on her feet. And then she'll come to stay with us as well until we've nursed her back to health.

>>45626114
>>45626187
Dammit guys, dont get angry at the kid.
>>
>>45626074
I know what you're feeling...I like CAG very much too...and i made a promise to her to take care of you. I want to fulfill my promise. If CAG felt that i was the right one to take care of you, maybe you should think about it?

If you don't feel right about me being your guardian we will look for someone else. But for the time being I cant let you all alone.

Please, for Rachel....
>>
>>45626202
She fucking burned David's face off.
>>
>>45626202
You know, considering she's also kind of the reason 2 EVAs are out of commission with that uncalled shot of hers, the reason David is scarred for life, and the reason Eileen is tang, I think we have a little leeway in being at least a bit angry here anon.
>>
>>45626258
wasn't Eileen already tang by that point?
>>
>>45626048
I'm not sure we can engage them outside of the "map". Also, if you think about power supply, all support assets, etc. It sound like a logistical nightmare.

>>45626074
Yes. I was in charge. It's my responsibility. I took risk and people died. I didn't do that light heartedly. Rachel was a close friend and I feel as bad as you, if not worse, because as you said, I gave the order.

As a lot of people, she followed those order willingly. She was trying to protect this earth. But she was also trying to protect you.

Her last word were for you. She asked me to take care of you. And I will follow her will.
If you don't want to follow me, I will follow you to Rachel's house.

Now let's by those beer. She will be disappointed if she find her fridge empty.

>>45626258
She's a child.
>>
>>45626243
The angel exploding burned David's face off.
>>45626258
There was no guarantee David would have stopped Eileen. Did you really want unit 2 to go godmode on us?
>>
>>45626243
>>45626258

We do not.

David was scarred due to the bombardment that WE CALLED.

Eileen was tanged before anything she did.

Getting Angry at her solves nothing except make us feel better. It just strengthens the resistance against us. Talk to her, console her, cry with her. Work with her or things will go sour very fast.

Remembers shes now our only operational pilot. We need this to work.
>>
>>45626294
David didn't need to stop Eileen though!

He only needed to hold her back long enough for the VTOLs to finish off the 4th angel, which was gonna die anyways. Her shot was the one that killed it off before David and Eileen could clear the explosion.
>>
>>45626292

Nightmares that were overcome in the show. Pretty sure we can make it work. Besides, airlift capability is always useful and its rather cheap if we consider that each plane can probably carry one eva. So upgrading one squadron should allow us to ferry all our evas.
>>

>She's a child.

It's not by getting angry and mad at child who fucked up after seeing someone she cared about "dying" that we will resolve this situation.

We need to be an example for her, someone she can trust if we want to be able to make her change.

I'm actually abit upset at the Bombardment wing captain.

This guy really didn't care abit about sacrificing the EVAs and the children in them. Heck, he was ready to give up on David before he was even eaten. Even if they were in the way of bombing run, he would still drop bombs.
>>
>>45626513
Telling her that this shit never ends and that even as an adult we, a person in charge of her well being and life, are as emotionally compromised as she is may not be the best trust building exercise.
>>
>>45626570
Considering this kid is going through an emotional breakdown after losing the only person close to her, I think she needs someone, even if it is the person that is responsible for her pain, to comfort her in some way.

If it's not hugging, then please, give me an alternative.

>He takes the bag.

Labatt 50 Major? Really?

>As you get into the car, he reaches under the steering wheel and disconnects a small electronic device you did not remember being there.

Look, I'll be frank. I need friends here. Curious friends, and you fit the bill. I heard from a certain comm. officer that you and the CAG we're digging into some kind of rogue transmission before your assassination attempt. And I tell you, it ain't the only weird thing happening around here.

I've been digging around Montréal-3 these past few weeks about the sabotage attempt. Higher ups wanted to close the case saying it was some kind of terrorist attempt by some cult and augment security and personnel screening, which the commander did. That's why we now have four more security stations before reaching the Geofront.

Now, I'm a bit more curious than that, and I found really weird that those prisoners you took in Boston were transferred to a U.N. prison the day after the angel attack. So I've investigated those ''cultists'' that were disguised as a MAGI maintenance crew. The thing is, they were all legit Nerv personnel, and they were all transferred from other branches months before the attack. This is a pretty common infiltration tactic, but I linked everyone of these transfers to a U.N. official, which is weird as hell.

The question then is.
Does that make Elizabeth, head of R&D, also a target?

spoopyshit:

Okay. So someone's trying to murder David (presumably for getting the leaked broadcast), the UN is intentionally fugging NERV, someone sabotaged the MAGI system (which might be the brain of a little girl), and we have a map of MAGI's floor that has far more rooms than are available on the normal map.

The /pol/ in me is suspecting that someone remotely jammed CAG's flight controls during the Angel fight and she's being replaced in the hospital by a body double.

How are we meant to go down to the MAGI floor without anyone instantly knowing "Yep David knows too much, double them assassination attemps"

Greenland, as a general area of the world, is sparsely populated at best. Drop an N2 mine on this fucker's face as >>45628808 said, then, if it seems receptive, nuke this jumped-up pisser off the face of our planet.

Actually, why don't we get give CBG a ring and tell her we've got a target for a sustained, long-range bombing campaign over the next three weeks? This is *perfect* for strategic bombers.
>>
We have tested nukes vs. ships and subs in the past. They don't work well. We may have bigger bombs but Angles are also a hell of alot tougher. N2s are a delaying measure, at best. Don't expect to do much damage, assuming we get authorization to even deploy them in international waters.

Similar in strength to *low yield* nukes. That is, multi-kiloton range. As far as conventional explosives go, a dozen kilotons is colossal. As far as nukes go, a dozen kilotons is chump change when you can easily push *thousands* of kilotons if you're building fusion bombs for big booms. For comparison, the USA's ground-launched strategic warheads are around the 350-400kT mark, while the sub-launched ones come in 100kT and 400kT varieties.

Just putting that on the table.
