You are Samantha Smith and Blah, Blah, Blah, by now you people should know that you were once a chubby teenage girl, who went to fatcamp, tried to turn her life around, and wound up with a pancake skull after landing on a rock. But hey, not everything sucked cause you wound up reborn in a fantasy world as a Harpy to a happy family with whom you’ve already had a bunch of fun adventures, including several near death experiences and a snake on your foot.

Right now, you are hidden just outside your parent’s room, listening in on their conversation, they seem to be talking about the family and maybe you? Or is it your twin? Either case, it seems that your mother is wanting to take you on a trip with her and…

“Alright Steven, I’ll go talk with our daughters.”
“Aight, honey, I’ll keep watch over Jr. then, git some good ol’ father-son bonding.”
You hear your mother give a tittering laugh.
“He’s a fledgling Steven, he barely knows up from down.”
“Bah, won’ stop me from having a fun time wit me son.”
“Well I’ll go gather the girls and tell them the news, just, keep him safe alright?”
“Cross my heart love.”
You hear the sound of the two of them kissing. Which means Mom is probably going to come out here pretty soon, as long as they don’t take it too far like they always seem to do, maybe you should head back to the nursery so they don’t know you’ve been sneaking.

Dice System is 1d100, Best of 3 rolls, Roll over the DC.
There are sometimes multiple DCs to a single roll ranging from Critical Fail-Major Fail-Failure-Success-Major Success-Critical Success.

There will be roughly 10-15 minutes for voting and updates will take place on average of 20-40 minutes after I call the vote.

After all sessions I will stick around for Q&A. Feel free to ask me silly questions, tell jokes, and hang out with your QM.

Sorry for the late start, I’m exhausted but the show must go on. Can’t keep calling hiatus.

You decide that it would probably be for the best if your parents found you where they left you, after all, you can only run away from home so many times before they eventually just get sick of it. You decide to slip back to the nursery before they find out. So, taking a few steps back you think you hear movement from inside the room and, you literally hightail it back as fast as your little taloned feet can carry you, wind rushing through your hair and feathers as you hurry back to the safety of the nursery. Getting there you dive, headfirst, into the pile of white furry fluff and feathery down that constitutes a makeshift bed and blanket, sending puffs flying in all directions that gently drift back down to the ground. Using your wings, you quickly bring all of it back into the pile and settle down inside, only the top of your head and wings poking out from the sides.

It takes a moment, you can hear your family members moving through the house, but you keep still, they’ll come for you soon enough, and its best to play the part like you never heard a word about what your parents were saying, well you might, but for now its probably best to continue pretending to be an innocent chick with over active Genetic Memory or whatever it was your Mom said, you know the truth.

Within short order you hear the sticks behind you crunch.
“Sister, Heeey, Hey Sister” You hear the voice of your twin call out from behind you.
“Mom wants to see us in the main nest. Says she has a surprise for us.”

How do you reply?

WRITING
>>

Yeah, I'm glad it didn't become a big drama-inducing thing either.

But it is a moral imperative to train our folks to not to be too dismissive of us! They've only been parents for roughly a week now, so this is an important time in their training. If we get too loose with them now, we'll never be able to correct their bad behavior.
>>
>>45644635
I find it far funnier that we can't figure out how to say certain words.

>>45644440
You keep your back turned to your twin, no, you know what they want to do, they want to try and distract you from the fact that no one of them believed you when you said you had memories from a past life as a human and came from another world. Treating you like you are some kind of over-imaginative little kid or something. You give a “Humph!” of dissatisfaction and lower yourself a bit deeper into the pile of fluff, the soft white down tickling you, you try your hardest to keep on a small scowl.

“Sister, hey, are you ignoring me? Come on, is this cause of earlier? Are you grumpy Mom and Dad put you in time out and not me?” Your sister questions, you can feel her, hopping to and fro on the branches behind you, disturbing your fluff pile! How dare she!

You huff again, that is sure to get her to leave you alone, clearly you will make it obvious that yes, this is about earlier, but no, its cause nobody listened to you,, and when your sister said she remembered stuff, everyone believed her right away.

“Hey, Hey!” “Heeeey!”

You wonder if this is how annoying you are to her in the morning, when she just wants to sleep in. You really wish she would just leave the nursery right about now so that way you can- You feel… a disturbance in the fluff…

Turning to your side you see that your sister has come to join you in the pile, the white poofs covering her almost entirely save her wings and the top of her head.
“Sis… you gotta come, Mom said she wants all of us. And if not I’m gonna stay riiight Here. Until you stop acting funny and come out there with me.” Feathers go flying from where her mouth is located and float softly on the wind.

Calling for SULK.

Writing
>>
Oh jeez.

What would Mom do if we revealed that we remembered how we died?
>>
In retrospect, I suppose we might not have the right target for all this sulking, seeing as Dad
was the one that was dismissive about it, yet he has nothing to do with this upcoming trip. Mom was just kinda shocked by the story.

But still, emotions! We were just answering the question by baring our soul, and we got shushed and put back to bed because of it! There must be a reckoning, a fluffy feathery reckoning!
>>
>>45646280

That... might actually be convincing.

Near as I can tell, genetic memories aren't supposed to come from a single person. Having a firm death experience might push her and Dad further towards believing that we're an actual reincarnation, even if they don't understand that we're from a different world.
>>
>>45646623
I don't think Mom has any actual problem with believing us, though. She mostly just seemed shocked, and later doubtful of her husband's explanation. Dad's the one who laughed at the story and shushed us and put us to bed.
>>
HARPY HYPE
>>
>>45646785

She didn't say that she believed us, though, just that Steven's suggestion of memory coming down from the human side was unprecedented.

Plus if she did believe us, telling her that we remember how we died would only reinforce her confidence that we aren't simply confused about the genetic memory.
>>
>>45646785
I still think Steven's reaction was suspicious. Even when I was spouting complete bullshit as a little kid, my parents would always play along with it for at least a little while; they never did an outright dismissal like he did.
>>
>>45645679
Nope, you are having none of it! None of it you say! You twin is trying to play the cute sister card to get you to quit sulking. But that’s not gonna work, you are a master of bottling your emotions and giving the cold shoulder to the world, you’re a sixteen year old girl after all. You simply pout and turn away from your sister. The nest lies quiet, only the rustle of leaves and a soft wind whistling through the canopy keeping you company for a brief stitch of time, it seems that your twin has decided to stay. After a moment of silence she finally speaks up.

“Sis, what are you even doing?”
“I’m sulking, what does it look like I’m doing?”
“Looks like your grumpy and sitting in bed.”
“Well Yeah, cause I’m sulking.”
“…Oh…”

The silence returns between the two of you, you feel your sister shift in the fluff pile, twitching her wings, then you feel her reel back.

“Achoo!” she sneezes.
“Bless you.”
“Hunh?”
“Bless you, its… it’s a saying that I remember. Whenever someone sneezes you just, kinda say it.”
“Ah… hey Sis, you said you remembered a buncha stuff right?”

She doesn’t know the half of it, you roll your eyes. “Yeah, I remember a whole past life, from another world too, where there was electric carriages and humans could fly in big metal tubes with wings. You… You believe me right?” You question your sister, turning to look at her.

She returns a different look, one that seems almost passive, neutral. She shrugs with her wings, lifting up two whole piles of fluff in the process. “I mean, maybe? I dunno, but does it really matter? We are sisters. That’s all that matters to me, I mean I have memories too but, I don’t think on them much, they are just sortsa there.”

You give a small pout, that, while sweet, wasn’t exactly the response you were hoping for from her.

“Look Sis, you’re the best twin a girl could ask for…” you begin.
This illicits a happy little titter and chirp from your sister, which makes it all the harder for you to bring down the second part of the sentence.
“But I think you should go have fun with Mom and Ciel, Its not you, I just, I just want some time alone.”

Your sister seems crestfallen at this. “Oh… well, no can do Sis. I said I wasn’t leaving till you came with. Guess we are both gonna sit an sulk today.” She herself has a small pout on her face, no doubt saddened on missing out on whatever the big surprise is.

When we were answering her question, she seemed "rapt with interest, slightly shocked in fact". And when responding to her husband's theory, she was " both shocked, frightened, and excited all at the same time". None of that seems to indicate disbelief.

Meanwhile, she already seems worried about her poor little girl and the burden of all that genetic memory on her, so it might be rough on her to suddenly bring up memories of death via falling.

You look to your twin, her little pout, her hung head, all the floof snuggled around her, she seems so disappointed, your heart, fed on cat videos and gifs of little girls having fun basically screams at you for being a terrible sister and ruining your twin’s fantastic day to come. And just like that, you can’t take it anymore. With a sigh, you stand back up, out of the bedding.

“Alright Sister, I’ll go, I’ll go…” You groan, you won’t like it but you’ll do it for her.
Her expression brightens a bit at this. “Really?” she looks up to you, not leaving the pile just yet.
“Yeah, come on, we’ll go see Mom.” You relent, really unable to resist your twin’s demeanor, your little frown flip-turns upside down, and becomes a small smile.
Your twin however practically beams, and stands up rapidly, throwing her wings around you in a hug. “Yay!” she shouts in excitement, squeezing you with her poofy feathers, and pulling you close.
You return in kind, snuggleing against her like you have so many times before releasing and- wait… was that a smirk? Did you just see a smirk? No, no it must have just been your imagination playing tricks on you.

Your twin, for once, leads the way as the two of you head back to the nest proper. Where you find your Mother and sister Ciel waiting for the two of you.
“Oh, there my little twins are. I was just about to come looking for you two, well good. Now that we have everyone gathered together, there is something I wanted to tell you.”
The three of you look to your mother with various amounts of interest, you with the least seeing as you already know what she is going to say next.

Your mother pauses in her speech and looks away for a moment, as if lost in thought.
“Oh right, hunting, the three of you will follow me in a pattern like this.”
She holds her wings in an upside down V shape,
“With Mii and Mai on either side of me and Ciel taking up the rear on a side of her choice. We have a little ways to fly, but I don’t want you getting tired on the way there after all we are heading to-“

“-the hills to the north, I’m sure all of you have seen them be it on your flights or climbing to the top of the tree.” She looks to you and your twin as she says this a smile that says, don’t think I’ve forgotten your antics so soon.

Your twin gives a nervous giggle and fidgets in place but you remain stoic, you know what you did, and you’d do it again, infact, every day is a new adventure to you and you aren’t going to apologize for it.

“The flight will be long, and the monsters there dangerous for little harpies such as yourselves, so the entire time you are to stick to me like sap. But it is the best place for me to show you how this world works and also where the best game is for our family of six.” Your mother explains astutely, waggling her wing talon as she does so.

Your mother then walks around behind the three of you, “Now to the nest edge, hurry hurry, like I said it’s a very long trip for my very little harpies. And we want to have you back before bedtime.” She edges you forwards with her large white wings.

“Steven, I’m headed out with the girls. We’ll be back later, there is some Uni-bunny left over by the load bearer for the right wing of the nest if the little one gets hungry.”
“Aye! See ya soon Honey!” he calls back to her from across the nest.

“Alright, on the count of three I’m going to push each of you out, ready? Ciel, One, Two, Three!” Your mother shouts, giving Ciel a little shove and Off she goes, taking flight up into the sky to circle round the nest for the rest of you.

“Alright, Mii, One,” Wait, you still don’t know which one of you is Mii and which one of you is Mai. “Two” She said the littlest, but you won the wrestling match, so it has to be your sister right? “Three!” You feel a shove on your backside as you are pushed from the nest and into open air. Well, looks like that answers that question. You think, as you speed towards the ground for a bit before your instincts take over and you wings catch the wind…

________
Thats all for tonight folks. Sticking around for Q&A till I pass out.

well, now we know. also we can screw with people who ask us who we are. that joke will never get old.
>>

>inb4 one of the tactics she teaches us for hunting is grabbing something, ligiting it high into the air, and dropping it headfirst onto a large rock

That'll be a fun PTSD attack for everyone involved.

What is the largest evolution of Harpy?
>>
>>45649431
...Well, it'd be a nice segue into talking about how we remember our own death.

Indeed

Nah, Anon why would I have that?

>>45649459
Love you too.

>>45649527
Roc Harpy or one of its variants.
>>
>>45649564
What is this from anyways?
>>
>>45649564
So what tier 2 are we heading too if we maintain course?
>>
>>45649564

Because it's a tactic actual eagles use for killing turtles and shit, and Mom isn't privy to our memories of our death to know we might be traumatized by it.
>>
>>45649294
Thanks for the thread!

>>45649431
Hah! Yeah, that might be a bit rough on poor Mii. Though I imagine it's also a fairly dangerous tactic anyway, as the prey could strike back hard between the grab and the drop.
>>
>>45649611

It's usually used on 'less dangerous' prey, like turtles or crabs or armadillos.
>>
>>45649564
>Roc Harpy or one of its variants.
Nah ZIZ HARPY IS THE LARGEST!

Try and figure it out, look at what you've rolled well on, and also, the fights you pick will determine things.

Hmmm... big.
>>
>>45649768
I really hope it's a big harpy, Since we've been doing stuff that'd lead to it, Since we rolled really good at wrestling and fighting.

Stop reaching so hard for your shitty evolution path.

Please get your pleb peasant ass outta here.
>>
>>45649958
They're cool when they're birds, but I think it's a shit evolution path for a quest. It's obnoxious and cumbersome, as well as providing the least interesting benefit of all possible benefits.
>>
>>45649958
It's not taste when it's objectively right
>>
>>45649977

That's your opinion, Let me guess you always vote for shit mage paths don't you?
>>
>>45650001
Let me guess, you're the same guy that kept trying to shove giant spider down everyone's throat back in RE:Monster, aren't you?

See, I can Ad Hominem too.
>>
>>45649996
And you're fucking dumb anon, I never mentioned taste.
>>45650012
Hell no, That was impractical at the time and probably still is.
>>
>>45650036
This is exactly as stupid as that.
>>
>>45649282
Thanks for running birdman.
>>

There's always one of those faggots. I wish you could ethnically cleanse opinion s.
>>

>This is exactly as stupid as that.
No it isn't, The anon who wanted giant spider was talking Serathis big, I'm not.
>>
>>45650063
Then you should be more specific, because I've already gotten a hatred of any harpy that is above average size for it's tier ingrained into my psyche in the last five minutes.
>>
>>45650081
I'm talking about height 7-8ft tall and about as big as Andre the giant.
>>
>>45649609
>>45649645
And goats and stuff, yeah. I agree that it is a very good tactic. Still, it kinda requires the prey to be relatively non-threatening, yet tough enough not to splatter or shatter too much. We'd want to return with our food to the safety of the to eat it, after all, and many bone slivers in the meat are possibly not much fun for a harpy to deal with.

>>45649927

Size queenery aside, when we do eventually someday evolve (which probably won't be anytime soon, and I am 100% okay with that), I hope we get wing talons or something else grasper-like. I think being able to pick stuff up without using our feet would be very handy.
>>
>>45650134
>I hope we get wing talons or something else grasper-like. I think being able to pick stuff up without using our feet would be very handy.
Agreed. Anyways I gotta get so seeya.
>>
>>45650111
I'm a little worried that starting down the path of huge at tier two could result in extreme growth at tiers three or four.
>>
>>45650134
>>45650145
More humanoid would be good.
Will our twin evolve more birdlike?
>>
>>45650165
I think it'd be hilarious if it goes in the exact opposite way. We get more birb and she gets more human.
>>
>>45650149

Remember that tier 2 evos are still generic, just more powerful and possibly-blessed.

When we get into specializations like HUEG BIRD, we'll probably get a choice like in the other RE quests. Remember, Grave was the overall hugest of the tier 3s for Lyra, and we had the option to go huger at tier 4, but we chose an evo that kept us at about the same size.
>>
>>45650395
In that case then I hope we go for LIGHTNING HARPY! For first evo at least.
>>
>>45650450

That'd require us getting a blessing from the (demi)god of lightning/thunder, and I'm not too sure how we'd get that unless we have untapped magics.
>>
I think we'd get the blessing of the god of protected considering we protected eggy and our sis.
