Deep in dark waters a behemoth stirs, cracking the foundations of the constructed prison that hid it from prying eyes.

A hurricane rages above, turning the waters tumultuous and cold. What was once a primodial and very real flesh and blood god died at your hand, quite literally. Where once acres of rippling, color-changing hid had been now were thick slabs of reinforced bone and metal, weapon mounts bristling across it's form.

Great segmented lengths of tentacle-arms as thick as small corvettes coil in wait, a metal beak at the center flexing experimentally and yawning wide enough to crush a cruiser in a single bite. Great domes of glass and banded metal protecting the trio of eye clusters resembling their smaller Eyegore cousins. Weapon mounts powerful enough to wipe cities from the surface of a planet are installed, integrating the metal and bone with the muscles and nerves.

The Beast of Rukor, once a legend and primitive god to the Ructu natives, died and has nearly been fully Reconstructed. It awaits, hidden in dark waters as the final stages of its transformation are well underway. Engines the size of frigates are hidden within it's bulk, the grandest of your current projects carrying both a Skip and Void Drive in tandem to move it's great bulk when it reaches the stars. The Think Tank at its heart integrated fully with the Beast and taking on a new name.

Soon The Fury of the Wormstar will rise from the depths and the galaxy will know true fear at the power of the New Necrotic Armada and it's commander, Lich-Lord Jadyk the Conquering Worm.

Completed Research:
>Combat Drone: Left in the planning stages the Combat Drone was intended to be a battle-field assistant and computer hacker.

>Sedation Gas: Another project left in the planning and prototype phase the Sedation Gas compound was intended to work across a broad range of species.

>Military A.I.: The Defensively oriented A.I. of the Confederate Research base was dedicated to providing security, testing, and compling the data gained from the cyborg and weapon projects undertaken by the facility.

Unlocked:
Demi-Think Tank: A spherical construct of bone and metal nearly a foot wide the Demi-Think Tanks are intended to join combat units on the front line. Meant to replace a Think Tank on the battle field the Demi-Think Tanks come with several abilities. Capable of hacking various computer systems (Confederate, Osjiic, Pirate Clan, Crystalline, etc.), taking environment samples, utilizing the NID, and providing support to your living and reconstructed forces. Acting as a battle intermediary to the Think Tanks groups of Reconstructed aided by a Demi-Think Tank are able to act more efficiently and cunning. Not completely defenseless the Demi-Think Tank possesses a pair of Necroflensers that it can also use them as a cutting tool to cut through obstacles should the need arise. Articulated finger-like manipulators allow it to interact with its environment or to access computers. Cost: 5B 5M

Sedation Gas: The chemical compound of this white gas has been modified and combined with compounds taken from the Narcotikelp plant to work on an assortment of races. Those that come in contact or inhale the compound find their aggression levels rapidly dropping with higher doses causing them to fall unconscious. The effects typically last for the better part of a day with some races recovering faster than others depending on their natural abilities. Can be dispersed from a gas-grenade or deployed with a Sabotage Pod.

Research into the Confederates outdated military A.I. revealed several intriguing finds. Concerned with defensive measures and combat situations your Think Tanks have received an upgrade to their combat capabilities.
>Think Tanks (and Demi-Think Tanks) can now interact and possibly "subdue" Confederate or other A.I.'s in the future
>Think Tanks (and Demi-Think Tanks) passively gather combat details from enemy combatants, over time gaining a greater intuitive insight to their tactics meaning your Reconstructed will fight more effectively against foes you've encountered previously.

Again, terribly sorry about the horrible delay.

Just so no one is shocked by our reduced metal supply I did accept

>Create 5 vehicle factories: 5000B 10000M

from the last thread since it had support.

What I did not do yet was scrap our current metal producers to make all those extra Omega fleets. Doing so would mean you would have no metal production for a whole three days do to recycling the large amount of diggers and excavators you currently have and then to build the new fleets.

>What I did not do yet was scrap our current metal producers to make all those extra Omega fleets. Doing so would mean you would have no metal production for a whole three days do to recycling the large amount of diggers and excavators you currently have and then to build the new fleets.
I'm fine with that. We don't really lose out on anything by keeping our current production.

Also, I'm thinking we may want to look into organizing our units into Armies.
So Assault Army (Alpha) would have like
10 Clutches of Talons
5 Squads of Cyclops
10 Pack of Trolls
etc. Rather than just going by their grouping. Also, is there a reason why you made custom squad sizes and names? I like it flavor wise, but it it would probably be a lot better to have the amount be all the same (100(0)) and keep the custom names. That way theres no confusion over exactly how many units are there.
>>
>>45687689
I think it is because, for example, one unit of Talons=/=one unit of trolls in combat prowess. some will always be used in higher quantities than others
>>
>>45687745
While that does make sense, it still is a bitch to keep in mind how many each squad type has.
>>
>>45687566
I think we all sort of came to a consensus not to scrap anything towards the end of the last thread.
>>
>>45687689
I for one prefer creating individual batches of units as the need for them arises.
>>
>>45687774
I don't find it annoying at all, I view it as both an effective means of producing cost efficient ratios of combat units, and a handy reminder of the disparity between them in battlefield effectiveness and cost.

There was much to be done.

The Deep Rot project has halted, the physical frame of the construct completed for the most part but requires your personal attention in order to activate it. This would take Jadyk out of commission for a full day as he spends time making the proper sacrifices and attuning the colossal construct to it's new purpose.

The Plainsrunners have crested the worst of the continental shelf separating the valleys and hills of the Colony's land with the plains the Osogo had roamed. It would take them only a little bit longer to reach their destination but now they can travel easier, taking longer trips to feast on their kelp and alien fruit. Red-Leaf-Strains seems taken with the Gargoyle guide, the Reconstructed no longer flying but resting perched on her shoulder or coiled up like a serpent on her back.

The Osjiic forces surrounding the spacecity were driven back as anti-ship batteries, likely retaken by the surviving Confederates in the evacuation of the Osjiic shudder to life. The Osjiic had sent dropships back to the city when they began to suspect the ruse of explosives on board, but it seemed the Confederates were not likely to easily give up their home once more.

Your Eyegore watches as the search wings, similar in size to the one that had made its appearance the day before, arrive and rejoin the Osjiic Investigatory Fleet several hours apart. A handful of the ships sported new scars, one Heavy Cruiser even transporting a captured Dagger frigate strapped against its hull like an animal carcass.

The Ahkam fleet, with the great white serpent itself coiling amidst the ships, gathers itself into ranks. Clouds of sub-light craft from the two controlled planets lift off to hide themselves within large carrier ships. The insectoid native ships ranged in size from single pilot fighters to gunships half-way between the size of a dropship and a corvette, bristling with primitive ballistic weaponry and crude blasters.

Suggested research from last thread

Crystal dampeners: using crystal energy absorption ability we create a matrix that aims inwards absorbing ambient energy so the ships do not produce void/energy signatures

Ambient crystal sponge:
A crystal sponge designed to absorb ambient living energy given of by our subjects to be stored for later use while not actively draining individuals. Low to no yields on small populations but increased yields the larger the population.

Both fleets would soon be on the move, each with their own suspicions to where their lost fleets may have fallen. Soon they would be arriving in both Horizon's Drop and the Bastion systems, if the Masked could be trusted.

Osjiic fleet comprised of:
>1 Battleship
>2 Destroyers
>3 Battlecruisers
>5 Heavy Cruisers
>2 Carrier Heavy Cruisers
>15 Frigates
>25 Corvettes
>Many many many fighters

Ahkam Fleet:

>1 Battleship
>1 Destroyers
>2 Battlecruisers
>4 Heavy Cruisers
>8 Light Cruisers
>20 Frigates

Assembling all the ideas together, I think this is the plan for getting the two fleets to start killing each other rather than us.
1. Void is used to propel the Akham Destroyer at their fleet. On it is Osjiic boasting and the co-orddinates, implying that they are so strong that they can weather any attack the Akham throw at them with ease.
2. Allow one of the Osjiic ships to 'escape' carrying news of both fleets being overwhelmed and captured by the Akham. Give garbled co-ordinates of where the Akham are likely to be travelling next. Give even more garbled infomation about the state of the ex sub-admiral.

You mean the allies that have no experience in space combat, or any proper space infrastructure beyond a few ground-based shipyards? The allies that lack any truly tested weapons technology? The allies that only have the one, very vulnerable world that still isn't completely under their control to their name and little to no anti-orbital defenses installed?

>>
>>45689210

>>
>>45689153
Yes. What better opportunity to whet their appetite for blood than participating in a fight with us doing most of the frontline fighting? They can afford to use their ships sparingly for harassing attacks while we take care of the heavy combat, allowing them to gain valuable first hand experience of true open warfare without risking high losses. If it goes poorly for them they can retreat and we can still win the battle fairly easily.

This is assuming they themselves believe they are ready for such action, of course.

You have yet to contact the Lavafather about this conflict but he knows there is something up with the activity in the systems, his corvette he sent to Horizon's Drop as a test of their Skip Drive watched the battle with the Osjiic intruders from a distance.

He has a small group of ships made, several corvettes and a cruiser sized ship he's been using to transport Obisidianborn to the other metal rich sister-moon that you haven't claimed yet either. He's established the beginnings of a base there with the aim to begin mining and construction projects. An Obsidianborn Groundborer that looked like a drill made of lava and spinning stone melted its day into the moon to begin construction.

You speak with Agona, Nekris and the Voidsinger, explaining to them your plans and their orders. Leaving instructions for the Voidknights for when they complete their ritual. Your generals, each commanding a different aspect of your Armada, salute you and repeat the mantra dedicating them to your cause before signing off to complete their tasks.

The debriefing finished and your plots set in motion you stand from your throne, the floating stone moving and setting itself down on the shell of the Deep Rot. Standing at the rim of the hole cut in the top of the field of bone and glass you look into the depths of the murky fluid that bubbles gently. Small clusters of bone and flesh accumulate briefly then break away into the raw liquid biomass that filled the Deep Rot, deep below you could see the hazy shapes of green patches of kelp swaying in the living currents.

Void Repeaters rake across the hull of the Ahkam Destroyer from the Osjiic disguised frigates, adding to the wounds caused by Lorgul and his Disciples Void-Terrors. The hull creaks and groans under the strain but holds the majority of it's integrity. A pair of the decoy Osjiic Frigates latch themselves to the sides of the Destroyer before their combined Void Drives surround all three ships with void-distorted light that rockets away into the cosmic distance.

Your spear, finally bestowed the name Kyn'tk, flows from within your ribcage and along your arm to form in your hand. Taking it's name from the ancient language of the dread Wormstar, the name of your original homeworld and the sole planet that baked under the harsh light of the Wormstars radiance. Stepping from the lip of the hole you plummet and slip below the surface of the necrotic fluid with hardly a splash.

The Osjiic corvette you'd taken captive has it's Void Drives repaired after one of your own corvettes raked its hull with it's Lightning Cannon. The unrecycled corpses of Osjiic troops are zombified with slivers of necrotic bone and stand on the battle-damaged bridge. A Demi-Think Tank, created to be a relay for the deception, floats on the bridge over the shoulder of an Osjiic that had been slain by a new Shock Trolls axe nearly cleaving it from shoulder to hip and only held together by its armor. It's Void Drive surrounds the craft with void light and it disappears as well.

The Necrolyte Legion boards the Bloat Carriers sent to retrieve them loading up the majority of their supplies but leaving a squad behind to maintain their hold on the facility. While eager to prove themselves to their comrades, themselves, and their new liege the Legion was too small and lacking the fleet to provide adequate aid to this conflict. The Voidsinger promising them that they would have their time for glory in the future, the Osjiic already looking at potential campaigns on his own volition, requesting details of the Confederate Space City operation and the Confederate mining and shipbuilding system to look over on his trip.

The lake of necrotic biomass filling the Deep Rot swirls around your body, ethereal threads of power seeping from your body as the spear Kyn'tk slithers around you like an eel. Half-formed Talons and stalkers solidify in the liquid around you before they're broken down, the biomass reacting to the surge of necrotic power you poured from your own being into the construct, it's mind slowly growing aware around you.

Hours later the Ahkam Destroyer emerges from it's travel several light-seconds away from the Ahkam and it's fleet. The Osjiic Frigates accelerating the Destroyers bulk before releasing and attempting to flee the barrage of weapons fire that answers their arrival. Voices taken from Osjiic volunteers of your Necrolytes shout and goad over the radio, taunting the Ahkam and claiming responsibility of the death of their favored daughter, challenging the cowardly worms to face true warriors as they broadcast the coordinates to the white dwarf.

The Ahkam's body surges with lightning as it dodges out of the tumbling path of the Destroyer that goes on to collide with several ships before being caught in the gravity of the planet below. The Ahkam sails with surprising speed, great flickering bolts of repeated attacks striking the decoy craft and shattering it, the other caught within its jaws tearing the engines from the ship. It detonates but the Ahkam weathers the attack, coiling away and riding the blastwave with singed scales.

It's voice cries out over the airwaves dripping with grief and fury, proclaiming vengeance against the Osjiic Empire. Rejoining it's fleet, several ships damaged by the Destroyers passing to burn up and crash on the surface of the world below, it rapidly spreads it's storm across the fleet, lightning heralding their departure.

The decoy Osjiic ship appears at the edge of the system the Investigatory fleet waited. Immediately the zombified Osjiic radio in, calling out to the fleet that responds rapidly sending a handful of ships to investigate. The Demi-Think Tank hiding out of sight, the zombified Osjiic with the least obvious of injuries opens up a communication channel.

They speak of bringing orders from Rotkir and the discovery of Estkri's location. They speak of going to Horizon's Drop and the Colonists telling them about how Estkri's fleet left after receiving news of Ahkam activity in a nearby system. They go on, explaining the Ahkam lay in wait and launched an ambush, capturing Estkri. Rotkir's fleet falling victim as well but only this Corvette managing to escape.

The Void Drive suddenly starts to spike in energy, unseen shouts from the bridge saying the damaged engine was about to detonate moments before it truly does, engulfing the ship in a ball of potent Void energy. Not even an hour later the fleet is mobilized, disappearing in waves in the distance surrounded in void light.

The Deep Rot grows in power around you, drinking from the ocean of power you held within you and learning from it's Think Tank parents accumulated knowledge. It's mind reaches across the Eyegores, looking out across the stars with newfound wonder and curiosity. Eels swim in the necrotic fluid, fully formed and stable created from the template of the rukorian eel. Crystals form in clusters through the Deep Rot, growing larger and more complex with each hour.

Truly, your machinations were in motion with no chance of halting. The bait has been cast and the beasts of the enemy fleets seeming to take it. Only time will tell if your plans will unfold correctly.

I don't mind warring with the sunscale and the ahkam directly but I'd rather not make everyone our enemies. And it wouldn't be unreasonable to make the Osjiic and Confederates tentative trading partners or at least not direct enemies.

The Ahkam are the first to appear, their storm appearing in the void between worlds and belching forth the serpent and her armies. They arrive with weapons ready and eager but find the system abandoned. There is confusion in the Ahkams voice as she calls out through the system, challenging the Osjiic with only the Eyegore and the Necrolytes left behind to hear her.

The Ahkam forces do not have long to way before the first of the Osjiic fleet arrives further in the system with the sun against their back but still withing combat distance. Flashes of light signal the arrival of the rest of the ships, the Ahkam and the first arrivals already launching their first attacks as they rapidly close the distance. Carrier ships on both sides release swarms of fighters that race in the wake of railgun slugs and missile contrails.

Fighter craft are obliterated as passing slugs and missiles strike them before smashing against the shields of the larger ships. Void-powered weaponry trades with bolts of powerful lightning striking and smashing through shields to char then break their hulls. The fighters smash into each other, blasters and ballistic weaponry filling the void with metal and light and explosions. The Ahkam insectoid fighters using miniature grapnels to tear Osjiic ships apart or hold them still for the rotary cannons of the teardrop fighters.

Agona and Nekris watch over the battle intently but it was Agona that realized the Osjiic fleet was not all accounted for. Her worries are cemented when alarms sound within Horizon's Drop as a Battlecruiser flanked with a pair of Heavy Cruisers and several Corvettes appear in orbit over Horizon's Drop. Immediately weapons from the picket fleet turn on them, the pair of Terrordromes in rest over the New Necrotic Armada's homeworld leaping to its defense.

Horizon's Drop is under attack!

Even deep in the midst of giving the Deep Rot a portion of your power you can feel Agona's rage. Rage at the impudence of the Osjiic for arriving and deciding to attack the homeworld of her Armada but her rage is tempered with excitement. Truly she gets to see her defenses tested and lead the defense in person.

The Osjiic battlecruiser angles itself towards the Colony below where Jor and the Colonists look up at the sky where flashes appeared in the evening sky among the stars. Red-Leaf-Strains and her herd family stop preparing themselves for the night and watch with wide yes, the Gargoyle hissing angrily as it gazes skyward as well.

From on the bridge of the Battleship, the latest off he moon based shipyards, she commands it to fire its colossal spine cannon hull guns sending slugs of dense metal and bone crackling with necrotic energy tearing across the void. The Ahkam Battlecruiser charges its hullmounted railguns aiming at the Colony a split second before Agona's volley strike across their bow and physically rotating the ship as it fires. A trip of glowing orbs speed through the atmosphere before detonating against the southern part of the content with the force of several atomic warheads, the dark skies of Horizon's Drop brightening as the coastline is rapidly rearranged.

Terrordromes unleash their full fury against the Osjiic ships as Necrotic sub-capitols swarm them with Nails tearing at their hides like a swarm of piranha. The Osjiic attackers quickly try to retreat in the face of such overwhelming odds but Agona's rage demands they stay behind. Another salvo of necrotically charged hull cannons shatters one of the Heavy Cruisers as Punisher Agona infuses the weapons with her own power.

Support Coffins swarm the Battlecruiser, tearing open holes to belch forth their cargos of shouting and frenzied Trolls and Shock Troops. The berserker trolls swarm into battle, slicing through the Osjiic with merciless fury. The skies of Horizon's Drop glow with the wreckage of the destroyed Osjiic ships entering the atmosphere to rain down as fire and molten metal.

The Lavafathers corvette watches from it's orbit over the moon, the Obsidianborn on board regretting that it could not join the conflict but enjoying the demonstration nonetheless.

Soon all but the Battlecruiser remained undestroyed, it's engines crippled and barely holding it aloft before capitol ships snatch hold of it with their powerful tractor beams. Agona joins the boarding forces herself, storming through the hallways that crumple under her heavy steps. Osjiic defenders reduced to greasy smears against the walls as she marches her way to the bridge.

A blow of her void-weighter morningstar breaks down the doorway to the bridge, her shield blocking the weapons fire from within. She marches forth into the hail of bullets, her personal guard of shield toting trolls following in behind. Taking the bridge of brutal but short, the commanding officer of the ship attacking Agona but she quickly subdues him by breaking both knees with a blow of her weapon then smashing his already squashed nose even flatter.

Punisher Agona would suffer no one to sully her Armada's homeworld, the first true home the Reconstructed has known.

The Osjiic and Ahkam fleets tear into each other, filling the system with even more scrap from destroyed ships. The Ahkam chases after a frigate into the crossfire of several cruisers but the corvettes and frigates following defend against the missiles and attacks aimed at their God. Lightning arcs from its opened mouth, shattering the shield of a frigate and stalling it's engines. The Ahkam moves to strike with fangs like spears when it recoils at the sight of the Battleships releasing two fighters that glow with Void energy.

The serpent changes it's target along with several of it's fleet aiming for the pair of fighters that twist and dance around the attacks aimed for them. A missile strikes but is deflected by a pulse of void light and the blasts of paired void-repeaters leap out to shatter fighters and sub-light gunships with single strikes.

The fighters were compact one-man craft but they were ablaze with void energy, the pair of void-repeaters quickly charged up to power beams of light that rip across hulls leaving gaping breaches in their wake. Each fighter carried a missile as large as their ship below, curving wings carrying pods for highly damaging swarm missiles with Void warheads. The pair of fighters carve a path through the Ahakm forces moving to cover the retreat of the great serpent.

A fighter twists through the air before it's missile ignites it's thruster and separates to race ahead. To the surprise of your forces watching the battle the missile possessed void-deflectors as well, turning away weapons fire that attempted to stop it. A light cruiser accelerates into it's path, sacrificing itself as the other ships tried their best to flee.

There was a moment's delay and then a nova of Void light erupts, engulfing the cruiser and several Ahkam ships in a ball of destructive void energy. The explosion radiates out, then rapidly compresses to a pinprick of light that draws in broken and injured ships toward itself before the dot of Void-light explodes once more into an even larger explosion.

Ahkam forces start to shout over the airwaves, fear-filled voices shouting about the Deathshead Guardians and Nova-Voids. The Ahkam itself flees behind it's forces, several of it's wings broken and it's armor alight from patches of lingering void flames. The Ahkam fleet begins to fall back toward the great serpent as the Deathshead fighters press their attack with the Osjiic fleet following close behind.

The two fighters spin together, their void-repeaters firing a quartet of powerful beams that strike through Ahkam sub-light craft to converge on the throat of the Ahkam. The serpent recoils from the blow, the transport storm dissipating as the battle relaunches in ferocity.

The Ahkam and Osjiic continue their bloody battle with losses mounting quickly on either side.

Do Agona or Nekris decide to interfere or allow them to continue their vicious battle?

Deep under the surface of Horizon's Drops moon the ritual of void energy and profane might concludes. To the pleasure of Lorgul all five of the selected subjects survived, the group passed out in the midst of the ritual circle. A flicker of Voidflame burns at their cores, the flesh slowly starting to dissolve around it as their body adjusts to the potent energies beginning to course through them. They are gathered by reconstructed and carried to stone slabs to await their awakening.

Agona and Nekris both contact the Voidknight, the eldest of the three generals, and quickly explain recent events. The Voidknight is nearly giddy with excitement as he realizes what his "siblings" were suggesting. Before they can even ask the Revenant Lorgul shouts at his Disciples, telling them to prepare for combat and Agona laughs at his eagerness.

The Ahkam and Osjiic fight a vicious battle that leaves many dead and many ships crippled and unmoving. A blue-scaled ahkam juvenile flees their destroyed battlecruiser for the allied destroyer, Osjiic fighters attempting to pursue but broken by a blast from the protective mother.

Your Eyegore quivers with excitement, watching as the lights from your fleets Skip Drives signal their arrival within the system. Nearly the full force of your Armada arrive within the system, each General leading a flight of ships that surround the brutal battle.

It was Agona that announced their presence over the airwaves, her voice harsh and determined, "Attention Osjiic and Ahkam combatant. You are intruding on the territory of the New Necrotic Armada. Surrender yourselves immediately or suffer enslavement and annihilation."

A heavy cruiser fires at the Necrotic ships, the void-repeater blasts curving unnaturally to strike the large Glutton Sphere, the crystal core illuminated briefly as it drinks in the energy. Agona's voice carries over the airwaves once more, "So be it. Hail the Conquering Worm and Glory to the New Necrotic Armada!"

There was a tense moment of inactivity as the fleets await for the others to make the first move.

It was surprisingly Nekris who does, his Battlecruiser launching forward unleashing his fighters as he charges the crafts main hull cannons with necrotic energy. Lorgul and Agona were quick to follow his lead, their own flights unleashing their attacks.

The Osjiic and Ahkam are caught in the cross-fire, their ships detonating one after another as the overwhelming firepower from the much large fleet descends upon them. Revenant Lorgul and his Voidknight Disciples dance a deadly melee with the Deathshead Guardian ships, their Void-Terrors dueling with the nimble craft. Nails dive into the midst of the still dueling fleets, their flayers and flensers carving bloody paths through the insectoid and osjiic winged fighters, pin and needle missiles rocking sub-capitols in their passing.

Punisher Agona's battleship trades fire with the Osjiic's, the two massive ships trying to break down the others shields but the reinforced shields gained from the Armatocere hold up longer. Chain-flenser turrets making the Osjiics flicker away leaving it exposed for the Support Coffins to leap out across the void, dogging weapons fire as they once more attempt to pry their way into the command ship of the Osjiic forces.

Large Glutton Spheres drink deep as they're spread throughout the fleets, draining the Void and Arc powered attacks of the now defending fleets. The Ahkam, enraged at the interference, attempts to blast Nekris' Battlecruiser but their attack curves to strike the large sphere of metal banded crystal. Annoyed and alarmed it attacks once more, this time maintaining it's attack. Ignoring the weaponsfire that riddle it's armored hide it pours its attack at the glutton sphere until the metal glows red hot, the crystal cracking before going dead and drifting.

Several Osjiic ships try to flee but they are halted by Piercing Nails and corvettes, torn apart or their engines crippled. Punisher Agona concentrates on commanding the battle, ordering wings of Nails and groups of sub-capitols into position. Many ships are destroyed by her commands and several more crippled.

Predator Nekris guides his ships in fast attacks against the Ahkam, ships racing past in order not to allow the Ahkam time to track them. Missiles detonate in their wake and chain-flensers shattering shielding. Fast, nearly suicidal corvettes fly alongside the Ahkam destroyer, their newly crafted Plasma Wave turrets vaporizing entire sections of their hull, atmosphere trailing behind in white crystallizing clouds mixed with unfortunate crew members sucked into the void. The Destroyer cracks then begins to detonate, a green-scaled Ahkam managing to slither out to avoid the majority of the blast but still greatly injured as it floats bleeding in the void.

Revenant Lorgul and his Disciples dueling with the remaining Deathshead Guardian, the others ship crippled by concentrated fire from the Void-Terrors. The canopy of the crippled ship ejecting as the flaming Osjiic skeleton in sophisticated armor leaps into the void, propelled under his own power. Several Nails try to intercept but they are shattered with blasts rivaling the ship-mounted void screamers as it zooms toward the battleship quickly losing to Agona's ship. One of the Disciples notices it's attempted escape and begins to chase after it firing it's necro and chain-flensers.

The remaining Deathshead Guardian angles its ship down towards the rocky planet in the distance, void-light trailing behind it as it races away from the battle with Lorgul and one of his Disciples in full pursuit.

Your other Battleship and a pair of Destroyers close in after the Ahkam serpent itself, Glutton Spheres drinking it's lightning along with those blasted from defensive ships surrounding it. Missile explosions bloom across the Ahkam's hide sending white scales and pale blue blood into the void. Large jaw latch down on a corvette that draws too near and shatter it's hull but to its surprise and the surprise of your own Generals a handful of Shock Trolls tears themselves free of the wreckage and launch themselves at the Ahkam itself. The scaled matriach recoils as the berserking trolls use their bladed armor and axes to carve footholds for themselves in it's face and neck doing their best to inflict as much damage as they could.

Even their own natural electric abilities could not defend them from the Ahkam's defense of charging it's body with it's own breath attack, lightning arcing along its body to fry the trolls but the damage and distraction were complete. A salvo of weapons fire from the capitol ships closing in on it shatter it's defensive guard and score heavy wounds against the beast. It flails and screams across the air waves. Its body flashes with lightning before it suddenly disappears with a bright flash along iwth the nearest of it's fleet. The Ahkam abandoning it's children and worshipers to escape the onslaught causing a ripple through the Ahkam fleets. The other capitol ships still intact attempt to flee but their ships are swarmed by Nekris and his boarding parties.

As Lorgul pursues the Deathshead Guardian suddenly cuts it's engines and flips the craft around letting momentum carry it as it fires back at the two Void-Terrors. The large Void-Nova Missile ignites it's thrusters and flies past Lorgul and the Disciple, watching as it arcs for Nekris' forces in the thick of the Ahkam fleet.

Cursing in annoyance Lorgul spins his craft around at speeds that would've made a living being vomit from motion sickness. Void engines burn bright as he chases after the missile aimed for his brothers ships leaving his Disciple in pursuit of the Guardian. Void-screamers leap across the gap to strike the missile but void-deflectors shield against the attack though the thrusters do seem to flicker uncertainly and cause it to stutter.

The Voidknight races his ship to it's limits chasing the missile and blasting it with void beams trying to slow it down. Nekris' battlecruiser looms in the rapidly approaching distance, his ships tractor beam securing the injured green scaled Ahkam, the mate of the Ahkam matriarch, and fending off attacking sub-light craft.

The missile jerks and the thrusters flicker but it keeps true to its course aimed for the Ahkam and Necrotic fleets in conflict with each other but Lorgul doggedly persists until his ship was mere meters from the missile only slightly smaller than his own ship. Unable to destroy the Void-Nova he does the next best thing.

The front end of his Void-Terror blossoms open and ejects him the few meters and his claws tear through the void-deflector and sink into the shell of the missile. Grasping the Reaver Staff he'd made before departing in his fist he plunges the point into the missile as he rides it through the void. His flames rippling then flaring wildly as he drains the potent weapon of its energy. What felt like enough Void-infused bone power to make three full Osjiic has it's potent energy sapped by the Voidknight. Silently he screams out to the cosmos as he drinks in and drains the missile of its destructive potential and adding it to his own.

Turning to search for his Disciple he beams with pride as he catches the last moments of the Deathshead Guardians ship, broken and crippled, is captured by the rocky planets gravity and begins to burn up in reentry. The Void-terror of the Disciple flipping around, one of it's void-screamer mounts a smoking ruin, and limping back to join the wider conflict.

Only to find that most of the battle had been resolved, the crippled and disabled ships of the Ahkam and Osjiic floating free swarmed with coffins and sub-capitols unleashing their boarding parties against them.

Space Battle over!

As boarding ships attempted to board one of the Ahkam capitol ships, the same one that had rescued one of the juveniles, manages to charge it's storm drive, clouds billowing out to barely cover the battlecruiser and several fighters before disappearing like the Ahkam matriarch in a desperate attempt to flee.

The remaining Osjiic and Ahkam craft are flooded with boarding parties after cutting their way into the hulls. Flatbody Gargoyles and Looms spread throughout the ships ahead of their deadly kin. Talons and Stalkers bound through hallways, filling the air with flechettes and blaster fire as they swarm over defenses. Stingers march with steadfast determination and a level-headedness missing in many of their Reconstructed comrades.

Tyrre berserkers clash with Shock Trolls, the repto-mammalians thrown off-guard by the deadly warriors at first but gladly fighting them. Epikor and Kosda soldiers trade fire with Stingers and Trolls as they hold corridors only to be thrown into chaos as Looms and Shadows attack from behind emerging from ventilation ducts and access panels in the walls.

Osjiic Voidsingers lift entire groups of reconstructed off their feet leaving them easy targets for hails of bullets that rip through their dry bodies and crumble them to dust. A Disciple duels with a Voidsinger, their void-weighted hammers smashing against their void-infused shield until the Voidsinger manages to disarm the Disciple of their hammer. Rearing back for a final blow the Voidsinger suddenly grunts, coughing up dark blood as it looks down at the point of the Reaver Staff emerging from their chest, the other Disciple behind it and draining their power.

Punisher Agona boards the Osjiic battleship and joined by Lorgul, the pair of generals fighting their way through the corridors and halls. Soldiers fall before them, Reconstructed spurred on by their presence surging forth like an undead tide.

Predator Nekris secures the injured and dazed Ahkam male against his Battlecruiser under heavy guard before departing to board the last of the Ahkam capitols himself. His Alpha Stalker joins him, the unique reconstructed eager for conflict once more. Stalking through the corridors he leads his forces with swords and Reaver Staff in hand.

The fighting was bloody and brutal, the defenders giving back just hard as they were attacked. These were no simple, green recruits but hardened military veterans that had lived most of their lives only knowing war and the whims of their superiors.

Nekris and his forces cut their way through the assorted races, the unknown insectoids throwing themselves recklessly at them only to be slaughtered against the deadly attackers. Flanked by Shock Trolls and a Glutton Sphere following close the blasts from Ahkam Lightning guns harmless against the dark-shelled general.

Soon Agona and Lorgul were knocking at the very door of bridge with the Disciples joining them shortly, their hammer and maul causing large dents in the metal and plasteel until they crumple and fold. There was a blast of voidflames aimed at the doors but the Glutton Sphere orbiting Lorgul drinks in the flame harmlessly and letting the Voidknight drain the energy for himself as he gazed toward the bridge.

The Deathshead Guardian stood there, void-weighted hammers in each hand as their fleshless skull gazes at them engulfed in ultraviolet flames. Lorgul scoffs as he and his Disciples stride forth, "I am Revenant Lorgul of the Voidknight Order. The flames of Voidlord Ghul shroud my bones as they do yours. Let us see which of us is the worthy one."

He launches forward to attack the large skeleton but finds himself surprised by their nimble speed and reflexes, hammers crashing against his armor and maul as he swings it after them. The Disciples let their creator and lord fight the Guardian one on one but Agona has no such reservations.

Marching forward she deflects the weaponsfire from the crew still defending the room with her shield. Her morningstar crushes several defenders into messy craters as she and her trolls guards begin the bloody process of clearing yet another starship bridge.

Lorgul and the Deathshead fight with frantic speed and zealotry, their blows booming loudly in the enclosed space and the power causing the floor to warp and crack ominously below their feet. Shouts from the general ring out in contrast to the silent reservation of the Osjiic undead, their weapons blunting and warping under their furious battle.

Finally Lorgul's body flares intensely with Void-light, flames leaping from his armor and bones. His movements visibly speed up, moving the heavy maul that would take several Talons to move all by himself. The weapon spins rapidly, knocking the hammer from one hand before the maul is whipped around overhead. The blow connects, smashing the Deathshead into a crater shaped nearly comically like the Guardian itself.

Nekris and his troops carve their way to the bridge, another large hall full of Ahkam soldiers in between him and his prize. There were less troops than he expected and even then the defenders were not full of the same zeal as they once had possessed. Now they fight to survive with betrayed panicked eyes watching the eyeless undead marching their way.

Perhaps abandonment by your god would do that to an army but the Ahkam soldiers square their shoulders and launch themselves into the defense even as the doors crack then open to unleashed a surge of ahkam elite soldiers. Lightning guns made all but useless by the Shock Trolls and the Glutton Spheres floating at the front lines.

Nekris moves with electric speed as he duels with several elite Tyrre, his blades and Reaver Staff dropping them quickly until there was a scream of rage and static charges the air. A bolt of lightning rakes across where Nekris had been moments before and fries and unlucky Tyrre caught in the crossfire. A blue-scaled Ahkam slithers forward, hood flare and bladed tail lashing in a fury.

The Ahkam screams its wordless challenge at the nimble undead as lightning crackles along its body. This time Nekris was prepared and his vicious mandibles twist into a cruel smile. A pair of Glutton Spheres float close to him, held by his latent telekinesis as he leaps for the Ahkam. A pair of shardspitters held in his lesser hands fire their necrotically charged flechettes at the serpent, sword and Reaver staff grasped in his main.

In the low gravity of the ship Nekris bounds from all to wall, once even kicking off the ceiling to avoid the crackling blades of the Ahkams tail. Glutton Spheres drink deep of Ahkam blasts, the metal bands starting to grow warm and bright with each blast they absorbed. As the Predator and Serpent dueled Reconstructed surge around them and charge for the bridge with a hungry bloodlust.

>>45696472
It was a troll, a simple shield and axe troll, that lead to Nekris finding a flaw in the Ahkams defense. The troll was rushing past when a coil of the Ahkams body falls in front of it as the snake dodges a slash of Nekris' sword, eyes flinching from the flechettes sprayed at its face.

The troll rears back dropping its shield to hold the axe with both hands and brings the thermal vibro-blade down to cut deep into its hide. The Ahkam screams at the unexpected attack, his head snapping down to snatch up the troll, sword-like fangs punching through the troll that struggles for a moment before its mind goes blank.

That was all Nekris needed, rebounding off the ceiling to plunge the points of both sword and Reaver Staff into the base of its neck. Predator and Serpent collapse to the ground, the Ahkam flailing and twitching as Nekris' cackling voice fills the large hallway.

Lightning arcs around them, one of the Glutton Spheres popping and crackling like a burnt light-bulb but Nekris drinks deep of the creatures power. Without Jadyk there to stop him Nekris uses the newly gained Reaver Staff to drain the juvenile ahkam of it's Arc-based powers and feels them flood into his being.

The Ahkam troops go silent, even the rowdy Tyrre dropping their weapons as they watch their demi-god slain and drained by a psychotic undead.

Across the fleets your forces subdue or outright slay the occupants of the ships until all either lay dead or captured before your Generals. There was much loss on both sides but your soldiers persisted, overwhelming them with significant numbers and the potent capabilities of the Generals.

Truly you think to yourself those three are the greatest of your creations, watching them from a chrysalis of necrotic crystal at the heart of the Deep Rot light-years away.

Hard-Fought Victory!

I figured with Jadyk needed to kickstart the Deep Rot this would be the perfect chance to show off the capabilities of the Generals.

>>45696542
And with that I must stop here before I pass out.

I hope folks had fun, I know I did very much. These big battles were a long time coming and I hope they lived up to the expectations.

Hopefully the thread is still up tomorrow so we can calculate our loot and our total losses and captives. Or we'll start off the next thread with that.

I'll be up a little bit longer until I finally fall asleep if anyone still around has any questions for me.

Thanks for running man, this one has really kept me on the edge of my seat. You can rest assured that they most definitely lived up to expectations.

How much longer will Jadyk be occupied with Deep Rot? And this entire fight took place in the system we encountered the wraith in, right? What are the odds that they were watching the fight?
>>
>>45696638
He's basically finished and was watching the conflict the entire time but let the generals handle it. That's why there were some decisions they made that Jadyk wouldn't have, like launching Lorgul liek a torpedo or Agona officially announcing the existence of the Armada.

And yes it was in the system the Wraith as in and uncertain. There has been no sign of the Wraith but they are fully capable of complete stealth from what Jadyk can remember.

The Lavafather, his obsidianborn, stonestar populations, and the colonists were all watching the conflicts courtesy of Jor's idea to livestream it all

I knew making Jor our right hand man was great idea.

Capitol idea, anon. Depending on how the necrotic infusion of the living experiments went, we should give him a staff and perhaps a book of Wormstar, so he may better learn how to wield his newfound powers and pass them on amongst the living.
>>
>>45696681
>That's why there were some decisions they made that Jadyk wouldn't have, like launching Lorgul liek a torpedo
But Graves, that is entirely what Jadyk would do, and has done on certain equations in the past. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if Lorgul got that idea from Nekris' recounting of his fishing trip with Jadyk over a sampler set from Buddy's neighborhood drug and liquor store.

It takes quite some time for the Reconstructed forces to pick over the captured ships and the wrecks floating through the system and adding to the metals already floating between worlds but eventually the Think Tanks compile a list of captives, resources gained and research possibilities. A large amount of the surviving Ahkam forces surrendered or let themselves be captured without a fight after the Ahkam had been wounded and left

Captured:
>125 Osjiic
>5 Voidsingers
>230 Ahkam forces

Resources:
>5350B
>14800M

There remains a great deal of free-floating metal from the ancient battle that had waged in the system to be claimed in time.

Research:
>Esat Dissection: Fast (the insectile race that the Ahkam used for cannon fodder)
>Esat Fighters and Gunships: Medium
>Deathshead Guardian Fighter: Medium
>Void-Nova bomb: Slow
>Storm Gate: Slow
>Osjiic Capitol Mimicry: Medium

>>

>>
>>45705039
No, no this hasn't been too easy at all Graves. We go into most big fights with larger numbers than our foes, and we've been relatively lucky with our rolls so far. And despite that the action you've been narrating has been pulse-poundingly intense anyway, so I'd say what you've got going on is just perfect.
>>
>>45705039
Just a quick question, but how will Deep Rot affect research times? It seems like it is more brainy than the standard think-tanks by orders of magnitude.
>>
>>45705039
Someone needs to die. That will strike fear in to our hearts.

Or

The Akham know where we are
They will come. Over and over they will come
>>
>>45705039
How big can we pump up those glutton spheres? I'm thinking on having a really, really big one being able to interface with the terrordomes.
>>
>>45705206
It's actually going to be focused on controlling the massive amounts of troops you are creating. The Think Tanks will still be your main Researchers and "computers" with the Demi-TTs becoming the portable drone versions.

This will free up the Think Tanks to focus more fully on research instead of troop control meaning research will be safer and faster

Also don't think I forgot about that Nat 1 for the Combo FTL engine. There will be repercussions, oh yes
>>
>>45705335

>>
>>45705335

>>
>>45705335
If you want to get us scared you need to give us a reason that encourages paranoia among anons

So far we been getting a steady supply of Intel without using stealth with the eye-gores and out maneuvering our rivals pretty easy

Start having random event like our eye-gores getting caught or hit and run attacks on our fleets to make us feel pressured

Every time we table a rivals fleet or get away with spying or covert op just makes us feel safer
>>
>>45706061
Good points
>>
I would consider up until now to have been the tutorial level we introduced our heros and they have each had a chance to shine, out capital has been set up and we are now introduced to the galactic level

It's only been easy because no one has been aiming directly at us and we have been clearing up battles of already wounded foes or those already Locked in combat

Should be interesting when that starts happening to us.
And grave, as QM your job is to sow misery in our ranks and watch us glut upon that suffering.

Also new concept for the crystal sponges

Crystal sponge matrix:
Design a large glutton sphere is interstates with a matrix of lesser spheres so as on overheats it directs to the next in the chain allowing the over heated sponge to dump it's reserves and cool down

still only able to attune to one energy at a time and changing the energy type has an increased time as each sponge in the matrix must be realigned one at a time down the chain
>>
>>45707103
>>45707606

The tutorial level should have ended after we conquered our capital system

And also you may want to limit our tech research now to make sure we don't become to overpowered compared to our rivals, start putting more focus on diplomacy, grand level strategy and other things that come with along ruling an empire
>>
>>45708058
Actually there is no way we can be over powered. Because the last enemy we must fight is the masked.
>>
>>45708362
Did you ever play in AI quest?

Nearly all Fleets battle ended the moment we hacked through the firewall

The QM had to keep escalating the tech of the main enemy just to keep up pressure on us and it showed in the writing

If we end up having to much tech advantage then any fight with (Osjic, Arkham, Sunscales, Confeds etc) will be just boring and lead us cleaning up the map

I mean the crystal tech just let us shut down the special abilities of the Os's and Arkham, Its awesome the first time around but will get boring if that keeps continuing
>>
>>45708519
Then the masked give them an advantage
>>
>>45708744
Again having GQM using Dues Ex Machina to fix a faction just leads to bad writing,

We somehow find a way to out tech that and then GQM will need to do that again and again

It leads to viscous cycle that causes boredom
>>
>>45708836
Then the gods show up and throw planets at us
>>
>>45709299
Well we're steadily developing the tech needed throw planets back at them, so hopefully that isn't a battle we wouldn't automatically lose.
>>
>>45707606
>And grave, as QM your job is to sow misery in our ranks and watch us glut upon that suffering.
Look, joking aside, this is not something I generally consider an attribute of a good QM. Paranoia and happenings, sure, but full on despair would really turn me off in a quest.
>>
>>45709984
There's no real triumph without strife
Yes it was largely for humor but if we feel no fear of loss in any endeavour then the victories are hollow

>>45708836
Considering we have yet to kill an arkham and the amoroctor.. Spelling, plant people mentioned how they offhandedly killed on I can take a vague guess and say the arkham an osjiic are not representative of truly powerful races no matter how advance out tech gets there is enough magi tech to work around it

For instance we can deflect void and lightning damage but I bet the sponges do diddly against regular non magical attacks or mixed energy attacks as we can only choose one type

Truthfully I think the is doing great I look forward to our first defeat, (sub scale know what we are and have had a lot if time to prepare to curb stomp us) and our inevitable rise from the ashes

>>45710611
Not to mention these other potential enemies:
>Sunscale: It is literally their religion to kill undead and they helped kill our buddy Ghul and possibly helped kill the Wormstar
>Crystals: Another anti-necrotic race they can drain our energy as a natural ability
>The Netu pirates: they spoke of how it was their fleet that helped turn back the tide of the original undead armada
>Wasps: only heard vague stories so far but they seem to be allied with the sunscale and crystals if I remember right
>Confederates: who knows what kind of tricks they'll have

Possible enemies:
>Akka-Tor: Don't know her intentions at all
>Armatocere: They seem to be the big race we don't want to piss off right now

I wonder if we could sway the dagger fleets to our cause

If we point out they where used to stop us and betrayed for their hard work

Besides it seems the new necrotic armada is more, Eco friendly with a general work Motto of freedom through service and less "harvest your world"

Also random idea what if we implant te living arkham with tons of shards and hook ten up in a harness covered in crystal sponge scepters and make them into living batteries

Also retreading the whole quest does anyone else feel like the people who post in thread are playing as the think tanks with loose influence on Jaydk
>>
>the fruits of our collective labors, our patience, our great plans and luck bring forth overwhelming victory

Speak for yourself, faggots. This quest hasn't been even slightly boring, especially these last battles. We work, we plan, we machinate and then see the results of our work. It is very satisfying.

It would have been boring if we curbstombed without ever trying.
>>
>>45717474
I'm going to have to side with this anon.

While things certainly haven't been especially difficult, that's because we've been making really smart choices (such as staying mostly concealed) and because we've had a great run of luck when it really mattered.

I think now that we aren't going to get the overpowering jump on our enemies much more things will be a bit more difficult. But I definitely am happy with how things have gone so far, we've worked hard for our victories and I think foolish decisions or a run of bad luck could have totally changed things. So I'd caution against just making things more difficult.

Fucking this. I can't for the life of me figure out why everyone else keeps saying this has been too easy. Our battles went well because we prepared for them and our enemies never expected us, and we still bled during our battles with them. Our characters have nearly died (permanently) multiple times when we've rolled permanently, unless you want Jyoti dropping rocks on us the instant we roll single digits for a regular action. I still remember how that turned out for his characters in Red Throat Civ, and I can tell you it's not satisfying to watch.

We should give more ships to the Legion and send them off on some missions.

Also we need to swap out the soldiers in the hunting outposts to the Legion and have our new captives start doing menial labor stuff as prep for their eventual conversion.

Maybe have the Ahkam soldiers build hurricane walls, buildings, boats, and farms for the ructu

Ghouls when?

We also need redundancy. If horizon is lost we need a backup in place so we don't completely die.

One idea I had was to further research the glutton spheres to be able to absorb light, with that we could completely hide a planet or dreadnought class ship

When someone or something is infused with void flame they eventually become nothing but bone.

We can already make void infused bone, that what we use in our void drives.

So what would happen if we used void bone to make a reconstructed?

Could we just make void Knights?

Another idea, we could use glutton spheres as regulators in the combination void/skip drives
Too much void bild up, sphere activities and sucks it up

It should make the research much safer but likely slow it down a lot

It would also be wise to make the dangerous research station be in a system of its own. Nothing else there

Only Void Knights can make Void Knights I think. Or they have to be void powered living beings before.

Void infused bone would likely just make voidy Reconstructed

Random idea how about we have schools opened with think tanks as the teachers. Our citizens are allowed to learn what ever they want all classes are started with the national anthem (worm song hymn)

Maybe make a drive among the citizens pointing out how the osjiic just tried to wipe them out no questions asked and that by learning the worm song language and helping the armada they can help create a future for their families

Also regarding the child we marked. Can we give him a toy sized scepter and assign a think tank to the parents, maybe imply to them that their son is destined for greatness and so shall be provided for.

I had a thought where what if Jaydk does a hog father style holiday on the anniversary of his emergence and distributes cauldron made gifts to the populace

Gotta play that propaga

Idea for. New unit similar to the crit crawler. Not sure on a name yet

But essentially it's a crawler with a military ai and responder transmitter attached it latches onto a ship tunes in and Jen activate starts fiing all their communications with garbleded nonsense as it starts mimicking the voices it hears on the radio repeating words it heard used in random orders, or repaying what was just said with conflicting information as it "sings" to the ship it is attached too or it can go full creepy mode where it scres am laughs over any Chanel being used on board speaking with many voices at once ect just being a general pest

Basicly doing what ever it can to lower enemy moral/combat efficiency and rendering their communications pointless
>>
>>45722319
>Also we need to swap out the soldiers in the hunting outposts to the Legion and have our new captives start doing menial labor stuff as prep for their eventual conversion.

Listen, I was the one who originally suggested that we fold the herds and hunting outposts. Can we at least remove them from the stat page? Downsize them so that they just feed the captives and the colony without giving us any tribute. The turn report is cluttered as is, we need to remove as much as we can from it.
If people would agree, the lichen farms should be removed as well. Perhaps keep them to feed stonestars (that's why we have them, right?) just remove the tribute to us.
>>
>>45735243
What about just changing how they are listed to just being a "tribute" income
That way if we have multiple worlds with similar series they just add to the one pooled income as opposed to listing each individual source for the same thing under different names?
>>
>>45735308
That's not a bad idea but then we would be little different from Ahkam.
When we can easily produce massive amounts of biomass for little cost why subjugate and force other people to pay tribute to us?
It would be much better if we manage to have immensely loyal subjects out of their free will like Jor (doesn't mean we wont put spikes in them just as a precaution).
Imagine. A civilization of Jors.

Point is, we will gain little and gather spite and unrest against us. It will be easier for our enemies to turn our worlds against us from within. Imagine, if Sunscale try to start a revolt on one of our worlds in the name of "freedom" and "justice", and people don't answer to them because being under NNA is so much better than any alternatives.
>>
So this last battle, the sunscale race, the crystal monolith and the crystal sponges made me think.
Sooner or later we will meet an adversary that will be our bane. An enemy which will be specialized and have all bonuses and resistances imaginable against necrotic beings. Someone against whom our attacks do nothing and to whom out defenses are tissue paper.
And we might meet them sooner than we think.

So this got me thinking, we should develop wide range of weapons and different types of each ship we have. Necrotic Ships, Void Ships, Lightning Ships, Mundane mass-drives and missiles ships, Thermal (lasers) Ships, etc. The reactors and engines should also be of wide variety (void, necrotic, etc).
We should question our minions and captives what kind of tech Confederacy uses and replicate it.

Our fleets will either be a mix of all, or we could have specialized fleets. I doubt putting all reactor and weapon types on each ship if feasible.

We should also find ways to improve our armor. I think lavafather and plantbros could help us there. Sunscale ships seem to have no to little shields and have awesome armor.
>>
>>45735401
We'll yeah but not a tribute to that event more like "to pay off the debt of the defeated you need to pay x amount if biomass (like a low number it's just something for then to work towards as it's a negligible for us and we can probably just use it to feed other planets or set up a food trade industry, in case natural disasters lead to another rukor situation

It's more to give the recently defeated an objective in life, something metal to focus as they acclimatise to their new rulers was of life then to pay any real cost. Hell we could set fishing outposts on rukor and use it as an r&r location for our living troops to build moral after being stuck on duty at the ass end of no where
>>
>>45735560
This is partly why we are building the necrolyte legions so should something come along that negates us we have a backup group
>>
>>45735755
>It's more to give the recently defeated an objective in life, something metal to focus as they acclimatise to their new rulers was of life then to pay any real cost.

Ah, I see. Nominal amount of 'tribute', so that they don't sit around with nothing to do?

>>45735769
Problem is, that they use necrotic based weapons and tech. They are barely different from our regular troops.
>>
>>45735796
Think like prisons, bored prisoners are a dangerous thing as they figure they have nothing to lose. But add work programs and things that mean when they leave they have a future and they become much easier to manage
>>
>>45735840
Okay, that makes sense.
Then, you're right, we should have just encompassing 'tribute' category for current and future income.
>>
>>45735243
The lichen farms are important to keep as a seperate stat because they are the sole means of producing biomass outside of horizon's drop right now. As the anon who proposed building them in the first place, I deliberately kept the number low as I envisioned them as sort of a 'test trial' of that type of farming. The only reason I haven't proposed making more of them is because we already have more biomass than we know what to do with at the moment. So while we're on the topic of resource intake, let's see what we can do to boost our metal intake. Between the metal we've looted from the battle and the daily income, we've got about 67,000 units to work with. Once we replace our loses (for 12,350M) we've got approximately 55,000, and with that I think we do the following.

Create 150 Entropic Excavators: 7500B 22500M
Create 500 Diggers: 7500M

The Mining fleets may be slightly more efficient on a day to day basis, but given how low our reserves of metal were at the start of this thread I'd say we can ill afford to wait 3 days for one to be constructed. By sticking to diggers and excavators we can instantly DOUBLE our daily intake, and we don't have to worry about our pylons being occupied while we replenish our fleets. Better to bring in enough metal to build 2 fleets tomorrow than to spend it all building just one today.
>>
>>45735884
I'll agree with that.
>>
>>45735884
>>45735987

How about we have an X amount of fleets being built every day? That way, after 2 days (it takes 2 days to build omega fleet iirc), we'll have new fleets built every day.

they are not 'slightly' more efficient. They are almost 3 times as efficient.

I don't see any point in building diggers though. Lets just build excavators.

So, lets build 5 fleets (3650B 8000M) and 200 excavators (10000B 30000M). And then have 5 more fleets being built every day.
>>
>>45735998
This might be a good compromise, but we do have to keep in mind we have limited pylon space.
>>
>>45734980
I dub it the Gobledygook. Alternative name: Glossolalia.
>>
>>45735796
Good point perhaps we need to get the osjiic and captured prisoners working with think tank to make regular weapons for "just in case" that are kept in caches with their fleet and around base in emergency armouries

>>45735884
Good plan once the pylons are busy foci on land mining and building more pylons / infrastructure

Once our losses are recouped we should focus on making the necrolytes a fleet

We should look into getting eyesores to monitor our one worlds as we'll just passively watching and looking around in case somebody sneaks in unaware
>>
>>45736009
I think at any given time only 10 pylons would be occupied, no? Last thread we built tons more pylons.
>>
>>45735998
The diggers are dirt cheap anon. We can effectively double our present number of them for 7500M, bringing the total mass their units bring in to 10,000M a day. As a short term measure to speed up metal intake, I'd call that exceedingly efficient.
>>
>>45736009
Perhaps we should build a defence ring around t
Horizons drop with pylons and weapons platforms spread about perhaps with space elevators to the ground that was we increase our defence and shop building capacity

It a big project but we can do it in phases like build individual space elevators with a station in top the. Build a second then have them slowly bridge together then build a third ect ect

>>45736052
Oh we should be building defense rings around every planet in our home system. As the heart and basically sole engine of industry horizon's drop must be given defenses capable of repulsing heaving sieges and assaults, eventually. We should probably get Agona to oversee the construction of further defensive structures on Horizon's Drop and it's moon, and soon.
>>
>>45736090
So basicly shield and weapons platforms with pylons interspersed on the inner side of the ring this would also make collosus projects faster as multiple pylons could work on the one project especially if the movable platforms

Maybe add a method for cauldrons to funnel material to and from the surface so we can share it to any of the cauldrons we have on planet meaning ships would not need to enter the atmosphere to deliver
>>
>>45736048
Nigga, don't get me started on efficiency.

You don't look at how much they cost. You look at how much they produce AND cost.

digger - 1.3M/d per M invested
excavator - 1.5M/d per M invested

For 7500M we can build 50 excavators which will mine 12500M

There is literally no reason to build diggers for mining unless Jyoti hasn't been telling us something (again).

(Omega fleets are crazy efficient even if they take 2 days to build, they make 4M/d per M invested)
>>
>>45736052
>>45736072
>>45736090
>>45736141

We should send the Legion to take over the Confederate space city, transport it over to Horizon's Drop, put it over our Capitol City, connect them with a space elevator and have this as a starting point of this project.
>>
How about we have each of our generals start producing their own Flagships?
I know Lorgul and Nekris prefer smaller ships, but with the the size of the Flagships, they could easily park their smaller craft inside and use them when they need it.
The Flagships would be their base of operations.

Also, from description, a flagship has space for biomass factory. I'm sure that they would have space for 10 Omega fleets too. If they park in a system with metal source, they could become a wholly independent base of operations.
>>
>>45736198
According to that formula diggers are only slightly less efficient than excavators. Given the fact that we can produce them by the thousands for comparative pennies, and without any cost in biomass, I'd say that's more than sufficient reason to build a bunch. Doubly more so when we can't wait three days for an Omega Fleet to finish construction.
>>
>>45736221
I like the way you think, anon.
>>
>>45736508
We have overabundance in biomass, for now we shouldn't take it into consideration.

Excavators and diggers take same amount of time to build, no? I'm not saying to build omega fleets instead, I'm saying that excavators are much better investment.
If time comes that we'll start having deficiency in biomass and abundance in metal, I'll see merit in building diggers over excavators.

I'm not sure what you have again extra 2500M production for the same cost.

With how much biomass and metal we spend, our resource production ration should be about 1:2. For each biomass we make, we should make 2 metal.
>>
>>45736560
Look man, you've offered a very eloquent argument, backed with facts as to why diggers are less efficient at mining on cost to outcome ratio, and I applaud you for that. But if I may offer a rebuttal, I just don't care.

There are more factors than just efficiency that I take into consideration when I decide on which resource generating units I think we should build. The diggers are dirt cheap. We can build dozens of them for the price of a handful of excavators. And as you yourself noted there is only the most negligible difference between them and the excavators in efficiency rates.

Or maybe I just like the damn things.

Rest assured I have taken the merits of your argument into account, and in spite of that I respectfully disagree. I think that hordes of diggers are a fine supplement to their lumbering cousins, and well worth the material investment required to construct them.
>>
>>45736700
Might not be the most efficient but variety is the spice of life how about you two compromise an meet at the middle ground

>>45736221
Brilliant idea it's a mineral rich system and we can advise the necrolytes to make it their base of operations and that so long as they start producing large amounts if metal for the armada they are free to make the place their own with Angona supervising and arranging defenses perhaps having Lorgul advising what strategy he would use to attack and Angona revising to cover that
>>
>>45736923
I'm sort of curious as to what that mysterious 'secondary objective' the Osijics were after was. Who knows what could be lying on that planet down there. And speaking of which, what happened to all the Confederate occupants of the city? It was obviously recently inhabited by a large population, but when we got there the only people around were fighters and a skeleton crew. If everyone else evacuated to the planet below, we could find a source of large numbers of mortal subjects to populate our city with.

Glad we can compromise. How's this look?

Create 150 Entropic Excavators: 7500B 22500M
Create 500 Diggers: 7500M
Create 5 Omega fleets: 3650B 8000M
Create 20 Reaper fleets: 3600B 8300M
Total Cost: 14750B 46300M

And just for the record, here's the cost of filling in the holes in our fleet left by the battle.

>60 Nails: 600B 3840M
>15 Piercing Nails: 450B 990M
>9 Corvettes: 405B 3150M
>6 Frigates: 360B 2700M
>2 Light Cruisers: 160b 1040M
>1 Heavy Cruiser: 90B 630M
Total Cost: 2065B 12350M

I added a bunch of reaper fleets to help the omega fleets with their workload, but I would only support building them if they didn't completely occupy all our construction pylons. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't, but I'd still just like to double check that witch Jyoti.
