As of last Wednesday, 17:00, Nerv-MTL has identified the 5th Angel.

A surveillance/bombing operation is currently underway.

Nope.

"I thought Eileen was...indisposed, though? And you were looking significantly more battle-worn. Fuck, is this a dream?"
>>
I prepared something for our finance division (pdf related).

I thought it would be easier like this, there is 2 scenario (A and B), you can vote for the one you prefer. If there is serious flaw in them, I will ammend.

Remark : We don't need need the EVA unit cradle and shuttle launch system for the moment. It should be usefull against the UAO but UN will grant us more credits after the 5th angel.

On research side, I'm not sure what "space technology applications" stand for? Will it help our EVAs in zero-G ?

The rest will depend on which scenario win.

Feel free to suggest change to what I've done, I know it's not perfect.

The new Science Division Director is here and she came with the... replacement for Eileen. I think they're both from Vancouver.

The new CAG is here too. I haven't seen him though.

Also, Elisabeth's sister is looking for you. Something about a still missing funding allocation?

Remember, the bomber strike is in one hour, maybe we won't be able to meet everyone.
>>
>>45743083
I vote fire support, given that our conventional units can actually do something against the angels unlike in the show we might get more mileage out of giving them a general upgrade.

Although after the initial round of upgrades I think our "endgame" strategy should focus on the EVAs.

was trying to keep it vaguely in-universe so I think there was a general rule was that any music on it would have to come from pre-impact (so September 13th 2000 is the approximate cutoff).

so while the johnny cash version of hurt doesn't work (2002) the Nine Inch Nails one (1994) does.

What we feared happened. The Science team at Nerv-Vancouver analysed the UAO.

The Blood Pattern was also blue.

If you remember, our own team estimated it would pass over HQ 6 days after the 5th Angel would reach us. That means we will have to fight both of them in an extremely short amount of time.

What would be consequences of blowing regular nuke somewhere in stratosphere? Shouldn't most fallout go away into deep space making it viable consideration? Please tell me it does.
>>
>>45746139
Well, since N2 mine generate EMP, we should worry about frying every electrical component in north america I suppose.

Hi...

The positron rifle is ready but untested. As you surely know, it requires an obscene amount of energy to fire even one shell.

We have two options : we requisition the energy output of every neighboring city or we try to power the rifle with the 4th Angel's core.

There's downside to each. If we channel that amount of energy right through Montréal-3, it could destroy our whole energy grid, and that's not mentioning the fires it might start.

The core... I don't know, honestly. It still emits a noticeable A.T. Field. We can work something out but the result will be unpredictable.

>>
>>45746325
Look into the old american star wars program. There was research into gather power from controlled nuclear bursts. We may be able to arrange something similar with an N2 mine.
>>
>>45746325
God dammit. We can't afford to have the whole power grid down with the 6th Angel arriving less than a week from now.

Is there a way to share the load between the two options? Split it 50/50 or something
>>
>>45746325
I am not about to send Montreal-3 into another dark age when there is an alternative option availible.

Utilize the core. It's a risk we'll need to take.
>>
>>45746380

The fleet or their air wing?

Have them make haste and scramble a SAR team to pick up our CBW.

Request standoff range bombardments on the angel.

If they are worried about the angel attacking their fleet, then request they use planes armed with long ranged ASMs to bombard the enemy.

The important question is if they will keep splitting and how core behaves in a split.

Most obvious theory:
- they split when attacked or otherwise agitated
- before split core is in the middle
- in split core separates and new half-cores are by the respective ends
- it takes a while before cores relocate back into the middle (day? hours?)
- angel can't split again until core moves back into the middle

This would mean that having them split now, we're effectively dealing with 4 when they actually arrive (because they will split again at first contact). But they won't go to 8 and it should be relatively easy to locate their cores after the split as long as we maintain visual contact and keep track which end is which.

Major, HERMIT is now safely out of range. But the Angels have increased their speed towards us. This leaves us one week to prepare.

We will immediately begin calibrating Eva Unit 03 for the First Child.

Is there any other task you want done before the 5th Angels attack?

Also, the Second U.N. Atlantic Fleet has been ordered to initiate a search and rescue operation for CHARIOT crew.

>>45747986
No movement.
>>
>>45748267
Have the UN contact immediately once CHARIOT's crew has been found.

If there is a way to create a power generator out of that Angel Core to power the Positron Rifle, I think now is the time to start building it.

Major, we need to talk about David.

I seriously advice against putting David so soon into an Entry Plug. the kid's a burn victim, the pain he'll suffer from having direct contact with LCL will surely affect his synch ra-
>>
>>45748297
Seconding this.
If we aren't going to use the power grid, we need to start work on the Angel Core generator as soon as possible.
>>
>>45748267

Prep the S2 organ for connection to the positron rifle and our power grid.

I'd prefer for us to use conventional power but if it fails, we'll have a backup.

Have the Atlantic Fleet engage the angel at standoff range as much as possible. Any damage it suffers will be a plus.

Doctor, of the positron rifle, how well does it perform when striking a target underwater? And at what day will the positron rifle be able to draw a bead on the approaching angels? A long ranged pre-emtive strike would be much preferred.
>>
Who is the best shot out of our pilots? They should start simulation training with the rifle if possible
>>
>>45748384

Anna.

Sniper rifles are basically her thing.
>>
>>45748359

>>
>>45748384
I think Anna is so far.
>>
>>45748267
Okay, call me crazy, but I'm starting to think bombing it once again might be a right thing to do.

If splitting it makes it swim faster, hitting just one half (!!!) again will make it split again and arrive (as two quarters) faster than the other half. Which means we will take on the Angel in two "waves" that will be couple days from each other.
>>

No, but it would hurt like a bitch, possibly affecting his synch ratio. If we get him a custom plugsuit he might be able to operate normally.
>>
>>45748359
Sorry doctor, but we will need all hands on deck for this one. If anything, David can be a reserve for the primary force.

>>45748496
If we are able to determine the trajectory of the 5th and 6th angels, we might be able to create a platform or some sort of vantage point for that thing to be effective. As for damage, well, I think it's just a risk we need to take.
>>
>>45748496
>It depends of the distance, the depth, the power source. We still don't know how much damage the Positron Rifle will do, much less under specific conditions.

Have MAGI run some simulations, target being the angel at its current depth and distance to target limited only by the horizon. I'd prefer to strike them at least once at long range to soften them up before we engage them proper. It'll save lives.

It's in regards to the sabotage on the MAGI. You remember those technical readouts for the floor plans there? Apparently, whatever group is doing is specifically knew where to hit us precisely, and I have it from a very credible source that they were installed here from other NERV branches, headed up by some member of the UN.

Phillip was one of the people in charge of that thing, and probably the only one who knew its inner workings. If my guess is correct, they were probably planning of both the MAGI and its creator going down at the same time.

If they are going to be looking for more information on it, the next source is going to be those close to Philip.

Elizabeth, I want you to listen very carefully to me. PLEASE. I need you to be on the lookout for anything suspicious around you. Request extra security around you, take different routes home, have David live with someone else for a bit, but please do not let these people get their hands on anymore of Philip's data.
