Deep underground, in the heart of the mountains, a new mind blossoms into being. The Deep Rot, a vast and powerful intellect capable of directing a civilizations worth of soldiers yet still young and impressionable reaches out across your Armada.

Brought to life with a significant chunk of your power you drag yourself from the hatch at the very top of the Deep Rots shell, liquid biomass dripping from your skeletal form. The spear Kyn'tk reforms in your grasp and you can feel the Deep Rots mind stretch out, seeing through countless Reconstructed minds in several star systems, the Think Tanks spending the time to greet their "brother" and welcome it into the fold of the New Necrotic Armada.

Across your worlds the Reconstructed move with new found purpose and guidance. Pilots control their crafts with increased skill, Talons helping to assemble ships and vehicles faster and with less mistakes.

Think Tanks begin to focus more intently on their research and experiments. In a cavern a continent away from the other research labs of the scorched world a Voidknight Disciple watches over the installation of the prototype of the experimental FTL engine combining the Osjiic based Void Drives and the Dagger Skip Drives into a frigate. Another cavern houses a large Cauldron and the misshapen attempts at creating large Reconstructed that didn't collapse under their own weight.

There was another cavern coated in crystalline growths that a Think Tank proudly proclaims one of your longest research attempts complete. A Stinger, its body encased in the blood red crystal growths that spread from it's split open skull floats several feet above the ground, a massive bolder suspending in the air before it. There was a scream of rapidly changing pressure and the boulder splits then crumbles under the telekinetic grasp of the Dirge.

The New Necrotic Armada grows ever stronger, two powerful fleets brought down by it's power and even greater strengths still to be discovered.

Completed Research:
>Combat Telekinesis: Your own telekinetic powers had always been taken for granted as a gift given by the Wormstar. Your Generals and the Think Tanks exhibit this power as well if to a lesser extent than your own. It was the Crystal outposts Monolith defender that made you question if this power could be duplicated on a larger, more destructive scale similar to it's own devastating attacks. Or perhaps even given to Reconstructed.

>Crystalline Engine Dampeners: The abilities of the Crystalline Energy Sponges can theoretically mask the energy signal of FTL engines

>Esat Dissection: An insectoid race the Esat were typically short, ranging from four to six feet in height with four limbs and a double pair of wings, their bodies light to allow flight, a single large green or blue compound eye dominating the cranium. Able to hove in place or fly in nearly any direction they are incredibly nimble flyers but the intense metabolic needs of flight mean they can not fly for prolonged periods. Omnivorous they seemed to subsisted mainly on a high sugar diet from fruits and plants.

>Strange Cyborg Dissection: The Cyborgs recovered from the Confederate space city these cyborgs were unlike those of the Confederations. While the basic design was similar they were fueled by more potent necrotic energy from their cores, their cybernetics crude yet effective.

Unlocked:
Combat Telekinesis: Jadyk's telekinetic powers have been boosted with his new understanding of the monoliths abilities, his generals and think tanks gaining a boost in their capabilities as well.

FTL Energy Shielding: By incorporating crystalline energy sponge technology into your currently known FTL engines your ships can now mask their energy signature when entering or leaving a system through FTL. This however does not block the visual effect of FTL travel (flashes of light)

Wings Adaptation: Two pairs of thin large wings give a unit the ability to fly, range and maneuverability dependent on the size and weight of the unit. Lighter units can use the wings to fly or hover almost indefinitely while heavier units would only be able to glide or leap. In low and zero gravity environments with an atmosphere wings provide an almost unparalleled maneuverability outclassing even the Advanced Jump-Pack. In a vacuum however the wings are nearly useless.

New Unit: Dirge - A powerful telekinetic the Dirge takes the simple form of a Stinger, it's cranium split open for the red crystal brain-like structure that emerges from within and extends down it's neck and shoulders. Crystals spread from special nodes placed throughout it's body grow rigid and lock the Dirge into place similar to an unmoving statue. Relying on it's significant telekinetic field to interact with its environment the Dirge floats along silently in whatever pose it found itself at the time of it's crystal hide hardening. Capable of manipulating a powerful telekinetic field for manual labor, dangerous item handling, and combat. In combat it relies on powerful "pressure" attacks to those within range of it's telekinetic field creating sudden areas of crushing weight or focusing attacks into a single focused strike of great power. It can also be used to fling objects at high speeds to attack targets at further ranges. This field also provides a powerful defense against physical and ballistic attacks but leaving it defenseless against energy attacks. Cost: 25B

While the strange cyborgs offered nothing of note for the Think Tanks to reverse-engineer they have learned several intriguing things concerning their creation. Alarmingly the metal sheathing their bones, while made similar to the Confederates, was made with necrotic forged metal. Another note was the metal spears and spikes they used for melee weapons were made of the same metal and infused with toxic necrotic energy. These metals show signs of being forged similar to your Cauldron tech. The core of necrotic crystals formed from the hosts own biomass was unlike the Confederates and thorough examination reveals that in places the Confederates used circuitry this core possessed runes clearly derived from the Wormstars language. Suffering many mistranslations and spelling errors the runes were fundamentally similar enough to the Wormstars language to create the same effects. There was one thing that drew attention and that was the engraving of a stylized eclipsed sun crumbling to pieces carved into the back of each cyborgs skull just above the spine.

There was much to be done.

The armies of the Osjiic and Ahkam are taken to the rocky world your Entropic Excavators and Diggers had been mining and locked in hastily constructed prisons within the mines. Think Tanks travel through their ranks, inserting domination spikes into each one. Stingers and Trolls keep watch with sedation and riot gas equipped thumpers, bola launchers, and paralytic venoms should the prisoners attempt to escape.

The first of the Necrolyte Legions Voidsingers awaken and under the guidance of the original Voidsinger and a Voidknight Disciple begin to practice their new capabilities. The pair of Stonestars pick up the practice with surprising speed, spinning and somersaulting with lashes of voidflame extending from their limbs. The other three showing promise but needing work before they were combat-worthy.

Nekris spends his time butchering the Ahkam juvenile he'd slain and drained, it's bladed scale hides set aside for armor and the blades of it's hood and tail gathered for weaponry. It's skull he preserves with runes of necrotic energy, planning it to be mounted on the hull of the personal craft he had begun designing.

Agona goes over the data of the battles, learning everything she could of your enemies tactics and ships. She hands off her plans for her own great ship to the Think Tanks and they set to work at her specifications. The words of the Osjiic and the importance of her former life nag at her but she pushes them away. She was the Punisher of the New Necrotic Armada and she would not be distracted by the words of the enemy.

Lorgul stands face to face with the Deathshead Guardian he'd subdued. The Osjiic skeleton bound to a wall deep in the moon and surrounded by Glutton Spheres sapping it's power. They glower at each other with empty eyesockets burning with voidflame yet say nothing.

There was much to be done and much to do but for now, you find your worlds in a momentary state of respite.

What shall you do first?

Create a new unique general unit out of the captured male Akham.

Lock down the Leviathan/Fury of Wormstar's movement until it's experimental FTL drive is tested on another, more replacable spacecraft. No this isn't metagaming, it's just common sense.
>>
>>45824904
Question the Male Akham thoroughly and in detail. Then question the Deathshead Guardian.
>>
>>45825002
I meant to mention this previously, it is not equipped with the experimental drive.

It has both the Void AND Skip drives as independent systems so it could use either as it saw fit. Your other ships are not large enough for this currently as the engines are too big at the moment to fit both on a ship without some serious overhauls

>What happened to the tributes of biomass that came from the herds and the hunting outposts?
Players voted to discontinue the tributes.

Colonists still tend to their herds and farms for their own use and the hunting outposts are shut down temporarily until you decide to staff them again.

>>45824904
The Male Ahkam is imprisoned on the Horizon's Drop moon. A whole pack of Shock Trolls keep watch, the Ahkam chained to a trio of Large Glutton Spheres and a swarm of normal sized Glutton Spheres floating around it to keep it weakened but still alive. It constantly struggles against the chains but it is too weak to escape, still injured from it's ship exploding as it tried to escape.

What would you like to question it about?
>>
>>45825323
I don't remember that vote, and I was here for almost all of the last four or so threads. And as I recall we explicitly voted in the last thread to staff the hunting outposts with the Osijic and Akham soldiers we captured in the last battle.

Oh I must've misread, oops.

The hunting outpost has only enough room to house about 80 people in it without expansion.

Would you like to expand your hunting outposts, possibly even on Rukor?
>Y/N?

>>45825427
You haven't yet tried to remake another Voidknight after creating Lorgul and he in turn made the Disciples. It would come with risks because you have never tried to reconstruct an undead already so infused with Void-power.

No to expansion

No to remake the deathshead

>>
>>45825515
>>Y
Once the storms die down and Rukor recovers from it's punishing famine, maybe we could set up a tribute system for that world as well. I'm sure there is a bounty of biomass to be found in those oceans.

Could we drain the Deathshead's powers, thereby boosting our own mastery over the void?
>>
>>45825515
Drain him to about half his energy then make another void disciple out of him

And as for the tribute we decides thr it would be part of a reconciliation into the new culture they work to get used to their new ruler then when they have proven they can co-operate we send them to a colony or to the legion depending on how they feel best they can serve those who serve well are rewarded those who serve poorly are sent to do menial labour

Also start a fishing outpost on rukor for this oh serve well but want a holiday
>>
>>45825515
We need to find a way to question the deathshead and at least figure out what makes it tick so we can improve or own voidsinger program we got going in the legion

Since the deathshead is the last stage for voidsingers in the osjic right?

Preferably the plan is like the plain stunners uplift them and gain willing living servants teach them te ways on I death our tribute will come in main power instead of biomass

The trip to the moon is a short one, your ships coming and going between the two planetoids quite often with resources and troops. Your throne departs from the coffin it had hitched a ride on, drifting past the hulks of Osjiic ships dragged to the ship pylons and the ships of your own make in various states of construction.

Descending into the ground hollowed out with a maze of tunnels you decide to approach the Ahkam male first. Entering the prison your Shock Trolls part before the floating throne that sets down with a small cloud of dust. The greenscaled beast coils in on itself, faint sparks of energy crackling over its form but the Glutton Spheres keep it weakened from where they float in the large cavern, the serpent glowering at you as you sit in silence staring up at it.

Finally it hisses and twists in annoyance with several wounds tearing open in the process. Talon surgeons rush forward in conductive armor to tend to it with spools of keratin wire, the serpent already growing indifferent to the unrequested medical care, "Tell me where I am and who you are, corpse!" it demands, its voice dripping with hate.

You clack your jaw and point at it with the twisting point of Kyn'tk, "I am your new lord. You are within my grasp. That is all you should concern yourself with for now. That and answering my questions. Understood?" Necrotic energy crackles along the spear and the serpent recoils and you continue with a nod, "Good. You will give me your name and the name of your leader as a start."

It is silent for several moments until a thin bolt of necrotic energy lashes from the spear across its scaled belly and it snarls at the attack, weak as it was. Finally it hisses out, "I took the name Dne'tec. My mate, the one your fleet tried to kill, is named Qutanc'vrix the Matriarch of the Qutanc dynasty."

Clacking your jaw you no longer point the spear at the beast, "See? Much easier to cooperate. Tell me, do your people know of the Grand Necrotic Armada of the ancient myths?"

"We have heard of them. The histories speak of the Armada and how our ancestors hid from it in the darkness between stars. With their defeat the ancient dynasties arose in the power vacuum, claiming much territory. I know little of them," it glances around the room full of undead and yourself, a literal armored skeleton, "Though I suppose you were not all defeated."

"Defeated, not destroyed. You will tell me of your worlds and the strengths of your fleets. You will be truthful or you will know pain unimaginable before you become just like me and my family," you say with a gesture to the pack of trolls crowded within the cavern.

The Ahkam is silent until Kyn'tk crackles with energy once more and it reluctantly begins to spill what it knows.

Qutanc'Vrix controlled a decently sized territory of star-systems. Her domain was one of the furthest extended in this space sector, her sister in the Qutanc dynasty connecting Vrix's to the greater Ahkam territories. Qutanc'Vrix's worlds contained mostly tribute worlds, the relatively young Ahkam Matriarch still expanding her military base and relying on reinforcements from her more established older sister. Dne'tec listing off a series of coordinates for your Think Tanks and already a series of Eyegores are under construction to begin investigations.

You lean forward in your throne, "Tell me of your enemies."

The Ahkam becomes more animated, speaking with hate about the Osjiic and their void powered armies. It mentions the Armatocere with little more than rumors to goad its hatred. The Confederates it considers weak idealistic fools but admits their fleets are vast and powerful. Netu pirates he remarks are considered an Ahkam delicacy, their acid producing organs giving them a spicy kick.

>cont

>>45826730
You ask about the Sunscales and it goes silent before answering, "They are the greatest of our enemies. The very stars themselves, nurturing and protective against the cold, answer their calls to battle. Their Solar or Void blessed warriors powerful enough that even the Matriarchs are wary of battle. They are the great enemy to us yet they hardly view us more than worms," it speaks with venom and a deep-rooted hate against them.

You thank the beast for its time and it laughs, straining against the chains as it lowers its head closer to your level, an eye as large as your skull glowering with blue light, its green scales glinting with the light of the Glutton Spheres, "If Qutanc'Vrix lives, you fleets will suffer for your crimes. If she is truly dead, your fleets will be reduced to dust. Her sister is so much more cruel than her and greatly protective of her younger sister."

With your previous attempt to enslave the Ahkam Juvenile, the skull of which adorns your wall of trophies, being less than successful you had assigned a Think Tank to design a solution.

That solution arrives with the Think Tank holding it in it's telekinetic grasp. A collar of black metal adorned with several Glutton Spheres and domination spikes along the interior. Dne'tec hisses at the sight and struggles against the chains, its tail lashing. Shock Troops move forward with arc-spears in hand but you halt them as your throne lifts from the ground.

Dne'tec glares at you and bares his fangs ready to strike but you thrust your hand out and he chokes, eyes going wide in alarm at telekinetic grip wrapping around its throat. While you were within the Deep Rot you absorbed the knowledge of the Think Tanks research into the monoliths abilities and your own grew with that understanding.

It struggles against your grasp but even with your reduced strength from creating the Deep Rot it was too injured to resist. The Think Tank floats over with the domination collar and with quick movements it latches it around its neck just below its jaws, the male lacking the distinctive hood of the females. It screams in agony as the spikes burrow into its flesh and exert your will over it.

Releasing your choking grasp the Ahkam falls to the ground in a coiled heap, panting as it falls unconscious. You can feel its pain through the collar but only once it awakens will you be sure of it's enslavement yet you feel confident.

There was still the Deathshead Guardian to interrogate and your throne drifts from the cavern to travel to the Voidknights sanctuary several kilometers away.

>Dne'tec, Ahkam consort to Qutanc'Vrix has been enslaved

Revenant Lorgul meets you at the entrance to his sanctuary, the walls and doors made of stone turned to black glass by void-flames. Standing from your throne you drift through the air yourself as he kneels before you, his flames sharp and distinct from his recent feasting on the payload from the Void warhead, "Hail Lord Jadyk," he stands, turning his rictus grin to you, "I must thank you for that glorious battle. I haven't had that much fun since we first stormed Estkri's ship and fought side by side. It was an honor to fight by your side then and an even greater to lead the Armada in battle with sister Agona and brother Nekris. I can only hope we do not have to wait so long between glorious battles, my Lord."

You pat the Voidknight on his shoulder as you drift past and he follows, the doors of polished glass creaking open before you, "Fear not, my friend. I have no doubt we shall know that peace for much longer. Tell me what you learned from our guest?"

The Voidknight goes silent for a few moments as you make your way through the hall. You can hear the Voidsingers training with the Disciple in a nearby room but you do not interrupt before Lorgul replies, "They were nearly my equal in strength. Had I not feasted on the Osjiic Void-Nova I would likely have fallen in battle before it. They are strong, Lord Jadyk, very strong. The tales from the Osjiic we captured are not exaggerations of their might. This one has yet to speak a single word."

The doors to the prison open and the Guardian lifts its head to stare at you from its place crucified to the wall. Voidflames ripple from within it's heavy armor and you can feel it's hate roil off it like waves. Lorgul snorts, crossing his arms across his chest, "They are not happy, this I can tell."

You stand, floating before the Deathshead Guardian as the doors seal shut, "I hear you were once a Voidsinger, a nameless pawn within the Osjiic Empires warmachine. Tell me, great warrior. Tell me your name."

The undead sealed within the armor is silent except for the ultraviolet flames engulfing its bones flickering. They stay silent for several long moments and you begin to suspect they are completely mute.

Then suddenly there is a voice, hoarse and rough from misuse, "I was bestowed the name 33 Black-Shield. The thirty-third of my name to serve the Osjiic Empire. Birthed from the flames of the dead Ghul. I know of your name. Jadyk. The whispers of the Voidlord changed with his creation," it turns its gaze to Lorgul, "'Seek Jadyk' they said then returned to their mindless babbling."

You clack your jaw in surprise, Kyn'tk writhing in your grasp, "Tell me what you know of the Voidlord Ghul. Tell me why the Emperor sent two of his Guardians to search for a Sub-Admiral of a simple Scout Fleet. How shall your Emperor react to your loss?"

"The Voidlord is the source of our power both as Deathsheads and as a Race. His armies decimated our planet but then, in the middle of his campaign, he and his forces fell with their powers greatly diminished. Their ships crashed to our world and with their bounty the Osjiic arose, from primitives to the Empire you have fought. His bones fuel our transformation, his weapons and armor reforged for the Emperors line. The Void fuels the Osjiic Empire after nearly consuming it in its infancy. He is truly dead yet still his ghosts and echoes haunt us, metaphorically and literally. We see what others can't," he turns his gaze to Lorgul once more, "Don't we, Brother?"

The Revenant slowly nods, "A universe on fire, the Void between the stars aflame with potential power that would incinerate us if we opened ourselves fully to it."

While I fully agree that we should make an effort to expand exponentially, we can only do so as fast as our current resource pool allows. The Guardian turns to you again, "As for why Sub-Admiral Estkri was of such import, I cannot say. We do not question our Emperor, only obey. She is important to him and that is reason enough for us to fight and slay and die for our Emperor. The living soldiers had their rumors we heard through the Void. His daughter, his lover, his sibling. Who knows."

Sighing in disappointment you shrug, "To be expected. The Osjiic seem to love their secrets. What can you tell me of the fleets movements and holdings of your empire?"

"Beyond the movements of the fleet I was assigned we are kept in the dark of our sister fleets," Also to be expected by now but it continues, "And I will not give up my Empire. I am the thirty-third of my name to defend the Empire and I shall do so until my bones are dust."

Kyn'tk writhes angrily in your grasp, fractal blades glinting in the darkness, "That we shall see."

It said our generals can create their own, unique sub capitol ships. The flagship was designed as a unique, one off type of ship. Considering it takes about 20 threads for one of them to reach completion for the cost of city, we can't really afford to build any more of the things until our empire is on entirely seperate scale to what it is now.

Creating additional Flagships will be possible in the future. At the moment your Flagship is taking so long to make because it's the very first and an experiment in of itself.
In the future it will be easier and faster to make them when your operations are bigger and you can refine the process.

Seeing that you were going to get no answers from the Deathshead Guardian without some significant effort you decide to take care of the undead personally. Drained of a significant portion of your Necrotic power the well of surging Void energy looks increasingly appetizing.

Kyn'tk lashes out and splits into several tines that drills through its armor. 33 Black-Shield shouts and begins to struggle against the spikes pinning it to the wall but the spear holds him against it, "Fear not 33 Black-Shield. Your power will live on, within me and aid me. Your power shall become mine and you shall help me build my Armada. You shall help me break the back of your beloved Empire. Your name will live on," you speak as a pillar of Voidflame channels itself from the Osjiic Undead into yourself along the connecting spear.

Lorgul watches in silence as you drain the power until all that remained was a skeleton in a suit of armor dangling from the wall. Retracting Kyn'tk you look down at yourself, Voidflames pulsing withing your armor and along your bones.

You can hear it, faintly as a crackling like static or a smoldering of ashes. The Void calls from the depths between stars and you can hear it.

The Void Sings and it is so beautiful, and terrifying

That's an Obsidian Destroyer from Warcraft, specifically WoW though the unit originates from Warcraft 3.

It's initial form is that of an Obsidian Statue, anchored in place to a stone slab that it floats around on acting as a general anti-magic unit, and then it turns into that, becomes truly animate and goes out to wreck magic user's shit.

Essentially, incorporating Glutton Spheres onto it, possibly in the form of typical egyptian-esque staffs, would make it an expy of that.

You turn to speak to Lorgul when you find yourself suddenly bombarded by alerts from the scorched world.

The Disciple had boarded the frigate to initiate a test of the system, Talons and Stingers standing to the side as they waited. The test began well, energy levels within safe levels and the experimental stable. That is until there was a sudden spike of energy within the core. The Think Tanks and the Disciple tried to abort but the energy continued to grow, the engine spooling up the FTL drive despite their efforts.

Think Tanks send you and Lorgul images of the remains of the test cavern, or the shell of where it had existed. Now a half-collapsed cavern twice the size replace it, the stone of the walls and floors gone alone with the ship, Disciple, a Think Tank and a group of non-combat Talons and Stingers. They were completely missing, only whispers of Void energy left behind.

The Think Tanks are in a flurry as they try to understand what went wrong, the Deep Rot reaching out across the stars for the lost Think Tank but it cannot feel them. Neither can Lorgul sense his Disciple. He is not pleased.

You were once again seated on your throne as it floats through the tunnels, Lorgul at your side, as you made your way to the surface and to the ships waiting to take you to the scorched planet. Lorgul grumbles about letting his irreplaceable Disciple tending to such a dangerous experiment and you were ready to snap back at him when you realize his footsteps had halted. Your throne slows down halts as well, unmoving within the larger junction room you'd entered.

Glancing behind you spot Lorgul frozen mid-step, even the ethereal ultraviolet flames frozen like gossamer glass. Across the room a Talon pushing a hovercrate full of stones stooping to catch a stone mid-fall.

Behind it stood what could only be one of the Masked. A human, mummified and emaciated stands with its face hidden behind an exaggerated wooden mask. Echoes of its voice proceed its words, the rattling of dried skin and leaves on an unseen wind, "Most impressive, Lich-Lord. Most impressive indeed. You played the Osjiic and Ahkam like a Masked yourself. Their fleets destroyed, armies captured and the Ahkam wounded and driven away."

The Masked is a Plainsrunner, mangled and half-eaten and it holds a wooden mask in its grasp, dark and cracked but unmistakably one of their own, "You are not Masked but like any good worm of the Kyn'tk you will have your own mask," the mask floats from its hand towards you, a facsimile of the very first host you had ever possessed eons ago on your homeworld when were but you a grub of flesh and little ambition.

You gaze at the expressionless face of the offered mask, insectile and grotesque. It almost feels like an insult and you feel your anger rise, ready to lash out at the Masked. Instead you reach a hand out and the offered mask drifts over to hover above your palm, "Will this change or control me?" you ask cautiously

The laughter of the Masked fills the chamber like a million screaming birds, "You considered yourself the master of change when you were in the old Armada. Never content with your shape yet here you remain in your current state since your awakening. It will only change what you yourself change. Worry not about control," the Tyrre tilts its head, intestines spilling from its disemboweled stomach, "What fun is it to control when you are much more entertaining on your own?"

Grasping the wooden mask it feels heavier than it looks, the texture seeming to shift under your grasp but it remains static and firm. You glance up to the skeletal remains of a Sunscale lizard, "What of my boon?"

The Masked slithers forward on a mass of sickly colored tentacles, its mask rising to the surface of the mass, "Information. Information you must pick. We offer you a route to a potential ally, like-minded and descended from the corpse of the Wormstar. Or, information on the death of the Wormstar and its killers. "Tell me of this potential ally. I know remnants of the Wormstar remain. I would bring them into the Armada," you pause and let out a small laugh, "If they are friendly."

The Masked extends it's hand, star shaped palm reaching for you, "Shapers of rotten flesh, born from the corrupted children of the Wormstars killers, eternal foes of their righteous cousins," An image of a black scales over twisting roiling flesh flashes before you, the twisted humanoid standing on cancerous legs, "They know not their legacy, only that their former parents despise them. They await for your guidance, Lord of Worms."

A set of coordinates flash in your mind and the sight of a red sun dark and dying, a dim world with a black ship in orbit and the screams of the living on that accursed world.

We should send Buddy with that Confed corvette to the Confederacy planets to set up a buyer for our sweet sweet necro-weed

Also I have an idea for a new unit because of the wings and the bug we got the wings from.

Smaller than Talons they'd be insect-like and fly around with light weapons or as techs and workers. Something similar to the Halo Drones Grave used as their pic

The suggestion with Buddy is kinda weird. Like we're equals or something. And no clear task given to him.

Better way to do this. Summon him to us so that we can personally speak with him. Give him an offer he can't refuse, put him in charge of narcotikelp smuggling operation. Tell him we will provide him with any resources he requires: ships, money, troops, etc.

How many of the Voidsingers do you wish to turn into Disciples and how many do you wish to keep alive for potential membership in the Necrolyte Legion?

Among those you've captured only two show true potential for becoming more than just their weight in biomass. Admiral Riatlor, the Osjiic Agona had captured and subdued on the Battleship as Lorgul dueled with the Deathshead Guardian, and the Epikor that commanded the Ahkam forces and answered second only to the Ahkam themselves.

They are separated from the other captives and brought to the moon. Sealed within their prisons they await your personal attention but first something has been weighing on your mind.

It was Jor that had dreamt up the plans for the great capitol city would would be able to house subjects in the thousands once it was completed. Not only this he had heard the songs of the Wormstar within those same dreams.

Once, in eons past, the Wormstar had reached out through the cosmos and infected the dreams of the living, growing its influence and preparing their worlds for conquering. It seemed that something remained of the Wormstars influence and reached out for your favored and very first servant. It could not be coincidence.

You descend in a Coffin and Jor meets you with several Colonists at the landing platform at the edge of the colony. The human smiles, in his armor as always but you see he'd cleaned them recently, "Greetings Lord Jadyk!" he calls and bows with the others, "We await the arrival of Red-Leaf-Strains and her tribe. We've got quite a feast ready for them along with gifts. We were wondering if you would grace us with your presence."

You nod and wave your hand to motion the mother holding young David forward. She hesitates but the Talon that had been assigned to watch over her and her son nudges her gently with it's elbow and she steps forth. You stroke the childs brow, the scar of their mark darker than the day you'd applied it, "He grows well. David will be a strong child. Take care of him and you will live your life in comfort," you say to the woman and she visibly shakes in your shadow and scurries off with the others as you dismiss them.

Jor walks alongside you as you float above the ground, passing through the Colony, "The plainsrunners will be well taken care of. We'd seen them as we scouted the planet but we didn't think they were truly intelligent. We wouldn't have been able to get a colony charter if we did!" he says with a laugh then glances at you, "Though I have a feeling your visit is for something...more. Tell me, Lord Jadyk and I will do my best to make you proud."

You can feel his sincerity at his offer and this pleases you. You are silent as you both make your way to a nearby farm, the herd-beasts lazing about their pen after being brought in for the night. Pointing to the Reaver Staff impaled into the ground as if awaiting them you finally speak, "This is my gift to you Jor. You were the first of my servants after gaining my freedom. A freedom only gained with your aid. You have been loyal to me despite my cruelty and unnatural ways," the human hesitates but steps toward the staff. He notices the grass wilting in a spreading circle from where it stood in the ground.

"You have heard the songs of the Wormstar, the being that created me in unspeakably ancient times. My god is dead and yet you received its Song in your dreams. I believe you are meant for great things, Jor. I will guide you and you will join me by my side within the New Necrotic Armada," he reaches for the staff and grasps it. Jor shudders and gasps at the surge of necrotic power that surges through him suddenly, "You will become the first of my new Necromancers. The First among the Living subjects of my Armada."

Jor holds the staff in his hand, looking up sharply at the startled bleating of a herd beast held aloft in your telekinetic grasp and dragged towards him. The rest of the herd runs off in a panic and the six-legged beast twists in a panic, hooves kicking at the air, "You have great potential with you Jor. Potential for great power and with great power comes great opportunity. This is your opportunity Jor, I know you have the capability."

The human stands there, holding the pointed end of the black metal staff at the frightened creature for several long moments before he thrusts it forward. It lets out a choking bleating before its body withers and falls to the ground. Jor gasps and nearly drops the Reaver as the sensation of power floods through him.

You could feel it, that spark of potential might within him, so easily ignored and overlooked, flare in strength at his first taste true necrotic energy. His eyes grow further sunken in his sockets but his grin is wild as he turns to look to you, "I-I had no idea it felt like this..." he turns to look at the herd-beasts running in their fear and he grips the Reaver tighter, "I gladly accept, Lord Jadyk, thank you."

You stand and watch as your newest disciple moves to slake his newfound hunger for the living.

Finally he stops when there was no longer any herd-beasts to drain, the field of dead grass littered with the withered husks of the beasts. Coffins descend to gather them before any colonists could arrive and you send him to rest and rejoin the colonists for the arrival of the Plainsrunners. He promptly falls asleep in his room of the former mayors office, the Reaver staff hovering near him as he slept and dreamt of ancient songs and vast cities of flesh and bone.

As Jor sleeps your board a Coffin and find Buddy, frightened and shaking, on board already. The Stinger sent to retrieve him sitting nearby and bowing their head as you enter. The human looks up to you with blood-shot eyes, his hangover felt even through the shard of your armor embedded in his flesh.

The Coffin lifts off and you seat yourself on your throne, the human cowering in your presence as you travel rapidly to your mountain fortress. Landing on the platform once used to transport ore and stone from the mine Buddy and Jor once worked together you both emerge, the human prodded forward by the Stinger. Crates of nondescript metal lay stacked and the Stinger moves forward to crack one open and pull forth a bundle of narcotikelp wrapped tight, yet even so the potent scent leaks through.

The human stares in confusion as the Stinger hands him the bundle and he turns to look at you, throne hovering a few feet away, "W-what?" he asks dumbly

"I must ask your help once again Buddy. I am curious about the Confederacy and this will be your ticket to expanding my reaching to them. You will go forth and bring my gifts. Go discreetly and find those that would find value in this crop. Tell them you can provide a nearly unlimited supply to those that will bring strength and influence to yourself and the Armada. Tell no one of your connection or my existence and you shall share in this power and influence, gaining wealth," you motion vaguely to the human, "Is this not what most humans want? Serve me willingly and you shall have all you desire."

The human is silent for a long time, plucking at the dried plant and sniffing at it before looking up to you on your throne, "So uh, when do I get started?"

>Buddy willing to accept your task as the first feeler into Confederate space. He will go forth and try to establish trade-routes, most likely illicit, for the distribution of the Narcotikelp

Standing before your personal Cauldron, the very first you perfected on Horizon's Drop, you plunge your hands into the necrotic biomass and begin to spin and thread together a new creation. Deep within the mountain a new Reconstructed is formed.

From the liquid emerges a hunched creature of chitin and twitching limbs. Powerful wings stretch then buzz as the new Reconstructed lifts to the air. Only four feet tall it was a hunched humanoid with four wings made of sturdy yet light keratin. Dexterous hands allow them to work with small mechanisms and electronics with ease. Their light size means they are restricted to only light or medium weapons. A trio of compound eyes above gnashing mandibles giving the Reconstructed nearly all around vision. Cost: 6B

Not a bad idea. And unlike for Ahkam we can find use in them. Exoskeletons will provide them opportunity to be as effective warriors as other races, we could find necromancers and voidsingers among them.
I also thought about building several think tanks and sending them there. Gather the smartest and brightest of the Ructu and using the experience gained a from Beast of Rukor, start research into bioships and develop a completely new line of ships, weapons, reactors and engines. The Voidsinger Commander and the remaining Necrolyte Legionnaire move among the Ahkam and Osjiic captives and even among the Stonestar, singling out those they feel held the potential to hold the Voidflame within them and control its fury. The harvest is modest, the original Voidsinger silently pleased there were those with the potential among the Osjiic. There were a surprising amount among the Ahkam forces as well, a trio of of the strange Esat among the most surprising.

>Discovered 18 potential Voidsingers

You had decided to move along side them, searching for that spark you felt within Jor. Now that you knew what to search for it was surprisingly easy to search for. Searching through your subjects, even extending your will through reconstructed and Think Tanks you make note of a startling amount of those capable.

A pair of your colonists, brother and sister vorh that had been working closely with the Necrolyte Legionnaires in designing their exoskeletons. Several Stonestars both loyal and Armada adopted. A number of former Dagger and even a lone Osjiic female from your Legion.

Among the ructu that slept among the Dreamstones there were a large many with the potential, their dreams burning bright in their sleep. Their bodies were small and frail compared to many of the races you've encountered, even the similarly crustacean Vorh could overpower one in a contest of strength, yet they seemed to possess within them to become powerful Necromancers.

To your great pleasure the final potential convert you discover is one on her way to join you. Red-Leaf-Strains burns bright in her dreams, her inner spark ripe and ready to accept the gift of the Necrotic.

Infuriated by the loss of one of his favorite 'sons' Revenant Lorgul gathers most of the recently captured Osjiic Voidsingers. Shock Trolls escort the struggling Voidsingers prodding them on with Arc spears through the Voidknights sanctum.

There in the heart of the Voidknight Order they are greeted by the Voidknight and the remaining Disciple standing by the edge of a specialized Cauldron set into the floor, braziers of voidflame flickering around the room. The Voidsinger Commander stands to the edge in silence, considered an honorable Voidknight despite your desire to reserve the Osjiic for other matters.

The Voidknight and his Disciple begin the incantations, speaking in the harsh language of the Black Flame. The flames at the breast of each Voidsinger flares in their presence and they cry out in pain.

One by one they are pushed into the vat and emerge after some time, their bodies warped and Reconstructed to reflect their creator. Five new Voidknight Disciples emerge from the Cauldron, their black armor burning with ultraviolet flames. They stand and kneel around the Cauldron, proclaiming themselves to the Voidknight Order and your New Necrotic Armada.

It was then that Revenant Lorgul turns to his first Disciple, "You fought well, my Disciple. You yourself faced a Deathshead Guardian in combat and struck down their craft. They may have survived their fall to the planet but you have proved yourself time and again. Kneel," he commands.

The Disciple does as commanded, head bowed low, "I fight and slay for the Voidknights, the Black Flame and the New Necrotic Armada. My armor and flames are yours," they intone as Lorgul places a heavy boot on their pauldron then gives them a solid kick. The Disciple shouts in surprise as they plunge into the void infused biomass, the liquid churning and boiling furiously.

The voidflame braziers flare with sudden life, the very light in the room contorting and twisting from the ambient void power within the chamber increasing with significant potential. The obsidian-like walls of polished glass refract and contort as the Disciples' body is warped and enhanced, drinking in the ambient energies that Lorgul and the new Disciples channeled from the cosmos itself into their newest champion.

The Cauldron flares, steam rising from the liquid as a massive hand of armored glass grasps the edge and hauls its hulking form from the vat. A new Voidknight stands before Lorgul, their armor much like his but distinct and sharp, the horns of his helm thick ramming spirals. A warhammer of Void-weighted black bone, its handle made of a Reaver Staff grasped in their hand.

They kneel before Lorgul and he places his hand on his new brothers shoulder, "Arise, my brother. You have earned your name and your place by my side in this new Armada. Arise Revenant Jareth and join me. We shall bring honor the Voidlords legacy."

Standing before your personal Cauldron you have the newest of your potential warriors brought forth, guarded by Agona and Nekris respectively.

Admiral Riatlor was a powerfully built Osjiic of many past battles. Built being quite literal in her case. The Osjiic was older than any you'd seen in their forces, both her legs and an arm replaced by powerful cybernetics with built in weaponry. She herself had managed to crack Agona's shield but had yielded after being disarmed and seeing the Guardian defeated.

Punisher Agona shoves her forward and she glowers at you all though that could just be the optics of her mechanical eyes zooming aggressively in your direction. Her bottom jaw replaced with a mechanical jaw, her voicebox damaged in the battle and she'd refused all attempts to repair it.

You spread your hands before the Cauldron and clack your jaw, "Don't give me that look Riatlor. You shall join your long-lost Estkri. In fact, she can't wait for this reunion. Isn't that right, Agona?"

The Osjiic looks sharply at the hulking undead behind her, artificial jaw crackling as she attempted to speak but Agona snorts, "Elated," she says before bodily shoving the sturdy Osjiic into the Cauldron with a large splace.

You plunge your hands into the vat and take hold of the Osjiics essence, replacing or integrating her advanced cybernetics into her new form. Her bones are old but strong, uncountable fractures through her years hardening and making her bones even stronger, in places aided with metal and plasteel. Several artificial organs and a carbon-alloy heart keep her going, the Osjiic nearly more machine than flesh but that is no mind.

Soon, a sister to the unmovable Agona emerges from boiling sludge. A juggernaut of heavy armor and blunt metal, the newest Punisher kneels before you.

You touch the point of your spear to her shoulder and bid her to rise, "Stand, my Punisher Muic. You will be the hammer that smashes our foes against our Agona's shield."

Seeing the fate that awaited him the epikor Admiral Lla'bulro, another wizened warrior with advanced cybernetic enhancements, attempts to escape from Nekriss four armed grasp struggling and kicking it's mechanical legs. Rather than use the Domination Spike to subdue the Epikor the Predators limbs pulse with electricity, lightly shocking the humanoid as he lifts him bodily from the ground.

You look to the twitching epikor and clack your jaw, your spear reaching out to tap the metal plate bolted across his chest, "You are a lively one despite your metal parts. Let's seen how lively your new life in the grasp of Undeath and with the power of the Necrotic."

You motion for Nekris to dump the soldier into the vat but the skin of your general ripples dark blues and blacks as he hesitates, "I must request something of you, Lord Jadyk. May I assist you in this project?"

This was certainly another surprise among many this night and you graciously allow Nekris this chance at expressing his...creativity. The Epikor is dropped into the vat with one last shout of defiance. Kyn'tk splits itself in two, one half joining Nekris and shaping itself into a wicked blade who's serrated edge grinds and rotates like a primitive chainsaw. Plunging all six of your combined hands into Cauldron you both work and experiment with this new creation.

Agona and Muic watch from the side with curiosity despite their eyeless helms. Nearly an hour later you and Nekris step back pulling your hands from the Cauldron. It takes several minutes more before a creature of sleek armor emerges. A single large eye glows with necrotic and arc energy, bolts of energy crackling along its flesh that ripples much like Nekris'.

They kneel before you and their patron, completing the trio of new Generals raised by your originals, "I serve to hunt and slay in your name, Lich-Lord Jadyk. Our enemies will bleed," he promises.

"Arise Punisher Eiton, our Armada grows stronger with your presence."

Well, the Ructu still need to breath, so how about we connect those spires with underwater passageways and pipes on top of the bridges, allowing them to freely work and travel the city without ever needing to go into the upper levels.
Could be a Venice above the sea level, and a sort of Bioshock esque Rapture type of place beneath it.
>>
>>45837211
You should remember that lavafather is our vassal. If we want to scour his planet for voidsingers and necromancers, we don't need to ask his permission.
>>
>>45837244
Yes, that's what I meant and if course the underwater part would have the necessary life support

How am I still going? I think it's twelve hours now and I still ahve stuff we need to get through. May end up hitting bump limit naturally

Like sending the Necrolyte Legion to take the Confederate space city and drive off or destroy the Osjiic presence.

How many ships do you wish to send to take care of the Osjiic ships and how many of the Legion do you wish to send?
I'm assuming you'll use Necrotic Fleets to take care of the ships and use the Necrolytes to clear the space city since they lack a proper navy themselves.

And then I'll go through the thread and address questions I've had to avoid in favor of doing the story stuff.
>>
>>45837241
Oh man, I love how our generals are each staking out their own element and are building more generals based off of that.

But please, keep going as long as you're able to Jyoti. I missed my fix on Thursday and a sufficient dose of Spess Liches to last me the week.

>>45837253
Well, yeah, but it's still just kind of polite, you know?
>>
>>45837310
Didn't we have the Voidsinger establish Necrotic legion to prove their worth?
Have him and his officers make decisions themselves. He can request anything he wants though.

What are the current defenses in the system anyway?
>>
>>45837374
>But please, keep going as long as you're able to Jyoti. I missed my fix on Thursday and a sufficient dose of Spess Liches to last me the week.

Lmao. Same here. I spent time rereading some threads because there wasn't a thread Thursday.
>>
>>45837380
Very true, but the Voidsinger would always welcome advice from his officers and advisors.
(You guys, I can't come up with all the plans y'know)

Currently there is:
>1 Osjiic Hangar Heavy Cruiser
>1 Light Cruiser
>4 Frigates
>6 Corvettes
A light force but they are being held back by the powerful anti-ship cannons that are spread throughout the space city, likely retaken by the Confederates or even possibly the cyborgs.
>>
>>45837310
Let's overwhelm them as usually. Perhaps give Capitol ships to our new generals and have them blooded.
Speaking of which, they should start constructing their personal custom ships.
>>
>>45837310
ADvise the void singer of your wish's for them to claim the station, and advise they may request air support from Angona and Muic to assist in taking the station but it is up to them to clear and hold it.
>>
>>45837310
send Lorgul and his void knights, along side Angona to deal with the Osjiic fleet, want to capture as man voidsingers to increase the knightly order. Void disciples should be sent with the necrolytes to gain XP
>>
>>45837408
Let's send 2 carriers. 1 battleship. 2 battlecruisers. 4 heavy cruisers. 6 light cruisers. Numerous corvettes and frigates .
Standard M.O., overwhelm, board and capture. Let none escape. Then move to anti ship defenses of the space station.
While everyone is distracted. Have the legion infiltrate the station
>>
>>45837408
Let's have a shitload of our boats take out the Osijic fleet, and sneak in a crack team of Necrolytes onto the city with piercing nails and a couple of support gunships.

Seems the plans are
>Overwhelm the fleet (with your new generals?)

>The Necrolyte Legion infiltrates the space city with small teams to disable the anti-ship defenses and allow the larger Legion to board and take the city.

>Deal with the surface city and mining facilities after taking the city

Sound good to everyone?

Jor: And that was how our attempts to take over the confederate station, angered the lone Janitor who single handled turned back the legion and defeated our great lord Jaydk...

I'm liking the sound of this place. A mountainous island with port towns spread around its cost for Ructu to visit from afar. The island is hollowed out above and below sea level with extensions of Rapture like cities for them as well for the locals to withstand the hurricane seasons. This would also be used to "enlighten" the Ructu and help advance their culture both altruistically and selfishly.

Plainsrunners are similar to pic related. Tey're pretty fuckin huge, about fifteen feet at their tallest if they stood upright. Their front limbs though have evolved into arms and hands that fold against their chest when running. Vaguely centaur like in stance with their upper torso angled slightly upwards from their lower half.

>>45836079
Close to a million. There are several large cities along the coasts of the big continent with populations in the tens of thousands where traders from the islands gather but they avoid the deserts and jungles at the heart of it, too dry and far from the seas for their tastes but there are scattered nomadic tribes that roam the rivers. Most Ructu live on their villages in their islands but before the Ahkam came they were well on their way to uniting their various tribes in a sort of trade-empire that began to spread their unique gifts among each other.

Ok I need to call it here. I'm getting pretty dang tired and birds are screaming outside my window.

I hope folks had fun, I know I did. Thread is archived, please vote for it if you can.

Hope to see you all on Thursday. Looks to be an eventful start. I'll also be working on the Large Reconstructed stats (was meant to finish this thread but losing Thursday pushed it back) and the Void weaponry.

I'll also do the math to find out how many diggers we need to equalize our excavator ratio for optimum mining facilities as well and have that ready to vote on Thursday.

You can discuss troop or ship creation until the thread falls off and I'll make sure to check it.

Btw we should make a shitload of dirges. They'll be great in combat and for supporting our infrastructure

200 excavators.
We need 200 additional excavators, then we can have 5 mining factories.

May I also suggest building 20 harvester craft and two Omega harvesters so that we can combine the 40 craft we already have into 2 Omega fleets. And then order 3 more Omega fleets so that in the end we have total of 5 Omega fleets ordered.

Rukor capital city is a great idea. I like the idea of building single massive cities on worlds we control. That way we can facilitate internal trade between our worlds, improving interracial relations, economy and wealth of our subjects. It would also encourage sharing research ideas.
At very least Horizon Drop and Rukor can trade their respective foodstuff between each other.

We should build a capital city on stonestar planet too.
>>
>>45842402
That reminds me. We need to research shields for cities or just build ship shields into the cities

Might I also suggest having 1 capital city and a series of hidden outposts covered in aa turrets as a surprise for visitors
>>
>>45842402
but let the Lavafather make it

>>45843634
I figured that was how Rukor was going to be with Nekris secret base remaining secret
>>
Oh i completely forgot to mention so many times last night

The remaining Deathshead Guardian that was shot down by Jareth has not been recovered and it is unknown if the Guardian is still "alive" on the mining planet in the Necrolytes system
>>
>>45843714
We should probably send someone down to track him (or his remains). Perhaps we could send in our newest predator backed up by the necrolytes, they are the most familiar with the world by now.
