“Laura, it's a simple tubular key lock on the raised part of the restraint. You should be able to break it.” you tell Laura in a tone so that Ms Foss can't hear you.

“I understand husband.” Laura replies as she takes out a small pouch from her inventory.

While Ms Foss is being distracted by Jack and someone that must be her boss, Laura quickly opens the pouch to reveal a rather comprehensive set of lock picks. She quickly picks out the right lock pick and quickly goes to work. Charlotte seeing Laura picking the lock, moves in close to help conceal Laura.

“You seem pretty calm John. Do you like being tied up?” Charlotte asks with a teasing smile.

“I don't think this is the time for that Charlotte.” you answer, slightly distressed.

“This may be the perfect time to try something new.” Cecilia says, walking closer and closer to you. “I was just about to buy the key from Ms Foss, but this may actually be preferable.” Cecilia tells you as she slowly slides her finger along your abs.

“But the man should be the one to take the lead.” Houki cuts in with an embarrassed tone as she plays with her hair.

“John is much easier to handle this way. Isn't he Cecilia?” Charlotte asks while teasing you.

“He is.” Cecilia answers as she begins to press herself against your body.

“Thank you.” you reply, completely grateful for her excellent timing.

You quickly take the tray of clothes and take shelter behind the upright medical bed. Putting on your clothes as quickly as humanly possible while the girls look on with lewd expressions on their face. At least Irma politely looks away while you change.

Now clothed, you can't put feel a lot of stress leave your body.

You want answers and you want them now. You calm your mind and steel your resolve. You walk over to where Ms Foss is being chewed out by the older woman.

“So was it worth it?” you calmly ask once there was a break in the conversation.

“You have no idea how valuable this data is. Not only do we have concrete data of what can cause a Second Shift in an IS frame but there is also data on the black box that is the IS Core.” Ms Foss answers.

“You have to see it for yourself.” Chouhei adds, still tied up.

“Just give me a moment to set up the screen.” Ms Foss says as she walks over to a computer screen in front of Chouhei.

“Mr Smith, I am Rydia Cooley, CEO of Fairy Arms and Manufacturing. I will make sure Edith is thorough punished.” Rydia tells you with a stern voice.

“I would prefer we never speak of this ever again.” you tell her.

“Done.” Rydia tells you without any complaint.

“But then I won't be able to get a recording of you being hit with the net gun.” Rin complains.

“If there is footage of that, please make sure it is either destroyed or never sees the light of day.” you say to Rydia.

“Naturally.” Rydia replies.

“That's no fair.” Rin says, annoyed.

“Looks more than fair from my end. All you did was watch while I strapped in naked.” you reply.

“Now notice this wave pattern here?” Ms Foss asks while she is pointing it out on the screen. “This wave pattern is actually the typical waveform an IS pilot has when using an IS. But with the new data we have been able to split the wave pattern into 3 distinct patterns.” Ms Foss begins to explain but then waiting for something.

“Edith, you haven't untied me yet.” Chouhei says flatly.

Irma nods slightly in agreement.

Now that Chouhei is free, he quickly types out something on the keyboard that causes the the original wave pattern to diverge into 3 distinct patterns.

“These new wave patterns are the three different entities controlling an IS. ” Ms Foss explains.

“John is in red. Reinforce is in blue. And the Maeve is in purple.” Chouhei adds.

“So far we've been able to detect how all three react to one another and how they react to changes in the physical components of Maeve. And with all the previous data we have on John, compiling the data will greatly speed up our research.” Ms Foss explains.

“And how does this relate to the IS Core?” Rydia asks.

“And what? That Maeve decided to trust me because of my answer?” you ask.

“You spoke to her. Only Ms Fairs ever came close to that. But even when Ms Fairs mentioned taking care of her, I thought she was talking about Mary. Not that she was also talking about Silverio Gospel.” Chouhei answers.

“But if the Maeve trusts you enough to talk to you, that could mean your new found data linking ability is a result of that.” Ms Foss says as she furiously writes something down on her notes.

“John, has Major Walken talked to you in-depth since the Silverio Gospel incident?” Irma asks you.

“No.” you answer.

“Well, I'm not suppose to tell you this yet but the results from Silverio Gospel revealed that what ever caused it to go berserk has been fixed and patched. The techs don't know how or why until Major Walken had them compare it to Reinforce's and your programming. A majority of the code was oddly familiar to the two of your programming style.” Irma tells you.

“That would mean that data linking with John has patched a potential security hole in an IS?” Cecilia asks, realizing just how heavy those words are.

“He isn't a bug. John isn't someone that is a mistake and should be crushed and removed.” Houki says in a very low and cold voice as she tightly holds onto your hand.

“But that would mean on some level, John's able to interact with an IS Core.” Charlotte says, worry in her voice as if you are slowly losing yourself.

“I wouldn't go so far, we would have to if the programming code has changed. From the data we have so far, the connection only seems to peak during times of lethal combat.” Ms Foss explains.

“But what about when he is not using the Maeve? It could be effecting him while he's asleep.” Charlotte asks, worry and concern coloring her voice.

“Reinforce is looking out for him. And from what John has said, even the Maeve's IS Core is looking out for him.” Chouhei adds.

“Still.” Charlotte lets out, still worried.

“And that is why we should do more testing.” Ms Foss says enthusiastically.

“I think he has had enough for today.” Rydia says to douse Ms Foss' enthusiasm.

While Laura and Houki keep holding onto your hands, Charlotte also grabs onto your sleeve. You can tell from her expression that she is worried about you. Looks like the new information really hit her hard. You can see why, you are someone she relies on greatly for everything. If you suddenly take out her support, she'll come crashing down. But you know it won't come to that, Reinforce and Maeve along with everyone else has your back.

Upon entering the glass walled waiting room, Irma asks what you would like to drink. Naturally you answer with a black coffee. As the waiting intern gets your order ready, you collapse onto the rather nice looking couch. You don't have much in the way of leaning to either side as both Houki and Laura are sitting quite close to you.

“You know, while I don't mind being so close to both of you, I would like a little room.” you tell both of them.

“This is to make sure you don't get captured again.” Laura replies calmly.

“That's correct. This way I can cut down anyone that tries that again.” Houki adds confidently.

“Or get captured along with me.” you say lightly as a joke.

“What really concerns me is that security hole. If Silverio Gospel had one, then it would stand to reason that all other IS' have it.” Cecilia states after much thought.

“And if that happens to you, I'll be there to save you.” you tell her, sure of your decision.

“Of course. You are my knight.” Cecilia replies with a proud happiness.

Without much delay, your coffee came along with a large tray of snacks and slices of cakes. You end up eating three slices of cake with a bunch of cookies with your coffee. Looks like you were hungrier than you thought. All the while, Rin was quiet.

“How unlike you to stay quiet Rin.” you tease her.

“What is that suppose to mean? I've just been thinking.” Rin replies.

“Thinking about what?” you ask, curious about what has her so deep in thought.

“I was thinking about how all of this means with the Alaska Treaty.” Rin answers thoughtfully.

“You mean the Information Disclosure Article.” Cecilia says coolly.

“Yeah. When this gets out, everyone single person that uses an IS will want access to John. And there goes all time I'll have John buying me snacks and parfaits. Not to mention if the US actually reverse engineer an IS Core. Well, there goes the treaty.” Rin tells all of you.

“Then we will just have to limit their access to John.” Cecilia replies calmly.

“And make sure not a single one of those girls tries something with John.” Charlotte adds with an oddly cold smile.

“You know I'm here.” you say to remind them.

“I don't think it would get that far. Onee-chan would probably do something.” Houki states with a bit of worry at the edge of her words.

“It won't come to that.” Irma interjects. “We're adults and can talk things over like reasonable people. We went through the Cold War, getting past this should be easy.” Irma adds.

“That is right. The United Kingdoms and the United States are allies. It is naturally that the two of use would rely on each other.” Cecilia replies proudly.

“Everyone sitting here is my friend and ally. You know I have your back if anything happens, even if the world comes crashing down.” you calmly state, knowing you made this decision a long time ago.

“Just be sure you keep your hands where I can see them, you perv.” Rin says with a laugh.

And this is where everyone laughs. The stress and foreboding leaves the room as your continue to laugh. Everyone's mood improves as they remember how much they rely on each other.

Shortly after Irma's words, Jack opens the door.

“They're ready for you.” Jack says.

You get up along with everyone else and head back to the IS Maintenance area. Once back, the Maeve is wired up to even more diagnostic machines. Some under the direction of Chouhei, the others under Ms Foss. While Rydia kept a close eye on Ms Foss.

“One of the interesting changes the Maeve underwent is a separation in weapon and equipment bus slots.” Jack informs you.

“A split? How much of each?” you asks.

“2 bus slots for equipment and 6 for weapons.” Jacks answers.

You have a somewhat puzzled look before Charlotte explains it to you.

“Usually you have to factor in how the IS core manages the bus slot equipment and how it factors into the actual IS Frame itself. The differences between the two are how they fit into the IS frame.” Charlotte explains.

“I see. Before the Maeve's bus slots were interchangeable.” you comment.

“That was because at the time, the Maeve was largely open to additions and modifications. Now that she has Second Shifted, she won't be so flexible.” Chouhei tells you.

“So what do you want to start off with? The equipment or weapon bus slots?” Jack asks you.

You walk over to the console as Rin, Charlotte, Laura, Cecilia and Houki look over your shoulder. Activating the console, you notice that the old layout is gone. The new layout now shows your right and left wing pylon equipment.

Well, that's new. There are some new tags on the weapons now. You quickly look up what they mean. Twin-linked means that the weapon is twinned and equipped on both pylons. This means that they can be easily fired in tandem without using your hands. Locked means that the weapon cannot be removed and replaced by a different weapons. Upgrades to the current weapon are allowed. Built-in means that the weapon is built into the pylon frame and cannot be removed. Upgrading a built-in weapon means it undergoes a similar process as a full subsystem does. Extendable means the weapon in question can extend for additional effectiveness.

Witchcraft recoil-less rifle – A French designed recoil-less rifle that has been modernized for IS use. At only 90mm, it has a slow rate of fire but trades this off for allowing different kinds of munitions to be used. (HESH, APHE, APFSDS, HEAT, Air-bursting canister shell)

All Direction Multipurpose missile Blister pack- A missile blister pack that utilizes micromissiles for target saturation. Range is limited but the amount of missiles in the magazine and available to fire make up for this.

Grunder “Hyperthene” Multipurpose burst missile launcher- From Grunder Industries, the Hyperthene missiles is a area denial burst missiles that was originally equipped on the Maeve. After your use of the Zoisite ATL rifle, they have made it available for your use. It may be a slower than your average missile but makes it up for a lasting area of effect

Grunder promise more weapons for use their weapons I think...

We don't know what we're up against, and we're doing a general build, so stuff for mixed ranges and applications. And this is on top of the locked weapons.

We/The Maeve aren't exactly a specialist but rather something that adjusts to our team/enemy.

You feel pretty comfortable with your current load out. But with the extra weapon slot, you decide to put in the Edge Missile Launcher. The Razor CIWS has been useful for both distraction, missile interception and spraying the target full of lead. The All Direction Multipurpose Missile blister pack has been useful ever since you installed it. Saturation fire, projectile interception and missile swarming have been used to great effect. The Witchcraft Recoil-less rifle hasn't been used much by you but when you need a specialty shell, the recoil-less rifle comes in. It's utility cannot be understated. As for the Edge Missile Launcher, you have some ideas for that. Having a far longer range of than the ADM missiles means you have a longer range option that isn't your Gram or Fragarch. And with how you can data link now, there is potential to have one of the girls paint the target for augmenting their firepower.

“Not much different than before.” Rin comments.

“Once you find a setup you really like, you can't help but stick with it.” Charlotte replies.

“I would have preferred if you picked the Laser rifle. That way, we could be using a similar weapon together.” Cecilia says with a touch of disappointment.

“A wide range of weapons to cover any perceived future opponent or situation, I approve.” Laura tells you with approval in her voice.

“You need more than one sword, John. There is a serious lack of swords and melee options for you.” Houki states flatly.

Maybe this is why when ever your family chooses their equipment, they only let you know AFTER they have made their selection.

“The current weapon selection has proven quite useful both in combat and during an IS Duel.” Reinforce chimes in.

“You'll find the equipment slots on the next page.” Jack informs you as he watches over the techs bring in the box containing the Edge missile launcher.

Going to the next page, you see the new layout and available space you have.

*Experimental Tactical Data Link – US Army experimental equipment. Originally used and tested on the Fang Quake to allow data sharing between units to limited effectiveness. Problems with interfacing and organizing the data on an IS proved difficult. But for you, the increase in bandwidth between IS' would be extremely useful. Not only allowing for more IS to be data linked together but potentially allowing data linked IS to share weapons between each other.

*Experimental Strategic Data Uplink – US Army experimental equipment. Originally used on the leading unit of the Fang Quake to link up to the full data sharing network of the US Military. Unfortunately due to the mysterious nature of IS Cores, this piece of equipment proved largely unusable. The reason cited was a mix of outright rejection and incompatible communication protocols. While you may not get full access to the US Mutli-tactical data link, the data provided from US Military satellites and from permitting US assets would prove a massive strategic boon. If you were to ever fight a war.

Modified Maeve Shield Capacitor – Fairy Arms and Manufacturing. Modifications made to a stock Maeve shield capacitor based on the data of Lieutenant Irma Thesleff have allowed an increase in the Maeve's shield capacitor bank amount without any failure or loss. While a simple upgrade, more shield strength is something that is always useful.

Auxiliary Artificial Gravity Engine – A modified IS artificial gravity engine. The specific modification are primarily around supplementing the primary AG engine in an IS to allow sharper maneuvers and greater control over when flying. If used, it would reduce any recoil or turbulence when using weapons and allow your already highly maneuverable Maeve even more extreme high speed maneuvers.

Blake Weapon capacitor – Blake Energistic. A bank of capacitors tied together to the weapon systems to allow a chosen weapon an overcharged firing option. While overcharging, the weapon would have more power for a limited amount of time before the capacitor bank must be recharged.

Morganite Advanced ECM suite – Grunder Industries. After your use of the Zoisite Laser Rifle, Grunder Industries have been looking forward to you using more of their licensed equipment. The Morganite Advanced ECM suite is the same used on their Morgan IS. The ECM suite increases enemy lock on time while providing a passive missile deflection system. This system would force an IS into either getting closer to hit or to content with a target that requires a massive expenditure of ordnance to successfully hit.

Since I forgot to mention this, but the Experimental Tactical Data Link and Experimental Strategic Data Uplink cannot be easily switched out. Previously Iris mentioned that only a factory with high enough clearance would allow you to install or uninstall it. In light of this, I'll extend the vote time for a bit.

The Tactical Data link looks far too useful to let pass go. Even if you can't remove it for a while, augmenting the Maeve's unique strength will prove worthwhile. And thinking over it, the Morganite Advanced ECM suite will add a new and different layer of protection against enemy IS'. Making it even harder to hit you seems like it will be better than a straight up increase in shield strength.

“I should see if there are any system upgrades for my Blue Tears.” Cecilia thinks to herself.

“No fair. Why do you get to select all your equipment.” Rin complains with a frustrated tone.

“I wonder if that ECM would be useful for my IS.” Charlotte wonders out loud.

“Don't worry John, if you are hurt, I'll be able to easily protect you with my AIC, armor and shields.” Laura tells you proudly.

“It sounds nice if I could install an upgrade that would improve the Fold-Out Armor on my Akatsubaki.” Houki comments.

With the Edge Missile launcher already installed, Chouhei, Ms Foss and the support crew quickly work on installing the new equipment.

“While they are installing the upgrades, why don't you get changed into your IS Uniform. You'll probably want to test everything out.” Irma suggests.

“That sounds great.” you reply as a bit of excitement reaches your voice.

Irma leads the way to the changing room. You notice before you enter that the Locker Room is for women only.

“Don't worry, I'm usually the only one that regularly uses it.” Irma tells you.

“If you say so.” you reply with a touch of reluctance.

Inside the changing room, you take your bag you had prepared with your IS uniform. You don't understand why Houki, Cecilia, Charlotte, Laura and Rin are also in here with you.

“Why are you all in here?” you ask.

“To also change into our IS uniforms.” Cecilia answers..

“Why?” you ask.

“For testing of course. You would need another IS to test the data linking capabilities.” Charlotte answers with a reassuring tone.

“That is true.” you reply matter of factly.

“Yeah, someone has to test how well that ECM suite works.” Rin tells you with a rather menacing grin.

You sigh as you accept their reasoning. You quickly change into your IS uniform while trying to ignore the girls changing behind you. Ignoring the way the bend and lean over as they put on the IS uniform. The way the fabric stretches and presses against their skin. The tautness around their chests and butt or the way the IS uniform clings to their skin. You can't help but think back to earlier today when Houki, Cecilia and Charlotte brushed their hands and body against you. And now just behind you, they are various states of undress, their bare skin to be seen so very easily. You focus on finish changing.

Seeing as you are the first one to finish changing, you leave the changing room. Naturally you steal a few glances as you leave. You'll have a better opportunity to tease and get them back at a later time.

Heading back to the IS Maintenance area, they have already finished installing the Morganite ECM suite and the experimental TDL.

“We just have to check the fitting and see if everything is correct.” Chouhei tells you.

“Reinforce has already connected to our network so there is no problems with the data stream.” Ms Foss tells you.

“Ready Reinforce?” you ask before you enter the Maeve.

“I'm ready.” Reinforce answers.

You put on the Maeve and check all the systems. The DNI effortless connects your and Reinforce's thought together. The edges of your vision are distorted before you and Reinforce correct them. Looks like they also did some maintenance work on the Maeve after they did the diagnostic.

“Jack are you seeing this?” Chouhei asks.

“This data. Looks like Grunder won't be the only one with an DNI.” Jack answers with awe in his voice.

“What about any medical concerns?” Rydia asks cooly.

“Not seeing any. If anything, the DNI is automatically correcting any errors that occur from the incorrect settings.” Ms Foss answers, focused on her terminal.

Fitting is quickly finished as everyone goes over any sort of error or misalignment found. Reinforce and you mentally make sure everything is just right. Along with making sure the link to the Fairy Arms is secure and solid.

“I can't wait to see her fly.” Jack says excitedly.

“We'll move over to the observation room to monitor your flight.” Chouhei tells you.

“I'll be in my lab to monitor your data.” Ms Foss tells you as you launch from the platform.

Leaving the IS docking station, you are lead out to back where an opening is. You can feel Reinforce being a bit forlorn as she leaves her sister, Elna, on the other IS station. You reassure her, that she'll be able to talk to her later. If anything the data collected may allow her to speak like Reinforce does.

Now outside, you slowly take off from the ground and reach out to the skies. Everything is performing as it should. Once at the appropriate altitude you activate all of you systems.

“This is great. The data we are getting will be a massive help in further development.” Chouhei tells you over the comms.

“Why don't you take her out for a spin, John? The air space has already been cleared for your use.” Jack asks.

“That sounds great.” you answer as you make your way to the testing air space.

The expert spread of laser beams pass behind you as a mysterious female voice speaks over the open comms, “Yo buddy, still alive?”
