>Monday, March 6th 2016

You're sweating more than usual. Sure, you've dreamed of this moment since you were a little kid. Sure, you've spent the last two years practising and training your ass off. Sure, it's a crowd of 40 people max in a tiny bingo hall. But deep down, you always knew you wouldn't be fully prepared for your first real match in front of a live crowd.

Your name is Robin Winters. You just hit 18 years old, and standing a 5'9'' and weighing 180lbs, you don't have much going for you in the eyes of most wrestling bookers. You do have one card in your hand; you are a recent graduate of The Wanderer's Dojo, the wrestling school opened by none other than Kevin Hickland, familiar to most wrestling fans as Kevin Omega, six-time Universal Pro Wrestling Champion, and widely regarded as the finest performer of his generation. It was the dojo's name value that managed to land you and a few other graduates a spot on a local independent card. If all goes well and you impress some people, you might actually have a pretty decent career on your hands. You could make it to the very top of the mountain, get signed by UPW, become world champion, win the main event of Starrcade with 100,000 screaming fans chanting your name, retire at 40, get inducted into the Hall of Fame, have the boyhood dream come true. If you don't impress tonight... well, you don't want to think about that. Either way, today is the first day of the rest of your life. Time to make history.

You think back on a piece of advice from Omega while you were training at the dojo. "Kid, the second you step through that curtain, you've got to let yourself be overcome by your character. Sure, the whole business is a work to you, but to your character, it's as real as real can be. The moment that crowd's eyes are on you, you have to stop thinking in terms of yourself and become someone else, got it?" You recall the character you and Omega worked on in training, which the two of you simply named "The Ace". You've been playing a prototypical badass hero, straight out of some kind of cartoon or anime. Omega said it wouldn't be too hard for you to make it work, because you've got that "likeable" look about you.

Of course, The Ace doesn't exist just yet. For now, you're merely Robin Winters, having a crisis of confidence. After all, what good is The Ace if Robin Winters isn't good for shit? You try to instill some faith in yourself, remembering the evaluation you had received once you had graduated from the dojo. In it, Omega outlined three particular skills you excelled in during your training.

>[PICK THREE]
>STRIKING: The power of your punches and kicks
>TECHNICAL: Your prowess of chain-wrestling and counters
>SUBMISSION: Your ability to pull of dangerous submission manoeuvres
>FLYING: The Ability to fly through the air with the greatest of ease and pull off breathtaking dives
>CHARISMA: The Gift of the gab. Nothing helps gain the fans support/disdain and build momentum better than charisma
>POWER: Your raw strength, and ability to pull off devastating power moves
>DIRTY: It takes skill to cheat. Your ability to bend and break the rules in your favour.
>PSYCHOLOGY: Understanding the flow of a match and ring awareness. Every little thing that goes into being a true ring general.
>HARDCORE: Weapons are your friend. Your ability to pull off moves with foreign objects
>TOUGHNESS: You can take some punishment and just keep coming. Your resistance to pain.

>YOUR TECHNICAL, CHARISMA, AND TOUGHNESS SKILLS BEGIN AT RANK 2! THE REST REMAIN AT RANK 1.

You calm yourself down, taking account of your strengths between the ropes. You have a gift for chain wrestling, a knack for talking smack, and you can take a pretty good beating. Soon, you'll get better in all regards of wrestling, but for now this is what you have to go on.

Your opponent, a local chump by the name of Joe Glass is already in the ring as you stand by the curtain. Peering through, you can see the in-house band preparing to play the theme music you prepared. You take in your last breath as Robin Winters and breathe your first as The Ace. You walk out onto the stage.

You hold your Kendo stick over your left shoulder and throw your right fist into the air, index finger stretched out into "Number One" signal. After all, you are The Ace. The small crowd seems to be into that, as you get a slight pop as a group in the front row bop along with your music.

You roll into the ring, placing your kendo stick by the ring steps. The following contest has DQ in effect, as you take on "Fragile" Joe Glass. Not the most challenging of first opponents, but a pretty good target to show off your skills on.

The ring bell goes off as the match is underway. The two competitors circle each-other before locking up, both men jockying to get the early advantage in the match.

You bring Joe back to the mat, and start working on his body, trapping him in a Surfboard Stretch position. You wear down on Joe as he yells in pain, but let go once it becomes clear that a simple stretch won't be enough to warrant a tap-out. Worn out, Joe crumples to the floor as you feel a surge of momentum go through you. You've reached that point in the match. You have enough momentum on your side to pull out the most powerful manoeuvre in your arsenal. Taught to you by Kevin Omega himself in the Dojo, it serves as your current finishing move.

You raise Joe to his feet after your initial celebrations. A few people in the crowd, and it seems Joe himself, think you're about to demolish him further until you raise his hand in a show of respect. Joe looks dumbfounded as you roll out of the ring and make your way to the back. Back to reality. Back to Robin Winters.

Joe pats you on the back as he steps through the curtain. "Good work out there, New guy," he says to you, "but what was with raising my hand after? You didn't need to make me look good, too. Sometimes it's just best to just worry about yourself sometimes."

"Yeah, whatever..." Joe mumbled as he walked off, while you patted yourself down with a towel. It was a short match, but it was much more physical than you had originally thought. You look around for the bottle of water you left behind before the match, only to find it being dangled in front of you by a very familiar and very pretty face.

"Looking for this?" Kimberly Cross teased. Kimberly was a fellow graduate of The Wanderer's Dojo, and quite possibly your closest friend in the business... not that you really have any friends in the business. "You looked great out there, Ace. But honestly I think the crowd were just cheering for that kickass theme they gave you." She stook out her tongue and laughed. "So, did you catch MY match?"

You hadn't. Kimberly worked the opening match on the card as her Princess Cross character, while your match against Joe Glass was next up.

We've finally made it... okay, we haven't made it yet. There's still a long way to go, but you get my point, right? Anyway, Fisk has a match up next. You stick around backstage and watch the rest of the match on the card.

>"Kingpin" David Fisk def. Jimi Sierra
This one was a squash through and through. Fisk just tossed his opponent around the ring for a while, hit a big boot, then kept the jobber down for the three count with his Kingpin Buster finshing move. Fisk came across as a total monster, unsurprisingly.

>The Ghouls def. The Hooligans
A classic old-school tag match featuring a pair of interesting gimmick teams. Two soccer hooligans go toe-to-toe with a pair of zombie brothers for 15 minutes. Only in pro-wrestling.

>MAIN EVENT: Owen Barnes def. Adam Black to retain TWA Title
The Main Event was something to behold. Owen Barnes and Adam Black are two of the biggest names on the independent circuit, with both young men apparently being scouted by UPW. Owen had just finished a tour in Japan and brought that stiff striking style along with him, while Adam was pulling out ridiculous technical transitions and submission moves. The two men went over 20 minutes, before Owen retained with an out-of-nowhere roll-up for the win.

We should get pizza. Pizza is the superior food. I mean, we just had our first match, we should celebrate.
>>

You applaud the finish to the main event from the back, when you are approached by John Steinberg, TWA's owner and head booker. "Here's you paycheck, kid. I wasn't sure about having a bunch of kid on the show just because they were trained by a big name, but you all impressed tonight. I'll be in touch. Word of advice though, I'd get some gear that really stands out for the next show. Maybe even a mask or some facepaint. You're supposed to be a superhero, after all. Plain black tights just aren't going to cut it." With that he hands you an envelope containing $100 and makes his way over to Owen Barnes, shaking the young man's hand as he walks from behind the curtain.

Kimberly springs up from behind you. "Now that's a paycheck, Ace! I think I'm ordering big tonight!"

>Sorry Princess, but I'm going to need to save this money for gear, maybe next time.
>I think I'm going to order light. Don't want to waste my first paycheck right away.
>[FLIRT] That chinese restaurant is a total rip. There's a pizza in my freezer I've been saving for just this occasion. What do you say?

Gotta look out for number one. Plus I want to keep that pizza to ourselves. Mmm, pizza.

Kimberly blushed and laughed off the request. "Maybe next time, Ace. My sister's staying at my place this week, and since she doesn't have any keys, she kinda needs me around the place." The two of you walked to the car park, as she hugged you goodbye for the night. "I'll probably see you around the gym tomorrow. I mean, if you actually care about this whole wrestling thing," she joked, before getting into her car.

You drive back to your one-bedroom apartment in the city. As you turn the key in the lock and open the door, you feel a stiff ache in your shoulder. Just something you'll have to get used to in this business. It tends to take a lot out of you. Before retiring for the night, you decide to set out food for;

laziness is real for most people. Don't see the point in not using proper grammar though, or the point of correcting someone's grammar on 4chan for that matter. Since tone is not conveyed through text, I don't mean to offend anyone by saying this.

You toss a couple dried crickets in Maslow's habitat before heading off to bed to rest for the night.

>TUESDAY, MARCH 7th 2016

You stretch and yawn as you pull yourself out of bed, fresh and ready for a brand new day. You fry up a couple eggs for breakfast, eating them alongside a couple slices of toast. You were so concerned about last night's show, you didn't really make any plans for the day. There's always the gym, of course, but for now you have time to do some things around your apartment. What do you do?

You decide to catch up on all the latest news and rumors in the wrestling world. Opening up the homepage of WorldWrestlingNewsletter.com, you find yourself reading the top headlines.

>KEVIN OMEGA TO RETIRE?
As we all know, Starrcade is this month, and we will see long-time veteran Kevin Omega taking on a man who has solidified himself as the face of the company these last two years, Johnny Mercer, for the latter's UPW World Title. What we don't know, is the status of the 43-year old Omega's career after this big-time main event, with many saying that this is one last hurrah for the living legend before he retires full time to focus more on his wrestling school. Expect a retirement stipulation to be added to the match in the coming weeks.

>OWEN BARNES SIGNED?
It's been rumoured for months, but it seems that UPW are closing in on a deal with former Ultimate Japan Grand Prix Champion Owen Barnes, especially with Barnes being spotted in public with UPW United States Champion, Molly Law. The 22-year old has broken out as the biggest name on the independents in recent years despite his young age, and his stint in Japan only solidified the man as a World Class talent. With his wrestling skills and boundless charisma, UPW would be foolish not to push him as a main event face. However, we do know that regardless of his current deal with UPW, Barnes is dedicated to finishing any independent dates he still has in his schedule before making the jump.

>ADACHI: "I WOULD NEVER LEAVE JAPAN"
In a recent interview with UJGP Champion Kota Adachi, he stated that he has no interest in wrestling in the states. "Japan is my home. Japan Grand Prix is my home. Why would I leave it?" This is sure to sink more than a few avid fan's dream matches and fantasy booking scenarios.
>>
>>45850562
It's pretty comforting to see the rumour mill carrying on as usual. You yourself don't know whether your trainer Omega is on the brink of retirement. In your own opinion, the man could probably go another three or four years full time.

Anyway, you've browsed the net for long enough, better get to something else before you're stuck looking at your computer screen all day.

You pull out your phone and decide to call your mother. As you expected, the call went to the answering machine. It always does. "Hey mom, I'm just calling to let you know that I had my first match last night. Look, I know you don't approve of wrestling, I remember how much you tried to talk me out of wrestling school, but last night was one of the best nights of my life, and I think things are finally starting to pick up. I love you, mom. Goodbye." You sigh as you finish the call, wondering if your mother will even bother to listen to the message.

No use dwelling on that, though, because it's about time you left the apartment. Now, what do you want to do today?

What we getting? Mask? Cape? if mask I like Something like this but with more face covering and a reference to the Ace of Spades
>>

We can totally do both today right?

>>45851127
Just think, when we get big enough we can have four masks with a different suit on each one.

I for one think we should go heart or diamond, but thats just me.

I think we should go with a more traditional wrestling mask, like this one, while still incorporating the ace into our ring gear.

>>45851272
I think Ace of Spades because it shows we think of ourself as the top guy.
>>
>>45851313
I guess. But Ace of Spades is kinda the heel of cards, isn't it? I guess is depends what type of face we'll be.

>FUNDS: 100$

You drive to a store in the city you know that specialises in wrestling outfits and costumes. Pretty niche product, but they manage to stay running. The Cashier points you in the direction of their current available stock.

>FACE
Eye Paint [Choose Color] - 10$
Ace of Spades eye paint - 30$

Ace of Spades Mask - 90$

Plain t-shirt [Choose Color] - 15$
Ace of Spades t-shirt - 45$
Plain Jacket [Choose Color] - 20$
Ace of Spades Jacket - 60$

>LOWER BODY

Ace of Spades trunks - 30$
Plain Tights [Choose Color] - 15$
Ace of Spades Tights - 45$
Kickpads - 10$

I always took Ace of Diamonds to be that. Greed and all that.

Also, we need to have a stable where we have four people that are all one of the suits (that's the word, right?).
>>
>>45851416

How many days worth of fighting does the eye paint work for?

For that matter, how often do we expect that we'll need to replace our clothes?
>>
>>45851416

I'm thinking:

Plain Lucha Mask (blue)

Plain Jacket (blue)

Ace of Spades Tights
>>
>>45851416
Assuming we still owe Chinese, lets not go overboard.

>Ace of Spades Trunks
>White T-Shirt
>Plain Blue Mask

>>45851424
You raise an excellent point. If we can form a stable, that would be awesome. Though I do still like keeping reserve masks.
>>
>>45851416
I don’t even think we need a face mask, people have already seen us. I'd say

Ace of Spades t-shirt (45$)

Ace of Spades tights (45$)

Kickpads ($10)

Total 100$
>>
>>45851534
Reserve masks would also be pretty cool. We could be like Mysterio and switch up every match.
>>
>>45851565
Or no shirt at all. Just tights and boots
>>
>>45851416
Ace of Spades Mask - 90$ (Someone has to vote for it)
Barring that Cobalt Plain Lucha Mask
and Ace of Spades Tights - 45$
>>
>>45851795
we only have $100
>>
>>45851847
I think they meant to say if we don't get the ace of spades mask then get the lucha mask and the ace tights

As you enter through the main doors of the gym, you are welcomed at the door by Kimberly. "Geez, took you long enough! What took you so long today?"

You fill Kimberly in on your day so far. "What a co-incidence!" she exclaims, "I actually grabbed some new ring gear for myself, too! That place is great." She yawns and stretches. The tight shorts of her exercise gear are... distracting, to say the least. "So, what are you planning on training today?"

"Huh, who with?" you ask, as excited as you are curious.

"Well, another one of Omega's kids impressed last night working as a heel, so I figured I'd stick the two of you together! Friday night, it'll be The Ace going up against... Princess Cross!"
