Welcome back to WrestleQuest! Last thread, you helped your fellow Dojo Graduate "Kingpin" David Fisk chase off a few drug pushers, and earned a new connection as a result! You are now one day removed from your next match, against your best friend "Princess" Kimberly Cross.
>THURSDAY, MARCH 10th 2016

You rise out of bed, ready to start a brand new day. You have a quick breakfast as you ponder on how to spend the day.

[+1 POINT TO STRIKING]

You take to the punching bag and start working on developing your strikes further. After a rigorous session, you decide to call it a day, and get changed to go home. Taking your cellphone out of the bag, you discover two new messages have been left for you. You open them up and read them.

>From: Kimberly
>Hi Ace, heading out 2 the club 2nite. U coming with? x

You roll your eyes. Kimberly's been trying to drag you out to a nightclub for a while now, but you've never had the time. You check out the next message.

>From: David Fisk
>Bar. Tonight.

You close your phone over as you gather your bags and make your way out of the gym. Two new options on how to spend the night have arisen.

[WHAT DO YOU DO?]

You decide it's best to take it easy the night before the show, and go back to your apartment in order to view the newest edition of Ultimate Japan Pro-Wrestling. The Main Event of the evening is a six-man tag team match, as the team headed by Ultimate Wrestling Grand Prix champion Kota Adachi comes out on top over The Machine Crew, a group of Gaijin heels led by Canadian wrestler Eric Alpha. It was a pretty enjoyable show, and you are able to relax after a solid week of training. As the show comes to a close, you check out the messages on your phone.

>From: Kimberly

>From: David Fisk
>Not coming out? Whatever.

You shrug your shoulders as you decide to go to bed. You've got a big day ahead of you tomorrow.
>FRIDAY, MARCH 11 2016

You wake up in the morning to discover another message on your phone from Kimberly.

>From: Kimberly
>Hi Johnny Mercer's doin an autograph thing in town 2day. Thought u might be interested. x

You rise out of bed, deciding the best course of action for the day. The show isn't until evening, after all.

>CITY MALL, GEEK STORE
You meet up with Kimberly outside of a geeky merchandise store in the mall where the autograph signing is taking place. You see there is already quite a sizeable line ahead of the two of you.

"Geez, remember when wrestling was considered something cool?" Kimberly joked. "Still, I guess I'd prefer our stereotypical fan be a nerd than a redneck..."

"I wonder what the UPW World Champion's doing signing autographs in a place like this, anyway? So close to Starrcade, too." you ponder.

"Eh, he probably owes the store-owner a favour. Besides, every story of Mercer is that he's a real nice guy. Probably wouldn't turn down a gig like this."

You wait in line with Kimberly until you finally reach the front on the line, where Mercer is hunched over the table, doodling on a pad. He looks pretty worn out, and there are two security guards at his side. He looks up and fixes the baseball cap he has on to get a good look at you. At 6'2'' and 250lbs, the man comes across even bigger in person. "Hey man, what's do you want?" he asks with a smile.

>Tell him you're also a wrestler
>Ask him for an autograph
>Ask for him to put in a good word for you

You hand over your dvd copy of Starrcade 2005, the first Starrcade that Mercer ever Main Evented, winning the UPW title for the first time against "Blackjack" Justin Hawk. Mercer glanced at the DVD cover for a moment before smiling and signing the case. "Boy, that was a terrible match. It took a long time after my first push before I actually learned to, you know, wrestle." He then turned his attention to you and Kimberly "So, what are your names?"

"I'm Robin, and she's Kimberly," you answer. "We're wrestlers ourselves, actually. Just starting out."

"Oh really? Should I be worried you're going to take this from me?" He laughed as he patted the UPW title belt, which was wrapped around his waist. You laugh as well. "So, where'd you train? Anywhere I might have heard of?"

"We actually were trained by a guy you know pretty well. Kevin Omega."

"Huh, really? So you two are his kids? He's spoken very highly of his graduates you know. I've heard nothing but good things. Keep on working, and I might actually be sharing the ring with you some day."

>Thank you. It would be a real honour.
>Trust me, that'll be sooner than you think.
>Oh yeah? I can't wait for the day I can take that title off of your hands!

"Heh, I can imagine the story now... the students of Kevin Omega come to UPW to seek revenge on one of their master's greatest rivals! Now that'll put butts in seats!" Mercer laughed and smiled. "Anyway, the line behind you is getting longer, so I think I might need to speed things up a little. Good luck with the whole... career thing. It's a hell of a business."

You and Kimberly walk out of the store, satisfied with the encounter with the biggest current star in wrestling, no matter how brief the meeting was. Your good mood is shattered by a familiar voice calling out to you.

"Hey look everyone, it's the fangirls!" You turn your head to see a garishly dressed man your age, decked out with a bedazzled silver jacket, bright orange leg-hugging jeans and a pair of over-sized headphones slung around his neck. "Diamond" Danny Gable, the top student of your graduating class at the Dojo. While it was true the guy did have a lot of talent, his grating personality and goofball nature certainly outweighed it. "Or should I say Omega's SECOND best student, and his... well, I don't think Princess even makes the rankings!" He smirked and placed a hand on his hip.

"You know the difference between you guys and me? The two of you wait in line for a wrestler's autograph like a bunch of kids when you could be making that... DOLLA!" He reaches into his pocket, pulls out his wallet, fiddles with the latch until it opens, pulls out a handful of 1$ bills which he scatters to the ground in an attempt to make it rain. The whole bit took far too long of a set-up to really be effective.

>Nothing wrong with meeting up with a big star like Mercer. Just because we're wrestlers doesn't mean we have to stop being fans.
>The two of us actually do have a job tonight.
>And what are you doing here, if you aren't attending the autograph signing?

"You're never going to make it if you keep looking up to people like a fanboy! You think stars look up to anything?" Danny asked. "Nah! They're stars! They can't look up to anything! There's nothing above them to look at! Stars are as high as it goes! Point is, you'll never be a star if you don't put yourself first! Understand, dude?"

"That might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard," Kimberly replied, "but something tells me you're going to top it if we stick around talking to you. Come on, let's go Ace."

"More like Deuce, am I right!" Danny yelled as Kimberly began to drag you away by the hand. She turned her head and glared at Danny, who took a few steps back in fear.

"Ugh, what a dweeb," Kimberly placed her hand to her head. "I can't believe he graduated top of our class."

>Don't worry, we'll surpass him soon enough.
>He's a total idiot, but I don't think he's that bad. He did well in the Dojo for a reason.
>Honestly, I think the guy's just misunderstood.

"If you say so," Kimberly mutters, "I just think he's a total goof. He doesn't even need to play a character in the ring!"

The two of you walk out of the mall, as Kimberly checks the time on her phone. "Shit, we should probably get to the arena, show isn't long away. I didn't realise how long we spent in there... looks like it's already time we did this. You ready?" You nod as the two of you hop in your car and drive to the High School Gymnasium in which the TWA show is being held.

>NIGHT OF THE SHOW
After spending most of the week training, it's time for you to step back into the ring as The Ace once more. You stand by the backstage curtain when the TWA's resident ring announcer approaches you. A middle aged balding man. "Hey, you did great on Monday night. I just felt I should ask. Last show I announced you as being from New York, cause... well, you are from New York. But do you want me to bill you from anywhere in particular? Japan? Mexico? Parts Unkown? Delaware?"

"Okay then, we're good to go," the announcer said, as he pulled back the curtain slightly to let himself through. "You're on first. I'll let the band know."

You throw a few punches in the air to psyche yourself up before stepping out from behind the curtain. The Band starts playing as you pose on the entrance way.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSQwI3rDETk

From behind the curtain, out comes Princess Cross with a smirk on her face. She is sporting a small silver crown on her head with a pink streak running through her lengthy blonde hair, but otherwise is decked out in light magenta wresting top, shorts and thick knee-high boots. Makes sense, Princess Cross is a woman who acts dainty and regal, but is an aggressive villain in the ring.

>"HAILING FROM THE HIGHEST SOCIETY... PRINCESS CROOOOSS!"

Princess performs a formal curtsey, before making her way into the ring, ready to get the action underway.

You pull Princess Cross away from the corner and set her up to lock in a surfboard stretch submission. The Princess struggles heavily, but you manage to lock it in and hold her in the position for a moment, before your grip loosens and you have to set her free, letting her crumple back to the floor of the mat.

With Cross down on the mat, you see an opportunity to go for a bigger move, as you leap up for a devastating elbow drop. The move would have done some serious damage had it connected, but The Princess just about manages to roll out of the way. You clutch your elbow as you return to your feet, seeing Cross come at you with a running clothesline attempt.

>[ROLL D20]

I think I'll take now as a time to explain the basic mechanic of matches, because I haven't really mentioned it until now. When you're on the offensive, you're rolling for the damage of the chosen attack. When you're on the defensive, you roll to counter your opponent's attack. The same goes for your opponents on the other end, as I roll for them privately. I'm mentioning this now because Kimberly rolled a 20 for her counter.

Princess Cross takes you down with a running clothesline, sending you crashing down to the mat. She takes a quick bow, much to the crowd's disdain. With the sudden rush from her reversal, The Princess' agression is now awakened, as she delivers a trio of stomps to your downed body before going for a leaping Elbow Drop of her own.

You manage to roll out of the way of Cross' own elbow drop, using the ring ropes as leverage to pull yourself up faster than usual. There is a stand-off between you and the Princess, as the crowd starts to get into the match, clapping along faster and faster before the two of you both go for the offensive at the same time.

Cross is dazed and hurts as she uses the ropes to pull herself to her feet, as she stumbles towards you, only to be hit with a stiff kick to the gut from you, which causes her to double over.

If she's starting to get gassed, we might've gotten too rough on her.

You wrap your arms around the neck of Princess Cross and drive her head first into the mat. ACE CRUSHER CONNECTS! Cross is laid out on the ground as you roll her over for the pin.

1... 2... 3!

*DING DING*

>"HERE IS YOUR WINNER... THE AAAAAAAACE!"

The Band hits your music as you rise to your feet and the Princess rolls out of the ring. You throw a fist into the air, but don't have much time to celebrate, as you are attacked from behind by two assailants!

Your gothic looking attackers are quickly recognised as TWA tag team The Ghouls, who are viciously booed by the crowd as the lay the boots to you. One of the two Ghouls proceeds to drag you to you feet and lift you up, putting you in position for the brother's signature tag team finisher, the Assisted Tombstone Piledriver! The Ace is completely laid out in the middle of the ring as the show segment comes to an end.

And that's it for tonight! Let me know what you think! See you next thread!

Well that explains our rolls
>>
>>45893666
I wonder if Fisk would join us?
He could really help us with this.
>>
>>45893666
Aww yeah! Our first fued! And then back to SoL adventures between faces and heels.

Good thread as always!

Question for you, how many are on the TWA roster? Out of curiosity.
>>
>>45893851
Also, really enjoyed the fight. Had some good energy, and the system flows pretty well, now that you have explained it.
>>
>>45893851
As a small independent, TWA tends mainly to bring in whichever workers on the scene they can afford and can work one of their shows. That said, TWA has about 15 regulars who appear on most shows.
>>
>>45893923
Neat! Hope we can get the chance to name our moves when not working a match. We had some good ideas so far, I think.
>>
That was cool
>>
>>45893923
Is TWA recorded or is it live only. it would suck for our image later on if there are recordings of the Aces Face.
