Welcome back, friends, to Exorcism Quest! When we left off, Junior Exorcist Marcus had entered the town of Grandton, which is currently infested by spirits! After meeting Death, slaying Bloody Mary, and rescuing his first Survivor, Marcus is on his way to defeat the first Great Spirit taking control of the town, The Magician.

-----------------------------------

You dash up the steps to the third floor, and as you ascend the walls gradually change. At first, the air gets hot and humid, reeking of rotting flesh and saliva. Slowly, the walls become streaked with gore, and then tendrils of thin, gooey flesh.

As you open the door to the third floor, with some effort, you notice the majority of doors are covered with the same flesh from the stairwell. One door is open, though, and you hear a voice from within.

"H-help! Somebody help! Please, before one of those things comes back!"

It sounds like a young woman.

You call out to her. "Come out here! I'm an Exorcist, I'm here to help!"

The voice goes quiet... and she tentatively steps out. She's clad in a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt for some show you've never seen.

"Oh thank god! I... I thought I was going to die here."

You contact Death and let her know you've found another survivor.

"Alright, perfect! I'll be there in a bit, just gotta deal with this Lesser Spirit. Speaking of which, behind you."

You turn around, and notice something stalking down the hallway towards you and the Survivor.

A gaping maw leaks drool onto the floor, occasionally closing long enough to gnash its teeth. The teeth are broad and flat like that of a cow or hippo, and they're streaked with gore. Compared to the mouth, this creature seems almost small, an emaciated body padding towards you and the survivor.

You move to step in front of the woman, readying your blade. The grimoire flashes, and you feel a new entry taking form.

LESSER SPIRIT
MR. HUNGRY
"Formerly a child's nightmare, this unique creature was given form by her dying fear at the hands of a spirit. Powered by the girl's soul and fear, it stalks the city seeking to fill its unending hunger. Don't let it bite you."

Thatss.. not good is it?

As you swing, the creature's jaw snaps open, and winds up being deflected off one of its massive teeth. Thankfully, your tactic at least prevented it from attacking this round. Be grateful, that trick isn't going to work again.

Is the picture in he OP accurate about out surroundings? Can we throw a chair for the monster to gnaw at it before we attack?

Rolled 9 (1d20)

>>46120697
You fling a chair at Mr. Hungry... at which point it snaps the flimsy wood in between its teeth like a set of toothpicks.

You gulp loudly at the idea of this thing biting you.

You swing for the spirit!
>>
Rolled 19 (1d20)

Rolling for dodge. Does anyone know if you can put two dice rolls on a post? Because this is fucking obnoxious.

>>46121478
You stab Mr. Hungry! The knife pierces the spirit's flesh, and as your knife goes through it you realize that despite the beast's emaciated appearance, pretty much everything is solid fat. It's like stabbing a rubber ball.

The creature growls, and makes one last snap at you!

Rolling attack.

Mr. Hungry's jaws clamp down around your arm! He tears and chews at it for a bit, before collapsing to the ground. You've apparently slain it.

The creature dissolves into pure soulstuff, ascending through the ceiling and disappearing.

Death finally enters the hallway, and looks at you with some worry. "Holy shit, that thing did a number on you. Maybe you should try healing yourself up?"

You open your skill list. As of right now, you only have access to Faith Sustains, a simple healing spell. You activate the healing magics, and you sigh in relief as your maimed arm repairs itself.

>Restored 20 HP!

Death nods, and gestures for the survivor to follow her. "Alrighty then, let's get going, I've got a buddy that'll keep an eye on you."

As the two of them leave, you realize you only have one way to go but forwards. However, are you sure you want to battle The Magician right now? There are other places in town to investigate...

You decide that you don't want to battle The Magician. At least not yet.

As you leave the dorms, you notice that the Mask's usual "STUFF HERE" light has massively reduced. There's only a slight glow there. It's probably just to indicate the Magician is still there.

You now have two other areas to explore, assuming you don't get back to the Dorms. And then you hear Death again.

"Hey! You! Mark, buddy! So now that you've rescued some hostages, I figured I should let you know, I'm not the only one running around town! I've got some buddies who you'll be seeing around! So, uh, just a heads-up!"

/tg/ seems dead this week tiny there are very few new threads and not many posters i wonder if someone found a way out of here?
>>
>>46122942
You decide to investigate the Lakehouse. As you approach the lakehouse, you notice something's wrong.

The lake's much, much bigger than it's supposed to be.

Black water stretches out, out, so far out you can't even see the end. In the distance, you realize that there seems to be another building floating on the water.

The lakehouse sits in front of you. On the dock, a single boat is tied down.

>>

You peer through the windows of the lakehouse, searching for any sort of indicator of a spirit inside. The only thing you see is what looks like an open refrigerator in the kitchen.

So, theoretically, the coast is clear.

You head inside, and begin investigating. The first few rooms turn up empty beside some dead bodies and messed-up furniture. But as you approach the dining room, you hear... sounds.

For what it's worth, the noise you're currently hearing is a cheerful whistling, along with the sound of glass and metal clanking. Can't be too dangerous, right?

...right?

That is far worse any survivor would be panicking this is either another horseman or a spooky ghost.

You do investigate the spooky noise!

As you step into the dining room, you notice... a young woman sitting at the mostly-trashed table and digging through some tupperware and glass bowls. She seems to have consumed a metric ton of leftovers. She turns to look at you as you walk in. You also can't help but notice what seems to be a dual-headed flail as long as you are tall leaning against another non-ruined portion of the table.

"Oh, hey. You must be the exorcist, right?" She says, noticing you as you walk in. She waves, not bothering to get up. "Neat. I'm Famine." She says, with all the casualness of someone giving a name like "Mary" or "Josephine".

She finally stands, hefting the oversized flail over her shoulder. She approaches you and extends a hand. "Good to meet you. Death was mentioning you earlier."

You're slightly intimidated by this woman.

>Ask her questions
>Shake her hand then ask her questions
>Shake her hand, then politely excuse yourself.
>>
>>46126690
>Shake her hand then ask her questions
Ask if the food is any good and if there is anything aroundwe could use, mention sometimes that hungry feeling is actually thirst. Also ask if the rest of the house is clear.
>>
>>46126845
She shakes her head as you shake her hand. "Nah, the food's shit. But, yknow, when your job description involves being eternally hungry you take what you can get. Not like anyone's gonna be touching it any time soon."

She picks up her flail and gives it a spin, and it shrinks into a small set of silver scales. "Didn't mean to get distracted. Sis sent me to find survivors, but then I found the pantry."

She pockets the scales, then looks up at you. "But yeah, there's definitely stuff for you here. I think if you can find the piano room, you'll be in pretty good shape for what's coming. I think there's a survivor too, but hell if I'm looking for them."

She looks down, a bit guiltily. "I... can't really control myself well around scared prey..." She shakes her head, and looks back up at you. "Point is, find the piano room. Find the survivor. Kill a few spirits, find a bit of loot, it's all on you. And one more piece of advice?"

She begins to leave the room, but turns to face you at the doorframe. "Don't read the journal's last page unless you want a Greater Spirit breathing down your neck."

She pulls out a smartphone from her pocket, and types something in. "By the way, I added my number to your phone just now. Call me up if you need advice or help or something. I'll see what I can do, yknow?" She shrugs, and finally heads out the door.

NOTE: Phone added to Inventory! You've always had it, but now it's useful!
