I think it's a "less is more" thing. And art colleges don't teach life-drawing anymore. The lego figs are really rigid, horribly constrained, but that forces the photographer to up their game in composition The abstracted figures get an automatic wave because the context of the medium is staring me in the face, but it's not trying for photorealism so why should I expect it.

Could I publish any of this? No. Could my hopefuls learn from this? Hell yes.

Thanks anon!

I'm pretty proud of these displays. I first made a bunch of dinosaur skeletons about a year ago, but at the time I didn't have any of the large white rib pieces so they looked a little bare-bones.

I made these a month or so ago and posted them on /toy/ as I was working on them, but I was planning on using them as a backdrop for this game and a couple other ones.

Anyway, here are some detailed shots of the stars. First up is this hungry fella. I came up with silly names for all of them when I posted them on /toy/ but I can't remember them so I'd have to look them up.

Was Flygirl always going to be Flygirl or did you 'wing' it?

Here's the brontowhatzis. Minifig for scale. Both derpisaurs benefited from the big rib pieces, but this one especially, since before I was trying to use white arch pieces as ribs.

This one has two bars inside its neck to keep it rigid and help hold the heavy skull up, but because of the way it's set up, there's one cylinder in the middle that doesn't have any extra support. Surprisingly, even though the head fell off at least ten times during that scene, the neck never came apart.

This is the skeleton that Fly Girl crashed into. It turned out a lot cuter than the raptor-thing I made the first time around.

I wasn't sure what her power was going to be, but I had a pair of wings set aside because I thought the name was funny.

This is the flightosaur that was suspended above Red when she came into the exhibit. The stand is surprisingly stable for being only 1x2.

The last one didn't have a prototype. When I was posting these on /toy/, I asked what the fifth one should be and two people said "mammoth", so I put it together right there. I used up basically all the white non-brick pieces I own to build it. I even had to cannibalize two ribs from the brontotops to give it tusks (it used to have 12 ribs, but I took the front set off and you can't even tell there's a gap).

Time for some Easter eggs before I go to bed...

Venus de Mayhem was first mentioned by Bullion Cube in the fourth episode. He didn't think very highly of her.

>white axles,
what is this magic. I have a couple of old uncoloured plastic ones but i've never seen them in white.

Manic Panic, if you don't know, is a brand of cheap, temporary hair dye, often associated with punks, punk posers, and other similar types.

A "fly girl" is an attractive female, but also one of the house dancers on the TV show In Living Color. I thought it would be funny to have them both named after quasi-music-related subjects.

While Mark Hall and his panelists are new, the Wertham Act was first mentioned back in the intro to the very first episode, as the reason why the other heroes had disappeared. Fredric Wertham was of course the famous psychiatrist who led a crusade against superhero comics, and the comics industry in general.

Other vigilante heroes have been named, but so far only Venus and the White Knight have been seen on camera.

Our grim and gritty protagonist's dead parents were mentioned by Bullion Cube a couple episodes ago when he was reading off the dirt he had had dug up on her.

Also of note was the fact that her only other relative seems to be Nancy. All the more reason for Nance to act a little overprotective of her baby sister.

A couple more Easter eggs that I forgot to mention last night:

Fly Girl is mostly the CMF S15 Jewel Thief. I heresy'd her face printing a little bit and swapped out a different haircut. She also doesn't need a grappling hook this way. The Hapsburg Diamond is the diamond that came with her, because it's the only one I have in trans-clear.
>>
>>46139038
The cave lady mannequin is the CMF S5 Cavewoman. The caveman is made from a bunch of different figs because I don't have a "real" CMF Caveman. His club is actually the one that came with the Cavewoman.

The prop fire is the new small flame/plume piece, but in regular red instead of trans-orange since it's not real fire.

Kinda hard to tell, but the cab driver is wearing the banana shirt from the new CMF Clumsy Guy.

>white axles
Yeah, I was pretty surprised to find them in a bucket of axles the last time I went to my local-ish impoverished version of the Lego Store's Pick-A-Brick. I only got two, but in hindsight I should have probably got them all.

If you like talking about Lego stuff, I'm usually lurking in the Lego General thread over on /toy/:
