Index, middle, ring, pinky, thumb. You’ve spent the past week or so spent in hyperspace trying to get used to your new arm. Misri was doing all she could to help you adjust, as was Kuvasz. But as you sit alone in your quarters, you couldn’t help but stare at it. It was foreign, it was invasive.

You really need to learn to stop lying to the wrong people.

Still, there’s some… fringe benefits to having an artificial arm you guess. You can turn it into a blaster cannon! Like in those holovids you used to watch as a kid. Or maybe you can use it for slicing duties. And hell, particularly sexy females of warrior cultures tend to love “bloodied” men, and loss of a limb is one of those ways to bloody yourself. You wonder what Warmaster Vizsla would think?

Hm, now that’s something you genuinely want to see.

Still, having this arm, no matter how optimistic you are, is a constant reminder of your mistake. Never lie to someone who never lies to you, you suppose. You guess that’s just how things go in the Empire. Things have really changed, and not for the better. What would Lotte think about this? Does she even know? Do you even want her to know? Questions, questions, questions.

Which are interrupted by Whisper stepping into your room. “Captain Cykgil.”

[2/2]

You turn your head to her, resting your arm in your lap. “Whisper. Need something?”

“The droids say that we are only an hour away from the Furies’ location.” She folds her arms. “While I am loathe to work for Mandalorians, I will trust your judgement in dealing with them. I hear they are not exactly the most experienced of their kind.” You shrug. Not going to argue with that. They’re capable, that’s why Reike wants them gone. “But also, I would like to spar with you, in private.”

You squint. “Um.” You hold up your artificial arm. “I’m not sure if it’ll go well considering the circumstances, Whisper.”

She shuts the door behind her, then strips off her robes. She wears black shorts and white gauze wrappings on her chest. The full extent of her cybernetic augments are revealed to you, her robotic legs, cybernetic arm, and cyber eye, with much more that you can’t readily identify. That pale skin of hers is almost lightning compared to the black metal of her cybernetics. “I will go slowly.”

You smirk, leaning back in your chair. “Come on, not gonna take off the rest.” She stares at you, then slowly reaches for the waistband on her shorts. “Whoa, wait. I was joking.” She nods slowly, placing her hands on her hips. You stand up, sighing deeply. “Look, I’m not sure if I’m particularly in the mood for-“

She raises her fists. “There is always time for a fight.”

You sigh, throwing off your jacket and tossing it on the bed. “Fine.” You rub your new robotic arm, then slowly step forward closer. She nods to you, apparently signaling that you have the initiative. This is interesting. You’ve never heard of Echani ceding the advantage in a ifgt, much less going –slowly- in one either. Maybe she’s just trying to be nice. You throw a punch, and she deftly blocks it with her good arm. You grunt. Alright, fine, fine.

You try a punch with your new arm. She stops it again with her one organic arm, then she pushes you away. “… you’re mocking me.” You wag your finger at her as she remains ready. “You’re having a laugh, this is a joke.”

“You are angry, I understand,” she says. Understand? She –chose- to have her limbs chopped off. What makes her think she understands having one chopped off by force!? You step forward and punch her. This time, it connects with her chest. You yelp in pain as your hand plunks off of it. Damn it! Her chest is built like a tank! Flat like one too!

“Are you trying to make me angry!?” you yell. She steps back from your punches again, and again. Any that have some chance to land are pushed away or blocked entirely. “Stop that! I thought you said you were going slow!”

“I am,” she says.

“How is this supposed to help me!?” you shout.

She pauses, then places her hand on her hip. She motions to your arm. “How does your arm feel?” she asks.

“I-“ You… you blink. You hold up your robotic arm. Wow, honestly, you actually forgot it was there.

… what. You look at her again. She folds her arms, giving you a stern look. “When I first replaced my arm with a cybernetic replacement, the only way I could get over the invasive feeling of it was through anger. Hatred can make one forget about oneself. Rage is the body’s natural anesthetic. And fury is a very real replacement to determination.”

You pant, shaking your head. “So what. You’re telling me I should be angry all the time?”

“Embracing anger is not wrong,” she says. She holds up her fists again. “Since I have warmed you up, would you like to try again?”

> “Alright, alright. Let’s do this.”

You take a deep breath, then raise your fists. “Alright then. Let’s do this.” She nods, again allowing you the initiative. You attack, and immediately Whisper punches you straight in the jaw. You fall over, your teeth sore and your jaw feeling just the slightest bit out of place. She’s good, but not good enough! With a quick hop back to your feet, you go for a tackle, this time managing to catch her. And thump she goes as you bang her against the wall. You make for one last finishing blow to the face, but she docks, then drills you in the stomach.

Okay, you might be angry, but that doesn’t mean it’ll translate to skill it seems. Whatever! You knee her in the gut, and she coughs, stumbled by it. You grab her head, then shove her against the wall. You pin her wrists up, and plant your feet directly on hers.

She pants, surprised by the sudden defeat. “… You’re pretty good,” she says quietly with a blush on her face.

“Thanks,” you say back.

The two of you look down, your chests only inches away from touching each other, then look back at each other. “So.” You quirk your brow. “Maybe we can take this to bed then?”

Her blush grows deeper. “I- uh…” She clears her throat, looking down and away from you. “You wouldn’t want that.” You roll your eyes. Grow a spine, why don’t you.

There’s a knock at the door. “Sir.” It’s Dodger. “We’re approaching the Furie’s position.”

“Thanks,” you call out. Whisper pushes you away, then immediately bends over to pick up her robes. “Come on.”

She opens the door, looking at you with a very stern glare. “No.” She steps out.

You sigh, folding your arms. Another time. Feh.

The Furies’ fleet was orbiting a particularly large planetoid, dead in the water so to speak, only good for raw materials. It had no name, and it certainly wasn’t on any charts. But planetoids like these served as excellent bases for pirates and raiders and most especially rebels. The ship docked up with the Vode An. But before you went, Vikker stops you from entering the docking tube. “Give us a minute, guys.” They step in without you two.

“What do you want, Vikker?”

He folds his arms, looking at you concernedly, as concernedly as an Aqualish can. “This is my fault.”

“What is?” you ask.

“The arm. Everything that’s happened,” he growls. “I should never have let you take that job with Lotte, or do anything involving the Empire.” He shakes his head. “Listen, Rhys. We need to get out of this, somehow, someway. Reike is going to use you up.” He shrugs. “Now, I have a few contacts in Wild Space we can talk to. Maybe we can hide out there for like… five or six years until the heat dies down.” Five or six years!?

“You’re joking,” you say.

“You said it yourself, you don’t run from the Empire,” he says. “And besides, no good smuggler would want to associate with you or me by extension considering our reputation as Imperial goons.”

"Does Reike look like the type to just let assets get away? Sure, he won't waste resources hunting us down, but if we show our faces anywhere the Empire has an interest he'll have us gunned down. One last job, and that's it."

We need to figure out a way to make the Furies disappear for a decade or two. Even if we refuse to do the job, Reike is so pissed off right now he'll just send another task force to hunt the Furies down and kill all of them.

We convince the Furies to stop pirating and do something more legitimate (such as becoming our personal bodyguards and forming an official mercenary company) and we use the money from the Aurodium to make it possible for them to do that and still have enough leftover to retire.

You sigh deeply. “… that honestly doesn’t sound too bad.” He clicks his tusks, nodding approvingly. “Look. Right now, we gotta talk with the girls. We gotta let them know what’s what. We can talk about this later, alright?”

Vikker nods. “Fair enough. You’re the boss.” You slap Vikker on the arm, smiling at him. Always looking out for you, like the father you never wanted.

With all of you in the docking tube now, you steel yourself. Just present the arm as is, and just let things happen naturally. You’ll do all the talking. The door leading into the Vode An slides open, and coming to greet you is Erma, Uggla, and Lima. Their black armor is a bit more dulled out now thanks to age and experience. “Rhys.” Erma steps forward, pulling off her helmet. “It has been a while-“ The three of them immediately notice Whisper.

And to that, Erma and Uggla draw their blaster pistols. Uh oh. You step in front of Whisper, who is already ready to fight. “Get out of the way!” yells Uggla. “There’s an Echani behind you!”

“She’s part of my crew,” you say. “Don’t shoot!”

“Let them shoot!” yells Whisper. Misri and Vikker step behind Whisper, awkwardly trying not to add to the scene. “I will show them the true power of the Echani form!”

Suddenly, Lima grabs Erma and Uggla’s shoulders, then pushes them to the side. “Out of my way.” The normally cheery and happy Lima pulls out a vibroknife from her belt, then brandishes it towards Whisper. “I’ve always wanted to add an Echani scalp to my wall!” REALLY!?

So, is getting the Furies to simply not target Imperial shipping enough?
Or is that option closed out because lied to Reike?

Because, looking at the list of systems that the Empire doesn't control, there's a lot of shipping and trading that can get ambushed without being an Imperial problem.

Did you really forget that the Furies, as a matter of course, space the crews of the ships they capture, including passengers?
These are murderers.

And everyone that Rhyse has worked with before usually disintegrated the people who betrayed them, and usually had just as harsh punishments for those that failed them.

> “Now, now, girls. Let’s not start a scene. We’re here to talk.”

“Now, now, girls. Lima.” Lima pouts at the fact that you’re not letting her scalp your Echani crewmate. “We’re not here to start a fight. We’re here to talk, like civilized people.”

“We –are- civilized,” says Erma. She points to Whisper. “They are not.”

Whisper scoffs. “If you’re considered civilized, then the galaxy really is in trouble.”

“Enough,” says Kuvasz. He steps in next to you, backing you up. “Erma, Lima, Uggla. Whisper is considered part of our crew. Rhys has decided to bring her aboard. As much as I agree with you, you must respect Rhys’ decision.” Kuvasz, saving you again. You place your hands your hips, looking to the girls. They finally relent, withdrawing their weapons.

“Very well.” Erma bows to you. “I apologize. Your Echani friend will be free to come aboard.”

You nod. “Can you take us to Warmaster Vizsla?” She nods, leading you down the docking tube.

Lima gives Whisper a very stark glare. “You know, if Rhys hadn’t vouched for you, I would’ve beat you.”

“If Rhys hadn’t vouched for you, I would’ve killed you,” Whisper says back. Lima scoffs, falling in line behind you all.

I doubt that Vizla's honor would allow her to do that just to avoid punishment from the Empire.

Which is why I'm saying we should use the money to just hire her crew out as bodyguards that no longer have to be pirates. They can form a mercenary company under a legit name (Maybe Rhys and Vizla's Mercs) that effectively avoids further confrontation that provokes unwanted attention from the Empire.

“Well, you know, my tongue’s pretty sharp,” you say. “But lightsabers are much much sharper.”

She nods, holding the arm in her hands gently. “I see. I can have Erma apply some synthskin to cover this if you wish.” Oh? That’d actually be nice. “For now though, perhaps we should talk about why you are here.”

You nod. “I was sent by Admiral Reike to get you to stop your pirating against the Empire.” The Nite Furies guarding the doors and the throne all turn to look at in you surprise. Warmaster Vizsla looks at you as if you just stepped on a tooka. “Either you quit peacefully, or you get destroyed to the last girl. It’s your choice.”

She folds her arms, giving you a very angry look. “And here I thought you were here because you just wanted to see me again.” Well, that was another reason. “What makes you think that I would just stop fighting the Empire?”

“Because they’ll kill you,” you say.

“And kill me they’re perfectly allowed to,” she says back. “How would I look to the other girls if I were to bow to Imperial superiority. And yes, I admit they are superior. But Mandalorian fighting spirit is not just about winning a fight, it is about –the- fight. I will not negotiate this,” she says.

“Please,” you say. She tilts her head, quirking her brow. “I beg you, you have to consider this. At least think about the girls serving you too.” She looks over at Erma, Lima, and Uggla, who all three shake their heads.

Vizsla however sighs, rubbing her chin. “I will give it a moment’s thought. > “Um, can Whisper come with us?”

“Do you mind if I bring Whisper with me?” you say. Erma looks at you strangely with her one good eye and her cybernetic one as well. “You know, whole Mandalorian vs. Echani thing. I don’t think it’s a good idea to leave her alone.” You see sparks fly right between Lima and Whisper.

And to that, Erma agrees. “Good idea,” says Erma.

-

-

You sit at a table, letting the medical droid apply a layer of synthskin over your cybernetic arm. Whisper watches from the corner, her feet planted squarely and her arms folded on her chest. She looks as if she’s preparing for someone to start something. Erma sits next to you on the table, supervising the process as she goes through a holopad. Truth be told, this synthskin feels barely noticeable. Hopefully you’ll get some feeling back in this arm when it’s finished. “So, Erma. How have things been since I left?”

“Fine,” she says coldly. She looks down at you with her cybernetic eye. “We’ve recruited more members to the cause, and not just that, we’ve replenished our fighter count as well. But the idea that we’d suddenly disband or stop fighting the Empire would render all of this meaningless.”

“Well, I’m sorry,” you say.

“Warmaster Vizsla admires you, adores you even,” Erma growls. “The only thing I ask of you is that you not take advantage of her kindness to you. The Furies here respect you and know you to be a relatively good man. But, Rhys.” She jabs you in the chest, squinting deeply at you. “I know you for what you are.”

You smirk. “A really handsome man with a silver tongue?” She rolls her eyes. “Come on. Things change, Erma. You’re still mad about what happened?”

“If you think for a second that everything between us can be magically solved with conversation, you’re wrong. If anything, this issue is bringing the old days back to light.” She cocks her head. “How correct would I be in stating that maybe bringing us down would be some cowardly way of ensuring your own survival?”

“I don’t think that’s fair.” The medical droid finishes the initial gel layer, and sets about drying it to feel like proper skin.

She scoffs. And for a few minutes the two of you remain in silence as the skin dries. She nudges you with her elbow however, pointing to Whisper as she glares at the both of you. “So how did you earn the respect of this Echani? They don’t normally travel with the likes of outsiders.”

Reike treated us fairly, not as a slave, and honestly. We're the ones that have been screwing him over at every turn. He pays us for our work and even offered bonus incentives.

> Intelligence: “She’s not your average Echani.”

“She’s not your average Echani. She was abandoned by her sisters, I extended a helping hand to her. Now she’s here,” you say.

Erma folds her arms, looking at you skeptically. “Is it not because she’s a girl?” You tilt your head. Excuse me? “I’ve seen that type of ilk before, it’s how we Furies operate from time to time. Very few can resist the allure of assisting a damsel in distress.”

“She is nothing like that,” you say. “You should see her fight, it’s brutal.” Erma nods, taking your word for it.

The medical droid taps your shoulder. “The process is complete. Your new skin should feel just like the old.” You bring up your right arm, and indeed you feel it up. Very soft to the touch, almost like a baby’s skin. A few years of rough work will smooth it out though. “That will be 10 credits.”

“What?” you ask.

Erma kicks the medical droid. “Stop charging people for medical services, just because we stole you from a Zygerrian slaver ship doesn’t mean you get to charge people for it,” she says. The droid lowers his head, shamed.

You stand up, grinning. “Well then, I should…”

1. Reike's not a guy who leaves loose ends. It's why he shot down all of those escape pods during the Clone Wars or keeps a massive blockade around Alpheridies to keep people from coming in. It really depends on how the relationship is voided.

2. The payout for the aurodium is in, but Reike is keeping it for now in a bank account for you and it is ready for you in the event that you want to retire.

He won't allow it in the middle of a mission though.
We tell him we want to retire and we get our money. Simple as that. No monthly allowance bs to screw us over. He is playing it straight and GS even says so.

A little honesty would've kept our arm attached. and we are lucky he didn't kill someone that betrayed him 3 times. That is a lot of leniency from a guy that genocides people to ensure a complete win.

>>46145372
He chose us because we are close to the Furies and gave us the option of convincing them to stop pirating. He could have easily said No and that their complete destruction is the only option. But Reike gave us the chance to do things our way. He could easily have sent someone else but chose us because it gives us the chance to find a better way.

We already screwed over Reike 3 times. We screw him over one more time and he really will take the gloves off and bring us and everyone else around us down in a blaze of glory.

“No, I’m smart, unlike you.” He stands up, looking down on you. “And unlike you, I have principles, you may not agree with them but they are principles all the same. You, Rhys, are making this incredibly difficult for yourself. Just take the money and do the job. What is so hard about that?” You groan in pain, cradling yourself as you curl up. You look over at Whisper, who continues to stare at the two of you in some guarding manner. “Whisper. Maybe you’d like to get some skin too to help cover things up.” She quirks her brow, confused. “It’s synthskin, it covers up your robotic limbs to help you look more human.”

Whisper stands up, and walks over to the medical droid. “What is this? Some sort of trick? I’ve never heard of synthskin.” She looks over at Erma. “Is this how you Mandalorians hide away your scars?”

Erma folds her arms. “No, but it helps us look pretty even when we get scars.” She points to her cybernetic eye. “Case in point.” Whisper looks over at the droid, then back at Erma. “For you, it’ll only take a few minutes. You’ll have to strip though.” Whisper glares intensely at Erma.

You smirk. “Don’t worry, Whisper. Erma doesn’t bite.”

“Oh you two want me to leave, okay then.”

Erma leads Whisper behind some shrouds, then shutters them around Whisper. The medical droid wheels itself in, right as Whisper starts dropping her clothes. Erma looks over at you, folding your arms, watching you as you see Whisper unwrap herself for the benefit of that medical droid. Hm, probably not much to see with Whisper.

You groan. There’s a sudden pain in your head. “Something wrong?” asks Erma. You sit down again, groaning as you hold your head. God… what the-… Erma sits down next to you, holding your shoulder. “It must be just a side effect of the synthskin adjusting to your regular skin. I’ll get some meds for you.” She stands up and heads to one of the drawers by one of the beds.

And it would be much simpler to make sure they are not chasing us in the first place. Why pointlessly risk getting them on our tail?

And it is just one last job, which we are already doing anyway. Get the Furies to not be a target for the Empire to want to kill and we're done. We collect our money and retire somewhere where we're safe and away from all the Empire vs Rebels business until it all blows over.

Then, stepping into the room now is Warmaster Vizsla. “Rhys.” She smiles at you. “I see your new arm is just as handsome as you are.” You nod back. “Where’s the Echani?” Erma points behind the shroud, where a loud mechanical whining is heard as Whisper receives her new skin. “Right, Rhys. This decision isn’t one I can really make lightly.”

“Why not?” you ask.

“The Empire does all it can to keep Mandalore down,” she says. “It turns into slaves through its Academies, and those who cannot conform are either killed, or forced to become the living stereotype of Mandalorian bounty hunter.” You nod slowly. “How would the Furies look, not just as one House but as many clans come together, if it were to just surrender itself and disappear?”

“So you’re not going to stop?” you ask.

She folds her arms, looking to you with some element of understanding. “I would love to hear how you would keep the Furies alive. I will not disband my girls and leave them to become mindless mercenaries and hired hench.”

You need to give them something they actually will respond to, such as convincing them that a bigger, more glorious battle will come their way if they gather up more fighters and warships elsewhere than in Imperial space.

Going freelance in the Star Wars universe fucking sucks.
>>
>>46146900

The mercenary work is what I'm saying we should get the Furies to get into, AFTER we get our money. Rhy's can be the money bags that finances their mercenary work but we'll need Vizla to be the face of the company, because we are supposed to be retired and to avoid sticking the company with the hate that Rhys has going against him.
>>
>>46147039
Well yes. The only way to survive being freelance is by being a cold-blooded killer who'll kill anybody for te right price.
That's the only way to get the cartels to respect your autonomy, is that your loyalty is to the almighty credit andrefore is always negotiable.

Since some people feel that being Bobba Fett or any other mercenary bounty hunter and contract killer is too boring, we won't be much of a freelancer.
>>
> “Maybe you uh… should go into mercenary work?”

Warmaster Vizsla stares at you. “… didn’t I just say I don’t want to go into mercenary work?”

“Look, hear me out.” She nods, motioning for you to continue. “If you legitimize, maybe things will go alright. Other people will hire you to target other people instead of Imperial targets. Admiral Reike maybe will let that slide as long as you aren’t attacking Imperial shipments. And hey, maybe you can work for me. I’m coming on a big payday you know,” you say.

She folds her arms, squinting at you. “Really.”

You shrug. “Whether you believe it or not. Look, it’s either that, you face… you face death okay? Admiral Reike’s fleet is better than yours. He has numbers, has the tech, he’ll bury you.” Erma looks over at you, crossing her arms as she listens to you. “If you become private mercs, well, all you have to do then is target the right kind of people, make easy money, there you go. And hey, if you ever want to go back to pirating, I hear the Hapes Cluster might be good.”

Warmaster Vizsla mulls over it, rubbing her chin. She looks to Erma, who gives a simple shrug of the hand. “And what would happen to you if we were to suddenly become mercenaries?”

You shrug again. “I stop working for the Empire. I’m done with it hopefully. Honestly, I’d love to just retire and stop worrying about it. Maybe occasionally I’ll find something for somebody but big contracts are probably a no-go.”

Warmaster Vizsla nods slowly. “Perhaps we should discuss this more in my quarters. This is obviously something that requires more thought.” She looks over at Erma. “Erma. Will you be okay?” She nods. “Good. Rhys, follow me.” She turns around and leads you on.

You hold a cup of tea in your hands as you sit on Vizsla’s incredibly soft bed. It’s all been repaired since the little incident the last time you were aboard. Warmaster Vizsla places the plates of her armor upon an armor rack next to a full length mirror, standing now only in the dark undersuit of it. “You’re scared, aren’t you?”

“What?” you ask.

She picks up her own tea and motions for you to drink. You take a sip. “You’re scared. Scared of the Empire. Scared of the Empire taking not just your life but everything you know and love. You’ve been indoctrinated to think that they’re invincible, like it or not.”

You shake your head. What is this? “The Empire has no limits. They have no lines to cross.”

“Well, then there’s the Rebellion, who draw that line,” she says. “And stand firmly upon it, even if it costs them their life.”

“I didn’t come here to be called a coward,” you say. “Why am I here?”

She folds her arms, smiling at you. “I believe firmly that you have the heart of a Mandalorian in you, Rhys.” She taps your chest. “It just needs some encouragement to come out as all. You care deeply for your crew, as do I. We are not so different you and I.” She sits down next to you, placing her hand on your arm, your cybernetic arm. “You have done the Furies a service, you and Kuvasz, saving me from the Crusader, saving me from myself. I wish to repay that. Name anything and I will do my best to give it to you.”

I'll change my vote to:

“For you stop attacking the Empire, just stop it.” She looks at you, saddened by that proposal. “I want you girls to be safe, okay? You’ve done a lot, the Empire’s gonna come knocking on your door. And I’d hate to lose you all. I know what I’ve done to you can’t be forgiven but let me at least try and keep you guys safe, just so I can say I tried to do right by you all.”

She gives you a good long look, then nods. “Very well. I’ll see what I can do.” She stands up, sighing deeply. “Rhys. The Mandalorian way is that we fight not just to win, but we fight to challenge ourselves, to challenge others. How can we say that we’re the best the galaxy has to offer if we so willingly step aside for someone else?”

“That’s not for me to say,” you say. “Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.”

“A wise saying,” she says. “I will-“ The door into Vizsla’s quarters slides open, and there Erma stands. “… Erma, I thought I said I did not want to be interrupted.”

“It’s the Zygerrian,” says Erma. “She requests your presence.” Jennis? What happened? “She’s brought with her some friends.”

Eudora lies on the bed, breath mask over her mouth, her eyes shut. Her waist is bandaged up, with some tears in her flight suit revealing deep cuts and bloody bruises. Jacko sits next to her, holding her hand. Jennis addresses you, and your crew, and the Furies. “They came to me in a busted up X-Wing. Erm.” Jennis bites her lip, twiddling her fingers a bit. “I didn’t have any medical supplies so here we are in your medbay.”

You walk up to Jacko. “What happened?” you ask.

He looks up, crushed. “The Empire found us and the Mon Calamari refugees. The commander insisted we stay and defend, but there were too many. Wyrs and Jessie were killed,” he says. “I pulled Eudora into my X-Wing, had to fly the gravity well gauntlets, managed to find this scavver here.”

Misri nurses a bleeding nose, looking at Jacko. “Wh- what about the Force Harvester?” What happened to her nose? Misri looks paler, as if she’s seen a ghost. “Wh-… did they find it?”

“We have to assume for the timebeing.” He nods. “Yes. They did. We left before we could confirm it but he had AT-AT swimmers getting crushed down in those depths looking for that thing. He definitely wasn’t giving up.”

Warmaster Vizsla nods. “We will nurse your Commander back to health, then send you on your way.” Jacko nods, still clutching Eudora’s hand.

You step up to Misri. “Misri, what’s wrong?” She looks over at you, hugging yourself. You step closer, wrapping your arm around her and leading her to a chair. You sit down with her. “What happened to you?”

She rubs her nose a little, shrugging. “I don’t know, I just… I kind of collapsed like a little while ago. Kuvasz found me just lying there. And…” She rubs her head, looking at you. “Rhys. It felt like… I don’t know. Like, a lot of people just died. A lot of people.”

You lean back a bit. “So, is this another Force thing?”

“I think so,” she says desperately. Great, more Force shenanigans. “Rhys, hear me out. What- what if the Force is telling me something, what if its telling me that a lot of people just up and died somewhere and-“

“Misri.” You hold up your hand. She stops talking, depressed by your interruption. “Look. Maybe you just had a bad breakfast this morning or something, or maybe… maybe you caught a cold.” She stares at you, indignant. “Look. Whatever it is, you don’t look well. You should probably see to a Doctor.”

“I concur.” Kuvasz steps up to you two. “Misri, you should get some rest back on the ship. Sleep it off. We’ll call you if we need you.” Misri nods slowly, rubbing her head. Kuvasz folds his arms as he watches her go. “You realize that it was actually the Force telling her something, right?”

“As if,” you say. “There’s no way something like that happens.”

He nods. “Just so you know though. If Admiral Reike does have the Force Harvester.” He places his hands on his hips. “You realize we have to do something, right?” What does he mean? He can’t mean going and fighting it right?

>>
>>46149255
There's not agreeing with the Mandalorian, who likes to tackle problems head on, when our opponent outnumbers and outguns us.

And honestly, if we're going to be aiding the Rebels (because that's how the rest of the galactic underworld will see it since we're not doing it for money or for one of the cartels), we need to come up with an exit strategy or accept that we're going to be working for the Rebels whether we like it or not.
Though it seems that quite a few players would like that.
>>
Rhys can't just stand by and let Rieke kill worlds and his friends stop being cowards when someone hits you hit back.
>>

>>

Rhys obviously doesn't have a plan, especially since this all came on such short notice. Rhys was prepared to walk away, but now the Harvester being active changes things.
>>
>>46149357

Rhys is a patriot, one who works to keep safe the empire and its people.

An empire that willingly uses such weapons on a civilian population is not a government he would support.
>>
> “Yeah, I think I do know what you mean.”

“Yeah. I do.” You sigh. “But listen, Kuvasz. That’ll come after I get my money and after we settle things. I’m not going to be dragged into some battle of wills.” You tap him on the armor, glaring up at him. “I’m just some regular criminal scum, Kuvasz. That means I don’t play fair.”

He nods. “Fair enough. You are the Captain. We’ll do this by your rules.” You better. You’re not having some paladin come in and steal your thunder. Not after having to convince the Furies to give up on Imperial piracy.

Vikker comes over. “Hey, what’s the word?” The two of you look at him, knowingly. “… we’re not seriously going to. Are we?”

“Look,” you say. “I’m going to report back to Reike. If he gives us the money, I’m retiring. I’m done with this kind of work.”

“But risking our lives trying to…” The three of you look over at Warmaster Vizsla and company standing over Jacko and Eudora. “To do this? We can’t! They’ll kill us!”

“It’s better to die free than to live your life as a slave to fear,” says Kuvasz. “But ultimately it is up to Rhys to let us know how we proceed with this. First question I have, do we involve the Furies in this?”

Reike would see it coming.
He knows how criminal scum thinks, and he's VERY good at discerning true intentions.
This "retirement" of Rhyse's has to be real for Reike to lower Rhyse's threat level.

And personally, I would rather do what Vikker suggests and actually walk away from this.
All that freedom has done for the galaxy is get billions killed and entire planets turned to cinders.
>>
>>46149540
But then Rhys will have to live with migraines for the rest of his life and Misri passing out with nosebleeds every time the Harvester fires.
>>
>>46149585
No he won't.
After a while, one of two things will happen; no more Rebellion, meaning that there's nothing to use the Force Harvester against, or the Force Harvester gets destroyed by the Hutt Cartels allying with Black Sun because neither will want an unstoppable Empire that could consider it cheaper and more expedient to kill the criminals instead of paying them off.

Contact the Rebels how? Through Jacko?
Or Eudora, when she wakes up? They were operating cut off and without contact with the other cells, since their fleet got wiped out.

At least come up with the idea of getting some plastic surgery and cosmetic cybernetics put in around our eyes, a voice modulator, a dye job, and a new ship, so that we can be Bosche the Bounty Hunter.

>>46149917
Some people don't even want to try to get the money that would help finance a strike against the Force Harvester.

I'm actually starting to think it might be better if we don't go back to Reike for our last payment.
These people would screw up the deal somehow so that even if we succeed in destroying the Force Harvester it leaves us penniless.
>>
>>46149970
If it really comes down to letting that weapon loose on civilian populations, I think rhys would be pained but willing to let the cash go.

>>46150033
Theres the thing that if we dont collect, we're the perfect position for a insider strike/sabotage against the subjugator and the attendant fleet.

What money do you think you can buy for a strike against that fleet? Against a superweapon that WILL be unleashed on whatever is brought?
>>
> “No.”

“No,” you say. You motion for the three of you to walk out of the medbay. “Look.” Once you know you’re out of earshot of Warmaster Vizsla and company, you start walking and talking all the way back to your ship. “The plan is to go back to his fleet. I’ll talk with Admiral Reike. I want to get our money first, and I want to tell him I’m done, I’m out of the game. After that, we can discuss how we want to handle that Force Harvester or whatever we want to do.”

Vikker nods. “At least you’re not going in with your heart, you’re going in with your brain. I’ll work with that.”

“You don’t have to come, Vik,” you say.

“I do,” he says. He punches you gently in the arm. “This is my fault you’re even in this mess, I gotta make it right. Besides, if you die, I’m out of a really good treasure finder.” Fair enough.

You arrive at the docking tube leading to your ship. Kuvasz stops before he steps in. “Listen. I’m proud that you’re taking a stand against this. Even if it means your life.” He snaps his finger, giving you an approving nod. “Whatever happens, I’m with you.”

“Bah, don’t get so sentimental!” Vikker pushes Kuvasz into the docking tube. Alright, that’s Vikker and Kuvasz. Misri’s already in.

But where’s Whisper? “Captain Cykgil.” You turn around.

Whisper stands there, her robes underneath her arm. The cybernetic limbs of hers have now been fully cloaked by synthskin. Her once robotic legs are now replaced by heavenly curvy human legs. Her arm is now wrapped up as well, but you can see the pale skin leaking through it. She folds her arms, quickly puffing a loose strand of hair out of her eyes. “Did I miss something.”

You nod. “I can explain later. Get aboard.” You smirk a little. “Nice skin though.”

“Let’s just get this over with,” she says with a slight blush on her cheeks. You tilt your head to look at her swaying hips and fine rear as she steps past you. Yep, that’s natural.

If you die, you’re definitely going to miss that.

There's actually surprisingly very little information on how it works. But I treat it as sort of a duller form of skin. It does feel like real skin, but touch and feel is more... duller. Not sure how to describe it. That's how I write it anyway.

As for what Whisper thinks, she mostly thinks of them as "those nice savages."

Before we get anywhere near the imperials we need to stock up on weapons and all.

And then stuff a fucking blaster cannon in our arm.
>>
>>46150098
Thanks for the thread German.

So time for upkeep, any faction changes, upgrades/repairs, etc, etc.
>>
>>46150033
Sometimes I wonder if it is just Rebel Anons trying to think of every way to get us to join the Rebellion.

>>46150082
If we go in with just the intention of getting our money, checking the situation, and leave. What is there for the Inquisitors to work with?
This way, we're only going to decide on what to do, AFTER we are out of the Inquisitor's sights.

>>46150064
Han grabbed the cash reward and still managed to save the Rebellion from Death Star 1. Han set the bar on what can be done.
>>
>>46150172
We should play with Whispers new booty. Or thighs. OR whatever.
>>
>>46150172

Thanks for running Schteel-senpai!
>>
>>46150200
Han had two arms and plot armor. Schteel murders waifus.
>>
>>46150189
>And then stuff a fucking blaster cannon in our arm.

Not blaster, disruptor.

Gotta plan against inquisitors.
>>
>>46150172

Is is similar in concept to Luke's replacement hand?
>>
>>46150191
There hasn't been any changes besides the addition of synthskin.

>>46150207
I've been planning to write Whisper smut for a while.

>>46150235
Sort of.
>>
>>46150200
Because han collected from the good guys.

We are not collecting from the good guys.

Also Han OP.
>>
>>46150064
The money can pay for bodysculpting surgery, the necessary bribes and payoffs for services by the Hutts/Black Sun to get us Imperial credentials to get on to whatever ship that Reike put the Force Harvester on, and a slicer droid to help us in the actual strike.

>>46150082
>if he uses the inquisitors to check
Of course Reike will have the Inquisitors check. We double-crossed and lied to him every single time he sent us on a job.
The point is, he'll have his Inquisitors watching us the entire time, so even if we do try to do something when we're there, they'll be there to stop us.
He probably has a tracking beacon on our ship, too, since it was in his ship's bay long enough for a tech to have placed one there.
So if we start trying to contact Rebel cells for assistance, he'll find out.

Come on, use your head a little to plan this out.
>>
>>46150243
DO IT!

Add misri too while your at it.

So are Eudora and Jacko a thing now?

Also how did Jessie and Inthorian guy died?
>>
>>46150243
Hows that plan on stuffing weapons into arm?

Also any chance of getting some beskar garm from the furies?
>>
>>46150227
We have a cybernetic arm that might be upgraded to have a weapon attachment at this rate alongside our normal arm.

And since we didn't have to roll dice for what we've done and survived a force user. We have some rudimentary form of plot armor.
>>
>>46150263
>So if we start trying to contact Rebel cells for assistance, he'll find out.

>We're on the furies ship

>Still using our own comms equipment to call rebels.

>Also assuming we would not have swept our craft for trackers after the previous thread, especially after some anons already asked for that.
>>
>>46150243
By the way what does the Furies fleet look like now? They said they added new crew and ships to their fleet, so how is that working for them?

Also how are they dealing with Jabba?
>>
>>46150306
We still have the private channel Eudora gave us.
>>
>>46150268
Jacko keeps the relationship strictly as friends and professional. He doesn't want Eudora rushing in to save him in hopeless situations. He'd definitely do the same for her though.

Jessie and Wyrs were killed buying time for Jacko to escape. They were hunted down by the new TIE Defenders.

>>46150269
Stuffing weapons into the arm can be a thing.

As for items from the Furies, they'd be more than happy to give you anything you need that's Mandalorian provided you give it back once you're done.

>>46150307
It's mostly just new recruits and new Y-Wings. Nothing has changed in the capital ship department.

As for Jabba, they've been keeping mobile to avoid his patrols, and especially are keeping out of Hutt Space. Wild Space is sort of the home for the Furies at the moment.
>>
>>46150306
Did we get confirmation from German that the ship was swept for bugs?
Will we be able to contact any Rebel cells via HoloNet? Undoubtedly some use HoloNet dead drop accounts, but wouldn't most use face-to-face meetings and physical dead drops for making contact?
>>
>>46150243
>>46150172

I like the idea of artificial skin having a sort of lessened or unnatural sense of tactility rather than being a perfect replacement. It explains why more people don't get cybernetic replacements except when injured despite the fact that they are going to be stronger and more effective than one's natural parts.
>>
>>46150384
Can you answer these questions >>46150400
>>
>>46150384
Did they lose any ships from wild space or by Jabba?
>>
>>46150384
SO i imagine whisper thinks more highly of rhys by helping her with getting synthskin.

How did Eudora lose her nose?
>>
>>46150400
>>46150466
The ship was swept for bugs, none were found.

As for contacting Rebel cells, Eudora's channel only extended to Separatist holdouts, of which there are none left.

>>46150469
Nope
>>
>>46150488
Eudora didn't lose her nose what are you talking about anon
>>
>>46150512
Oops, I misread Eudora with Misri and assumed she lost it during the fight. My bad.

What about the other question about Whisper? Did her opinion of him imrprove or are we treading the similar hero worship, Misri had?

and Erma still mad at us? What would have happened if we tried to patch things up with her instead or helping Whisper?
>>
>>46150581
1. Her opinion of Rhys has always been relatively high, mostly of him as Captain of the ship.

2. And yeah, Erma's still mad. You don't exactly let go of that kind of pain in one conversation like she said.
>>
This quest went downhill ever since Anon started being retarded. We had something good back at the start where we were being an imperial-biased vaguely-moral scoundrel. Now it's just kinda...meh. See all this recent hub-bub with Admiral Reike, where we keep screwing him over (despite that *always* coming back to bite us). Schteel writes a fun quest, but /tg/ can't stop being retarded.
>>
>>46150638
Does Jacko know of any other cell or path to call to get through to other rebels?
>>
>>46150687
You can't argue with the anons who think that being an amoral mercenary criminal is playing a flat character.
They want to have scruples and won't let profit get in the way of being a moral rebel sympathizer.
>>
>>46150638
Huh, as only captain of the ship? You would think by now it would have been by other aspects? is it because she is used to athority figures?

Is it because we're captain she tolerates our flirting?
>>
>>46150740
You'd have to ask him.

>>46150760
You're the Captain of the ship is how she basically defines some of your character. She's already gleaned a lot more about you based simply on the way that you fight.

As for why she tolerates your flirting, she knows its mostly just jokes. She's very aware of how ugly she is. She isn't.
>>
>>46150796

Is your Kotor 2 waifu, Handmaiden.
>>
>>46150757
I didn't figure any specific camps. I just said that the conflict of these groups is ruining the quest.

personally, i like the rogueish scoundrel approach, where we blatantly smuggle weapons and raid tombs for a living, but we're not really a Bad Guy per se
>>
>>46150822
No, it's Visas.
>>
>>46150830
We are sort of one but every scoundrel has lines they wont cross. I guess for us, its mass murder.
>>
>>46150830
Of course, the people killed by the people who bought our weapons aren't our concern.
Once the merchandise leaves our hands, the responsibility is literally out of our hands, right?
>>
>>46150842
The way I see it, we do bad things, but we're not a bad guy. Rhys is motivated by self preservation first, profit second, balanced with morality third. He doesn't stick up for random schmucks, but by G-d does he stick up for his friends.

>>46150853
Basically, yes. We'll happily smuggle drugs and spice for Jabba (so long as he pays us), but handing over an ancient sith superweapon to a known war criminal who has explicitly stated that he will use it liberally is a Really Really Bad Idea.
>>
>>46150836
How many people, roughly, have the Furies killed?
And not in combat, but simply spaced after a surrender?

Have the Furies spaced civilian passengers?
Have they taken girls to be inducted into the Mandalorian way of life after spacing or executing the parents?
I know they're known for space piracy, but have they also attacked settlements? Did they stick to Imperial shipping or were all ships that travel the hyperspace lanes open to being boarded?
>>
we're never going to get the aurodium and we never should have given it to reike in the first place
now that he has it, he'll never give it back. that's his power over us.
we should stop working for reike asap
>>
>>46150916
Lots.

Civilian passengers, no.
New recruits are generally girls who were orphaned by Imperial occupiers or those who really just want to stick it to the Empire.
They mostly just stuck to Imperial shipping.
>>
>>46150938
So you want us to believe that German, in one of his non-story posts, lied to us?
That's a pretty tall order to swallow. Why should we believe you over German?
Does he have a history of lying to players after the session is done for the day?
>>
Hey guys.

You know what we should do?

We should go back.

And go find that Jedi to unleash onboard the star destroyers.
>>
>>46150836
I'm sorry german but you have shit taste.

>>46150796
By the way don't we still have that communicator that let's us talk to the rebels in a secure line? or was that only for Eudora's cell?
>>
>>46150992
>And go find that Jedi to unleash onboard the star destroyers.
Maybe he'll agree to help.
More likely he'll continue to brood and sulk in solitude.
>>
Btw do we still have a penatly when it comes to using a star fighter on our prostetic arm?
>>
>>46150981
>So you want us to believe that German, in one of his non-story posts, lied to us?
i'm just saying it like i see it
if i was reike, i would use the aurodium as a carrot-on-a-stick to keep rhys in him employ
furthermore, since we have literally backstabbed him at every single turn, he is probably not going to give us that nice shiny stack of credits once we're done. granted, he is a man of his word, but we've been nothing of the sort and i wouldn't count on his word or his honour with regards to us.
>>
>>46150992
He may work as a distraction, since it's believable that he would have felt the Force disturbance from the use of the Force Harvester and come to stop it.
But not as part of Rhyse's actual strike team, since the Inquisitors will be sent straight at any Jedi that appear, as well as the full might of Reike's full fleet.
In fact, since he fought alongside Jedi and he knows their powers, he may just decide to open up the entire ship that a Jedi is on to vacuum and order all crew to the escape pods.
>>
>>46151033

Better than nothing.

Also, he provides a fucking fasinating solution to reike's bullshit reading powers.

You cant be detected in a lie if you don't believe its a lie in the first place or if you don't even know about the details at all.
>>
>>46151079
>i'm just saying it like i see it
Then you're ignoring German's posts where he says that Reike will give us the money and let us go if we just tell him we're done, so long as Rhyse does it after a job has been finished.

German said that Reike will do this, not "might" or "will consider".
So your "just saying it like i see it" goes completely against what has been literally said will happen, by Word of God.
>>
>>46151022
You do, but only for Eudora's cell.
>>

>It really depends on how the relationship is voided.
How about after successfully completing a job and NOT LYING ABOUT IT, a "I'm sorry, Admiral, but my piloting ability has degraded to the point I'm no longer confident that I can give you the results you want, and I'd prefer to retire"?

Yeah, Reike is reasonable enough. That doesn't mean he won't try to pull you out of retirement though if he needs something from you but he'll allow it.

>Yeah, Reike is reasonable enough
>he'll allow it

So, I guess you didn't see this, huh?
>>
>>46150796
What else did she discover about us through our repeated sparing now? Compared to the first time we did so.

Also so we still suffer penalties when we fly spaceships?
>>
>>46151287
She knows that you're a pilot based on the fact that you slightly hesitate on punching (an indicator of someone who doesn't want to lose their hands), she's figured you for an underhanded pragmatist based on how you attack her, and she's already figured out that you're kind of a pervert based on the way that your eyes float around her breasts and her legs.

As for penalties, Rhys only needs some adjustment before he's back to flying like normal.
>>
>>46151387
http://pastebin.com/GwmnU8gC

Updated the pastebin let me know if i made an error.

So how does she work out the fact Rhys checks her out if she thinks she's ugly?

Also is her hip swaying intentional like Misri?
>>
>>46151456
She thinks Rhys just has poor taste in women.

And as for the hip sway, it's not intentional. That's just what Whisper does.
>>
>>46151490
oh wow, talk about being a pessimist.

though wouldn't she be a little happy that at least someone finds her appealing?
>>
>>46151490
obviously we need to wrestle
>>
>>46151521
During her childhood, her Sisters made it a point to tell Whisper that anybody who found her attractive clearly has never seen an actual woman before.
>>
>>46151546

Good thing they're all dead then.

We need a shopping episode, Misri and Whisper.
>>
>>46151546
Oh wow, what bitches. I bet they didn't get any either by how they act and probably never wil considering Whisper tore them apart.

Though on the otherhand i thought Whisper will realize that Rhys had seen real woman before.
>>
>>46151582
The most she's seen Rhys interact with so far is Misri who Whisper can clearly identify as Miraluka, Jennis the Zygerrian, Imperial Officers, and the Furies.

She hasn't seen a single NORMAL woman talk to Rhys.
>>
>>46151604
What human woman?

so real = normal? Whisper's mindset kind of makes me laugh, on the otherhand the woman Rhys interact with are attractive.
>>
>>46151604
>She hasn't seen a single NORMAL woman talk to Rhys.
Considering his line of work, she never will.
They kinds of women that Rhys interacts with are criminals, low-lifes, and the dregs of society.
Or they're military officers.

I mean, really, what middle-class law-abiding woman have we ever even approached in the entirety of this quest?
>>
>>46151635
Unfortunately, Whisper doesn't consider herself attractive. She just doesn't see herself as normal as either Echani or as a regular girl.

>>46151677
Honestly, I can't remember.
>>
>>46151684
>Honestly, I can't remember.
As far as I can remember, we haven't actually interacted with anyone that's a law-abiding female.
The only law-abiding people we interacted with were that Cygnus engineer we swiped the datapad from, and maybe one or two ship engineers. And they were all male, by the way.
>>
>>46151684
So she's suffering a logical fallacy? So how does she feel about herself now she has Synthskins?

and I'm not sure we ever met a middle class girl.

Also so what will the Mando's do now that Rhys pleaded with them to stop attacking the empire?

Warmaster is dissapointed?
>>
>>46151744
1. She's still a robot masquerading as a normal girl.

2. The Mandos will stop what they're doing, and probably take some time to regroup and figure out what to do next. Warmaster Vizsla is obviously disappointed that she has to stop raiding Imperial shipping.
>>
>>46151778
Other shipping to raid, wars to fight.

They'll find something else to do, until we raise the warhorn and declare open season on the Empire once more.
>>
>>46151778
So, how feasible is it to change Rhys' appearance to not be recognized by Reike or any of his forces?

Like the list of things from >>46150033
>some plastic surgery and cosmetic cybernetics put in around our eyes, a voice modulator, a dye job, and a new ship
>>
>>46151778
Well I'm sure she feels happy that Rhys warned her and tried to help her and her crew.
>>
>>46151778
So she feels worse since she feels fake?
>>
>>46151886
Cosmetics are given some amount of regulation in the Empire to prevent rebels and criminals from changing their appearance. Underground plastic surgeons though are well-known, just keep away for Doctor Evazan.

>>46151905
She's always felt fake, fake with the robot arms, now with fake skin too. She feels like the second coming of General Grievous.
>>
>>46151778
Any chance of rhys picking up more exotic personal arms and armaments in the future. Some of the storm trooper variants are amazing, not to mention everything else.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1yZMSMLxo0
And thats just one out of four parts!

Also how does Misri envision using her force powers in the future, or is she merely learning them to connect with her lost childhood/heritage. How does the average smuggler view our colourful crew. i imagine there are crews that have many species but perhaps not so many rarities, or implausibilities (echani and mandalorian together and not killing each other/enslaved to the other).
>>
>>46151964
You'll have to see in the future.

And as for Misri, she's just trying to figure out how the Force works on her own. And honestly, the average smuggler might not care, there have been weirder crews.
>>
>>46151993
How much time do we have on this job?

Is returning to the jedi an option?
>>
>>46152048
Plenty of time.

And returning to the Jedi can be a thing provided he's still there.

Anyway, I have to go to sleep, night y'all.
>>
>>46151993
I love how customized our fighters are, I wonder how detectable it is in, say, a fighter's sensor suit to determine our rides aren't ordinary. Before the first pass and unconsensual laser cannon perforation begins. I find it hilarious some random opponent could run into sparks and not realize he's super maneuverable, has shields, 8! laser cannons, and can swivel 2 of those on a turret. Besides being just a badass robo pilot in general as well. Its a funny though, someone running afoul of Rhys and friends and not realizing it. Or perhaps realizing it. We really must meet that unnamed rebel pilot we've terrified some day.
