Before official business be conducted on investigation a patchfix will be implemented effective this subfloor.

The Salt Patch
>Any actions unlisted from Stores or does not draw from a consistent precedent [like ones established from a previous list] costs a PCA. Examples including experimental fusions, and social interactions.
>Overwatches that doesnt stun, cause traumatic damage, alter-battlefield conditions that the overwatch is reliant upon, or isn't a trap setting off doesn't terminate action string. Action strings that can legally continue under certain assumptions may /accidentally/ continue under new circumstances. >In short damage will no longer terminate action strings but varying circumstances still can which becomes hard to list.
> Empty Hand rule: Empty hands require no action to equip items they have picked up off the field. It still requires an action to interact with your inventory.

>Dark Tendency/Battle Intuition clarifications. Dark Tendency [aka. The Precognition Mechanic] is an ability base hunters receive. As it was slated for the Cloak and Dagger update, it shall now be clarified / officiated here.

>Dark Tendency allows for the Hunter to overwatch an entire range of their actions [for the same action cost] as if it was their active turn. This includes movement, attack actions , and base hunter actions.
Advance classes that had hunter as a base regains this ability as Battle Intuition. Battle Intuition is mechanically similar to Precognition however;
- It is an ability that can be stolen by Midians.
Since it falls under the purview of overwatch, legal triggers of overwatch are still necessary for the actions to proc. The technicality of these triggers are only possible if the character itself is aware of it happening via Sight Range or other auditory/visual signals they can comprehend.

Shit that will get you destroyed worse than you can imagine:
-Dropping items from Inv to then pick up and equip with your free hand.
- Placing items in Inv to pick up new items with empty hand
- Generally abusing this gate to bypass the fact that Swapping Equipment is one action
- Tap Dancing your inventory
I am leaving this door open for people who are willing to try /just try it/
until a better more intuitive item action equipment economy list is made cause cusps of cusps just creates more cusps.

Is not Lacklustre riceballs! Is perfectly spherical delicious riceball deliciousness. You are mean-barking dog person. Rabbits is most insulted and will only cook tiny extra large-big slice of kibble for you next time, mistery dog.

>>46238713
Is simple-easy truth.

Bellaim Prison is bad place.
Hunters hide in Salt Flats, and trade bodies-people there. So is Nerotan tradery-map, see!

Serif Core City is bad place, is where trading with bodies end up. Is easy to see, since Hunters come from where is Salt, and Salt is close to Serif which is where Great Big Jonasy-Mendelle has special secret core-ship drill-lab.

Bellaim is Volgon.

So maybe Wyrd Hunters thinks is clever-clever, and seek Salt Flats, and Serif and Bellaim. Also of course is Armed Armistan, who sought the where Lion-Snake-Eagle-Goat once fought. Is only one place where 4 great-big armies had great-big battle, and is Salt Flats. Also Hunters all smell of salt. Rabbits cannot stress this enough because Rabbit direly needs salt to make-fix his delicious ricyballs-spheres.

But look-look! What is connecting them all? What is where Salt and Serif and Prison all meet? Is meeting in Argent Sea. Is perfect transport-fix node.

So see! Is Truth Without Bias, and Rabbitspaw is having solved The Case. Is therefore best Lux Pact Shinobi Detective. So who is loafing now, Mistery BurkHarder?

Meave searched Femto's eyes in shock before pursing her lips into a frown. "As an arcanist, your views are flawed, not viewing a situation from all angles to understand it." Tears began to well up in her eyes, as she understood a truth she had been desperately been denying to herself. "I may have been wrong myself, Femto. That failure was being driven by hope... Your parents... oh how I imagine your parents would weep as I do now at this truth.."
Meave's hands closed into a grip around Femto's throat and she began to squeeze, tears now streaming down her face.

Legs kicked up as he was lifted off the ground. Latvian watched with an unchanged expression. The boy had given his lasting permission.
" Killer of Vidofnir, Last survivor of Lanternreap and witness to the fall of their angels and sworn enemy of the Wyrd Hunt, should any of these be true stay your hand mage and accept the death that is being placed on you. Should any of these be untrue and should the truth however limited we know it does not these hands justify then say only the word , Summoner Femto and I will strike down this woman where she stood "

He didn't move. His fists were clenched as if to deliberately stay their hand.

" Then... may you find peace child ... in the next life, in the next world, the next universe- may you find it "

Tears began to well up as his breath escaped his body. His fist opened up.

With a flutter of wings, Sturmraug flew to the boy's body and perched on top of him, it pecked through the folds of his clothes and produced a whistle before it faded itself.

" It was inevitably Meave, you did what had to be done. As his next of kin I'm sorry that the task had to befall on you. " Latvian handed her Femto's whistle before walking off herself...

> Clogged Whistle gained.

You are maybe hard of hearing, Mistery Hetros. Rabbits understand you were standing near great-big explosion! Must be hurting-harm ears. Rabbitspaw will for your benefit slowly repeat what he is am having said-stated.

Hunters smell of salt. Take people to Salt Flats. So is there in Salt Flats. But what is Below Salt Flats? What is Run Of to salt Flats? Where does Salt Flats get salt-fish-ships?
Is great big Argent Sea.

Argent Sea which is also transport-fix node between Serif-Bellaim-Flats. Bellaim Prison is Weapons-Testing for Volgons, or was, but Rabbits is not so sure is still Weapons Testing, or even Mendelle - is old research project, yesyes?

So we need to go to Salt Flats, and then in Salt Flats we will find transport-portal, which will take us to Serif which is Mendelle which is where friends are which is where revenge will be. And so also is link to Argent Sea, which is where people hide in great-smart floating metal boxes for kidnapping.

Deciding that nothing can be done about it, the knight decided to go over his equipment since he figured that with the information he has learned and the conversations of his companions over the ainsible, he would see battle soon. As Nordus checked his armor and weapons and performing maintenance on them, a strange sensation of despair formed in his heart. With the weight of an anchor, his heart was being dragged down deeper into sadness so he stopped and raised his head and looked around, wondering of what tragedy just occurred right now.

=Collation Coalition=

" Salt ... Fish...The Fenns ... Bellamy ... Barton ... Mendelle .... Ouruborus.... and Femto... "

Runner crosses his arms as he sits back to think on it staring at a blank map of things gathered.

The Salt flats connect to the Fenn lands, and was site of a decisive battle between the Order, The Volgon Warmachine, and Red Street's coalition... also the place where Jormungand and the Hawks of House M had shown up... "

Bellamy Prison; an even older site where creatures and people were gathered for weapons research conducted by the volgons so many floors ago. It currently stands as the most logical structure to hold that many prisoners however it fell to disuse after the likes of Graves put a stop to it... "

The Argent Seas.. I mean it's only traversible by Airship and currently suffering the tail end of our Great whale's attack... it is however too big to house anything ?

Serif; unlike the Sans Serif is a coretown. A town floor, volgon owned, it's currently owned and operated by the high imperial faction of Volga... and might prove to be too far to even look into.

The Deep: It dwells in the Pneumather but it is also controlled by the Sivvians in that floor. It would definitely fit with our clues thus far. But doesn't explain how Torr /ascended/.

The Outerwall. You need to pass through here to get tothe astral whale or Serif... we might run into someone but nothing about this location makes sense.

I would caution against getting rid of the extraneous pieces where none of our clues point towards leaving us with.

Salt Flats
Bellamy Prison
Argent Sea
The Deep.
>>
Ahem.

We have our target Floors. Now we must ultimately choose among them. Of these I suggest we choose the Salt Flats for our first target. It has the greatest number of clues pointing to it, and we even if it is a decoy it is a decoy that might provide further clues to make an informed decision.

>Salt Flats

These 3. The Deeps is simply too odd with Torr's ascension from the Umbral Sea.

I'd advise that our newbies hit the Salt Flats, maybe with one or two veterans.

The Argent Seas should be a mix of our veterans and Newbies.

And for Bellamy Prison?

It should be our heaviest hitters.
>>
Given we're hitting these one at a time we do not have to decide on all three right now. There might be clues in the Salt Flats which irrevocably cross out the Prison as a target for example.
>>
>>46239927
There's a reasonable flaw in splitting it up in threes, understandibly we would cover more ground but what you must assume is that these are facilities meant to hold what is arguably one of our strongest members -- and have enough to fight off any intruders. Can Rabbitspaw ask a question?

Is not intending to be mean-spirited, but why is the Wyrd Hunt doing this?

Rabbitspaw understands being stolen from is bad-unfun. Rabbitspaw did some stealing sometime. And Wyrd Hunt has lost souls, lost people, lost friends. Is nice to get them back, to find friends-allies and rescue them. Is good. Is happy.

But is also truth without bias to admit that while friends are in jail, Whale Bismuth can roam free to devour towns. Orouborous work to steal-take control of it and use it to destroy. Is how many friends? Is how many people? We lose some, and is bad. Is unhappy. Rabbitspaw is not exactly a fan of Loss.

But while we struggle-fight to free them, how many more die? Am stolen-taken? Is greater cause than Wyrd Hunt friends. Is bigger threat. We am spending so much time-effort-focus on rescuing Friends we forget if we Should. Maybe we should not. Maybe is gone. Sad-unhappy-unwell, but is also Truth.

Should perhaps save Towns and Terminus Crystals and Many, Many People rather than save friends only. Should rally to fight Bismuth. Is Greater Evil.

We /NEED/ the people taken.

Not a 'We will do better with', not a 'We will struggle without but can manage', a straight up 'We NEED to bring them back for this fight or we are shit out of luck' situation.

What we are missing right now constitutes at least half of 'Boss Buster' squad, and half of our current Navigators (Which fine only numbers 2 but Khya can't do everything). I'm in charge now Rabbitspaw I and I am going to put my bloody foot down. I'm tired of people taking advantage of us, and I am tired of people putting the bad word on us because no buggers would believe what we are doing for five seconds together.

And the next bugger that tries to impede us in this duty is going to be sent back to whoever sent them in a sack. And it will be a /very/ small sack.

intended use of Switch - it's the point of the skil to be able to do stuff like there, where everyone else needs to use several actions to accomplish it.

Nope, that was never for sale in the Volgon DMZ - that was an order Armswright. So unfortunately it is impossible to Sub-Deliver the Snub02.

But it's okay, really - we have 3 SA-02 in the group bank. and they're 4 range, 2 ammo with doubletap - which means they're better than Snub02 and Snub03 since they're essentially both combined.

I think Iron Kisses need to be added to the list.

>So how does this work? Do I buy before or during a Floor?
>>
>>46243479
Yeah, those were from Floor 2. 4 ap is as good as it gets for ap so far. Crushing halves armor too so happy bday is a fine choice with the aoe.

If you want stuff like Dumbo Shells ( 6 dmg 4aoe knockback) or other infused ammo like it I think it's better to take that up with Coffee - he can use jelly + metal to mold ordnances, they'll pack a heftier kick than anything store surplus. We need metal and jellies for that, though.

As for buying, it's Subdeliver via the skill. You say you want some, I snap my fingers and get you some.

Since we are talking items I still have a Moblin ward with me, I think it would be of great use for someone who is on the frontline to be protected from the close combat attacks, it works on all Ogre related races. It also disrupts moblin summons in sight range so someone with long sight range like a Lux sworn would also be a good candidate.

Also since Penny could not posses the Revenant's leather it is still available for someone to use.

Sorry for deleting my post slight clarification must be made that Revenant's leathers is level 6.

Well if we visit Serif the Coreship, we can possibly ask the Volgon's there for one. It's also likely we can find examples of the technology on floors where we find Helmarines or other such technology. Obviously we'll earmark any we find for Alquemists like you. Also I think we should work on acquriing some Forcehead Rocket Launchers, like we saw Pest Control use on Floor 3 - their rockets are good for applying solution at long distances, and now we're getting to where we have some solution to play with!

Oh, also - Coffee>>46245744 Penny's Salamander armor, you're one of the only people here who can wield this blessed artefact. I think this needs some work. The abilities are out of synch with the level and power of every other class.

The idea of getting items and standing in for shops is kinda cool but the magnate doesn't work at all. the contracts are from shops randomly generated 2 or 3 levels ago. So the arms contract can get you a hunting rifle? That's a gun no one has used for 2 floors. Every gun you can buy is worse than the guns everyone gets for free with merit. A sn03 has 3 range and 2 ammo. Look at the miliita players, look at the level of opposition. Who would ever use that gun at this stage? You can buy bullets too, for more more expense than just buying them in the corridors. And now those are given for free as well every 2nd level. If you could buy exotic ammonition or ask for ammonition to spec like "I need something that kills demons, give me whatever you have for 500z!" then at least it'd be workable. This is literally getting the same ammo other people can get but yours is more expensive to acquire.

Red Street means throwing knives and maybe sleep bombs? So the advance class can replenish the gear of lvl 1 rogues with nothing better. That just isn't on the same level as Slayers dealing out 60 damage a round, navigators turning back time, ghouls living through everything.

You can hire volgons for 600? plus their weapons? So you pay 1260 and you get a single militia with a hunting rifle. So now you have a single militia with a weapon that's worse than everyone else is using. You probably have to pay for their bullets too.

Meanwhile the Summoner gets 6 different creatures for 1 skill, they cost a single shard to summon (120z for that) and the shard is re-usable. What's a single militia with a subpar gun going to do against an act 5 move 10 atk 9 moth? A Red Street Rogue isn't going to stack up to that either, and the summon gets better every time the [e] gets +mag or lvls or items or a shinier shard.

the problem is that "existing arms" in the shops just aren't very good. So why would you want to buy them? At full value + delivery, no less. It's a total waste of time and effort.

How much is an alquemist with a forcehead rocket launcher going to cost? 1200 + 100 + 3000 for the rocket launcher? +2000 for the infusions and crystals? That's 6300. A single mlitia with a helmarine rifle? Eyeballing it seems like 7000 or so. For that same amount of money the summoner has acquired a darc bloq or a level 8 tri-magic book with +10 mag, and summoned a moth and told it to kidnap you and all your family. As demonstrated.

A 300 free adventurer? So it's a level 1 or 2 slave? Why would you want that? A scholar gets the ability to blow up the entire map with sacred geometry. A vampyre can literally enslave people with their bite, gain skills and shapeshift (which means it gets disguise + contract bodyguard + the ability to actually survive being hit but midians are cheaters anyway) A shinobi can blow up everything with their chi, hit for 7 barehanded and act during the dungeonphase. A weiss can dual weild war maidens and get 12 def. a navigator can give someone +3 acts, or turn back time. A slayer can spinslash + twist an do 30 damage to everyoen around them. A ghoul can eat people, grow arms, regenerate, and gain rolling stats and buffs over the floor.

A magnate can spawn a level 1 rogue and then maybe give them a throwing knife and a sleep bomb for 200% the cost of those items. Or fire a gun and get the same ammo as everyone else so they can keep firing their gun. And then that's their entire turn and the ghoul eats them.

The earlier system system for contracts with arms being "every named munition" and "red market" being +100 per base skill, 200 per advance skill seems a little more useful than this iteration.
>>
>>46249714
You're kind of out of date on the summons. As an adept summoner with an extra sign from the Herotales, I believe I'm currently summoner level 5, with a book level of 4, and probably tied for highest MAGPOW power in the entire group at 10. With a shard, my moths are only 4 ACT, 10 MOV 6 ATK 7 HP 4 MAG. So still very powerful, but also still fragile and possible to kill, and I have to be careful as to what I tell them to do. Also, the only 'direct combat' moth is the Assassin, and it will only kill 1 creature before returning for orders, and it won't necessarily do it quickly. The Pyras moth will kill, but I'm not sure it takes orders to kill specific individuals. Just to destroy things? And it's not exactly discriminating about it.

I don't think being of by 1 act and 3 atk (which you can remedy by using a crystal to summon by the way) is really changing the nature of my confusion at this iteration of the contract idea.

It just doesn't seem worth it. There already is a "call for help from other sources" class and that class is the summoner - and the summoner does it better. I mean, a 4 act 10 move 6 atk 7 hp 4 mag moth?

a 2 act 3 move 1 atk 4 hp 1 mag volgon or
a 3 act 3 move 2 atk 4 hp 2 mag rogue isn't at all going to match
a 4 act 10 move 6 atk 7 hp 4 mag moth or just as high stat Beast or Hero.

and the volgon cost ten times as much! At least the Red Street rogue is cheap.

>A shinobi can act during the dungeonphase.
Excuse me Anon but since when is this even legal? No character sheet I saw until now says anything about that. Not to mention that is an absurdly powerful thing. That makes $hinobi have double the turns and double the acts as literally EVERYTHING else that exists in the game, including monsters and even boss monsters.
>>
>>46250874
[Shinobi Reflexes] - if surprised by something (like a trap) and if they have acts spare, Shinobi can act during Dungeon Phase.

For an example, here's $2 Rabbitspaw dodging a skeleton.
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/45814910/images/1457190893994.png

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/45814910/images/1457195719620.png

It's not "they get their full acts every phase", it's "if they move with 2 actions and then get interrupted by something surprising them during the third they get to change their action". So if Skeleton suddenly comes to life and tries to stab the shinobi, they can jump out of the way like Rabbitspaw did, or if the floor buckles they get to save everyone like Beckie did.

It still gets interrupted via Overwatching, but it's a very useful ability for exploration dark spaces full of monsters. It's useful and makes room clearning if there's fog at least somewhat viable for a shinobi.
>>
>>46250874

I can confirm they can, but only if they bump into an enemy in the FoW with actions remaining. I think.

Rabbitspaw used it a few times in the last floor.

>>46249714
>>46250021

What you are saying has some good points but there is one small snag in your reasoning.

These are shitty level 1 contracts available from the word go. It's the Magnate equivalent of the blunderbuss and the rogue starting daggers and comparing a class that we have yet to even take onto a floor, with the classes we have tried and tested for multiple floors, you can't give an accurate picture of the class' overall effectiveness from that.

All I know is I want my Militia 2.0 class already so I will remain in my base class.
>>
>>46250874
If they are surprised while moving about fog of war, then they can redo any unspent actions they have left at the time of being surprised. It's shinobi reflexes. Remember when Beckie ran into that disguised moth man in luxendarc?
>>
>>46251128
But this is like a skill + an entire class item.

The shitty level 1 summoning skill for the summoner gets you a 4 act 10 move 6 atk 7 hp 4 mag moth monster. Or bind and you capture people and get incredibly powerful boons.

Shitty level 1 alquemist engravings give people +mag+ballball damage every attack or infusions.

shitty lvl 1 reversals or accells from a navigator?

shitty lvl 1 red petals on a Shinobi or spirit fist or status detriments

shitty lvl 1 ability to eat anyone on a ghoul? or free stat gains? Or the ability to turn everyone into a zombie movie?

shitty lvl 1 turn your enemies into powerful weapon artefacts viscount or double the acts with rig or attacks from inventory

shitty lvl 1 mind-control people while walking through walls while gaining stats+hp+skills from drinking blood vampyres

shitty lvl 1 17 damage slayer

shitty lvl 1 zwei swert weiss for double atks double defense 2 targets a round 2 ground slashes

shitty lvl 1 recursion nuke scholar or polarize or sacred geo field

shitty lvl 1 come at me bros i have 9 def paladin 7 atk

I get that it gets better over time, sure, it probably does but it seems super super super anemic right now. Summoners get better over time too but they start of way stronger. So while everyone else summons gods or hits for 17 damage or acts during the dungeonphase or eats people you get a cruddy rifle, a worse handgun, an overpaid rogue contract, a throwing knife or the choice of 3 kinds of bullet. Or a volgon. you have to pay for the volgon and the cruddy rifle.

I guess maybe contract bodyguard but reading through the archives it looks like you've mostly fought crazed cultists, slimes, skeletons, ghosts, ghouls, monsters, reapers, soul-eaters, literal demons and crazed moblins along with pumpkins. I don't know how many of them exactly are up for signing a contract. i wanted to join in and play a cool international bullet mans but i think i'll wait a bit now. or play guide. guides are cool.

>>
>>46251648
A shitty level 1 summoning skill with base equipment gives you a moth with 1 ACT. 6 MOV. 3 ATK. 3 HP. 1 MAG. Clearly a titanic threat to your 3 act Red Street Rogue.
>>
>>46251648
>Ability to buy or at least price check any item we've seen previously, full stop.
>Ability to do the same for any weapon

In it's way, the magnate contracts (especially if you go out of your way during corridors to establish contracts with shops beyond the initial two you are given the option of grabbing) are incredibly powerful because they allow the players to grab items that are otherwise only available on the floors themselves.

They retain the only straight up ability to convert enemies, and one of the most powerful stealth abilities in the game as it is item based rather than magically based, and allows you to be seen without a chance of breaking it (unlike adept hunter's lurk). And allows you to move and interact with the foe (unlike shinobi's orange leaves). Only the Vampyre's near-shape shift is more potent, and that one requires them to have drained somebody apparently.

Plus, notice that the suitcase has 2 slots. It's quite likely that a scholomance contract would let you send off items from the case to be fused on call, or making a contract with an armswright to upgrade it, etc.etc.

Volgon means you can buy any item that's a gun or ammo for a gun.

Red Street means more than just bombs and such, it probably also lands you way more stuff, probably at a mark up, but there's no reason it can't get you other shit.

Magnate is a support class on par with the Navigator at the end of the day in how drastically it can effect the battlefield, especially since ammo types have been limited to 4 bagless stacks rather than infinite bagless stacks.

Your summoner argument is flawed in thinking that it starts off as a mega powerpunch. It's true but that power comes at the price of crystals and natures which requires another class to make or it's about as rare as weapons for your class. And this much pissing and griping was heard before on Ghoul too. And Ghoul turned out to be a decent class with staying power and overtime potential ?

I dunno about you, but the ability to buy disposable humans on the map or the ability to hire them on as body guards - or really /anything/ as bodyguards becomes severely overlooked in context to everything else the Magnate does.

Maybe they're not about power ? Or maybe they're about converting your one resource into something more palatable on the field. Or skipping a step in VPS acquisitions. You're gonna have to realize that there is a technical cost to tactically calling something down from 3 floors ago, and that - in more advance forms of playing this class - there are shadows in their acquisition ability that has potential in getting you a lot of zenny.

Deploying in Fog ?
Hitting behind enemy lines ?
Causing enemies to Defect ?
Social Engineering ?
Getting Satan to sign your contract ?
THis is a lot of shit you could be using on top of the fact that you're knife twirling rogue or a gun modding militia. And the real gamble here is that every advance class takes a floor to percolate into badasses. This is proven fact and it becomes the same song everytime I make new content so I'm not even going to wait to say I told you so.
>>
>>46252267
>Deploying in Fog ?
This is the big one.

Sensor mines from Floor 2 and 3 anyone?

Imagine deploying those facing the enemy inside of the fog of war. You can see them once you come across them because it was your trip mines. But the enemy just had the suckers planted fully deployed right infront of their movement.

People always grumble Feth 'em. I'm sure it'll be cool. Hell, it is cool. Disguise is neat. I would kinda like more bullets though. Or at least like, a single grenade. An Arms Contract with 3 bullets when there's 18 so far and no bombs at all is a very pacifistic kind of arms contract.
=====

Anyway! On to more importan things! I'd like to ask the group bank for a loan. There's 2300 slated for Goldjoy, but we haven't seen hide hair or golden sheen of him. So give it to me. I'll pay 3000 back in.

And in fact, if anyone wants to donate I'll open the TRIGGER BULLET BANK, which, aside from personal funds (currently 10z), will be used to pay for bullets and other such interesting items should we be on the Floor (Like black bag extraction squad of mercenaries). This is a temporary measure, but I don't yet possess the ability to swind--- constructively haggle people out of their money, so I need some start up capital.

Bullets currently happy bday, stun or irondrop.

" Being a Runner is far less glamorous than it looks !"
>>
I suppose for this investigation; and I'd loathe to try it - we can try splitting our resources in one of two ways.

Successive Reconnaissance.
Deployment is fluid, and more can be deployed to the subfloor as the situation arises. But those who do can't participate next subfloor. and the sub floor clock will continue to tick down from the point where the last one left.

Twin Deployment. Time is not shared between the two maps, but the declared maps must have a pre-declared roster. Further more of the two chosen locations success MUST be achieved since the conclusion of both means that that subfloor clock has expired.

-Again it's 15 units per-SubFloor and those who participated in a subfloor cannot participate in a second one.

-But if you were to ask me; I would suggest being confident with your one answer and electing to successively deploy on our mark...
>>
>>46262118
wait? What's the logic behind us having only one clock between two subfloors?

We're deploying to both of them at the same time.

EG: Turn 29 on Subfloor A is happening simultaneously with Turn 29 on Subfloor B.

How can it be if w use up 15 turns on Subfloor A, we only have 14 turns on Subfloor B?
>>
>>46262202
The difference is like that of two strike team tactics:
One team heads out first, and the second stays in reserves waiting for confirmation.
or
Both teams head out into the field simultaneously.
>>
>>46262254
Ah I see, I misread entirely.

I'll leave this up to Burkhard to decide. Honestly I think going for twin strikes on the prison and on the salt flats.
>>
>>46262320
Same here on both counts.
>>
>>46262320
I support his decision on the prison and the salt flats..
>>
I say successive reconnaisance, striking first at the salt flats, then either the sea or the deep following, depending on the info we obtain.

Don't want our little people-snatchers to escape from us, now would we?

>Twin strike would work better for this, but we have to be 100% certain on the second area, since the Sea Flats seem to be almost guaranteed.

Also, something to consider: when looking at these different locations, ask what we hope to achieve at each place. I mean, yes, we're trying to rescue our friends, but does any location offer something that the others don't?

>I haven't been tracking all the clue gatherings and such, so sue me.
>>
>>46262728
Okay.

Bellamy Prison
>Used in the experimentation and creation of monstrous ammalgamations on the orders of Volga
>The project was, if not lead directly by Mendele, then succeeded by him
>The area was supposedly eaten by the mal, but thanks to the portable terminus crystal tech we know of (having rediscovered it and handed it into volgon and other factions), it is fully possible the place is operational
>It has inbuilt facilities for containing, experimenting upon, and improving people, no matter their level
>It is the lowest accessible floor after Bellamin prison, making it the most likely place for contracting demons from the pitch as well, for the purposes of modifying them.

The Argent Sea doesn't have the facilities, even though it's water connected.

The Deeps doesn't match with Torr's rising to the surface, but as the Salt Flats and Argent Sea border on one another (literally) there is every chance he was drug up and brought into the salt flats.
>>
>>46262776
>It is the lowest accessible floor after The Deeps
Corrected.
>>
>>46262776
>>46262785

>>
>>46255984
>>46255948
Math, I guess. Potency divided by stat+1, minimum 2. Coffee doubles potency. 7 pt = 14. I have END 1 - that's END 2, that becomes 14 / 2. That's +7 END. For the floor. Feels like an exploit. I mean I'm still easy to kill, so it's not an issue for me. If I had a Mag boosting potion too I'd be harder.

>>46262728
Isaac's right here, deploy in be fast. There's simply too variables for us to pick one location and we don't have the amount of information we need to find out where we need to go.

Armistan's clue about things being "below the salt" could be useful. But is that below the salt flats so somewhere in the Salt Flats, but underground, or is that the argent sea? We have all these leads and they all point in different directions with none of them being particularly persuasive on their own.

So Salt Flats first, look around, scrounge everything, then it's either there or we have final info on where to actually go.

>>46258295
People who take Joy in Gold, we encountered them earlier. They're a family, pretty big, pretty vast. Their special technique is getting huge.
>>
>>46263362
>>46262728
>>46262118

I'm going to agree on all counts that we go for the Successive Reconnaissance.

Twin Deployments would /maybe/ give us an element of surprise but we've scuppered their operations here already, they know someone will be coming for them not at least because one of the buggers chased after them, and they'll have stepped up their security.

We hit the Salt Flats first, that is a given, we are almost entirely certain that is where most of the people are being taken before they get moved onward towards the prison. And we may be able to track down the locations of Runa the Green, and the missing persons from Barthol Manor in the process.

That and I am almost certain that mission will tell us in more exact terms where all the missing persons are being sent to

Zieg and company wanted to engage the manor, so that would be something we will be considered also.

And then we'll need our heavy mob to crack the prison. Killing Mendele and burning that place to the ground would be a bonus, but our missing persons take top priority, remember that.

>tl;dr
>Salt Flats, for mans and intel, and possibly the missing people from other missions.
>Barthol Manor, for additional intel if needed.
>Bellamy Prison, once we have confirmed unequivocally that they are there and what we will be facing there. We'll want to heavy mob on this one.
>>
>>46263460
All right you lot, you heard the Kommandant!

That's the Salt Flats!

I want everyone checking their gear, getting prepped and ready, sorting out any last minute transactions! Keep in mind the Llama still sells bombs and breads, so pick some up if you're hunkering for a snack or a high explosive.

The Salt Flats! It's where The Order, Red Street, the Volga had a big kerfluffle and that all ended up being dusted by the House of M pulling out an elder Dragon out of their pockets - Jorumungandar or something, big Teras guy. It's big, it's full of salt, and it has run-off ships from the argent sea. It's also a prime position for trading, as we know from the map.

I want to get intel on that map and on that moonstone
>>46240041 (moonstone)
>>46240035 (soul)
>>46239966 (map)

And then I want us organized to move out, all set. We hit that place, get the goods and rescue our friends if our friends are there to be rescued. So let's get it done!

The apparition gave a smile revealing a toothy grin, " It seems like you already know, Fleur"
Without hesitation, Fleur cut a gash on her hand, a ring of red formed after the first drop and the 2nd would push the contents forming a serpentine shape to the gate - and then - a seemingly celestial set of instructions; a stargazing map that would show them the way to an underground facility....

"Y'know, I can't shake this feeling of being targetted by someone"
Sliding a last round into his pistol, hid the sidearm away in the folds of his coat.

"But it got me thinking - this compass here, yeah? #8764. Points to me. So Torr gets taken, and we lose 'him. But Guide connections ain't so long lasting, right? This might be.

What'n if I take a stoll around the plaza, leave this here with you lot? Some snatch and grab dust-off shows up, I shot the first two, get hit with a baton, and you follow this compass right to where they take the lot of us?"
He dropped of the compass as he was talking, slid the holdout firearm into his boot.

"Y'know. Dogs leading people to the well n' all? 'Course I'm only suggesting this 'cause I know you'll say it's a bad plan"

>>46266272

Secondly we have no knowledge of what they are doing with those they take. You could be dead well before rescue arrives. Thirdly to little is known about how the compass works or why it point to you. Trusting it to lead anyone too you over such a distance is foolish."
>>
>>46266272

"Oh no you don't! I nearly had a heart attack when I heard someone tried taking you, I am not going through all that again."

"... also, err. It's ncie to see you too Chief. I missed you. It was dark Out There."

I have a couple of ideas about the compass, if I may be so bold.

Firstly, did it point to you before or after you disguised as one of the thugs? If it was afterwards, it may be some way to keep track of their own down in the Pneumaether, and it picked up their scent on you, so to speak.

Another theory, Mendelle was involved in much hocus-pocus with demons and the like, correct? And with beasties such as those, one would want a way to keep track of them to preven them running rampant, yes? Well, your fine self has also been quite literally to Hel and back, so you may hold some similarities in aura that a fiend-locator might pick up.
>>
>ROLECALL

ATTEEEEEEENSION!

We are getting EVERYONE on deck right now to choose our plan. Scrounge up the magic users, pull the Militia and Knights out of the tavern and someone go find those bloody Rogues and listen up!

We're hitting the [Salt Flats] first with Successive Reconnaissance in play, this means that if we want to see all the subfloors we planned on hitting we need to move /fast/ because we are going to be using the same clock across all of them, but this means that reinforcements can be deployed if need be. Be ready, and be told this won't be easy.

So I'm holding out for volunteers if you want to be part of the scouting unit for the [Salt Flats] subfloor.

Your job will be to go around and scout and report trouble. If we are expecting heavy resistance, our heavy hitters will quickly deploy to bring you the support you may need.

If everything is ok (as ok as it can be at least), then we will send you others for support and then unleash everything we have for the next subfloor, where we expect the rest of our members are being held.

This might be just a storage area between stops, or this could be the prison itself, we don't know but if it turns out there's half a regiment parked on there don't be hero and get some support in. Be prepared for anything.

We have to conserve our numbers to deploy maximum force to the final mission, especially since, with 3 freaking missions, we are quite likely to have less than 15 turns to actually rescue anyone.

Please keep that in mind. We need every hitter we can get, as we will only have 29 turns total."
>>
Sir Hetros that will not work with the path we have chosen. We must clear these floors of suspicion quickly so that the other floors may have a chance to do so in their turn. All floors we deploy to will be sharing the same Timer. A group of levels 1-5 will simply not be enough to do that. Even if it means missing the prison floor should the Salt Flats be a false flag I am needed here and now. As is Sir Kail.

>Leave the Furiosa for a quiet end inn in the better parts of the Corridor with prepped Blitz/Lux/Pyras spells on hand in case of trouble.

It was late when Meave finally emerged from her quarters, eyes still red and puffy. Carrying a small pack, she left the Furiosa quietly. On her door, Meave had tacked a note "I need time to think. Should you need to leave before I return, I'll find a way to catch up."
Hetros would find his bottle of alcohol sitting at his door, untouched.

>>46276312
Making her way down the deserted street, still concealed by the Illusion spells she had cast, Meave stopped at a post box and dropped a letter addressed for Luxendarc into the slot. A tear stained letter written with a shaky and emotionally drained hand.

"Veritas,

I hope this letter finds you well. I can only imagine all the things that has happened since we last saw one another. Things great and small, all so relative but significant in their own way. Since we left Luxendarc, we have met with trying times and even now the Hunt rises to the challenge. We have received the floor notes Floriane had sent and they have proven very useful and continue to provide guidance. On behalf of Wyrd Hunt, you have our sincerest thanks.

I'm afraid I'm not at my best as I write this letter but write this letter I must, for the Blood Mage Femto is no more and the bounty should be taken down. Few, if any, would mourn his passing but I do not count myself among them. Though I slew the child myself, I had hoped with all my heart for his redemption, but that could not be. I found only a truth that I had feared to face when I gazed into his eyes. Trapped by the void and unreachable. I think it likely he was touched by it at the time of Lanternreap's destruction, sealing him with his last emotion.

*Lots of crossing out of words*
As much as I loathed to do it, I think I had to be the one.

As claimant to the bounty, I ask that you take the reward and distribute it as restitution for the Femto's actions.

Please send my warmest regards to the others. I shall endeavor to write again soon. Until then, be well."

Love the characters, love the lines and the colours as usual! But the size isn't optimal as a wallpaper and the composition isn't particularly exciting.

>He scratches his chin and fishes a cigar out of his jacket pocket

"Well, the board around your neck when I picked you up from that bugger in the Slave Market said 'Treacherous Sleekfoot', personally I think that is a very unflattering thing to write about someone, but I'm not going to ask you about it if you don't want to talk about it."

"But, with something like that though I assumed the 'Hello Lass welcome to the Wyrd Hunt, my name's Burkhard my door is always open, you'll like it here it's like a big happy family' spiel wouldn't go down well with you."

>He lights it and puts it in his mouth, taking a few contemplative puffs.

"So I thought you'd prefer if I cut to the chase and just give you the job offer up front. No strings attached and no obligation or pressure to take it if you don't want it."

"As for 50%, I mean to say 50% of my earnings, if your future with us and you are working with me directly, then it's only fair we share that bounty if our money gets pooled together. No slaves in the Wyrd Hunt miss, that's what our bosslady said and since I am boss now until we get her back I'm taking that stance too, so I am giving you the choice to run with the Wyrd Hunt, take it or leave it."

>He takes the cigar out of his mouth for a moment and blows a smoke ring.

"But I think you know as well as most, that right now it's pretty bloody awful for Monsters, between humans blaming you all for stuff a bunch of extremists are doing, and other humans using the growing tension as an excuse to commit atrocities against you. And it's not going to get any better unless the people responsible get a righteous arse-kicking. And we intend to deliver on that, oh yes."

"So in the grand scheme of things, on the list of 'safest places to be right now' I would say in a well armed runner group would be pretty high up the list, wouldn't you say?"

"And I apologise for not asking this first, but what is your name?"

Kail, simple question. Why aren't you using Frimelda's Blade? It sounds much better then your Skybreaker Tomahawk.
>>
>>46288920
Indeed, looks like a typo still managed to slip past me.

>>46289088
Three reasons, actually, I like the stun damage, I have a bunch of Axe Artes, and I can't use it as a mainhand weapon.
>>
>>46289352
Use your shield as your 'main hand' and take the blade that gives you an extra act you doof. Or give it to someone who can use it.
>>
>>46289377
That's the thing, the only way to get that extra act is to have the weapon as your mainhand. And you can't have it as your mainhand unless you have Zwei Schwert.
>>
>>46289377
It's not quite how it works - notice Kail doesn't have Zwei which is how you use it. You can only wear the Frimelda in your offhand, and you can only get that to be your mainhand if it's your left hand but with Zwei Schwert.

The only persons who could benefit is a weiss with Zwei Schwert and a free left hand.

Since we'll be covering ground in the desert, it may be prudent to utilize a small mobile group that would be capable of handling the harsh terrain. If we take all that to account then you'd /Want/;

/Elves for their high movement
/Ordonians for their hearty defenses should the elements prove too dangerous

Rogues and Hunter lines for their mobility
Milita and Guide for lasting power, however don't count on the sand to help with wards.
and Mages for controlling the field, this could be improved with a scholar since they can switch between Lei and Runic as needed, however this comes with the caveat that they would be doing anything more than simply moving through a large expanse of desert where enemies with range or sand speciality would have an advantage over us.

Outrageous! Behind who's shield will you cower when the fiends come at you with clubs and spears raised?! Who will stand watch for you when the forces of evil come pouring in through every cave, corridor and crack?! Who will hold up morale and protect the last bit of humanity in your veins when all you have is ghoulish rage, vapyric hunger and void or guns for brains?!
And most important of all: who will look as good as we knights do in all the sexy sexy armour you'll find? Oh so sexy....
Once again, you've proven to know nothing of the finesses of heroic combat, my friend!

>>
Kail, might I suggest leaving Rabata out of the group for this time around? I believe we should have a few less knights and such like that might slow the group down.
>>
>>46268603
If at any point you're in need of another Rogue, I should be up to the task. Just say the word, my good man!
>>
>>46308311
Given the nature of the task, perhaps waiting is a mistake?

If we're deploying successively, time is of the essence. Few people can cut out quite as much sleuthing as you can. Conjure a Lux Moth, then task it to find either the facility entrace or the scour the entire desert. It can do so in less time than most of us can move 6 spaces.
--

Thinking about it a little our best scounting details are probably:

Velen, who can summon and tasks Moths. They have fantastic move, multiple acts and share vision. Good option (We even have the shards in the bank)

Me, Trigger, who can petition for a Volgon Scout Team. They're neither as fast, possess as many acts or see as much as a Moth, but I could likely get 3 + binoculars, so they could approach multiple angles. They can also fight! Likely price of this is [ 1000*3 = 3000z ], for 600 per scout and +400 in special gear (binoculars, rifles, such-like). I don't have that amount of money.

Watchful, who can see a clean 10 spaces and is a scout detail all on his own. Using his eyes to spot multiple large areas of the map can be revealed at once.

Livia and Bloom, who are midians and can thus phase through the ground to see all around them. This means any barriers in the way won't stop them. Not useful for scouting the desert, but they can phase directly /downwards/ and so find out quickly if there's anything of note below our landing point.

Rabbitspaw, if he's not busy doing riceballs, can move 6 an act, have 3 acts and can act during the dungeon phase if surprised. Not a very good scout compared to other options, but he can disable sentries pretty well

Anyone with a Drone B from the VPS can order it to scout, and it's hardy enough to shrug of any fire while also having a good move in this sandy environment. I think Coffee's even hover, which would be useful.
>>
>>46327881
I could do that, and deploy her once we find the place.
>>
>>46328746
Ordonians (DaraDara, FoosFoos and LeiLei) can track scent trails and if many people have come through the area will likely be a good boon to simply track where people go. They're slow and can't see far though.

I can track scent trails too, but I'd really prefer not to be on my own in the middle of a desert. I have this feeling of creeping impending doom, y'see.

Compared to these other options, hunters, ghouls, mages, knights, weiss', scholars and all that simply can't see far enough, aren't fast enough and cannot track the enemy enough.

If we're here for clues I think the best option is either tasking a lux moth to scour the desert to find the entrance (if there is one), and then hit that area hard, task a volgon scout team to get 1 sector while we explore another sector, or feed Watchful the potion that takes him to 11 sight range and have him see the desert entirely.

In either case, a midian could deploy then immediately phase down and start searching the underground. If they find something (like a large suspecious facility) they can deploy hunter bombs to blast an entrance from us up on the surface. Then we enter the faciltiy that way. It cuts down on any exploration.

The desert is simply too vast and too wide to be scouted by most other means.
>>
bump
>>
We do have a clue on the whereabouts of the underground facility.
>>46263784

But if a nose is needed, I am not that slow. Dara Dara shall rescue Jackie!
>>
>>46332413
That's only fitting, Dara. And you're right about the moonstone, I'd forgotten about that.

It's odd its in the north east quadrant though. Judging from Moonsabers investigation of the Salt Flats, I'd assume the entire west side is a beached ship covered by the sand. It'd make a good facility if you operated inside it. Tthe hull could provide shelter. Were we holding the map upside down? No? All right. Well maybe we'll find something similar in the sands of the desert.

That does narrow down our range of operations considerably which is very handy. We need simply deploy, approach, and uncover a viable entrance. As long as we know where in the vast salty flats we touch down, it should be very easy to effectively comb the desert from there.

So on the list of volunteers we have

2I 1R | 2P 2K | 1W 1Y | 2M 1O | 1H

Watchful can see quite far while Livia and Bloom can easily check underground for any facilities. I understand Rookie Croak is quick too, if perhaps not my very first choice for a desert deployment. Notorious lack of water in those. Working together you should be able to find the facility, and you're certainly geared for a matchup once in there. My only worry is that in trudging across the sand, most of your number is going to get bogged down.

Can we do anything to make the lot of you move faster?

If instant coffeed, it'd go to 14 pt and give anyone with 5 sight +2 to 7.

If watchful drinks one with instant coffee his sight goes to 11.

Oh silly knave, it seems neither you or your tongue have met the sharp sting of battle yet!

But the burden of being a knight comes with the burden of wearing a most spectacular armour. That full plate is exactly what doesn't make me "your meatshield". I will be shielding you with hard steel and a rusty frying pan! And it is your meat that requires shielding! For it is quite soft indeed! Soft and easy to cut through. Very soft.

Now I must say that cloak does look nice and fitting on the likes of you, I shall pass no judgement over your choice of attire. But a hero would never be seen wearing a cloak made of... ahem... "animal" leather.
