Sorry about last attempt at Thread 3. I was sick, and thought running a Quest while I was sick in bed was a good idea.

It wasn't.

Anyways, when we left off, we'd entered the Lakehouse, encountered Famine, and found a Journal. Let's do this thing.

Before we begin:

Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/mcjKuCdF
>>
You stand in the music room, staring down at the journal in your hands. The faded leather cover seems to have once had a name, but at this point it's too worn to read.

Pestilence's warning about the last entry rings in your head.

>Read First Entry
>Read Second Entry
>Read Third Entry
>Read Final Entry
>Don't read the journal.

>Read First Entry
>>
>>46250497
>read first entry
>>
>>46251638
You open the journal to the first entry.

"They'd told me you'd gone to hell. That even after the agony you'd gone through, your sins had gone unanswered. They showed me what was happening to you, and told me I'd never see you again...

I always knew they were lying to me."

>Read Entry Two
>Read Entry Three
>Read Final Entry
>Stop Reading.
>>

>Read Entry Two
>>
>>46251726
Let's go with entry two then
>>
>>46251752
You flip to entry two.

"Conquest is gone. Has been for ages. The guards at the gate were pathetic. I don't think they've ever had to deal with someone wanted to leave, especially someone armed.

They'll never let me back in, but I don't care. You escaped to Earth, and now, so have I..."

>Read Entry 3
>Read Final Entry
>Stop Reading.

Entry 3 it is!
>>
>>46252103
You flip to the third entry. Suddenly, you could almost swear you hear faint music.

"I know you're here. I can feel your presence, deep down in my soul.

I saw what you look like now, but I don't care. I still love you. I can't imagine the agony you feel with every breath, but I only hope I can soothe it, even a little.

I'll find you, and I know everything will be alright.

How to find you? Maybe by your singing..."

The song stops. In fact, so does all noise. Even the creaks of the old wood, the sound of your breathing, you can't hear anything at all...

>Read Final Entry
>Stop Reading.

No let's do this, let's read the last entry
>>
We're gonna need a tiebreaker here. Or for someone to change their vote.
>>
>>46252640
You really want to get attacked by a greater spirit?
>>
>>46252372
Fuck it, I'll change this vote to read the final entry so we keep things moving
>>
>>46252893
>>46252998
Yes, it's Easter so we're cool.
>>

>>Read Final Entry
No limits nigga.

You read the final entry. Rather than a journal entry, it's painstakingly written sheet music. You recognize it, it's a Hymn to Conquest. You begin reading it under your breath. Somehow, you know it's a bad idea, but you can't stop yourself.

As you read, music fills the air. At the final verse, another voice joins yours. You realize it's coming from right outside, at the lake.

Your cellphone buzzes, and your caller ID identifies the caller as Famine. You answer, and she immediately begins speaking.

"So, you read the last entry? That's okay, I'm not judging. Listen, that thing can't get into the Lakehouse. Like, it's physically incapable of doing so. So you're safe for now. But listen, don't leave until you're ready. The Lovers are waiting for you. They've caught your scent, and they want you dead."

You nod, and hang up.

>Investigate TV Room
>Head upstairs
>Leave and fight The Lovers

You step into the TV Room. The room is oddly pristine, and on a coffee table lies a single rosary. The mask's display lights up as you look at the wooden cross on the table.

>Take the Rosary
>Head Upstairs
>Leave the Lakehouse

You pick up the rosary, and even with the dust covering the wooden beads, it's comfortably warm in your hands.

You slip the rosary around your neck, and you feel... Safer.

Rosary: +3 Defense!

Defense: 13

As you step out of the TV room, you notice someone standing in the Foyer. They're a young woman, covered in flames and wearing a Conquest Priestess' regalia, a crown and silver robe covered by a shining breastplate. She looks up as you enter, and smiles beatifically.

"You're the one who read the hymn. I can tell. The Exorcist..."

She looks at her feet, and in her hands, you finally notice the hymnbook clutched in her delicate hands.

"I know what you're doing. You're here to save the living, and remove these Spirits..."

She looks into your eyes.

"Do you really want to do this? Are you sure you're making the right decision?"

>Talk to her
>Ignore her and move on.
>>
>>46254211
>Talk to her
>>
>>46254211
>Talk to her
Well it's kind of my job...
>>
>>46254297
She sighs. "I know. And I suppose I can't really fault you, can I?" She smiles sadly. "I knew another Exorcist once. Still know her, in fact..."

You nod warily. "I'm sorry, but I need to do this."

A single tear falls down her face. "I understand. Are you sure you couldn't make one exception? Please?" She drops to her knees in front of you. "My love... She doesn't know what she's doing. I... I can help her! I can make her better, save her!" She clasps her hands, looking into your eyes.

"Please... Would you seperate two Lovers again?"

>Attempt to fight her
>Continue speaking to her
>Leave her
>>
>>46254488
>Continue speaking to her
How could you save her?
>>
>>46254551
She sighs. "I'm already working on it... She, she's been in hell for years... It's changed her... I'm trying to help her, but it's a long process..."

She gets to her feet, tears streaming down her face. "She'll... She'll want to fight you, when you leave this house... I understand if you fight back, but... Don't destroy her. Death will take her back to Hell and... And it's not fair! Her sins were minor, but there were so many..."

She looks down and goes silent for a bit, before speaking again. "Do what you must... But please, just... Consider it."

She turns around, and walks out the door. Before the door closes, you catch sight of something beginning to climb onto the docks to meet her...

>Go Upstairs
>Leave the Lakehouse

You head up the stairs to the second floor. As you get to the second floor, you begin hearing a sound. A gentle sobbing from one of the rooms.

As you approach the door, you realize that the carpet in front of the door is soaking wet. It seems water is leaking from underneath the door.

You open the door to the bathroom, and immediately a flood of water gushes out of it. The sobbing stops as the water flows out, and your legs are soaked.

The sobbing starts up again. This time from the Bedroom. You also hear what sounds like something heavy falling over in the Attic.
