So anyways, updates. Let's see, our tabletop is progressing smoothly, or at least as smoothly as you can get with a GM hellbent on getting everybody sunk. All the secrets are out, so the whole party knows about the rehabilitated Abyssals and the fact that our supercarrier is alive and self aware. SAN loss all around!

It's pretty distressing when you realize that HOEL of all ships practically did not lose any SAN and became the default peacemaker and voice of reason. HOEL.

She proceeded to take advantage of this by getting the rehabilitated Abyssals addicted to Call of Duty.

In other news, we also met three Japanese admirals running the various remaining naval bases on the island: Shitty Admiral, /FIT/ Admiral, and Masochist Admiral. They were all great fun in their own ways!

Also, still dumping unhealthy hours (around 100) into the Division, and finally managed to farm up enough high end gear to kit out all my slots. If you happen to see an operator waifu running around the Dark Zone with a Hot Pink Vector and Mk17 and a Neon Green M45A1, that's most likely me!

Other Quests: http://pastebin.com/sYpqmWZg

You are the former United States Navy warship USS HOEL, now returned as a shipgirl and ready to kick Abyssal ass!

And currently, you were in a HUUUUUUGE pickle. Namely, Tanager, that super Abyssal battleship everybody as worried about, had broken through Iowa's battle line and was making a beeline straight for YOU, or more accurately, your fleet, which consisted of nothing more than seven destroyers, two light cruisers, an escort carrier, and a fleet carrier.

Not exactly the ideal matchup.

According to Anna's panicked updates, Tanager would be in firing range of you within seconds if you didn't do anything. Hornet was telling you that she could recover and redeploy her B-25s with antiship arms, but she'd need more time. Time you'd have to buy for her.

Once more into the breach.

Though picking up a question from the last thread, here's kind of an issue I have with this Quest. It starts around 10PM EST. And I'm not sticking around much after midnight. So that's maybe 5-6 or so updates, maybe more on a good night, sometimes less. So yeah I'm not voting the whole run, and I expect other anons on the East Coast fall off well before the thread's through, as well.

It start roughly at 8.30 am and can last as long as 5 pm or more. And i finished my shift at 4pm.

I guess for anon in other side of world, it just kinda too long.

Damn! With the importance of this mission, there wasn't really any choice but to stay and fight. If you fell back now, it would give Tanager free reign to attack the landing forces, and as long as she was here, she'd be blocking the third wave of landing forces, who were carrying the critical armor support the Marines would need if they wanted to push to the heart of the island.

Tanager was still a distant blur on the horizon, but she was getting closer and closer all the same. You pulse your radar and see a pair of battleships from Iowa's group breaking off to pursue, but Tanager's got a massive lead on them and it looks like constant Abyssal air attacks are forcing them into evasive maneuvers, slowing them down even further.

"So, what's the plan, Hoel?" Johnston asks, her shield at the ready.

"We'll follow your lead." Heerman remarks as she flexes her EXO arm.

"Count me in, too!" Haida nods, her guns at the ready.

"Us, three!" Luce speaks for her sisters.

With Ontario and San Diego sticking close to White Plains and Hornet, that meant it was just you seven destroyers to hold the line.

And seven destroyers worth of torpedoes...

"Okay, we'll fire off in sequence, one by one!" You announce. "Just go in, release, and get the hell out for the girl behind you to fire!"

"But won't she be able to dodge single spreads?" Wren frowns.

"That's the idea!" You nod as you speed forward. "The more time she has to dedicate to going evasive, the less time she's got to close in!"

At this point, Tanager begins to get closer, close enough that your optics can now actually see her. And she... was disconcerting, to put it lightly. Tanager was a tall and lithe pale woman, much like the other humanoid Abyssals you've seen. She was wearing a pretty skimpy black gown that clung tight to her body. Long black, silky hair swayed in the wind as crimson red eyes gazed in your direction.

And that wasn't even getting into her Rig. Like most other Abyssals, Tanager's Rig was constructed of black steel, darker than night, but this one was different in the fact that her Rig seemed to be alive as well, with a massive, eyeless head and a pair of fleshy, muscular arms protruding out of it.

And all you could think about was how happy Vahlen would be to dissect her.

You shake your head, trying to ignore the dull throbbing that had suddenly started as you tried to concentrate. You had a job to do!

As you lead the torpedo run, you can see the distinct flashes of cannon fire. Your radar immediately picks up the shells and calculates projected trajectory in a split second in your head. At these long ranges, it was pretty easy to dodge the massive 16 inch shells Tanager was lobbing at you. Just as well, since you were sure even a single hit from those would cause some serious damage. You weave to avoid the shells, getting drenched with water as they plunge down, creating massive geysers.

The trick was just getting close enough for your torpedoes to be a credible threat to her. The closer you went, the less reaction time you'd have to dodge her shots...

"Cover me, I'm going in!" You bark as you pour more speed into your engines. You'd have to sail straight and true on your final attack run, which would be the stage at which you were at the most danger. Behind you, you could hear the 5 inchers of your sisters and the Fletchers as well as the smaller 4.7 inch guns from Haida booming as they pour distracting fire onto Tanager, but they may as well be popguns compared to her armor and her massive 16 inchers.

"Hoel! Watch out!" Anna squeaks. "The Growlers are reporting that T-Tanager's radiating!"

"What?" You blink.

"I mean- SHE HAS RADAR!" Anna yells.

Your optics flash back to Tanager, and you see the individual barrels on her turrets twitching as they make minute corrections, calculating your projected path for the best shot.

SHIT.

You quickly pull a sharp S-shaped maneuver in the water, your quick movements throwing off Tanager's fire control just enough for you to drop your torpedoes safely and book it the hell out of there. Tanager meanwhile swerves hard to port to dodge. One of your torpedoes scores a hit and explodes and her hull. Tanager grimaces, but otherwise doesn't look too badly hurt.

"Girls! She's got radar! Don't risk a close up shot!" You bark.

"Roger!" Heerman affirms as she lets off her own torpedoes. Tanger is again forced into a hard turn, but now the fire rate of her cannons was starting to pick up.

"Hoel, I have a pair of Growlers ready to provide ECM support!" Anna announces. "They can jam Tanager's radar, but due to your proximity, your own radars could be affected! What's the call?"

You bite your lip. Removing radar from the question would certainly hamper Tanager, as she'd have to optically track all you and were you smaller and faster. The downside meant that you'd have to eyeball her as well, AND you'd lose any kind of early warning or benefits your own radar could provide.

And that throbbing in your head still wouldn't go away...

"Do it, Anna!" You instruct.

"All right! Um, I recommend you switch off your radars-"

"AGH!" You wince as your radar vision is suddenly interrupted by a wall of static, temporarily blinding you. You shake your head as you switch off your radar set and switch back to optics for good.

>RADAR DISABLED

You look around and see the rest of your ragtag little fleet similarly getting caught off guard and switching their radars off. Tanager frowns as her turrets suddenly go crazy, their movements becoming jerky and unpredictable. This buys Luce, Wren, and Daly enough time to close in and unleash their own torpedo volleys, forcing her into even more defensive maneuvers to avoid them.

"Yeah! It's working!" Luce whoops as she and her sisters pull away while you and your own sisters pelt Tanager with 5 inch shells to cover them.

"Oh no, watch out!" Heerman cries.

At this point, Tanager crimson eyes flash in anger and she charges forward directly at Haida who is in the middle of her own torpedo run. Haida hesitates for a brief second but commits, her face full of determination.

You and your sisters rush in to try and support Haida while Luce, Wren, and Daly attempt to recover from their evasive turns they initiated to break off their torpedo runs. However, there's nothing you can do to stop Haida or Tanager as your 5 inch shells bounce uselessly off of Tanager's thick armor. Without your radar, you couldn't tell the ETA of Iowa's reinforcements or Hornet's bombers. That meant the only support you could count on was what you had here.

Haida stares down Tanager, a battleship easily several times her size, as her torpedo launcher swivels around. Tanager's turrets turn to track the tiny destroyer...

Her Rig's left arm extends out and backhands the little Canadian destroyer with enough force to send her literally flying through the air like a discarded soda can. Haida tumbles in the air for a brief couple of seconds before landing hard in the water with a loud SPLASH!

"Haida!" Ontario gasps.

"Haida? Haida! Can you hear me?!" You query over the radio.

No response.

"Okay, got my bombers back and- HOLY SHIT HOW IS SHE SO CLOSE ALL OF A SUDDEN!?!" Hornet yelps in shock.

Almost immediately, San Diego and Ontario interpose themselves between Tanager and the carriers. As light cruisers, there was no possible way they could stand up to Tanager in a straight up fight, but from the looks in their eyes, they were going to try anyways.

"What do we do, Hoel?" Heerman pants, her eyes continually darting back to Haida's last known location. "What about Haida?"

"Luce! Take your sisters and make sure Haida is okay!" You snap.

"But-" Luce protests.

"Do it!" You bark, a bit louder now.

"O-okay!" Luce nods as she and sisters turn away, making best speed for where Haida had landed, the only evidence of her presence being her white naval cap floating on the surface the oil slicked water.

That just left you, Johnston, and Heerman to find a way to slow down or preferable stop Tanager. The Abyssal had presented the rear of her Rig to you, which could conceivably expose more weak points in her armor. However, if you couldn't get in a good hit, nothing would stop Tanager from just tearing through San Diego and Ontario.

And there was the crazier option. Between Johnston's shield and Heerman's EXO arm, maybe you could...

Send Ontario. She can't do more than take fire and doesn't have the maneuverability of the DDs. She can do rescue while the DDs screen. Speaking of which, now would be a very good time to make smoke. Without radar to penetrate it, smoke is a viable option to shield Hornet.

Whelp, I was late on voting for the last post - but I still say smoke is the right play here. It worked at Samar when DDs went up close with BBs and CAs, since the IJN didn't have radar, so it should work here.

You can't hit what you can't see. Johnson survived quite some time at point blank range at Samar by hiding in her own smoke.

"Fire fire fire!" You yell as you and your sisters raise your 5 inch cannons and let loose. Your shells slam into the back the back of Tanager's Rig, causing the battleship to pause. With no radar, she has to physically turn her head to gauge the new potential threat with her optics, giving San Diego and Ontario critical seconds to lay down smoke, shrouding themselves and the carriers from view.

Meanwhile, the fusillades you're pouring into Tanager are scoring solid hits, but your shells are just bouncing off. Seeing that you three aren't a particular threat, Tanager shoots you a knowing smile as the throbbing in your head intensifies. Tanager then turns back around and starts steaming for the defensive smoke cloud the light cruisers had put up.

"That BITCH!"Johnston seethes.

"Just keep shooting!" You urge your sisters.

Unfazed by your cannon fire, Tanager calmly sails right into the smoke cloud. Gritting your teeth, you follow her in.

"Hoel, wait!" Heerman cries. "I'm losing visual with you!"

But you continue your pursuit into the choking smoke. It stings your throat and eyes, and you can't see any farther than an arm's length ahead of you. You try firing up your radar, but the wall of static causes you to wince again. The jamming was still going strong.

Well, at least Tanager would be the same boat.

And that's when you hear laughing over your radio, obscured by the crackle of static and white noise.

"Hey, which one of you is laughing?" You whisper over the radio.

"It's not me." Johnston assures you.

"I don't hear anything like that." Heerman responds. "Where are you? I can't find you in this smoke!"

"I dunno..." You look around, suddenly feeling very isolated and alone despite all the sounds of battle raging around you. You swear that the smoke cloud is just muffling everything.

"Oh, poor little Hoel. They can't hear us talk." You hear a feminine voice, oozing smugness yet at the same time feeling as cold as the edge of a frozen knife. "They don't quite have... the 'connection' you have with us. At least not yet."

Sophism is the "that guy" of philosophy and I really wish you'd just stop and accept abyssals are evil, probably a hive mind, but maybe worth interacting with so we can figure out how to free all the shipgirls who have been tricked into serving the Abyssals.

We fucking recognized Wo-chan. That really should at least tug at your heartstrings a little and make you want a good end.
>>

After talking with Vahlen we had an Abyssal try to hijack our brain. Then we talked with Mary, who had a similar encounter and agrees that they're evil, souless monsters. We've got plenty of reason to not want anything to do with them.
>>
>>46260009
It's precisely because things are already screwed so badly that I want to talk. Hell, if we don't choose the option that let us potential talk or way out of this, I'm afraid that the others and ourselves would just suffer the full consequences of that Nat 1, which is massive damage to everyone or maybe even the death of a character.

"What do you want?" You ask, ignoring your comm fairy for the moment. You keep your head on a swivel, trying to see if your optics could glean any sort of visual through the smoke.

"To make you beautiful, of course." The voice purrs. You feel a cold wind brush past you briefly.

"I'm just going to assume you're Tanager." You say grimly.

"Hmmmmm, is that what they call me?" Tanager giggles. "How endearing I wonder what they will call the rest of us?"

"The rest of you?" You narrow your eyes. You could see your breath wafting through the air

"Oh, there are so many of us, little Hoel." Tanager chuckles. "So many more, just waiting under the ice. Why don't you join us?"

You hear a crackle at your feet, as you see your shoes were now breaking apart a thin layer of ice that had crusted over on the ocean surface.

"How about I just tell you to shove off?" You grunt. "Why are you so interested in me, anyways?"

"Because you're absolutely right, Hoel, you ARE important. Do you realize all of the ships you've gathered around you? Ships that would follow you to the icy depths of the Abyss."

"They'd never do that." You growl.

"Oh, but they will. When you turn, so will they. One. By. One."

Images of Johnston, Heerman, Luce, Wren, Daly, White Plains, and more flash across your eyes. Eye deathly pale with sapphire blue eyes.

"We can make them ALL beautiful, Hoel." Tanager continues. "All you have to do is to just let. Us. In..."

A thin layer of frost begins forming on your skin and hull. You could feel an icy cold wind on the back your neck, as if somebody was just behind you.

Blah, maybe Hoel can keep more people alive if we keep her talking and not shooting.

Maybe it would do Hoel good to have the trap bite her?
So far, anons don't believe there will ever be hard or bad consequences for bad choices.

"Consequences" and "it'll all be over and Hoel will become an abyssal slave" are two different things.

There's the blatant encroachment of the Abyssal ice into our feet and our hull, indicating that Tanager is doing something to us.
Our comm fairy, the beings that are more magical than we are, indicated this was a bad idea and to cut comms.
The longer we're in here, the longer Tanager and the Abyss controls our body, since the Wo controlled our body while it tried to indoctrinate us.

That is a point, since until we get purely harmful interactions with the abyssal when we try to communicate with them, why would people believe that talking with them is a bad idea? We mostly got visions, picture and other vague stuff at the times we did connect with them after all.

You try to keep the rage simmering inside you from bursting out. You close your eyes and take a deep breath, your lungs filling with ice cold air before answering.

"I've got an answer for you. It's about five inches." You say as you casually point your handheld 5 inch cannon behind you and fire without even looking.

Suddenly, it seems like a filter over your eyes was suddenly taken off. The tropical air of the Pacific Ocean suddenly hits you like a wall, and the booms of distant explosions and the shrieks of planes engines assault your ears once again. Its as if the concussion from your cannon dispelled some sort of illusion or mirage.

And there, in front of you, Tanager sails toward you, her eyes burning bright and blue in the hazy smoke. You could make the vague outlines of Rig as well, their cannons swiveling to aim at you. Both arms flex and crack their knuckles like a bouncer as the giant "head" gives and ugly grin, red light flowing from its mouth.

"Very well." She says in an offended huff, like a scorned lover. "We don't need to bring you back intact anyways."

Well, here the two of you were. Zero momentum, almost no visibility, and no situational awareness. How were you going to get out of this...

No, stories are only interesting if the hero fights the antagonist where it matters.

You're basically saying "Don't talk to Darth Vader, don't believe anything he says about him being Anakin, don't think he's anything other than an evil nazi, don't talk to the Emperor, just kill Darth Vader and then kill the Emperor."

That's a common /tg/ mindset I've grown incredibly frustrated with. The idea every single antagonist is just something for them to kill.
>>
>>46260572
>GOTTA GO FAST
If they don't need us intact, how sure can we be that they even need the Shipgirl Hoel instead of just our hull?
Considering how even the human-form Abyssals like Wo are mass-produced, then they may likely just scrub the personality and use the body for mass manufacture of disposable vessels.
>>
>>46260649
Except in this case the antagonist has only ONE FUCKING RELEVANT THING TO SAY. It's the same thing every time. Abyssals are monsters.

SO THEN WHY DOES MERC KEEPING GIVING US THE CHANCE TO TALK TO THEM WHEN, ACCORDING TO YOU, THERE'S ONLY TWO RESULTS: 1. WE IGNORE THEM AND GO ON OUR MERRY WAY; OR 2 WE INSTANTLY LOSE.

One of Tanager's Rig arms takes a swipe at you, no doubt to try and grab you, but you can see that move coming from miles away and duck right as your screws start to spool up, jetting you away and around Tanager. You don't even bother looking behind you as keep going straight and true. In short order, you burst out of the smoke cloud...

...and nearly ram into a pair of battleships. You dig your heels into the water to screech to a stop in front of North Carolina and Washington.

"I'm assume she's in there?" The dark haired North Carolina glances at the smoke cloud as Tanager's frustrated roar can be heard emanating from it. She looked prim and proper, like a secretary or businesswoman, down to the tidiness of her uniform, which looked untouched even in the midst of this battle.

"Y-yeah." You pant, suddenly feeling extremely tired.

"Don't worry, we'll take care of it." The white haired Washington smiles warmly as he pats you on the head. She seemed a bit more casual but no less professional than her sister ship.

You try not to notice that both ships had frontal armor that looked to rival Iowa's.

Meanwhile, up above, you could see flights of B-25s circling above, just waiting like hungry sharks for an enemy to emerge from the cloud.

"The rest of your Task Force is regrouping with the third wave." North Carolina explains calmly. "You should link up with them."

"All right, I'll leave it to you two, then." You nod. You personally wanted to see this whole thing through, but North Carolina and Washington had their jobs and you had yours. You see the two battleships disappear into the smoke and almost immediately the cloud lights up with the flash of cannon fire. You can hear the two battleship sisters coordinating with each other as they exploit their numbers advantage to keep Tanager on the defensive. Battleships really were amazing.

And you briefly wonder how Iowa's line was holding without the two of them.

"Hoel!" Johnston cries as she tacklehugs you, followed by the Fletchers and nearly knocking you over. "You went into the cloud and weren't responding to us! We were soooooooo worried!"

"What?" You blink. "I didn't hear anything."

"Maye it was some kind of interference." Heerman suggests.

"What about Haida?" You gasp.

"We got her back safe and sound!" Luce salutes. "She got beat up real bad, though!"

"Literally got her Rig knocked off of her!" Wren nods.

"A lot of broken ribs, too, but Ontario says the worst damage is to her pride!" Daly adds.

Ah, well, you figure you should make it up to Haida after this battle...

"What exactly happened in there, Hoel?" Portland sails in, and you can see her Rig has had hasty battlefield repairs done to it. Sheets of armor plate were hastily bolted or welded over breaches, and her arm was tied into a splint. Despite that, it looked like her turrets and propulsion were still operational at least.

"You went quiet in there for quite a while." She continues, adjusting her glasses with her good arm.

"Later." You grunt. "Don't we have a job to do now?"

Honestly, you didn't really want to tell her. At least not now. There were too many questions and too many concerns if something like this were to become public.

"Right, right." Portland nods. "As it stands now, with Tanager still in the area, the Admiral still hasn't given the go ahead to launch the Third Wave. Those LCACs are sitting ducks, especially with Hornet dedicating most of her air power to keeping Tanager contained."

Portland nods to the ring of B-25s circling over the smoke cloud, which had now started turning an ugly black. No doubt Tanager was aware of the bombers above her and was dispersing smoke of her own to keep them from getting a visual on her.

"Not to mention, Haida's completely out of the battle, and I'm not exactly in prime condition." Portland sighs. "If the Abyssals decide to try another full scale ambush, I'm not sure how well we'd fare."

"We can totally do it!" Luce says with confidence. "Just believe in us, Sweet Pea!"

"Don't call me- nevermind." Portland sighs. "You were just in there, Hoel, maybe you can convince the Admiral to let them launch. Their air support is nearly bingo on munitions and fuel. They're going to need that armor."

"I think North Carolina and Washington can keep her busy." You assure her. "Let me tell the Admiral."

"I already heard." The Admiral affirms. "I'm releasing the deployment of Thunder. Keep them safe."

"This is Thunder 1-1, we're moving out!" The lead LCAC announces as the formation of transports fires up their engines and begins to pick up speed. You, your sisters, and the Fletchers take up picket positions once again while the cruisers and carriers stick to the rear of the formation. With the Growlers having halted their jamming, you can start using your radar to get a picture of the battles raging around the island once again.

Iowa's battleline was still slugging it out with the main Abyssal fleet. Of course, Iowa was taking the point and was dishing out (and taking) the brunt of the damage. This also seemed to be where most of the air power and conventional fleet were being concentrated as well.

Farther out East, the blocking force was still engaged in what was mostly an aerial battle. The picket ships had essentially circled the wagons around Midway and planes from what was presumably Geofons continued their relentless bombing runs. Midway's more sophisticated fighters were making up for the numbers discrepancy, but only just.

Thankfully, despite the Admiral's concerns, the first few transports carrying Thunder land safely, disgorging LAV armored vehicles and Abrams tanks onto the defiled beaches. One of the last transports, Thunder 4-4, starts to make an approach when-

You wince as a sudden, splitting headache pierces your skull, like an icicle was being stabbed into it like a spike. There's a loud howl from the smoke cloud as Tanager bursts out, her eyes and mouth glowing red and spitting death and hellfire.

"She's making a break for it!" North Carolina warns. "Watch out!"

"Get ready!" You yell to the rest of your task force. You could already tell, Tanager wasn't looking to escape.

She was looking to destroy something. Something that scared her so much she was willing to expose herself to your fleet's combined firepower.

You glance at Thunder 4-4. What was it carrying?

Regardless, at this point the LCAC was at the halfway point between the conventional fleet and the shore. Whoever was driving that transport had to make a call, or have that call be made for him. But whatever he did, you had the nagging feeling Tanager would follow...

>Tell Thunder 4-4 to keep going and land.
>Tell Thunder 4-4 to withdraw back to the fleet.

With our radar back up, can we use our 5-incher to hit Tanager's propellers?
>>
>>46261895
Stop trying to get us killed.
>>
>>46261895
Well, I did suggest earlier to shoot for the fire control directors. Radars are even easier; no armor there. Also, lots of high explosive on the superstructure can start fires. Think of Hiei and South Dakota at Guadalcanal.

The 5"/38's common shells detonate 25 milliseconds after impact, so they can't really hit anything below the waterline.

"Thunder 4-4, keep going! We'll cover you!" You bark.

"R-roger that!" Thunder 4-4 stammer as he accelerates his LCAC even faster. Probably highly unsafe in normal conditions, but everything right now was far from normal.

Meanwhile, Tanager continues to make a beeline for Thunder 4-4. North Carolina are hot on her heels, pouring 16 inch cannon fire into her back. Hornet's B-25s dive down like hungry birds of prey. It's now that you notice that instead of bombs, these B-25s were lugging 75mm cannons. Guess that's what Hornet meant when they were geared for surface attack.

And despite what Tanager would lead you believe, the numerous hits were certainly doing damage. Chunks of armor from her Rig were being blown off, and thick black oilblood sloughed from hull breaches, but still she continued on, all of her cannons firing wildly at anything that moved, somehow making her even more dangerous than when she was firing controlled salvos. Both North Carolina and Washington flinch as they take hits, while several of the B-25s go down in flames from massed heavy airburst rounds.

And a familiar red light began to seep out from her body and Rig as she continued her reckless charge. It felt... oddly familiar to you.

"Fire at will!" Portland barks as her 8 inch guns swing into position and fire. Ontario, San Diego, and the rest of the destroyers contribute their firepower as well. But your smaller caliber rounds just keep flattening or bouncing off of Tanager. Nothing's stopping her... nothing's stopping her...

Come on, Hoel, it's time to make it count!

Huh, what was that one saying you had heard in that Star Wars park before? Something about trusting your feelings?

Well, you definitely needed something to trust in here right the fuck now. Instinctively, you activate your radar again, and aim a dedicated pulse at Tanager.

And for the first time you truly SEE.

Thin lines of light crisscrossing Tanager's body and hull. Small, imperceptible seams in her armor, with larger points of glowing light indicating weak spots, areas where her armor was thin and easier to penetrate. Her eyes, for instance. Sections right underneath her turrets. Her ankles. With her attention focused on another. it feels like you have all the time in the world to line up your shot. You aim right at Tanager's left eye, and fire.

You can SEE the shell fly through the air, spinning as it went, throwing off bits of propellant as it did so. You can almost see the tip of the shell pop Tanager's crimson eye like a balloon mere fractions of a second before it explodes.

Tanager screams as she veers away, the loss of an optic too much even for her to ignore. This buys Thunder 4-4 the precious seconds he needs to land on the beach.

You notice your eyes start tearing up and dab at them with your finger, and recoil when you see your fingertips smudged with fresh blood.

"While your assistance was very much appreciate, Hoel, I do have to warn against you exerting yourself like that." Mulberry says calmly as she slowly and surely strolls down Thunder 4-4's boarding ramp.

And the moment her boot touches the sand all hell breaks loose.

>And that's it for tonight! Next week is April 1, so expect a bit of a "special" thread! What will it be about? Well, that's a surprise!
>Anyways, don't forget Infinite Stars on Saturday!
